    My favorite bar in the neighbourhood for a warm cozy whiskey night with a friend or date. Always end up leaving with great memories and occasionally new friends owing to the intimate setting and inevitable striking up of conversations across the bar. The ricotta dip with bread is an excellent accompaniment to whiskey or hard liquor

    Very divvy, stop by for a quick happy hour. They serve no food but are not opposed to you bringing in some from other restaurant. I sat outside had few glasses of there white wine for happy hour, it was dead inside but i like to think it’s a happening place at night

    This was my first whiskey tasting and I can’t wait to go back. They started me off with the sweet whiskey compared to the Smokey for my first time and boy did I love it. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable and helped me understand the history of the different types of whiskey. I will be back.

    My first time visiting this bar. No food this night, but the bar was packed and one bartender (possibly Billy) was handling it all with ease. I will definitely go out of my way and make a return visit. 10/10 selection of scotch, bourbons & whisky.

    Great spot with an amazing whisky selection. The space is a bit tight and not ideal for large groups and prices are on the high end, but the place has a great vibe and delicious drinks.

    If youre a whiskey nerd this is one of the places to go. Small and pretty quiet bar. The bartenders all have extensive knowledge of whiskeys so they can help guide you in the right direction

    Great spot for a quiet drink, they have some whiskeys too but definitely more of scotch bar. All the bar men are extremely well versed in all the different types of drink available on the menu and are just generally good people as well who are always up for a chat. They have a limited beer selection as well which they pair with some whiskeys/scotches if you fancy a bit of both.

    Great whiskey selection, great bartenders, nice cocktails. I enjoyed the Sazerac. Wish they had more vegetarian options on the menu and it was a bit cold and drafty inside when we visited, on a very cold night.Without a doubt one of the best bars I’ve ever been to on the UWS.

    Very large selection of single malts with knowledgeable staff, proper glasses and they gave me water with a pipette so they know what they are doing. Kitchen was closed when I was there but their publshed menu did not really have much in the way of Scottish food and there was no Scottish beer. If they open the kitchen up, Id get some Scotch pies, steak pies, haggis neeps and tatties, Irn Bru and atleast a few Scottish Ales. It is the Caledonia after all

    Update Feb 2019: **No more food!** They sadly got rid of their food menu and only have olives and almonds now. Huge bummer! Same great whiskey selection though.UWS neighborhood gem! Really glad to have an authentic place for quality scotch on the upper west. Attended a free tasting hosted by Aberlour here this summer, and it was awesome. Aberlour rep was super knowledgeable and gave us plenty of history and context on each of 3 varieties. Tip: Follow Caledonia UWS on Facebook to get updates about tastings. I also cant say enough good things about the staff and the food. My group got the grilled cheese, burger, fried chicken sandwich, and the scotch egg pork sausage appetizer, and all got rave reviews. Ample portions of thick cut fries (little too salty in my opinion but still good) on the side too, for the burger and chicken sandwich. Love that this location serves real food (unlike the UES one). Theres a decent number of bar seats, a couple high top tables and a couple low tables in the back, and its not hard to find a table on a weeknight. Will definitely be back!Update: best fish and chips I’ve found in the city!! Normally $18 but go at happy hour (5-7pm) and it’s $10 fish and chips.

    Solid place to have some scotch. Wide selection of single malts, all relatively well priced (for single malts...). Bartender was nice. Didnt have the food but apparently its quite good.

    Incredible selection of scotch whiskeys with a super knowledgeable bartender to boot. Scotch egg was excellent and a blast from the past for me. Fish and chips was decent.

    Superb range of single malt scotch and an unpretentious environment in which to enjoy them. Decent beers on draft, wines and great cocktails too for when you’re not on the water of life. Slainte mhath!

    This place is a great upscale neighborhood bar! 🍻 Caledonia Bar on the UWS serves am endless selection of whiskey 🥃, beer 🍺, and cocktails 🍸 - definitely get the Bees 🐝 Knees Cocktail!🍹 Staff 👨‍🍳 is super friendly and the service is quick! ⏲️ The place is nicely decorated 🛋️, ambience 🎶 is great, and their playlist ▶️ has lots of 80s music! 🎵 I wish I came here earlier!

    The Caledonia is my home! I don’t want to give away the secret of my local bar but it’s that good it has to be shared ! This is in no small part due to Michael (Mikey?) the bartender. What a guy! I always know I can count on him in a pinch. One time he told me a story about how he rescued a young child from a grizzly bear attack in Vermont while he was skiing! It near brought a tear to my eye. Random but it’s the little things that make a place go from fun to truly extraordinary.

    Great beer selection if you like UK beers. Whiskey selection is both expansive and reasonably priced. Was really hot the night we were in there. Not sure if it was a broken AC unit or just bad circulation, but we had a good time anyway. Quiet spot, clearly a neighborhood bar.
