    Staff was very friendly in allowing and accommodating us with arriving late to our reservation. To start, the appetizers were phenomenal. Delicious and full of flavor. Drinks were quite strong where we were 1 and done. However, amazing cocktails ! Pasta was so fresh and cooked to perfection. Protein choices paired very well with pasta sauces and noodles. Would return and recommend !

    The food and coffee at Cafe Dante was wonderful. My husband and I shared the banana bread(best I’ve ever had) and the Omelet. The atmosphere is so fun and comfortable. We went after Christmas and it was very festive for the holiday.

    I could not say enough positive about Dante. The MacDougal location is so charming with a elegant ambiance. Perfect for a date night or a night out with friends. Service was 5 star and never once did we feel that we needed something. The espresso martini and the Negroni were stellar! The orecchiette was creamy, flavorful, and in my top 5 favorite dishes ever. Yes, it was that good! The ribeye with chimichurri sauce was phenomenal. I cannot say enough good about this restaurant. It is a 5 star and a must visit!

    I have been coming to Dante’s longer than some of my friends have been on planet earth. Our kids enjoyed calamari and other delicious things in high chairs on the sidewalk. This place is a piece of Americana. I cannot highly enough recommend stopping here at least one time in your life. Personally, it’s exciting to me that my kids are now at a place in their lives, where we carpool into the city together go our separate ways and meet back up for a celebratory cocktail at one of my favorite places on planet earth.     I visited this spot for brunch and enjoyed the live music, which was fantastic! The menu options, however, were somewhat average. Am I the only one missing physical menus these days? The service stood out for being both friendly and attentive. While the food was decent, the mussels didnt seem as fresh as I had hoped. That said, the location is excellent, and the restaurants decor is charming. Overall, I would still recommend giving this place a try!

    Possibly the greatest Negroni bar in the world and also the greatest dry martini bar in the world. It’s a cozy atmosphere and setting but you can see this was named best bar in the world a few times, or among them!

    Best espresso martini I’ve ever had. This restaurant stays busy so best to arrive at start of dinner if you’re doing walk-in. The flatbread and pasta were both delicious, but overall I liked Via Carota more than Dante’s. Would come back for drinks.

    I’ve been here many times for cocktails and appetizers and tonight tried their pasta - Bucatini Amatriciana and unfortunately it disappointed. It was nowhere close to Amatriciana I had in Rome multiple times. Somehow ingredients didn’t blend together into a sauce and it lacked salt. A different kind of pasta would work better with this sauce. On the contrary, cocktails are always fantastic and I would always come back for a drink, just not the dinner.

    Finally made it to Dante since 1915 in NYC, a spot Ive always wanted to visit whenever Im in the city, and Im so glad I did this time! Dante is known for being the first place to bring Negroni from Italy to NYC, and let me tell you, their cocktails are some of the best Ive ever had (I may have indulged in three on my own... dont judge 🤣).Besides their incredible cocktails, Dante also serves up delicious Italian food. I wish I had more room in my stomach to try everything, but alas, I settled for their steak tartare, which was absolutely yummy and satisfying!

    Good service and cocktail selection. Cute ambiance. A good spot for end of the day wind down. Wish we were check on a bit more as even though we sat at the bar, the staffs were so busy we had to flag down to get service and place our order every time. However, understand that the restaurant was busy so perhaps placing more staffs would help. Overall, would come back again for actual meal and recommend this place for cocktail go-to spot!

    We came here on a Monday evening at 6pm and it was packed! We snagged a table outside because it was surprisingly not that cold for a December evening. Try to get a reservation in advance.We grabbed a small bite and some cocktails. The drinks were excellent! Highly recommend getting the Caffee Dante coffee! It’s a seasonal drink, but it should be on their permanent menu.

    Thanks for the phenomenal birthday dinner experience. We flew to New York to celebrate my birthday, so I had to find a dinner place on short notice. I emailed the restaurant and received a feedback within seconds, including my reservation. Said so, we went to the restaurant at the evening of my birthday and were warmly welcomed by the gorgeous lovely seater. We kicked the evening of with a variety of cocktails, started with the Burrata and the Arancini, followed by the Veal Milanese and the Orchiette with Italian sausage and broccolini. The team surprised me with a birthday tiramisu including and a candle on top while singing happy birthday to me. We’ve had the most amazing evening in New York and I can only recommend to visit the Caffe Dante. Great service, excellent Italian food, most amazing hospitality and such an outstanding atmosphere. We will come back, definitely worth a second visit. And thanks again for the most amazing bday dinner! ❤️

    Best bloody marys! Having brunch at the bar was perfect. My friend and I went relatively early and we were thrilled we could get walk-in seats at the bar. I had been meaning to go to this location and it didn’t let me down. She got avocado toast (it was loaded with the good stuff) and I got a light breakfast burrata. Our focus was the bloodiest… they hit the spot. The bartenders were great and pretty much left us alone to chat and catch up and knew exactly when to replenish our drinks.

    Bartender Sebastian is fantastic. Food and drinks are both great. Recommend the mussels and the Dante martini!Unfortunately have to edit our review: On our most recent visit to Dante with a table of 4, we had a great time until our server changed over for second shift. Upon taking on our table, the second server immediately notified us that she was closing out our tab, without any offer for continued service. This came across as incredibly rude and dismissive, almost as if she was kicking us out. We spent almost $600 for the table. Makes us second guess ever returning.

    We had a phenomenal time! The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, the drinks were world class, and they were wonderful helping us get it all planned. Everyone agreed it was one of the best nights out any of us had shared in a long time.

    We went for an early Saturday brunch. Our reservations were at 10:45 a.m. reservations are suggested but I will say when we arrived we were the first people there. Eventually the place filled up. Its very small inside so its quite intimate. There are places at the bar to sit as well. It has an outdoor patio but the day we went it was raining so they put us inside. The food was spectacular. We had the table banana bread, I had the flatbread, and my husband had the poached eggs. Hes also a lover of negronis so he tried a couple of those as well. The bloody Mary is made from fresh cold pressed juice so its very light. Nothing like you would have other places. I definitely recommend making this a stop on your New York City trip!

    Dante NYC in the West Village exceeded my expectations in every way. To start, their espresso martini was absolutely great, perfectly balanced and full of flavor. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and each bite was a delight. Personally not a vegan but, I was pleased to find that Dante NYC offers great options, including a cauliflower dish that was both creative and satisfying.Not only were the vegan options impressive, but the chicken dish was also outstanding. The flavors were well-developed, and the dish was cooked to perfection.Dante NYCs dedication to quality ingredients and impeccable execution shines through in every dish. The inviting ambiance and attentive service added to the overall dining experience.Whether youre looking for fantastic cocktails, incredible vegan options, or a memorable chicken dish, Dante NYC in the West Village is the place to go. I highly recommend it for a remarkable dining experience.

    Dante is hands down my favourite cocktail bar in Manhattan. The speakeasy get all the hype, but I fell in love with this bar the first time I visited and come back to it every time Im in town.Its situated on a beautiful street, and is beautifully decorated, with tiled walls and elegant signage. Its exactly the spot you want to go for pasta and Borolo with a group of friends- the bread, pasta and little pipettes are excellent. Its how I imagine Italian eateries should be.But above all, come for the cocktails. Their take on the garibaldi is unique, and I love the mini martinis with caper berries. I cant say without hyperbole that the tequila espresso martini is the best espresso martini Ive had in my life. I dont even like espresso martinis, but I couldnt get enough of this- it was so spicy.I love the olive green tones, the tiles, the food and the amazing drinks. There is no reason not to check out this beautiful little bar.

    The pasta was delicious and the cocktail lived up to its name. Its really perfect to be able to drink well on top of the high alcohol content. And each cup is so beautiful. But the service attitude is really not very good, especially the waitress at the door.

    Walked in as a party of 2 on a Thursday night around 9pm and it was packed but we were lucky and got seated right away. They play the music really loud so we had to yell to hear ourselves over the music.The drinks here were superb as always. My friend’s Negroni was strong by well mixed and my drink was off the summer menu and really good.We also ordered the chicken parmigiana and side of broccolini to share and it was all amazing. The chicken parmigiana was really thinly pounded and not too heavily breaded. The broccolini was seasoned just enough and perfectly cooked. Both dishes were perfect compliments to our drinks. I’ll definitely be back but hopefully if I go a bit earlier the music won’t be so blaring.

    Not sure how it happened, but I managed to get a walk-in on a Friday evening at Dante NYC. The staffs were very accomdating and allowed my friend and I to sit at the bar despite not having a reservation. Service time was very fast and efficient. The bartender was very knowledgable and answered every quesiton I had about the cocktails. Although the space inside the restaurant was very crowded, I liked the decoration and aesthetics so I guess the limited space part is something I’ll accept. Some noteable food and beverages were: APEROL SPRITZ 2.0 (aperol, contratto, raspberry, altos tequila, rosé, prosecco), FLUFFY MARGARITA ROYALE (olmeca altos, orange dry curacao, fluffy pineapple, lime, green chili, prosecco, hawaiian lava salt), Dante’s signature burrata with preserved cherry tomatoes, basil & toasted rye, Roasted branzino with salmoriglio sauce & zucchini, Housemade potato gnocchi.

    If I could, I’d give the food 10 stars. Everything was delicious! I ordered the avocado test and wanted to order 3 more even though the serving was quite large. But the toast was so delicious and the eggs were poached to perfection. My cappuccino was as tasty and caffeinating as it was beautiful.Service, on the other hand, was lacking. We had to ask for our coffee multiple times. I’m jealous of all of the other reviews with incredible looking cocktails - we never received a drink menu. They tried to take away plates we were still working on as if to hurry us up but then we had to ask for the bill multiple times. Service was inconsistent but that wouldn’t stop me from going here again!

    Celebrated a close friends birthday brunch here & was very happy with the food options. I enjoyed the matcha & pear oatmeal (GF & DF option) a lot more than I expected to! The pancakes were incredible, better than Chez Ma Tantes & Rule of Thirds famous pancakes if you ask me. Soft in the inside & perfectly cooked outside. They surprised my friend with a Tiramisu slice topped with a light, something we all greatly appreciated. Would definitely come back!!

    We went to this place since it was #1 in top 50 bars in the world. And I can see why. The 2 drinks I had where amazing and the food was good too. Since the drinks where perfect. (We visited also the other bars in this Top50 list and I got the same drink and this was definitely the best). This bar specialty is Negroni so if your into it you should definitely go!

    Went to have drinks. Service - excellent from hostess to waiter to bartender to server. Everyone was on point that night. Ambiance was lovely and good mix of groups of different types. Definitely has the vibe of an establishment that’s been around for a long time. Extra bonus point for having a totally 80s pop playlist blasting. Ok minus a half for actually blasting it. I haven’t heard that many Genesis/Phil Collins in one sitting since high school. Drinks were absolutely solid. Old Fashioned was clean with very clear flavors. It was served with the upper class ice (eg one big solid cube) elevated even higher because the cube had “Dante” branded on a side which clearly was placed in the glass facing up to appeal to the discerning consumer. My friend’s Manhattan was served as a 2-part drink plus the extra leftover that made you feel … extra (and me jealous of the extra hooch). We ordered a cheese plate (3-cheese option). It came with some mini sliced figs, nuts (almonds in some kind of subtle glaze), Melba toast with raisins crackers, and a small bowl of honeycomb (are you not l supposed to eat that? Because we did and I’m still alive to write about it). The waiter even offer to refill the crackers. Terrific. We got round two of drinks - Gin and tonic for me and the Brooklyn something for my buddy. That G&T looked so innocent served with fruit slices but either it was just straight up G with no T or that Fords gin is private label for US Air Force fighter jet fuel. Fire. The buddy’s Brooklyn thing was kind of like a lighter Manhattan (like in real life) but still good. Sometimes older establishments age poorly but it’s great to find ones that are still going strong for the right reasons.

However, taste-wise, I’ve had better burrata and tiramisu, and the wild boar in the papardelle felt stringy and not as decadent as it should. Get the clarified pina colada. Nevertheless, easily high on my list for a date first or otherwise. Dress smart casual.

Apparently Dante was established in 1915 and this place brought over the Negroni from Italy to the USNegroni Happy Hour every day 3-5pm!     I came here just for the brunch pancakes and they DID NOT disappoint! These are hands down the best pancakes I’ve ever had in my life. So crisp on the outside and absolutely mouth watering-ly soft on the inside. The Amalfi Limonata cocktail was delicious as well. Highly recommend for a brunch spot.

    I hosted a birthday celebration at Caffe Dante, and it was absolutely incredible!. The food was outstanding — our guests raved about the Orecchiette and Veal Milanese, calling them some of the best they’ve ever had. The service was impeccable, striking the perfect balance between attentive and unobtrusive. Special thanks to Rebecca and the team for meticulous planning and communication. Caffe Dante has been a favorite for years, and this experience reminded me why. Can’t wait to return!

    5 stars all around! This place is very sexy, I love the vibe that the owner has set up and also the attention to detail on everything from their napkins to their drink coasters that were ready for the spring season. The cocktails did not disappoint, no surprise they have received the accolades they have to do, one of the best assets to NYC hospitality scene. The waiter was very attentive, had great recommendations, and coursed out food. We had the Dante salad which was very unique but full of flavors in each bite. We also had the funghi flatbread which was very delicious and then we shared spaghetti vongole which was really good, the waiter even brought us some bread to soak up the sauce. Best cocktail bar I have been to, matched with great service and a great scene!

    Pretty great place. It was a bit cramped, a bit expensive, and portions a bit on the small side. But, service was good. The ambiance was lovely - exposed white brick. The bar was very cool looking, with decorative bottles. And the food was delicious. The cocktails were great as well. I would go back for a bit of a splurge if Im in the area!

    This is an institution! So YES you want to go to Dante NYC established in 1915.Never in your life youll see such amazing cocktails. Years and years I had my expectation and high and oh boy! I was having sparkles in the eyes from all the cocktails. Imthey are truly and honestly straight from heaven. Not the kind you sip in two seconds, not the average, its not a drink. Make yourself comfortable and get a reservation for the absolute NYC old school great gatsby not prohibited cocktails.The food was simply the perfect match. I ordered the avocado toast with hesutation because I always feel that avocado toast are simple and can make them easily. BUUUUUT... AGAIN never In my life I had such an amazing avocado toast. The ricotta, the surdough, the herbs!!!!!! Just perfection. Same with the cocktail enjoy slowly and get lost with the taste and flavors.The deco. Just no comment. I mean just go to Dante !The service obviously goes in pair with everything. I was expecting a snobish place and wow, I was alone on a saturday brunch and just had the greatest service ever in New York. Nothing noooothing could equal that kond of Manhattan vibe with the touch of hospitality and attention. Biiigggest highlight to Pedro who made my day!!!

    Came here at 10pm on a Friday night for drinks after having dinner next door. We only had to wait for about 5-10mins to get seats at the bar. I loved that they had multiple non-alcoholic cocktail options. We got the non-alcoholic cosmo/mojito cocktail and it looked and tasted great! The service and ambiance were great too.

    A really brilliant night out, although not cheap in the slightest! The staff are great, offering insightful advice on what cocktails to choose, and the flavour profiles of the different drinks, which are varied and very original. Clearly sell prepared and very careful out together, they range from classical and simple to ultra-modern and complex. Really worth a visit, but be aware that it is very very popular and you may not get a seat or a table, as it is really busy. The food looks good, although we didnt eat - a lot of people visit for the food. They have another restaurant next door which they own and direct people to when theyre busy.

    Hands down the best restaurant we tried in our 7 days in NYC, and the best Italian food we’ve had since I don’t know when. Margarita and old-fashioned were delicious. We started with the focaccia which was super tasty—ricotta with olives, peppers and anchovy were the perfect blend of savory, creamy and umami. Surprisingly kid friendly, but their website says that they are! My two younger kiddos (grade school age) had red sauce penne with parm and basil. Simple but really, really good. My teen, spouse and I shared the filet with compound butter, flatbread Bianco, and tagliatelle al limone (with pistachio pesto and stracciatella). Holy cow! The steak was the table favorite! But the tagliatelle was so bright and delightful and the perfect foil for the richness of the porcini compound butter and Swiss chard. We thought about getting wine, but the cocktails were so good, that we had a second margarita and a Negroni Bianco instead. Service was impeccable. They surprised our 8 yo with birthday tiramisu—candle and song included! Sigh. Perfect meal. We will be back!

    My wife and I chose to have dinner at Cafe Dante for Thanksgiving this year (2023) and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. YES, the food was wonderful but what really stood out - beyond the ambience which was immaculate - was the service! The staff was absolutely phenomenal and to have that level of warmth on a night when I’m sure they wanted to be home with their friends/families says a lot about this place. They allowed my wife and I to stay for a few hours while we waited to meet up with some friends and were kind throughout the entirety of our stay.     I had a surprise brunch at Dante yesterday for my sister and my mom and I were completely blown away.     Before actually visiting Dante, I had featured them in an article on the low ABV revolution for Drinks International. Dante is a shining example of an industry shift towards lighter aperitivo-style drinking establishments. Inspired by their travels in Italy, the team wanted to promote the European style drinking experience to New Yorkers, accustomed to sipping Old Fashioneds, even before dinner. Original founder Naren Young says that customers often hang out for hours, sipping four of five of Dante’s sessionable drinks like the Garibaldi, Americano, Spritz or lighter versions of the Negroni.Dante is an Italian aperitivo hangout done well. Think Bar Termini but on a larger scale. A staff with positive energy, comforting natural lighting throughout the bar, and skilled and happy bartenders making a better rendition of the Garibaldi than in Italy. I had such a great experience at Dante that I was tempted to visit a second time the following morning before my flight back to Milano.

    Dante has an extensive list of cocktails presented by a talent group of bartenders. They were able to help pinpoint my friends pallette and create the perfect beverage for her. In addition to that the bar was busy, but not loud so we could easily share a conversation without yelling. Last as seen in the picture, the cocktails are stunningly crafted.

    I made a reservation for a large group corporate happy hour, and my experience was truly great. Michelle helped me set the reservation as well as a few welcome drinks and selected appetizers so that everyone would have something upon arrival. When I found out that it was supposed to be cold outside and knew our reservation was for an outdoor section, I was worried we would be too cold, but there were powerful heaters that kept us plenty warm. The cocktails were seriously delicious and the food was SO good - I only tried a few vegetarian items, but even the roasted potatoes were amazing!! Our server was lovely and gave great recommendations, and the busser who helped us was so kind and great at his job. My team was extremely happy with everything and impressed by the quality of the drinks and service as well as the decor inside the outdoor seating area! Overall very well done. I hope to come back with family for a sit-down dinner soon!

    Such a cool place with great food. My company always needs a quick but tasty option before we host guests at the comedy club nearby. They take large and small groups and make their space work for the different occasions you have. Love them!

    An absolute delight. Perfect martinis with little briny sidecars. Smiling waiters who love their job, the food they serve, and people they work with. Painstakingly crafted pastas with layers of flavor. Tartare with marrow butter mixed in to make the most fatty bite of beefy goodness. Custom dog bowls for the pup. I’m quite pleased with our decision to trust Dante with our evening.

    Had the best time at Dante. The drinks were delicious and Sebastian was a joy to talk to. If you are looking for an intimate evening with a cozy atmosphere and hand crafted cocktails this is the place! Cant wait to go back.

    Amazing cocktail bar. The tiramisu eggnog is amazing! Their selection of martinis is extensive and the staff is incredibly friendly. Must visit for a cocktail night out in NYC

    Dante used to be THE destination for cocktails and sights in the city years ago... I feel like this vibe has changed drastically over the last few years. The drinks are overprized and are lacking in balance. The service and wait staff are super friendly, but not really knowledgeable about ingredients. What would have been a five star experience is edging on a 3 star one.

    I had a large group dinner here and it was absolutely amazing. I coordinated with Michelle who was so helpful every step of the way to create the best experience for our group. The staff at the restaurant were very gracious and attentive. They were very accommodating with the menu and generous with the portions, bringing more food and substitutions when requested. The food, drinks, and ambiance were wonderful. Would absolutely recommend!

    I would give Dante 10 stars if possible. The team made sure that the entire experience was flawless. We were 20 minutes late to our reservation, but they held our table. They accommodated the 2 toddlers in our party and made sure they had a great experience too. The food was amazing, the cocktails were awesome and the service was incredible. My family was visiting the city and this was my birthday dinner, I dont think we could have asked for a better night.

    Grande!!! Veramente un grande locale. I will come back… try the golden sbagliato! It is truely one of the best I have ever had… we were there on a Friday afternoon. The jazz band underlined everything and made our last day in NYC!!! It was fantastic! 😍

    Had a large get together for my wife’s birthday, and could not have been happier. Everybody was very helpful before hand and they even created a separate menu for her. The food is great and the cocktails are better. It was an enjoyable experience for all and we will visit again real soon when we return. Highly recommend for brunch.

    Voted best bar in the world for multiple years, the negroni happy hour here cant be beat. Solid Italian food at their original location in Greenwich village with some of my favorite cocktails in the city.

    Ate here early. 15 minutes was the shortest wait Ive ever heard of for Dante. Perks of going early. We had the arancini, the steak tartare, the tagliatelle, and the chicken parmesan. Everything is perfectly executed. Cant wait to come back.
