Dining at the Central Park Boathouse offers not just a meal, but a true New York experience, with stunning views of the park and an atmosphere that perfectly blends elegance and comfort. The food here continues to be as remarkable as the setting, and our meal was no exception. My wife had the Ricotta Ravioli with brown butter, roasted squash, and crispy sage. This dish was a beautiful balance of rich and comforting flavors. The ricotta ravioli was delicate and soft, with the creamy filling complementing the roasted squash perfectly. The brown butter added a deep, nutty flavor, while the crispy sage brought a delightful crunch and earthiness that rounded out the dish. It felt like a true autumn celebration on a plate—warm, comforting, and satisfying.I went for the Braised Short Rib, and it did not disappoint. The short rib was incredibly tender, practically falling apart with the touch of a fork. The braising had infused the meat with deep, savory flavors that were complemented by a rich, hearty sauce. It was the kind of dish that makes you want to savor every bite, taking in the layers of flavors and textures. The accompanying sides, perfectly cooked, added balance and harmony to the dish. The service at the Boathouse was impeccable—attentive but never overbearing, allowing us to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace while still being taken care of. The atmosphere is elegant yet casual enough to make you feel at home, making it the perfect place for a special dinner with an unforgettable view of Central Park. The Central Park Boathouse continues to deliver exceptional food in a gorgeous setting. Whether you’re indulging in the comforting ricotta ravioli or the tender braised short rib, you can count on a memorable dining experience. It’s the kind of place where the food and the view come together to create something truly special.

We were fairly impressed by this place, expecting good food with great views and a bit of a touristy experience. My Manhattan was perfect. The oysters were probably the best Ive ever had. The clam chowder and the spare ribs were just okay, but the lobster spaghetti was very good and had generous portions of lobster. With the right item selection the food was 10/10 and all of it was presented beautifully. The views were of course good. Service was adequate, but if anything could have used polishing I think having more staff would have been it. Overall it was great. While the bill was somewhat expensive, it is definitely worth it.

Absolutely delighted with our lunch today. We arrived with no reservation, it was VERY busy but the lovely girls at the entrance found us a nice table for two within about 5 mins! Food and drinks were lovely, but the complete standout were the wait staff... these guys were working so hard and fast, but always with a genuine smile, checking in on us to see if we needed extra drinks, coffee, etc. Could not fault them at all... please pass on our congrats on carrying out such a fantastic service! We are Australians spending a month in NYC, and its wonderful experiences like these that we will take home and tell everyone about 😃👍

A surprisingly great place to dine for lunch on a beautiful fall day. We were visiting New York and decided to walk Central Park. We walked in without reservations, put our names down and grabbed a seat at the bar for about an hour wait (Sunday). The views are beautiful and the outdoor patio is quite nice if you are seated in a nice spot with a view. During our time the sun was a bit direct and I saw a few diners had to stand up from their seats to dodge the sun. We enjoyed the prawn cocktail, crab cake and chicken liver mousse. Their martinis and Bloody Mary’s are fabulous!

It was one of my vacation days in NYC and I stopped by the Boat House to read my book and spend some time alone. It was a great experience, from the food to the service. Definitely a must-visit for a special occasion or if you want to treat yourself :)

  • Review 6 (2024-10-11 - Rating: 4)

Had a delightful lunch at a the Boathouse after a relaxing walk through Central Park. Did not manage to get a table by the window but the lake was still visible. Food was flavourful. The entrees of jumbo shrimp and stuffed mushrooms deserve special mention.

  • Review 7 (2024-11-10 - Rating: 4)

Great location with stunning views, very friendly staff. I ordered the salmon and the ice cream for dessert - both were quite good but I wish it was more value per dollar, especially with the salmon as only cucumbers were given as a side. I would definitely say this is the place for a special occasion!

  • Review 8 (2024-11-09 - Rating: 4)

I rented a boat for $25 per hour. There was a bit of a wait—about 20 minutes in line. Unfortunately, my boat had some issues halfway through, and it unlatched from the row, which made it a bit challenging. Despite that, the views were fantastic.

  • Review 9 (2024-07-29 - Rating: 4)

Nice place for tourists and you have no time for exploring.Good lake view. It’s like $90-100 per person.Crab cake 8/10 chicken milanesa 6/10 pasta 5/10 cheesecake 6/10 strawberry short cake 6/1075 minutes for a table of 2

  • Review 10 (2024-09-18 - Rating: 5)

Perfect place (it’s Central Park!), good food and service (they can speak Spanish perfectly and they were so patient/kind). The food was really good, with quality, freshness. I recommend the chicken - the salad was so clean and the chicken cooked perfectly.

  • Review 11 (2024-08-06 - Rating: 4)

We were expecting our food to be a little yummier but it was under seasoned and not well cooked. But we loved the cocktails and the view - book here at sunset and perhaps avoid the fish. ❤️

  • Review 12 (2024-11-07 - Rating: 5)

I went for the atmosphere and was pleasantly surprised with how lovely the food and service was! Seeing all of the people paddling around in the pond with the fall foliage behind them was truly idyllic!

  • Review 13 (2024-07-09 - Rating: 5)

It was a beautiful place to have lunch. Make sure to make reservations in advance. The ceiling on the terrace was very light blue which added some glamour to the surroundings. The food was great.

  • Review 14 (2024-07-29 - Rating: 4)

Iconic location within Central Park. We enjoyed the made in house pasta dishes and had a wonderful waiter. Nothing spectacular to report but a nice place to go if you’re visiting the area.

  • Review 15 (2024-08-04 - Rating: 5)

We visited the boathouse while walking through the park and was amazed at how dog friendly they are, the staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious. They also helped us celebrate our boys champagne birthday by allowing us to share some dessert in their bowls we had with them! I would give more stars if I could! Thanks for the great experience, youre some of the best in this industry!

  • Review 16 (2024-07-04 - Rating: 5)

Had the most lovely time at the Central Park Boathouse - everyone was SO welcoming (not going to lie, I’ve been a little intimidated to try before). Right from the moment we walked in, we were treated so well! We had the lobster roll, shrimp cocktail, and a couple spritz’ that were so refreshing. Food was excellent, and worth the price (which, btw was reasonable in comparison to what other restaurants charge). The view was the best part. Do not miss the Boathouse; it is a perfect place to bring out of town guests!

  • Review 17 (2024-10-11 - Rating: 4)

Very classic American food. Decent price and taste. Nothing very special. This restaurant has great scenery though.

  • Review 18 (2024-07-06 - Rating: 5)

Well the press seems to disagree with me...a wonderful lunch in a perfect NYC spot. We enjoyed a bar stool table with fantastic lake views...a delicious chicken salad....and the special attentive service of Juan Carlos.I admit that the Boathouse needs a review of policies because it is not my fault that staff changes at 4pm...nor should that be an explanation for carelessness of hospitality when your restaurant runs a full day of service.Once we made a point of getting our own menus...trying to order from the bar or anyone looking like staff...and going back to the host desk 3 times.... we solved it. So yes to the New York Post is still correct about service....but once solved....delicious food and appropriate check-ins came. And I will go back. We were a table of 2, walk-in just before 4 with only one large table ahead of us at host desk and many open tables. 5 tables open at the bar. 20 minute wait for main dining because of shift change. Really?

  • Review 19 (2024-08-31 - Rating: 5)

Food was incredible! And the outside patio vibe was perfect. Can’t wait to go back to try their brunch menu. The Parker Rolls were 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

  • Review 20 (2024-11-06 - Rating: 5)

An amazing place and setting to come for a meal. Right downtown and in Central Park. Service was first rate.

  • Review 21 (2024-12-31 - Rating: 5)

We visited from Sydney Australia to celebrate a special occasion in DEC24. It had just snowed in NYC and the lake was Snow White partially frozen with beautiful Christmas baubles in a boat right in the middle. Inside the boathouse it was festive, cosy and warm. The service was very nice, the food was amazing (clam chowder rocked) and the whole place resonated with the festivity of a White Christmas. Definitely one of our favourite experiences in NYC. Would certainly come back again.

  • Review 22 (2024-09-16 - Rating: 5)

Nice experience to have if you are visiting Central Park. The price was fair (25$/hr) and the staff was friendly and open. The boat was in a good maintenance status and you can easily enjoy the experience even if alone

  • Review 23 (2024-07-14 - Rating: 5)

My first time visiting and they did not disappoint! I had a reservation and they sat me right on time. Our server was so sweet and the food was delicious. We didn’t know but there is also a little bar area that is first come first serve!

  • Review 24 (2024-12-05 - Rating: 5)

We only dined in for a quick lunch the day before Thanksgiving but we really enjoyed our experience. On what is a super busy day in NYC, they didn’t miss a beat. We were seated quickly with a reservation, the restaurant was clean, and the service and food was prompt. I will definitely be back for dinner in the spring! Beautiful restaurant in a great location in the park!

  • Review 25 (2024-04-21 - Rating: 5)

For tourists like me this was the quintessential NYC brunch. Ive been wanting to try this place for a few years so our party of six was pleased to get last minute reservations for brunch on a beautiful spring Saturday. The view was stunning, the cocktails and food were fabulous. They started us off with complimentary dill dip and crudite. The lump crab cakes and the fish and chips were fresh and delicious. Our waiters seemed a little exasperated by our questions but overall service was pretty good. The prices were high for the amount of food you get but I suppose thats to be expected in a place like The Boathouse. Youre paying for the experience really.

  • Review 26 (2024-08-06 - Rating: 5)

The food was tasty, but having the option to leave tips on top of the auto-gratuity felt a bit rude

  • Review 27 (2024-07-10 - Rating: 4)

The shrimp in corn soup doesn’t taste fresh. Oysters are small

  • Review 28 (2022-03-16 - Rating: 5)

We visited the Loeb Boat House in December just after Christmas. I had decided to make a reservation on mine instead of just turning up. That was a good decision because we got him straight away and was shown to a table. It was a long line if you didn’t have a reservation. What was great is that they had hot Apple cider for wedding guests which was perfect because it was a cold New York morning. The service was a little slow to start because we were sitting just across from the bar, we were pretty hungry and it seemed as though there wasn’t enough weeks to stop. People sitting on the floor of the restaurant but so faster people who came after us got served first. We kept wanting more bread, but the bread service didn’t come back again they kept going to the floor of the restaurant. However the food was delectable our waiter was amazing and very friendly, we had a lot of fun and it was great to see all the Christmas decorations, great wine selection, great cocktail selection, exemplary service and absolutely a delight to be sitting there. We can’t wait to go back

  • Review 29 (2023-10-08 - Rating: 5)

The Loeb Boathouse in Central Park, New York City, is a popular spot for renting boats. They offer rowboats and pedal boats for visitors to enjoy a leisurely ride on the lake. Its a wonderful activity, especially during the warmer months when you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Central Park. A waiver is required--they need to post bigger sign and remind people they need to complete while waiting in line.** I would recommend weekday to avoid wait in long line.

  • Review 30 (2021-08-29 - Rating: 5)

We came here for brunch. Usually tourists spots are not that great when it comes to food quality. So we were not expecting much other than a nice location and view. We were very surprised the food was great. Stuffed French toast and Eggs Benny were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The staff was also very attentive. Very surprised and would definitely come again, try to get there when they just open before it gets busy.

  • Review 31 (2022-05-24 - Rating: 5)

Excellent evening! Our waiter Dean made our evening perfect! We were celebrating my niece’s graduation and he made her dessert extra special which I know made her day! The views of the lake were spectacular and the food was delicious. For fans of a sweet cocktail I would definitely recommend the elderflower cosmopolitan as it gave a fun summery twist on a classic! This place is perfect for a special occasion.

  • Review 32 (2024-11-11 - Rating: 5)

Quintessential must NYC. The view was spectacular, food was amazing and staff was spectacular

  • Review 33 (2024-11-19 - Rating: 4)

I went there to celebrate an special occasion, I liked the view and the food was really tasty. What I didn’t like was the service of the server, he barely went to our table and his attitude could be better, his assistant Carlos was more polite and friendly. Anyway it is a nice restaurant.

Love it yummy This is the casual no reservation needed side of the Boathouse. We could not get a table at the boathouse so we did the walk up windows here. The food was great. Had the everything bagel with cream cheese and lox. I do not know who did the lox but a big thank you. They had to have included at least a half a pound of lox. It was incredible. The carrot ginger bisque was as good as any uppity Restaurant. It was a must have. The burger was OK, but i would go with the bagel if I had the choice. Again I cannot say enough good things about that soup. Im thinking of going again just for the soup of the day!!!! Check out all of our reviews and look at all or photos below. Great brunch with a nice view of the park & row boats. Our table had the oysters, eggs Benedict, crab cocktail & hidden fjord salmon ~ it was all delicious!

  • Review 38 (2021-09-04 - Rating: 5)

We came here for dinner and the food was incredible. We got the golden beets for an appetizer, followed by the seared salmon and the pacherri pasta with rock shrimp, and then the creme brulee. The appetizer seemed a little small split between the two of us, but it was a good thing as the main course was plenty of food. Everything we ate was so delicious, definitely the best meal weve had in New York! The view from the table was also amazing!

  • Review 39 (2024-08-22 - Rating: 5)

We had a wonderful lunch! Our server, Tara was attentive, knowledgable about the food & drink menus, and a lovely person to have visiting our table to ensure everything was to our liking. The service, food, drinks, & atmosphere all made for an enjoyable & relaxing way to spend some time in The Park. Highly recommend for an any day experience.

  • Review 40 (2024-08-02 - Rating: 4)

The atmosphere was great. We sat right next to the lake. Little one enjoyed watching fish in the lake. Was able to reserve a table the same morning (weekday) but wasn’t impressed by the food. Neither the salmon nor the swordfish was good, the pasta and ravioli are ok. The waiter was very friendly. Overall it’s a nice place to hangout.

  • Review 41 (2024-08-26 - Rating: 5)

Quite pricey and guests are packed in tightly but the atmosphere was very jovial and the service was excellent. Most dishes were excellent and the restaurant uses high quality and very fresh ingredients. An enjoyable couple of hours in a very nice setting. Memorable.

My husband and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary at the Loeb Boat House just this past Sunday. It was our first time after 10 years living in the city. May be too cheesy but they really made the evening so magical for us. The attention and care they had in us having a nice experience was so apparent. We had reservations at 8pm but arrived around 7:30pm. We thought we could try to be seated early but expected to be told to wait at the bar which we were happy to do. Pleasantly, the restaurant manager and hostess were so nice and noted that we were celebrating an anniversary and had a waterfront table set for us. We were thrilled. I had never seen Central Park at this hour and view, it was beautiful. Turtles and fish would pop their heads up and say hi throughout the night. The server was so kind and the food/drinks were delicious. We had the burrata/tomato, truffle fries and crab cake to start. The crab cake is one of the best Ive ever had and highly recommend ordering it! For our main, we got the steak special and skillet chicken. Both were amazing. They also gifted us the chocolate soufflé cake which we were so grateful for because I had been excited to order it for days leading up. We really couldnt have asked for a better experience/meal and grateful for the Boat House staff for really gave us an amazing first anniversary.

I very much enjoyed the meal, the restuarnt is beautiful and in a great place. I love the atmosphere and the staff is friendly even though they are very busy. Food is good nothing crazy it is more of a tourist spot but it is nice especially in the warmer weather to people watch on the lake.

We had a wonderful experience. We were greeted warmly by the hostess Jennifer and casually met Rennie and Mark both managers. Our waitress Amanda assisted us with our dinner selections: salmon and sea bass both excellent. The vibe was great and of course, the iconic setting,so much fun.Well be back.

  • Review 49 (2021-09-17 - Rating: 5)

A very semi upscale vibe to have a nice business or romantic dinner. The atmosphere is very warm and relaxed with just the right touch of understated class. It sits right on the lake which is lit at night to add to the ambiance. Huge fish swim right underneath for added enjoyment. The menu isnt very extensive but they do do what they do very well. The food was divine from the appetizer to the main course to the desert there was no complaint to be had.Service is excellent. Servers are knowledgeable and very efficient. There is no gluten free menu but there are satisfying options available.

  • Review 50 (2021-07-17 - Rating: 5)

WOW. Such a charming Saturday lunch experience! We had the famous crab cakes and a summer salad, which was absolutely massive. The food was great and our server was a great guy. My absolute favorite part was that they had a giant bread basket that they went table to table with and let you pick out a variety of rolls to have.We did the row boats afterward which was so fun. Highly recommend for a classic Saturday in the park ✨

Central Park on its own is a special place. The Boathouse is like an Oasis in it. Ive been visiting for more than 14 years and it never gets old. If youre going just for drinks or to enjoy a meal. Its a consistently great experience.

I can not say enough about how amazing this iconic spot and its incredible staff. It’s legendary due to the great location, yummy food but mostly the fabulous service from our servers Lisa and Juan. They were standouts but the entire staff treated us like icons as well! You won’t regret your day in the park at the Boathouse!

Absolutely perfect experience! The manager was a pleasure to chat with and he was so kind to move us to a window seat where we enjoyed views of snowy Central Park and a sunset! Food was light, tasty and worth it. We had the crabcake, seafood cocktail and octopus carpaccio and would recommend all of them, was so hungry after walking in the snow that I forgot to take pictures. Service was kind and impeccable! Will return!

They had seating for food at the venue too. So if you don’t want to kayak you can eat instead and watch others kayak. Overall very fun

  • Review 59 (2019-08-22 - Rating: 4)

We arrived amidst the summer heat just before sunset and we were hoping for some cool, air conditioned reperive from the brutal humidity and heat; however, we were greeted only by lazily turning fans on the ceilings, gently churning the thick, hot air below. We sat at the bar, unable to muster up the gusto to have a cocktail and settled for a glass of ice water instead. A few moments later our table was ready and we sat overlooking the lake. Our meal was above average, yet nothing that blew us away. My compliments to the cook who seared our fish so perfectly that each bite I took let out an involuntary, mmm of satisfaction. It was definitely a beautiful restaurant; come for the view but, the food is good, too.

What a lovely time with beautiful piano music and delicious food. Brought my fiance for her birthday, she has always wanted to come here and it was everything she hoped it to be. I gave it 4 stars because they sat us right next to the bus boys nevertheless we had a great time.

Excellent place. We arrived shortly after the dining area closed so I sat at the bar and the wonderful bar staff helped me get a couple beers before closing. Honestly such nice people, I was so impressed. Had a nice conversation with the bartender and we were on our way. Would highly recommend. And I wish nothing but the best to the gentleman who served me. Absolute stand up guy.

Absolutley amazing. I went in NY winter and didn’t even had to wait to get a table. We were seated by the window, having a great view of Central Park. There was a live pianist playing the whole time and we were served courtesy cinnamon water which was delicious. The food might be pricy but come on, the restaurant is absolutely worth it.

So lovely to eat looking out over the water, with people in rowboats going by. Limited menu, but everything we ate was delicious—Parker house rolls, shrimp cocktail, swordfish, prime rib, chocolate lava cake, and strawberry shortcake—and the service was great. Definitely expensive, but the atmosphere is why you eat here, and tonights weather was perfect so it was just gorgeous.

LoebOne of my bucket list Restaurants is the boathouse in Central Park, it’s an understated icon of New York City. Thanks to a friend who chose to celebrate his anniversary here, I finally got the excuse to go. I loved the ambiance of this place and our dining table was set overlooking the man-made lake with many people enjoying boating. We went with a 3-course dinner menu. I started with jumbo lump crab cake with cucumber salad and red bell pepper remoulade and I found it delicious an a decent portion for an appetizer. I then selected a grilled petite filet for my main with fingerlings potato crisps, creamed corn, and green peppercorn sauce. We then concluded the dessert with NYC cheesecake.Overall, the dishes were delicious and served in a timely fashion considering that we were in a big group. This place is equally good for an anniversary or romantic date night.

[3.5/5, New York, NY] 5/5 for ambience, 3/5 for food. I know that averages to 4 but I put a higher weight on food. Come for ambience, not for food. French Toast was okay. Boathouse breakfast was below average - sausage is not nice, bacon was like wot, beans are like ._. Will not order again. Though if I came here again I might try the Steak & Eggs and Fish & Chips which is what the waiter recommended (and I woefully ignored).

Yes, it’s a tourist spot but the food is actually very good. Yes, it’s really very petty to charge for table rolls ($8) but they are buttery and delicious. The jumbo shrimp cocktail is 5 huge shrimp with a flavorful red cocktail sauce. The linguini with clams, also good. Linguini was perfectly cooked and the garlicky sauce was not overpowering.FYI, strollers are not allowed. Actually hostess was quite rude about it. Take that fact into account before you splurge on a visit. All other employees were gracious and professional.

  • Review 73 (2024-10-23 - Rating: 4)

Gorgeous gorgeous views at sunset but WOWEE the dinner service is expensive. They offered sparkling water and I said yes then was charged $10 for a big bottle of peligrino that I only drank one glass from. The pasta I got was really good. I would come back but would be more prepared for pricing.

So thrilled the Boathouse in Central Park is back open. Such a beautiful setting. Service is great and food excellent! A must visit.

Beautifully artistic setting: twilight in Central Park with a vista of reflective lake and the NYC skyline! Add very good, though expensive, food and youve created a moment to remember. It was worth every dime!

A perfect fall evening, good company, and good food. What a lovely way to end a day as dusk fell in the moon rose. Nice experience for visitors.

We had a terrific dinner with friendly service and they kept our water glasses full (something we care about because we dont drink alcohol much and like to just have water) the fish (halibut) was moist and delicious and the salad was very good (could use a bit more dressing). They had some issues with the reservation system and we came and the reservation we made wasnt there but they did admit there was an issue and the seated is on time.

An unforgettable experience. We went for brunch on Sunday and got their a few minutes after opening considering how packed it gets. Sat right next to the lake and had a breathtaking view. I had the boathouse fish platter! ABSOLUTELY greatest platter Ive eaten for brunch. Being from Florida, I eat fish outside of their with one eye closed because theres no fish like fresh fish. However, the white fish salad and filet were just outstanding! The salmon was even better! My wife had the seasonal omelette which was full of fresh veggies! I wish I could eat breakfast here every morning! Unbelievable staff and manager!!!

  • Review 79 (2021-04-07 - Rating: 5)

Delicious food, great service and a beautiful view. We started out with the cheese plate (which is listed on their dessert menu). I had the salmon and my guy had the pork loin. I loved my salmon. His pork loin was just ok. I got the flourless chocolate cake for dessert and it was absolutely delicious although I do feel it could’ve used some more raspberry sauce perhaps drizzled on top of the cake itself.I am gluten free and the waiter was very helpful in helping me figure out what I could eat. And I did not have any issues/get sick after eating the cheese (no crackers), salmon and flourless chocolate cake.

The lake is bigger then we can see from the pier and actually the waiting line gone fast. its 15 for first hour and 20 for deposit. no food and drinks allowed on boat and 4 person limited per boat. the oar is tied on both side, Ill recommend one person use at a time.

  • Review 81 (2024-04-13 - Rating: 4)

I love that the Central Park Boathouse is reopened. I went here with a friend on a Sunday morning along with his two kids. The atmosphere was fantastic, with a picture perfect view of the lake while being nestled in Central Park. The kids are young, so we shared a pastry basket, had a few lemonades, and I ate a bagel with salmon, which was underwhelming. My friend had the burger, which he said was excellent. The kids liked their muffins and pastries. In my opinion, the food was just okay, but the experience of being there on a beautiful Sunday morning was great. If I went again, Id do it a bit differently. I look forward to going back. The staff was friendly and attentive.

I went here for dinner for my birthday. The food was exceptional and the view at sunset was absolutely beautiful. There are tables along the water, with a beautiful view of the park.

  • Review 83 (2022-05-03 - Rating: 5)

I’ve been here a number of times and it’s consistently excellent. White glove service at the same cost as any other diner. Not sure why everyone isn’t here but it has it all and if you’re a tourist, this is must do. In summer the windows are open and there’s views over the water.Food is high grade and you won’t be left without an option.

  • Review 84 (2022-07-05 - Rating: 5)

Beautiful location near the canoe launch with water area scenery. Service was great and we enjoyed our meals. The petite filet I had was excellent and my best friend also enjoyed her crispy baked chicken. I highly recommend making a reservation; I am very glad I did ahead of time.

  • Review 85 (2022-04-12 - Rating: 5)

Perfect, from the food to the service. Must go especially during the snowy winter period for a nice (romantic) brunch with your loved one(s).

  • Review 86 (2024-06-01 - Rating: 4)

Given that this is a touristy place the food was surprisingly good. Don’t get me wrong, eating lunch over looking the pond and Bethesda fountain is the highlight, the food was tasty and the service was good. The hostess told us that in order to be seated we had to order an appetizer and each person had to order individual entrees. The food was slightly overpriced but that was expected for the view and ambience. (And having a mimosa didn’t hurt.) The Parker house rolls were a hit and the Asparagus salad was refreshing. The rigatoni was good and the fish and chips was ‘ok’- skip the chips portion.

  • Review 87 (2024-11-18 - Rating: 5)

Very tasty, no line on Mondays, nice seats outside

  • Review 88 (2024-07-17 - Rating: 5)

Central Park Boathouse beats expectations.I fully expected this to be a maxxed out tourist experience where everything was overpriced and mid at best, but the food was genuine, the vibe was there, and the service was perfect.I wouldn’t go out of my way to go again, but it was totally worth doing once.We went on July 4th and got the limited lobster rolls and chicken dish. Both were really great. One of us wanted to see the lobster roll before ordering it, so our server went and found one at another table to show them lol. Top tier service 👌

This place is an absolute dream. Located in Central Park the views food atmosphere and service are impeccable. Katerina the head manager is the most accommodating caring person. She helped save our day being we were stuck in horrible traffic because of the Puerto Rican Day parade. She even had a Complementary glass of champagne for my best friend and I. Our waitress was an absolute sweetheart and the manager on duty Dennis was amazing as well . I highly recommend this place not only for the beautiful views and amazing food . You are treated like royalty and they really care about your experience. The service is impeccable.

Love, love, love this place! I took of one star for the atmosphere just because of too much loud but it’s normal for almost all American restaurants. Highly recommended to visit this famous and historic place at least once in the life!

  • Review 103 (2024-06-01 - Rating: 4)

You come here for the experience. It’s Central Park, it’s a gorgeous day, cocktails by the water with the rowboats passing by and the view - it’s adorable. At 3pm on a gorgeous Thursday afternoon, we had no reservations and no wait to sit by the water. If you are only having drinks, you cannot sit inside and you must order some food off a limited bar menu. It’s pricey and even the drinks are somewhat limited but it was great, sitting with friends sipping an Aperol spritz. We did feel rushed but we took our time anyway. One drink a a couple of simple appetizers. I would go back.

Beautiful restaurant with a lovely view out into Central Park. My food was delicious and service was first class. Well worth the short wait for a table. The Loeb however is a little on the more pricy side.

What a beautiful experience in Central Park! I can’t wait to bring my visitors here. The Boat House was very accommodating with gluten-free options, and the views are immaculate. The service was on point, making it a highly recommended spot for a classic New Yorker lifestyle. Renting a boat afterward was the perfect finishing touch. It doesn’t get better than that. The seafood was also excellent! Will be back 👏

3.5 / 5.0 - After enjoying the rowboats on this beautiful day over the weekend, we came to the Boathouse for drinks. I’ve dined at the restaurant before the renovations and reopening, but this was my first time outside for drinks. If you are looking for views, you need to order food. For drinks only, there is a section outside with no views. The food menu items weren’t super appealing, but we wanted to sit by the water, so we decided to order appetizers. The dockside atmosphere was great, with a view of the water with rowboats and the boathouse. The service, however, was sub par—it was very slow, the drinks were not mixed and we had no napkins (even after we asked, they forgot). So you are really here for the views and atmosphere, but it was nice to be able to sit outside.

The cafe was a great place to stop, have something to eat and look out at the water, very relaxing. In the winter the fireplace was on, now you cant enjoy that unless you go for a sit-down meal. So disappointed, one of the places we loved about the park. The cafe was great and will miss it. Plus we would see plenty of tourist stopping in also to enjoy the view and get something to eat.

It sounds like the newly renovated Boathouse really impressed you! From the friendly bartenders who made you feel welcome to the attentive service that went above and beyond to help with your Tabasco jars, it seems like theyve stepped up their game. And with delicious and interesting menu options like prime rib and a Brandy Alexander, its no wonder you were pleasantly surprised. Its always exciting to see a favorite spot undergo positive changes, and it sounds like the new Boathouse is a definite winner. Thanks for the recommendation!

What a wonderful experience. Christopher is the epitome of a perfect professional server— his recommendations were spot on and he provided the most balanced service between being engaging and still respecting private space of the diners. The duck was perfectly cooked and well presented, and the rolls just might be the best I’ve ever tasted. The of fashioned drink could’ve used a rim swipe of orange and I’m not a fan of the plates which don’t allow for resting utensils between bites. I will definitely return with friends the next time I visit nyc.
