I visited this place on a friends recommendation for a weekend evening. My friend mentioned theres usually a line, but luckily, there wasnt one that day, so we got in quickly. The vintage vibe and long interior were appealing. We each ordered a Key Lime Pie Cocktail. Although we didnt order food since we were just there for drinks before dinner, the popcorn chicken at every table smelled amazing—I regret not trying it!When the cocktails arrived, the taste was spot-on, just like eating a slice of key lime pie. It was fascinating to enjoy such a dessert-like flavor with alcohol. Usually, when cocktails taste good, they arent strong, but this one was both flavorful and potent. We ended up sharing another because it was too strong for two rounds each.Even though I dont typically revisit places, I would come back just for this cocktail, even if theres a wait! :) -

We loved it!Drinks were very delicious and extra innovative! We tried Japanese Cold Noodles, NYC Beet Salad, Mango Sticky Rice, France Toast and they were all great!!‘Hot honey’ Chicken sandwich had very unique Thai Basil sauce we enjoyed. We got to the line just a bit after 4pm and already had about 6-7 people waiting in the queue. We enjoyed everything so it was well worth the wait for us.Highly recommended for craft cocktail lovers.Looking forward to our next visit to try other items on the menu. -

Great place to grab unique cocktails and some small bites! Reservations are recommended since it is needed to dine in the back. Otherwise walk-ins will be seated up front by the bar. The bartenders are really helpful and will recommend something based on your taste. The small bites are also really unique with a mix of different flavors. -

LES has always been known for its urban art and it just added a new masterpiece to its collection. Stepping foot inside you are met with a two tone style approach. Front bar is a classic LES style cocktail bar. The back is where the real action is. The style of the bar is an architecture dream and presentation is a mix of Michelin star and relaxed lounge. An ensemble of bartenders create some of the most interesting and delicious off the norm style cocktails. All the staff is amazing in personality and performance. The cocktails are styled like food and are a welcome twist to the craft. The food while simple in description is worthy of the best regards. The experience is so artfully crafted I could only tell you to just experience it. -

My favorite place to get drink in NYC. The place is quite crowded and difficult to make reservation but you can standby to get in. Line is less crowded during weekdays. New menu in Free Range is based on cartoon characters. Menu in the back room is decomposed food. You cannot cross order from either side. They make sure you have to visit twice. Both are very creative and delicious. My favorite is Key-lime Pie. -

I finally understand the well-deserved hype after my first visit! Drinks are incredibly crafted and the vibes are immaculate!5/5 Key Lime Pie - a MUST try! First you are hit with the bright lime flavor that ends in a graham cracker crust, not spirit forward at all and exactly reminiscent of key lime pie5/5 Popcorn Chicken -- so crispy, so tender, perfectly seasoned without being overly salty5/5 Koji Cucumbers -- super crisp, with an addicting thai chili kick -

The best chicken sandwich I have ever had. I can’t wait to come back for the sandwich! Drinks were very good too. After eating the sandwich I ordered a cocktail with Gin and Green Tea and it just hit the spot.Walk in. Waited in line for about 30-40 minutes, and it was worth it (front room only). -

A mix of highs and lows. On the positive side, the grilled cheese chicken sandwich was phenomenal—crispy, flavorful, and just downright delicious. The cocktails also lived up to the hype. Across our table we ordered 6 different ones and they were each outstanding and innovative and balanced. However, not everything was good. The salt egg yolk chicken sandwich missed the mark—ot tasted like the oceans and not in a good way. No one at our table had more than one bite. The service also left a sour taste. The staff was quite rude, even trying to give away our table when one person in our party was just nine minutes late. To top it off, they wanted to charge me a dollar to add an extra olive to my martini, which felt a bit petty. -

My top bar in NYC!!! This is my second time here. The popcorn chicken is really nice 👍 We’ve tried key lime pie, cold pizza, custard bun and mango sticky rice.Among those, I think key lime pie is the most fresh one, and the custard bun is really cool and worth a try! -

Double Chicken Please is a fantastic spot with excellent cocktails and food. There was a long line and waitlist; even on a Tuesday at 5:00 PM, we had to wait for 2 hours. However, it was well worth it. We first sat at the front bar, which only serves beer on tap and some food. We tried the hot chicken sandwich, which was crispy, delicious, and full of flavor. Then we moved to the inside bar with a speakeasy vibe. The atmosphere was cool with low lighting, and the drinks were amazing and perfectly balanced. If you don’t want dessert, try the key lime cocktail—it tastes like dessert but isn’t too sweet. -

Out on a weeknight night?? If we got reservations to the 2nd top bar, YES, WHY NOT.Started with a NY Beet Salad and the Custard Bun. The Beet salad was not only colorful, but flavorful! It tasted like a garden. In a good way!! Hence, the drink is in the appetizers. Haha the Custard drink, I found too custard-y 😄Second, the POPCORN CHICKEN. The best. Imagine. McDonald’s 20pc nuggets is $10, the DCP popcorn chicken is around $12 (plus tax)… more flavor, real chicken, good vibes. Value at its best! 🐓 Another, please 🤤Got the DCP House Shot for my second and last drink. On the strong side, but enjoyed it sip by sip. I had the popcorn chicken as chaser after every sip. My fiance had the French Toast, his favorite. The “cookie” garnish was so cute and yummyyy. It’s like an espresso martini but mocha flavored 😄 a sweet treat, indeed!!Would come back for the food and try the other drinksss!Tim was awesome, ensuring we and all other guests would be attended to. Great service!!Enjoy your time at DCP 🐓 -

No brainer but this is my favorite bar in NYC! The drinks are always so innovative and the experience is so fun. It can be hard to get back room reservations but I’ve had luck either walking in early in the evening ~7pm and at the end of the night ~1am. I’ve also had the front room before which provides drinks on tap that are also really good!My favorite drink is the Japanese cold noodle but would recommend trying as many drinks as you can from their menu. I’ve also had their hot honey chicken sandwich and their mochi donut chicken sandwich which I think are mid compared to their drinks. -

Double Chicken stands as a testament to the art of cocktail crafting and culinary innovation, proudly earning its place among the top 50 bars in the world. My recent visit was nothing short of extraordinary, showcasing a delightful fusion of innovative ideas, exquisite cocktails, and exceptional service that left a lasting impression. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere buzzed with energy, setting the stage for an unforgettable evening. While reservations can be challenging to secure, I highly recommend walking in and adding yourself to the waitlist; the experience is undeniably worth the effort. The attentive staff quickly ensured we were comfortable, creating an inviting environment that felt both relaxed and upscale. The cocktail menu is a highlight in itself, featuring an array of inventive concoctions that push the boundaries of flavor. Each drink I sampled was a work of art, expertly balanced and beautifully presented. It’s clear that the mixologists here are not just bartenders but passionate creators dedicated to providing a memorable drinking experience.Complementing the cocktails, the food offerings were equally impressive. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, showcasing fresh ingredients and bold flavors that harmonized beautifully with our drinks. The innovative approach to traditional dishes not only delighted the palate but also provided a delightful surprise at every turn.Service throughout the evening was impeccable. The staff was knowledgeable about both the cocktails and the food, offering insightful recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. Their enthusiasm for the menu was infectious, making us feel like valued guests rather than just customers. In summary, Double Chicken is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an extraordinary bar experience. The combination of exceptional cocktails, innovative cuisine, and attentive service creates an atmosphere that is truly special. While securing a reservation can be tricky, the rewards of walking in and being added to the waitlist are more than worth it. Don’t miss out on this gem that brilliantly embodies what makes a bar truly outstanding. -
Review 15 (2024-07-22 - Rating: 4)
The cocktails are very good and refreshing but I’m not sure it’s worth the hype and headache of getting a reservation. I will say keep in mind the front part of the bar is not the same as the back. For one, the drinks at the front are batched! I try to stay away from batched cocktail spots. The popcorn chicken was solid but a bit on the salty side. Would order it though as the taste is still good. -
Review 16 (2024-04-12 - Rating: 5)
Great experience. Showed up solo at 3:50pm and waited until 5pm, they gave me the first bar seat in The coop backroom. Line grew really long after 4:20pm. This was January so I imagine its even longer sooner in warmer weather. Seating was limited to 90 minutes. Again, this is the backroom with the craft cocktails. The front room is no craft cocktails but food and beer and that had space for walk ins.Loved the interior, the bar, food, and drink. Had the salted egg yolk chicken, the Bolognese grilled cheese, and 3 cocktails - red eye gravy, raisin biscuit, and the french toast. These were the sweeter desert style drinks, but they had savory and classic drinks too that sounded interesting enough to plan to come back to. Service was incredibly quick possibly because I was the first inside but everyone seemed to get their food right away around me. The pricing was really great in my opinion for a place like this. The food in particular was almost all under $20. Craft cocktails were roughly $20 each which was expected, but for the quality it was worth it. -

I got the Japanese cold noodle and mango sticky rice cocktail. Also got the popcorn chicken. All great! I did have to wait for about half an hour. Good spot for solo as well -
Review 18 (2024-06-30 - Rating: 5)
Really fun bar with great ambiance. We’ve tried a few times to get reservations but they sell out almost immediately after becoming available. They say that they reserve 75% of seating for walk ins so you can get in if you get to the line early. We arrived around 6 on a Saturday and waited about 20 minutes for the front room. They told us 4-5 hour wait for the coop and we put our name in. After an hour in the front room they were able to seat us in The Coop. Definitely worth the wait if you can make it!We tried:-Koji Cucumbers-Baby gem lettuce-Popcorn chicken with hot honey and Thai basil saucesIn the Coop:-French Toast-NY Beet Salad-Shroom Ceviche-Key Lime PieEverything was amazing and we all loved the drinks and food. My personal favorite was Key Like Pie with French Toast as a close second. Also, the bathroom in the coop has sound effects so if you get a chance you should check it out. -
Review 19 (2024-02-24 - Rating: 5)
There really are no words to describe this. The food is excellent, and very well priced, and the cocktails are some of the best I’ve ever had. I didn’t feel that the prices in any way were exorbitant, the cocktails are fairly laid back in alcohol, and really are there to be sipped and enjoyed at a pace that befits the setting - quite fast. It’s difficult to put into words how delicious each one is, and we really loved the key lime pie, the cold noodle, and the French toast -
Review 20 (2024-05-18 - Rating: 5)
Awesome cocktail bar. A bit of a lottery. Some cocktails are exceptional others are “different”. The place has a great atmosphere. Very nice interior. Music on a very nice level. Audible, but not too loud that you cannot have a conversation.Opens at 5 and you need to 30min before that to then sign up for a place three to four hours down the road. -
Review 21 (2024-07-25 - Rating: 5)
Best bar in town - every drink is delicately crafted and I can’t get enough of it! Always a great place to take friends to go when they’re visiting NYC.Some of my favorites are Japanese cold noodle, Custard bun, cold pizza, and mushroom ceviche 😍 -
Review 22 (2024-05-22 - Rating: 4)
Was very excited to try this place but we actually thought this was a little over hyped. We enjoyed the drinks from the front room/bar a lot more than the back, perhaps we were not adventurous enough. While the flavors of the cocktails at the back were super spot on, we felt like it was too heavy for our liking. The chicken sandwiches were super massive and delicious. Overall would recommend! -
Review 23 (2024-08-13 - Rating: 5)
We went to Double Chicken Please on a Friday evening and only waited about 10 minutes before being seated. The cocktail are amazing : we got the NY Beet Salad, Mango Sticky Rice, Key Lime Pie, French Toast and Cold Pizza. All were good but the Key Lime Pie really stood out. The popcorn chicken was also delicious. -
Review 24 (2024-09-08 - Rating: 5)
The place was amazing starting from the very kind staff greeting you at the door. It’s small but you don’t feel packed and the drinks are incredible. Special thanks to Sasha who made our night with her kindness and great service -
Review 25 (2025-01-01 - Rating: 5)
Typically, I avoid waiting in lines, but this spot was undeniably worth the exception. The Cold Pizza cocktail was surprisingly refreshing and captured the essence of cold pizza perfectly. The Red Eye Gravy had a fascinating depth of flavor—truly unforgettable. However, my top drinks were tied between the Japanese Cold Noodle and the Mango Sticky Rice; both were impeccably balanced and utterly delicious. As for the food, the Mochi Donut Chicken Sandwich was one of the most creative dishes I’ve ever tasted. I’d gladly return to NYC just for that alone! -
Review 26 (2024-04-10 - Rating: 5)
The cocktails were fantastic with cold pizza being the best thing on the menu. Each drink we tried was extremely unique having its own independent flavor. We especially liked the key lime pie and would skip mango sticky rice and cold noodle (I know it’s hyped). Atmosphere was extremely chic and sexy. Service was pretty mid ngl, our waiter completely forgot about us and served others even though we ordered first but whatever… All in all top places to try in nyc for sure. -
Review 27 (2024-07-07 - Rating: 5)
Loved the ambience, energy, and fun cocktail creations! Staff is amazing ( especially Alfie) and offered great suggestions based preferences. My favorites were the Waldorf Salad, Japanese cold noodle, and mango sticky rice. A friend of mine had the mocktail version of Key Lime Pie and it was very yummy as well! Excited to go back and try the Custard Bun next time. Also got the Tofu sandwich which was crispy and had peanut butter so texture was on point. Popcorn chicken was a must and the salted egg yolk sauce was super yummy! -
Review 28 (2024-07-26 - Rating: 5)
Came here with a large group and we got to try out all of the speciality cocktails as well as a few the chicken sandwiches and popcorn chicken. Everything was delicious and there’s a drink for almost everyone. Definitely experiment around with what you think you might like. The coop was definitely worth it if you can get reservations. -
Review 29 (2023-08-23 - Rating: 5)
Awesome spot, understand why they’re at the top of the 50 Best Bars list. Got the hot honey fried chicken sandwich and some popcorn chicken. Massive portions for what you pay compared to other spots in the city and one of the best chicken sandos in the city. Unique cocktails. Got there at 4:45pm on a Wednesday as a walk-in and was the 10th person in line, easily found a spot in the front bar and also could’ve gotten an early dinner in the back room. Of note - if you don’t have a reservation, your entire party needs to be with you before they’ll sit you in the back room (much better vibe). So show up early, on time and with your crew if you don’t have a res!Update: Went back and sat in The Coop with a group. Even better then before - cocktails are definitely better in the back. Order everything on the menu, no misses here. Loved the Japanese Cold Noodle and Waldorf Salad cocktails. -
Review 30 (2023-04-14 - Rating: 5)
One of the best bars with inventive, well balanced cocktails. Had to wait in the line to get in, approx 15 minutes.Consists of two rooms, the first one has cocktails on a tap only, which is good to have a quick drink. If you’ve got time, wait for the place in the back room with a solid wood decor.Bartenders technique is impeccable. Tried 3 different cocktails, all of them got interesting flavor and amazingly balanced.Haven’t tried the food, but it looks very delicious. -
Review 31 (2024-01-08 - Rating: 4)
Drinks were so good and creative. Highly recommend for drinks! We also got the popcorn chicken and one of each sandwich. I’d recommend the popcorn chicken but not the sandwiches. My group of 6 did not like the sandwiches, which is unfortunate. We walked over to Katz after for sandwiches. -
Review 32 (2023-05-05 - Rating: 5)
Completely lived up to the hype of being the newly anointed best bar in North America! We failed miserably at trying to secure reservations in advance (they open up at midnight 6 days out and immediately disappear). As a result, we were left waiting in line and hoping for the best, which we were willing to do since we were in town for such a short period of time. We put our names down for the back room and eventually made it into the first-come first-serve front room. The drinks in the front room are all on tap and served on the rocks. I had the #13 which was quite good and gave me a bit of a caffeine boost as we waited for the back room to open up. We lucked out and were able to move to the back room very quickly after making it inside. From there, we started working our way through the cocktail menu, ordering the Cold Pizza, Key Lime Pie, Mango Sticky Rice, NY Beet Salad, and the Red Eye Gravy. Everything was remarkable! If we had more time (and a higher tolerance), we would have loved to try the remaining 4 cocktails we werent able to get to. These drinks are definitely works of art that any cocktail lover should try to experience at least once. We will likely try again at reservations the next time we are in town in hopes of getting through the rest of the menu! -
Review 33 (2023-07-25 - Rating: 5)
4.7 | very very impressed by the cocktails in the backroom here. Incredibly complex in nature with a wide variety of offerings and all whole being at a reasonable price point. The front has on tap cocktails, wouldnt say they were as well executed as the back. Food was solid with good flavor, although, was a tad salty. Would absolutely recommend a stop here for a drink. -
Review 34 (2024-04-30 - Rating: 5)
Amazing experience and drinks.Waited at 4pm on a Friday for their 5pm opening. 8 people in front in me, shortly after I arrived in line - the line was down the block. Get there early! Was able to sit at The Coop’s bar in the back instantly upon opening. The 2 bartendars were super friendly. Their craft and attention to detail making the drinks were A+++.All the other servers and helpers were great too.Ordered the Reverse Manhattan, Key Lime Pie, Hojitcha Pudding & Popcorn Chicken. Did not regret ordering any of them! After visiting, I can see why they were voted Top Bar in the USA and the world.Thank you for the great experience, DCP! -
Review 35 (2024-01-06 - Rating: 5)
This bar is one of a kind, their drinks are truly impressive and their chicken is fantastic! I really liked the NY Beet Salad, and the popcorn chicken is a must try. We got in line for the coop at 4:10 to be safe, the line tends to get big around 4:30ish, and we’re seated in the Coop, an awesome room with a great fun vibe. The staff is extremely friendly, and some great music to make this a really fun spot to be in. Great to go with small or big groups, and is 100% worth the visit. -
Review 36 (2023-06-29 - Rating: 5)
Truly a unique experience! Definitely a must for those that like to try out new bars. The drinks are quite creative. Make sure to visit The Coop (back room) to try out their most amazing drinks. In order to try the most meals, try to share whatever you order. Lots of good stuff. The way the cocktails are sorted is in an appetizer, entree and dessert pattern from top to bottom. Its basically impossible to get a reservation (due to bots getting those before one can) but the walk-in line is not that bad. Especially if you go early and on weekdays. -
Review 37 (2023-12-17 - Rating: 5)
By far one of the best restaurant/bar experiences in NYC. There wasn’t anything that I tried that I didn’t like. Service was great starting with the host being very organized and informative about seating. In the front bar I tried the #11 cocktail with brandy and coffee. It was very well balanced and had a great citrus kick. In the back room (The Coop) I tried The Key Lime Pie. It was the most delicious drink I’ve ever had in my life..no exaggeration. You can taste the crust!! Will absolutely be back to try the other cocktails on the menu. -
Review 38 (2023-08-26 - Rating: 5)
These drinks were so bomb. They are so creative and have such a diverse flavor profile. I think my favorite is the mango sticky rice but I want to come back and try more, the popcorn chicken was delicious as well. Shout out to Andres the bartender who is doing a spectacular job. The whole place had an awesome vibe, I can tell why its one of the best in the world. -
Review 39 (2024-04-19 - Rating: 4)
Honest opinion Its great, but also overhype, but most people reading this review will come anyway~Came here twice 2 Fridays in a roll: 1st round only at the front and 2nd for the Coop (backroom). Ill say only the Coop was worth it.Pro-tip: The queue is unavoidable unless youre lucky enough to snatch the limited booking online. Best way to do it is come queuing around 4 p.m. (1 hour opening), a host will get your number registered at 5 p.m. for the Coop, & go grab some good food in the area for like an hour or 2. Theyll text you when the Coop is available. That message must be reply in 5 mins & you have to be by the store in 10 mins. Its a lot, but if you want to try the Worlds 2nd Best Bar, thats what you gotta do.The front area consist of premade cocktails and delicious, juicy n crispy fried chickens. I tried the Thai Basil and the Salted Egg one. Both are super creamy and HUGE, so you can order to share. The cocktails here are just fine, not why they got the award for sure. The Coop is where the hype is for. Their base alcohol are basic brands (i.e. Gordon Gin), but its the mixed that made it creative. Each drinks are inspired by comfort food menu. Ive tried Japanese Cold Noodle (which taste as claim with strong hints of cucumber), NY Beet Salad (taste like Beetroot juice lol but I mean I picked it knowing that), & Key Lime Pie (taste as is, its a safe choice for anyone with right amount of sour & sweet). I think they achieve their claims for all cocktails & all are easy to drink, but from what I tried, only Japanese Cold Noodle feels unique enough. -
Review 40 (2022-10-15 - Rating: 5)
From the speakeasy ambiance to the carefully crafted drinks, this experience was a top notch and a must go if youre in NYC. The bartenders have a wonderful breakdown of what was in each drink as we ordered it: in the first picture we have the mango sticky rice drink in the back and the Japanese cold noodle in the front. The mango sticky rice drink was an interesting twist to the famous dessert - the drink definitely paid homage to the sweetness of the mango, but there were darker notes that you would not expect. It was delicious and an interesting mix. I loved the Japanese cold noodle drink- it was refreshing and balanced with cucumber, coconut and lime.We also ordered the salted egg chicken sandwich which was to die for. The server let us know that they make a house-made sauce that they dip the chicken in to bread it so that the flavor really infuses into the chicken. It was so juicy and delicious! I would go back just for lunch. -
Review 41 (2023-01-05 - Rating: 5)
Reservations required !! We made our reservation through resy for the back room. That’s where you get the amazing cocktails. They have a 2 hr limit at the back room. We came here for cocktails but I hear the food is also good. Cocktails aren’t potent. Most of the ones I tried was on the sweeter side. We tried 4 cocktails and loved the salad and key lime pie. It does justice. We were seated at the bar in the corner and were distracted few times with multiple servers picking up their orders. Would have loved a bit of interaction from the server or bar tender with a history of the cocktail we are consuming. Decent experience, didn’t have to wait in the long line on a cold evening. I would come back to try out more cocktails and food next time. -

Overall rating: 4.9I’ve been here twice and I still think about it to this day. I had both chicken sandwiches & I echo the other reviews - the salted egg yolk 🤤🤤🤤🤤 life changing, mouth watering, please deliver to Brooklyn, amazing. The restaurant is separated into two & you need reservations for the back of house (BOH). The mushrooms pictured are from there & the cocktails are all crafted. I liked the food, I didn’t hate it. I did get the vibe that it’s better for groups than solo.Being a loner, I was attracted more to the front of house (FOH). They’re first come, first serve & totally worth the wait. The drinks are all on draft & very refreshing.I will be back again 100% -

Sat at that bar in the coop on a Thursday and it was brilliant. Definitely recommend being at the bar so you can watch everyone in action and chat to the friendly staff (shout out to Irish Shane!), service from everyone was immaculate, and the drinks were the best cocktails weve ever had!! Brilliant evening and worth every $ -
Review 44 (2024-11-28 - Rating: 5)
Jack was an excellent server and the food was very good (lobster tempura). However, the drinks are anything but normal and if you’re looking for a “classic cocktail”, forget it. Let’s call a spade a spade: They’re weird. That’s the point. Good for sophisticates, bad for country bumpkins like me. -
Review 45 (2023-07-15 - Rating: 5)
For an exceptionally busy and popular bar, every server or hostess was gracious and very welcoming. For such a popular and acclaimed bar, I really appreciated that there wasn’t any sort of unpretentious energy going on - just people relaxing and enjoying a good time.Walked in early on a Thursday, waited 30 minutes for a space to grab drinks and food in the front room, and waited about 1.5 hours for the back room. There is a 90 minute limit per seating in the back. We had the popcorn chicken, hot honey chicken sandwich, and most of the speciality cocktails. Wow, are they skillfully done. The depth of flavor is great, and the layering of flavors / aftertaste is so impressive, particularly with Butter Raisin Biscuit and Cold Pizza. Cold Pizza and Japanese Cold Noodle were uncannily accurate, and the Key Lime Pie was exactly like eating a KLP. The Mango Sticky Rice was not too sweet, and the French Toast was also good. You can’t really go wrong with any of them. -

Double Chicken Please masterfully combines avant-garde cocktails + chicken-themed hearty dishes. I visited by myself and got a spot on the outer room (the main room is more lively and music is louder). Staff was nice enough to let me switch to a better table, food and drinks came out quickly. Really enjoyed their #8 and #9 cocktails. -

Stood in line in the snow at 4:45 on a Tuesday to get a spot and it was still worth it. Key lime pie drink felt like I was eating pie in the best way? Also wasn’t expecting the fried tofu sandwich to be so crisp and delicious with perfect accompaniment of fried shallots. Friends loved their chicken sandwiches and drinks as well- can’t go wrong and trust the process -

Every drink in the back room was crafted with detailed attention and creativity in integrating food into a fun cocktail. We tried the chicken sandwiches and tap cocktails in the front, but the back room is what makes this place unique. Our top picks:- mango sticky rice, Japanese cold noodle, French toast, key lime pie, cold pizza, NY Beet Salad -
Review 49 (2023-09-16 - Rating: 4)
Okay. So, do they have unique drinks and a decent sandwich menu? Yes, definitely. I totally understand the praise when it comes to Double Chickens unique take on different flavors and textures with their mixology. Theyre a great cocktail bar with a classy interior and swanky setup. I quite enjoyed their hot honey chicken sandwiches and loved how well it paired with the cocktails. But I have to wonder if the hype is more than necessary. I was in nyc on a Wednesday for conference and figured I had some time to check out the spot. As a solo diner, there wasnt an option to get a reservation, so I waited at around 4:30 for one of the walk-in spots, and it was pretty seamless overall. For larger groups, Id definitely suggest reserving ahead. The bar filled out completely in the first 10 minutes of opening, and service began right away. Drinks were definitely pricier (though not excessively); I expected that since I was paying for the unique backroom experience. They didnt quite hit the nail with the balance of savory and sweetness of their drinks for me. I felt it leaned heavily on the sweetness side and almost masked the flavors of the alcohol a little too much. I had their much lauded Japanese cold noodles (JCN) and the Red eye gravy (ReG). They both ran sweeter than expected. I enjoyed them, but wouldve loved more savory punch from the sesame and pineapple in the JCN and more roundness and body from the ReG. I would come back again to try their other selections, but maybe after the hype dies down. For me, theyre very good, but the current crowds and tendency for sweeter drinks (that Ive tried), make it harder for me to fully enjoy the experience. -

Just as good a chicken sandwich as the hype made it to be!The cocktail list is quite impressive. A little too far out for me in certain mixes of flavors, but they always have the classics as well.Staff is really nice and the space is fun and cozy. -

Drinks are great and food is good too! With no reservation you add yourself to the list and still grab a drink in the front. For the summer they have tables outside in the front. -

Had a reservation for the Back Room. Absolutely amazing cocktails and chicken! Had a seat at the bar and watching them make drinks and learning more about the drinks was great. The drinks were perfectly executed and reflected the menu with high precision. Service was attentive and the friendly. Will definitely revisit! -

Everything is perfect. I want to try every single item on the menu! So creative and tasty! Wait for the back room, the long wait time is worth it -

Despite the hype surrounding their drinks, my experience didnt quite match the expectations. While I cant speak for the main area, the ambiance where I sat didnt wow me. However, I did enjoy their tasty tofu sandwich, but the tap drink selection felt somewhat lazy. The service was average, neither too slow nor overly prompt. Overall, it was a decent visit, but Im not fully convinced it lives up to the massive hype. I might give it another shot in the future to explore more of what they offer. -

It’s #6 bar in the world, and it’s obvious. Well balanced drinks. Luxurious food. Waiting for the back room “coop” is always worth it. Best refreshing cocktail is the “Waldorf salad”. When in doubt, just order the “Japanese cold noodle”. -

Quite the mission to book a reservation for their back room but an awesome experience nonetheless. We were visiting NYC for the weekend and can only book 6 days in advance at midnight. We were successful on our second try.Our arrival was off to a rocky start as we got off the wrong stop. We were on airplane mode and didn’t want to lose our spot so I had to turn on service and called in. We were instructed to call in (in case we were running late) but both calls went to voicemail. We got there and our table was given to a walk-in party. Thankfully they made things work and seated us in. We waited an additional 15 minutes for our booth. The reviews on the popcorn chicken did not lie. The drinks are phenomenal. It taste exactly like their name. I got to try the mango sticky rice, Japanese cold noodle and key lime pie. The hot honey chicken sandwich was great. I might’ve waited too long to enjoy the salted egg yolk chicken sandwich but found the flavour underwhelming.Have your Resy account ready with a credit card. These slots go fast but it’s worth it. -

The cocktails are unique and well thought out. Truly some of the best I’ve ever had.The chicken sandwich was just alright - nothing amazing and definitely paled in comparison to their drinks. If you are walking in, I highly recommend lining up 20-30 minutes before they open to guarantee a seat. Also, the back room > front room. -

It can oftentimes be very difficult to get a spot at DCP, but it is absolutely worth the effort. The chicken sandwiches and the cocktail concoctions are the key highlights. I had the Salted Egg Yolk Chicken Sandwich and the flavors were well-balanced with just a slight kick, contrasting with the crunchy but juicy fried chicken. DCP is famous for their cocktails and rightly so; would highly recommend being adventurous and giving their wildest options a try. Ambiance was very interesting, with the front feeling like a sports bar and the back room giving off plush, vintage speakeasy vibes. All around a great experience! -

Loved the French Toast and Key Lime Pie Cocktails. I know the pizza gets the most reviews but it just tasted like tomatos. Maybe we just had a bad batch so we will have to come back. The chicken Bolognese sandwich was incredible -

Drinks and ambience are great, especially the back room which has an exclusive menu, and it’s SO GOOD! Love the Key Lime Pie drink, carries the pastry and egg flavouring through the drink so well - if you like innovative drinks, this is a must! -

The atmosphere at this establishment is great—minimalistic and chic. It reminds me of Atlas Kitchen in Morningside Heights, a Michelin star Asian restaurant.Drinks were great (I tried the sazerac and the french toast) and fairly priced for the quality. The only bummer was that the kitchen was closed when we arrived! I personally think, given the name of the place and its emphasis on chicken, the kitchen should close when the bar closes as well. -

Stellar Friday afternoon experience. Got in line at 4:30 and promptly seated at 5pm, for two people. Best cocktails were the Waldorf Salad and Key Lime Pie - the Red Eye Gravy and Cold Pizza weren’t bad but didn’t have the same impact.Chicken liver mousse, popcorn chicken, and our two chicken sandwiches were sublime - crunchy, well spiced chicken and the coffee butter on top of the mousse was killer. All worth reordering. We did have a bit of trouble flagging down a server and knowing who our primary server was, but once we did everything was prompt and attentive. That can happen when you seat the entire space as soon as the doors open though! Great experience overall! -

Best cocktail bar in New York! All the drinks are inspired from dishes like cold pizza and mango sticky rice. And they did taste like those lol. Especially the cold pizza, literally cold margarita pizza in liquid form. Also recommend the mango sticky rice - lots of layers of flavors. The fried chicken sandwich was insanely good too!Make sure to book the back room in advance for a quieter and more comfortable booth experience -

Best of best chicken sandwich in the city. I know we’ve heard a lot of ‘best chicken sandwich’ but the HOT HONEY is the BEST chicken sandwich ever. Had never truly agreed one to be the best chicken sandwich before this. Ordered salted duck but hot honey was the best. Perfect bun and it’s very unusual to find such great bread in a chicken sandwich anywhere else. Also if pick up the sweet potato chips just comes as a small bag of chips which doesn’t feel like worth it really. But will always come back for the HOT HONEY. -
Review 68 (2023-08-06 - Rating: 5)
Amazing drinks even the one had in the front, but the back room they were really stunning. The beet salad started with was an impeccable appetizer moc in drink form. The cold soba noodle drink was unsure of got recommended to try and was maybe my favorite of them all, the umami savory drink had me swooning over. If it were not for the wonderful drinks tho I would have docked at least a star or more as the chicken sandwich, which I thought was part named for, was kind of terrible. Order was misplaced at first cause took forever to come out after other around and they it seemed like thin pieces layered mostly breading. I kept thinking maybe they gave me a vegetarian one or something tho tasted alright didnt say anything, cause it was really pretty dark back there and couldnt tell just turned to finishing another drink and the spicy cucumbers that were killer too after half or less instead of complaining... -

Worthy of its name as one of the best cocktail experiences globally. The Halloween seasonal cocktail I enjoyed featuring curry powder was exceptional. The mixologists really knew their stuff, chatty and shared their knowledge. The sit down bar was good for socialising and the door man was cool, remembering me on my second visit. Food is enjoyable too. -

One of the most interesting dining experiences in the city.I came in knowing the drinks were good because theres a world champion mixologist working behind the bar. Even then my expectations were blown out of the water.Truth is I dont drink (cant drink), but I love food. The only exceptions I make for alcohol are champagne at weddings and wine pairings. Imagine my dilemma when I found out the drinks here were food inspired. The Red Eye Gravy had Prosciutto and it was fantastic! On to the actual food. This place set a new standard for bar food. Ive had food from Michelin Star restaurants that do not live up to these creations. The stuffed chicken wings are a must. The layers of flavors will surprise you. -

The back room is very cozy and a great spot to hang out for a couple hours. Drinks all tasted exactly like their food dish names which was super unique. Got the tofu sandwich as well which was delicious. However, considering they are listed as one of the best bars in the world I was a bit underwhelmed. -
Review 75 (2022-05-16 - Rating: 4)
Chicken burger worth trying; I had the salted egg yolk one. Note that their front room doesnt offer made to order cocktails, and their back room doesnt offer the chicken burger till 10pm. However, we went when they opened and was able to get the burger, then scored a seat in the backroom before it was filled with the prime dinner crowd. Their made to order cocktails were unique and worth trying. Would pass on the draft cocktails, which were a little diluted in taste. -

Went at 6pm on a Thursday and there was already a 4-5h wait for the back room. Appparently you have to start lining up at 4pm to get in on a walk-inBut the front had no wait - even for a big group (7ppl). The hot & honey chicken sandwich was AMAZING! Popcorn chicken with the egg yolk sauce was also great. Wasn’t a big fan of the cocktail selection offered for the front room - had #7. The cool part was that they all were poured from taps.Definitely need to come back for the back room experience next time! -

From the moment I perused the menu, I was intrigued by the inventive combinations that promised to deliver a sensory experience like no other. Each drink was carefully crafted with attention to detail, incorporating elements that evoked the essence of different dishes. The mixologists expertly balanced flavors, creating a harmonious blend that paid homage to the food flavors they were inspired by. The presentation of the drinks was also noteworthy, with garnishes and glassware that added to the overall visual appeal, enhancing the experience even further. The atmosphere at Double Chicken Please was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to enjoy these unique libations. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, readily providing recommendations and insights into the cocktail creations. -

Had some amazing food and just as amazing cocktails at this new to nyc restaurant/bar. Do yourself a favor and get the chips and salted duck egg yolk sauce. That is really unique and it has amazing flavor and creaminess. Huey and the staff were knowledgeable and very friendly. I would highly recommend this place. Definitely get here before it gets difficult to find a reservation because thats how it will be shortly. -
Review 80 (2022-09-13 - Rating: 5)
Hard to get a reservation here, but we put ourselves on the notify list and managed to grab one at 5pm on a Sunday in the backroom. The backroom is cooler than the front room lol. They are honestly pretty much the same, but they are divided by a tinted door/wall, and so that make the front room more public (there could be people standing around etc). The backroom is nice and moody lighting, the bartenders are really fancy, and the drinks are excellent. There are two mocktail versions.I recommend you come here with some friends and try as many drinks as you can to find what you like. The chicken is also pretty good - popcorn chicken and the hot honey and the shrimp chicken sandwich. The chicken liver mousse is pretty thick but yummy and in good quantity. Service here was really good, and vibes were also amazing.Thank you DCP! -

The waiting area tape cocktails are kinda sad but once you get in the coup, the cocktails are great. It’s probably worth the wait to get to the coup and have the drinks in there. We had to wait in line outside for 45 mins and then in the waiting area for 2hrs. The popcorn chicken is really good and so is the tofu sandwich. -

Double Chicken Please is famous. It’s famous because they make cocktails that miraculously taste like food. These bartenders put some serious R and D in these drinks. So the “Cold Pizza”Drink tastes exactly like cold pizza. The “Japanese Noodle” drink tastes exactly like jaoanese noodles, etc.. They are delicious and surprising. The waiter was patient and had a great vibe. And even the chicken is good. -

Innovative craft cocktails and gourmet bistro bar food in warm, wood-filled interiors. All of their cocktails taste like their names, with well balanced, subtle, sometime unexpected notes. Ranked number 14 on the 2024 50 best bars list, DCP is the originator of the savory, meal-inspired cocktail trend. Get there early, give your phone number and go do something. Then, you’ll be hosted in a beautiful, Japan-inspired wooden room where chicken themed items and illustrations are faintly lit. The menu lists the famous cold pizza but also a Thai curry drink or a soba noodle, or a dried ham slice and bourbon. It’s an innovative menu but is innovation and hype a recipe for good cocktails? Well, it depends on your taste, and what you expect. Personally, I wasn’t blown away but the attention to detail is here. The snacks are great and you’ll get the best chicken sandwich you’ve had in a while, juicy and full of flavor. Bonus point for the recording of a coop playing in the restroom! -

Glad we were able to check out DCP before NYC shut down indoor dining again:/ Cocktail on tap is a very interesting concept. We tried #5 and #9. They have very polarized profiles. Whiskey, patron orange mixed with oolong tea and honey was very citrus and refreshing. Run, elderflower liquor, sherry with banana and walnut is sweeter, nutty and spiced up. I would personally vote for #9 over #5. Sweet potato chips with five spice and plum power - what a creative recipe! Don’t forget to go with the salty duck egg yolk sauce;) which also come in one of the chicken sandwiches. The brioche was very soft and the fried chicken was super tender and flavorful. But I would say tofu sandwich is a must try. The tofu was marinated very well and leveled up with peanut butter. Glad these sandwiches are not huge, we still have space for Le Big Mac! It’s a Superman style macaroon, partnership with fouet patisserie. I don’t want to spoil you the layers in that Mac! But the meal can’t be completed without it at DCP:) -

I will come back for the drinks another time, hopefully get this to a five star rating but this review is solely for the chicken sandwich. I got the hot honey and the juiciness of the chicken was on point, literally not a dry spot on the chicken. The sauce itself was a bit interesting, it had very subtle honey but it was very green and the flavor of it definitely gave off a herbaceous but a bit of a bitter aftertaste. All in all, solid chicken sando but a little bit too much sauce that left a small bitter aftertaste was my final memory of the food -

Walked in on a Tuesday night as a party of 2 without a reservation, and we waited maybe 40 minutes in the front room while we ordered food to eat. No line outside the door, idk if it would be worth waiting in the cold for.We tried the French toast drink and mango sticky rice. Both were really good. Also tried the hot honey basil chicken sandwich. It was good too, kind of on the sweet side with no kick though. Also I saw this in another review so I can confirm they don’t warm their buns…kind of odd getting a hot chicken sandwich with a cold bun.I was confused by the front room/back room business model so I’ll try to make it clear:Back room: takes reservations and usually has a wait for walk-ins. Craft cocktails and lounge-like interior. Minimum 1 drink per person order. Also serves chicken sandwiches and other food.Front room: walk-in only. Kind of just the “waiting room” for the back room, since it only has cocktails on tap, and it has the same food menu as the back room. If the front room gets too busy then you have to wait in line outside. If you order in the front room, you can bring any unfinished food to the back room when you get off the waitlist for it. -

They texted us back and we were sure to be there! Now the cocktails are quite exquisite. Key lime pie is unreal among many others. The chicken sandwich and pate was also unreal. #2 in the world? Unique, delicious chicken sandwiches that are worth the 50 minute wait (it’s better to get a reservation). The chicken sandwiches had an interesting five spice blend, and the chicken was abundant, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The bun was a nice base for the chicken, refreshing from the typical buns used in fast food chicken sandwiches. The popcorn chicken was good, pairing well with the Thai basil aioli - an interesting combination of herby and creamy. We sat in the front room which had taptails (no cocktails) and they were okay - but cost more than the sandwich and I would rather get the cocktails in the back room next time.Overall an excellent chicken sandwich experience, can’t wait to go to the back room next time! -

Something to note the front and back room have different menus at different times. We made a reservation in the back room not realizing they only serve chicken sandwiches there on the late night menu after 10pm. Regardless, we were not disappointed with the food. Between the oysters, mushrooms, prawn ceviche, tar tar, and hanger steak I cannot even tell you my favorite. They were all so incredibly unique and flavorful. The mushrooms were something straight out of chefs table, someone put all their love and personality into that dish. The attention to detail here is nothing short of incredible. There are chicken soundscape noises in the bathroom and the decor is LES chic. Amazing place for a date. As for the cocktails and their inventive names? 10/10 for mago sticky rice Ive never tasted anything like it and the combination of flavors worked SUPER well. I cant wait to come back here. -

Unique! The taste does not over power the palette, however i would like to taste the liquor just a lil bit more. The tables are too close to each other. -

What a great experience! Really enjoyed our time at DCO. The front has a fun and creative drinks menu based on cartoon characters, really good. Moved back to the Coop which has a great vibe and atmosphere. We tried the cold pizza and cold Japanese noodles, not sure how they did it but yeah, cold pizza and cold Japanese noodles, outstanding! Got the popcorn chicken, great sharing portion, and why haven’t I thought up bolognese grilled cheese, wow that was good. Highly recommended! -

Drinks were outstanding, super complex and innovative ways that they mimic flavours. Key lime pie and mango sticky rice are not to be missed, everything else we tried was pretty good but these two were the standouts. Love the vibe, come early ~15 mins before opening on a weeknight and should be able to still get a first seating at the back room. -

Inside are 2 different bars Free Range and the Coop, both are amazing, have great drinks and the food is just delicious.Unfortunately I dont know if something happened but it took a lot of time to have a great service!! We were forgotten for a while. The best is to make reservations to avoid wait a lot for a table -

We visited Double Chicken Please last night at 8:30pm and had an amazing experience. Despite the busy evening, we were warmly greeted and seated quickly. The staff was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and kind. The bartender immediately poured us water, and after our drinks arrived, we were escorted to a hightop with stools. Our water was always filled, and they even showed us hooks for our bags. On our way out, they remembered it was our friend’s birthday and wished her well. Exceptional service—haven’t experienced this level of care in ages. Bravo to the Double Chicken team! -

Highly recommend, you can go to the front room (they have changed the on tap bar to what I think will be rotating pop ups now) but if you can’t get into the back you can ask to be seated in the front and then put on the list for the coop (back room). Some of the best drinks and all of the chicken is A++. Also went here once in the winter and they gave out warm tea to those waiting outside… so thoughtful 🩵 -

Long line worth it. Split into two rooms, similar menus. Very good atmosphere. Unique cocktails that taste like food (pizza, salad, key lime pie) but some on smaller side. Chicken amazingly flavorful; recommend chicken sandwiches and popcorn chicken, both good portions. Popcorn chicken sauces are $4 so a ripoff. -

Loved this place! I personally think the chicken sandwiches were better than the drinks we had. Don’t get me wrong, drinks were amazing, but the chicken sandwich was even better. Out of the four drinks I got, I would say the key lime pie was the best. Cold pizza was unique so I still recommend but it’s not the BEST we had. Would absolutely come back because of the damn chicken!! Still thinking about it! -
Review 126 (2023-12-30 - Rating: 4)
I’ve walked into this place not knowing it’s the 2nd best bar in the world. I was just looking for a fried chicken sandwich. Though, I have to say, the name is creative for both a chicken sandwich shop and a bar. The ambience inside can be described as “cool ny bar with some kinks, offering certain kind of unique vibes that your tiny brain might not be able to comprehend”. Anyway, there was a line at 10:30pm (and raining), but it was a quick wait and the door guy was pretty chill and friendly.I ordered the mocktail and the fried chicken sandwich (obviously). The mocktail was pretty interesting. It said “winter melon, oolong, citrus”. I am 100% sure that these are not the only ingredients because otherwise it would be incredible to get this flavor out of this weird combination (or maybe the description is intended to be vague and mysterious). It did taste good though. However, the hit honey chicken sandwich did not deliver. It looked great, but it was mediocre at best. I say this because, as you can see from the pic, the amount of chicken inside was disappointing. Too much batter and very little actual chicken. The honey made it really sweet too. I couldn’t tell what the green sauce was because of the sweetness. It was not spicy to my taste. The bun was fine. I just expected much more given that some people said that this was one of New York’s best fried chicken sandwiches. Even more when I knew that it was the second best bar in the world. Perhaps the chicken pop corn was a better option.Something else that I noticed was that the bartender was not as professional as I would expect from a bar of this caliber. Nothing in particular, but she was a bit slow and confused. If this was a normal bar, I would have disregarded this, but I feel sorry for those who were coming here for a drink after waiting in the rain for a while.(By the way, slightly off topic, but I am slowly losing trust in the “best50” ranking because every single time I walk into a highly ranked restaurant from this list, it would be very good at looks/vibes/experience, but not necessarily food.) -

Great food and cocktails in a beautiful dimly-lit space. The chicken sandwiches are inspired by the famous Taiwanese night markets. You should definitely try both! The owners are super nice and have created a very welcoming and intimate food and drink experience. -

By far the best cocktail bar in NYC! Theres no wonder it made the forbes list for best bars in the world. Its definitely worth aiming to get a reservation in the back the coop for that true speak easy feel and specialized drink menuThe chicken sandwiches and popcorn chicken were delicious! The service was great and all the details in the decor were beautiful! Our favorite drinks were the key lime pie and Raison Bun! Definitely coming back! -

This vibe feels straight out of Westworld, or like where fintech comes to unwind after playing The Most Dangerous Game. The drinks are jaw-droppingly excellent and very novel, probably among the most innovative booze experiences Ive ever had. The chicken sandwich is good but not as good as the drinks. The service is very professional but it also feels tailored to clients who dont want to talk to the people who make their drinks, which adds to the dystopian vibe. -

Had an opportunity to try Double Chicken Please, which is ranked number 2 in the Worlds 50 Best Bars. We had a reservation for the back room, which, strangely, has a different menu from the front room.I tried the Japanese Cold Noodle and the Mango Sticky Rice cocktails. The Japanese Cold Noodle drink was very refreshing and not overpowering. But the Mango Sticky Rice drink tasted too much of alcohol for my liking. I also tried other peoples Key Lime Pie and Cold Pizza cocktails. The Key Lime Pie cocktail was really sweet and did not taste like there was alcohol in it. The Cold Pizza drink tasted EXACTLY like a cold pizza. It was pretty surreal. As the name of the bar suggests, they also serve chicken. They have chicken sandwiches and popcorn chicken. I ordered the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, which was super juicy. Not dry at all. It has buttermilk and thai basil in it. Phenomenal.I had also tried a bit of the Popcorn Chicken, which someone else had ordered. It was a little lackluster. Not terrible by any means, but not spectacular. It sounds like I had a bit of a mixed experience at Double Chicken Please. Some things I really liked, while others did not impress me. But the things I did like were superb. I definitely want to visit them again and try some of the other items on the menu—that is, if I can get a reservation. -

Excellent fried chicken sandwiches. Get both the hot and salted egg.The hot chicken was juicy and flavorful but the pretzel bun felt stale. Someone else in my party also ordered this and his bun was fine so maybe a fluke. The salted egg has almost a fish sandwich flavor but in a good way.Popcorn chicken is also high quality and good. Its taiwanese style/tasteWould definitely go back for more -

Salted egg chicken sandwich didnt have enough salted egg flavor. The sauce tasted like salted egg on its own but its hard to tell when combining everything. The bitter melon mocktail was good, but isnt anything special. Pretty much just paying for the ambiance, which is really cool. -

Unique idea for a bar I have never seen but I guess is popular in Taiwan. All premixed drinks in a tap handle system. Drinks were creative and done well. ABVs were inconsistent with their started levels. Just as interesting food/snack options as well. Well done little bar. -

Went there on a Saturday night but unfortunately the back part was closed. We had a couple of cocktails with my wife and unfortunately, I wasnt surprised by them. Please note that the bar is known more for the cocktails offered on the back part.Atmosphere is way more relaxed and informal in comparison to the other top bars in NYC which is also reflected on the prices. Will come back though when the whole place is open to have a more well-rounded review. -

Amazing chicken sandwiches! Tried both sandwiches on the menu—definitely a fan of #2. The pretzel bun is the perfect vessel for the crispy yet juicy chicken. Soft enough to bite through but sturdy enough to hold it all together. One amazing bite after the other...would definitely come back! The service was also stellar, the staff were so friendly and willing to help out. The interior design of the restaurant was so sleek and minimalist. Highly suggest checking this place out if youre in the area! -

Trendy atmosphere, delicious sandwiches and well-crafted drinks - what more can you ask for! I came here to catch up with a friend and it was the perfect spot for a more intimate setting, yet fun and inviting. We couldn’t decide on which sandwiches to get (they all looked so good) so we got 3 - the chicken, duck and mushroom sandwich ($12-14). I thought all of them were very unique and the combination of flavors was spot on. The drinks ($12-13) are also quirky and fun, I got the #9 and recommend if you prefer a fruitier taste.I suggest making a reservation a week in advance at least as it can fill up quickly and there is always a wait when I walk by. Can’t wait to stop by again! -

The only real challenge with Double Chicken Please is securing a table at this exceptional cocktail bar and restaurant. Fortunately, we managed to be seated in the back room, which I suspect offers an expanded menu. Our group of three indulged in a range of drinks, including the Waldorf Salad, Red Eye Gravy, NY Beet Salad, and Key Lime Pie. Each drink was brilliant, and the cocktails tasted exactly as their names promised, especially the Key Lime Pie.If you purchase the chicken burger (which you would be silly not to do) Please do not eat before you come. It is the largest chicken burger I think I have ever eaten and it was brilliant. This place lives up to its reputation and is perfect for impressing a visitor to New York. -

Review 148 (2022-01-31 - Rating: 5)
Exceptional cocktails, novel recipes, and well designed space make DCP a must-go. The back room is more of a fine-dining experience centered around a fancy bar. The dirty martini was the coldest and most refreshing martini I’ve ever had. They only had one vegetarian item on the menu (a really nice mushroom croquette dish) but our server checked with the chef who made an umami-missile of a hen of the woods mushroom dish. The front room is focused around sandwiches and draft cocktails. Try the bolognese sandwich served in a sesame bun. -

Double Chicken Please is a must-go! From the drinks to the food, we were absolutely blown away, and would love to come back. Price wise, we definitely spent more than we would normally do at a bar, but it was definitely worth it.For food, we got the Hot Honey, Bolognese Grilled Cheese and Mochi Donut. Not much needs to be said except that they were extremely excellent. Fair warning though - the mochi donut is surprisingly spicy! For drinks, we shared the Japanese Cold Noodle, Cold Pizza, French Toast, Key Lime Pie x2 and Moscow Mule (a bit much for 3 people but we had to make the trip worth it)! Of the drinks, we really liked the Key Lime Pie, French Toast and Japanese Cold Noodle the best. Key Lime Pie is Double Chicken Pleases star drink. We really liked it even in spite of not liking the actual dessert. Finally, we got both the desserts (haha) and they were both really good. Im always a fan of hojicha so that was something I really enjoyed! -

This place:Kids who love Instagram 🤝 adults who love good cocktailsFront room:Casual vibe with drinks on tap. The drinks are not bad but definitely overpriced especially considering theyre on tap.Back room:Much nicer ambience, more of a cozy sophisticated vibe. The cocktails are amazing and thats why it takes 2-4 hours to get in. Each cocktail is its own unique experience and they absolutely nail the flavor of the dishes that the cocktails are inspired by. The noodles and custard cream were my favorites of the 4 that we tried. The food is the same in both rooms and the chicken sandwich is definitely top tier. Maybe they are opposed to serving anything other than chicken but a side of some kind would put it over the top. Who can eat a sandwich without some chips or fries? -

This sandwich was so good that my second bite turned into sauce “all over my face and in my hair” bite. Although I was not that comfortable sitting I side, we grabbed a spot by the window and waited for our sandwiches and cocktails to arrive, which was about 10mins after ordering. The cocktails are so good you’ll want to order a second one right after you have your first sip. The Salted Duck Yolk sandwich was good - I wasn’t very excited by the strong shrimp flavour. The Hot Honey Chicken sandwich is one I could eat all day. I’m already dreaming of my next sandwich. -

We got on the waitlist for a spot in the back room and were seated after about two hours. I highly recommend the savory drinks—both the Cold Pizza and Japanese Cold Noodle evoke their namesakes, and the flavors blend surprisingly well. For the sweet drinks, I initially enjoyed the French Toast, but it became overly sweet after a few sips. Those with a sweet tooth might enjoy it more. The salted egg yolk chicken sandwich is also delicious, with excellent texture and flavor. -

In a city like NYC where there is no dearth of great bars , its always hard to pick a few to visit especially if you only have a couple days in the city. DCP obviously was a no brainer - its touted as one of the best bars in the world currently and offers a menu filled nearly entirely with Taiwanese-inspired fried chicken dishes . To add to that its currently one of the hardest places to get a reservation in New York . Naturally , we wanted to go but werent able to find reservations at all ,so we decided to try our luck with walk-ins .We arrived before they open at 5 and thanks to the bad weather not a lot of others were ahead of us in the line . The line however kept growing longer by the minute. Once they opened up ,we were ushered in and seated in the Back room. The back room, also called the Coop, has a very lounge like vibe. The space is dimly lit and offers low seating around small wooden circular tables and some bar seating. There is also a front room with some seating but that area is for drinks only. The space is beautiful and designed so that even when sitting near others, you still felt like you had a bit of privacy .We were excited and started of with the Red eye Gravy and the Dirty Margarita . The cocktails dont taste very strong at first, but theyll definitely sneak up on you and put you in the right mood .We then proceeded to order the Japanese cold Noodle and The Waldorf salad . We also got the popcorn chicken but not much else since we had dinner plans later. The drinks are creative and Innovative . I especially loved the Japanese cold noodle which had a distinct sesame taste to it . Much of the cold noodle aspect is derived from the sesame, but its not overpowering. Otherwise, it was a fruitier drink .The red eye gravy comes with a coppa . The intent with the salty coppa is to take a bite before you sip, to balance out the sweetness with some salt. Delicious and strong .Overall, everything from the ambiance, to presentation, to concept, to taste was very well executed. I would recommend to try them at least once for the creative craft cocktails despite the long lines and hard to get reservations. -

Came here with my brother and we were able to get in as walk-ins on a Thursday night at 5:20 pm. For drinks we ordered a cold pizza and mango sticky rice (didn’t manage to snap a pic of that). We ordered two chicken sandwiches - the mochi donut and the hot honey. Food was quite delicious and the mochi donut sandwich according to my brother was one of the best chicken sandwiches he’s ever had. The chewiness of the mochi donut and acidity from the pickled pineapple made it quite unique. The cold pizza cocktail was also very notable with the tomato and Parmesan flavors, and so smooth that you almost couldn’t tell it had alcohol in there. Wait staff were great and attentive, our waters never got below half full. The atmosphere was also great, glamorous decor with nice lighting. Highly recommend for if you like tasting craft cocktails! -

The Key Lime Pie cocktail was definitely the highlight of the night—perfectly balanced, though a bit on the sweeter side, so you might not finish the whole drink. The cold soba noodle cocktail was also very well done; if you enjoy savory drinks, it’s a must-try. Unfortunately, the cold pizza cocktail was a letdown, with a taste reminding me of Chinese medicine. It was disappointing, especially after the first two excellent cocktails. We also had to wait for 3 hours, which, in my opinion, isn’t worth it unless you live nearby. However, the service was exceptional, especially Jason, who is an excellent mixologist. I’d consider coming back, but the menu does have its highs and lows.
