    Super dive bar ! They have different happy hour every day, for example on Saturday all the bottles and cans are $5. There are some TVs to watch a football game and there is plenty of space to enjoy a beer with your friends. I would definitely recommend if you are in the area !

    Always a great place to enjoy some delicious wings and a beer!I always take a trip back in time when visiting since my husband found this place as a USMA Cadet (20 years ago!) on weekend leave and we stop by every time we are in the city. This time we brought our kids back!!We sat on the patio and enjoyed our time together, even though I wasn’t able to eat indoors. Thankful that option is offered!

    The food was so good, the sweet Thai chili sauce on the boneless chicken was bomb!Im a fried pickles gal & these were tasty & even though my drink, casamiga sunrise was missing the orange juice. Who will really say no to a full glass of tequila with a splash a grenadine? lol 😆 did add lime for a much needed citrus note, but for half price, I enjoyed my tequila 😜 They even gave free sauces for the left-overs!will definitely come back. Its such a fun vibe!

    Really nice local spot to chill and enjoy yourself. Great music. Youll definitely meet a lot of people. Its very friendly. I cant forget about Sam the bartender. Shes awesome!! So if you get her as your bartender make sure you tip her well. 😀

    Amazing brunch place for a great deal. Have had the best Saturdays and Sundays watching football at this place. Lucas, Mari and Kirk are amazing and friendly bartenders with great service. I’ve had my best Saturdays in NYC drinking at this place and watching football.

    This bar is great for any afterparty you may have plans for. Although pretty small and secluded, those traits are good enough for a midnight experience you will never forget. They have beer pong which was loads of fun, providing if you are sober enough to win the game. Anyway, the bar staff are super cool and the food is excellent. There are nearby train stations for those who need a quick ride home and if I were to have the time, I will return to this place to allow its aroma to envelop me again.

    This is a great place to get bar food and drinks at a great price for its location. Service wasnt bad, food was alright, drink prices were great. For 3 meals and 2 pitchers of beer it cost $65 total. Great little spot with good prices, definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the area. I cant wait to stop by again when I visit New York.

    Great place for drinks and quick bites but most of all just some really cool people working there. Specifically, David who I believe is one of the security detail. This guy does a hell of a job making sure everyone feels safe and is having a good time since it can get a bit rowdy on weekends. Me and the Wife have become regulars since our first visit.

    I come here with friends often. The drinks are great and they have a good variety of music for everyone. I recommend the garlic parm wings. Sooooo good. And ask the bartender for this alcoholic green tea drink which is also delicious.

    Our bartender was very friendly and helpful. We came on Monday not knowing that the bar is completely half off until 7 pm! The value of the drinks in this case was super good and we will definitely be back. Drinks were strong and delicious. Also there were games free to play; we enjoyed some rounds of Uno and Guess Who. This is a great spot!

    Randomly stumbled upon Down the Hatch and so glad we did. Love the dive aesthetic, particularly when it’s done right. This place is so clean and welcoming. Great music, lots of sports on, happy hour every day until 7. They must have the cheapest drinks in Manhattan. Staff was friendly - hey, Lucas! - patrons were friendly, beers were cold and fried pickles were awesome. Wish we lived closer so we could be regulars.

    This is an unexpected treasure of NYC. Our son took us to Down the Hatch for Saturday Football and it was such a treat. From the time we entered we had excellent service, ice cold beverages, tasty food and a fun atmosphere with different sports on every TV. If you are visiting the NYC it would be a bar that you would want to put on your must visit list.

    I’ve been to many bars, but this one makes me feel welcome. For a time, I was taking a training course in the city and every week, my classmates and I would come here. Even though the class has been over for a year, we still meet up and come here. Good drinks, good vibes, good memories... the music here is awesome, the staff is very friendly.I remember once my friends and I came here and there was actually a party in the back that they closed early for. We’d just gotten there 30 minutes beforehand, but they didn’t make us feel rushed and gave us a bunch of other places to go. I really love this place. Never have had an issue here and the food here is good, too!

    Typical NYU area bar and one in a chain of such bars. I’ve been coming since it was age appropriate for me (mid 20s.). The place is loud with cheap beer deals and Atomic Wings. We used to go Saturday for endless wings and beer for like $25. Now I drink Goose IPA... they have about 19 taps so pretty good selection. The bartender Katie there was the best ever. Pretty fun place in a good location for a bar crawl!

    This bar is perfect for letting loose and having some college fun. The crowd is very laid back and their selection of beers is excellent. They have beer pong nights usually on the weekends and those are very fun. Drinks are set at an acceptable range. Highly recommended for college students and anyone looking to have a good time. :)

    Happy hour is one of the best 11:30-8. Place is a typical basement bar, barebones, but with a cool vibe. Drinks are very cheap, wings are excellent, and the rest of the menu is pretty decent (but dont expect the food to be good restaurant quality.. Its bar food). The fries are very good. Theres beer pong, and the place really fills up on weekends. Music is pretty basic.. dont think this is a place to dance.

    Always a good time to be had at down the hatch. Located in the village close to NYU. Cheap drinks and blaring 80s music make a winning mix. Try the hot wings for a great snack. Happy hour until 8 pm, watch the phenomenon as a bar packed with NYU students at 7:59 pm clears out by 8:01 pm as happy hour ends! Theres a great bartender that sings along to the music playing over the speakers, I dont know his name, but hes one of the coolest guys Ive ever met. Definitely worth the stop.

    If youre in the area and just want an inexpensive place to hang out and have some drinks with your buddies, this is a great place to do so, and to enjoy some tater tots or wings. Theres always a good drink special happening, and the bar food, while very solidly bar food, is usually pretty tasty after a pitcher or two. Bartenders are always friendly and nice. Once, I left a tote behind, and they found it and held it for me to pickup the next day, which is always appreciated.

    A fun local spot and a hidden treasure. If you’re looking to down a few beers while watching sports and eating chicken wings and fries, onion rings, or tots, this is your place.The bartenders and support staff are friendly and the vibe is good. There aren’t many places in NYC that have managed to retain their sense of uniqueness in the age of chain stores and hipster pop-up spots, but DtH helps me imagine what the city was like thirty years ago.I hope they never close.

    Great spot to hang out with friends. Wings are pretty pricey though and I did notice that theyre cutting corners with the beer mugs. Dont believe me......order a beer from tap and place your finger under the mug. Watch how far it goes in. However, I do understand that businesses find ways to profit. Look.......its a nice spot and a great atmosphere. That being said.....I still reccomend it it. I just hope they do not get any more greedy by cutting even more corners for profit. I wouldve bought more drinks and tipped more had it not been for the very pricey wings and the trick beer mugs.

    Been going here for years now for Wings and other munchies. Good beer selection. If you live further north they have sister locations as well. I usually try to go when its slower like late afternoon during the week but weekend nights are great too if you are doing a nite on the town.

    Ear drum blasting, shoulder to shoulder, free flowing alcohol service with a smile... If you can make anything out in the dimly lit bar. Great wings for both the sober and the inebriated. Steer clear of dancers throwing caution to the wind.

    Pretty fun college bar with low ceilings, beer pong and tasty wings. The basement bar will not surprize you with sober crowd as sober crowd doesnt go there. But if you want cheep drinks, this is the place to stop by for a drink or two. People there get drunk very fast so be mindful of that when walking in after work at 7pm and thinking the night is just beginning..

    Ive literally never had a bad time at Down The Hatch. This is the spot where all my friends and I would celebrate our respective 21st birthdays and out of all the other bars in the area associated with this place like Off The Wagon or 3 Sheets Saloon, Down the Hatch is easily the best out of all of them. Was super excited to see them still open after the pandemic and even more excited for the return of the beer pong and foosball tables. Heres to ya!

    Great bar tucked away down a small staircase. They have a great selection of beers on tap and run daily drinks specials. They offer a selection of food and also run some offers on that too. The bar has a great vibe and is well worth a visit if you are in the area.

    I love dive bars, and this one excells in every category: the wood-paneled walls keep things dark, the wings and cheese fries are awesome, theres beer pong and darts in the back, and drink prices are always low due to a variety of specials that rotate throughout the week. My favorite is the Saturday-Sunday $20 unlimited beer and wings special--it cant be beat! Get there early if you want to grab a table for you and your friends and watch every NFL game on the DirecTV- fed sets.

    This place epitomizes the atmosphere of a great NYC dive. Cant recommend it enough. The service is spectacular, the drinks go down easy, and its just a great place to spend a couple of hours on a lazy Saturday afternoon. Lucas was a delight, and the jello shots were the best Ive ever had.

    Cheap drinks - good vibes - decent bar food. This spot is great for after work, before dinner, or after dinner. Booths, tables, standing tables, TVs, bar, even a flip cup table! Insane all you can drink brunch specials.It is downstairs in a basement with small windows. Very good vibes - almost like a university bar.I watched a few sports games here on the TVs and Projectors. It is usually half priced beer or something crazy like that. We had 6 pints for $30..pretty wild.

    Whenever Im in Manhattan I make it a point to check this place out. They have a lot of drink specials and we got a pitcher of Stella for $11.50. 3 of us went, had 3 meals and 2 pitchers of Stella and our bill was $63. For Manhattan this is cheap. Its located in walking distance of NYU and if you are around there, Id check it out.

    My fiance and I decided to go here before dinner and didn’t expect much but god we were wrong. The sweetest bartender got us drinks and made sure we liked what we were drinking. Made the best Margarita for a great price. If you come here ask for Lucas. Deff planning to bring all our friends from Long Island to Manhattan just to try this bar.

    Simple place for simple people. Walk in, mind your head, get some drinks, mind the floor - bartenders everywhere frown upon passing out in the middle of the bar. Its not quite a dive and certainly doesnt have dive prices but its gets rowdy and is a good option for causing a work day hangover.
