Dantes in the West Village is a great place to enjoy a sunny Sunday afternoon. My friend and I stopped by and sat outside, where we shared a few cocktails. The drinks were elegant and refreshing, making for a perfect way to unwind. I was impressed by the quality and creativity of the cocktails.I cant wait to return and try the food menu, which looks delicious, and experiencethe main dining area as well. The service was attentive and efficient, contributing to a pleasant experience. The outdoor seating provided a comfortable environment to relax and chat. The atmosphere was lively but not overly noisy, allowing for easy conversation. I appreciate that the cocktail menu featured a variety of options to suit different tastes. Overall, Dantes offers a good mix of drinks and a nice ambiance for a casual outing. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a enjoyable experience. -

I was there at Dante’s in the west village and have to say it was one of the most exquisite experiences of the year. My daughter and I were celebrating the holidays together and have to say the Dante martini is the best gin martini in town. Alejandro was our server and he did phenomenal. 100% recommend the Butterfly Branzino, the mushroom and oyster risotto was out of this world. And for entree the loaded potato with the grand imperial Cavair was a perfect statement. Looking forward to our next visit -

I love this location. The green velvet seats are to die for. The food is solid and the cocktails are great. It’s become a “basic” spot but it’s still good! -

This place is a fantastic restaurant! 🍴 Dante West Village 🗽 serves a wonderful selection of delicious 🤤 dishes 🍽️ - definitely try the Signature Charcoal Oven Baked ♨️ Bread 🫓 and Fire 🔥 Roasted Organic Chicken 🍗 Alla Diavola with Green 🟢 Goddess Dressing and Lemon! 🍋 Staff 👨🍳 is friendly and helpful, service is quick ⏲️ and professional, ambience 🎶 is great, and the place is beautifully decorated! 🛋️ I wish I came here sooner! -

One of the best restaurants in the West Village. I loved the atmosphere. The Aperol spritz is great, I also tried the salmon with avocado, I dont remember the name, it was also delicious. The service is fast. 10/10 -

Came a few times for their cocktails when traveling in NYC, enjoyed everything we tried with “fluffy” keyword in the name/description, they’re prepared with fresh juice pressed by their 2 Breville juicers. You can order their Garibaldi in a mini version for $5, it comes in a smaller glass, topped with the same fluffy foam and a fresh wedge of orange. Very close to the flavor profile of Gadibaldi is their salty dog and fluffy margarita royale.Every time we came the service’s fantastic, casual, friendly, make you feel comfortable and feel welcomed but never too much. Often they have a line without a reservation but it moves fairly quickly if your party size is small.Lastly, love their ambience, chic and romantic are two words I think of when I look at their decors. Overall, really enjoyed our visits each and every time. They opened a branch in LA, would love it if they could consider branching to Boston, it really needs a good cocktail bar like this one to elevate the whole cocktail scene. -

Martini hour gets wild! Our experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived until we left, I felt welcomed and pampered by the food and the service. It was our second time here we didn’t wait more than 15 min when the waiting time supposed to be 25…run to Dante for martinis 🍸 -

$10 Martinis? YES PLEASE!10/10 highly recommend visiting this spot!My friend wanted Dirty Martinis, so I began searching for places in New York that offered them during happy hour! After some digging, I found Dante’s West Village, which offers a happy hour deal on Martinis from 3-5pm. Woohoo! We decided to walk in because there were no reservations available between 1-5pm, and ended up waiting in line for about 30 minutes. So, plan ahead and try to get a reservation beforehand. The line is specifically during the happy hour, making 3-5pm their busiest time of the day.We all ordered Dirty Martinis, and the server presented them with a fancy flair (extra points for the presentation and warm greetings by the server in curly hair 🌟). Since we got our table late, our second round of drinks wasnt part of the happy hour. Interestingly, the non-happy hour drink size is larger than the happy hour glass. However, both versions were very strong, so the size difference didnt really matter.Overall, Id say this is a perfect spot for a date or meeting friends. But I cant emphasize enough—you need to reserve in advance! The only reason I was okay with waiting 30 minutes was because one of my friends was running late. -

I headed to Dante for a quick lunch and had an amazing time. This isn’t my first time here but I thought I’d share my experience. I started with the flatbread and my drink of choice was the Rockmelon 75! Bubbly, refreshing and a great riff on the classic. My bartender Ramon was great and attentive (my water glass was never empty!). Thanks again to the Dante West Village Team! -

One of the best brunch spots in the city. I asked for my avocado toast to be deconstructed. Comes with halloumi, peppers and egg. Cocktails also best in the city . This is a gin martini with a sidecar of extra cocktail chilling on ice. Food is delicious. Cocktail list is expansive. Atmosphere is amazing -

Oh my God, the vibes are immaculate inside this place!! From my first experience at Dante West Village in the Fall of 2022 to now, each visit has been amazing. The staff are so kind & the cocktails are excellent (personally, I rec the Fluffy Margarita Royale + the Mezcalito). Their food is excellent, too!! I cannot recommend this spot enough!! :-) -
Review 12 (2024-12-28 - Rating: 4)
Amazing vibes and good service, but wasn’t completely blown away by the drinks. Happy hours martinis were a great experience but I can’t see myself paying full price for anything we ordered. Still would recommend for a solid happy hour spot! -
Review 13 (2024-01-14 - Rating: 5)
Love it just as much as the other location. One of my fave brunch spots since the food is good, the cocktails are superb, and the atmosphere is lively. The winter/holiday cocktail menu is on point. Our fave brunch items were the fall Harvest bowl and the eggs and mashed peas. Can’t go wrong with anything on the Negroni sessions menu. -
Review 14 (2024-05-15 - Rating: 5)
This is a LIVELY spot for happy hour. Lovely little 10 dollar martinis are premixed and poured for you throughout the restaurant not just at the bar during happy hour which is from 3 to 5. The staff was friendly and quick and the drinks were also poured quite quickly. I’d love to come back to eat as the food looked great. We drank it the dante martini, the upside down gibson as well as the old fashioned -

Review 16 (2024-06-01 - Rating: 5)
This was such a delightful experience. As an avid martini drinker and cocktailer I was in my element with the martini and specialty cocktail list and it was an extensive one at that.We went for brunch which meant we had a long day ahead of us, which meant we couldn’t try all the good things that we wanted to. Extensive day drinking and me don’t mix lol. But the food was really good but I just so appreciate the craftsmanship of their cocktails. Definitely a must try and highly recommend you experiment and have fun.Follow on IG: ps_onemore4theroad -

The place was amazing, the service was the best of our night, David provide the best recommendations, the food was good but the burrata was a little bit hard, I’ll come back surely. -

Beautiful place at one of the most neighborhoods of the city, West Village. Breakfast was fresh and savory. I recommend this place to everyone who is looking to have a nice breakfast with a wonderful scenery. I didn’t try their cocktails but they seem to be pretty famous there. Service was excellent. -

Incredible experience! My partner and I traveled from Canada to NYC for my 30th birthday, and the welcome at Dante was so warm. The service, atmosphere, and food were exceptional—we can’t stop raving about it since returning home! Plus, the martini was the best we’ve ever had! Thank you once more! -

Amazing Cocktail! The lamb chops and potato side are also very delicious. Very stylish restaurant with good services. -
Review 21 (2024-10-14 - Rating: 4)
Good variety of cocktails. Generally we were satisfied with the food, drink and service. It was nice the server helped us move to a bigger table when we ordered a lot. The minor itch was a dead fly on the sofa, which was a bit out of the scene and could be improved. -
Review 22 (2023-11-09 - Rating: 5)
Absolutely fantastic experience yesterday for lunch. All the food was delicious, as were the cocktails. The Negroni flight is worth ordering, as you can try four different well presented Negroni variations. Service is fantastic. It’s a bit of an expensive place, but somewhat justified given the quality and experience. -
Review 23 (2023-07-28 - Rating: 5)
It’s been a “hot-minute” since I had such an impeccable dinner from start to finish, as I had at Dante. From start to finish, everything was perfect! The atmosphere, the service, the drinks, the FOOD! Let’s talk about a restaurant where every single appetizer we ordered (and had second rounds of everything) was phenomenal, entrees were delicious and desserts were delightful! I can only say that if you haven’t been to Dante West Village, you are missing out!Highly recommend the Zucchini blossoms, the Stracciatella bruschetta, the Heirloom Tomato salad (star of the evening) were my all-time favorites! -
Review 24 (2024-04-09 - Rating: 5)
I went to Dante’s twice in one weekend and absolutely got so lit off the best cocktails ever made. I got lucky Friday night 5:30pm when two seats were open at the bar & again during brunch on Sunday at 2pm. It really gives true sex & the city west village vibes. The decor and ambience is top tier. The bartenders really know what they’re doing and they such lovely entertainment. It became so fun to watch the guys make cocktails and everyone’s heads would be turning, “what is that?!” I’ve gotten to know all of them and such great lads. Special thank you to Manny who kept us staying to spend more quality time because we couldn’t turn down the superb cocktails. Espresso martinis are a classic but I officially am in love with the cosmonegroni which I was never a Negroni or vodka kind of gal. Not to mention, I got sent a drink with my photo printed on my cocktail. Now this truly blew my mind. It really is the little things that matter! Tried the skirt steak and burger, it was pretty delicious! Thank you again to the whole Dante team, always great hospitality. If I could pay for a seat to sit at every time I pulled up, I actually would. -
Review 25 (2024-11-02 - Rating: 4)
Im probably not the right market for this place. Noisy and tightly packed and very, very popular, Dante West Village has a lot going for it, but comfort and price are not among them.First, the staff were, to a person, amazing. Knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating. Management knows what theyre doing when it comes to hiring and training. The specialty cocktails were good to great. I sampled the fall bourbon special (the name escapes me), and it was as exceptional as our server said it would be. At $28 (the price of one of their cheaper entrees) it had better be!The lamb chops and burger were both very good, but their chicken caesar left a lot to be desired. It was so underdressed it should have been cited for indecent exposure. It wasnt a fluke as we had two for the table and neither were properly coated. (And yes, they absolutely would have brought more dressing, but thats not the point at a high end restaurant.)Overall a good experience, but I wasnt left feeling like I really *had* to go back. -

We were in NYC for the weekend celebrating a special milestone for our daughter. Our server brought us out their delicious banana bread on the house to start our brunch and also treated our daughter to Tiramisu with a candle and singing to mark the occasion. The restaurant was so beautifully decorated, warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to celebrate! -

Could not say more positive things about this place - they had an extensive drink menu with well balanced cocktails and yummy food. My fiancé had been searching for chocolate pecan pie this past holiday season with no luck, so we were overjoyed to find out that they had it. The vibes were splendid and service was fantastic. I can’t wait to come back. -
Review 28 (2023-05-21 - Rating: 5)
Everything about this place was amazing - ambiance, staff, food! We hit major traffic on mothers day and they held our reservation for us, which we really appreciated. And we were greeted with complementary champagne. Only downside is the bathroom situation. (Always a long line due to only two toilets.) -

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating Valentines Day at Dante West Village in New York. Upon entering, the atmosphere was beautiful and romantic with roses decorating the space. For the occasion, they offered a special pre-fix menu. The service was excellent and the staff was very accommodating. The food and drinks were delicious, the dessert was too sweet for me. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend visiting Dante West Village for a special occasion. -

Going to Dante for a celebratory drink and dessert at the end of our elopement was one of the best choices we made for our wedding day! They welcomed us so warmly, were beyond accommodating, and made us feel so special. Not only was the service top tier, but the cocktails and cake were to die for! They took such amazing care of us & we will definitely be coming back in the future!! Dante is truly a must visit spot! -
Review 31 (2023-08-08 - Rating: 5)
Lovely evening at Dante West Village for some cocktails and oysters. Our server accidentally brought us the wrong drinks so we got a round on the house. Both drinks were very good and the oysters were fresh & delicious. Nice atmosphere sitting outside. A little hot so might recommend bringing a fan in the summer time! -
Review 32 (2023-11-15 - Rating: 5)
Classic NYC spot for a NY-styled martini or other cocktail, as featured in the revival season of “sex and the city” on the same street of her brownstone filmed. Great vibe and very New York. Book early! No walk-ins on busy days. -
Review 33 (2022-11-23 - Rating: 4)
Interior is beautiful, service is good. Cocktails are delicious along with the way they are served. Unfortunately the food is too simple and it’s not so easy to find what to eat. But still had a great experience in Dante. -

Best for brunch of drinks. West Village location > Greenwich village location. Everything on the brunch menu is delicious but the split pea pesto is so underrated. Incredibly attentive staff and adorable decor inside and out -

We are tourists from Norway visiting the finest places in New York City for food and drinks.I was here having drinks one night, where i had Yann giving me the best service and drinks you could ask for. I therefore deicided to make a reservation for the day after, and went with my family for lunch and drinks.Adam was very kind with us, he was always there when we needed something and at the same time worked without taking any attention. The food was good, and we were served deilicious Martinis and other specials by Yann and Leo. Yann made our visit extra welcoming and warm.Im very happy to have gotten this great experiences at your Dante West Village.I truly admire your work! -

Shante (host) is truly an incredible asset to Dante. We come here often, and she consistently goes above and beyond to ensure guests are treated well and fairly while they wait. Dante gets busy, and you should not be surprised if you need to wait for a seat if you don’t have a reservation. Shante clearly sets expectations on wait time, and even offered us to order in advance so our drinks would be ready as soon as possible after we sat down. She also offered to move us inside as indoor seating became available. She truly cares about all guests. The drinks and food are also incredible. We love martini hour, and the fluffy margarita. The bread and butter is also perfect. -
Review 41 (2024-02-08 - Rating: 5)
Dante is reliably a wonderful spot for carefully crafted drinks and lighter bites. I came the other night to catch up with a friend and we were treated with such warmth by our server, Rozie. I had mentioned that I named my cat Dante after trying their famous espresso martini for the first time and she asked for a picture - then threw it on top of my drink. We felt so cared for and had a stellar evening. The vibes were electric and the drinks were made to match. Dante serves as a great meetup spot for friends, an impressive atmosphere for a date, and the bestttt spot to sit outside in warm weather and enjoy a cocktail. -
Review 42 (2023-10-05 - Rating: 4)
The burrata was great: very fresh. I was not a big fan of the beef tartare, the flank was great with the chimichurri. The flourless chocolate cake was a little bitter and not too sweet. -
Review 43 (2024-10-15 - Rating: 5)
Good food, one of those resturants where you cant really modify the menu. But overall okay. -
Review 44 (2024-10-02 - Rating: 4)
Dante is a classic. (I do slightly prefer the original location for the ambiance.)Dante’s cocktail menu is all over the place but the drinks themselves are great – though maybe just a touch too sweet. -
Review 45 (2022-05-17 - Rating: 5)
There is a special place in everyone’s heart for Dante bc who can resist? World famous martinis and delicious bites to accompany. It’s a dream. This location doesn’t serve the pastas or same menu as the Macdougal one. Both are amazing. I really liked the Arancini and cauliflower bites to accompany the drinks. -
Review 46 (2024-06-25 - Rating: 5)
Great place for late night drink. Make reservations if you can. Otherwise wait time can be pretty long. -
Review 47 (2024-12-31 - Rating: 5)
Looks fake - but is real. Beer could be fresher, bread needs to be upgraded, but high flame grill and cocktails substitute well. Tiramisu is unexpected. -
Review 48 (2023-10-23 - Rating: 5)
One of the best restaurants in New York. When you are lucky to get a table you can expect a great selection of Negronis (consult the waiter and you will learn a lot about drinks), delicious food (appetizers are big enough to share, the bread is fantastic) and an amazing service. -
Review 49 (2024-11-22 - Rating: 4)
Went there for lunch yesterday, first time I have been on that location since it was the Portuguese restaurant almost 20 years ago..Place looks amazing, they did an amazing job on the renovations. Food was excellent and service was great. The only thing that was a turn off was that I had to order 5 different bottles of white wine because the first four bottles I ordered they didn’t have on stock, management needs to do better job on ordering, other than that, everything was pretty good and I will definitely be back. -
Review 50 (2023-08-29 - Rating: 5)
Some of the best martinis I’ve had. The vibe during martini happy hour is also unmatched—the place gets electric and it’s a great deal on drinks! -
Review 51 (2022-11-05 - Rating: 5)
Maintains the original Dante focus of well balanced cocktails, while highlighting its own focus on Martinis (vs. Negronis at the original). The majority of their signatures are premixed and poured out of a large format bottle, so don’t expect something to be builtIn front of you unless it contains fruit juice or requires shaking for texture. That being said, all of their concoctions are consistently delicious. Expect a wait, especially on nice days, and with only 15 seats at the bar it fills up quickly. The piano in the back corner of the bar is a nice benefit of sitting inside when live music is being offered. -
Review 52 (2024-04-23 - Rating: 4)
Great atmosphere and vibe in this spot. It feels very buzzy and the whole place is very aesthetic, especially the front entrance and bar area. Came here to try drinks and have an appetizer. We haven’t tried many martinis in my lifetime and wanted to get a really good one. Our server was very kind and patient when explaining the different martini options to us. I tried the 20th century and my boyfriend got the “with a twist.”I was explained that the 20th century is the least “martini” of them all which I have to agree with. It was just sweet enough and had a nice almost creamy finish. The martini with a twist was definitely a true martini, but it just wasn’t for us. It appears to come premade and they pour it at the table. It comes with a side of lemon and lime peel to add. We don’t love strong drinks and this was strong! The waiter kindly exchanged it for another drink. The burrata appetizer was pretty good too. The prices were a bit high but it was what I expected.Nice place for a date. -

Service 5/5We got seated and were offered free welcome cocktails to start.Cocktail 6/5 no brainerFood 6/5 outstandingWe got the calamari - omg whoever created the seasonings they used on that thing and the tomato sauce, THANK YOU! 🙏The chicken- omg, phenomenal. Prob one of the best chicken I ever had. How can you keep the burnt skin crispy even after sitting in the fridge? 🤯 I did not try the burger but it looked sooo goood too.Definitely have to come back for other dishes and dessert! -

Dante in West Village is a cozy little spot with bar seating, some tables and booths, and outdoor tables when the weather is nice. The waitstaff is very friendly and courteous, very helpful with recommending food and drinks. Their drink menu is pretty extensive and they have seasonal options. The dishes we had were all solid, including a trout salad and a salad with halloumi in it. Overall this is a great spot if you can snag a reservation, although it is definitely a bit pricy. -

Service is unmatched here. Martini hour is from 3p to 5p and a handful of martinis are $10. Fingerling potatoes were good and so was the bread but really came here for the martinis and they did not disappoint. Would recommend getting a reservation as this place gets pretty packed. -

Only 10 minute wait for a table for 2 on Sunday evening. Scallop appetizer and skirt steak dishes were good. I would skip cauliflower steak...it was somewhat tasteless. Needs more flavoring. Tres leches dessert was great. Margarita cocktail was interesting. Mezcal cocktail was perfectly smoky. Mini Bloody Mary drinks and cute, tasty and a good value for $5. -

An excellent spot for top-notch happy hour martinis.Went for my birthday just to have some pre-dinner drinks and it was so enjoyable. Easy, fast, and well priced for delicious martinis. Not too big so you can try a couple different kinds and not feel too guilty.Excellent oysters as well. They make a lemon ice shavings topping for them as well that is unforgettably fresh. -

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Dante’s brunch options, and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the menu. The first thing that struck me was the stunning aesthetics of the restaurant. The ambiance was top-notch, although its worth noting that the space is quite small, so making reservations in advance is highly recommended. The staff at Dante were exceptional - they were attentive and efficient, which is no small feat given the bustling nature of the place. As for the food, most of the dishes we ordered were outstanding. However, its important to point out that the flatbread dish wasnt actually flatbread but rather a thick, fluffy pancake bread. Despite the misnomer, it was delicious. The yogurt and crispy potatoes stood out as the stars of the meal, both bursting with amazing flavors.Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Dante for brunch. Its an experience not to be missed, especially if you pair it with some of their delightful and refreshing signature drinks to kickstart your day. -

We went today for dinner. Their cocktails are amazing my husband and brother had their martinis and they loved them. Very nice and friendly service. The only reason I gave 4 star for food is the lack of vegan and gf options. My brother had a burger and he loved it, my gf salad was very tasty as well. However, since I am allergic to gluten my choices were limited and my husband is vegan and there were even less choices. -

Dante in West Village would be perfect if they had enough restrooms! Its a big, busy restaurant with the best drinks, and they definitely need more than two restrooms for over 100 people. The lines can be quite long.Other than that, everything was perfect! You must order the cocktails—they are a piece of art and taste delicious. Every single dish we ordered, from appetizers to the main course, was delicious. Yes, I would love to go back, and yes, I will recommend it to my friends. -

This place is delightful! Just a super comfortable environment. Grabbed dessert and drinks, couldn’t be happier with the choice. The Christmas cocktails are top notch, the butter rum was particularly delicious! It’s a pretty popular place but managed to walk up and grab a table without a wait so give it a shot!Burger, dirty martini also obviously great! -

What a great place for a weekend brunch - very friendly hostess and bartenders… we sat at the bar. It seems the Martinis are a must try, but the house margarita was great. Definitely recommend the Dante Flatbread too. -

Negroni haven!!! This is a newly-renovated classic West Village franco-italian bistro with an extensive (you guessed it) negroni list. Negronis on tap, negronis with mezcal, negronis designed by famous chefs (jose andres being one of them!), this place has it all for the negroni enthusiast. I’m a big fan. The food is definitely above average as well, as are the prices. One of the best things about this place is that its open and serving food till midnight even on weekdays. Definitely a late night vibe. I’m sure brunch here is fun too. Negronis for the win! -

The restaurant is very cozy and beautiful. We were there during the Martini hour 3-5pm. However the one I like is not on the list. I ordered chocolate espresso martini and regular espresso martini. Both were great. For food i got granola which is so good. Steak and eggs were just average. -

Wow-dropped in for a drink last Thursday and had the best cocktails we’ve had in NYC. If you’re lucky enough to have Renato as your bartender, make sure you watch the care he takes when making your drink. We had a Bloody Mary, Fluffy margarita and a Garibaldi. We made a dinner reservation for two nights later just because of the service we received at the bar for. Drinks. We were not disappointed when we brought our kids back two nights later. We had sever appetizers (calamari and arancinis to die for) then grilled skirt steak and sea bass special for mains. Jason our server was fantastic and lucky us that Renato was working again and he had new creations for us from the bar. We’ll be heading to the West Village to Dante’s for dinner every time we’re in town. What a gem… -

I had the most wonderful experience at Dante restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The standout of the evening was definitely our waiter, David. His professionalism and attentiveness truly elevated the dining experience. He was knowledgeable about the menu, offered fantastic recommendations, and ensured that every detail was taken care of.The food was exceptional. Each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. The attention to detail in both the culinary creations and the service is truly commendable.I left Dante restaurant with a full stomach and a big smile on my face. Its evident that the staff takes great pride in providing top-notch service and an unforgettable dining experience. I cant wait to return and explore more of their delicious offerings. A big thank you to David and the entire team for making my visit so memorable. -

Dante West Village is a great spot for a delicious and social dining experience. Their menu focuses on small plates, perfect for sharing and trying a variety of flavors. I recently enjoyed the ribs, arancini, and burrata, and all were fantastic. The tiramisu was the perfect ending to the meal. The restaurant also boasts a world-class martini list, so be sure to check that out as well. -

Review 104 (2023-06-01 - Rating: 5)
Great spot for drinks and modern Italian fare. It is pretty evident why the original spot was identified as a Top 50 bar in the world. The drinks are well made, imaginative and the bartenders love describing the drinks and working with you to find one to your taste. The food is also tasty and well made, so it is definitely not a situation of good drinks but mediocre food. The atmosphere of the place is loud, but in a lively and energetic way. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and had amazing charm to it. All in all, a great spot for drinks, food and a fun evening with friends. -

Review 106 (2022-08-16 - Rating: 4)

Review 107 (2023-04-09 - Rating: 5)
Pricey, but worth it. My friend and I were wandering around the village to celebrate my birthday and we didn’t have reservations, but they were able to seat us outside. Despite being the only table outside, the service was phenomenal. Sometimes you can feel forgotten about when you’re outside, but our drinks never went empty and any requests we had (like for their house made ketchup) were met.I ordered their chicken. I’m not a huge fan of chicken being served on the bone, but this was so flavorful and juicy, it’s impossible not to love it.The server also gave us matchbooks when we asked, which was nice. I walked through the restaurant to use the restroom and I loved the interior vibes as well. Lives up to the hype. Also, get the bread! -

Dante truly exceeded our expectations, even though we only ordered drinks. The ambiance alone is worth the visit – its like stepping into a chic, yet cozy oasis. The staff were incredibly attentive, making sure our glasses were never empty and providing excellent recommendations based on our preferences. The cocktails were expertly crafted, each sip a flavorful journey in itself. And lets not forget the presentation – every drink was a work of art. Even though we didnt try any food, the experience left us eager to return for a full dining experience. If youre looking for a top-notch spot for drinks with friends or a special someone, Dante is the place to be. -

Review 115 (2024-05-13 - Rating: 5)
World famous cocktail bar, that also serves delicious food.I had a fuzzy margarita with Hawaiian lava salt. Not their best, but decent. My friend had a lovely non-alcoholic cocktail.Mushroom / ricotta sourdough appetizer was delicious. But quite large so share with a friend. The steak tartare is top 3 I have ever had. The crostini is a special kind of bread that is crunchy all the way through. It’s held together with bone marrow broth instead of the traditional quail egg, which gives it another layer of flavor. My friend had the spring risotto. A little on the soft side, but still excellent. The dessert… oh my. I literally exclaimed “oh my god” when I tried the first bite. So good. The champagne/cognac vanilla ice cream digestive was a bit too liquor heavy, and mixed with the dairy from the ice cream is just odd. I recommend the affogato instead, which I had last time.Make reservations at least 2 weeks in advance, otherwise expect a 1-3 hour wait. -

Rosemary (Ashley?) our waitress went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed the evening gathering (hope her efforts are recognized), food is tasty, outstanding and our party of 6 was able to share several dishes (shishitto peppers, cauliflower, radicchio, mussels, THE bread and butter, salads, steak, sweet potatoe and potatoes w/ alioli took us all through a culinary journey!). Environment is pretty chic with good music. Suggest making reservations ahead or sending an email to get the date/party size of your convenience. Thank you for making my celebration special (oh! And flourless chocolate cake a must with good cocktails!) -

We had a great time here. The service was so kind and engaging. It made the night! The Dante and Dirty martinis are not for the faint of heart but are exceptional. I had never had a martini with BOTH gin and vodka — what an experience! Couldn’t find fault with the food either; the steak tartare was particularly delicious. They were out of oysters but it was the first nice day of the year so it could be forgiven. Overall, this place is way more pleasant than their sister restaurant, where service was rather stiff and indifferent. On that note I was very pleasantly surprised. -

One of my favorite spots in the city. 10-dollar martinis from 3-5p. The burger is unreal. I typically never order chicken when out to eat because it’s something I cook so often at home, but the chicken main on the menu is highly underrated and delicious. This restaurant just might be the only exception to my rule! Every drink and dish is good which is why there is always a running waiting list. Yes, the menu is on the pricier side but what you are paying for is worth it. If you can snag a table outside during the summer months I highly recommend you do so for great people watching. 11/10 @resyswithrachel -

Bottom Line: A New York staple for cocktails and ambience in the heart of West Village.Highs: Dante West Village exceeds expectations when it comes to service, style, and of course their extensive cocktail menu. Start off with a Spicy Fresca and move onto the Dante or Twist martini, and finish off your visit with one of the best espresso martinis in the city. All of the bar, wait, and host staff are professional and truly make you feel valued as a customer. Its now a regular spot; nothing better than watching the bust of Hudson Street at Dante on a Friday evening.Lows: For what you pay for, the food isnt as top-notch as their cocktails, but then again, they arent famous for their food. -
Review 126 (2023-07-29 - Rating: 5)
It’s the little professional touches that stand alongside the well-curated menu and excellent flavors on each plate: water glasses never allowed to go empty, clean silverware with each course, watchful wait staff who have refined the art of welcome, quality roasted coffee beans, delights in the drink menu. We smiled all the way home. Many thanks again! -

Dante never disappoints. It would have been a 6star experience if it wasn’t for the hostess that is on a serious power trip. The entire staff was super fun, friendly and just great to be able to spend time with. So they all made up the initial really bad experience… the hostess that was there on Thursday evening probably should have a Negroni before starting her shift… that would likely help her relax a little and be friendlier. -
Review 133 (2022-03-06 - Rating: 5)
We came here for coffee in the afternoon. It was busy but not crowded. The place has a really nice atmosphere with a bright, airy, and open feel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, did everything right to make our little pit stop enjoyable. We sat indoors but outdoor seating also looks beautiful, with carefully arranged decorations and a little bit away from the busy road and sidewalk.Prices were very reasonable, especially given that this place has an upscale feel to it. Coffee was very good. I would come again if I happened to be in the neighborhood. -

Review 136 (2024-04-03 - Rating: 4)
The place is nice, it smells like smoked food indoors which I don’t enjoy a lot but if you’re ok with that scent, the place is warm. A little snob, but maybe that’s the vibe they want to share around. We had reservation but it was delayed, and we couldn’t have a drink while we’re waiting. The food was tasty, but not crazy to wait for delays. However, the place is cute if you don’t mind those details. Some people of the staff, great, others a little snobby and not friendly. Extremely loud place too, if you like to have a conversation, it’s not the kind of place I would recommend. You should try it at least once to find out tho, maybe it’s fine for you. I like lively places but not the ones with such much noise that you can’t hear the person next to you. -

Such a lovely space! Beautifully designed with cocktails that are thoughtfully crafted. On a summer afternoon with large windows and lots of light, this is the perfect place to grab drinks with a friend. We unknowingly booked a reservation during Friday Martini Hour, and it couldn’t have worked out better. The place was packed and lively for 3pm, serving half price martinis to customers. We got two seats at the bar and ordered martinis and manhattan’s. Both were very well made. We got the steak tartar which was also very tasty. The bartenders were friendly and gave us some other recommendations in the area. Highly recommend making a reservation for Friday martini hour, TGIF! -

Dante is a well known staple in New York and this second location is very well done. From the decor to the atmosphere to the service and the drinks, everything is top notch. Though in turn the prices are on the higher side. Don’t let the prices scare you away though as the cocktails we had were really good.My personal favorite is the Brooklyn cocktail though you can’t go wrong with any of the martinis which they are known for. Service was great and the noise level wasn’t too loud despite it being very lively. -

I was at a large family party at Dante’s yesterday. So many things can go wrong when dealing with so many chatty ladies. But the entire staff was on point serving us drinks, appetizers, lunch and dessert. My water glass was never empty and neither was my cocktail. The food was amazing…especially the arancino. If I lived in NYC, Dante’s would be my special neighborhood place. Well done! -

I wish I could give this Dante SIX stars! From the moment you walk up, put your name down, to signing your check - they provide an A++ experience. The drinks, of course, are world class, but the food is also so delicious. We had the most wonderful server - Kathy! She was actually the highlight of our evening as she was helpful, totally engaging, and left us with smiles on our faces! The Maître D - Morris - was also great, and provided us with realistic exceptions for when we would get seated and did his best to get us in as quickly as possible! Go here, and have a great time! -

Nice ambiance, a little bit busy inside but perfect outside. Our waiter was attentive, and suggested drinks and food to us.Burger was delicious, juicy and with perfect additions. Side of potatoes had an outstanding sauce, and we got the secret of its ingredients. Halibut was not my favorite, it supposed to be roasted, but came out soft, almost poached, immersed in thin tomato broth. Still, good quality fish, edible, not going to order it next time. Cosmo drinks - good, service - good. Overall, very pleasant experience. -

I had a wonderful experience here. The ambiance, food and drinks were great but even more noteworthy were the staff. The hostess, Grecia, made special accommodations (without specific request) for my guest and I which was extremely considerate. Jessica, the manager made us feel like regulars, a level of comfort that highlighted the evening. To all the servers and staff that attended to us, every single one of them displayed a level of professionalism and care that must be acknowledged. Looking forward to going back! -

The best espresso martini I’ve ever had! Chicken dish wasn’t great. Bread was excellent! -

Food 5/5The cocktails were mindblowing, definitely deserving of being the second best bar in the world. The cosmojito was stellar, as well as the melon seltzer drink (forgot the name oops). The food was also very satisfying, especially the cauliflower. The burrata was also very fresh and light, great pairing.Atmosphere 5/5Super cute and elegant, loved the color scheme and gold details.Service 4/5Decent -

World’s best scone!! We were both blown away by this cute little scone. Wow.Overall a very nice experience visiting Dante West Village. My boyfriend had the avocado toast with halloumi and I had the granola. Both very good. The granola was very sweet. Half way through it became a bit much but I’m also very sensitive to things that are too sweet so I knew the risk. If it had something more sour or bitter to break the sweetness it’d be perfect! The staff was also very nice. They were much over our table, removing empty plates and refilling glasses etc and for us this can be a bit too much as we’re not used to it as much Europe. But we guess that’s a part of their service. We’d defiantly recommend Dante to everyone we meet. -

Came here in a Friday evening after work. I made a reservation one month in advance since this place is pretty popular. Unfortunately their AC didnt work and it was incredibly hot indoor and outdoor! Kudos to the staff for powering through. It was so hot that the only thing I felt like eating was a salad. The drinks I ordered were good and the affogato was delicious. I need to come back when its not sweltering hot in the restaurant to try some of the other dishes. -

Really amazing cocktails (though not as strong as youd expect) and desserts.Waits were not as bad at the West Village location as I was warned about for their MacDougal st location. Also (and this matters more now in Nov 2020), they have way more space outdoors here and more proper barriers+distancing here in the West Village location too. -
