Cocktails are okay. Didnt exceed expectations but not bad either. My friend ordered Gin tonic and he said it tastes like sprite. This bar is definitely short on spirit volume in each drink.Music every night from 8pm. Reservation highly recommended -

Stumbled upon this gem of a speakeasy on a Saturday night -- didnt have a reservation but was seated in ~10mins! Drinks were great, and would absolutely come back to try more of their menu!Food was also unexpectedly amazing! We had the pork belly, cucumber salad, and the potato dauphinoise! Would recommend all three! -

Boyfriend and I got Beers and listened to some REALLY good jazz music. Loved the vibe! Waitstaff and bar staff were all super nice too. No complaints :) -

We stumbled upon Bathtub Gin after dinner, and I’m so glad we did. It was a bit tricky to find at first, but the bouncer noticed us lingering and ensured we got in without hassle. Once inside, the space was super cool—dimly lit with great music and a fun, speakeasy vibe. The service was fantastic, and the drinks were just as impressive. It was the perfect spot to cap off the night, and I’d go back. -

As a native New Yorker i am not easily impressed , but this place did it for me. Drinks and vibes were dope . Henry , a manager , made sure the customer service was above and beyond and this is the day after New Years, so imagine a regular NYC day. Espresso martinis were on point , not to harsh and smooth. Perfect place to be intimate setting. Again ask for Henry. He’s amazing! -

The drinks that Kayla made were so good! She was very friendly and professional and made us really special drinks. Thank you Kayla -

If you want classy rafined gin cocktails, this is the place to be.Try to take a pic in the literal bathtub in the middle of the room. Worth it 💯 -

Top vibes!Make sure to visit when they have live jazz music!Great cocktails!!! -
Review 9 (2024-04-28 - Rating: 5)
Atmosphere 8.5/10Dark atmosphere with cozy lighting. A lot of details in the interior design. And a freakin’ metal bathtub in the middle of the bar. Nice back bar. Music volume is pleasant and allows a conversationDrinks 7/10Decent cocktails. Average presentation and garnish. No coasters.Service 7/10Bartenders were nice and attentive with all customers. No water served with the drinks. Prices are average for NYC. Minus points for bathroom attendants - I really don’t enjoy anyone forced on me to open a door, squeeze soap and give me towels - with a “tip venmo” QR code next to it…Overall good bar for a cocktail with friends when in Chelsea -
Review 10 (2024-08-27 - Rating: 4)
Certain days have different events, which sounds like fun. The drinks themselves weren’t that great though. I might give it another shot when they change up their menu. -
Review 11 (2023-02-15 - Rating: 5)
Enjoyed cocktails at bathtub gin twice, each time, the cocktails were top quality! The service is great, and the atmosphere is nice, but not bougie.Definitely go on a night when there is burlesque! The MC , or Femme-C was delightfully, off-color and entertaining. The acts were all very good, and we even got to enjoy one of my favorite burlesque dancers, Medianoche.Highly recommended, will definitely return! -
Review 12 (2023-10-16 - Rating: 4)
A gem of a place. Really cosy and intimate. Our server was pretty miserable so they lose a star but everyone else was great. They kept your water topped up every couple of minutes too. Overall an excellent place with good service.Food is limited but very nice. The fries were awesome. -
Review 13 (2023-10-17 - Rating: 5)
A hidden speakeasy with a fun 1920s prohibition theme, complete with brass bathtub. No sign out from for the bar (only one for the front business (Stone Street Coffee Company) as they were back during prohibition. The first room you enter is the coffee company, with no discernable door into the club until the doorman or hostess pulls on a piece of wall trim, revealing the entrance. Inside is decorated with period wallpaper, furniture, bar ware, photos, and more. Would recommend reserving a table if youre going during busy hours.Burlesque shows take place on certain days and hours (check their social media).Be sure and sit in the copper bathtub for a photo! -
Review 14 (2024-01-09 - Rating: 5)
Very cool place for an excellent cocktail. The door/coat check people were super nice… they really kicked off the experience right by being welcoming, nice, and funny.I love the low lighting and prohibition era decor of the bar (I hate QR code menus though, but I get it). The drinks are very high quality, which is expected. The gin selection is excellent and it’s well worth the visit if you are a fan of the spirit. -
Review 15 (2024-12-31 - Rating: 5)
This place is legit awesome. Quintessential Manhattan speakeasy. Maggie and Enrique killed it!!! If you have one night in nyc, hit this place up! :) -
Review 16 (2022-12-17 - Rating: 5)
Made a reservation for me and my friends for 9pm on a Friday and we didn’t have to wait in line. You have the table for 2 hours and you can still hang out at the bar after. Highly recommend getting a reservation for this bar, because they will make you wait outside in line otherwise. The vibe of the place was great. Surprisingly, there were more guys than girls and about a third to half of the people were on dates. The cocktails were great and we got s’mores, which was such a fun experience because we got to roast them on our table! -
Review 17 (2021-11-03 - Rating: 5)
We went for Burlesque and Dinner last night and what a show they put on. The Hostess engages with the audience as do the very talented dancers. Food was classic and simple. My Gin Martini was delish. The place is packed out be sure to make a reservation. It’s a mixed crowd of people; couples, friends, men and women sitting together there is no need to be shy and they will not let you be anyway. Ha!! -
Review 18 (2024-04-23 - Rating: 5)
One of my goto speakeasies in the city. Very nice people at the door who allowed me in without a reservation. There’s a free coat check upon entering. Lovely cocktails, lovely music, overall great experience. -

If you guys don’t know what are the speakeasy bars in New York, please go check it out Bathtub Gin. A very cool place. The owner Mark, is cool and gentle. Very particular bar of New York. Good food and good drinks.Silvio, from Italy/France. -
Review 20 (2023-05-20 - Rating: 5)
Genuine speakeasy experience! The place looked like a quintessential nyc building with a deli in a corner and apartments above the first floor. One of our colleagues had been here and seemed to know where we were going. The guy at the door was super nice. We didnt have any reservations, but he let us in after a little waiting. Once in, we were in a whole other world! We couldnt sit due to the lack of reservation but had a great time while we were there. The bartender were highly skilled and passionate about what they were doing. Made us some amazing cocktails, some that were not even on the menu. Cant wait to visit again! -
Review 21 (2024-08-10 - Rating: 5)
Atmosphere: 8.5/10The bar has a dark, cozy ambiance, enhanced by detailed interior design elements, including a striking metal bathtub in the center. The back bar is well-organized, and the music is at a comfortable volume, making conversation easy.Drinks: 7/10The cocktails are decent, though their presentation and garnish are fairly average. Notably, there are no coasters provided.Service: 7/10The bartenders are friendly and attentive to all patrons. However, no water is served with the drinks, and the prices are typical for NYC. A downside is the presence of bathroom attendants—having someone assist with soap, towels, and door-opening feels unnecessary, especially with a tip Venmo QR code prominently displayed.Overall:A solid spot for cocktails with friends when youre in Chelsea. -
Review 22 (2022-04-12 - Rating: 5)
Absolutely loved my experience here! Came here to celebrate my birthday and the whole experience was so beautifully done. Venu is cute and private. I love the classic vibes. Food is decent and price is not bad at all!! Burlesque show on Sunday was FABULOUS. All the dancers were talented and beautiful, Im so glad i got to experience this. Our waiter could of had a better attitude but he did good for the most part. I definitely want to come back again soon. -
Review 23 (2022-04-04 - Rating: 5)
Super swanky. Great date night spot and one of my favorite cocktail bar/speakeasy in the city. Vibes are strong, drinks are delicious, food not bad. The fries slap and the chicken dish was pretty good. I didn’t order a gin drink because the espresso martini was so good I had to order a second one. They do live music on Wednesdays and live burlesque on Tuesdays and Sundays. Will definitely be back. -
Review 24 (2023-01-14 - Rating: 4)
A fantastic first experience here even though I didnt get to sit. This place gets booked quick as you can reserve seats I would recommend planning your visitIf you come without a reservation, expect to line up outside. You will have to do a coat check in the winter. The girls working here are lovely and not shy to compliment you if you dress well.No reservation means best available options - standing bar this time.Classic decorations, with bathtubs about. Eric was the bartender - short spunky dude with a welcoming air and sleek black hair. Wonderful service standing at the bar. 11 years old, this place has aged well into its own groove. They seem to love slow jams and classic hip hop here - cool. The drinks were amazing.Easy Peazy - my first drink here was a light affair. Exactly what I wanted - refreshing, light, easy to drink. Great starter. Lemon, Old Duff Genever, Suze, St. Germaine, Lillet, Lemon Curd - Served up. The lemon is turned into foam and is a beautiful compliment to an already great drink. Theres not enough of it in the glass.Sloe Resurrection - this is a mezcal and gin drink. It kind of reminds me of a Manhattan cocktail. Served with Bruxo Mezcal, Ford’s Sloe Gin, Lemon, Lillet Rouge - up. Delicious.Pulled Pork Laitte - very sweet, and a little salty. Not bad. Bruschetta makes it worth it. Not my thing as Im not big on sweet drinks but this is passable.Smores Old Fashioned - Woodinville Bourbon, Glyph Whiskey, Walnut Bitters, Boker’s Bitters, Px Sherry, Graham Crackers, Vanilla, Cacao - Served on the rocks. In a sentence, it might be one of the best old fashioned I have ever had. -
Review 25 (2024-03-06 - Rating: 5)
I had a blast, I went to celebrate my birthday and I had a lot of fun. I strongly recommend going when they host a burlesque show. -
Review 26 (2019-03-22 - Rating: 5)
Wow what a quirky place with good variety of cocktails. As its a speakeasy bar you walk through a bakery to enter the bar. For drinks you can turn up but to eat you must book a table. Will recommend to my UK friends when visiting New York. -
Review 27 (2021-09-28 - Rating: 4)
Nice atmosphere. Not the place to have a conversation without shouting at each other. The mix of music is great but really loud. We went for dinner, and it was so good, but honestly it was more like appetizers than dinner. Overall great experience, great drinks and a fun place to hangout! -
Review 28 (2022-05-08 - Rating: 4)
This speakeasy well hidden (no name on the frontdoor) is very interesting to know. The room is dark, well decorated in 1920, in a cosy ambiance. You have to go on thursday or sunday for the burlesque show. Its unbelievable. Four girls give a sexy but elegant show. Its hot, its beautiful, its artistic!Glitters, Feathers, Pearls, Splashes will excite you.Couples, dont be jealous ;-)Food : small plates to share are good but pricey.Beverages : there are all (yes all) the types of gin you want for your taste and delicious cocktails (not such expensive for NYC). -
Review 29 (2019-12-28 - Rating: 4)
Very cool NYC speakeasy. Can only hold a table for 2 hours, when we were asked to move but can stand at the bar still. Was hoping to stay a bit later there as there was a hint at burlesque shows. Service was okay, drinks are very expensive, but ultimately youre paying for this unique experience. Would only go there rarely. -
Review 30 (2022-07-26 - Rating: 5)
Best burlesque show in town (in my opinion). the host - bartenders - interior it all fits very well together and creates a stunning experience. drinks are good -
Review 31 (2022-07-30 - Rating: 4)
A very cool speakeasy and very vintage, unfortunately my crew was in a time crunch so we couldn’t really fully enjoy it. Definitely going to RSVP and give a better review when I come back. The drink that I had was “flippin good” and man let me tell you it was lol . But all the other drinks we had was all well made drink very strong worth the money. The staff was very attentive and lovely. If you can find it , came and check it out -
Review 32 (2024-09-16 - Rating: 5)
A cozy place to enjoy great cocktails and special G&Ts. We didnt know about their burlesqe show on sundays, but it was great entertainment (had goosebumps after their vocalist sang her song without microphone) -
Review 33 (2023-07-07 - Rating: 5)
Probably the most popular speakeasy bar in Midtown. The ambience is spot on and the waiters are attentive. Make sure you reserve before hand as it is a popular joint and always some wait time -
Review 34 (2024-11-02 - Rating: 5)
Speakeasy vibes were set. Once we found the door and made our way inside we were sat quickly (we had reservations). The tables were tight and felt like we were on top of the couple next to us. Luckily no one was on the other side so we could spread out a little bit. The drinks were delicious and strong! This was our pre-dinner stop so we didnt try any of the food, but there were several small plates that sounded interesting. Only wish is that the lighting was a tad dimmer, it felt too bright and took some of the allure away from the environment. -
Review 35 (2021-11-14 - Rating: 5)
This was the very first speakeasy I visited in NYC and it didn’t disappoint. I had an amazing time here. The drinks were fantastic, I ordered Tokyo Nights (must try). -
Review 36 (2022-05-03 - Rating: 5)
Soon after walking in this speakeasy bar l fell in love with it.The show was fun and having drinks in such exquisite ambiance was absolutely fantastic. The espresso martini was the best. I will definitely come back. -
Review 37 (2024-01-20 - Rating: 4)
Great ambiance, great drinks, but the need to work on their snack menu, especially because they dont allow outside food. -
Review 38 (2017-10-21 - Rating: 4)
Very cool novelty speakeasy experience.Behind a little coffee shop is an intimate bar and seating area.Drinks were excellent quality and they give you plenty of choices. (I ordered a special called The Bouquet)My friend ordered some of their hot tea vodkas (which arrived at our table in a spooky steaming teapot)Staff was friendly and attentive. We ordered the salad and some fries. Nothing out of the ordinary. If you go to Bathtub Gin, it should really be for a round or two of wonderful drinks before moving on to a dinner spot. We were told by the hostess that our table would be needed again by 8 (2 hours later) so this isnt a good place to lounge all night anyway.Would go back for a special occasion happy hour or a birthday. -
Review 39 (2024-08-03 - Rating: 4)
Overall experience: 4/5. solid espresso martinis and food. (empanada came super hard/crunchy/overcooked, but the inside was delicious)our waitress was quite rude (spilling water on the tables, refusing to take photos of the group) and gave our table away to another server without letting us know. granted we were a bit late to our reservation, we called in with ample time beforehand. our new server was such a vibe, and was able to extend our reservation for even longer!i’d definitely recommend, but service can be hit or miss. -
Review 40 (2024-08-18 - Rating: 4)
The draw is the chill vibe and of course the tub element. The DJ was good playing top 40s and some older songs. I didn’t think the cocktails were very strong but maybe it depends which you get. They have a variety of gin hence the name. I liked it there and would go again but maybe order off menu. -
Review 41 (2019-05-02 - Rating: 4)

Review 42 (2024-12-28 - Rating: 5)
Very nice place, good service. The late night shows are fun -
Review 43 (2023-05-09 - Rating: 4)
We didnt have a reservation so we had to wait to get in. The drinks were good, the two Hispanic bartenders were very cordial and i saw them interacting a lot with other people on the bar, the tall blong guy with a low ponytail looked like was having a bad night. The music was ok, couldve been better. -
Review 44 (2024-12-27 - Rating: 5)
We had a Wonderful time at bathtub gin!!! It was my husband and my second time. We happened upon it 10 years ago and were happy to revisit with our teen sons. It was their highlight to their first visit to NYC. The show was fantastic, food was great and Wonderful atmosphere, especially the Sunday burlesque show. -
Review 45 (2024-12-02 - Rating: 5)
Good cocktails, even better food, wasnt expecting the food to be this good, didnt try the dessert, will go again for it! -
Review 46 (2023-12-10 - Rating: 5)
Got to attend a private event here and it was an absolute blast. The theme was fun, food was great and drinks were interesting if a bit heavy on the sweet. Staff was fantastic as well. Whether looking for a drop in for a fun time in NYC or a place for private events I would definitely recommend. We had a ton of fun. -
Review 47 (2024-10-30 - Rating: 4)
Too much packed during the weekend and music is not good very commercial I was expecting more kind of jazz style. Cocktail are good and the menu is funny -
Review 48 (2019-07-28 - Rating: 5)
We order two drinks and a main dish. Everything was excellent. The service is the most notable aspect of this place. Low lights and an atmosphere that evoques the 60s. We recomend to make a reservation. -
Review 49 (2024-09-03 - Rating: 5)
We did not get food, but got drinks before a concert. The service was top notch and the drinks were out of this world. You can tell they really take the time to perfect everything. -
Review 50 (2023-12-12 - Rating: 5)
Ok... Its 12/12/2023. I just left Bathtub Gin. I went there solo just to have a drink so I can clear out some emails from my phone before I leave to go to bed. The ambiance is actually very good, decor is very well thought out, music at a noise level that allows you to have a conversation while being able to hear the music, and all the patrons there were very respectful of the space and the other guests. What I did not expect at all was how amazing the staff was. Everyone from the gentleman at the door, the young lady at the coat check, the bartenders inside and the lady attending the rest room had a demeanor that I really did not expect. Considering how intense New York is as a city their behavior was not just refreshing but actually surprising. I sat at the bar which Kayla and Astrid were working. Both of them, pleasant, smart, attentive, polite, endearing... what a serendipitous experience! It was my first time there but I can promise that it wont be the last. The stores management should be very proud of themselves that they were able to put together a team like that. -
Review 51 (2024-03-17 - Rating: 5)
We had the best time! Went on a Tuesday for burlesque. Booked an 8pm table, show is at 9. It was perfect timing. Our server was knowledgeable about every cocktail and menu item we asked about and she gave us very patient and detailed answers. If you are trying to book on RESY and can’t get the number of guests at the time you need, be sure to call the # on the Bathtub NY website and speak to a helpful human. We enjoyed a beer salad and a cheese plate; both were outstanding. Cocktails, mocktails, and wine were on point.Dancers were talented and very entertaining! Be sure to tip them. -
Review 52 (2024-09-12 - Rating: 5)
My drinks were just fine. Nothing amazing, but food was great (not pictured). We had fries with a miso aioli that were insanely good, as well as crispy bork belly and grits. Show was also nice -
Review 53 (2022-03-20 - Rating: 5)

Review 55 (2018-08-10 - Rating: 5)
Hello to one of my favorite places! Mikey, one of the owners, is a genuine person who has some pretty great businesses! I also occasionally eat at their healthy fast food restaurant Two Forks. If you happen to be in town on a Tuesday or Sunday, definitely book a reservation (better than standing) and watch the burlesque show! -
Review 56 (2023-12-04 - Rating: 4)
Pretty cozy & nice speakeasy. Has a coat check as you enter. The place is more for drinks than food I would say. Food is pretty decent not many options but whatever is in the menu, is good. I really liked the shrimp toast. The cocktails are good too. Good music & ambiance. Definitely make a reservation if u want to sit down & eat. -
Review 57 (2024-01-22 - Rating: 5)
I’ve been here several times and the experience is always amazing. One employee in particular, Astrid, never fails to go above and beyond for us. We’ve encountered her as a host, coat check, and even behind the bar. She is a gem, and has truly raised my standard for impeccable service. -
Review 58 (2019-03-19 - Rating: 5)
Yes, we are here for Bathtub Gin security officer. Be prepared to show your IDs upon entering the small entrance leads to a surprising exotic, dark and whimsical with a bathtub bar.Came with a group of 4. Order some finger foods, everything was amazing. It was a Monday night and the have live Jazz with a 1940 theme. We seat in the back closest to the stage, her voice and the bands took us to an imaginary place, like back in the old days with a cigar in hand. We had an amazing time. -
Review 59 (2023-05-23 - Rating: 4)

Gorgeous speakeasy bar! The food is delicious, the cocktails are out of this world (try the Halfway to Mexico for a unique mouthfeel). The burlesque show on Sundays and Tuesdays is an absolute treat to watch, highly recommend! -

First time I went there was a fake candy shop with a secret door that led to the main room. For winter I guess they made it into a huge coat closet. Makes sense.Stopped by for a quick drink and it didnt disappoint.Drinks were made in front of us and we were delicious. -

This place exceeded my expectations by quite a bit, and I was already expecting a good time. The band and the atmosphere was electric. I recommend sampling the gin and tonics they offer since it is their specialty. I didnt try the food but what I saw looked great. If youre thinking about stopping in here then stop thinking and give it a try. You will have a great night! -
Review 69 (2023-06-07 - Rating: 5)
A memorable experience. The food and drinks were exquisite. The service was top-notch. The outside was deceiving, but there is someone by the door to confirm you have arrived at the right location. Go to their website for a list of their daily events. PS reservations are needed, and please remember the name of your appointed host to your table. They can make great recommendations and full of ideas about food selections based on your mood or picky palette. My favorite drinks were under the Gin & Tonic. -

This Speakeasy inspired little gem of a find is worth the visit. I really appreciated all the fine details... From the old newspaper menu, coasters even the Bathtub Gin logo on the receipts. That said, if you are a gin lover... Or not... They will have something for you here that will suit your tastes. Try the Porters Tropical OldTom Gin. Loved the tropical notes in this... An easy drinker. -

Loved this speakeasy! But definitely try to make reservations if you can, otherwise you’ll be stuck waiting in a line outside like we were. But even without reservations, we only waited maybe 15 minutes to get in.My husband got the old fashioned and I went with the espresso martini. Both really good and we enjoyed the overall vibe. The coat check is also a nice touch, and the bouncer was really friendly. Would come back. -

Very cool environment. We were seated quickly and had a nice waiter. I enjoyed my blasta kick drink. Someone in my party had the Lil Miss Knickbocker. It was too sugary for our taste, however our waiter warned us. The truffle fries were pretty good as well. -
Review 82 (2021-08-04 - Rating: 5)
This speakeasy is a great place with 20s vibes, great cocktails and, of course, the highlight is the burlesque shows that fire up the place. Theres also a food menu that looked great, though we didnt get to try any of it this time. No pictures of the shows are allowed (and it makes sense). Very recommended experience! -

Great Speakeasy behind a coffee shop. Excellent martinis, every night is a show. Small food menu, but what they have is delicious. Excellent service. Will visit again. -

Love this place! Live performances are on point! Cocktails are boss! Well trained staff!Granted it is always packed, so make a reservation ahead of time. The staff is also always on the move so if you are expecting a private dining experience go some where else.Service is quick and you WILL be given an out by time, and expected to keep it. So know what you like, the staff can help you find what you want that suits your palate.Great for a first awkward date or to hang with a group of friends. The staff creates a private and communal feel at the same time so you can be private or part of the room.A must visit for NYC. -

Wanted to check out a speakeasy while I was in town and this one did not disappoint! The drinks are amazing, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the calamari w the wasabi Mayo was incredible. This is a brilliant bar whether you are a local or visitor but make sure to reserve a table, otherwise you most likely won’t get in since it’s a pretty small space. -

Small bar/ speakeasy with a line in the front that I would not wait for ever so we came back later after midnight and it was half empty but it had a great vibe! Place is definitely original with its bath tubs in the middle of the main room and in the bathroom. Great service in the bathrooms. Drinks were great! Barman was a bit reserved but it was already closing time. We sat at the bar and had a good time. -

Oh my gosh the manager of bathtub gin is the MAN!My purse was stolen from the bathroom. The manager literally walked all the way down the street in to Chelsea market and recovered my purse. I can not be more thankful for this amazing service. Give this man a raise. -

Love this gem! Speakeasy centrally located to other clubs so this is a perfect spot to pregame or just hang out! The service is amazing, except the bouncer is kind of dramatic. They have coat check and the music is super! -

Great spot for 2-3 people to have a conversation, but not great for groups. A reservation is probably a good idea. Practical matters aside, the cocktails are fantastic. When its quieter its a great place to tell the bartender what you like and get a bartenders choice. -

We are from Chicago visiting NY and wanted a cool fun place to go to and this place was amazing! Waitress was very helpful on the selection of cocktails that they have and the food was perfect. When we arrived we had to go through a coffee store front before we entered the actual bar. We made same day reservations without a problem. You only get the table for 2 hrs and we were fine with that....on the the next! I would highly recommend this place! -

This is a really fun bar cleverly hidden behind a coffee shop to give it a speakeasy-type feeling (hence the name). The decor is really nice inside, the staff is friendly, and the drinks are great! The drinks are also really strong. I wanted to try 2 cocktails, but I was so drunk after my first that I could barely finish it. Good thing they serve some excellent finger food to sober you up.The only suggestion I would give is to come early as it can get very crowded and noisy later in the night. -

Fantastic cocktails, great bartenders. Order off the menu or just tell the bartender your preferences, and theyll mix you up something special. Unless you love shoulder-to-shoulder crowds and noise too loud to hear over, get there before 6pm for the best experience. Make a reservation if youre more than 2-3 people or else expect all kinds of guff from the hosts and bouncers. -

Fun speakeasy with an energetic ambiance. Entering through the tiny Stone Street Coffee facade brings you into a den of iniquity! The bar is tight but manageable and the mixologists are fun to watch. With a reservation you can get a table, which I recommend. On certain nights theres a burlesque show and thats really fun! -

This venue is crazy fun! Its one of many hidden NYC gems. The drinks are worth the money, the food is delicious and is actually healthy without even knowing. And yes they really do have a bathtub inside where you can jump in and take photos of yourself sitting in a bathtub in a bar. Its great on a Friday night as the music is flowing and everyone is just having good times! -

Review 114 (2022-03-05 - Rating: 4)
Im a fan of the historic speakeasy. It looks like a coffee shop on the outside, buzz in, take coat off, greeted by a hostess in 1920s attire, and guided behind the door to the secret bar. No seats (disappointed) for drinks at the bar-stand only. You must schedule for a table. I intend to go back again! 👌 -

Everything about this place is fantastic, other than the prices; however, you have to be willing to pay for quality. Every drink we had was well mixed. The food we had was phenomenal. And the atmosphere was amazing. The Wasabassco Burlesque show was equally great, especially if you reserve a seat ahead of time. -

Been here for drinks, not for dinner. Cocktails were ok, and the staff was good and quick. Live music was amazing. It was really packed when I was there so I recommend going early or maybe having diner so you can get a table and being more comfortable than standing. You can also book in advance. -

Another one of the great speakeasy venues in Manhattan. Neatly hidden behind a coffee establishment, its nice, intimate and, as is customary, dark. They have an excellent drink menu and good small plates. Be sure to come on the days they do burlesque. Its definitely an experience. -
Review 119 (2022-12-06 - Rating: 5)
Hidden away in the backroom of a store front. This speakeasy has a 1910s feel with servers dressed to impress. They specialize in gin, having an amazing selection from around the world. Highly recommend the Blue Gin (Austria), slightly tart with a smooth finish. Also, we got the truffle fries. Tasted amazing and turned heads of all the people just arriving. -

Review 121 (2017-03-20 - Rating: 5)
Very hip and unexpected spot in NYC! I would definitely recommend visiting this place and getting one of their special, unique drinks! It tends to be fairly crowded, and its a place for conversation so it can be a little noisy, but if youre aware of the atmosphere before going into the place, its a good time! A friend brought me here, and walking through the coffee shop facade into a full-on bar was pretty cool for a Texas girl in the middle of NYC! -
Review 122 (2019-06-10 - Rating: 5)
My husband and friends went to Bathtub Gin for dinner and drinks. A really cool speakeasy located in Chelsea area. You need a reservation if you want to sit as it is fairly small. I cant say which I liked better the food or drinks as they were both AMAZING! It is expensive like any other trendy place in Manhattan so that is expected but worth the trip at least once. -
Review 123 (2018-08-15 - Rating: 4)
When we arrived, the bouncer asked for our reservation and we were moved through the coffeehouse to the speakeasy. The hostess was extremely courteous and even provided us with a bag for our wet umbrella. The drinks and our dinners were excellent (the scallops with risotto were delicious). I only reduced to 4 stars as service was very slow and the server was not cordial (We went at 4:50pm, so they were not overly busy to excuse to the curtness). -
Review 124 (2018-12-06 - Rating: 5)
Love this bar. Delicious cocktails and has some nice apps that you can order to enjoy. They have a full dinner menu but have only been here before for drinks. Its a little confusing to find as its in the back of the coffee shop; so not visible from the street. Enjoy! -

Great speakeasy behind stone street coffee. Always better to make a reservation ahead of time. The bar area is small and gets packed quickly (also can be really loud!). Overall, its a high quality experience - from the decor to drinks, setup and food. -
Review 127 (2014-09-03 - Rating: 4)
The cocktails at this speakeasy are top-notch. While the price reflects this quality, you really get what you pay for. The bartenders are very busy but polite and eager to please. If youre looking for additional entertainment, come here for the Wasabasco burlesque shows. Youre in for a treat. -

We read about this place online after looking for speakeasys in NYC. It was a great find. After reading that some were a little quirky and requiring reservations, I was afraid we wouldn’t get in. We walked up on a Saturday at around 5pm and were able to walk right in to at least have a few drinks. They were pricy, but some of the best we’ve ever had. Stayed until someone’s reservations were ready, but that was okay. I would recommend reservations, though. Great experience though! -
Review 130 (2016-09-12 - Rating: 5)
This was hands-down the best speakeasy Ive visited in NYC. Go in when they have live music. The ambiance is fantastic- its dimly lit, with a 20s vibe and very romantic in general. They serve mean cocktails and you could even get those in tea pots. -
Review 131 (2024-09-12 - Rating: 5)
We’ve been to Bathtub Gin several times now, and it’s terrific every time we go. After stopping into a small coffee shop, a password will earn you entrance into a secret prohibition-era speakeasy (and if you’re nice, the guy at the door will use your phone to capture it). When there’s no show, it’s a crowded popular bar for a very cosmopolitan set. A burlesque night is a special event, when women beautifully entertain a mixed crowd of patrons with dance and song. While risqué, it’s always been tasteful. The women and crowd both seem to have a great time. The menu, while limited, never fails to satisfy and the drinks, while pricey, are unique, thoughtful and almost always hit the mark. Mixology is an art here and as a non-drinker, the staff has never failed to surprise me with the attentive, original mocktail concoctions they create off-menu. Taste experiences.Even with a small glitch in one of our evenings, the management at Bathtub Gin managed to go above and beyond in making things right. Their servers are on top of their game and are always friendly. Every time we entertain in New York, we bring our friends to Bathtub Gin. It’s that much fun. -

Make a reservation!! Not necessary but itll save you waiting in line. The cocktail menu is extensive and the drinks were delicious. Intimate seating arrangements and areas for small groups. Its fairly loud so bring your outdoor voice. -
Review 144 (2014-06-01 - Rating: 4)
Yet another speakeasy that specializes in fantastic gin based cocktails. Besides the rude welcoming at the door which might have been an act, the ambience is great. Go on a Monday when they have old-school jazz night with a singer whose voice is as smoky as the cocktails at the bar. -
Review 145 (2023-07-11 - Rating: 4)
The drinks are very good. No tables without a reservation which is annoying. Does the pseudo speakeasy look the way people expect. -
Review 146 (2017-12-03 - Rating: 5)
Amazing experience! First thing that will fool is the location. If you add the address you arrive at a coffee shop. That has a wall which opens up to let you inside the restaurant. The cocktails are amazingly good! Food is expensive as you might expect in NYC, but exceptional! -
Review 147 (2023-08-07 - Rating: 4)
We all had the s’mores old fashioned and though it was decent, the drink was too sweet for us who prefer a more traditional old fashioned. The service was very friendly and he was very patient explaining the drinks. It is a cute date spot as well with some mood lighting but it can also probably be very loud depending on the time. They also have food which we didnt order but it looked good from seeing other tables -
Review 148 (2017-09-18 - Rating: 4)
This is a tough one... I have been wanting to visit this place for a while, and was expecting a speakeasy! Instead, ended up in a very loud club space with a younger crowd... Despite the limited number of bartenders (3) and large crowds, the drinks were exceptionally good, which says a lot of their craft... Maybe I should swing by earlier or during the week for a quieter atmosphere. -

Review 153 (2024-09-12 - Rating: 5)
Bathtub Gin is a not-to-be-missed entertainment and bar (shh!)-- err--- establishment that is a delight to experience. Over the last ten years Ive enjoyed at minimum of a dozen visits to this fine coffee shop and thoroughly enjoyed each visit, booking reservations for myself, family, friends. The cocktails are unique, delicious and innovative in the high level of mixology at work. The menu has never disappointed and, while a bit abbreviated, offers all thats really necessary (including vegetarian options) that well complement the beverage options, which clearly are the stars of the show. And the entertainment from the burlesque shows on Tuesdays and Saturdays to the other live entertainment/DJ, this establishment knows how to set a mood and deliver on hospitality. On my most recent visit, I did have a concern with one of two reservations booked over the course of the week in NY-- and the timing of the seating and the turn of the table for the first reservation for a show we were enjoying was challenging. While the evening was off and the night did not quite meet the expectations of previous visits, we were invited back to the property and shown outstanding service and treatment by management like Ive not experienced before. Specifically, Brendan Bartley, General Manager, gave careful and super conscientious attention to ensuring wed return, which we did and were once again wowd over the hospitality. In a time when hospitality and repeat visitation at restaurants/bars can be easily overlooked or succumb to inattention, the management team (as well as the servers, greeters, host, and Brendan all went above and beyond to make our second visit as delightful as it was. Hospitality truly means something here-- and Brendan ensures his team makes this high priority. Be sure to enjoy some coffee at Bathtub Gin... and more... book your reservation... it gets quite busy... as youd imagine, but its worth the advance reservations and any wait. Outstanding on hospitality and food and libations! Do not miss this place. Looking forward to getting back again soon. Standing ovation to Brandon, Henry, Joe-- (the best greeter for offering coffee and cream at the coffee shop!) and the host team. See you again soon! Jo from Orlando, FL. -

Let me take you on a journey: we came to celebrate a milestone birthday and had the BEST time at Bathtub Gin. The service was prompt, they took such good care of us! And the drinks were exactly what we hoped: strong and well made. But the **highlight** of our experience???Our server, Charity, took exceptional care of us. And? We were awestruck by her rubber duck earrings. I’d honestly come back because of her dedication to customer service AND bathtub puns. Please. Management. Make the rubber duck earrings part of the dress code. They go with the name of the bar: it JUST MAKES SENSE.Also! Bottom line: the best low key bar in the west village with great drinks and even better service -

Awesome speakeasy that Ill totally return to. Went here for a friends birthday and all she did was give me the address. I circled the block 2 times until I noticed a bouncer inside a empty/dark coffee shop. Didnt make sense for him to be standing there at 1 in the morning so I gave it a shot. Walked inside and he gave me a quick interrogation and then let me in through a secret door in the wall. Behind the closed door was a booming 1930s style bar with live music and a great crowd. I unfortunately didnt get to eat anything from the menu (something Ill do on my return) but the bartender sure knew how to put on a show and make some awesome drinks. A little pricey but I still enjoyed myself. -
