Wow this place was such an amazing find. From the moment we checked in to our exit great service!Did a whiskey flight to start all four were great. Each one with their depths of flavor. While sipping on those we had the house pickles to munch on while we decided what to eat.I chose two of the small plates. The salad with vinaigrette and the butter poached lobster. The salad was tasty and fresh but holy cow the lobster. Some of the best lobster I have ever had. The sauce was a perfect compliment. Along with the meal I had the smoked old fashioned and it was great and fit perfectly with my meal.We finished the night with the chocolate bar for my wife and the sticky toffee for me. Both were perfect endingOur waiter was amazing with his knowledge of the menu and was there when you needed him.Just a superior time of whiskey and food. I cant recommend it enough for you to go. -

The Whisky Wonderland Experience was really nice. Took my better and we enjoyed ourselves very much. The decor and ambiance created a beautiful holiday vibe we both enjoyed. Food was good and service was great. We enjoyed the drinks too. Definitely recommend for all to try during the holidays. -

We went for the tasting and tour, and it was a total blast. Our tour guide, Mikael, was incredibly knowledgeable, fun, and friendly, and the bourbons were delightful. He really knows his stuff and made it feel like a party! Afterwards, we hit up their happy hour, which was one of the best Ive had in the city - $1 oysters, delicious breads and dips, wings, and old fashioneds to die for. We will absolutely be back! -

A hidden gem of a distillery with a restaurant and bar that’s just as stunning inside as the whiskey they serve. I came for the whiskey, not expecting much from the food, but the small plates were a pleasant surprise. The croquettes were perfection—crispy, fatty, with just the right amount of heat from the Calabrian chili sauce. They paired beautifully with the chopped salad, which was bright and refreshingly bitter in all the right ways. The whiskey flight is reasonably priced, and the Black Manhattan? Absolutely top-notch. A perfect spot to bring your whiskey-loving friends for a night out. -

Cozy distillery. We took the tour here. Friendly animated, and enjoyable to hang with. As with most distilleries, the people are focused on the heritage in the story. This is the first distillery in Manhattan since the prohibition era.Theres a nice upscale restaurant in a very cozy bar upstairs. Its very welcoming if youre looking for a little quiet comfort.Play have a sister distillery in the whiskey is aged upstate. Everybody has their own taste in Bourbon but we really enjoyed the tasting. The four grain whiskey is particularly smooth. They have events in the speakeasy down stairs. Lots of great stories about the place. -

A proper NY style distillery and a must see! When you think about a distillery in the center of manhattan, this is it! First off, the decor and vibes are 🔥 and the food was just as good, if not better 🤤 When trying the bourbon , it’s like the old saying goes “that will put hair on your chest”. However, you can tell the crowd in this establishment definitely wax or shave their chest 😆 Wife and I had the Chardonnay, Old Fashion, Happy Hour (3-6pm & GREAT DEALS!) , oysters, spinach dip and wings. The wings are HUGE would only recommend 3 at a time, the oysters were good (would have preferred to not have the minced garlic/vinegar) I’m a Lemmon and hot sauce kinda guy though, the spinach dip was 🔥. If you’re visiting NYC and want to get a new experience, I’d highly recommend visiting and doing the tour. -

We came in for the $5 local resident tour and tastings led by Omar who did a fantastic job showing our 9-person group around. The bar has plenty of fantastic drinks at the $18+ price range, much more worth it than what youd find in the city on a Friday night out.The tour also comes with a $10 discount on any bottle you take home with. -

Purposely stopped by because I am a huge fan of Bourbon and local distillery’s. We travelled to NJ/NY for my Father in Laws memorial. We really enjoyed your offerings. So much so we came home a with a couple of bottles. Service was off the charts and knowledgeable. -

My friend Ray and I did the distillery tour and tasting. Both of us had been on prior tours and thought we knew everything. However, our tour guide (Mikikei - I know that isn’t how you spell it and that’s my fault!!) taught us a new way to try bourbon. He was also very excited to teach us about Great Jones. This excitement made the tour much more fun and enjoyable than other tours we have been on. Great tour guide, great bourbon, great rye, and great mixed drinks. Our bartender after that tour was also friendly and approachable. -
Review 10 (2024-10-21 - Rating: 5)
Great tour of the distillery and really enjoyed the interesting tips during the Bourbon tasting. The four grain whiskey was especially smooth and was my favorite. Definitely recommend the tour for people who are fan of whiskey. -

The food was amazing, but I’m sorry too pricey for my wallet. I would have gotten a burger and ribs but not for $24 or $28. I unfortunately could not enjoy my experience more. Me and my girlfriend was satisfied though with the dessert, BBQ wings, and duck appetizer. I just wish we gotten more than the price was for it. But the drinks was amazing too. Wish it was more than the price was. -

We went for the Sunday Jazz Brunch. Cant wait to return! With the jazz music, it was an absolute delight! Great for a brunch date, birthday meal, family, or anytime really. We tried several dishes: Croquettes, Croque Madame, Short Rib Benedict, Chicken and Waffle, and the Monkey Bread. Oh and also the 4-Whiskey flight...Our two favorites were the Croque Madame and Monkey Bread. The other dishes were great, but these were our favorites. Originally from the south, the chicken for the chicken and waffle was just a *little* too crispy for me but the monkey bread was fire!We thoroughly enjoyed the live jazz music! -

Casual Saturday lunch. Croque madame was good but the burger was extremely dry. French fries are soft and thick which I personally liked but you may not like it if you like traditional crispy fries.Atmosphere was perfect with live music.Cocktails tasted great you can definitely taste the bourbon - I would’ve tried more if my New Year’s resolution wasn’t to stop drinking haha. -

We enjoyed the Great Jones Distilling Co. a lot. Two of our group did the tour, and two stayed at the bar on the second floor the entire time. The tour was informative and (thankfully) moved along. The tasting is what everyone was there for, and our guide took his time there, which was great. The two people who stayed at the bar, enjoyed their time. They told us the atmosphere was enjoyable, even though the space got pretty crowded. They also reported the food was good. Overall, this was a fun afternoon/early evening experience. -

Great Jones Distilling Co. was the best distillery tour for us so far. We had John as tour guide and if we could give him 10 stars we would! He is so knowledgeable and passionate about his job. We learned so much about the process of making bourbon, about the company and about drinking bourbon. We tried the applewood smoked old fashioned and the black Manhattan at the bar and both were great. This tour was definitely the perfect birthday gift 😊 -
Review 16 (2023-11-30 - Rating: 5)
Great flavored food! The lamb was so tender and well as the ribs I highly recommend them. Drinks were delicious. And my Burger was perfect. The salmon size is rather small and doesnt come with anything other then cucumbers so I recommend getting a side of Brussel sprouts they were delicious as well. Or maybe they can be included with the Salmon. All in all we really enjoyed our meal. The tour itself was great our guide was amazing super friendly and knowledgeable! -

A wonderful experience! Ariana was funny, attentive, and a wealth of knowledge! I definitely recommend this tour experience. We learned a lot and had a great time with the whiskey tasting experience. Taught us a lot about whiskey and our pallets. Well worth a visit for a birthday, anniversary, or even a date night! Many thanks to the Great Jones team. -
Review 18 (2023-08-10 - Rating: 4)
I planned a Girlcation with my best foodie buddy. She is an exquisite fan of bourbon, whiskey, rye, and scotch. She had not heard of Great Jones Distiling. Our trip happened to time with NYC Summer Restaurant Week 2023. The Grid offers a complimentary Whiskey flight with the Restaurant Week Menu but all diners need to order from that menu. The price point is an incredible deal at $45 per person. We both ordered the same meal. We were both happy with the generous serving of Burrata over Pesto with a Charred Tomato. There are two crisp servings of toast. We were both a bit underwhelmed with the fish option for Restaurant Week Diner. I had to ask for pepper and salt which I usually never do in a restaurant for as much as I dine out. The table next to us ordered the fish and steak and frites. I never order steak and frites as Im not into fries unless they have a truffle oil or parmesan. I had wished I had ordered the steak and frites. The diner next to us also wished he ordered the steak and frites and his date ended up sharing her meal. The fish lacks any carbohydrates. I ordered the brioche spent grains rolls from the regular dining menu which is a must! Dessert I opted for the sorbets. And my dining companion had the sticky toffee carrot cake with cream cheese ice cream. You want to order the sticky toffee! Its a huge serving compared to the sorbet. My friend ended up sharing about half of her dessert with me and I was finally full. She enjoyed the flight. And also ordered 3 cocktails and took a bottle home. This is a beautiful restaurant with an awesome lit map of NYCs Speakeasies. We missed the incredible cocktail hour which we had hoped to do. This restaurant is ADA compliant and has an elevator. The restroom is a unisex room with individual stalls that have floor to ceiling doors for privacy. Highly recommend and next time well order off the regular menu. Our server was fantastic. -
Review 19 (2023-10-24 - Rating: 4)
Not a bad first visit here. The Burger is great. The whiskey flight will put hair on your chest but their unique cocktails are promising. I would say that their take on an old fashion is on the sweet side but they also carry a classics menu and the vesper I had from there was well made. Worth a visit. -

Review 21 (2023-03-10 - Rating: 5)
I took my boyfriend on a tour here for a gift, I booked the regular tour (about $30 each), and it was super cool. Our tour guide, Thomas, was awesome and really knew his stuff. It was really cool to learn about everything whiskey from the history, to how it’s made, and how great jones started as a distillery. It’s definitely a unique experience, and with the tour itself you get a whiskey flight of 3 of their whiskies to try. Definitely a worthwhile experience if you’re looking for a cool activity / date night / if you’re a whiskey fan. Highly recommend the restaurant they have downstairs as well the food was unreal in the best way, truly high quality and beyond delicious. The bar they have upstairs next to the distillery is also really awesome and classy, and you can tell the bartenders take their time making quality drinks. It was my boyfriends first time having a smoked whiskey and it did not disappoint. -

I stumbled upon Great Jones Distillery some time late last year . It is the perfect place to celebrate an intimate or group dinner, have drinks at the bar , experience jazz night , enjoy brunch, take a tour to see their amazing distillery and visit the speak easy . The food is always made with love not to mention they have an open kitchen to see the chefs at work. I think it adds a nice touch. Service is always great ! Shout out bartender Jack and Chef Lulu. I loved the place so much that I make it my business to come here often if not once a month once every two months only because I don’t live in NY. Now ! Although I love this place I would say a few minor changes won’t hurt . There is a young lady that greets you at the front counter ( a brown skin female ) as soon as you walk in and arrive to the front desk . She could be a lot more welcoming to new and curious customers that walk in and also to the familiar faces that already enjoy coming there. A smile , welcoming body language and a warm tone of voice makes all the difference . The music selection is cool in the bar upstairs however the music in the main dining area on the main floor could use a more variety of music or more of an upbeat tone to accommodate different backgrounds of customers that come to experience Great Jones . Finally your whiskey is top tier It speaks for itself !!!Love love love it here at Great Jones !Sept 2, 2023We are here again at one of our favorite restaurants . This time we came to celebrate one of our close friends birthday and enjoy the speakeasy by Basquiat .When we arrived we saw our favorite bartenders Jack , Mia and now Spencer !The manager or the bar Collin also thanked us for coming and being regulars at Great Jones . After the speak easy we went upstairs on the main floor to enjoy dinner and cake to celebrate our friend on her birthday . Chef Lulu came over to greet us, thank us for returning as wish our friend a happy birthday . The night was amazing until we noticed to floor manager Monica (the dark skin lady mentioned above ) followed us from the speak easy to the main floor. She grilled us thee entire time. By this time it’s late night, there was only one other party besides us whom was seated on the opposite side of the resturant at a distance of course and after we paid the bill, we noticed she charged us for the complimentary birthday cake. Not only did she make us feel uncomfortable but we no longer feel welcomed at a place we once enjoyed. As Monica is a manger I’m sure she read my review that I posted prior . Today would have been the perfect opportunity for her to make things right by simply speaking us and apologize for her behavior even if it wasn’t intentional . Instead she proved me right about her unwelcoming behavior and I believe she is a poor representation to the fairly new Resturant Great Jones Distillery . -

Whiskey Wonderland was fantastic although I wish I could have ordered from the main restaurant menu as well so I didnt have to go elsewhere for dinner after. Really enjoyed the ambiance though. I will probably be back next year again. Would recommend. The Smoked Manhattan was amazing, the Hot Chocolate was a fantastic presentation but overall was too strong for my wife to actually drink and enjoy. -

Wow this place was incredible! We went for my wife’s birthday and where wined and dined by the staff. The food was incredible. Randi the sous chef treated us with a special dish which was a wonderful surprise and Tanner was an incredible waiter. We had the 4 whiskey flight. Which was so delicious and fun to try their whiskeys. Our appetizers and dinner where amazing. Short ribs where divine and so good. All in all so pleased we went here for a birthday celebration. We were treated with such incredible service and food was perfect. We have no complaints and highly recommend you to go. We went on a Thursday evening and it was quiet and mellow night. Such a treat! We will be back again and suggest others to go! What a gem! -

Great Jones was incredible! Friday night date night brought us over from Jersey City, Great Jones is an easy Path ride and walk.We had reservations for the Winter Wonderland Speakeasy, but had a drink at the bar first. The Sphinx was a great starter and the way the bourbon and pineapple mix were stunning! Our reservation was at 7:30 and we took a ride down the elevator and into the Winter Wonderland. It was amazing, super intimate, relaxing, hard to believe we were smack dab in the largest city in the US.The Gingerbread cocktail was a must and comes with a little gingerbread man to dip. Their whiskey flight is a great way to center yourself on their 4 flagship whiskeys (heavily recommend the Rye). To close it out, enjoyed the Krampus drink which was a magnificent twist on a hot toddy.Last, we had some corn dogs…they brought back my childhood.Absolutely loved our night at Great Jones, so cool, so inviting, just a must. -

Went for the tasting and tour. Had a drink at the upstairs bar. Great bartender. Then on to the tour with Bobby who did a fantastic job explaining the process of making their whiskey. The Great Jones Whiskey is very good. We really enjoyed the tasting. -

My wife booked a FREE tour and tasting for us and a few friends. The tour was awesome, the guide Drew was great. I would highly recommend checking this place out. Looking forward to when they open up their speakeasy bar in the basement. -

I’d like to extend a warm thank you to Bobby simply for who he is as a person! He was our guide. He has such witty and great personality, was extremely knowledgeable and really fun to hang with! He was patient, articulate and professional throughout the entire process. I’ve been on 2 other distillery tours; Nashville and Utah, but I feel I learned the most here in Manhattan because of Bobby. We’re grateful for your time and service and hope to return with more people some day!As for the quality of Great Jones products, we purchased the Four grain, Rye and a Jean Michel Basquiat. In other words it was really smooth, full bodies quality whiskey with different scented notes and paired wonderfully well with the small bites we had. Amazing! -

Really unexpectedly good experience!Perfect food, we had burrata, oysters, aged New York strip steak and lamb. Everything was great. Desserts were ok, we have tried baked Alaska and warm chocolate cookie. Too sweet for my taste.Really nice cocktails, pretty fast and friendly service.Apple jack bourbon was awesome too!Definitely recommend. -

I took my husband here for our 24 year anniversary. He loves whiskey varieties, and I wanted him to experience the flights they had for brunch. He loved the different flavors and the ambience of the atmosphere. We had the ribs for brunch. So much food to enjoy the portions were shareable . Cocktails were on point; and he loved the art, bar area and store to make purchases. We highly recommend this is establishment for whiskey lovers. We definitely will be back. He has already shared with his friends pictures from our brunch. They are their planning Distinguished Gentlemans Night. -
Review 34 (2024-02-19 - Rating: 5)
10/10 establishment! Their whiskey is absolutely incredible, highly recommend ordering their tasting set to really experience all their flavor profiles they offer within their bourbons and ryes. Their food was equally just as delicious! Do yourself a favor and order their applewood smoked old fashioned and braised short ribs. Every bite and sip transported me to the happiest place! Couldn’t recommend it more and cannot wait to return! -

We just did the tour which included a tasting. Our guide Omar was really fun and taught us a lot about the process of making bourbon. We really enjoyed the tasting as well. At the end you have the option to purchase a bottle of your choice with a $10 discount. If you are in the area I highly recommend stopping by! -

This place hits all the right notes. A phenomenal atmosphere, great alcohol, and amazing food. I didnt expect this place to be this good. My only gripe is that I wish it had better acoustics for the band. -

Zeppa made it amazing. She was fun, engaging and if she could be at every tour I visit, I’d choose her. She helped us taste the drinks the right way. I’ll be choosing your Rye every time.We reserved seats for dinner after the tour. The food was the right serving amount and tasted delicious. I’d only suggest a complimentary basket of some type of bite to start if you going to price the food that way.We slept like babies last night. Thank you Great Jones -
Review 38 (2024-07-21 - Rating: 4)
Our tour tasting guide was very knowledgeable, with a great sense of humor and he made the experience fun. I believe it helped because he had a British accent. The decor is lovely, the histpry of the building is so ineresting, the tasting room is very cool and the speaking easy room is fantastic. Most importantly, the whiskey is really good too. After the tour, we ate in the dining room. The food is really good. The cocktail options all sounded delicious making it hard to choose. It was an enjoyable experience. -

Review 41 (2021-09-20 - Rating: 4)
We signed up for the one-hour distillery tour and tasting and then enjoyed some great Manhattans and Plates at the 2nd floor bar. We also made reservations for dinner at their soon-to-open restaurant.Heres what worked for me: their Manhattan cocktails are excellent and are served in those Nick & Nora glasses which I love. Our bartender (Jamie) was terrific. They also make a good-looking and very instagrammable Old Fashioned flamed with cedar wood. The bar food, likewise, is quite good. We had some superb cheeses, the spinach and artichoke dip with black truffle, the baked squash (excellent), the burger, and for dessert the chocolate chip cookie and the baked alaska. its a bit pricey but a good experience. Regarding the distillery tour, I have some doubts about its authenticity. The distillery, btw, is owned by the family that brings us Cuervo tequila and I may be totally wrong about this but I doubt too much bourbon or rye is actually made on-premise. Its all a bit Disney-esque but still worth checking out. -
Review 42 (2023-06-04 - Rating: 4)
A classic menu with great accompaniment of whiskey. Out of the 3 courses actually enjoyed the toffey pudding the most. Lamb was ok, mushroom soup smooth, but nothing stands out. The whiskey flight was excellent. Servers were quick and attentive while not too imposing. Need to go again to try rissotto and maybe baked alaska. No baked alaska on the menu, tried the full dinner, desserts are actually very affordable. Tried many cocktails including smokey old fashioned and delicious mocktail. Lamb porterhouse tender and with nice sauce and bean underneath. Most of the other entrees are great though the duck and tuna looked so lonely on the plate, no garnish, spoon smear of puree or mini veggies. Also the cast iron plates for apps were room temp instead of warm or hot.Friday night was very empty, only my table, a 6,4 top and 3 couple the whole time we were there. Service was still tip top shape. -

The bar on the second floor was just what we needed. It wasn’t too crowded and we got a table and drinks right away. The mixologist knew how to make a girl happy with these 🥃The service was amazing and the staff was very pleasant. Next trip to NYC this place is a MUST including the whiskey tour 🥃🥃 -

Thank you for letting me experience what it is like to be you. It was very fun~With that being said, back to business. In regard to The Great Jones Distillery.I was impressed with how we were greeted at the door, both the staff and Felicity (who you were in contact with) were very accommodating and helpful.Once the tour started, Ariana our tour guide was amazing. Not only was she entertaining she told us fun facts and history about the said distillery. (I will send you the pictures I took) Even though it is a small distillery (due to a ton of NYS laws) it gave a art deco feel. Like you dropped into the 1920s!Once the tour of the distillery was over, we then went to the whiskey tasting. We tried 3 different whiskeys, Straight Bourbon, Four Grain Bourbon and Rye.Ariana led us through the tasting with laughs and great conversation. My personal favorite was the rye and four grain bourbon.Once our tasting was done, she led us into the speakeasy which is used for special events and drink making classes. After the tour and tasting finished. Jonathan and I took advantage of the dinner options there, the meal was great. Full of fresh American classics, I didnt see any vegan or vegetarian options. We had the burrata along with a green salad. Both excellent and fresh. We both had the steak frites, the steak was cooked well, and the fries were meaty. It was a very filling meal. We also tried a whiskey that we hadnt had on our tour, it was in honor of Jean Basquiat. The whiskey itself was aged in wine barrels. At the end of it all, Great Jones gave us a wonderful experience and I look forward to going back again. Now for some details:They have a second-floor bar that serves cocktails, it quite small enough for 30-40 people comfortably. Definitely a huge hit with businessmen looking for a nice drink. The dining hall had seating for about 80 guests, low lighting but well decorated to still fit with the 1920s art deco.Bathrooms are unisex with full coverage doors to offer privacy. They are disability friendly, they had elevators and ramps. They also had a gift shop with gifts ranging from $40 to $188.Again, thank you for the wonderful experience. I look forward to more amazing adventures!! -

Went for a tour of the distillery with my significant other and being whiskey amateurs we weren’t sure what to expect but the staff made us feel very welcome and the tour guide was very friendly. Also, the whiskey tasting itself was very informative and fun. Might come back to snag another bottle of Four Grain Bourbon. -

My friend and I went on their Distillery Tour for their $3 Three-Year Anniversary special. The space was very sleek and modern, with a restaurant on the first floor and a bar on the second. The tour was super informative. We were able to see where the whiskey was made and even go down to the cellar for a whiskey tasting! Our tour guide Mikael was clearly very knowledgeable while also being very personable and very engaging. Im not a huge whiskey drinker but Ive definitely developed a greater appreciation for it after this experience! -

I really enjoyed this place for a boozy weekend brunch. The space is really nice and the cocktails we tried were awesome, as one would hope from a place looking to showcase their house distilled spirits. The brunch options were also really nice - I went with a nice twist on eggs benny, made with short rib and it was delicious! All that and I picked up a bottle of their bourbon, which they offer for $10 off if you dine there. I’ll be back! -

Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. The food is unbelievably good and the drinks are top notch, as is to be expected. I originally came here for a work dinner and was sat in the private speakeasy room in the basement; came back for brunch and it was just as good as Id bragged to my friends about. They were not disappointed.Highly highly recommend the short rib benedict for brunch -- we also ordered the chicken & waffles which were excellent, but the short rib is next level, melt-in-your-mouth deliciousness. Obsessed with this place at this point, honestly. -

I usually bring my friends to this place if they let me pick the restaurant. The food is super good my favorite is the lamb. They cook it very well and juicy. The cocktails are awesome. Service is very good Justin served our party this time. He was very nice. I don’t have any photos of the food cause when its served I just dig in HAHA. Everything was perfect. -

Only went to the upstairs bar, but it was great. Super friendly bartender who made the best mocktail I have ever drank and awesome/classy set up/ambiance where you can see right into the distilling room. Cocktails were pricey but the actual bottles they had for sale that you could purchase and take home seemed reasonably priced. -

Also I enjoyed mu tasting time with him, because he let me know how to really enjoy good whiskeys. Hope many other people can enjoy this fun experience in NY. -

We went on a tour of the distillery and had a great time! The tour guide was great, I learned a lot, and the building is beautiful. At the end of the tour you do a whisky tasting in their speakeasy which is fun! I am not a big whisky fan but they did a great job of explaining how to taste, and in the end I actually was enjoying the whisky.I took my family who was visiting from out of town, this is a great place to take you friends and family who are visiting from out of town! -

Stopped in for a quick sampling. Very nicely designed entrance and bar. Didnt have a chance to see everything they had but tried samples of their straight bourbon, 4 grain bourbon and rye whiskey. The straight bourbon was very smooth as was the 4 grain. I ended buying a bottle of the straight bourbon. Didnt try any of the food but will be back sometime to spend more time there -

Food was very well done. We had the pasta and salmon. Very tasty. Drinks were perfect since they distill their own bourbon. Had the 3 flight and really liked the rye and I am not a rye drinker. Took home a bottle of it because I liked it so much. Service was first class. You have to try to guess what the lights are on the map of Manhattan. Hint. Mostly things that aren’t there anymore. -

What a great find! Especially their happy hour menu. Where can you find a perfect Rye Manhattan for $11. And oysters for $1. The trick is to get there before 6pm. Love the ambiance of the place... upstairs, downstairs. Something for everyone. I only had the oysters so I cannot say anything about the food. Trust me, Ive had bad oysters and this was really nice. for the price! Ill be back. -

Great Jones Distillery is one of my favorite places in NYC. From the incredible menu at The Restaurant to the uniqueness of the tour, this is a place you can pop into on a rainy day or make a reservation for a special occasion. There is nothing else like it in the City. The food and drinks speak for themselves and the staff is kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about the brand. -

We recently visited Great Jones for a distillery tour and tasting flight. Our experience was AMAZING. The tour was in depth and informative yet not too long and kept people very interested. The tasting was of course, amazing as well. Definitely be sure to check out the merch and the restaurant after as well (the spinach artichoke dip is to die for!!). However, what really made our experience well worth it was our tour guide Woody. I have never met someone so engaging and passionate and friendly. Woody made all of the guests not just feel like visitors but truly friends that were enjoying a drink together. He is hilarious and talented and I am in awe of his talent and charisma. Thank you Woody for making our experience one we will remember for a long, long time. -

A gem and genuine (gemunine?😊). On the tour I know more abt 18th century NY farming, Prohibition, the distillery practice and its US/NY history (he gave madd shout outs to the team!), and of course the tastings class was excellent, we learned a lot...6 of us! Thank you SO much for a great time well recommend, and well be back 🦾. -

Great place for brunch. Cool jazz fuels a mellow weekend mood while tasty food fills your hunger. Bourbon is deep and mellow befitting the name of the place. Monkey bread comes hot and crusty with airy light insides and lots of whipped butter. Sticky toffee pudding is not a winner, not very sweet and full of nuts. Come here trounce away the weekend with good food and friends. -

Compliments to the chef! We came for canapés and cocktails (which was amazing). My wife though doesnt eat red meat, so couldnt eat the entree portion. So I asked our server if we could order something off of the menu, and they decided to give us an entree half off! What they recommended, the vegetarian bolognese was incredible! My wife loved it. On top of all that we ordered the duck to go, and staff had it prepared and ordered shortly after pur whole meal. The way the staff went above and beyond, and the way that the food is always superb - this is now a go to place for us! We look forward to coming back! -

My original reservation was cancelled last minute but management was kind enough to rebook us in another floor for a live Jazz show with cocktails and food complimentary for us. We were very happy and enjoyed that nights experience. I will recommend going back even paying for full! -

Had a great experience here last week as part of NY restaurant week. Staff and service all excellent. The whiskey flight was such a treat. My husband has mine. Starters of buratta and croquettes both great. Veggie main and steak/ chips both generous portions and good. Dessert was excellent. Best sticky toffee pudding I’ve had and I’m a baker from England - it was better than mine. Can highly recommend. Their bar upstairs is fab too but we didn’t go on this occasion as I’m 8.5 months pregnant. Defo one of my fav places in NY and a bargain at $110 for 2 people with tax and tip. -

My review is based on a tour we took of the facility and let me tell you, from start to finish it was an amazing experience. We were greeted by a very accommodating front desk, followed by our tour guide. Ours was Drew and he was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and well spoken. The facility itself is absolutely stunning with a speakeasy, restaurant, bar and obviously distillery. I highly recommend this tour and definitely opt for the tasting as well as it will give you an opportunity to sample three of their common Whiskeys. -

We went to Great Jones on Sunday, June 11th not for the bar or restaurant, but for the distillery tour and tasting. We were super-satisfied with our experience and next time we’re in Manhattan, we’ll go back for the other parts.First off, the place is beautifully decorated, and every vista is artwork—a true feast for the eyes. Our tour leader and tasting expert was Jonathon and he couldn’t have been more knowledgeable, fun, entertaining and pleasant all-around. Perhaps because of our timing, we had a private tour/tasting with him and so we were delighted and felt especially fortunate. The tasting included 2 bourbons and a whiskey. I dont happen to drink either of these beverages but I enjoyed the experience and was intrigued by the distillery equipment and process. Whereas my husband, whos highly knowlegeable about bourbon and whiskeys, learned quite a bit so thats saying something. You can buy bottles as you leave and suffice to say, we did not leave empty-handed.Not sure our comments or photos would add anything extra to what others have posted. We’d simply recommend to go whether you’re a) bourbon lovers b) not bourbon lovers c) interested in seeing a working distillery in the heart of NYC d) looking to have a pleasant and unexpected time or e) seasoned visitors to this city and looking for something a little off the beaten path. Thanks again to Jonathon. We had a great time. -

This meal was excellent! I had the burger and my husband had the seared tuna but the real stars were the sides! The Mac & cheese, and the Brussels sprouts w/ strawberry simmer sauce (or maybe it was glaze?) we’re both to die for. Oh and don’t even get me started on the desserts! Definitely save room for the PB&Zhariff sundae… you won’t regret it. If you can, when you reserve your table, sit at the chef’s counter! It’s fun to watch them prepare and plate all the food. -

My husband and I were in NYC last week for a mini getaway and stopped in at GJDC for dinner at the Grid. It was incredible. We really enjoyed the experience and even had an opportunity to speak with the chef on our way out of the restaurant. We started with the chilled gazpacho.... it was amazing! We paired that with the East Coast Oysters. I had steak frites. We each had a flight of four whiskeys and then to cap off the evening, went upstairs to the distillery. The entire experience was beyond incredible. The only observation (and it is not a complaint) was that front of the house managers were very serious.....almost too serious. The restaurant is beautiful, the aesthetics warm and inviting. Given that the restaurant is so closely partnered with the distillery upstairs (which was really fun), it would be great if the FOTH managers in the restaurant had a slightly more relaxed demeanor. Our server(s) were both fantastic, well versed in the menu, cocktails, wines and whiskeys. We will definitely be back on our next visit to NYC.Cheers! -

The staff, the food, the ambiance, the drinks -- were all amazing!! And the tour plus bourbon and bites with guide, Mikael, was fantastic, informative, tasty. Mikael is one of the best guides I have ever experienced a tour with. Mikael was professional, knowledgeable, and personable. Of course, my partner and I made sure to not leave Great Jones before buying a bottle of straight bourbon. It was our first time visiting, dining and touring at Great Jones, and we will definitely return. My partner and I are going to recommend Great Jones to our families and friends. Simple yet classy interior, with good food and drinks! Went for restaurant week and ordered the salad, burrata, lamb & halibut with a flight of whiskey each. All were delicious though nothing mind-blowing. We ended our meal with the sticky toffee pudding which was indulgent and beautiful! Service was also top notch, waiter was attentive plus unexpectedly brought out a scrumptious birthday treat with a candle for my partner. Cocktails albeit expensive were refreshing and special. 10/10 experience! -

This is a long overdue review but we had asked our friends to meet us at Great Jones for drinks to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday and we ended up having about 20 people stop by at the bar that night. It was definitely more people than we anticipated and I’m sure it would have overwhelmed or annoyed most people but everyone at Great Jones could not have been more kind and accommodating! I believe our bartender/server was Kevin and he was absolutely amazing. He always made sure the birthday boy had a drink in his hand and had great suggestions for cocktails for all our friends. The birthday was a success because of the people at Great Jones! In fact, not only is their cocktail and food program amazing, the decor and atmosphere was cozy and sexy at the same time. Can’t wait to visit again - with a much smaller group! -

My work team (8 people) recently decided to have our 1-day off-site at Great Jones! We first spent a few hours meeting in their Speakeasy space. The room was rustic and authentically decorated. It is important to note that you very often hear the subway and the room rattles a bit - exciting but not the best atmosphere when you’re hosting important meetings. We then went on a brief tour of the distillery. Our tour guide was fantastic! Wonderful energy and knowledge. Lastly, we enjoyed dinner at the restaurant. The quality of food was a bit disappointing and the service was mediocre but the drinks were phenomenal! -

First, the service is like no other Ive encountered! Bravo to the staff! The tour was excellent! Will was informative, with humor and made for an all around terrific experience! The food! My goodness!!! This was not a burger; this was a delightful culinary unbelievable explosion in your mouth! The porcini mushroom soup was delicious!!!! As for the bread that accompanied the soup, I may just order a huge basket of it the next time as my dinner! The warm brownie and ice cream took it all home! The staff behind the open kitchen was cooking all night with smiles on their faces. Incredibly friendly. Congratulations on a fabulous concept and a well run dinner experience! I cant wait to be there again and again and again! -

Let me start by saying the food was AMAZING. Hands down probably one of the best meals I’ve had, and I the service was amazing. I went for restaurant week but will gladly be coming back here. We got the whiskey flight, and for someone who is indifferent with whiskey I actually enjoyed them. For food I started with the burrata which was creamy and delightful with the accompanied slice of bread. For our mains we got the Lamb porterhouse, which was small in size but filled with flavor. Finally we ended with the toffy and ice cream which the server kindly put a candle on for a birthday surprise. I’m going to be thinking of this meal for a long time after today. -

A couple of things to get out of the way up front - I love this place, and it will be in my regular rotation for fine dining in the future. Secondly, theres no getting around the fact that it is expensive even by Manhattan standards. But, heres the thing. It is expensive but excellent, and the management has an obvious commitment to consistency that shines through every step of your visit. After enjoying our cocktails which were made with the bourbon produced onsite, we enjoyed a platter of a dozen perfect oysters, garnished with tiny briny pops of trout caviar, then a large bowl of spicy gazpacho alongside a bruschetta that I wanted to marry and take home with me. Finally, a luscious and meaty potato-crusted halibut served on a bed of rich Manhattan style clam chowder. I had to leave a quick word with the chef that I had not encountered such unapologetically strong and aggressive flavors in a fine dining meal in Manhattan in many years. After dinner we ascended the stairs to the gorgeous and intimate cocktail lounge for a couple more drinks, mine was the Black Manhattan. From the start to the end of our visit, service was gracious and warm, even after an unexpected shift change caused our original server to be replaced, no one missed a beat. -

We visited this place for the Great Jones Distilling cocktail tour. The atmosphere was amazing, and their tour was interesting. They’ve found an opening underground tunnel and explained on the usage of the tunnel, along with the machine that they use to create the Great Jones whiskey. Although I did not get a chance to experience their cocktail, but coming back for more. They also have a speakeasy on the basement level, but currently it is only open for private events at the moment. -

We went for the tour and the tasting. The tour was good, we learn lots of the stories of bourbon and the guide was nice. The place is amazing! The place is own by one of Jose Cuervo son’s. If you like whiskey come to the speakeasy and order the whiskey samples. I loved the rye bourbon.then we went for some drinks at the speakeasy on the second floor. Try the smoked old fashioned. I arrived on a late Sunday night in search of a good last-minute event to wrap up my weekend. I was the only one in the bar area. I had a flight of their whiskey options, each of which were good in their own way. They also make a good Manhattan. It was actually a really good time to be able to relax with the bartender and company. They gave me some seasoned popcorn too. It was a great way to close out the weekend. -

We took a tour of the facility with Bobby. He was sooo great. Very personable, informative, and funny! He was able to share recommendations and share upcoming events. The waitress in the dining area had great enthusiasm. The food menu is concise, but a little pricey for the value. The oysters were fresh. Steak was just ok. Dessert was yummy. I prob would not return for food, but will return for cocktails and offered experiences. If the tour was offered with a spooky theme that could be very fitting for the basement speakeasy! Excited to see what other offerings come from this venue. -

My wife is a huge fan of bourbons and we were directed to Great Jones Distilling by friends who have been before. We loved it! Try the small plates paired with a tasting flight...cant go wrong! We bought several bottles, both for ourselves and as gifts... -

Went here with my husband on a Saturday afternoon after some friends had gone and had the best time! Gorgeous decor and ambiance with an old New York feel, fun crowd gave it a nice buzz, and top notch cocktails (loved the agave straws!) But what really took us by surprise was THE FOOD! Absolutely delicious. The pastry chef, I believe her name is Jessica, came out to say hello. She makes the croissants and pull apart buns daily and they are mouthwatering with their special butter. Highly recommend the lobster roll (best I’ve ever had), burger (the bun is to die for), and the squash. Looking forward to trying their restaurant when it’s open! -

Most people might not come here for the salad but I must say the Cesar Salad is memorable. The Whiskey is great. We bought a bottle of Four Grain Straight Bourbon Whisky - I highly recommend it. -

So glad wife and I booked this tour. Woody was a great guide and gave a lot of interesting info! The distillery is very nice and we both loved the speakeasy where we sampled the bourbons (all were very tasty). Will be back for more bottles next time we are in NYC. -

Did the distillery tour followed by a trip to the restaurant yesterday.Tour and tasting was absolutely excellent, couldn’t recommend it enough. Tour guide was lovely, incredibly knowledgeable and really personable. Whiskey was incredible too. Only thing I’d recommend is making 100ml minis so I can take them back on the flight!Food and service at the restaurant was lovely too. A hidden gem, and would thoroughly recommend. -

Take tour and tasting with Jonathan immediately. you will not regret it. This is an amazing experience for NYC locals or just visiting. And as a non-whisky drinker, I was amazed at how much I learned to help me enjoy the experience of whisky and bourbon. I learned a ton in general, thanks to Jonathans knowledge and eloquently (and humorously) answering my many questions. Also low key this is the best HH in Manhattan. I dont even want to tell you the deals cuz its so good that I want to keep it for myself 😂 -

Welcome to Manhattan‘s first legal distillery since Prohibition. Came here on a not-so-busy Sunday afternoon and was lucky enough to get a private tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable in all things whisky, everything about the building, and of course the company. It was a great time and capped it all off with a couple very delicious cocktails in the bar on the second floor. The whiskeys taste great and I highly recommend getting the smoky Old Fashioned. You won’t regret it. -

Incredibly impressive. Highly recommend for brunch. They have tours available. The artwork on the walls in the dining room is luring. I do not give 5 stars but if I were to give 5 stars this place would get it. -

Their Whiskey Wonderland was in the basement of the distillery in a small, cozy, and incredibly well decorated room. The Gingerbread Delight was phenomenal! The gingerbread cookie with it was a great touch. Definitely recommend coming here! -

Such a unique setting, and everything was fabulous during our visit - from the service the food to the cocktails. If you have some time try to book a tour of the working distillery prior to your meal and make sure to check out their whiskies that they make on-site. -

My partner and I came here for their distillery tour and just had a friggin blast. We learned so much about the space and how they make their whiskey. We also did a full tasting where we got to learn about how to open whiskey up in an intimate setting.Upstairs there is a lovely bar where the staff is more than happy to make drinks for you afterwards! -

Our tour guide, Drew, was detailed in his explanation of the distilling process and history of the company. The tasting portion of the tour was a surprise as I am an avid bourbon drinker. Great Jones puts out a very good product...witj both their bourbon and their rye. Looking forward to attending future events. -

Having gone once before for cocktails, I returned for the distillery tour and then dinner. All of this is so good and such an unexpected treat in the middle of Manhattan. As a bonus, it’s one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. Get the smoked old fashioned to go with it. -

My husband and I dined at GJD on Friday night for the third time and were truly delighted by the new menu additions and, as always, loved the cocktails. The food & service have markedly improved upon each visit. The applewood smoked bacon old fashion is a must-have and if you like something on the less smokey side, the Applejack Flip is refined and delicious. After drinks arrived, they perfectly timed the oysters which were topped with caviar and aioli - a delicate and unique presentation. This was followed by another inventive take on a crowd pleaser appetizer - burrata - which was mostly notably paired with crisp radicchio & capers (I think fried). Since were trying to cut the calories before summer, they split the lamb entree which was was very tasty albeit perhaps a little more chewy than we expected. We had the sticky toffee pudding which my husband proclaimed is one of the best hes ever had - and he knows his pudding!! -

Six stars. This distillery offers tours that are fun but the real Gem here is the space itself and the fabulous food inside. I had a chicken salad and a appleGalette with marzipan and spice (pictured). Michelin star things from Chef Josue and David at the bar is the Man.There are three Floors and a basement.Basement is a speakeasyGround is the restaurantSecond is the barThird is the banquet space.I cannot recommend this place enough. The staff is extremely friendlyThe food is insaneThe atmosphere is warm and steam punk ishThe place has a built in activity (tour)Update. I came back on Oct 5 2022 for lunch. The 2 course price fix menu was $31 and amazing. I had a burrata and grilled peach salad that was finished with crispy SerranoThe main course was halibut with a farro risotto and porcini mushroom.I added a mushroom velouté soup that was absolutely perfect on a rainy day.Amazing job by the culinary team -

Dinner at the Grid restaurant at Great Jones Distillery was just spectacular. The service from our waitress and bartender was thoughtful, cordial and informative. What a great crew they are. They are quite creative in how they infuse their alcohol into their cooking. All items in our meals were great including the Cornish hen, steak and salmon. The appetizers of the bacon and oysters were scrumptious. The cocktails were creative takes on traditional drinks as well as some unique creations. Their bourbon is smooth and the rye goes well in their Manhattan.Give this place a try. They are doing a great job after being open for only 6 weeks. I can’t wait until their speakeasy opens. -

This place is very different than I expected. Most distilleries I’ve been to have a more laid back vibe - but maybe that is the brilliance of this place, which feels like an upscale hotel bar from the 1930s. Good staff and a fun time, though I’ve had better wiskeys. -

I honestly wished i had more time to spend here as a distillery in this part of the city was needed for a long time. I would suggest anyone try the standard 3 pairing flight. Follow that up with an old fashioned and you wont be disappointed. I definitely will return to spend a little longer next time as i was in a hurry this time. -

One hundred years after the last whiskey distillery in Manhattan shut its doors, Great Jones Distilling Co. brings back this iconic spirit back to the Big Apple. Their home at 686 Broadway in the NoHo neighborhood of Manhattan is a monument to the rich culture of Prohibition-era New York, and a celebration of whiskey, past and present. You can go to their upstairs bar for a tasting flight consisting of their Straight Bourbon, Four Grain Bourbon, Rye, and an Apple Brandy from Black Dirt Distillery up in Pine Island, NY. Ask for a dropper bottle for those that want to add a few drops of water to their whiskey. They also have complementary popcorn available that you can ask for. -

Great Sunday brunch and jazz duo. The food was well prepared and expertly served, with decent bar service. The shrimp and grits were well grilled with a subtle pepper sauce, whilst the steak frites had a wonderful au poivre sauce. While not the bourbon trail, there were a couple of intriguing offerings from the distillery.
