    The Haymaker is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming, stylish, and laid-back. The drinks were perfectly crafted, and the bar menu offered something for everyone. What really set the experience apart was meeting one of the owners, Louie. She was incredibly cool and made us feel right at home, sharing stories and adding a personal touch to our visit. Its clear she’s passionate about creating a great experience for everyone who walks through the door. If youre looking for a spot with excellent vibes, amazing drinks, and fantastic people, The Haymaker is a must-visit!

    Honestly this is our go to bar in NYC! Everytime we are in town we come to Haymkerbar and Kitchen. We have been coming here for 6 years now…the drinks, the staff, the food and the atmosphere never disappoint. Today was our 1st day in the city and headed straight there after a full day of walking the city!! We are here for another 5 days and will be stopping in several more times. Had the popcorn chicken appetizer with dipping sauces, excellent. Try the spicy pineapple margarita or a vodka martini and you won’t be disappointed. Good beers too!

    Stopped here before a hockey game and it was great a time! There was a great variety of non alcoholic drinks and they were very accommodating for food allergies/dietary needs in the group. The food was good, but didnt expect the mac & cheese and spinach & artichoke dip to be a bit spicy since it was in the description. Overall worth visiting!

    Made reservations for 6:30 on a Monday and was seated right away. Wasnt crowded and food came out in a timely manner along with our drinks.I got the popcorn chicken and it was delicious. Super crispy, juicy, and seasoned perfectly. Loved the scallions on top, should come with more! The 2 dipping sauces were also amazing.Also got French fries. It was good but could be a tad more crispy.The trap door and paper plane cocktails were delicious. Not too sweet and nice and boozy.Overall very happy with my experience. The waitress was super attentive in the beginning but then she kinda disappeared after our entrees came out and someone else ended up helping us out.

    Great place overall. Whether it be for lunch or a beer/wine/cocktail and a snack before the game or concert, there is a lively atmosphere here to fit your mood. It can get busy after 4PM, but can be a quiet place to hang out at lunch. Great beer and cocktail selection as well as an American food selection to fulfill an appetite.

    This place is a quintessential great beer bar. They source beers from great places that you dont normally find in the city (Trillium, Hudson Valley, Drowned Lands, Equilibrium, Maine Beer Co. Etc). Its pricey bc it should be for the quality they are providing.

    A friend and I stopped by last Friday evening. We were looking for a bite. WOW! The fries were fantastic! We were sharing an order, we placed another order. The Prosciutto Flatbread was delicious. We had cold beers, but the drink menu looks superb. The best part of the evening was the service. They seated us quickly, and our server made the evening! Courteous, friendly, knowledgeable and fun!! A terrific spot in Mid Town!! Check it out!!!

    I loved the classiness of the place without the trumped up prices. It was chill and relaxing.And Jimmy is the best! So personable, easygoing & makes sure you’re taken care of. Will be back when I come back again to NYC (from DC area). Location was a bit tucked off a busy Main st (tho idk NYC like that) but those are usually the best places to come across.     Outstanding tap list on any day I find myself near MSG, and always has a couple of Belgian beers very difficult to find anywhere else on tap. Plus, their cans and bottles are remarkably diverse. All this at quite reasonable prices, and with the option to get a smaller pour (on the drafts) without much of a price differential. The staff behind the bar knows the list, and on the slower evenings Ive visited, enjoy talking about beer. Its by far the best craft beer bar in the area.

    Servers we nice but once it got busy it took some time to get their attention. The hummus and chicken wings were great. The ribs were tender and seasoned but not exceptional. The chicken tacos were bland. Maybe that was a bad day for the tacos. Overall, Id visit again and try different foods on the menu.

    Haymaker Bar and Kitchen is our go-to spot in NYC, and we make sure to stop by every time were in town. For the past six years, it’s never failed to impress with its drinks, staff, food, and inviting atmosphere. After a long day of walking, we headed straight there on our first day in the city. With five more days to enjoy, we plan to visit several more times. The popcorn chicken appetizer with dipping sauces was fantastic. Definitely try the spicy pineapple margarita or a vodka martini—you wont regret it. The beer selection is top-notch as well!

    This place had a great atmosphere and vibe. The waitress was very friendly and was making jokes. They seated us quickly. The food came out quickly and it was very good and big portion sizes. I would definitely recommend this place to families or anyone wanting good food.

    Haymaker bar is a great local spot. I live in the building next-door. It’s got a great bar with plenty of stools bar side, but then also great booths. It has almost 2 different personalities. One during lunch and some happy hours during the week which is packed to the gills with young, tech type people from nearby Hudson yards. This can be fun if you’re in the mood to be packed in with a pretty loud crowd. Lunch can be a little tricky in terms of service and being able to have a conversation across the table because it can get super loud. Most of the time I go when it’s not packed and it’s a great experience. It’s more elevated in terms of the quality of food and environment. Then you would suspect just looking from the outside. we have a booth with several people weeknights and have great conversations with the people that work there behind the bar or the servers. They have a great selection of different beers to try that are always being rotated so you can try something new. I also have a full bar if you prefer a cocktail. I’ve dragged several people from my friend groups, uptown, and downtown and all have enjoyed it. It would be a great spot if you were headed to MSG for a show, but could be slammed too. Just depends what you’re in the mood for.

    This spot is awesome. Right next to the Holiday Inn Express we stayed at. The Brushetta toast was amazing. We also grabbed diner later that night. I git the Haymaker double with bacon & my wife got the chicken sandwich. Both were macked out in 10 min.

    This place has a great layout, good aesthetic, nice service, and really good food! we got the deviled eggs, chicken liver mousse, pork tacos, chicken satay, and fig and goat cheese flatbread. i’m a fan of tequila, so i appreciated the tequila cocktail options they had.- deviled eggs have a nice kick to them w the paprika.- chicken liver mousse were soooo good. it’s comes on a crostini. i wish there were more than 5 haha.- pork tacos were really tender and flavorful. i’m not a big taco orderer usually, but i could’ve eaten all 3!- chicken satay cooked perfectly and the sauce was yummy with it.- fig and goat cheese flatbread is a must!

    This was place is an oasis of calm on the weekends but can be a bit crazy busy with the after work crowd during the week. It’s a nice bar with large selection of local craft beers and one really nice cider on tap. Prices are a bit high. The portions of food you get are quite large and surprisingly not bad

    Dropped by here on our way to Penn station on a Sunday evening. It had a good atmosphere, the bar was busy but where we sat for food it was not too noisy. The food was delicious. We shared a mac n cheese, chicken pate and honey brussel sprouts between two. Servers were efficient and friendly.

    Great selection of odd ball craft brews that are of high quality. I had the Bells sour and tart that was good as expected from Bells but this brew is very hard to find. Food is okay but you are there to get some unique beers with some bar snacks.

    The bartender working there last Saturday night was awesome. Beard, didnt catch his name. There are a ton of options on tap, and I was certainly overwhelmed, not being a beer aficionado myself. I told him the types of beers I liked, he came back with a sample of something that was absolutely perfect. 5/7 would recommend (Okay, 10/10 would recommend). Obviously a bit pricey, but thats what living in NYC is all about.

    Others have commented on the staff being grumpy. Not sure I agree that this is always the case as I had and excellent experience. I do agree with others regarding the beer selection (great variety) and their wings (simply amazing). Might get a bit crowded and noisy when the Knicks are in town however I’ll be back.

    Just a short walk from the Megabus drop off, Haymaker was an excellent choice to grab a small bite and some drinks after arriving from DC. The atmosphere was lively and noisy, but thats what I was seeking. It was also not too fancy and not to weird. If you are seeking a large variety of mix drinks, Haymaker isnt the right spot. That would be my only negative. However, the bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and can offer something equivalent. Also, try the pickles even if youre not a pickle lover.

    Its hard to say if their constantly rotating selection of hard to find craft beer or their food is what defines this place but lets just say you cant go wrong heading to this casual but top notch quality place for either one or both.Its close by Penn Station for us train riders and concert goers. It can get pretty crowded due to the modest size. Reservations are suggested for meals.

    My buddies and I stopped here before a show at MSG and were totally blown away. Fantastic beer selection, great music, and killer food.     Made a reservation for two a few weeks before a comedy show at MSG, and everything worked out smoothly. Everyone else also seems to have the sameIdea because around 5pm, this place packedUp. The tables are very close to one another, so it feels like your eating with strangers, but again, it’s NYC and many of the restaurants are smaller. The service was good, our waitress was very friendly and attentive as can be once it started getting packed up. We got an order of wings to start, and for dinner a chicken dish and the Caesar salad. The food was flavorful, the prices and The portion sizes were in line for a restaurant in Manhattan. A nice convenient tow block walk from Madison Square Garden.

    Before I review the restaurant, here is some context for credibilitys sake...I have been living in Manhattan and now Brooklyn since 94. I cooked at Union Sq Cafe and wrote, directed and produced instructional cooking shows at Food Network in the aughts. Back I n the 90s, I was a Music News producer at VH1 during the Behind the Music era. My fam has also had season tix to the Knicks since 1980. So --- lover of the city, music, food and MSG.With that in mind, I can say unequivocally that my fave pre-game/pre-show MSG establishment is the freakin amazing Haymaker! You know when you hear someday say their dish is made with love? Well, thats the essence of Haymaker ... categorically (!) ... from the congenial bar and welcoming banquettes to the well-proportioned rear dining area. Even the bathrooms are spacious and clean! And that magical beer list? Clearly curated by someone who absolutely loves the craft. Speaking of craft, the best beer list in the city alone would suffice on its own merit, but the Haymakers cocktails are expertly made with precision and a dialed-in palate ... as is the focused menu which dabbles in a variety of both straightforward and global influences, each dish a people-pleaser. Yes, I am fawning because this place is the trifecta of value, location, and execution. On that last point, let me just say that the no-nonsense staff busts their collective butt. That team works with purpose, efficiency and a sense of urgency.I love this place so much and will never look elsewhere for pregame or other when I am in the vicinity. I see you Haymaker peeps, both front and back of house, and I appreciate you!
