INTERESTING 🧐interesting bar that’s for sure! Not exactly sure what to make of it. Lots of rules and lots of country but also a lot of graffiti! What’s going on!I like keeping things simple and straightforward and if you’re anything like me, you’ll want to mentally prepare for the chaos you’re about to feel here. But I THANK Doc Hollidays and willleave them be! -
Review 2 (2022-09-28 - Rating: 4)
Didnt even know this was a Texas roadhouse style bar til I noticed the vibes and the jukebox selection. But overall I had an awesome time. Plenty of variety when it comes to liqs. But I kept it simple with some bourbon 🥃. -
Review 3 (2022-08-29 - Rating: 5)
I’m so glad Doc Holliday’s survived covid. The bar looks like a hole in the wall kind of trippy place but the drinks are inexpensive, people are authentic and a fun place to stop by to play pool, pregame w friends and enjoying a night off in Alphabet City. Make sure to bring cash as it’s easier to pay for drinks that way. -
Review 4 (2023-12-25 - Rating: 5)
Loved this place absolute blast. Bar tender was awesome and drinks were FANTASTIC. Definitely will be going back. -
Review 5 (2024-07-18 - Rating: 5)
Classic dive. Great music. Great vibes. Pool table and big buck hunter! -
Review 6 (2024-09-26 - Rating: 5)
Great spot for cheap drinks and busy atmosphere. Neighborhood favorite -
Review 7 (2022-04-20 - Rating: 4)
It’s a very hipster vibe bar, fun and weird at the same time, drinks are good and people are really nice, a very young and hipster crowd -
Review 8 (2024-01-12 - Rating: 4)
Early evening, not a big crowd, but welcoming and friendly. The jukebox has the best selections! The pool table is popular and the Guinness tastes good. -
Review 9 (2024-03-12 - Rating: 5)
This place is crazy! The country music on the jukebox was rocking, the beautiful women were dancing, and the drinks were strong and tasty! This place was nonstop fun! And the craziest part.....this was like at 6pm! We had just started our evening and found our way to Doc Hollidays. It was packed to the gills. I could swear it was already peak party time at 11pm at night. But no! It was barely 6!The only bummer was that they only take cash before 9pm I think it was. So bring plenty of bills if you want to drink early. The bartenders were very nice so dont you dare short them on tips! My brother, like an idiot, gave the bartender exact cash for the first round and she took her time getting back to us with our second drink. But after I started leaving a more generous tip we found ourselves back in her good graces. My apologies for my brother maam.Anyways, it was a great time and we will definitely visit next time we are in New York. -
Review 10 (2024-09-25 - Rating: 5)
Best Dive in the East Village! The only place to go to play some real pool players. -
Review 11 (2023-07-22 - Rating: 4)
Had fun here with my friends. Great spot but they have to fix their arcade machine. Wish it was a little more spacious. -
Review 12 (2019-10-09 - Rating: 4)
This dive bar is really growing on me. Super friendly inside. Its got a small pool table that has seen better days but for some reason it keeps drawing me back to this bar. The wonder stays on bar rules is fun and brings randoms onto the table all night. So come make some new friends over a beer and done pool. -
Review 13 (2022-04-27 - Rating: 4)
This spot has a great vibe and really good drinks. And being a former graffiti artist of the 90’s, I definitely appreciated the aesthetic, made me feel close to my roots and a little less entrenched into this gentrified cesspool NYC has become. My only complaint is how far it is from the train, but that’s the lower east side for you. -
Review 14 (2024-03-23 - Rating: 5)
I think this is my favourite dive bar in NY! Great atmosphere, friendly staff and they let you bring in pizza from next door. -
Review 15 (2022-05-13 - Rating: 5)
Loved this bar. A real ‘wipe your feet on the way out’ kinda place but the grime / grunge just works. Old fashioned jukebox, a pool table and an arcade game provide the entertainment. All rounded off by a great bartender. Worth a visit. -
Review 16 (2024-08-12 - Rating: 4)
Just a classic dive bar -
Review 17 (2023-03-04 - Rating: 5)
Haven’t been here in like 5 years and f—— I feel old but vibe is still right on. Lots of country singing. Is that a tik tok thing? Idk. But it’s not like karaoke, just a bunch of people singing Allen Jackson itty bitty together. Love the some. Love the vibe. Definitely different from 5 years ago. But I’ll be back. -
Review 18 (2014-03-05 - Rating: 4)
This is a great place to hang out and play pool in the east village. Its very divey, but with such a friendly vibe. Theres always country music playing, which I dont mind, but beware if youre not a fan. Ive always had a good time here, especially on week nights when its less crowded. Definitely recommended for a night out with friends who dont want to spend too much money! -
Review 19 (2015-11-16 - Rating: 5)
Classic roadhouse dive. Amazing jukebox of country legends (Hank Williams). Also has a pool table. Loud music and a usual local crowd, mixed with some youngsters looking for the old East Village. Cheap beer and good times always. -
Review 20 (2016-08-03 - Rating: 5)
Docs is an East Village staple. A classic dive bar. Its usually crowded on the weekends, but thats about it. Not too many finance bros either, thankfully. A more relaxed crowd. It can get a bit loud, but nothing too bad. Expect lots of Johnny Cash and old country! -
Review 21 (2023-10-07 - Rating: 5)
Nice bar but cash only -
Review 22 (2018-09-10 - Rating: 5)
This place always gets me in trouble.... The best kind.... But if I go in here odds are more likely than not I wont remember leaving. One of the best jukeboxes in town, and I dont typically listen to those genres of music too much, but they have all of the best of it here.... -
Review 23 (2020-01-14 - Rating: 4)
Its a fun place. Been around for ages. Pool table, jukebox, lots of seating. Friendly staff, lots of adult beverages for whatever suits your palate, good vibes all-around. -
Review 24 (2023-06-14 - Rating: 5)
Classic bar, fun decor, bring cash. -
Review 25 (2024-06-01 - Rating: 4)
Crowd is cool and there to socialize and shoot pool. Great classic country playing and bartenders have a great vibe. Younger crowd. I felt on the older side at 31.Downside is there’s a $20 minimum for plastic money. So bring cash if you’re only buying a drink or two. -
Review 26 (2023-01-30 - Rating: 4)
The height of East Village grunge, friendly, a neighborhood staple forever. Graffiti, a pool table, benches and nooks. Never dull. -
Review 27 (2023-10-15 - Rating: 5)
Its a dive bar... enjoy 🤙🏾 -
Review 28 (2012-01-31 - Rating: 5)
A dump. BUT ALL YOU CAN DRINK. Its weird for a bar in nyv to fake being a dump, when you can just be a dump, but this cowboy themed dump does a good job. Smells like pee pee, weird cowboy memorabilia. A cowboy mosaic on the outside. But listen to me. LISTEN TO ME. tuesdays, 10 bucks. all you can drink bud light. shoot Ill wear a cowboy hat if you let me drink all the budlight I can drink for four hours. win win for me. I think it goes for 4 hours. and by the end you cant smell the bar anymore anyway! -
Review 29 (2016-03-12 - Rating: 4)
No bullshit, honky-tonky County bar. Pool table is a little beat but at least they have one. Not for everyone, but a great dive bar if thats your thing. -
Review 30 (2021-08-11 - Rating: 5)
Love the place and the area, bartenders are great and they know what they are doing. And the crowd is very friendly. Honk Tonk bar. Awesome. -
Review 31 (2024-12-31 - Rating: 4)
Great dive bar -
Review 32 (2016-10-20 - Rating: 5)
One of the older dive bars in NYC. Cheap cans, an almost all country juke box. Definitely the only honkey tonk dive in NYC that I know... Dont forget to tip! -
Review 33 (2022-04-09 - Rating: 5)
The touristy stuff can be fun, but dive bars like this can’t be beat. We stumbled upon this gem and had the BEST time with the regulars. And the bartender Joanna was the absolutely best at what she does! -
Review 34 (2018-07-29 - Rating: 4)
Super loud but good for cheap beer and a hangout with friends. Bathrooms surprisingly clean. Not going to get much beyond seating and beer. -
Review 35 (2014-11-20 - Rating: 5)
An institution. The East Village wouldnt be the same with out it. Its your warm, charming dive bar, with a great jukebox, cheap bear and clientele with character. -
Review 36 (2022-04-26 - Rating: 5)

Review 38 (2017-02-05 - Rating: 4)
The beer is cheap and I love watching city folk try to act country. But all and all a great bar. -
Review 39 (2019-06-10 - Rating: 5)
Great Bar with Country music and oldschool RocknRoll, tough waitress and authentic athmosphere. -
Review 40 (2022-02-27 - Rating: 5)
Day drinking? The light, the prices, the locals and the folks behind the bar make this a great place to get drunk before it gets dark. -
Review 41 (2016-03-29 - Rating: 4)
Follow the rules, be a polite guest, drink something cheap, and enjoy your evening at this eclectic east village dive bar. -
Review 42 (2022-03-03 - Rating: 5)
Love the atmosphere, the bartender and bouncer were awesome and friendly! -
Review 43 (2016-09-07 - Rating: 4)
Awesome dive bar. Rough. Great music. Ugly. This type of bar is a dying breed in Manhattan. -
Review 44 (2024-03-15 - Rating: 4)
I like it here - reminds me of my days in the frat house -
Review 45 (2017-08-19 - Rating: 4)
Hipster country dive bar? Crappy 7 pool table. Overpriced drinks. Id find a real pool hall or a real dive bar personally. -

Christina, the bartender, is awesome! There are boots on the ceiling too, lots of boots on the ceiling -
Review 51 (2023-06-06 - Rating: 4)
I like this spot. The crowd isn’t too crazy, they are generally a bit older than most other college bars in this NYU dominated area. They have spots games on in the background and no one is dancing or up and walking around really. The bar tender was an absolute super star! She made us a bunch of random cocktails. Since it wasn’t too busy and I assume she was younger I asked her to make drinks she think we’d like purely based on seeing and hearing us sit at the bar. She pulled out all the stops. She made one that tasted like peach ring candy (my fav). She was fun about it. She entertained us and I hope she felt we didn’t make her shift any more difficult. This was after work on a wed/thur. -
Review 52 (2012-03-11 - Rating: 5)

Review 57 (2023-05-11 - Rating: 4)
Place is kinda cool but the amount of classic country songs missing from their jukebox for how many songs are on that thing is crazy -
Review 58 (2016-10-22 - Rating: 5)

Review 59 (2022-04-24 - Rating: 5)
Decided to stop in while on vacation from Canada. Drank a bunch of beer with some locals and staggered back to my billet a happy camper. Lots of quirky stuff on the walls that has accumulated over the years. A perfect New York dive bar. I will definitely drop in again when in the Lower East Side -
Review 60 (2020-06-27 - Rating: 5)
Doc Holidays is a great spot to grab a drink or two or twelve. They stylishly stamp stickers all around the vibrations of great audio selections playing nostalgic music. The staff are very kind, friendly, and accommodating. They offer pool and other games to enjoy. People do dance at Docs every once and awhile - when the mood strikes. -
Review 61 (2023-10-07 - Rating: 4)

Neighborhood classic. Docs is consistent. Fast service, great prices, good mix of people, friendly crowd, pool table. Its an ideal dive bar. They play mostly old school country music and blues, which you play from a jukebox. All-around great vibe. This is one of the best bars in the East Village. -

Review 70 (2018-06-27 - Rating: 5)
NYCs local honky tonk. This place is a blast. -
Review 71 (2018-07-27 - Rating: 5)
Probably the last of the original Lower East Side bars, and while their prices have gone up some since the old days they dont seem to be as blindly greedy as most of the other bars down here. And itll NEVER be the East Village to those of us who are left, its THE LOWER EAST SIDE! Now with sidewalk cafes included. Anyway, pool table, great jukebox and cool barmaids. -
Review 72 (2020-02-09 - Rating: 5)

Local staple for a reason. Know that youre coming to a divey, cash-only bar and youre going to have a great time. All types of crowds, santacon-friendly (and supportive), and just a fun cast of bartenders running the show. Sometimes it can be understaffed but everyone is still upbeat and keeps the service quick -
