Overall rating: 4.3I wanted to try this place because I read somewhere they have happy hour until 8pm. The place also looked cute so went to give it a try. It turns out the day I went was the last day of the 8pm HH! Now it’s 7pm. 😮💨The happy hour deal is also not good. Over $12 for cocktails. I ended up just getting beer. I live in Brooklyn so the place has to be amazing for me to travel to ABC. It was not. I bet it’s nice if you live in the area. But alas, the place was not for me. Oh well. Give it a try and see what you think. The quality does look good. -

I’m always on the search for cute places to work on my laptop, and this cafe/bar popped up!She’s a cute little place in east village, posing as a cafe in the day time (with a wider selection of brunch food during the weekends), and a radio bar during the nighttime.I came during a Sunday morning, and it was pretty empty, but a lot of people filtered in closer to noon. The barista/bartender was really friendly, and the overall vibes were nice. A lot of people came to just talk with their friends, but there were a sizable amount of people who came to work on their laptops.I got the salted maple latte, which was the right balance of salty and sweet, and it came in this cute glass mug!I also got the softies on sourdough, which really hit the spot. The eggs came with a good chili oil crunch, a feta spread, and scallions. It was a good balance, and the chili crisp really tied it all together! All in all, I’d definitely come back! It’s a cute working space for those who need it. -

Great vibes at this small cozy listening bar. They have a few tables, room at the bar, and standing room.Cocktails are fun, whimsical and tasty. I enjoyed the drunk duck which is a take on a margarita served with a rubber ducky. They also have a nice variety of beers and wines, and the food menu includes snacks. -

I had a Mad Minute which has truffles and absinthe in it. Whoever created this drink should be hired by the CIA because I experienced a full life crisis while drinking this cocktail. First of all, why does it come with a small bowl of pecans, I don’t think I have ever eaten a handful of pecans in my life. Do you put the pecans in the drink? No other drink we ordered came with a small bowl of nuts. Next the drink tastes just like rye whisky but smells so overwhelmingly of truffles. My mind was in fits trying to figure out what was happening. After my first couple sips I started to hate the truffle smell and had to hold my breathe when taking a sip, but as the drink wore on, I started to solely be smelling the drink for the truffles. Once finished I was convinced it was the best cocktail I’ve ever had. As we were about to leave I finished my friends Negroni and realized my drink had no ice in it and was room temperature which snapped me out of the whole Stockholm syndrome experience. 5 stars -

Amazing spot to work remotely! They play very chill music, which makes it a perfect spot to focus. There’s one high top table, two larger booths, and several bar spots to work from as well. Was very quiet 8-10am, picked up after but still plenty of open spots to work.I ordered a cappuccino ($4.50) and a butternut squash danish ($6). -

Such a great day-to-night place. I wish they kept the coffee machine on slightly later but otherwise it’s a lovely space to socialise, read or get work done. They also have very good DJs -

Walking into Hi-Note feels like stepping back into a version of Alphabet City that still whispers its grit and poetry through the cracks in the pavement. This isn’t just a bar; it’s a neighborhood altar where locals gather, and strangers become part of the fabric. The owners, true guardians of the soul of this place, carry the torch of Alphabet City’s ever-flickering spirit. They’re not just slinging drinks—they’re curating an atmosphere, a vibe that’s equal parts nostalgic and alive in the now.The cocktails are thoughtful without trying too hard, the music selection feels personal, and the energy? It’s electric in that warm, unpretentious way you only find in places where people still believe in community. Hi-Note isn’t just a spot; it’s a reminder that there’s beauty in staying true to the roots, even in a city that’s always trying to pave them over.Five stars for Hi-Note, a bar that doesn’t just serve drinks—it serves history, connection, and authenticity on the rocks. -

Review 16 (2023-12-04 - Rating: 5)
Excellent chill cafe bar that you can work at or grab a drink and chat with a friend. The staff were all very friendly and the space had a bright and vibrant atmosphere. The BLT sandwich was very savory without being too salty or greasy. I just wish it were a bit larger for the price. The sparkling rose on the menu is also super yummy. -

Great place with breakfast food that tastes more unique and flavorful than classic fare. In particular, the savory yogurt was a hit and the brioche toast is great for something sweet, but substantial. -

Review 33 (2024-07-26 - Rating: 5)
It was hard to see Rue-B go. They had such a weird, quirky, cool energy to them that I swore Id never be on board with anyone else who took over that space. I saw Hi-Note open and it looked interesting enough, but I resisted going for months and months and months......and then on a random weekday after all my usual coffee spots were closed, I went in. And boy was I pleasantly surprised. The revived space is delightfully unique and feels like somewhere Id wind up in Tokyo, the coffee is very good (in awesome glassware), and the staff (morning, anyway) is chill as can be. I could nitpick and wish the lighting were directed better and the tables had better shims, but my two times at Hi-Note in the morning while I sipped on cortados and listened to jazz and did work were pretty damn great. I plan on doing more and can guess from their back bar that their liquor situation is quite nice too (was that a bottle of Akashi I saw?) and would love to come by when child duties ease. The bottom line: Neighborhoody, chill-cool vibes with great coffee. Totally worth your time and I can imagine if theres a morning surge in customers, they will ditch their pro-laptop policy to turn the space into a true coffee-and-chat space, which I think it deserves to be. -
Review 34 (2024-12-14 - Rating: 5)
Great drinks and environment. -
Review 35 (2023-06-14 - Rating: 5)
Hi-Note slaps! It’s a radio bar in Alphabet City with fire coffee, cocktails, and snacks. The vibe is lit and cozy, with live radio shows and music. The staff is chill and the drinks are bomb. Try the Lavender Milk Punch and the Peculiar Seasonal “Espresso Martini”. The food is delish too, especially the ham gruyere sandwich. Don’t miss the happy hour from 5 to 8 pm, with $10 cocktails and $8 wines. Hi-Note is the best place to vibe in the East Village. -
Review 36 (2023-03-01 - Rating: 5)
Cherish having this in the neighborhood! So happy they got their liquor license as they made a delicious negroni and espresso martini. New favorite place for a nightcap. -
Review 37 (2022-10-15 - Rating: 5)
If you’re looking for good coffee and a place to sit down and really zen out this is the spot. Incredibly well done set up with soothing jazz music playing all day. Great to sit down and do some work at as well as enjoying a drink as well which is a cool spin for a coffee place. -

Hi-Note is a fairly spacious coffee shop that serves a small selection of boozy adult beverages. the interior is minimalist yet charmingly modern. there is seating at the bar as well as other pockets of the interior. there’s apparently a rotation of DJs who spin here as well. lots of laptop-working customers planted during the day.order a pour over coffee. took a little bit of time to make but it was worth the wait. the coffee was pretty good—smooth, consistent flavored, and served hot. definitely appreciated on a rainy Saturday afternoon.staff is friendly and make an effort. -

Hi-Note is a very nice, friendly, and cozy bar. I love it! The crowd of young and professional patrons are friendly and pleasant, but not noisy. The radio music has my favorite tunes. The setting is cozy. The prize is reasonable. The bar tender Greg is attentive. My girl and me had some red wine and flavored seltzer water. We didn’t have a chance to try the pastries. Early in the day, the place feels like a coffee shop. This is an ideal place for working alone or with a team during the day and hanging out with friends for drinks at night. -

An excellent, all day addition to the East Village. Hi-Note is a coffee shop and bar that serves until 2 am. Ample outlets make it easy to camp out with your laptop. They serve light fare alongside lattes and the cocktail. Come on Mondays for the open deck night to spin your vinyl. -

Good morning spot, a few baristas with varying quality of third wave coffee skills. One barista makes the best mocha Ive had on the Lower East Side. Definitely worth a visit and it turns in to a bar later on. Great place to work, they have a good amount of seating with tables or surfaces to work on. -
