    Rooftop at the Aliza Hotel. Usually require reservation but went on a Monday and was able to access. The girl at the lobby is very friendly. Once at the roof top I dont know what is their rule to decide who goes to which side of the roof top since its divided in 2. It was not crowded and many seats available and wanted to seat close to the window but they said no so was seated at the bar. Not very friendly but I didnt really care since I wanted to enjoy the place and the views.

    Great creative cocktails with an amazing view! The back part of the bar was closed off for a private event so we didn’t get to see the view from there which we were sad about, it would have been nice to know in advance when we booked! The space is also much smaller than it looks on the photos on social media. Otherwise great experience, atmosphere and service!

    Such a beautiful roof top bar that has views on both sides of the building! The service was nice and we loved being able to go back and forth from our table to outside to enjoy the viewThere were 6 of us so we made reservations a few days prior and had no problems getting up thereStaff was very helpful and friendly

    The Dear Irving experience begins when you arrive at the host stand. Devin is my new favorite New Yorker. Shes sassy, fun and genuinely wants guest to have a great time! Id come every day just to be entertained by her! Once upstairs, the rooftop view is jaw-dropping! I was there on a Saturday night so there was a Dj playing a good variety of dance tunes! The drinks were amazing & decently priced. I give 4/5 b/c I didnt order any food but if youre looking for a vibe its definitely 5/5!!! Devin, thanks again for suggesting I get cute & head up stairs!

    We had the most amazing experience at Dear Irving on the Hudson!!! Devin downstairs was the most gracious hostess with all of the best recommendations! She even booked me her favorite table #33 to host a birthday 🎂 party. Absolutely check out this stunning view, great service and wonderful peeps. The panoramic views of the city skyline were absolutely breathtaking and set the perfect backdrop for our night.The bar had a chic and modern ambiance, with mood lighting that gave the place a cozy yet upscale feel.     My grandma, whos never left Australia, wanted her first overseas trip to be new york. It was especially significant for her, as she had lost a dear friend she planned on travelling to new york with before covid changed the world. My partner and I had such a great experience at Dear Irving last year, we put calendar reminders in to book a spot as soon as it was available. I promised my grandma incredible views of the Empire State Building. Unfortunately, there was a social event on that night and we couldnt view the Empire State Building. Staff and the manager were incredibly accommodating and organised us a premium table that had a space downstairs after our first couple of rounds of drinks. My grandma was so grateful and had an unforgettable night. Its moment like this that make or a break a trip, so thank you so much for accommodating us and helping my grandma live her dreams. Love this place.

    My son made reservations to this amazing rooftop cocktail bar. The views were amazing! The interior is small and cozy with classy speakeasy style lounge chairs and couches. The views of NYC from this area are great. The drink menu was somewhat intimidating for me being that I am not a typical cocktail drinker. However, the server was very patient in describing what the drinks contained as he added recommendations for me. After visiting the restroom, I made my way to the back section, behind the elevators where I unexpectedly found an outdoor section with even better views compared to those from the other side of the building! The amazing views of the NY skyline are what make this cocktail bar a hit!

However, it excels in creating a memorable experience with its stunning 40th-floor scenery, excellent service, and inviting atmosphere. Be sure to book a table in advance, and you can request seating near the window for an even better view—my request was kindly accommodated during my visit.

    Advice- make reservation on time! Wonderful views of the city, even on a rainy/cloudy day. Cocktails are ok, small bites as well. You do have to order at least 1 alcoholic beverage per person and 20 % service fee is included.

    Enjoyed my brief visit here. Was greeted and accompanied to the rooftop bar. Bartenders were kind of too busy, not paying attention for the longest time (it wasnt very busy, and most people already had their drinks). Got myself a non-alcoholic Buzzy Tonic for nearly $20, it was ok... I also got a kick out of reading their menu mines alcohol 😬. The views is where its at! Overall, I have had a good experience and definitely recommend visiting.

    This is a nice place for a drink and snacks after work. The view is nice but not the best compared to other rooftop bars in Manhatten. It is more on the expensive side but considsring the location with proximity to Times Square it is reasonable. The cocktails and snacks are very good and the service is great. It gets pretty busy after work hours during the week so a reservation is recommended but not always necessary.

    I could not have asked for a better rooftop bar experience. The whole staff here was phenomenal, they are beyond accommodating and allowed one of our party to join an hour later into the reservation due to a delayed flight. We all felt welcomed with open arms right from the start with checking in with Devin and Carolle. They are so warm and friendly and made our night just that much better. Once upstairs our waiter Jojo was so helpful and fun, he recommended an amazing passion fruit drink based on our preferences. We moved down to the 40th floor later in the night which had spectacular views of the Empire State Building and more. We also felt such welcoming energy from the manager Jermaine. Once we went down to the first floor he went out of his way to say goodbye to us. We are all so glad we chose to come here and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, elevated, and inviting rooftop bar experience.

    The best rooftop we saw in New York!We found this rooftop in lastminute and what à surprise!We went after sunset and quite early, something like 7 pm, as a result we had a table in front of the best skyscrapers without any reservationwe took mocktails, they were refreshing and very tasty !Staff was very nice as well!

    Loved my experience here. Showed up with 3 friends and no reservation and waited about 15 minutes to be scanned up. After ordering some drinks we decided to eat. Chatted with the host Jermaine who was super accommodating, even though they were fully committed he told us he had a spot we could eat in for 45 min before the reso showed up. Food was delicious, showed up quickly. My friends were visiting from Charleston, SC where we all worked together at a luxury rooftop bar, and given we are picky, we’re all impressed. I guesstimated about $300 for the bill which came out to $250 so given the view and level of service it is very appropriately priced. Will be retuning with friends again.     We had our wedding here last year and it was an amazing experience! Classy, incredible views and surprisingly affordable! There was plenty of food and drinks for our guests too, and everything was tasty!I cant even say enough about how much we loved the venue!     The cocktails are really good. The food is small bites so dont expect to get a full meal out of here. I take business clients here and third dates.They have an affinity for using whiskey and gin very well in interesting combinations. The service can be a little slow (but extremely cordial and high effort) but the place is often just jam packed and they do their best. Dont expect two quick drinks. On the other hand youll be slightly sad when its time to leave.Am a little unclear on what the dress code is these days. But let me emphasize that after going through many places in Manhattan this is my standby rooftop bar.How often do you see the credit card bill in Manhattan and smile at the fond memories? Most places you feel a sense of wow I regret that in Manhattan. Not here!

    BEST ROOFTOP BAR IN MANHATTANI’d give Dear Irving 10 stars if I could. I was blown away by the views here during my first visit. This bar couldn’t be located in a more perfect location- it allows you to catch beautiful views of midtown, Hudson yards, Empire State Building as well as FiDi and jersey city.The drink menu is extensive and the prices are standard for any rooftop. I was a big fan of the firebreak. I requested to have a table outside on the patio and they were easily able to accommodate my requests so I appreciated that. The waiters and staff are fast, attentive and very friendly as well.If you can come here on a sunny warm day during the sunset, it’ll totally be worth your time!

    2.27.19 - fantastic views. Ask for seats on the Southside to catch the sunset and views of the ESB.Cocktails are done well, not too sweet, not too dry. Staff seems friendly; the hostess in the lobby, a young lady, was very very nice and conversational, but not too much.Ambience is super relaxed at the open, no experience at peak hours.Great spot to go to right after a matinee, so get a nice early nightcap if youre part of the finely aged folk.

    This place has incredible views with great cocktails. The atmosphere is stunning. If you are looking for a nice and chill spot to drink and just enjoy the night, I recommend this place. Oscar was our server and is super great. The hospitality from the hostess, mixologist, and Oscar was excellent. My husband and I would love to go back again. Its recommended to make a reservation.

    Very nice pleasantly decorated rooftop with inventive cocktails. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and made our beverages just based on our description what we liked and did not like.The view on the side facing Hudson River is ok, but has an outdoor terrace. The side facing midtown has much better views, but no outdoors and did not have AC which was a big decisive factor against it on a 85F day.

    Hoping this review doesn’t start a line out the door but… WE CANNOT GET ENOUGH of this place and the views (no matter where we have been seated), from the ambiance to the music to the familiar faces… it’s the perfect hidden gem/only in New York/Central meeting point for friends, family, co-workers, employees and visitors… trust us we’ve done all of it. “Wow” is all we ever hear.Gotta recommend some things on the menu too:The Leopard Print cocktail and the Wildest RedheadYUM!! Just YUM! The mixology here is so precise and intricate. You truly feel like a meal for a drink is being made with all of the delightful ingredients being gently added to each stir and shake.The Nibble Plate… we’re suckers for nibbles!!! But it’s such a good compliment to any of the drinks and pre or post dinner or theatre.I don’t know… We’ve just never left without a smile and a longing to return. *sigh*Thank you always Dear Irving on Hudson ❤️

    Can definitely recommend this place. Just opened about a month ago, so not yet overrun! 40th floor bar has chairs by the floor to ceiling windows. Uptown view js nicer than downtown. Next week they will be opening additionally the 41st floor which is by reservation only. Beer $10, glass of wine $14.Coat check free.

    This whole neighborhood is a little sketchy and gives me the heebie jeebies, so I need a reason to make my way over there. I was pleasantly surprised to find this very stunning cocktail bar. It’s classy and the seating is arranged so it doesn’t feel stuffy. Come right around sunset and see the views in the great floor to ceiling windows - very romantic for a date. The cocktails are good - I had one which I really didn’t like and the bartender was nice enough to make a different one for me which I appreciated. The small bites aren’t that memorable or tasty, so I’d stick to the drinks at this place.

Drinks and food are super nice and the service is excellent and fast once you get there.Unfortunately the lifts are temperamental (the 1st one we got on just kept bouncing without actually going up, the other ones take absolutely forever) and the receptionist in the downstairs lobby is the rudest person Ive ever encountered in a hotel/restaurant. They shooed my partner away without looking at him when he enquired about the lift and just seemed annoyed in general.Also the bar toilets were pretty grim.But if you get another receptionist and the right lift, its worth it!

    Very cool little spot to visit. Ambiance makes you feel like a VIP that got invited to an after party. Good cocktails and a few small finger foods. Me and one other person had 2 drinks each and shared a meat & cheese tray. With a tip the bill was right at $100. Only complaint I could see is the size. We were fortunate and went on a rainy night so there werent many guests. Just from looking around I wouldnt think the place could hold more than 30 - 40 people at a time. Definitely glad we went though!

    Even on a rainy NYC day place was absolutely incredible. From the hostess, Devan to Jermain the manager who greeted us to our server Jesus (I hope I got all these names correct but they were all amazing) The ambiance, the views, the service, food and drinks were all incredible. This is a must stop place in NYC and I can’t wait to be back. Be sure to ask for any off the menu drinks too! 11/10 recommend

    This is now one of my favorites places to go for a good cocktails. Located in the 40th floor of the Aliz Hotel. Has a double side view of the city and the atmosphere is very good late night. Kitchen close at 11:00pm. Keep that in mind if you’re going with hungry. I definitely will go again.

    There always is some anxiousness when planning a destination wedding. But Dear Irving staff and accommodations could not have been more perfect.From setting up to staffing and service, we could not have asked for things to go anymore smoothly.     Whether to attend a birthday celebration or need last-minute plans on a rainy Sunday night, you cant go wrong here. From being greeted by name as soon as I walk off the elevator, to our waiter Adrian who made the perfect drinks for us based on our drink preferences (drinks not on the menu might I add), the experience was no less than exceptional. Adrian was also super attentive, friendly and warm, I easily ordered a couple of more rounds and invited another friend to join the fun. Thank you to the entire staff for making a rainy winter Sunday feel like a breezy summer night. The beautiful skyline view is merely just a plus. I will be for sure returning!

    This is hands down one of my favorite rooftops in NYC. The decor is stunning, vintage, and great for a mini photoshoot.     My now husband I got married here through their “wedding chapel” on 12/31/23. The staff as nothing short of fantastic. Our six guest enjoyed the venue and the short ceremony just as much as we did and it was overall the perfect wedding. They were very understanding and accommodating throughout the whole booking and organizing process and did an amazing job. We couldn’t be happier!

    This is a perfect rooftop bar if you want to have a cocktail or a glass of wine and a snack with a fantastic panoramic view of New Yorks skyline. The menu has wide variety of cocktails and the food consists only of some snacks, so it is not the right place if you come specially for food, but the place is the perfect choice for the atmosphere, service and the amazing scenery from the 40th floor. You need to reserve a table in advance, you can mention that you would like to have seats near the window (for the view), in my case the restaurant fulfilled my wish.

    3.5 / 5.0 - Dear Irving on Hudson is a good option for a rooftop bar in Midtown with amazing views of the city. They have 2 floors on the 40F and 41F of Aliz Hotel Times Square. It is mostly inside, with a small outdoor balcony area.I personally prefer the 41F, which has a more luxurious feel, but my recent visits have been to the 40F.The 40F has some seats by the windows to enjoy the stunning views, as well as a couple of seats outdoors on the balcony and more comfortable sofa seating inside.Every time Ive visited recently, theyve had an event on the east side, facing Times Square. The west side still has views of Hudson Yards, and also south views, from the balcony. However, during my most recent visit, the party on the other side was so loud with their screaming and cheering every few minutes it was quite disturbing and we could barely hear ourselves talk.As with many other rooftop bars, you are here for the views and experience. Cocktails are $19 with an additional 20% service charge automatically added to your bill. So I was not pleased with our latest experience, but as long as you don’t have to deal with excessively loud parties, you should be fine.

    Me and my partner spent a long time doing research and looking into options for our anniversary trip for the perfect rooftop bar in Manhattan. We took a chance on Dear Irving on Hudson and it was the best decision we coulda made. The hosts in the lobby were mad nice and welcoming so from the moment we walked in we already liked the vibe. There’s 2 floors we got the 41st floor because of our reservation and I would recommend doing so too. we got a love seat facing Downtown Manhattan which was such a beautiful view. The open air balconies can get busy wit people taking photos but we went a few times around 10:45 and 11:00PM and it was fully empty so we could just chill and take in the view. The drinks were amazing - we had the Copper Crown Tea, the Lime and Leisure and the Sparkling Rosé. The experience was a bit expensive but you get your moneys worth wit the view and atmosphere especially since there’s no 90 minute time limit like some other rooftops around the area. The music is perfect - a dope chill mix of house, garage, hip-hop, and R&B records. I’m big on music, especially the genres that originate in New York so hearing artists like Kaytranada, Tyler the Creator, Drake and Mase completed the experience. And I can’t end this review off without giving the biggest shoutout to our waiter Jesus. One of the nicest I’ve had, great service and he made the experience 10 times better. I could not recommend this place enough to anybody on the fence about coming. Thanks for making our anniversary trip amazing.

    This place was perfect for me and my friends to have a rooftop bar experience in NYC. It is conveniently located if you have come in for the shows and are staying near Times Square. The drinks and food were delicious and the servers were all friendly. The bites were all excellent quality. The Steak Frites were especially good. The host got us in even though we had to make last-minute plans to go here rather than another location. I was impressed and greatly appreciated him.I really enjoyed the atmosphere, which was relaxed and comfortable with plush seating and music at a reasonable volume so that no one had to shout to carry on a conversation. And the best thing of course was the view, which completely fulfilled my dream of seeing the city from up high.

    Absolutely fantastic! Cant wait to visit again. The view is incredible. The drinks are amazing. And whoever the DJ was on November 16th created such an amazing atmosphere. I literally left because the DJ left. I guess the sift was over. But the mixes that she was playing was some of everything. Hip hop, afrobeads, bachata, and it all flowed. Just keep her around until close lol. Didnt eat here so I dont know about food. But I will definitely visit again.

    This was my first time visiting Dear Irving with some old colleagues and it did not disappoint. You get a great view of the city and will see some very instagramable moments while you are here. I ordered the Leopard Print and Croque Monsieur and both were great. The thing that is most important to me is the experience and the staff was amazing. From checking us in, to never having an empty glass, and having the manager check in, it was great. The staff treated us like we were the most important, even though there was many people to attend to. I will be back for sure and will update my review.

It may be that they were just understaffed the night we went there but we only saw our waitress twice the whole night.     I hosted a party for my book on an October night on the 41st floor for about 90 people, and it was a dream come true in every way. The staff were warm, kind, attentive, 10/10 service, the hors doeuvres were delicious, as was the signature cocktail that I got to try. I just cannot say enough good things about this spot. Its gorgeous. Both big partitions were open to the air and the views were breathtaking. Planning the event was very smooth, and the hospitality director Roman Volland was a true gentleman who anticipated & met my every need before and during the event. I wish I had another excuse to have a party there because Im already missing the space, the food & the drinks.

    Elsa, Shawn and Amanda were amazing. We stayed that the Aliz hotel and met Elsa in the elevator who took time to talk to us and encouraged us to check out Irving.     If you are looking for a rooftop venue for a private event, just stop looking. THIS IS IT.I cannot express how happy we have been with Dear Irving on Hudson. We elected to host our cocktail wedding reception at a NYC rooftop- we toured many locations at several different price points, and this was BY FAR the best. Now that our event is completed, I can say with full confidence that we made the right decision.-The price. Yes, there is a minimum spend for the venue, but it is about 20-30% less than the comps out there and the quality of the food/beverage and service is about 400% better. Please trust me on this.-The vibe. WOW. the views are spectacular. We rented the 40th floor, which is a more mid-century design with a James Bond decor. It is stunning. Our guests were wowed as soon as they stepped off the elevator (and promptly greeted with a glass of champagne-nice touch). It is so stunning that you truly do not need to add any decor.-The service. Every step of the planning process was guided by the superb Events Manager, Roman. Roman was responsive, thorough, and just a pleasure to work with. Everyone- from our servers and bartenders to the manager on-site was polite, professional, and efficient.-The Food- delicious. A few of our guests were chefs, so this needed to be top-tier. It was. The paella and filet mignon were crowd-pleasers, but even the simplest appetizers left an impression. And, the cheesecake pops were a kid-favorite 😉Drinks- This is certainly where they shine the brightest (and should be). You cant go wrong with the cocktails here. For a private event, in addition to serving classics you select 4 premium cocktails to showcase. we had a tasting prior for food/beverage (also really well-done), and chose our favorites. While our favorite cocktail here is the Wildest Redhead, The Pearl Collins was the hit on our big day since it was a record hot day in May!We have recommended Dear Irving to all of our friends, family, and co-workers, and we will certainly return multiple times to this special place.Big shout-out and thanks to everyone involved in our wedding reception -- you truly helped make our day very special.

    It might be the nicest place in the timesquare area or anywhere north of 34th and south of the Columbus circle. They control capacity downstairs so it’s never overcrowded.The menu is great but it’s all small plates so plan for that.They’re considerate enough to have a non alcoholic menu but I wish they’d train the bartenders to not announce to the world that your drink is non alcoholic. Most people who Skip alcohol are tired of the “why are you not drinking?” questions

    This place is fairly new so its not hard to get a table on the weekends before the tourists catch on. The views are breathtaking as this venue is on the 40th floor. Two balconies one facing north and the other south towards empire State and world trade. Drinks are also reasonably priced for the location, and a treat.     Cocktails with a side of Manhattan! Unless you get views like this elsewhere on your trip, its worth a visit!Unless youre a guest of the hotel, book ahead! Be warned also that parts or all of Dear Irving may be closed for private parties on a given night, so dont rely on one particular night to go.You have to report to the hostess in the hotel lobby and wait for an elevator she activates to get you to 40th. This can get busy on the hour based on reservation times and it may be just me, but the AC in the lobby and lift were close to non-existent.The snacks are just that, snacks, so dont expect dinner sizes.The cocktails are great and you can go off-menu asking the bar staff for inspiration :-)

There is nothing like its incredible views, its ambiance, its comfortable seats, exquisitely delicious cocktails, their incredible customer service...This was my first time having my birthday celebration at a rooftop bar in NYC and it was the best choice for my celebration.The moment I arrived with the cake at Dear Irving, the manager (If I remember right her name is Amanda) instantly came to me and took care of it. She has a very special way of speaking with her customers, really trying to understand and feel the event for you. She was so professional, so attentive and such an absolute blessing to have. The bartenders also came by our table multiple times, asking us if we needed more drinks, anything special..Eventually Amanda brought down the cake already lit with candles, she patiently waited for us to take pictures so she could take it back again to cut it and make sure everyone got their slice. The bar also gave us complementary drinks to accompany the cake which was on point with the tres leches flavor. It was perfect. Amanda was also very kind to offer a special complementary drink for me as the birthday girl, asking me what I was interested in having at that time.The drinks were so good, the music, the space was unbelievable, it was incredible!     If youre able to get in, its a great spot to check out! We had a foggy view, but still a unique experience. Cool vibe, tasty food, and carefully crafted cocktails!

    Incredible city views, reasonably priced drinks for a rooftop cocktail bar. Amazing service, free drinks for my girlfriends birthday from the bartender! Additionally the snacks were very tasty and quite filling and complimented the cocktails which were of course delicious.

    Absolutely beautiful views of the city, tasty and unique cocktails, and fantastic staff. Their drink Dear G&T was amazing. I definitely want to give a shoutout to our waiter Jesús, who was so kind, attentive, and caring! We were celebrating our anniversary and Jesús made it a point to ensure we had a wonderful experience! We cant wait to come back.

    If youre looking for a rooftop with a great view, this one hands down has one of the best ones in Manhattan. All the couches and armchairs need reservation, but stools by the windows and at the bars are up for grabs. Drinks per se did not impress; no craft cocktails, the choice is small, and the drinks are simple. The place is a little pricey but the ambiance is good.a

    Don’t skip this stop on your nyc visit. Exceptional vibes, delicious drinks, and the best small bites you’ve ever had at a bar. The spicy tuna crispy rice bites were divine & the rock shrimp tempura was worth the splurge. Host Devyn at the front check in was the sweetest angel and a gorgeous icon. She deserves the world (which includes a raise). Servers were so attentive without being annoying. Can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed being here. We’ll be back!

    Gorgeous rooftop bar! I’ve always found good rooftop bars and good drinks to be mutually exclusive. Not here!Loved the drinks and the views! As others have said, try to get a reservation around sunset and get some of the most stunning views of the Hudson!We also came here on a Sunday evening and got some of the chillest vibes! They typically have a 90minute table time but let us chill for a bit since there were no reservations after ours.Every drink we ordered was so so good! We ordered:Roses and RuinsOffshore AccountPoppy ColinsVice VersaAlso this spot is managed by the same people who manage Raines Law Room, which is another amazing bar!

    I love the cocktails and there was a nice view but the atmosphere wasnt great. Its definitely a tourist trap and I dont get the sense the staff like working there. If it was more of a sit-down cocktail bar Id like it more but there was a lot of people standing. Most people seem to come for one drink and to take a picture then leave.

    The views and vibes here were out of this world. We had such an immaculate time, the staff were so warm and welcoming. Dev was so attentive and the food was AMAZING! Definitely going back!!!!!

    I visited this bar on a Friday evening, 6pm. The bar was not overflowing with patrons and seating was available. The atmosphere was sophisticated and relaxed. Both sides (north and south) of the space have a terrace. The host and bartenders were friendly and welcoming. I would recommend a visit to this iteration of Dear Irving.

    Had booked a table for pre-dinner drinks with girlfriends and Dear Irving DELIVERED. With clear skies and reservations at 6pm (early Oct) we got to see all the colors of the NYC skyline over the course of the sunset. The drink menu is extravagant and exciting (and a little pricey) but the entire experience was without a doubt worth every $

    Absolutely stunning rooftop patio and cozy decor. The vibes are amazing! Staff were kind and friendly. We were celebrating two of our friends graduations and they stopped by with personalized cards for them and two rounds of shots on the house. I’ve already recommended this bar to so many friends and will surely return on our next trip to New York! ❤️

    I’ve never been to this place, just randomly seen it on google and decided to go with 2 friends, the bartender Jojo is so ! he made us 2 tasty drinks that had passion fruit in it. Diego the host was super kind too, and the host from downstairs with long hair, the whole staff overall is so nice and would love to come here another day!

    We had the most amazing experience staying at the Aliz hotel and at the rooftop bar! The views, service, drinks and food were amazing.
