Overall rating: 4.95OMG BEST KEPT SECRET. I don’t know how I’ve never heard of this place but I’m so happy it’s in my life now.I went on a date around 9:30 on a Friday and we were very lucky and got the last seats at the bar. The interior is so breathtaking and I don’t feel like I’m in NYC anymore. It feels like I’ve been transported to somewhere in Europe, in the best possible way. I have no idea what we ordered but they were very good.Definitely worth checking out!

In love with the new speakeasy bar, George Bang Bang! The owner’s Craftsmanship in cocktail making is an artistic and creative approach that allows customers to have a unique experience in taste, smell, texture, and presentation. His craftsmanship, passion and personality make GBB absolutely the best speakeasy bar in New York! I love all his signature cocktails. My favorites are The Chloe, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Emma’s Wife and The Blue Gardenia. Of course, Don “Michael” Corleone if you are in LOVE with Whiskey! Not only are his signature cocktails excellent, but the classic cocktails are on a whole new level.

Have you heard of the restaurant Okdongsik? Have you ever been to their restroom? Then you would’ve accidentally stumbled to this speakeasy, George Bang Bang. They’ve curated some amazing cocktails. During our visit, my friend had asked for something other table was having. It looked like a beef jerkey. We asked for the dish and the waiter advised that was not on the menu and they were in the middle of a developing stage. However, he was nice enough to bring us the menu as a complimentary. The potato pancake almost felt like a mozzi, and their sandwich was sweet. If you’re interested in cocktail bar, definitely one of the place you should check out! Plus, special thanks to my friend who waited for almost an hour because my work had ended late😂

Dope Thats the description of this place the minute you walk in.Folks, this speakeasy is one of those places that I wished was still more of a secret so that it wouldnt be popular and get hard to get into because theres no more room, but at the same time its too good of a place for others not to know.Its easy to miss because from the outside you look in and see a 12-15 top seater of people eating, but just walk in, even if you see a line outside and go straight to the back, theres another door there. Youll see a business card taped to the door GBB. Open the door and enter into one of the coolest spots in NYC. Limited seating, so you might want to make a reservation ahead of time.Great vibes, great service, and definitely even better drinks. This is one spot once you come, youll want to share it with everyone you actually like hanging out with.

What an amazing find! I was a friend of the late Sasha Petraske… he would have given a hearty thumbs up to the innovation and nod to not a few famous Korean films ;-)… but the care and specificity that went into many of the cocktails this evening… excellent attention to detail… a very attentive and generous manager came to my aid immediately with a dietary issue and offered delicious shots as a complimentary substitute.Definitely in my top five! Incredible speakeasy cocktail bar. Make sure to make a reservation, especially if you’re coming with a larger group!! We were a group of 6 and were seated in this really cool recessed /private corner near the bar. The layout of this bar is amazing— lots of levels and cool decor. Their specialties were great, but I would ultimately recommend their classics— their Negroni was one of the best I’ve ever had.

Great little cocktail bar that’s hard to find - not sure if it’s a speakeasy but worthy of being one. The bartenders here are great and you can tell by the quality of the drinks. They have a huge array of options to choose from so there’s something for everyone. The vibe is also old school and reminds me of a movie setting. Looking forward to going back soon!

As mentioned, if reservations or wait times become necessary, it might lose its speakeasy allure. I hope this hidden gem continues to maintain its exclusive charm.

My, this speakeasy is so cool.Since I’m a tourist, I passed by this place when I first visited. The front is just an empty restaurant that looks closed. The seats are empty, the counters are clean, there is only one lone steel door at the very back.That steel door holds in the burgeoning life that is the room of George Bang Bang. Cozy, warm, and candlelit, this speakeasy boasts a wide array of their own cocktails, some classics, and a condensed repertoire of bite-sized snacks.Definitely a NYC bucket list item, but I do recommend reservations first.

Make sure to get reservations as it can be pretty crowded but it does allow walk-ins later in the night.The drinks are delicious as we tried a number of them. While they were all unique and tasty, they were on the weaker side. My favorite one was the Little Miss Sunshine with the bee pollen!

Cannot say enough about how much I love this place. My boyfriend and I first went here about a year ago, right when it opened and we love it. Where do I start with this place? It wouldnt be fair to say what the average spend is on this place - because I spend half my paycheck here. Every detail, from the cocktails to the presentation, to the red velvety dark interior that looks like you are on the set of the Moulin Rouge...on every level - this place blows my mind. Nestled behind a Korean soup spot that deserves its own review, GBB hides behind an unassuming door. I know what you might be thinking - great, just what New York needs...another effing kitschy speakeasy where you have to jump through hoops for 30 min with some dumb password you find off of a scavenger hunt after dialing in through a defunct laundromat (JUST GET ME MY DAMN DRINK)...but not GBB. No way. Just open the door and find yourself immediately transported behind velvet curtains, deep red ambiance, ornate furniture and carvings, and sexy jazz numbers hovering in the air. The solid wood bar lures you in and you feel like you are in a classic cocktail bar somewhere in Japans bygone era, bathed in a red glow from the velvet backbar.Although that alone is enough to get you through the door for a surefire way to impress your date or friends, it really is all about the drinks, and Alex, owner and operator, does it absolutely right.You are not going to find frilly fires and pyrotechnics. No floating bubbles of nonsense popping in your face and no laundry list of ingredients that some Swedish handmaiden hand plucked from a rare patch of grasslands in the mountains... nope.JUST. GOOD. DRINKS. Innovation and creativity meets mastery at GBB. Not relying on tricks, the drinks have to stand up to their integrity and these drinks do just that. GBBs inspiration comes from film - an inspiration for Alex. Drinks like Don Corleone set the tone with rosemary smoke and a house made chocolate garnish that you bite, drink, bite to your hearts delight. King Kong and Farinelli are must haves for a sweeter night cap...King Kong showing off flavours of toasted sesame and peanut butter - like a way more advanced White Russian. Ingredients show up that most everyone have in their fridge but are presented in new ways, like on the Most Beautiful Moment in Life, and its tangy delicious cream cheese foam.The staff follows suit, dressed in classic attire and are so kind and generous to each patron.For me, I always start with a classic Negroni before I take a dive into Hollywood Land...because Alex - without a shadow of a doubt, makes the best Negroni in Manhattan. Thats on period.

Wanted to try this new bar for a while now. It is tucked behind the famous Korean pop up restaurant, okdongsik. You have to walk past the restaurant to the back door to get to the bar.Alex is amazing. Every drink is well-crafted and cared for. It was truly an experience just watching him make every drink like a work of art. I also liked how the music was not too loud and the bar was very intimate so we can actually have conversations over drinks.My favorite were the most beautiful moment of my life and little miss sunshine. My friend had the farinelli which was also really good. Will come back again next time to try Emma’s wife :)

George Bang Bang, is a small bar (speakeasy like) with a western theme and asian influences.Love the vibe of this place. Cocktails are priced at about $18-$20 bucks standard for NYC. Drinks are delicious and unique. I had the Malena (if you like grapefruit) & the most beautiful moment in life. I do recommend the honey butter chips, which were nice to munch on as we drank.Make sure you come early this place is on the smaller size or you will be waiting for a seat, no standing room. And max party size is 4.

George Bang Bang is an experience. Walking past the diners at the restaurant in the front, finding the real entrance, discovering the warm, intimate space, and watching the talented bartenders make the drinks — it’s really one of my favorite memories from my latest trip to nyc.The drinks are so balanced that you won’t taste any alcoholic harshness, so be careful! You might get tipsier than you thought at the end of the night :)I had a couple cocktails from their signature menu (notting hill and old boy), and both were amazing. I tried my friend’s gin and tonic, and it was so complex and smooth. I want to try more of their classic cocktails in my next visit!

My new favorite speakeasy, tucked in the back of 13 East 30th. Alex makes the best cocktails I have ever had in my life! It is a quiet bar/lounge with chill vibes. A great place for a small group of friends to have a drink and relax. A must go!

A beautiful escape tucked behind a rotating restaurant space. Find yourself walking through a beautiful wooden door into a plush and well appointed space with music gently filling the room. The signature cocktails are the big draw and rhe classic cocktails are equally inventive and satisfying. Cant wait to make our way through the full menu in the coming months.

Came here for drinks with a group of 3 people on 12/21. We didn’t make a reservation, but the staff was super friendly and let us know the estimated wait time. We grabbed a drink nearby while we waited and thankfully a table was ready for us within about a half hour. Drinks were delicious, service was impeccable, and the staff were all so friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience and we will be back!
