    After walking around for mist of the day and finishing at Hudson Yard, we googled local bars and opted for Break Bar. We initially thought that the bar might have pool tables, but the break relates to glasses and bottles! Finish a drink, put it in a bucket and build up your stock pile to start smashing them against a wall in the back of the bar. A projector displays random images that you can target, certainly was a lot of fun.As for the alcohol, a well stocked bar of liquor, plenty of choice and plenty of beer on tap.Fancy a cocktail, Eliza mixed a very decent Old Fashioned!If smashing glasses is not your thing, chill at the bar and watch some sport.We had a great time and will go back for sure!

    I visited this place for the first time with a group, and it was such a blast! When you enter, you need to sign a waiver and get a wristband. After finishing your drink, you have the option to rinse your glass and head to the throwing room, where various slides of people and characters are displayed for you to throw your glass at. They provide safety goggles, along with a solution and rag to clean them before use. The staff are friendly and energetic, and the bartenders make great drinks. I made sure to take advantage of their 2-for-$15 shots (the PB&J shot is amazing). If youre not into heavy drinking, you can just buy a bucket of glasses to smash. Beyond the drinks and glass throwing, they also offer some games in the back, and there are different TV shows and movies playing at the bar for extra entertainment. It’s definitely a unique spot to check out if youre looking for a bar thats a bit out of the ordinary!

    After work I decided to go visit my fiance at work, she got off a little bit early. So we decided to go home early together, as soon as we stepped outside into the street level It started raining. We didnt hear about it raining that day so we didnt come prepared with umbrellas unfortunately, so we decided to go to a bar near by in the area until the rain stops in 1 hour as the weather app instructed us. We stop by this location called The Break Bar. Ive heard many great things about this location before so I was pretty excited to be taking my fiance. In the Entrance youll have to show your ID to get in just like any other locations in the city, The security guard was very friendly. Service was perfect, drinks were excellent, Price was fare and it was a great environment overall. Music was awesome, we listened to a lot of good old school music as well as some new. We noticed a few different types of people with helmets and goggle protecting glass walking towards the back area we also noticed that there is a plastic glass from one wall to the other which made us extremely curious. We asked the bartender what was that about. The Bartender said that is a breaking station and we asked to elaborate. She said that were allowed to break and smash all the cups we drink from or were allowed to bring any electronics or anything we feel we want to break or smash. She explained a lot of people in this area work really hard and have stressful days. So like the movie film called Office Space youre allowed to bring in any types of electronics that you really dont care for and smash it all. The whole object is to go into this room with a metal bat and break it to release stress from work or stress from anywhere else. She even said if you have a TV that your ex-boyfriend or girlfriend owned and they left it at your house, bring it in and you can smash it. You have to sign a release form and wear some protected goggles, I believe you have about 30 minutes to smash or break as much as you can, if you dont want to drink or order food you can just simply order a bucket of 10 empty beer bottles to smash on the floor or with the wall, I believe they charge $20 per bucket. You could drink while you do it or not depending what you want to do. It was very exciting but we had to pass at the moment because we had other obligations but we will definitely be visiting again because the service was superb. Thanks guys!!

    I have to say, best experience I’ve ever had. Definitely worth trying it if you’re in the mood to break stuff. Vibes were chill and people behind the bar were great and attentive. Shoutout to Kat for hooking us up with some pizza! Girl! You saved the night :)

    From the moment we walked in, my friend and I felt at ease in this nice bar. With its classic bar top and cozy tables, its a welcoming spot and friendly people around. The music is perfectly balanced, allowing for easy conversation and enjoyment of drinks and snacks. I mean its not too loud like other places here in the city. I particularly love that we could smash glasses against the wall after drinks - it was therapeutic! lol! Yes, I loved it. 💯Giovanni - one of the friendly bartenders -took the time to explain to us how to smash the glasses and and even took some pics of our visit (although they dont quite do justice to the excitement of the momen 🤣!).Sure thing! Well definitely be back to this place again!

    Awesome experience ! Would go back anytime I want to smash things. You can smash anything you drink in a separate room. The smash room was set up with weapons and things to destroy. Jacket, gloves and helmet were given for safety. You can purchase additional things to destroy.One great experience. Perfect to do with friends/ coworkers. Good prices, good service, awesome concept.     Went a few weeks ago to celebrate my boyfriend and his twin’s birthday. It was great experience overall, the staff were helpful. The drinks and food were good. We did an open bar for two hours and people enjoyed breaking the glasses after it ended.

    The bar itself didnt look welcoming and the smell inside was disgusting. The wrecking room was a lot of fun. They also provide protective clothes, so on. Dont forget your playlist: they have an iPhone adapter to connect to the speakers. Overall I liked the experience, but check out all the photos before going in order not to be disappointed.

    Came here for the first time with a group and it was such a fun experience! When you first come in, you sign a waiver and are given a wrist band. Once you finish your drink, you have the glass rinsed out and can go to the throwing room where a bunch of different slides are put up of people/characters so you can throw your glass at them. Safety goggles are provided, along with a solution and rag to wipe them before you wear them. The staff is friendly and fun, and the bartenders made good drinks. Took advantage of the 2 for $15 shots while there (the PB&J shot is so good). If you don’t want to drink heavy, you can just buy a bucket of glasses to throw. Aside from the drinks and glass breaking, they also have some games in the back and the bar has different TV shows/movies playing if you need some other form of entertainment. Definitely a great spot if you want to try a bar that’s a bit different than the rest.

    I recently hosted my birthday party at Break Bar. I did the open bar package with a group of friends and it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! This was one of the coolest experiences I have had in NYC. The drinks and cocktails were delicious, and the staff is super accommodating. Shoutout to Noah and Sushmita for being awesome and for making us some great drinks!!     Break bar was so much fun , the drinks were good , the vibes were great , they have games a couple arcade games it was really fun to play , and the smash room where you smash all the drinks you have was my favorite thing, had a great time , will be coming back for sure !!     I came here for a semi small reunion with some high school friends and we had a blast. The place is smaller than I thought but it was cool. Only complaint was there was only 1 bartender working and there was a pretty decent sized crowd before my group came in. My group had the 2hr happy hour open bar package which you can get if you book a reservation with 10+ people. With fees and taxes it works out to about $58/pp. After you drink you can go into the break area where you throw your drink glasses which is pretty fun. I thought it would be more of a place where you smash all kinds of stuff but this was a nice spot as well. The food was pretty decent all I had was waffle fries though. Overall I had a pretty good time there and I would definitely return.

    If you want to take out your frustrations, this is THE PLACE! You get to break all your glasses. The staff was really friendly and saw how one of our group was really psyched to be there & she just gave us a bucket w/bottles and glasses to break. Forewarning, though, you better break the bottles! I got a bit of a scolding(in good fun) when I failed to break a wine bottle. This is a really fun bar to grab a few drinks, break a few bottles and continue to enjoy the cool neighborhood.

    We went to break bar and the food wasn’t that great but NOAH! And Alexis the manager made sure that we were THROUGHLY taken care of, after we complained that the food wasn’t to our liking they made sure to ask if we wanted anything else and were super attentive. We’re mourning a death as a friend group and it was really comforting to have such care even at a rage bar 🥹

    Stopped in for a post show drink and really enjoyed the experience. Smashing stuff is always fun, and it is handled in a safe and inclusive manner. Drinks are reasonably priced, with the typical selection youll expect on a midtown bar.I would kindly suggest to remind the bar staff to remember that in any great establishment, the last guest should receive the same treatment as the first. This is midtown, and being on a Sunday double is no reason to be short and rude with guests. I had a particularly hard time getting someone to explain the rules of the bar, and it almost felt like the bartender was just trying to run the clock down to closing. I had a friend that chugged a drink last minute so she could break the glass, and the bartender accused her of throwing the full drink to smash and leaving him to clean up the mess.We were also frequently reminded that gratuity was not included, insinuated that we were not intending on tipping. As a service industry professional for over 15 years working not too far from that place, I can tell you that those last minute guest, while sometimes frustrating, tend to tip really well in appreciation of the late night service.If you want Sunday double money, expect to do Sunday double work. Everyone understands what a long work day feels like, but noone expects to be treated differently because of it.That said, I will definitely be back with friends and hope to catch the staff in a more receptive mood.

    Amber, the mixologist, not only made us delicious drinks but also made our first time at Break Bar amazing. We asked for her recommendation for drinks and she made them to perfection! Would definitely visit again, and highly recommend going when Amber is there!

    One of the best bars in NYC. Bre and Jeff always take care of us when we are there...their attitude and service towards their customers is amazing, always make you feel like you are all friends there and not just customers. Service is great and always on point. Food is great and the timing is on point! The rest of the staff are all great people and always friendly. Concept of the bar is great to let off some steam! Plus during this whole covid time the bar is always clean and sanitary! Overall 10 star rating! Will def be coming back here a lot so highly recommended for everyone !!

    Such a cool concept and a nice way to decompress (if that’s what you need!). Come in, sign a waiver, buy a drink, and go full Thor smash after wards! Some people smashed after every drink others bought a ton and smashed them all at once, but just know the “break bar” is a bit smaller so not many people can fit in there and you need protective glasses! also need to rinse out your cup before you throw.

    Location is really small bar, but great place to break some glass and electronic! Its pricey and fun. But gets REALLY hot in the room, and its SUPER loud when everything breaks, I absolutely recommend bringing a pair of earplugs to help. Also they only have an iPhone connection to play your own music in the room while breaking stuff, so make up a good playlist!

    Small NYC bar near Madison Square Garden, that allows you to break and smash your cocktail glasses or beer bottles once you’re finished drinking from them.Additionally, you can reserve a room that allows you to destroy and smash larger items.     I had a good experience here, we were greeted at the door filled out our waivers and seated until it was our turn for the rage room. items were cleaned, saw other protective gear being cleaned by staff so I do believe its covid safe. the breaking of everything and anything was such a rush.. The option is there to add more items if youd like to and be billed after, chances are you will add more just, just didnt want it to end lol. great for letting off steam Id say.
