    Good service. Typical old grumpy waiter that gets more grumpy when you say youre not ordering any drinks. 1.5 inch thick ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare and soft as butter. While it was hot the fat seemed to melt in your mouth. Broccoli side was good.

    I’ve always wanted to visit here and when I finally did, it was too late at night (10 PM). The bartender was welcoming and humorous. As a party of two, we only grabbed two glasses of wine to be considerate of the kitchen staff, although they wanted to accommodate. I definitely need to return to have their steak.

    First time going for lunch. Place gets packed very quickly so you have to make reservations. The waiting staff is unbelievable and the meal was great. It is a little pricy but you get A LOT of bang for your buck. Large plates, hefty meals and excellent quality. Will definitely come back.

    One of the better steakhouse chains in NYC, Bobby Vans, is always solid. While Ive eaten at the Midtown West location more times, the original location at 230 Park has always been my favorite Bobby Vans. Todays visit did not disappoint!

    Very nice spacious steakhouse with excellent quality steaks and friendly staff. Enjoyed it much more than Smith & Wollensky. The food was incredibly tasty, the steaks were huge and full of flavor. Unlike many places in New York it will be cooked exactly as you like. Our group had fillet mignon and sirloin and both were great. The sides of veg and potatoes were wonderful and not too rich. The pepper sauce was also great. It’s a very nice spot if you want some great steak in the city. Also great for special occasions and catch ups (it’s nice and quiet but has a good atmosphere).

    Was in town and accidentally booked reservations at another Bobby Vans restaurant and came to this one instead. The host understood my error, smiled and sat us immediately for dinner. Our server was super personable, polite and funny! The food was delicious and came out quickly - we ordered calamari for appetizers, sirloin steak and Chilean seabass with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes for dinner, and my daughter had chicken Parmesan with a small side of pasta noodles. A little on the pricey side for the steak (I’m from Texas so it’s much cheaper at home 😊)but totally worth it! Great food, great service, chill atmosphere.

    It is a little pricey if that is a concern, but I have been there a few times. I have now had beef, pork and chicken from this establishment. All have been cooked exactly as requested. The servers and concierge are very tentative even though I dine alone. Most establishments over look an individual...not here. It is definitely a must try place, and the cartoons of all the famous ppl that have been there are fun to look at.

    Shared a great meal with an old friend. Food & Service were great. So was the location near Grand Central. The only challenge was the lunch crowd. We couldnt hear each other b/c it was sooo loud in the dining room. Once the room cleared about 1:30, we carried on our conversation.

    My friend Dennis is the sweetest person in the world. He give great customer service and is very comedic. Let’s not forget that he’s an awesome bartender and easy on the eyes ! If you sit at the bar ask for Dennis tell him Megan sent you!!

    My Dad took me for a nice dinner after the baseball. This was THE BEST steak I have ever eaten. Although it was the peitie fillet it was huge, we also ordered fries and mushroom as side dishes. Mike our waiter was sensational so friendly and up for a chat.

    Bobby Van’s is tucked away off of Hemsley Walk, and the entrance is art deco but reasonable unassuming.But it has a special place in my heart. Many years ago I came back into the city after a long work day. Most everything around Grand Central was closed, but I stopped by and found the bar at Bobby Van’s busy and LOUD. The dining room was closing down, but the bartender was extremely helpful and let me order a lobster cocktail and steak to take back to my hotel room. Best ‘room service’ ever.I recently had a chance to re-visit the restaurant. I wanted to sit at the bar, but it was very crowded. Despite a busy night and despite me being a single diner, the front desk staff was very accommodating and found me a table in the main dining room. I had the chop chop salad and, keeping with the theme, a veal chop. The waiter was very friendly and offered me a half portion on mashed potatoes as a side to the veal. Nice touch.Overall I would say the food was ‘good’ but not exceptional, and probably not as good as Keen’s or Smith and Wollensky. BUT, the service (15 years ago and now) at Bobby Van’s is exceptional and beats most restaurants that I have visited in NYC (especially the attention to a single diner, which is rare). Come here for the food, but stay for the service.

    Wow!!!! My boyfriend planned a date night here and wow was it fantastic. Chill vibe, classy but laid back environment. We both had the bone in rib steak which was phenomenal. Neither of us could finish our steaks and we aren’t light weights. The drinks were great and service was exceptional. I had a Baileys coffee at the end of the meal and it was fantastic. The sides were amazing also we had mashed potato and creamed spinach. Left overs the next day were also five star.

    This has been one of my favorite steak restaurants for many years. However this time was a bit different. The atmosphere was not there, and the service went down but still ok. The food stayed the same for the most part and thats why keep going back there. A big disappointment was the sirloin and the chocolate moose that wasnt even a moose. The other food was still as amazing as always.

    I went to Bobby Vans with a work colleague who goes there everyone he visits NY. I really enjoyed it. The staff were amazing so polite funny and were very attentive. We had a ceasar salad to start, which I demolished. For the main, we had the ribeye on the bone with that amazing sauce. The meat was cooked perfectly and the wine they recommended went really well. Thorough enjoyed, it took me about 20 blocks to walk it off!!!!

    My sister and I dined here February 2019. Sublime experience...excellent service, food, drinks and dessert. We were seated without having a reservation and then we were treated like royalty. It was her first visit to NYC, my third visit and this dining experience ended our visit exquisitely. Most memorable dining experience in NYC. Definitely on my list to enjoy again. Thank you to all of the staff for making us quite welcome at the last minute.

    Great steakhouse, all tables were full at dinner time. Both the food and service are impeccable. The staff are attentive and humorous, The rib steak is huge and tastes great. We were a party of 6 friends, delicious and nice dinner time.

    Tanya and the team were absolutely fantastic!!! The service was great and the food even better! The steak was outstanding - yet even as good were the sides…. You have to try the Marsala glazed mushroom side…it’s amazing! Love visiting New York steakhouses and this one is far and away worth the time and it still a value like no other!!! 10 Starts!!!!

    First time Ive visited Bobby Vans and I was very pleased. The staff was excellent, perfect level of attention to the table. There when you needed them but not in the way when you didnt. They were helpful with suggestions for some of our party who needed guidance.

    We went to Bobby Vans for business with a client of ours and this was one of the Best Steaks Ive ever had! We also ordered the large steak sandwich appetizer which was too big even for 8 people. The staff was very knowledgeable and I think all of them were all old, Italian dudes which I thought was cool. Ive recommended others visit and theyve all walked away very happy that they went.

    Gotta love this staple of New York City. If you are ever near Grand Central Station. I urge you to break out your best suit and tie. Eat as if you drip of wealth and charisma. Once you walk in youll be greeted like family and seated as if it was Sunday dinner. The menu is top of the line. Atmosphere here is perfect for a business meeting with a potential new partner, or just the family. I can guarantee the steak will leaving your mouth watering. If it wasnt already once you walked through the door. A1 all across the board. 👌

    Bobby Vans where all the business people eat. They have a delicious steak.. everything else they have is very tasty. Took my kids and wife to eat there one night and they were craving chicken tenders after a week long trip of eating fine restaurants. They did not have chicken tenders on the menu but they were very happy to make their own chicken tender dish for my kids. Very nice people and very accommodating. And they nice settings to eat dinner.

    Amazing service and the steak was top tier! This is coming from someone who has been to MANY steakhouses around the world).We had a late reservation, but my parents were stuck in Grand Central Station where all exits were closed by NYPD due to on-going protests. The host promised that the kitchen would stay open until my parents arrived - and he kept that promise. The entire restaurant staff were super warm, kind, and understanding.Later on, I asked our waiter to recommended a sauce, and he insisted I pair my steak with their complimentary sauce. I’m not entirely sure if he suggested this because they were close to closing, but I took it as “wow, theyre not jumping at the opportunity to up-charge for some unnecessary sauce like many other steakhouses.” Needless to say, the sauce really was good and the Medium Rare Porterhouse for 4 was too good to put into words.Thanks for an amazing time! 10/10

    One of the standard steakhouses in the city. This one has a soft spot in my heart because it was my first NY steakhouse and I have been there many many times. Good service and good food and I always enjoy the seafood tower although nothing that necessarily stands out over the other contemporary steakhouses, but I am rounding up an extra star for nostalgia sake.

    The lambchops & mint jelly were the best any place on Earth could offer. I went for my 50th B-Day via reservations, it was great! I returned 2/8/22 (3 years later), for take out burgers, as businesses in NY are suffering a bit. My advice, dont let this place close. The service is still 5 star and whether you wear a vest, jacket or jeans, business lunches remain the heartbeat of the city. Get here soon! You really cant close a business deal at a food truck.

    Before I begin, I must say, this place is high class and very classy and quiet expensive. Oh okay! Lets dive into details. I was invited by a prominent friend to dine at this restaurant and I really enjoyed my time there, the food was by far the very best Ive ever had at a restaurant in the city.     Often go to this iconic steak house with friends and family. The quality of the meat is better than most steakhouses, although not stellar. The service has always been excellent, and the waiters are always nice and give you sound advice on the menu. My go-to steak is the Porterhouse, and I always get a side of creamed spinach, you cant go wrong.

    We went to the Park Ave location for our 2 year wedding anniversary, and every time we have been there the food has been amazing. Mike is an exceptional waiter with a great personality and even greater recommendations .... listen to him when he says something on the menu or something on the specials menu is good!!!! Great experience....ask for Mike when you go in you wont be disappointed!!!!

    A great lunch spot. The double pork chop lunch is enough for two people. No kidding. Fantastic flavors. The house burger (not on the menu) is very good. Great fries. Basically everything we order is always good. Old-school waiters are pros. Nice bar and strong martinis! Have fun.
