Came here on a Saturday evening. Cocktails are very good. My favorite was the Mai Tai (not on the menu). Pretty chill and laid back atmosphere. The service could have been better, but I think there was only one waitress for the entirety of the upstairs.

The place is very nice and romantic. I had such a great time and drink here. It’s very cozy. I was able to enjoy my time and have a deep conversation with my bf. Also, I like how the tables are set, you don’t have to worry about your privacy. highly recommend 💖Not to forget, the service was great.

  • Review 3 (2024-02-12 - Rating: 5)

Dutch Kills is a Long Island City classic. The cocktails have always been creative and fairly priced (I had the Basquiat and the Chuparosa). I like sitting at the bar and admiring the memorabilia on the walls and ceiling. Service was a bit slow, and the bar was not even full when I was there. Nonetheless, the drinks are awesome, will definitely come again.

  • Review 4 (2024-12-27 - Rating: 5)

How nice it is when you get to a bar and after 5 minutes you feel content and familiar to the place and then simply think “ahh, what a good bar”. Happy to discover it, staff were fantastic, looking forward to coming back. One of the better ones for sure

  • Review 5 (2022-01-27 - Rating: 4)

Crowded but the cocktails are delish.Fridays are busy but my friend was able to sneak us into the back of the bar. Cool experience with vintage decor and a jukebox that plays throughout the bar. This place is known to use ice that is purposefully cut into deliberate shapes to enhance the flavors of their cocktails. That being said, the cocktails were great!Great place to visit if you’re in the LIC.

  • Review 6 (2024-12-11 - Rating: 5)

I’ve been coming here for years and it has, against all odds and the neighborhood turning into a clone of every soulless, corporate American downtown, remained as cool as it ever was. The cocktails are immaculate, the service is professional without being stuffy, and the space is effortlessly hip without chasing the trends of the last decade-plus of cocktail bars.

  • Review 7 (2023-12-04 - Rating: 5)

Loved the vibe and a cocktail I had, with a caveat that I only stayed for short amount of time. Tentative 5 star mainly to remind myself that I’d like to revisit this bar. One concern though is that this whole place seemed to have a layout of very thin and long space, which I think that makes it much more easily crowded and packed.

  • Review 8 (2022-08-22 - Rating: 4)

Nice bar in Long Island City. It’s very limited seating inside but huge options of cocktails and all other drinks. It amazing spot for drinks with your friends. There’s no food. Bartenders very friendly and attentive.

  • Review 9 (2024-11-14 - Rating: 5)

Always wonderful. Every time I go, I wonder why I dont go more often. Andrew took good care of me on a random Wednesday night.

  • Review 10 (2024-08-16 - Rating: 5)

Went here for my 21st birthday, and they celebrated my arrival!! The bartenders are kind, and one even helped me find my new favorite drink 🥰 Its definitely a cozy, vampiric vibe if youre a baby bat looking for your new go to bar.

  • Review 11 (2024-02-20 - Rating: 5)

Very cool bar with live music, great drinks. During busy hours the staff is always busy and your order/request may take longer, but they’re always friendly!

  • Review 12 (2021-11-23 - Rating: 5)

The cocktails here are awesome with reasonable price!A hidden speakeasy bar in Long Island City.I would recommend the Empire cocktail for the brandy lovers. The brandy’s fragrance is really outstanding, while the overall flavor is smooth. To be mentioned, this cocktail is rather strong, which might be the best choice for people who don’t drink a lot.A great bar here at LIC!

  • Review 13 (2024-09-16 - Rating: 4)

Many cocktail options and nice atmosphere for date night. The only thing I didn’t understand was the table seating system. We were told to get a ticket with number and the number will appear above the bar when the table is available. I saw multiple tables being open up but none of the number was light up on the board.

  • Review 14 (2019-04-14 - Rating: 5)

This may be the best cocktail bar I have visited in 10 countries. Fast cool service, amazing atmosphere. Drink menu like you cannot imagine.

  • Review 15 (2018-09-16 - Rating: 4)

The place is hidden. As soon as you enter, you get in this other world like from the old times. The dimly lit , wooden filled walls and antique lamps make it for a cosy drinking hole. Great for couples , First dates . There drink menu is really great! Have a wide variety of whiskey, Bourbon. They don’t have much food options. I remember seeing only three food options. The place is small, so if you come on a weekend, expect to stand near the bar.Drinks are fairly expensive, the avg drink being somewhere around 15$.You could give it a try if you were already drunk.

  • Review 16 (2023-07-26 - Rating: 5)

Love to stay longer. Very curious place to discover more drinks. Reasonable price. Will visit again once I am in the NYC.

  • Review 17 (2021-08-15 - Rating: 5)

Really like the vibe here. Cocktails are great as well and I’m glad they set up outdoor seating at the onset of COVID—it was always difficult to find seating particularly during the weekend so happy w/ the additional space outside. Friendly staff, but note they drop a slice of cucumber into the tab water they serve—if you don’t like them, do let them know. I’ve had the Mississippi and Pina Colada cocktails today and they were both delicious (contains a decent amount of alcohol as well, unlike some other places). Highly recommend!

  • Review 18 (2018-09-30 - Rating: 5)

Ended up here after a day of wandering through Queens and next time I’ll just make this a destination. The atmosphere is dark and moody in the best, cold-weather drinking kind of way, and the bartenders are phenomenal. Because everything looked so amazing, I asked Jose to surprise me—it was so good I asked him to do it again, and again. Three hours later, I was toasted, happy, and best friends with Jose. Yes, the drinks are pricey, but go to Dutch Kills for an unforgettable experience anyway.

  • Review 19 (2018-08-08 - Rating: 5)

I love this bar! Discrete entrance, amazing mixology. I highly recommend telling the bartender your preferences and letting them choose for you. They never disappoint!

  • Review 20 (2021-09-12 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely mind blowing experience! An intimate date spot with very well made cocktails. We tried their house made cocktails (Dueling Cavalier, Obvious Choice) as well as the classics (Negroni, Old Fashioned, Aviation, Penicillin) and they were all awesome! Service was good too, would love to be back in a heartbeat.

  • Review 21 (2024-09-21 - Rating: 5)

The cocktails here never disappoints and the place have an intimate and comfy but classy atmosphere👌🏼

  • Review 22 (2019-05-26 - Rating: 5)

Id heard Dutch Kills had the best cocktails in Queens, so my expectations were high. They were exceeded. The atmosphere is dark and intimate, so dark I had trouble reading the menu. The cocktails were a flat price of $15, and after tasting I realized this was a bargain. They paid close attention to every aspect of cocktails, including perfectly clear ice.

  • Review 23 (2021-12-29 - Rating: 5)

Excellent place to get some nice drinks and a fair price. The ambient is very good, sandwiches are also a most, would definitely recommend, specially if you want to taste good cocktails

  • Review 24 (2021-09-25 - Rating: 5)

I really wanted to check this place out while I was in Long Island and was passing by just as they opened. I went in and I was the only one sitting at the bar. I was hungry and thirsty. I told the bartender what I was looking for, Gin and cucumber, and he made me a perfect gimlet. I also ordered the hummus and crostini, which was delicious.

  • Review 25 (2024-09-06 - Rating: 4)

Gives off a speakeasy vibe without actually being one. The old fashioned is classic, strong & top notch.

  • Review 26 (2019-11-01 - Rating: 5)

This place was awesome. The drinks are amazin in omg the pork shoulder sandwich are to die for. The atmosphere was chill in laid back .i truly enjoyed myself. I cant wait to go back ..

  • Review 27 (2023-09-23 - Rating: 5)

The best spot in all of Queens for cocktails and spirits. Sun-Thur 4-6pm happy hour is a great place to start so you can work your way through each of the house favorites. If youre not into cocktails, they also have a handful of beers (Alewife is my top choice) and wine. Cheers!

  • Review 28 (2017-01-14 - Rating: 5)

This is a really cool speakeasy bar in LIC. The drinks are so good. Let the bartenders let you make speciality drinks for you besides picking from the menu. The service is great and everyone is pretty nice. Definitely will be back again.

  • Review 29 (2024-07-08 - Rating: 5)

Every cocktail I’ve had here was amazing. The host and server Trenton is also great and gave me and my partner great service.

  • Review 30 (2024-03-30 - Rating: 4)

Andres in the first floor was amazing. Brilliant bartender, 1000/10. But then, I went to the second floor :( the women bartender was killing it, but the guy on the tropical shirt, was all the time on the phone. Is he is the manager, this is just sad

  • Review 31 (2019-11-23 - Rating: 5)

Amazing bar with a great menu, super friendly service and very cool ambiance. Totally recommend venturing out to Queens to check this place out.

  • Review 32 (2022-09-16 - Rating: 5)

Great bar, feels like a speakeasy. It’s totally okay if you don’t know much about alcohol! You can just tell the bartenders what vibe you’re feeling or what flavor profiles you’ll like and they’ll whip up something incredible. It’s amazing, they know what I want better than I do. Super neat that they make their own ice, too.The seats at the bar are very comfortable. Highly recommend!

  • Review 33 (2023-08-05 - Rating: 4)

Pretty good cocktail bar in the middle of LIC! Its a cute little date spot with intimate booths and tasty cocktails. Would recommend a chill night out here. Our favourite cocktails were the cosmos and the martinis here.

  • Review 34 (2024-12-30 - Rating: 4)

Very cozy kinda old timey bar in LIC. The menus are all wooden, as are the booths. Big spirits list as well as good cocktails and some snacks

  • Review 35 (2024-01-14 - Rating: 5)

Live jazz, drinks on the expensive side. Efficient and amicable bartenders. Welcoming crowd.

  • Review 36 (2023-05-22 - Rating: 5)

Dutch Kills never disappoints. Giuseppe behind the bar is awesome. Goes above and beyond to not only prepare something great for you but also to share his knowledge. I saw many happy bargoers having a great time and thanking him for showing them a great time. Good vibe.

  • Review 37 (2023-12-31 - Rating: 5)

Craving a night of delightful cocktails, I sought out a charming speakeasy bar in NYC and discovered Dutch Kill Bar in Jackson Eve, Queens. My visit on a weekday evening proved to be a great choice, as it wasnt overly crowded. The cocktails, while not exceptional, were just right for a pleasant, tipsy experience. Opting for front seats with the bar in view was perfect for engaging conversations. Overall, Dutch Kill Bar lived up to my expectations for a cozy and enjoyable evening.

  • Review 38 (2024-08-21 - Rating: 4)

Cool bar with a speakeasy vibe and lighting. Worth a check out if youre in the area.

  • Review 39 (2017-11-05 - Rating: 4)

Sexy, saloon type of place. Dark ambiance, great drinks. The con: long wait for a table so I cant comment on the food.

  • Review 40 (2023-03-05 - Rating: 5)

This place have some great cocktails. They also have any of your go to drinks. But I recommend trying theirs first. Not much options for small plates. Very intimate and cosy atmosphere. Great place for a date or even for after work drinks. I would go here again. Highly recommend.

  • Review 41 (2021-06-19 - Rating: 5)

Great cocktail bar! I went here on a first date and I felt like it was a good choice. It can get a little loud, and ordering from the bar isnt perfect if you value a seamless first date, but theres a lot of life and character here that can add to the charm of the night. The menu itself is large and the drink quality is fine. Its not upscale but it can feel that way if youre not accustomed to what upscale is, which is I think an ideal night out for someone in their late 20s

  • Review 42 (2024-08-16 - Rating: 5)

Always a great cocktail to be had here. The taste of your drink, scent of the room, feel of the glass with a giant ice cube (made with care) in your hand. Bring great company and youre in for a very good evening. My BIL introduced me to this place years ago, and though I dont visit often enough, Im always very happy when I do.

  • Review 43 (2018-11-25 - Rating: 5)

Tough to find; the bouncer outside was my only clue. Great bartender; told him I wanted something with scotch and gin, and he whipped up something great

  • Review 44 (2024-07-28 - Rating: 5)

Good atmosphereNice serviceCocktail are fancy 🎉🎉🎉

  • Review 45 (2022-03-12 - Rating: 5)

This place hands down has the best cocktails in the city. If you want great quality cocktails, this is the place to go. Besides the amazing options they have on the menu, they can make basically any classic cocktail for you as well. They use only the freshest ingredients.

  • Review 46 (2024-02-04 - Rating: 5)

This review is based off of my first visit. I just discovered this establishment this weekend. First impression: sophisticated goth. My friend recommended this place for the strong, unique cocktails. When we arrived, Sisters of Mercy was playing and I was instantly drawn to the dark inviting atmosphere. The host was welcoming yet very thorough in checking our IDs. My two friends and I were seated in a cozy booth and each was given some refreshing lemon water with cucumber. We were given the option to be seated in a booth or hang out at the bar. On a Saturday night, there were A LOT of people at the bar so Im glad we stayed in the booth. We also had the benefit of having someone check in on us throughout the night to keep the drinks flowing. He was pretty chill and attentive without rushing or pressuring us to order right away. Made sure we gave him a great tip for his awesome service. We were there for about 4 hours and ordered about 3 fancy drinks each. Highly recommend this place for a low key date night or intimate hang out with a small group.Drinks recommended: chilled coffee (made with rum, absinthe & cold brew)

  • Review 47 (2022-07-07 - Rating: 5)

I got one of the market price “choose your own” cocktail and it was the best cocktail I’ve ever had. Put your trust in the bartenders. The bar was a very cool place with an awesome vibe. Some of the cocktails are on happy hour from 4 - 6. Would recommend this place for cocktails

  • Review 48 (2023-06-03 - Rating: 5)

Great selection of drinks and cocktails. If you have a favorite cocktail, this place will likely make it better than any other experience you had before. They have seasonal cocktail menu that change every few months that people should try.

  • Review 49 (2020-09-20 - Rating: 5)

I love this place so much. The cocktails are fantastic pre and post COVID. Outdoor seating is very spaced out. Tables are clean. Practices for using the bathroom made me feel very safe, temp checks, hand sanitizer, and wipes in the bathroom. Loved it!

  • Review 50 (2022-10-21 - Rating: 5)

Very cool, old school vibes, juke box that plays some really great classics on VINYL! Great mixologists, drinks worth the cost, friendly staff and crowd. Definitely a cool place to hang out.If you liked my review please give me a thumbs up👍🏾 and follow me for more honest reviews! 🙏🏾

  • Review 51 (2022-04-18 - Rating: 5)

Amazing cocktails and an unrivalled selection of spirits. Our bartender, (nay mixologist!) Matty, created drinks off the cuff based on our preferred spirit of choice. Had a ton of fun just chatting about different rare bottles they had and getting some great food recommendations in the area as well. Cant wait to go back

  • Review 52 (2019-01-16 - Rating: 5)

Probably the best Manhattan Ive ever had. The Baltimore Sour was good too. We also ordered the roast beef sandwich and that was wonderful. I love the dark, old-school vibe. Music was good but not loud, so my companion and I had no trouble talking, which is half the point.

  • Review 53 (2020-01-19 - Rating: 5)

Been a regular for 9 years and of all the bars I’ve been to all over the world this remains in my top 3. The bartenders are so knowledgeable...never ordered a drink they didn’t know. If you’re adventurous you can let them know what kind of drinks you like and ask them to make you something you’ve never tried before. Discovered a few amazing cocktails that way. It gets crowded though after 6 pm, on the weekends it’s impossible to get in. I recommend going during happy hour 5-7 on Monday-Thursday so you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere and get one on one attention wit the bartender.

  • Review 54 (2023-02-19 - Rating: 5)

A speakeasy style bar, but not in the sense it’s hidden. The main bar is at the back, with a front seating area.Food wise, they do have mixed nuts and jerky, but that’s all. Great place to go after a hearty meal nearby. The menu of cocktails is quite extensive and of the 8 drinks we had, they were all very well made and delicious. I personally liked the Old Barrel the most, it was booze forward - in a good way.The bartenders definitely know their stuff and make great drinks. Special shout-out for using clear ice as well.

  • Review 55 (2024-01-04 - Rating: 5)

Friend took us out to this speakeasy bar near his apartment and i gotta say, its the exact vibe i was looking for on a Friday night! Bartender was helpful and crafted every cocktail we ordered with perfection. Would definitely come back here again to try their other drinks if im in the area :)

  • Review 56 (2016-10-22 - Rating: 5)

This place has got to be the truest speakeasy Ive ever been! After a terrible night at TAO downtown, we yelped something last minute and found this hidden gem. Look for the blinking BAR sign. It wasnt hard to find, but from the looks of this place outside it looks VERY run down and super sketch. We almost thought it was closed down or something. We walked in and thought it was just booth like tables in restaurants, but as you keep walking you will see the beautiful bar. I love how behind every seat there is a coat hanging hook (We dont have this in California) so you will not need to hold your coat or bag on your lap. Everything in this bar just makes you feel like you are back in the 1920s with a true speakeasy prohibition feel.Im not really into old fashion drinks because I dont drink for taste, only to get to the point so I wasnt quite sure what to order. I went back on yelp and saw a picture and pointed it out to our bartender. He said that drink is called Queens Park Swizzle. The drink itself was so pretty, tasted great and strong. We only had one drink and left because we were pretty tired from the long wait we had previously at TAO.I definitely recommend this place if you want a relaxing night with a great cocktail.

  • Review 57 (2024-11-01 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely amazing cocktails, one after another each one surprised us with how intentional and well crafted they were. Andrew and Ryan served us some amazing drinks and would recommend this place as a great place to start your night.

  • Review 58 (2021-11-27 - Rating: 5)

Drinks are great! Friendly and rapid service

  • Review 59 (2024-09-01 - Rating: 5)

    Speakeasy vibe. Great drinks

  • Review 60 (2016-10-20 - Rating: 5)

Love the drinks here. They can make a drink that taste like things you had no idea existed but boy, do they make it work. Its darkly lit and has a speakeasy feel. The last time I went, they did away with the menu and only offered mini, savory pies. Back to the drinks, I had a Gin Fizz variation and a drink made with whiskey, and a slew of other craft ingredients, that were both awesome.

  • Review 61 (2019-03-07 - Rating: 5)

A good cocktail bar a great vibe. The layout is intimate and the staff is knowledgeable. Personally I prefer beer and enjoy Manhattans. My cocktail drinking friends love this place and the one’s I’ve had are great.

  • Review 62 (2022-05-26 - Rating: 5)

I went to Dutch Kills for the first time with a group of girl friends and really enjoyed our time. The staff is very friendly and attentive and mindful of allergies. They have some fun, beautiful cocktails but be warned - theyre strong! We had 1-2 drinks each and that was a good amount for us. We didnt end up getting any food so I cant comment on that.We were easily able to get booth seating on a weekday night as it wasnt too packed but the bar area seemed pretty crowded. The restaurant is dark and moody and I really enjoyed the private atmosphere of the place. Definitely a top date night spot in LIC!

  • Review 63 (2020-08-09 - Rating: 5)

The bartenders and cocktails have always top notch. With COVID, the dark interior of the bar is missed but the new outdoor seating and menu, true to Dutch Kills form, are excellent – their breakfast burrito has no business being so good. They continue to rotate their cocktail menu and have great sandwiches available as well.

  • Review 64 (2019-03-02 - Rating: 5)

If you are not looking for this place it could be hard to stumble into on accident. your experience starts by walking into a dimly lit speakeasy distinguished by a BAR sign outside(It could be hard to spot of youre not looking for it). The unassuming door leads into a fun environment and lively vibe with great cocktails. Definatly worth a stop. Did I mention the cocktails? First time to New York, visiting from Chicago and this place felt right at home. Bravo.

  • Review 65 (2024-06-11 - Rating: 5)

Old tavern vibe with private booths, vintage cocktail menu, and killer whiskey selection!

  • Review 66 (2022-01-08 - Rating: 5)

This is the best bar in NYC. The drinks are phenomenal and of high quality. The service is excellent. I love the interior aesthetic as it is a speakeasy styled bar. This is an awesome spot for an intimate dinner with a loved one or for a friendly gathering at the gorgeous bar top.

  • Review 67 (2019-07-01 - Rating: 5)

Great place to grab a drink on a late saturday night. We were on our way to a nearby bowling alley and popped in out of curiousity. I love the speakeasy vibe, especially because there wasnt a crazy wait to get in since the place isnt advertised from the outside. Even the bar took me by surprise. They didnt have my choice of whiskey and i couldnt make up my mind on what to drink. Not only was the bartender helpful in my decision making, but he came up with a drink that was amazing and better than my go-to option. The ambiance was amazing and perfect for a date or just grabbing drinks with friends. I will definitely be going back soon!

  • Review 68 (2024-12-31 - Rating: 5)

Great, friendly and quick service, along with good cocktails.

  • Review 69 (2018-01-10 - Rating: 4)

The drinks here are superb. Pricey, but superb. The bartenders know how to make a drink that will put some hair on your chest. The bar unfortunately is really small and cramped. Its hard to stand around sipping $16 martinis when you just might bump into the guy next to you and drop your drink. Overall though,a great speakeasy that cant be missed if youre in LIC

  • Review 70 (2018-04-03 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely amazing drinks. Even sprits I dont like are mixed and blended to a specific taste. The outcome is sure to make you smile. The sandwiches are not only flavorful but are artfully built or assembled (for lack of a better word) They hands down will impress the most judgmental sandwich critic. Nothing here will disappoint. Atmosphere is a cool speakeasy (chill) spot. I came back and will continue...

  • Review 71 (2024-12-03 - Rating: 5)

One my favorite speak easy’s in the city! Bartenders can make whatever you want. Place is a gem and probably the best mixologists in Queens/LIC

  • Review 72 (2013-04-22 - Rating: 4)

$15 NYC style cocktails prepared by master mixologisits for $11 ($9 during happy hour). The cocktails are strong too but awesome. We grabbed a table and grabbed some bites too, you can only grab food at the tables, not at the bar. I got the steak sandwich ($9) which was really tender and served on good bread, however I felt it was lacking more flavor as they could have used more sauce or butter. Service was kinda slow, it seemed like there was only one person taking care of all the tables.

  • Review 73 (2016-11-22 - Rating: 5)

Ive been coming to Dutch kills for about three years now. Ive been to a few Speakeasys and craft cocktail bars but I do enjoy this one as the drinks are well made and the bartenders care deeply about their craft. What I enjoy most is that if you dont enjoy a particular drink they will happily make you another. Feel free to ask your bartender to suggest you a drink based on your interest in spirit and flavor profile as they are super knowledgeable about cocktails. They are bound to make you your next favorite cocktail!

  • Review 74 (2022-06-06 - Rating: 5)

As a queens native who has moved to Bk almost a decade ago, I frequently go back to my old stomping ground just for a DK cocktail. The staff truly understand the meaning of cocktail culture and hospitality. Can’t recommend the experience here enough!

  • Review 75 (2020-06-27 - Rating: 5)

Great cocktail bar that never fails to deliver. Even with all the stuff thats happened these few months they havent back down in quality for their delivery or takeout window drinks. Cant wait until the bar opens back up fully as their Happy Hour drinks are second to none in this city.

  • Review 76 (2019-12-30 - Rating: 5)

Speakeasy vibe. Almost walked right by the place it because of very small signage outside but awesome place once we found it. Mix cocktails were delicious. Mixologist, not your average bartenders. You can tell they take extreme pride in serving the most delicious drinks possible. Looking forward to returning.

  • Review 77 (2013-09-10 - Rating: 4)

This place can be easily missed as it does not say the name outside. I am glad I was with a friend and she knew about this place.Really cozy setting, they have some seating in the first part and rest of the seating is at the bar. The decor is chic and modern. The lighting is perfect at the bar. After a quick glance of the menu I ordered the New Orleans Buck and my friend she ordered Bees kiss.Few observations on my drink -1) There are lot of small ingrediants which were put in my drink.2) Instead of crushed ice, I had a long slab of ice in my drink.3) They use metal straws which is really cool , it is environment friendly too.My drink was good and it had a perfect pinch of ginger syrup. I tasted my friends drink which was more on the creamer side but still good. Even though there are located in LIC, the drinks are expensive. But still it is good spot to go with friends.

  • Review 78 (2019-10-28 - Rating: 4)

Went here with my co-workers after work for happy hour. Its really dark and as you enter with tables on both sides with a dim lit candle for intimacy and as you go toward the end it opens up a bit with the bar and and jukebox. They have LOTS of different types of drinks all the way to the real expensive ones. If you want intimacy and privacy, this is the place to go.

  • Review 79 (2023-12-04 - Rating: 5)

Ever since I saw the video with Jeff from Epicurious on YouTube, I had to come here and it didn’t disappoint. I came back here on a date (not successful), but I do highly recommend it for a date. The ambience is relaxed and intimate but also very personal and I can say the same about the drink. I had the Old Fashioned and it was perfect. I can’t wait to go back to Dutch Kills.

  • Review 80 (2022-04-12 - Rating: 4)

Great cocktail bar with speakeasy vibes. Seating inside is pretty limited with a few booths in the front but there are also seats by the bar in the back as well as very narrow standing room. There are also 4 or 5 outdoor tables in heated spaces on the sidewalk. All the tables were taken around 7:30pm on a Saturday, but we were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar after standing for only a few minutes. The cocktails were excellent and were about $17 each. I had a couple of the Spring seasonal cocktails which were okay, but the Old Fashioned was absolutely top notch and I would highly recommend.

  • Review 81 (2024-09-22 - Rating: 5)

Cool bar with really good cocktails. The ambiance is totally 5 star. They also have live music/dj sets in the weekend. Hidden gem in the heart of LIC

  • Review 82 (2021-11-24 - Rating: 5)

I dont drink so I got a cube of ice here. It was amazing. But the team I was with try bars all across the country as they come on site, and absolutely loved this place.Amazing drinks, an amazingly knowledgeable server/bartender, and a really really amazing speakeasy vibe

  • Review 83 (2017-06-22 - Rating: 5)

I often travel and stay across the street at The Aloft Long Island City Hotel. When the bartender recommends Dutch Kills, I thought it worth a try and he was right. Not accustomed to the art of drinking mixed cocktails, I received a good education from the bartender and a delicious referral. Went back on my recent visit and would recommend a visit!

  • Review 84 (2019-08-21 - Rating: 4)

Cool spot, very limited selection of food, but a VAST selection of spirits. Of the few food items they offered, I got the grilled cheese special with chicken bolognese. Quite possibly the best grilled cheese Ive ever eaten. However, there was some strange dark mush (possibly a crushed cocktail cherry) in my metal reusable straw which wasnt supposed to be there, as I was drinking a G&T. Nice place, would consider revisiting!

  • Review 85 (2019-08-24 - Rating: 5)

Really good speak easy. You just have to look for the door. Its small so you may have to wait to sit but the cocktails are great. Fantastic selection of alcohol behind the bar with some rare gems. Just be prepared for city prices.

  • Review 86 (2023-06-10 - Rating: 5)

Most amazing cocktail bar in all of NYC. They really care about cocktails here, not pretending like others. Even make their own out of this world ice.

  • Review 87 (2019-11-21 - Rating: 5)

Excellent drinks. Pricey, but they’re with it. Warm and intimate environment with a classy back bar. Great service that are very skilled mixologists. Love the jukebox and the metal straws!!

  • Review 88 (2023-06-08 - Rating: 5)

My boyfriend and I had the best time here, our bar tender was Andrew and he was awesome! He made us the best drinks and made us feel right at home

  • Review 89 (2013-06-26 - Rating: 5)

Awesome bar for well made cocktails. They may be a little expensive, but youre paying for a carefully crafted drink with top shelf booze. they also have a kitchen and their roasted pork sammech was incredible. Weekdays have a good vibe, summer weekends get a little crowded with PS1 in full force. Its still fun as hell though.

  • Review 90 (2017-03-22 - Rating: 5)

Simply unbeatable for cocktails. Choose from the menu or just tell the bartenders what flavors youre feeling and watch the magic happen. They make their own amazing ice, tailored to the type of drink.Serving sandwiches and a couple of bottled beers, too.

  • Review 91 (2018-05-12 - Rating: 5)

Drinks are on the pricey side but you are paying for the atmosphere and the well crafted cocktails. The bar tenders are very friendly. Only downside is that it is long and skinny so it can get tight when it is busy.

  • Review 92 (2018-07-04 - Rating: 4)

Awesome. Carefully crafted drinks. Good atmosphere. The only reason why I cannot give it 5 stars is I did not have the opportunity to try their food.

  • Review 93 (2011-12-09 - Rating: 5)

Stumbled across this place while dog-sitting for a friend in LIC. The entrance is both shady and enticing in a secret lair sort of way. The ambiance is indeed dark and sexy and the cocktails are amazing. They take a couple of minutes to make them though so if youre looking to get after it,I would recommend getting a beer while they craft your cocktail. Great place to converse with a friend...

  • Review 94 (2024-09-24 - Rating: 5)

The service is usually a bit slow, but I love their cocktails. They keep getting more expensive, so I dont go there as often as I used to.

  • Review 95 (2024-10-03 - Rating: 4)

Beautiful bar. Can get crowded. The Tiger Chilled Coffee hit the spot.

  • Review 96 (2016-05-26 - Rating: 4)

Nice hidden speakeasy style bar where adults can go to have a private conversion in one of the many semi cordoned off booths or sit at the bar and chat it up with randos.Dimly lit, with wood panelling everywhere make it feel warm and higher end.The drinks seem to be good, and authentic (correct ice etc).

  • Review 97 (2021-12-29 - Rating: 4)

We actually visited here on two occasions. The first time we arrived without calling only to find out they were closed that night. This time around we made sure to call ahead (good principle to use anywhere in these uncertain times).I loved their speakeasy vibe. We were seated at our booth immediately. For food, we ordered the calabrian cesar salad ( breadcrumbs, shaved parms and chives). They mainly had sandwiches as meals so i went with the Ill Papa while my husband ordered the spicy salami sandwich. The Ill papa was the better choice. It had the most ingredients out of all the others ones and was lauded by our waiter.Drinks. The main reason to come here. We sampled the Bandolero Ciego (mezcal, sweet vermouth, amontillado sherry, Benedictine, chocolate bitters) , Manzanita (tequila, becherovka, apple cider, orgeat, fresh lime), their Gre-no-li (ahus akvavit, capelletti aperitivo, sweet vermouth, heirloom alchermes) and Winners circle (bourbon, creme de cacao, fresh lemon juice, angostura bitters). Overall, the drinks were well made, more on the stronger side here than other speakeasies I have frequented. You definitely leave here with a buzz!

  • Review 101 (2017-07-18 - Rating: 5)

The interior is kind of like the interior of a old ship. Dutch kills has been around for a while and theyve consistently made the most amazing craft cocktails in the LIC area. It gets a little crowded in the weekends but if you want a quiet drink, do come by during the week.

  • Review 102 (2017-07-04 - Rating: 4)

Dutch Kills is a cool speakeasy styled establishment. You can literally walk right by it and not know its there.Great vibe , delicious cocktails, and a free jukebox. Only downsides are the drinks are pricey and it can get very crowded.

  • Review 103 (2019-02-19 - Rating: 5)

Dutch Kills bar was such a pleasure! The drinks were very tasty and strong!. Great place for a date night. The dark warm cosy atmosphere was great! ohh did i mention the drinks were tasty!!!!!! Such a great edition to the LIC Movement. This is my 3rd time there and Definitely going back soon!

  • Review 104 (2016-10-25 - Rating: 5)

Wonderful atmosphere. Ive only been on weeknights, but both times was able to get a table. Excellent service. Expensive drinks, but very well made. Definitely one of the top old fashioneds Ive had.

  • Review 105 (2022-04-20 - Rating: 5)

Thats exactly how you expect a cocktail bar to be like. Awesome cocktails, excellent service, and a laid-back atmosphere. I highly recommend the Old Fashioned and the Penicillin. But the seasonal cocktails are excellent too.

  • Review 106 (2024-02-11 - Rating: 4)

No food options. Just mixed nuts.

  • Review 107 (2011-03-19 - Rating: 4)

Good cocktails by expert mixologists. Didnt actually look at the menu at all, just told the fellow what I felt like, e.g. Gin with herbaceous notes. Im pretty sure everything he made was on the menu, but Im willing to bet they could off road if need be. I think its out of the way location will keep it safe from crowds for now. So dont tell anyone about this place.

  • Review 108 (2012-10-02 - Rating: 5)

Wow... This is a reference quality bar. What I mean by that is, any drink you have, anywhere in the city must be compared the equivalent here. Because, Dutch Kills makes the best drink! Im serious. I like to drink. My friends call me a functioning alcoholic. They keep a small menu with several drinks in it that changes seasonally. But if you know what you want, go ahead and ask for it. Heck, if you dont know what you want, ask the bartender to give you his/her best shot (they actually encourage this). Besides the drinks, the bar has a super chill vibe in a super chill part of town. And just so you dont think im a rookie, Ive been to ALL the good bars in the city (Pegu, PDT, Death & Co, to name a few) and yes, they are great. But for some reason, I find myself coming back here.

  • Review 111 (2015-07-25 - Rating: 5)

Jesse, our cocktail expert, was, for lack of a better word, brilliant! The place is a very down to earth, chillax type of place. Great for any occasion; even to just pop over for a quick cocktail. The ambience reminds you of a time when the word sippin was taken literally in its context. Everyone is well versed and friendly in their service and its one of the few one a kind cocktail places in NYC. My wife and I recommend it for any day, check for times, though 😎. Cheers Jesse! Cheers Dutch Kills!

  • Review 112 (2017-05-29 - Rating: 5)

Val the bartender is a true artist and master at his craft. The way a sommelier would describe notes of wine to you what you are tasting, Val the bartender will produce for you an elevated cocktail on the spot for what you are looking for. Great vibe for sophisticated cocktails that will leave you wanting more for what truly is a revival of classic and new age drinks.

  • Review 116 (2021-10-31 - Rating: 5)

Dutch kills is absolutely amazing. Cocktails are perfectly balanced. The booze selections are carefully displayed so it’s easier for you to make decision if you want something other than cocktail.Should definitely check it out if you’re in the neighborhood.

  • Review 118 (2023-08-19 - Rating: 5)

One of my favorite bars in Queens, especially if you’re in the Long Island City area. Drinks are great, atmosphere is very cool, calm and collected with limited seating so the space won’t get too crowded with FCFS seating.

  • Review 119 (2017-10-02 - Rating: 5)

My favorite place for a drink! Bartenders choice is the best, they always create something I love. They have a few good snacks as well if youre hungry! Update 10/2017- the sandwiches they have now are great, especially the roast beef!

  • Review 123 (2013-05-18 - Rating: 5)

Atmosphere is great and the location is burgeoning. The drinks were average price for NYC (expensive). The bartender was cordial. He knew that I was drinking a specific liquor and recommended other drinks that would compliment my tastes.

Superb service, excellent cocktails! Loved this place.

  • Review 125 (2023-07-05 - Rating: 4)

Went with a friend and we were at the table outside. To be honest I preferred outside more cause I found out there was a bad smell inside the day we visited.I couldn’t remember names of the cocktails but I like my friend’s more. Mine is something like pina colada but with a really grassy alcohol taste. I have to say it tasted like cilantro or celery which I really don’t like😅.

  • Review 126 (2017-12-12 - Rating: 5)

Based on the response from the owner, Im pulling down my review. Since I am staying in the area, I will return to the restaurant where we ate to confirm that we screwed up.Update: It appears that we mixed up Dutch Kills with Dutch Kills Centraal which appear to be 2 completely different places. As out of town visitors that havent lived in NYC since LIC was an industrial slum, please pardon our error. We look forward to trying Dutch Kills and expect a pleasurable experience. I apologize.
