Good food, wine and service. Although More known for their game, their salads are very nice, as are their fish dishes. If you sign up they send you a yearly free entree (actually $25 off) voucher to use around when your birthday is. -

So happy to have found this place. Excellent. Food, service, cute space... all excellent. The burger was easily one of the best Ive ever had, and I love burgers.I will 100% be back. -

Beyond happy and grateful I found this place. The food was exceptional, my drink was splendid! ( If you have the chance to visit get the margarita… still dreaming of it 🥰 ) I had the burger… SO SO GOOD!!Two regrets on my end… not getting a burger to-go and not asking the owners if they ship food all they way here to California!Being stranded for the holiday in Brooklyn had a silver lining because I stumbled across this wonderful restaurant and staff. They made me feel at home, like I was family. Thank you 🩷Many blessings to you all and happy holidays!( But seriously? Do you ship to California? 😁) -

My favorite brunch spot in Brooklyn Heights! The staff is so friendly, kind and make you feel at home. The food and drinks are excellent. I love the burger, egg torta, chicken sandwich, salad, grits….ok I love everything on the menu 😀. Don’t skip out on the fresh doughnut. -

Delicious meal on a Friday night. We got reservations on open table the day before. When we got there, it was crowded, but we were seated within 5 minutes. The service was top notch and food was great. We got the curry pea soup, yak stickers, West Indian shrimp (this was the only dish that was a bit disappointing because the shrimp was overcooked) and the rabbit tagliatelle. Finished it off with a great mud pie dessert! -

Walking past the signage caught my eye. Few places are true to their word when it comes to wild game on their menu, and fewer still actually offer any. Due to the pandemic we were seated outdoors, which was very pleasant as we werent on the street as most locales now are. It gave Henrys a bistro-like feel that was really welcomed. The tables, with the black chalk paint and the foam underneath to cushion knees was a nice touch. A simple artesanal bread selection to start with was well received. The clan chowder was flavorful and my spouse thoroughly enjoyed its flavors. We had an incredible experience with their pistachio crusted goat cheese salad that made our eyes roll back from the flavor explosion. The elk, prepared at the chefs suggestion was TO DIE FOR. Perfectly caramelized and tender, the hints of rosemary and no taste of gaminess, whatsoever. The staff is on point with the wine pairings and made the experience all the better. Come and enjoy 😉 -

First time visiting Brooklyn and stumbled upon this gem of a place while looking for brunch on a Saturday. Absolutely delicious food, great service, nice atmosphere. I had the Potato Latkes (with yummy caviar) and my partner had the Eggs Chesapeake. Both dishes were fantastic, beautifully prepared and nice portions. The owner was so kind & friendly -he had us try a lime glazed doughnut on the house. Very much recommend this eatery and will be returning to Henry’s End to try more items on the menu the next time we visit Brooklyn Heights. -

What a gem! While Henry’s isn’t much to look at — the small room is lined with exterior-style wood paneling and packed with no-frills seating and tables — the service, the food, and the wine are sublime!I was tempted by the Wild Game menu (featuring emu, elk, kangaroo, and more) but had arrived in the mood for seafood. I started with the bacon and corn chowder, which, while not much to look at, resting un-garnished in a shallow bowl, was absolutely delicious. It was seasoned beautifully and the slight sweetness of the corn and the rich smokiness of the bacon played perfectly together. Next I enjoyed the king salmon and mustard. It was cooked perfectly, a beautiful maillard sear on the exterior and a delicate medium rare in the center. The house blend of mustards added a delightful tang to the fish without masking its own flavor. The service was friendly and attentive, and clearly the staff were all veterans that knew their restaurant in and out.Perhaps the real gem was the wine list, with unexpected depth, including 1966 Haut Brion and other deep cuts from highly prestigious old world houses. I fished my meal with a 1958 Malvasia Madeira that exceeded anything a traditional dessert could have offered.I’ll definitely be back! -

Food and service is great! The location is a little cramped inside. Not too many tables to dine in. -
Review 10 (2021-04-20 - Rating: 5)
Perfect service at a Brooklyn heights staple. Usually has great daily specials and then the seasonal staples on their menu.Enjoyed the dumplings, crab cakes, Scottish salmon, and steak Diane at our table with dirty martinis. -
Review 11 (2024-01-07 - Rating: 5)
We were there for New Years Eve, and the entire experience was outstanding. My son and I thought the Duck was perhaps the best weve had. We were greeted warmly and made to feel at home. The service (Albert) was excellent. The wine selections paired with the meal were excellent as well. This coming year will be my 40th coming here, and no one is ever disappointed. The food is always exceptionally well-prepared and unique. I have especially liked the mushrooms, the turtle soup, and the game menu--everything, actually. This is one of our favorite restaurants. -
Review 12 (2023-10-29 - Rating: 4)
Decent spot but a little underwhelming. Started off really well with a terrific focaccia w/ great olive oil. We got a shrimp appetizer which was also really nice. The entrees didnt really deliver, however. The chicken dish was way too sweet and the salmon needed some more seasoning. Staff was really nice and provided good service. -
Review 13 (2022-01-08 - Rating: 5)
Absolutely amazing food served in a cozy setting with great ambiance. The staff was courteous and attentive.I highly recommend the Persian Lime Pie for dessert. Tart, sweet, and creamy custard over a crumbly, buttery crust. -

I have been eating at Henry’s End for many years and it’s one of my favorite places in Brooklyn Heights. I come for Brunch, lunch and dinner often - the food is excellent and the staff is friendly and I always enjoy the vibes. I love that at brunch they have a new donut they fresh make every day. For brunch I love the French toast and the Egg Torta, and the fried chicken sandwich is delicious too. I love the unique dinners, different types of game like duck and elk chops and other dishes you don’t see anywhere else. This place is family owned and has been in the neighborhood for years, I see some people are leaving 1 star reviews who have never been here and I am someone who has and I truly have always enjoyed my experiences here and would recommend to anyone else -

Nice place to have an intimate dinner and enjoy good food. I enjoyed my choices: veal and beer. -
Review 16 (2023-11-25 - Rating: 5)
This is my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn heights. It’s consistently phenomenal and the staff are truly wonderful. We took my boyfriend’s cousin who is a sommelier and chef, and he was BLOWN away by the food and wine. We had not been able to impress him with a restaurant choice until we took him to Henry’s End. I also love their sister restaurant, Fifty Henry, right down the street. -
Review 17 (2023-06-25 - Rating: 5)
I’ve never been to Henry’s End before when visiting Brooklyn, but I very much hope I will again. The atmosphere was wonderful, clearly a restaurant and team loved by local regular visitors. The staff were great and the menu extensive. I had Veal Lemonese, which was superb, and Apple Cobbler, which was like a warm hug of a dish. All my colleagues were equally impressed with their dishes. Highly recommended. -
Review 18 (2024-02-17 - Rating: 5)
Consistently delicious food with meat centric menu and amazing service. They are famous for their game dishes and my antelope steak with potato gratin was 10/10! The red snapper was also great - nicely flaky and well seasoned.Though it is definitely a place to try all those exotic meats like elk chops, bison, boar end even a turtle soup. They have great wine selection. I was impressed you can get a glass of 1970 Medoc Bordeaux for $25 only - in most places youd have to splurge for a bottle. The grilled vegetables with polenta and mushrooms salad were perfect apps and also above expectations.Try not to get stuffed on the fluffy bread in the very beginning! The ambiance is very casual, though it could easily be a place for a special occasion. They are pretty full every day, so definitely make a reservation at least 3-4 days in advance. -

Review 23 (2023-09-11 - Rating: 4)
Great spot if you’re hanging around in Dumbo! Quality food that feels like someone’s parent made it for you from scratch at home. Good choice if you’re traveling solo and looking for a bar meal for one (thanks Andrew)! Lots of options on entrees and definitely pair up with a side or starter for a full meal! Cheers! -
Review 24 (2024-10-31 - Rating: 5)
I live in the neighborhood but have always walked-by Henrys End in favor of 50 Henry/Jules. This restaurant is outstanding. The wine list is spectacular. Loved the service. Interesting and fun wild game dishes as well. I have the Veal Scallopine ... amazing. -
Review 25 (2023-11-24 - Rating: 5)
I’m not going to put a bad review on the stars. But I will comment on this. I read the owner comment on it’s a busy day employees have a right to make money and send people away. The staff said they were full not that they are only accommodating groups. I have severe anxiety from my time in the army. I tend to go out by myself a lot. I am married and have kids. My alone time is what I like. If this happened to me like her and she heard the host say we have space, I’d cry and self isolate for a long time. I also like to spend a lot of my money. It makes me happy. I tend to spend more alone than with my husband at a restaurant. I get a lot and then I take it home. I’ve been in groups and they don’t always tip. I rather serve someone by themselves than a whole group. Also, think about it. Why would someone be alone on a holiday. Be kind be empathetic. I hope this business takes this lesson and grows from it. -
Review 26 (2023-11-25 - Rating: 5)
A 10 minute walk from Dumbo’s tourist traps is this absolute gem of a restaurant — world class wine list, rotating selection of regionally sourced chops, and the perfect martini to cap of a long day of walking around the city. If you find yourself in Brooklyn Heights for dinner, this is where you want to be. -
Review 27 (2023-09-04 - Rating: 5)
My favorite hidden gem in Brooklyn Heights! Amazing food, especially the walnut crusted chicken with pears. Wine list is great, and desserts are even better! -
Review 28 (2023-04-23 - Rating: 4)
Unpretentious, small restaurant that delivers surprisingly good and inventive food. Portions are well sized as well; I left stuffed. Vegetarian and meat options. Food was tasty and light which is what I was looking for tonight (I got vegetarian options). Quick but unfussy service.Deducting a star for outdoor seating that could definitely use some sprucing up. Interior features very tightly packed seating so come prepared but its a nice atmosphere without loud music which makes it a lovely place to have a conversation.Interior seating was completely full at 6:00 pm on a cool, windy Saturday night. -
Review 29 (2023-11-24 - Rating: 5)
Always a great experience dining here. You can tell a lot of thought (and love!) goes into their food. It’s truly a neighborhood staple. -
Review 30 (2016-11-23 - Rating: 4)
Great Customer Service and great Shef I love their beef stake also the place its very cozy but a little bit too dark, not a crazy level of noise. Go for it! -

Review 32 (2018-06-25 - Rating: 5)
Unique dining experience with someunusual choices (kangaroo, ostrich), all expertly prepared. Efficient use of a small, crowded space. Amazing how many different menu choices can come out of such a tiny kitchen. Great wine list. Friendly atmosphere. Go!!! -
Review 33 (2022-11-13 - Rating: 5)
Wonderful experience! The game dinner was well-prepared and varied. The cocktail menu had lots of tempting offerings. The service was top-notch. I look forward to returning. -
Review 34 (2018-10-12 - Rating: 4)
The food here is very good, service here is excellent as well... definitely need to make a reservation here dont walk in and expect to be seated right away without one. My gripes, as good as the food was and this is me being picky, the duck was a bit dry in the middle portions. The thicker part was dried out a bit but the thinner pieces was tasty and perfect. The pricing at this restaurant is super expensive and even though I know Im in the expensive neighborhoods of BK I still thought it was a bit overpriced. -
Review 35 (2018-10-25 - Rating: 5)
Probably one of the best Steaks Ive had in Brooklyn. Its not much from the outside, and really easy to walk by ... but a coworker suggested we stop here and glad we did. And if you enjoy a good drink, go for the jalapeno margarita. Overall, great place, highly recommended and looking forward to going there again! -
Review 36 (2022-12-03 - Rating: 5)
Such a great hidden gem of a restaurant! One of a few spots that offers most of their menu as small plates or large portions, which allows you to try a bunch of items! We ordered the lobster penne, shrimp with sausage, rabbit tagliatelle, and the NY Strip with apple chutney. The lobster penne and steak with apple chutney were my top two, but everything was really delicious. They also started us with bread and olive oil - I could have eaten an entire loaf of the bread!!Also, my friend booked us for a table outside, but the weather was not the best when we went and they sat us at the bar without a problem. Would definitely go back to try out more items on the menu. -
Review 37 (2021-12-28 - Rating: 4)
The decor is comfortable, but the service can be occasionally dicey. Interesting array of entrees meats you would never think are available anywhere. Otherwise, not bad but not the sort of place you would want to go to habitually. Pretty pricey for what it is, but Id go back I think. -
Review 38 (2022-04-12 - Rating: 5)
Henrys End is our FAVORITE restaurant in the Heights, and our go-to for bringing visitors to NY - they always leave impressed! The food and cocktails are exquisite, and the menu has some of the most unique and high quality meats. Try the veal scallopine with wild morel mushrooms, or the spinach and goat cheese stuffed chicken breast. You wont be disappointed! A must-visit. -
Review 39 (2020-12-10 - Rating: 5)
Ive been coming to Henrys End since the late 1980s. It is one of my favorite restaurants in NYC! This was my first time to the new location. So glad I had a late Brooklyn appointment so I had an excuse to go! As always, food and service were fantastic. I highly recommend the Pistachio Crusted Goat Cheese/ Heirloom Beet Salad. -

Very intimate vibe, great for dates or small groups. Great selection of wines and the food is amazing. Portions were perfect. And our waiter was so amazing and thoughtful. My friend was visiting from KS and he had a special desert brought for us. I can’t wait to bring more people here. -

Mom and pop vibes. Friendly staff and delicious food! I would definitely recommend. -
Review 45 (2016-08-21 - Rating: 5)
Seriously good food. My husband said their steak was one of the best hes had in a while, and the tuna steak I had was crispy on the outside and soft like marshmallow when you bit in. Best part is the raspberry cider they sell, which Ive yet to find anywhere else locally. -

Review 50 (2011-04-03 - Rating: 4)
Its hit or miss with Henrys End. The service is friendly and accommodating. The wine is fairly expensive and nothing spectacular. Sometimes the food is great and other times its mediocre. There are sometimes strange food/spice combinations that sometimes work. At these prices it should be great every time. -
Review 51 (2018-08-17 - Rating: 5)
From the outside, it looks like a hole in the wall. Dont let that fool you. The food is delicious and the portion sizes are fair. The many features several Cajun inspired dishes and the inside is reminiscent of the French Quarter. -
Review 52 (2024-05-19 - Rating: 5)
We have been going to Henrys End for over 30 years and have always had amazing meals. The owner, Mark, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. My son just moved to the area and we celebrated their engagement. Food was outstanding and made our night so special with all the extra effort on our personalized desserts. There is a reason they maintain great reviews all these years. Highly recommend! -

Review 58 (2024-05-19 - Rating: 5)
We have eaten here several times over the years. This is a great neighborhood restaurant with excellent food and drinks. The cuisine and wine is more sophisticated than you expect to find in a neighborhood place with a very comfortable laid-back atmosphere. Its very close by to a fine classical music venue, Bargemusic. Try these two together for a very enjoyable time out. -

We hadnt been to Henrys End since they moved. I love the new location so much better. Theres a lot of natural light. The service was good. The food was good if not exciting. I had the West Indian Shrimp & Grits which was fine but didnt reflect the numerous spices in the description. BF enjoyed his frisee salad. The fresh banana in the bread pudding was completely unripe. -

Review 68 (2019-10-20 - Rating: 5)
Without a doubt my favorite restaurant!! The first time I experienced Henry’s End was sometime in the 1990’s and the intimate atmosphere, warm personal service and exceptionally delicious food left a lasting impression on me.. During the many years that I lived in Brooklyn, I brought countless friends here to share the experience.. It became my go-to restaurant, always serving up wonderful food and offering a perfectly curated selection of fine wine and beer.. Far from over-priced, the value of the food and experience here will almost certainly always surpass the cost of the meal.. In the restaurant business, like most businesses, there’s so much to be said for consistency.. Well, 20 YEARS LATER, on a trip to NYC I recently brought my wife and children to Henry’s End for dinner.. We were greeted with the very same warmth and charm by the same faces that I remembered.. And they even remembered me after not having been there for over a decade!! The bread and butter given to us as we waited was the same as it always was and every bit as delicious as I had remembered.. Everything that we ordered that evening was cooked to absolute perfection and presented beautifully.. I could go on forever about what a treasure this restaurant is and still never do it justice.. If you’re anywhere in the NYC area looking for an amazing meal, please do yourself the favor of visiting Henry’s End, tucked away in the sweetest part of Brooklyn Heights, just over the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan.. I promise you will not be disappointed.. And to Mark, the staff, and the family of this fantastic establishment, keep up the good work.. You are truly a blessing!! -

This is by far me and my wife’s favorite restaurant. We come here weekly for their incredible brunch and spend all the big holidays with them as well. Last night’s Thanksgiving dinner (you had to make a reservation in advance to eat there) pre fixe meal was out of this world. The Turkey and stuffing was fantastic and my mother in law can’t stop raving about the duck w/ raspberry sauce she had! It was an amazing time had by our table of 5 and all guests at their respective tables. For dessert on this night but always when you go order the Mrs Mud Pie. It is life changing. The staff is the nicest and always accommodating! Henry’s End is a great place for a date night, a friends gathering and definitely one to take your parents too. Trust me they’ll be raving about everything they had like my mother in law! -

The elk chops were amazing. The duck was good, and totally deboned. -
Review 105 (2023-04-04 - Rating: 5)
Outrageously good food, helpful staff, nice atmosphere, at a moderate price by NY standards. I had grilled shrimp w/ curry sauce and two poached eggs over a bed of grits. Sounds a bit strange, but it was scrumptious. My friend had a generous serving of French Toast, also delish. Good coffee. Will definitely return. -

Review 108 (2023-05-14 - Rating: 5)
Small but very nice with great service. Very relaxed vibe, not rushed at all theiugh the evening. Some uncommon unique selections to choose from, we had the Elk chops. The crab cakes, unkike the usual offered at other eating establishments, have a light crispness on the outside. After eating and a dessert enjoyed a cocktail. Outdoor seating in the front offers an classy outdoor feeling unlike many outdoor seating areas. Very happy that we chose to eat here. -

Fantastic service and very fresh fish! -
Review 115 (2022-10-29 - Rating: 4)
Service was great, food was good, but not good enough to justify the price, in my opinion. I wanted to show my daughter that when you pay more, you get into another dimension of food experience. Well we didnt quite get there. Food was well prepared but I was hoping for something more sophisticated, more special. You get a meat (or fish) and a sauce, and whatever side you order with it. Food was alright, my cocktail was good, and the server was great. But it came way short of my expectations at this price point, especially when I feel confident that I can cook something better at home. Oh well. -

Review 117 (2023-01-02 - Rating: 5)
Came here New Year’s Eve for a nice meal and it did not disappoint. Restaurant was very intimate and homely with a perfect atmosphere. Had the set New Years menu which was very expensive but the food quality was brilliant, portions were perfect and we got a free glass of Prosecco too (mock tail was offered for under 21s)! Our waiter was the best we’ve ever had anywhere- so thoughtful, caring, funny and made our evening as perfect as he could. Don’t know his name but he was perfect (great tattoo on his arm). Water glasses were never empty which was awesome and service was just exceptional. If your tall it’s a bit cramped but it’s all so great it doesn’t really matter- a perfect night out. -

My boyfriend and I had dinner at Henrys End last week and it was a beautiful, memorable meal. The service was excellent and our waiter went above and beyond to give us a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. Despite being there near to closing time, we were not rushed and told to take our time and enjoy our meal. I highly recommend this restaurant and I look forward to returning! -

Review 139 (2019-04-02 - Rating: 5)
Closing for renovations, but not closed for good. I can’t wait for them to open back up. Great list of American wines, and a diverse set of menu options. They offer everything from steak to crab cakes to duckling to elk. You’ll find something to love. Make a reservation, and wait at the wine bar with the same owner 2 blocks away. -

Absolutely love Henrys End, its one of those places I keep on my back pocket for impressing visitors. Been here dozens of times. Every meal was exceptional. The food is just perfect, every dish well-executed and delicious. The wine list is so well curated, its all winners. Prices are surprisingly good for what you get. -
Review 141 (2019-07-09 - Rating: 4)
So much fun - we got to sit outside, which was great on a warm summer evening. Food was really good, solid but not great (had the salmon with mustard sauce). Wait staff was nice but service was slow - caveat, we came on July 4, so they were packed. Nice neighborhood spot for a date night. -

Review 144 (2018-02-15 - Rating: 4)
Never knew chicken and pears with walnuts would be SO GOOD. A good portion of food is served and also it’s fairly priced. Waiters we’re polite even as it became extremely busy. Even Mark (the owner) engages with his customers! Their elegance is no question. These are real well deserved reviews and an even well deserved establishment + location for a restaurant by the Brooklyn Bridge. -
Review 145 (2018-01-06 - Rating: 5)

Review 147 (2020-11-27 - Rating: 4)
Ordered thanksgiving meal pick up from here this year. I think the restaurant was overwhelmed by the amount of orders and thus running significantly behind. Some customers didn’t take it so well and poor staff was being yelled at on Thanksgiving Day. Anyway, hostess gave out complimentary wine while we waited which was nice. Once home, food was still warm and very very tasty. They saved me from having to cook on thanksgiving day! -

This is a first-time for us at this restaurant, the food was amazing along with the service. I really like that they provide bread while we wait for our meal, the waitstaff was also very attentive to our needs. I definitely recommend this restaurant and its a plus that its located not far from the brooklyn bridge and the promenade. -
Review 150 (2019-10-19 - Rating: 4)
We had Sunday brunch there last weekend. We sat outside on the sidewalk. Service was friendly, reasonably quick. I had ordered a burger, to be cooked medium rare, but it came back well done. Ah, well. I ate it anyway because I was hungry. The fries were good. Others had the eggs benedict, pancakes, and they were good. -

Brilliant! Wonderfully amazing restaurant we wandered onto. Food was fabulous and the waitstaff was equal to the task. Even when we asked for our entrees to be slowed down so we could relax, and they were delivered 3 minutes later, the owner took care of the situation allowing for us to enjoy a beautiful evening and dinner. Thanks so much to all and we will return for more of the amazing food and ambiance. -

Fabulous little spots in the heart of downtown Brooklyn near the waterfront or the promenade. Close to the high Street train station and a walk away from the Brooklyn bridge and Brooklyn bridge Park! Food was great but the place was a little small and when it started to get crowded a little anxiety said in because of the whole covid thing. -
Review 156 (2016-08-08 - Rating: 5)
Basically atone machine set to 1985. Decor is straight out of a 1980s Woody Allen film. Food is hardy and simple, but tasty. Maybe a tad too much butter. Very fun though and oozing with character. Feels like what Brooklyn once was. -

Intimate personal experience with characters for waiters. Unique dishes with lots of wild game, from Elk to squab, but lobster and Sole as well! The Ostrich dumplings were great, but the dipping sauce could make a lot of things great! Worth it! -
