    It was our first time in NYC, and we stumbled upon Gabriel’s. We instantly loved the warm ambiance and felt so welcomed. We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of being served by the owner himself, Gabriel—a great guy, clearly passionate about his craft and providing exceptional service. We enjoyed the Gnocchi Sorrentina, Pappardelle Cacio e Pepe, and Mozzarella di Búfala Caprese—the freshest Italian cuisine we’ve ever had. 10/10!

    My wife and I truly enjoyed our experience here as this restaurant came highly recommended by our hotel. It definitely did not disappoint as it had a cozy atmosphere with exceptional service augmented by stellar food. I tried the lamb which was not only generous but cooked to perfection . My wife and I will never forget their gluten free donuts for dessert which could very well be some of the best in the country. I posted a video of them on a wheel that spins with caramel and chocolate sauces as well. Oh and it’s a nice personal touch when you realize the humble owners are waiting on you too .

    Went in for a weekend brunch with a couple of friends. Absolutely loved the vibe and classy setting. Service was great and welcoming, food was delicious. Banana pudding from the dessert menu was absolutely mind-blowing and very fulfilling, we easily shared it between 4ppl and everyone felt satisfied. Eggs Benedict were also delicious, fresh and good portion. The place got packed by 3pm. We had a nice stroll afterwards through east side all the way up to the Guggenheim’s Museum. Will be back on my next trip to NYC!

    Fantastic family own and ran restaurant. Forgotten art to see the proprietor and his sons great and meet you during dinner service. Food is fantastic! They say the risotto is best in town... they are the truth.

    Great all the way around! Nice atmosphere, on the nice side. By Central Park, great service and great food! Vongole was perfect. Simple pasta w red sauce - perfect. Arugula salad - the best and simple. Ricotta cheesecake - OG and perfect. Drinks good too A+++!!!!

    My family and I had a perfect dinner at Gabriels. We had a lot of good drinks (including the espresso martini 🤌) and amazing food (highly recommend the burrata app and tagliatelle bolognese). But my favorite part of the experience was the service provided by the impressive staff. Thanks for having us, well definitely be back!

    Real Tasty!!! Really nice dinner. Great Italian food. Loved the Burrata app and loved all of the pastas. The desserts were very good too. We highly recommend this place. Very romantic but can accommodate lager groups as well. Check out all of our reviews. If we do not like it we do no review it so all of the ones you see are places that are fantastic.     Great family style restaurant Italian restaurant with fantastic food. The pasta is home made. Exceptional service. Background music that allows you to have a conversation. Beautiful paintings and ceiling lamps. The entire staff there is friendly and very attentive.

    We had a great lunch catching up with some family from out of town at Gabriels. The staff was very accommodating. We were a group of seven and they were able to accommodate our request for outdoor seating. They do of course have cafe style outdoor seating, but normally its two-top tables, so they had to do some pre-prep beforehand. When it started to rain the staff was very quick about asking us if we wanted the table rearranged into an L shape so as to provide more awning cover for the farthermost seat. Very attentive service throughout.We ordered a variety of dishes. The seared scallops were perfectly cooked. Meatballs were small but tasty. Tuna tartare was good, on par with how it should normally taste. The gnochhi was soft and pillowy, not too dense, with a rich tomato sauce. But I think the short ribs were the standout, very moist and tender.

    Overall a nice restaurant in a touristy area. We were in Central Park and got a last minute reservation here. They bring bread to the table, it was a little dry but they give oil as an option. Had the arugula salad and the bolognese. The bolognese was very different, it was creamy which I wasn’t expecting. I’d recommend it but don’t expect rich meaty flavors, more creamy. The service was really pleasant, those the guy that handed us our menu (assuming some sort of manager) didn’t really smile or say anything, kinda just threw the menus at us as we sat down.

    We are from South Mississippi and we stumbled in on this little Jim the food was absolutely excellent. I recommend anybody that is hungry around Central Park to stop in. The service is awesome. Overall a great experience.

    Gabriel’s is NYC dining at it’s best. Amazing location on Central Park South. Warmly from the moment you walk in and service was exceptional throughout our delicious meal. The food was absolutely delicious with fresh homemade pasta and amazing desserts. But I have to point out how wonderful and warm service – that is a rarity in today’s world. They truly made us feel and made all the more memorable. I typically don’t write reviews but felt compelled to share my wonderful experience last night.

    What a beautiful restaurant and decor! Quiet restaurant and lovely staff. We were a group of 7 and were seated in a lovey area where we could converse without needing to speak loudly.     Our favorite place in Manhattan. If I could give 6 stars, I would. The personal touch of being greeted by Gabriel when arriving and then again when leaving is very much appreciated and helps to ensure you have a great meal.     Been twice for weekend brunch and loved it. Food is delicious and service is welcoming impeccable. We always are looked after by host and service is fast. We’ve tried the brunch items, gnocchi, burger and pancakes; all great. Kid friendly too. The portions are just right /enough - we usually don’t have take home leftovers.

    Probably the best dining experience I’ve ever had! The ambiance was stunning - the lighting, the seating, the bar, and the art!!! Not to mention the staff was SO lovely and location is superb with a perfect view of Central Park. We were greeted by Gabriel (the owner) with a friendly handshake welcoming me into the restaurant. Our waiter was amazing as well - guiding me towards gluten free options and encouraging the delicious specials. YOU MUST GET the truffle risotto !!     We had the best time! We went for there for dinner before a show at the Lincoln Center since is close by. The dishes are delicious, good size, great flavor! The restaurant ambiance and art is just a nice complement. Service was great! They have also a nice room for special events too.

    We found this gem of a bar/restaurant and visited five or six times. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff very professional and friendly. Eddie provided excellent service and Gabriel the owner is so welcoming and friendly and has time for everyone. The food was out of this world - particular mentions are Ravioli Zucca and the Brasato di Costolette di Manzo (short ribs to die for). The bomboloni (Italian doughnuts with chocolate and caramel sauces) is one of the best desserts I’ve had! We would definitely recommend this place. It’s in an excellent location opposite Central Park.

    BEST ITALIAN FOOD IN NEW YORK CITY!! My best friend and I traveled from Florida to New York for a girls trip. We arrived to the city late and Gabriels was the only restaurant nearby that was open so we decided to try it. When we entered the place was absolutely stunning and clean. Even though my best friend and I were the only ones in the place at the very end of the night, we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff members. Our waiter immediately came to our table, greeted us with a smile and took the time to listen to our starving stomachs who didnt know if it wanted raviolis or meatballs.The waiter suggested Ravioli Zucca for my appetizer so i decided to try it and OMG!!!! it was soooooo good!! My best friend said she wanted spaghetti and meat sauce so he suggested the Tagliatelle Bolognese so we both decided to try it and OMG!! it was freaking amazing! Neither of us had leftovers and we didnt feel like stuffed pigs. The food was so filing and amazing that our stomachs felt just right.At the very end of our dining experience, i finally asked the waiter his name, he replied Gabriel Jr. As in the son of THEEEEE Gabriel Sr. The freaking boss was serving us the whole time and he was so humble and friendly that we had no clue!Needless to say, the food and our dining experience was soooo good that we returned 2 days later and ordered the exact same thing except this time i got the Polpette Di Manzo for my appetizer which was also absolutely AMAZING!! We sat down and Gabriel Jr. immediately remembered us and treated us like family! If you are in the New York area and you want some really good genuine Italian food, Gabriels is the place! You will NOT be disappointed!P.S. My best friend and I will be going there EVERY time we are in New York.

    This is a special place. I was a regular customer of the original restaurant near Lincoln Center and it was always a favorite. The new space on CPS is even more comfortable, elegant, and romantic than the original. The owner Gabriel greeted us and made us feel immediately at home. The entire kitchen staff is back as well as the impeccable table service. For dinner, I ordered one of the most delicious chargrilled tuna steaks ever. My dinner companion had a phenomenal risotto with scallops along with perfectly cooked asparagus. We broke our diets with a too die for chocolate truffle cake, wonderful wine, champagne, and homemade gelato....An amazing evening and dining experience. If you remember the old space, you will love the new one. If you have never been to either spot, make sure you put it on the list. Its the perfect combination of food, service, and ambiance. Even if you only want to stop in for a drink, the new wrap around bar is absolutely gorgeous, lots of wines by the glass and classic cocktails. Of all the restaurants and bars in Manhattan, Gabriels is not to be missed.

    Visited this place late evening after my Central Park walk willing to eat something light , the hostess wanted to put me in the bar cause I wanted to order only a salad although I wanted to sit outside I told her that I will order more plates cause I wanted to sit outside . The staff was very gentle and they served me very well and the beef carpaccio and the salad I took worth every fork . I am happy the hostess insisted politely cause otherwise I wouldn’t taste this tasteful dishes .!!!

    From the moment we arrived at Gabriel’s we were treated impeccably! We arrived and were seated by the owner who greeted us with warmth and like family! We sat and there was an instant bond as we met the owner and his family as it is a team effort! The wine was excellent and the appetizers - encrusted asparagus on a delicious sauce, bruschetta, salads, even the variety of table bread go us going and yearning for more! The lamb chops and potato scallops, fresh pasta w bolognese, fresh tuna and sea bass were EXCELLENT!!! Then came the deserts - one better than the next as we shared across the table!     Gabriels is a class act! From the moment you enter, Gabriels exudes high-quality. The menu isnt the biggest but the food that they offer is always, always, top-notch, and expertly prepared. I have never had a bad experience here. There is a very welcoming bar, areas to sit for appetizers and a drink, and then the lovely and cozy restaurant for a delicious meal. They also have a small private room off to the side that accommodates about 30 people. If theres a party you it doesnt interfere at all with the restaurant.What really makes Gabriels special, is Gabriel himself. He is attentive, and he seems continent eager-to-please. He is such a great host, and he has such an open personality. Hes very much involved in the running of his a terrific restaurant. All the ingredients are top quality and fresh. The location steps from Central Park, from Columbus Circle, from the Subways and buses, make Gabriels easy to get to. The atmosphere and the food makes Gabriels easy to love!

    Excellent northern Italian menu worth the price (steep) of admission? Service goes from attentive to hasty, not what you would expect at these prices. We enjoyed a very tasty pasta dish with scallops and shrimp as well as a home made (?) ravioli. The dessert was haphazardly thrown down on the table by the food runner (in a race?). Plenty of room around the table to not feel cramped, yet the servers would keep banging into my chair...go figure. We might try going for lunch instead or pre-theater, maybe they will up their game.

    Gabriels is my absolute most favorite restaurant in NYC. Every time I step through the door, I feel as though Ive come home. Scott will wave hello from behind the bar and Gabriel will drift by with a warm welcome and thanks for stopping in and then ask how are you, and mean it. The food is beyond perfection, though I generally order a variation of my favorites every time Im there; the spicy wood grilled calamari, tuna crudo, wood grilled portobello mushrooms, grilled yellow fin tuna or salmon. Though not a meat eater, my friends tell me the barolo braised short ribs are incredible. In the summer, the chilled cucumber soup is enough of a reason to go. The atmosphere is lively and spirited, but not too loud at all, just a great vibe. The service is impeccable. When Im by myself, I love sitting at the bar for just a drink or having lunch/dinner. Scott is very entertaining and makes a mean martini! I was introduced to Gabriels by a friend who was actually at the soft opening almost 30 years ago, and who has continued to frequent this fine establishment for as many years. In turn, I take great pride in introducing my friends, (as I did this past Monday evening), to this elegant, welcoming establishment. You cannot go wrong stopping by Gabriels.

    I would give Gabriels 4 1/2 stars--having had lunch and dinners in the last weeks, food, service and atmosphere excellent on all counts.One minor suggestion if the restaurant reads these reviews is the maitred at lunch was going to sit us at the first table by the entrance which I prefer my privacy--she could have asked if I wanted to sit there versus taking me to the table first and when I said no--she did sit me in the back--If they keep up the quality, dont squeeze in tables so close you cant have a conversation will make Gabriels a regular for lunch and dinners.

The side of truffle fries are perfectly cooked and there are a lot of them, and my mouth did not know that it needed roasted cherry tomatoes on a burger until it did.The pasta selections looked incredible, I would happily try them if I went back. I would also need to buy bigger pants if I lived in the city and had the option to go back lol...We sat on the covered sidewalk/patio area - the people watching is phenomenal. Staff are all very friendly and courteous and attentive, definitely 5 star treatment.What I did NOT like - dont add a 20% gratuity to my bill without telling me. If its a larger party, sure I get it, but I spent years working in the service industry and the annoyance that seeing the tip already added like that was enough to make me rebel against adding on an additional tip. Our waiter was nice, he would have gotten more than that. But this is a restaurant, not a country club or hotel room service, and it was a burger and some fries.
