    Food at Hook & Reel is fresh and tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed the hush puppies, crab bites and calamari. Frozen mango margarita and rum punch was very good. Had the catfish basket for an entree. It was fine. However, I think I would prefer the fried shrimp basket. The restaurant decor is modern.

    This place is amazing, 10/10! We went for my dads birthday and we were all very pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. Our waiter was Sean, and he was awesome! He got us as many refills as we needed and constantly came to check on us! We will definitely be eating here again!

    Service is hit or miss here. It could be the time I’ve visited but overall it’s a great atmosphere the area is decent, music is always really good never overwhelmingly loud and the food comes out hot and fast!I also order from here very frequently and they never get my order wrong.

    My friends wanted a new fix for the weekend, so I explored 161st Street during the day. I happened to notice a Cajun restaurant located near the shopping center. This was no ordinary restaurant. I went in and was greeted by the hostess, who showed me options to dine for the day. I ordered a delicious 1/2 pound of Lemon Pepper Shrimp, loaded with Potatoes and Corn. It was savory to my palette. And the restaurant itself was decorated with wall designs with a chill oak wood interior. The waiters had asked how I was doing while I enjoyed my time.     I went for happy hour and though its a limited selection everything was pretty good. For seven dollars they give you enough shrimp and calamari to fill you up. I got the least strong drink and it had enough alcohol for a buzz. Overall I think the happy hour is well worth the price.

    Large space and helpful waitresses. The food was good but the drinks are better. The steamed food came in a large bag full of hot goodness. I didn’t know how to open it. But I didn’t let my ignorance stop me from eating my steamed shrimp with broccoli and noodles drowned in garlic butter. And when I say drowned, I mean drowned. Not bad overall. Happy hour must be good if all the drinks are as good as the blue margarita.

    My friends and I frequent this location. Shawney is absolutely the best bartender they have there! She’s kind, patient, friendly and doesn’t crack under pressure! Make sure you tip her generously! The manager (Brian) is very friendly and keeps everything copacetic.

    My mom loves seafood. I didnt want to take my mom to City Island for her 60th birthday knowing that it would be super crowded. So I took a chance with HOOK & REEL. We loved the food and warm welcome as we entered. The ladies at the bar did an amazing job with our drinks.Our waiter Chris went above and beyond with serving us. The restaurant was clean and organized. I will be visiting again and spread the word for family and friends to visit also.

    Online order was not ready. Ordered 1pound shimp. Was delicious when I got them.***********************I read your reply and realized that I explained incorrectly. I did place an online order. It was supposed to be ready at 2:15 . I arrived at 2:55 to pick up my order and it was not ready. Employee stated that it didnt go to the kitchen. I had to wait about 30 minutes in your restaurant.     The food is absolutely DELICIOUS! I had Crab Bites and Lemon Pepper wings with the sweet potatoes waffle fries. OMG!!! Ive never had wings so delicious, I was blown away. We celebrated my Moms 75th birthday and all our meals were great! My family had different boils and trust me, you will not be disappointed. I will definitely go back with my hubby and grandbabies. :-) The server Chrisvel is absolutely phenomenal :-).

    I went here on Sunday with my daughter for the first time since theyve opened up. I wasnt expecting a good outcome being that its located in the Bronx, just being honest. I was surprised by the excellent customer service given from the moment we stepped into the door to the very moment we left. First of all, the waitress at the front greeted us with a genuine smile. (Not typical behavior from businesses in the Bronx,) She gave us a booth within a few minutes, wasnt a long wait. Not too long after, our assigned waiter came to our table and introduced himself. My daughter is very shy and quiet, so shes not good with talking to strangers. Im sure he picked up on that and was very friendly, making her and myself feel comfortable. The whole time in between, he came to our table to check in on us. He was very patient, sweet, knowledgable on the menu and his vibes were definitely genuine. At the end, I gave him a tip but that wasnt good enough. I had to give this young man a good review online. The name on his tag is Kyle.As for the food and drinks, it was good. The chicken was a bit salty, but it was also crispy so that made up for it. I didnt try their seafood so I cant rate that, (wasnt in the mood for it this day) Pricing was a bit high, but the positive environment the employees set for this place makes it worth it. In total, I will go to this place again, for sure. Good job to the owner of this restaurant for hiring a team of great people. THAT is what keeps customers like me coming back in the future, giving good tips AND bringing more customers for you by giving positive recommendations about your business. Ill definitely come back next time and try the seafood!

    So I did read the reviews b4 I chose to eat here. I was hoping that Annie didnt display any of the negative comments that I read. But it was good overall. I walked in & I think Annie was having dinner at the checkout counter..The younglady who was tending to my side of the room was moving g as fast as she could. not crowded but as I sat during lunch it started to build with customers. I played it safe & ordered the $10.99 lunch special of jumbo shrimps which lived up to its name. They were tender & large with sweet potatoes fries. Enjoyed my visit hopefully will return soon & try something else.

    The food there is awsome, the fried shrimp and the french fries are very good, the lobester is one of the best food I have ever tasted. The resturaunt looks very fancy and the bathrooms are pretty clean, I would suggest going to this resturaunt.
