This is a nice restaurant for a delicious brunch. It was my first time at a Moroccan restaurant, and I had a great experience with really tasty dishes. We ordered the Moroccan Benedict and Malawach, and both were delicious. The Malawach was something I don’t usually have for breakfast, but if you like spicy food, I’d recommend trying it with the Moroccan sausage on the side. The service was great, and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

Went for brunch in east village and there was surprisingly no wait but the seating is tight. i got the moroccan eggs benedict and it was p good. nothing life changing but solid. the hummus is very smooth

Always busy here it seems but well worth getting a table inside or outside if you wish. Some wonderfully tasty options, with good size portions. So busy though that my table of four guests all felt guilty to sit there afterwards to enjoy the moment, as the queue was building up outside!Veggie and gluten free options, always good to discover!

We were in the mood for Moroccan food and online reviews said this place was good so we made a reservation to check it out.overall the place is good with good service, decent portion and decent flavors. we started off with the greek salad and the hummus and then got the halloumi skewer and chicken tangine. the hummus was served with pita but it was actually frozen naan and they were not good. the hummus was decentthe couscous plate was a decent portion and had good veggies - the chicken was a bit bland and could’ve used some more flavor. the halloumi was decent but it was definitely not a veggie skewer that accompaniedoverall - decent food and good portion size but flavor is a bit lacking

Had the Morrocan Eggs with Spicy Mergeuz as well as Morrocan Mint Tea for a late breakfast. While I wished they served a little more bread it was quite tasty. The interior of the restaurant made me think of the movie Casablanca and as I went to the restroom to conclude my business a poster of the movie was right there. Apparently they were thinking what I was thinking.

You can’t get wrong here. Everything is so delicious! Homey atmosphere, home style cooked meals. Highly recommend. The cuscus was delicious and I don’t say that about every cuscus… Enjoy!

Go for: Superb North African and Middle Eastern food at all the meal times.Avoid if: You have a hard time being in packed, extremely busy establishments.Something surprising: In the summertime, the seating spills over into the street.Reservation needed? Not usually, but expect a wait at peak meal times.Overall Experience: 4/5. This place is one of those establishments that makes you appreciate New York City. Absolutely love this restaurant! Delicious healthy food and large portions with fair prices❤️ it was so hard to choose from weekend breakfast menu. I decided on halloumi cheese and wasn’t disappointed.

  • Review 9 (2024-03-31 - Rating: 5)

I briefly humiliated myself in front of our beautiful waitress by mistaking their window for a door, but recovered flawlessly and had an excellent meal. Whoever designed this space is damn good at their job, the interior is spacious yet cozy with a good homey feel. Great environment. Staff were awesome, everyone around us was dressed fabulously and having dramatically intellectual conversations. I got their Sabich sandwich, which was a new food for me, and now a new favorite. My father got the chicken kebab, as I dont eat chicken I cant confirm but he said it was excellent and he was a big fan of their fries and spicy ketchup. We had a great time here, highly recommend.

  • Review 10 (2024-09-18 - Rating: 5)

I liked the chicken tagine; it tasted like a dish with indian chutney with balanced sweetness and spiciness. Cous cous went well with the casablanca sauce that was recommended to me. I never had Moroccan food before but its whet my appetite and I want to try more in the future.Non food related but the staff look like runway models who are working here part time. I can see why theres so many regular customers here.

  • Review 11 (2024-07-13 - Rating: 5)

There really is a reason why it has been there for years… food really surprised me. I got the soup of the day (a veggie blend) and it was so unique and refreshing. And the lamb shank was good ofc just wished it would be spicier. The salmon salad was surprisingly good too. There seemed to be some subtle elevation in the most common food and I’m here for it! But had to say the place is a bit heated and the service was friendly but slow

  • Review 12 (2024-04-27 - Rating: 4)

Nice place for brunch, good service and atmosphere. Not the most extraordinary food you will ever eat, but worth the visit. We loved their hummus. And their pita was AMAZING!

  • Review 13 (2024-04-19 - Rating: 5)

Came here for brunch! Cafe Mogador being a Moroccan restaurant, there is definitely a delicious twist to the items they serve. We got the eggs benedict & moroccan eggs with a side of fries. The eggs benedict was solid, and the moroccan eggs were incredible. Like a shakshuka, it is heavy on the tomato base. I particularly enjoyed being able to taste the smokiness of the dish—I’m still thinking about how good it was!Note that they do have various cocktails, but don’t have mimosas readily available. Because the cups are also really small, I recommend just getting a bottle of champagne and having a good time :)Service is speedy & consistent, and the ambiance is bustly & casual. Overall, a great brunch spot in the village that I will definitely be returning to!

  • Review 14 (2024-09-03 - Rating: 5)

I love the food!! Is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC!! The chicken tanging is delicious!

  • Review 15 (2024-09-25 - Rating: 5)

This place is on my MUST SEE list whenever in NYC. I always get the lemon tagine (with lamb). It’s 20/10 the best best.

  • Review 16 (2023-03-17 - Rating: 5)

Incredible place, love it!!!Very cozy, down town vibes with many seating options including patio and bar.Its one floor, street level. The menu is Moroccan / middle eastern inspired. I ordered a variety of traditional dishes that all went well to my satisfaction. The Tagine (with couscous) and topped with traditional lemon sauce and olive is something you must try if you want to explore ethnic food, so delicious.Friendly staff, excellent service.NO online reservation, walk in only, we waited 45 minutes for a table.

  • Review 17 (2024-10-16 - Rating: 5)

This place is amazing … I love it equally and exceptionally for brunch and dinner. The quality of food is amazing and extremely reasonably priced. People I bring here adore it. I’ve been to other locations too which were also great and consistent. Highly recommend!

  • Review 18 (2023-02-22 - Rating: 4)

Atmosphere is inviting and beautifully decorated.Soup and couscous are delicious and exemplify Moroccan cuisine.Service is a letdown with disorganized and uninterested staff. If you dont mind bad service, the restaurant may be worth checking out for the delicious food and beautiful ambiance.

  • Review 19 (2020-09-10 - Rating: 5)

This is one of my favorite nyc places! There hummus platter / mixed platter is really great. All fresh and tasty. I often times go for the veggie couscous (ask for extra soup there) good coffee, Great cocktails and the vibe is awesome. Always kind service and just good vibes. We were 3 people last night hand some drinks and a bottle of wine + food and its was all really around 55 each. Good value I feel. Usually those dishes were bigger but corona does hit us all. Much love.

  • Review 20 (2024-08-31 - Rating: 5)

Excellent food. I got the Hummus appetizer, best hummus I’ve ever had! For dinner I had the Casablanca Tagine with rice and chicken. Also delicious. Service was good with attentive staff. Pretty busy on a Friday night so you need a reservation if you want to sit inside! I will definitely come back!

  • Review 21 (2023-07-18 - Rating: 5)

Great, casual option for some delicious Middle Eastern food in the neighborhood. Prices are good and food comes out quickly. The breakfast menu is served until late in the day, offering a bit more variety in the afternoon than you might find elsewhere.

  • Review 22 (2023-10-24 - Rating: 4)

Delicious tagine, hummus and skewer, but we were crammed packed into a small table which were filled with dishes. The restaurant gives a cozy homey feel, and was jam packed. The service was a bit slow and waiter missed one of the orders that took much longer to come out.

  • Review 23 (2024-10-25 - Rating: 5)

We had our rehearsal dinner here last week in the private room and it was the most special time. Jacob was so helpful in setting up and managing the event and the servers and food were absolutely 👌👌👌 Every bite here is excellent!

  • Review 24 (2023-03-27 - Rating: 5)

I visited Cafe Mogador this Saturday with some friends. The food and ambiance were great, so was the service. For Mezze, hummus was good. For the entree I had “From The Grill- chicken kebab”, which was really good. Two of my friends tried vegetarian couscous, and liked it. However the place has very limited vegetarian options. We went without a reservation and the wait time was about 1 hour 15 min in the afternoon.

  • Review 25 (2022-07-16 - Rating: 5)

Beautiful place with a nice middle eastern music , the design is so authentic and beautiful. The lamb was so well cooked in a caramilized onion sauce , so tasty , sure I will go back to try other meals . Also The stuff are so nice and very welcoming

  • Review 26 (2019-06-02 - Rating: 4)

Another great place to find middle eastern food. It’s a big space, a little bit low on light but you can definitely have a nice conversation with your friends. The mezze dishes were quite small and the food presentation was not impressive but it was delicious. This is a nice place for brunch if you are spending your day in the East Village.

  • Review 27 (2022-12-14 - Rating: 5)

This place was recommended by one of my customers. She was so excited to tell me what did she have for her dinner, and how delicious it was. So, I can’t wait to visit this place. Instead of dinner, I decided to try out for breakfast. My customer was right, the foods were so pleasant. My bf & I ordered 2 types of Egg Benedict and a small Turkish coffee. The benny here is my favorite and I can tell it’s one of the best benny I ever have. For the coffee, I am not a big fan of ground inside coffee so I think it’s a little bit too harsh for me. However, if you are fine with ground in coffee, you will definitely love it. I highly recommend Cafe Mogador. You should give it a try !!

  • Review 28 (2018-02-03 - Rating: 5)

The lunch special is a pretty great deal, appetizer and main course that were both delicious. The presentation of the tagines isnt anything like Morocco, but the taste is pretty darn close and the soup was delicious. The chicken was super tender and the couscous was better than I expected. Good service and plenty of seating make this a go to spot for me.Went back for dinner, and everything was still great. The lamb was delicious and cooked perfectly. Service was friendly and fast despite the crowd.

  • Review 29 (2024-11-12 - Rating: 5)

Iconica NYC staple. Favorite NYC restaurant both locations - although if you go on FRI/SAT night good luck! You will have to wait. Their recipes are divine.

  • Review 30 (2024-08-13 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely lives up to the hype! Oh baby the food was delicious! Highlights were the vegetable curry (was on specials menu so not sure how often it’s available) and the baba ganoush. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

  • Review 31 (2024-10-17 - Rating: 4)

A small cozy place. As often happens in New York, its old and shabby, with scratches on the mirrors and its own smell, decorated in a mismatched way—just the way it turned out. The staff is very young and friendly. At one point, the waiter suggested clearing all the plates, even though we had just barely touched our food. The pita bread with hummus could have been served hot; that would have made it tastier. Instead, it was cold and already stuck together. The hummus seemed a bit watery, lacking in flavor. The Greek salad was ordinary—neither particularly good nor bad. The baba ganoush was decent, but it lacked the characteristic smokiness of the dish. The Moroccan iced tea without sugar was okay. The bill wasn’t too high. I probably won’t recommend it to my friends, and for next time, I’ll choose something else.

  • Review 32 (2024-09-17 - Rating: 5)

Put this quaint little restaurant on your to visit list! The ambiance is perfect from the lighting to the music and decor and of course my main thing is cleanliness and warm friendly staff from the moment you walk in and greeted by beautiful people. The chicken Casablanca Tagine is a delightful mix of sweet and tanginess with falling off the bone chicken. I finished it off with Turkish coffee (I am indeed a coffee snob) and fresh baklava!!

  • Review 33 (2023-08-24 - Rating: 5)

Oh man this place is a goodie! If you’re looking for an awesome quick bite that’s awesome. If you’re looking for some place to talk and link up, also great. Have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. The small plates are absolutely great to share and very delicious.

  • Review 34 (2023-09-18 - Rating: 5)

I was attracted by the name and it is my first time trying Moroccan food. This is a very busy and popular place, and I feel very happy make it my first choice! :D We had lamb rack tagine with couscous, chicken kebab with rice, and knafeh as dessert. The lamb was superb soft and well prepared. I shall also recommend the knafeh with pistachio. The staffs are very friendly there!

  • Review 35 (2024-09-30 - Rating: 4)

Reasonable wait on a Friday night for a table of two (approx 20 mins), so definitely try to grab a seat even if you don’t have a reservation. The food was made fresh, we especially enjoyed the bastilla! Staff was efficient and great atmosphere, super cozy with plenty of seating.

  • Review 36 (2024-07-23 - Rating: 4)

Food tasted good, smaller portions than I was expecting though. Inside atmosphere is nice, although slightly packed— you and other diners can easily bump into each other while trying to enter and exit your seats.

  • Review 37 (2018-05-23 - Rating: 5)

Went for breakfast and was not disappointed. Turkish coffee was delicious. Our entrees were amazing. Large portions perfect for a day on our feet. Outside and inside seatingDefinitely will be back here to eat again.

  • Review 38 (2024-02-24 - Rating: 5)

Magador has been my favorite place in NYC for many years. Specials come and go and may vary in taste and quality but the core things we love them for they never disappoint: Bastilla and Tajine.

  • Review 39 (2019-06-01 - Rating: 5)

Fantastic food! An LES institution, the place certainly lives up to its popularity and praise on Yelp. The place has an artsy, warm, and modern in the 70s vibe.Got ourselves a table after a 15 min wait on a Saturday evening. Tried the paratha sampler and tandoori chicken. Both were excellent. The sampler came with lightly spiced and creamy chickpeas and potato dips and cucumber yogurt. The chicken was superbly marinated and tender.Look forward to go back soon to try the Moroccan entrees.

  • Review 40 (2024-10-29 - Rating: 4)

I found that the atmosphere and service at the Manhattan location was definitely better than the service I endured at the Brooklyn Location. At the Manhattan location I felt the service way extremely better and our waitress was on point and courteous.

  • Review 41 (2024-01-14 - Rating: 5)

Casablanca Moroccan tagine andMixed grill were yummy. Also get the halloumi cheese. Service was quick and wait was only 10 min for Saturday brunch.

  • Review 42 (2024-09-25 - Rating: 5)

The best breakfast spot in the East Village. Every dish is delicious, you cant go wrong. They do a great job maintaining old school EV vibes.

  • Review 43 (2024-07-08 - Rating: 5)

It’s a Moroccan restaurant located in East Village with good brunch options. I visited this place on a Sunday and there were plenty of sitting options. There are both in door and out door sitting options.People working there were very friendly and the service was fast. I can recommend egg Benedict which tasted really good.

  • Review 44 (2024-05-03 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 45 (2024-11-02 - Rating: 4)

  • Review 46 (2022-04-20 - Rating: 5)

SO GOOD! Everything we got was so scrumptious- our waiter was super friendly and gave us his recommendations of the menu and went into depth of each dish. We all got something different on the menu and we all loved every single one! The place was completely packed even for a Tuesday night and it was such a fun vibe! Need to try it their brunch next time :)

We went to Mogador at this location -101 St Marks Pl twice during out stay in New York – Highly recommended if you are craving for Mediterranean food.Recommend the Hummus and the Falafel in appetizer and in the main dish recommend the Chicken Kabob and the Kefta Kabob. It comes with the Pita which was soft and freshThe Kefta Kabob had a lot of flavors and the rice that comes with it was very flavorfulAlso recommend the Chocolate Mouse in dessert. One recommendation -Book ahead of time as we had to wait for at least 30 mts for getting seated. There is option for seating outside which was niceI did saw an issue with the size of the table for two persons. Since me and my daughter went the second day – The table was not enough to place two plates and the appetizer as they were delivered back-to-back

  • Review 48 (2024-09-10 - Rating: 4)

Just tried out this Moroccan restaurant and I have to say, it was amazing! The food was so flavorful and delicious, and the vibes were just perfect. The staff were super friendly and charming 😉 and made the whole experience even better. Id definitely recommend checking this place out for a fun and tasty meal. Cant wait to go back and try more dishes!

Welcome to the old worldI remember the days of my childhood when one was able to sit down at a restaurant and fit in a few rounds of cards before the food arrived. These days this has, sadly, almost completely disappeared - to be replaced by waiters who will demand your dessert order before youve even stepped over the threshold. Not so at Cafe Mogador, however, which offers a veritable oasis of times gone byI visited this restaurant on a Tuesday, a quiet day by many standards - leaving one expecting the kitchen to be pummelling the dining room with food faster than Andy Murray can serve to secure an extra dollar or two in tips.Upon arrival, the waitress said food would take about 20 to 30 minutes - which it did. Afterward, we also ordered dessert which, again, took 20 to 30 minutes to arrive.I was so overjoyed by these pauses - allowing me to actually relax and enjoy my visit - that I began to wish I actually HAD brought along my battered old playing cards in order to fully relive the days of old.

  • Review 50 (2021-04-21 - Rating: 5)

Mogador is a true gem in the east village. Everything on the menu is filling and full of flavor, the staff is incredibly welcoming and make you feel right at home, and the dishes are (relatively) affordable for what they are. They’ve been there forever and I hope they’ll stay.

  • Review 51 (2022-06-07 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 55 (2024-07-20 - Rating: 5)

The food and service was excellent! Its a very popular place and therefore very crowded and the noise level is really high. It made it challenging to have a conversation especially as one of our party has hearing issues.

  • Review 56 (2021-04-05 - Rating: 5)

Delicious food!I got the hummus falafel plate, but I devoured it so quick I didnt even get a picture of it. LoL Also had the fries with carissa ketchup which were yummy... And ask for a mix of the mint lemonade and Moroccan iced tea which was tasty!

  • Review 58 (2022-01-26 - Rating: 5)

We are locals and have both dined in and ordered delivery from cafe Mogador. The food is always delicious whether it’s breakfast/brunch or dinner. It’s a popular brunch spot and can get busy, but definitely a restaurant worth trying if you are in the neighborhood.

  • Review 59 (2019-04-30 - Rating: 4)

  • Review 68 (2018-05-18 - Rating: 4)

Good Morrocan food in a nice setting. Not as quite as good as the Morrocan food we had in France, but we were happy with our meal. Chicken tangine with preserved lemon and olives, Merguez sausage with couscous, orange almond cake, spicy carrots, and pickled beets.

  • Review 69 (2023-06-15 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 74 (2021-04-23 - Rating: 5)

My partner and I are of Caribbean descent and well traveled native New Yorkers, we love flavor, decor and authenticity. Cafe Mogador is a delightful establishment. Upon arrival you may find it hard to locate with the signature restaurant tuck away but once you do, youll notice its compact but intimate design. Seat outside or inside but all the same enjoy wonderful Moroccan cuisine. The staff if attentive and more than willing to explain dishes and their favorite. My favorite was the Hot Cider and Iraqi Breakfast.Things of notice: Wheelchairs ♿ probably will have to dine outside. COVID-19 precautions are followed to a tee. Early is better, because this a popular spot.

  • Review 80 (2024-05-27 - Rating: 4)

Came here recently for the first time in 15 years. The place looks much the same, but seems to have gotten a slight cosmetic facelift - perhaps paint and some decor. The food was solid. I got the Morrocan Breakfast with scrambled egg and really enjoyed the blend of flavors in the tabouleh and the cucumber salad. The eggs could have used a little more flavor, but overall the breakfast was a nice balanced meal. The service was very kind, they made a point of not trying to rush us out even though we knew their busy time was coming up. Would return!

Been coming here for over 5 years now. Cafe Mogador has never disappointed me. Every dish bursts with flavor - and the staff is great.

  • Review 84 (2024-05-28 - Rating: 5)

Café Mogador is a crowd fav in the city for Moroccan food and offers exquisite traditional dishes and comfort food. The tagines are not to be missed, in particular the lamb and fish tagines are so savory and tender. Highly recommend getting a couple if you have a group, each is great for sharing between 2-3 people. The jalapeño cheese naan oozes with cheese and is great for spreads. Humus and babaghanoush are super fresh, also loved the halloumi starter, like fried cheese served with grilled tomatoes and pita. My friends and I also loved the bastilla, which was a pastry with savory chicken inside. Their brunch menu looked really great for daytime. Definitely make a reservation beforehand and bring people with you to order lots of options!

  • Review 93 (2023-12-06 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely love this place. The food, service and ambiance is always supreme. It’s our favorite place to eat in the East Village! In a city where restaurants come and go, it’s a treasure to have this gem in it for the long haul. I remember eating brunch here when I was in college back in 2004 - not too many places stick around that long (and get better with age!) in this city.

My friend recommended the lamb tagine and it did not disappoint. The grilled sardines had potential, but the bones were a bit of a hazard in the dark setting. The flavors and spices were amazing, the lamb was super tender, but the dishes were a bit too oily/greasy for my taste.

4 people from the Typographics festival in Coopers Union foundation building wandered in at 1pm on Saturday, they found us a table and we shared conversation and a Mezze with main courses. The food was wonderfully refreshing on a hot, humid summers day. On the walk back to the Cooper Union we wandered the pedestrianised street of the zines street market. Fabulous atmosphere. What an excellent summer Saturday.

So cozy and wonderful in the winter. Idk how they cook every tagine perfectly but they do! The crispy cauliflower on their specials menu was hands down the best cauliflower I’ve ever had.Showed up at 630p on a Sunday for a group of 3 and got seated in 20 mins

  • Review 107 (2024-03-31 - Rating: 5)

Very nice Cafe in the East Village! We got there early and got a table just in time (around 5.30 pm when we were leaving the place was already crowded). However I would recommend to wait a little for a table. We were two and got Soup of the day and the side of humus, pita and falafel to share, everything was really delicious and tasty. I’m a fan of pita bread and this one did not disappoint! Service was great and quick, 10/10

  • Review 108 (2023-06-08 - Rating: 5)

Although we waited a while when we ordered a round of drinks, the food, atmosphere, and staff were truly outstanding. I ordered the mixed kabobs and despite the sausage being a bit dry, it was all very delicious and the portions were generous. Everyone else in my party raved about their food as well.

  • Review 109 (2023-06-02 - Rating: 4)

It was a hot spring day, one of those ones that makes you realize summer is on the horizon.I was fresh off the west side highway basketball courts, shooting about 27% from the field and 13% from 3 in 4 pick-up games. Shooters keep shooting though I will never surrender.I walked all the way to Cafe Mogador, as I felt I needed a healthy and nutritious meal after such a fantastic performance.I pulled the trigger on the Merguez Sausage, and it was honestly phenomenal. I find that most restaurants neglect dressing cabbage properly, but this cabbage was dressed to the nines. It was flavorful and not neglected. The sausage and rice were fantastic as well. However, I felt it was a pretty light portion for $24 which is the reason for knocking a star off. But I get it. Inflation and minimum wage on the rise are tough for these businesses so no hate. Just tough for me to consistently spend $24 on a light meal when my pockets are on featherweight. I just need to raise my income its really a me problem.

  • Review 110 (2024-04-25 - Rating: 5)

Intimate restaurant with great vegetarian options. Halloumi, labne, crispy cauliflower and veggie curry were standouts. Also shoutout to the bartender for the gold rush cocktail (no longer on the menu, but just as good as we remembered).

The Williamsburg location will always be my favorite, but this location suffices. The layout is not well distributed and there’s a traffic jam at the entrance/exit during cold weather when guests huddle at the door.Otherwise, good staff members and attentive service. Delicious food! The lamb tagine is a go-to for us, as is babaghanoush. Tried the matbucha and it was alright too.Overall, a Moroccan staple in NYC!

  • Review 113 (2023-05-18 - Rating: 4)

It was a busy Saturday afternoon. The food and service-laid back and excellent. The three of us ordered hummus and freshly baked pita, Greek salad, chicken Casablanca, and Merguez sausage. All of it fresh and tasty. Wine selection is nice. Highly recommend this cozy local spot for Moroccan food.

They said it was one of their favorite spots and it definitely did not disappoint. We ordered a Moroccan breakfast with scrambled eggs, hummus, two different salads, and pita. We also ordered a side of fries. The scrambled eggs were incredibly fluffy and tasty and some of the best scrambled eggs I’ve had. Everything on the plate was amazing and was even better when enjoyed together. The fries were beautifully crispy and salted perfectly.Everything we tried at Cafe Mogador was amazing. I can’t wait to come back and try out the rest of their menu items.

We came here based on a recommendation from a friend who grew up eating eating Israeli food. He told us this restaurant reminds him of his moms cooking and I dont think there is a better compliment to give a restaurant.Food: The food was excellent, there were so many veggie options and the portions were a good size. Everything was perfectly seasoned and many of the food items were unique, something I had never tried at other Mediterranean restaurants.Price: I would say the prices are pretty reasonable considering the amount of food given and the quality and taste.Ambiance: Its dimly lit and gives off this intimate cafe vibe without being casual. They have this beautiful bar thats a bit higher up than all the tables and chairs - almost like a stage, and it gives the restaurant a nice distinction.Service: Service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and happy to answer questions. Any time we needed to order something, there was always someone there to help.I highly recommend this restaurant.Instagram: @TheShahLALAnd

  • Review 120 (2023-09-22 - Rating: 5)

Food -- for apps got sardines, spicy carrots. For mains we all got chicken tagines. I got charmoula and rice. Everything we got was great. Everything was prepared perfectly. I would try a different side than charmoula next time just because cilantro tastes bad to me.Service -- attentive and nice. They gave us a pitcher of water which was really nice.We ordered spicy carrots and the accidentally gave us hummus instead. But like 30 seconds after it was dropped off they took it back and brought the carrots out too. So not a big deal at all.Atmosphere -- pretty restaurant, great lighting, nice art and decorations. Food was presented very stylized. A bit loud but honestly pretty normal for a Thursday night at a busy restaurant.Had to put our name down and wait a bit for a table but it was only like 10 minutes.Overall great place. Im excited to come back and try other things on the menu.

However, it was not satiating for its price ($18). It was nice experience to try it, but I would not order it again.Fortunately, we also ordered falafel & tahini. Falafel was delicious! Definitely a like!As a drink, I chose Moroccan Mulled Wine. Its good! All in all, it was a nice experience to try a different cusine.

Food is reasonably priced but the taste and portions exceeded the amount we’ve payed. Staffs payed attention to every table so that everyone could enjoy the dining experience. Will definitely be coming back when I’m in NYC. This place is a real gem indeed.

Their signature brunch items like shakshuka and fluffy pancakes are popular, though the service can be a bit slow during peak hours. Overall, its a charming spot for flavorful cuisine in a relaxed setting.

I used to come here all the time as a senior undergrad with my friends. 10 years later still great food and customer service. Take into account I came right after the dinner rush around 8:30 on a Wednesday night, I was seated right away.Since I hadnt been to the restaurant in a while I asked for recommendations and my server has suggested the leg of lamb for entree and an appetizer of the pickled beets. Ive never had pickled beets so I was a little wary but decided to give it a try. It was slightly sweet so it was delicious and the leg of lamb was tender and cooked perfectly medium like I asked. Because I felt like I should have some greens I also later ordered a side salad which was lacking in greens and they gave me more than enough. 150% when it comes to quality in customer service and quality of food.Granted it was a Wednesday night but the restaurant was just as I remembered it warm and cozy. There is still an outside garden thats good for lunch or brunch on the weekends.

I’ve been coming here since I was 15 and I would choose this spot for my bday every year - now as an adult who no longer lives in NY, it’s top of my list of places to stop by every time I come back. The food is always excellent. The vibes are great. The prices are a bit high but normal by NY standards. Wish they delivered uptown.

Good vibes, great food, and friendly staff! My friend and I ordered the lamb shank with couscous, falafel, labeh, and Morrocan eggs.Lamb shank with couscous, apricot sauce: 10/10———————————————————————Lamb shank fell off the bone, was juicy, non gamey at all, and delicious. We got the apricot sauce with it and couscous. Very nice combo. This is a comforting delicious.Falafel with Tahini (comes with pita): 7/10———————————————————————Falafel was crispy on the outside and not dry. Very nice. Comes with 5 bite size; nice snack.Labeh:8/10———————————————————————Double strained yogurt dip; served with pita. This is creamy but light. It’s very good.Morrocan eggs; (sausage +$5): 6/10———————————————————————2 poached eggs in a spicy pepper tomato sauce with a sausage cut up. The flavor is good; this is light. Wasn’t a huge fan of the sausage it came with. I also preferred the pita over the bread that the dish came with.

Mogador is celebrating 39 years and Ive been eating there for 29 of those. The food is consistently excellent, but I recommend making a meal of the appetizers rather than going for the main courses. My favorites are the marinated beets combined with the cucumber mint yogurt - simply divine - and the Arabic salad. Last night we also had the special appetizer of roasted cauliflower and it was amazing. If you want to go for main course, then Id recommend the chicken grill (and I normally hate chicken!) or the lamb tagine with apricot and prunes.Skip desserts as theyre always disappointing after the amazing savory food.

This is a classic East Village restaurant. It’s been in business since the 80s. Unfortunately the prices have gone way up, but that’s to be expected considering how gentrified the East Village has become since that time. Still, for those of us who love to come and get the small plates of Moroccan delicacies, such as pickled carrots, hummus, olives, Baba ghanouj and so on, with fresh pita, this is a welcome treat. Oh and do not miss the mint tea!
