Jean-Georges’ flagship restaurant delivers everything expected of a $400 tasting menu, plus some more. One of the best meals of my life. JG’s flavors are bright, inventive, and delicious, marked by judicious use of acidity and flavors from all over Asia. Genius. I’ve never experienced these sorts of interesting flavors at any other restaurant. Despite its age, JG is one of the most youthful and exciting fine dining restaurants in NYC, full of vigor and brimming with fresh ideas. It actively pushes the boundaries of the art of fine dining the same way that a maestro wants to leave an imprint in their own artistic field. JG is worthy of being a destination dining. Caveat: you must love acidity to enjoy a meal here.Normally I highlight the standout dishes. Here, every dish was a standout except two, an exceptionally high hit rate for such a long menu. The caviar with coconut semifreddo and dill oil felt too simplistic and flat: fun concept but seemed missing a few ingredients. The seared foie gras was missing acidity. If it appeared earlier in the meal I’d have enjoyed it more (but then it’d ruin my appetite). A sweet and heavy dish towards the end was a bit much without some acidity to balance it out.Everything else was downright phenomenal, especially the madai sashimi with strawberry, sakura, and wasabi, which sent me directly to the stratosphere. The tuna tartare’s decoration is an exemplar of garnish for flavor, not just aesthetics, as the mint added a nice surprise and significantly changed two or three bites. The dining room was beautifully bathed by natural lighting with a nice view of the mall and skyscrapers. The wine by the glass selection was just as complex and exciting as the food. The service was extraordinary: conversational without feeling rehearsed, and it felt like they’d do everything in their power to make sure you have an excellent dinner. I look forward to my next meal here. -

I mean, would you expect less than 5 stars for a 2-Michelin Star restaurant? The food was delicious, but beyond that, creative and thoughtful. I picked Jean-Georges for my Michelin Star dining experience because the menu sounded stellar. Too many restaurants either over-simplify or over-complicate food. Jean-Georges walks the line of creativity and sophistication without crossing over into absurdity. I will definitely be back once my budget recovers! -

Whether youre stopping by for a delicious lunch paired with the best Cucumber Martini in town or indulging in a fabulous dinner, Jean Georges never disappoints. During my recent lunch visit, Cameron’s exceptional customer service truly stood out, making the experience even more memorable. I can’t stop recommending this gem to all our partners—its the perfect spot to impress out-of-town clients or for locals to celebrate a special occasion. Simply outstanding! -

The full experience was great. 6 courses is a lot of food, but 10 is not impossible to accomplish.1. Let the sommelier do her job. (We went May 4th) She is incredible. Her wine choices for us was absolutely perfect. The best sommelier I met. As a reference, I eat in great restaurants from Hawaii to Tokyo.2. Enjoy. Enjoy. Enjoy.Perfect service. Perfect food. Great place. -

Cant say enough about how wonderful our experience was. They made our anniversary so special and were able to accommodate my gluten allergy with gluten free options and substitutions which made me feel looked after. The wagyu was one of the best Ive ever had, and thats saying something. -

Jean Georges is always a wonderful treat! Every detail from the gorgeous dining room and comfortable seating to the impeccable service is THE BEST. And the food is always the star. We loved the 10 course menu and I included photos of our very favorite dishes. -

The very best in fine dining. Jean Georges is a master at creating beautiful and amazing tasting food. Youll never find a classier restaurant. -
Review 8 (2023-06-23 - Rating: 5)
I’m happy to see that Jean-Georges is every bit as good as it was when I was last in NYC with time for an exceptional dinner 9 years ago. It shines in every way and everything is without exception, exceptional. Perhaps in French one would say it’s magnifique! I met Jean-George’s brother Philippe and his daughter both of whom have a role in the tremendously great hospitality on display. It shows that you can be a two star Michelin restaurant and be warm and friendly with customers who prefer a convivial atmosphere rather than a formal one (not that there is anything wrong with that as Seinfeld might say—to each their own!). On my first visit I got to see Burt Reynolds at the table next to ours. On this visit I got to meet Philippe. Maybe next time I will meet Jean-Georges himself and then I can tell him personally how much I’ve loved his restaurants and that I remember and miss Vong from a long time ago. -

Ate breakfast at 10am at Nougatine. Good espresso and delicious eggs Benedict, great service and relaxing environment. Will definitely go again. -

The food was inventive and absolutely incredible. We did the 10-course omnivore tasting and 6-course vegetarian tasting. Wish the bread was warm, but loved the little treats and the take-home almond cake at the end. Dinner was a very long and leisurely experience. Great for an anniversary, birthday or special occasion! -
Review 11 (2021-05-12 - Rating: 5)
Great food! Simple flavors, and you can taste each flavor individually while also tasting a new flavor that is the combination of the individual flavors. Classic french.Overall great experience and solidly two Michelin stars all around. The food is at three Michelin stars, but the service had hiccups. For example, we arrived 25 minutes early and were told to stand out in the cold until 4:45pm came (covid means no waiting area, maybe). But no apology. They did, however, come outside as soon as the time came and brought us in. Second, they never brought the check to the table, so after 15 min, we got up to leave (thought they just charge the card on file, service included). Then as I was walking out, they gave me the check (ran it over to me), so I had to awkwardly come back to table and sign it. Just mentioning these because it is room for improvement. -

Absolutely marvelous meals here, twice. One of the six best restaurants in the United States. Fortunately, weve never seen hide nor hair of donald trump here, which wouldve taken away from the quality of our dining experience. Staff are just plain incredible, coming as close as any reasonable person would expect, to perfection. Meals with truffles have been especially impressive. Spectacular. -

If youre considering dining at JG you know the bill is going to be pretty hefty, so you already know what youre getting into in terms of price. The food however was fantastic and elegantly plated with a myriad of different flavors and textures. The service and staff were very accommodating and the restaurant ambiance overall was clean, dim and inviting. Im not sure Ive had a better dining experience in NYC. -
Review 14 (2018-02-12 - Rating: 5)
A tried and true NYC favorite of mine. The sweet spot is coming for lunch. Its beautiful inside the dining room, especially on a clear day. The natural light that filters through is unbeatable. I am not a foodie so I wont comment on the supposed deterioration in quality. All I know is that Im never in a bad mood after lunch at JG. -

Had a really lovely time at @jean_georgesnyc which was the epitome of #finedining, albeit without having to sell a kidney thanks to the prixfixe lunch special 🤗Each dish was an 11/10 - all had their own unique flavour personality like characters in a play. 🤹🏼♀️🤺🧗♀️🤽♀️Service was warm and genuine, with just the right amount of attentive - really one of the most flawless fine dining experiences to date. 🍾Follow @thismodeleatsalot on FB/Insta/YouTube! -

My wife and I had an amazing experience for our anniversary. Our server, Daniel, was very helpful, thoughtful and professional. We highly recommend this restaurant and wish the establishment many successful years to come! Thank you very much to all of the staff and especially you, Daniel.– Bryant and Karla. Worth the visit. It is expensive but good. Staffs are very knowledgeable and helpful. Good half bottle selection of wines. Try egg toast with caviar. -
Review 18 (2019-01-13 - Rating: 5)
Had an amazing experience here. You have to rate this on the experience and not value. Yes it’s insanely expensive, no you’re not going to recoup that cost in flavor alone. But put that aside and soak in the refinement of the space. The luxury in the attention to your every need from the staff. Our server helped us explore the wine menu with perfect recommendations for our courses. Watched a vegan patron next to us be accommodated which was impressive given the menu. Only complaint is that we didn’t get to enjoy dessert fully because we were already stuffed! -

We visited numerous Michelin star restaurants in our New York City visit and all were great but Jean-Georges blew them all out of the water the food was spectacular service was personal and exceptional the sommelier was personable and accommodating the atmosphere was just beautiful the table lighting was beautiful and unique. My wife and I both agree on our last trip Jean-Georges was our favorite and exceeded all our exceptions. I would highly recommend and I want to thank the team for providing us a lasting memory and even allowing us a picture at the pass exceptional!!! -

Review 30 (2023-05-31 - Rating: 5)
This experience was incredible! I honestly cannot say anything negative about this fine dining experience. We chose the “Six” omnivore tasting. This was $268 per person. From the start, we had an incredible server. All encounters with Jean-Georges staff were positive. My favorite course was Course 3, the Peekytoe Crab. My least favorite (which was still great) was Course 4, the Black Sea Bass. I can only say I had a least favorite course because I’m just not much of a fan of Sea Bass, but if you, you will enjoy it. Flavorful is such an understatement when describing the food we were served. Only great things to say about Jean-Georges! Thank you. NOTE: Dress up! Even if you feel overdressed - you’re not. Everyone in this restaurant was in either a suit or a proper dress. -
Review 31 (2023-10-06 - Rating: 5)
You will have to take out a mortgage to dine here, but in an aspirational dining sense, you get what you pay for. Unmatched quality of food, service, and atmosphere that is more than deserving of the two michelin stars.I would only warn you that only get the 10 course if youre hungry. Its deceptive in how much food it is. -
Review 32 (2023-11-24 - Rating: 5)
One of the better Michelin Stared restaurants in Manhattan. Unfortunately, they do not do wine pairings anymore, but they do have a very good wine list. -

Review 34 (2022-04-11 - Rating: 5)
What an incredible meal. Every course was surprising and different. Our server (mike?) was incredible, accommodating, and really made us feel like he was taking us on a journey with the feel. I had the vegan tasting and it was great but I want to point out especially that the vegan desert was NOT sorbet! I was so impressed at that! We will definitely be back -
Review 35 (2023-08-12 - Rating: 5)
We have a lunch here in the NYC restaurant week. The appetizers are innovative, I can tell the chef is trying to mix the taste from other parts of the world with original European taste, such as a spicy fish meat sushi. The entree are excellent with multiple layer taste, also different from traditional French cooking. -
Review 36 (2023-09-04 - Rating: 5)
What a delightful experience. From the ambience and service to the food, everything was on point. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and we felt this was a very special experience. We chose the 10-course omnivore tasting menu and it did not disappoint. The only dish we didnt particularly enjoy was the squab. It was cooked perfectly and the ingredients were very interesting, but it felt too heavy as the ninth course and the flavor of the meat had a strong aftertaste. This, Im sure is a matter of personal taste. I would have personally preferred the wagyu beef from the 6-course menu. The other nine courses, the amuse bouche, the special anniversary mousse dessert and the mignardises were all fabulous! The French and SE Asian flavors were delicate and complex at the same time, combining textures, temperatures and all four flavors plus umami. Just exquisite.Thank you for making our day so special.Shout out to our friendly server from Georgia. -

Review 38 (2022-04-01 - Rating: 5)
Came here on my bday. They offer 3 tasting menus; 6 or 10 course and a vegetarian option. Great food, well balanced on taste and texture. All cocktails were well made. Ed was our server, service was attentive and fun yet professional. One of the Michelin starred restaurants we would visit again. -
Review 39 (2018-07-12 - Rating: 5)
Hands down the greatest restaurant experience of my life so far. And when I say experience, thats truly what Jean-Georges is, an experience. First, and most importantly, every dish I had was the greatest thing Ive ever eaten. The portions seem small, but they know what they are doing. By the end of the meal, you will be full. A good full, not overly stuffed. The service is exceptional. They cater to each person individually based on your preferences. I ordered some things I wasnt familiar with and the staff gave excellent descriptions of the meal. And when I told them I dont like a lot of spice they made sure the chef knew to make it slightly more mild than usual. Its very expensive $200/person if you dont get alcohol. The wines are delicious though, so figure on getting a bottle or two. Cheapest wines were ~60/bottle but many were in the hundreds. No matter what you spend here, its worth every penny. -

Review 41 (2019-12-10 - Rating: 5)
Had the four-course prix fixe menu which was excellent. We were hungry when coming in but left pretty full. It was my daughter’s birthday and we were given an extra dessert to accompany the other two… I thought this was a very nice gesture. Overall, the food is delicious and the restaurant is lovely. While the price has climbed over the years, the food quality, preparation and service remain outstanding. Youll want to visit! -
Review 42 (2019-11-28 - Rating: 4)
Overall great experience! Too much food for me, we did the 6 and 10 course respectively. The appetizers were better in the 6 but the mains and dessert were better in the 10. Wish we had choices on menu items because you were stuck with whatever they wanted to serve. -
Review 43 (2016-12-29 - Rating: 5)
Jean-Georges, where do I get started. It was the nicest most upscale restaurant I have ever been too. Serving French cuisine I felt like I stepped on a plane and traveled to France. Me and my friends loved it, just know it is very pricey. Its is a complete upscale restaurant, but it is completely worth it. Be ready to be wowed by the staff and the atmosphere. They had amazing drinks and out waiter was so knowledge about everything on the menu. This was an amazing experience and I would go back as often as I can afford it. Call and make the reservation, I promise you will not be disappointed. Go today, just make sure you have your checkbook on you, you may stumble across some stars! -

Went there a few weeks back for a birthday celebration. Amazing experience. 2 of us did the classic tasting menu. 2 did the late harvest menu. Every dish for everyone was perfect. First time experience a 3 star michelin restaurant. It was akin to a bucket list experience. The attentive staff was impeccable. The delivery of each dish was food art. And the explanation on how to eat it was appreciated.Highly recommend. -

Review 47 (2022-01-17 - Rating: 5)
Had a wonderful birthday dinner here. French techniques with a not so subtle East Asian (mostly JP) influence. All dishes are excellent and I particularly like the egg toast, king crab purses, sea trout and wagyu beef tenderloin. Perhaps not a defect but more of a style - I find quite a few dishes with fairly dominating flavors or ingredients. Like sourness, ginger in many dishes; chestnut in the foie gras dish. I personally would prefer a more subtle balance of the flavors. Some dishes also feel better suited for warmer seasons (like dishes with hint of mint, citrus).Service is attentive and appropriately friendly for a fine dining place. Kudos for achieving this during a challenging pandemic. -
Review 48 (2022-03-24 - Rating: 5)
Came here in March 2022 when they got rid of lunch service and only focused on the diner service. This was to celebrate my buddys entrance into fatherhood and a night out. I got the 10 course omnivore prix fixe menu. The service was great! The waitress serving us knew the menu very well and was knowledgeable in wine selection and pairing. We did not need to request the sommelier because the wine pairing recommendations were well received. The wine pairing that stood out was the king crab risotto and a chardonnay that had notes of oats. The servers were also very attentive, but not intrusive. With regards to the menu and the food quality, if I had to describe a theme, it would be different textures, temperature and intense flavors clashing together within the mouth, melding into a melodic harmony to accentuate each ingredient. This delicate combination is really easy to mess up, but Jean-Georges pulled it off perfectly. The quality of the food is definitely one of the best there is. -
Review 49 (2019-12-27 - Rating: 5)
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Excellence of food, vibes, and service. Of course it’s a michelin star restaurant so it must be good but I guarantee it’s be beyond what you can expect! I highly recommend the desserts- they are really on point! One thing is the dishes are very savory so if you prefer more natural and unseasoned food, maybe you might not really like it. However, overall great place for special occasions, like birthdays, Christmas, etc! Diverse selection of food so go for it! -
Review 50 (2018-12-27 - Rating: 4)
Wow! I had the best experience. Ate there for Christmas dinner and was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Well worth the money. The food was superb. For the appetizer, I got the Tuna Tartare. For the entree, my boyfriend and I split the 28 day ribeye with potatoes and spinach. For dessert, I had the cinnamon apple cake with ice cream. Also, their wine selection is quite impressive. The only suggestions would be to have a more attentive waiter staff. It took a while to get our drinks transferred from the bar to the table and to get drink refills. The table next to us also experienced slow drink refills. I also felt like the two person table we were seated at was too close to the next table. I could hear their entire conversation. -
Review 51 (2019-09-10 - Rating: 5)
Fortuitously, spent an hour at the bar with a friend before dinner and was impressed with the three barmen with New York City élan -- purveyors of wisdom through spirits. Dinner was, as always, memorable. Jean-Georges had a very slight change in the personalities of the wait staff towards restaurant skill over good looks and now have a better team. As usual, the dishes were all spectacular and of exceptional worth. I adore this restaurant and wish everyone could afford this heavenly experience. -

Review 55 (2022-01-17 - Rating: 4)
The food was great and service was amazing but there was an individual coughing on the table next to ours the whole time. They also state there is a dress code but it is not really enforced as I saw a few individual who were dressed down with sneakers and black jeans and no jacket. I would bring a change of clothes just to be safe. -

One of the best meals of my life! We came here to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and the whole experience from each curated course to the sommelier recommending wines to us was perfection.I also loved the touch where my wife left one of her courses untouched coz she didn’t like it and they whipped us a special meal and showered us with dessert to compensate. Deserving of the 2 Michelin stars! -
Review 57 (2015-01-18 - Rating: 5)
Impeccable, innovative French-American cuisine in a space characterized by understated elegance. Service is equally amazing, & the prix fixe lunch menu is a steal - no wonder this place fills up its reservations so far in advance.Even if you are not a seafood fan, consider trying the yellowfin tuna & lemon shrimp dishes. They will change your mind about seafood - they are the best seafood dishes Ive ever had.If youre visiting the area, do yourself a favor and book a table for lunch a full month in advance. Thank me later. -

We had lunch here during the holidays. The wait staff was very attentive n the food was good but it wasnt amazing. Their menu was okay - my husbands first dish was sashimi; it was a little bland. My baked oyster dish was good but it had too many mini Croutons. The main dish was salmon - perfectly cooked. My husbands chicken confit dish was okay...it didnt have much flavor but he liked it. Their dessert was pretty amazing though -we had the Chestnut dessert..it included ice cream/chocolate n some other fancy stuff. It was a good experience - and Id go back to try their dinner menu. -

Wonderful! Superb! Amazing! A great restaurant for fine dining. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we were stimulated. The front desk was that of a five star hotel. With multiple staffers, to assist with whatever you may need. Every bit I took of my meal elevated to a higher cloud. By the end of my experience, I was intoxicated! -
Review 67 (2010-12-14 - Rating: 5)
Three michelin stars well deserved! Went there for the lunch prix fixe (surprisingly affordable...) and everything was exquisite - from the entrees ordered to the complimentary appetizers and desserts. They accidentally messed up one of our orders (though they caught it as it came out to the table) and even brought us a complimentary apology dessert (in which case we say...please..the more mistakes the better....)Our waiter was incredibly professional and all of the staff was very kind and attentive. Loved the decor and the atmosphere as well - though there were still quite a few people in the room eating a mid-afternoon lunch, the tables were spaced far enough from each other to still feel like it was just your party in the room. That being said, another enthusiastic client in the room loved the food so much he begged the waiter to let him thank Mr. Jean Georges himself - and the rest of the room got to catch a glimpse of the culinary genius! Will most definitely come back here again. -
Review 68 (2018-06-23 - Rating: 4)
First time we went, it was amazing. Each following time, something seemed to be missing. Its amazing, but given the reputation and price point, I can only give it 4 stars. It really all depends on your server.Cant go wrong with the black sea bass and tuna ribbons! The cornish hen was great, too. They have great breads, but dont fill up on that. Dessert is hit or miss. -

One of my favorite restaurant in NYC. The food is amazing. The place is beautifully designed. The atmosphere is chic but not heavy. The sound level is great. Great place for a romantic dinner, as well as a business diner. Just love it. -

A sumptuous experience from start to finish. Everything is as it should be from the staff to the decor to the most important aspect of all, the food. From the moment I enter here I always feel cossetted but not restricted. The atmosphere is just right. The standout dish for me on my last visit was the Arctic Char. It was seared perfectly.I will be a perennial visitor. -
Review 72 (2017-04-15 - Rating: 4)
Food was good. Michelin rated restaurant so its also pretty pricey. Service was fantastic. The atmosphere and ambiance is nothing special. They do require men to wear a coat and will provide one if they arent already wearing one. The menu is three-course or tasting menu (approx 140-175 per person). They have a decent wine list consisting mostly of French wines. They do require a reservation and you must show up no on time or no later than 20mins after your reservation time or your table is not guaranteed (grace period).DETAILS about my visit:• WHEN: Friday, April 14, 2017 @ 7:30pm• WHERE: Columbus Circle, Manhattan, NY• MY ORDER:- Cocktails/Wines: Cucumber Martini (fantastic), Sparkling Rose Champagne, and a bottle of Chablis.- MEAL: Three-Course option1) Yellowtail Ribbon sashimi (fantastic)2) Parmesan Crusted Salmon (okay)3) Main Lobster with Ravioli (good)- EXTRAS:• Breads• Amuse-Bouches: asparagus & beet with a ? Tea (which was really a soul in a tall fancy tea glass - really good!).• Dessert: I opted for the Cookie Tray (6 assorted cookies) to-go because I was full and it was delicious!• They also brought a platter of mini sweets (marshmallows, chocolate filled with liqour, chocolate, macaroon, and more)OVERALL: Good experience. A little too pricey. Ambiance was nothing special. Fantastic service. Friendly staff.Probably wont be on my top list of restaurants to visit again but only because I prefer a less extravagant menu and a livelier atmosphere. However, if you have the money and want to impress someone special then this is perfect! -

The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the experience for our lunch meal was just perfect. I wouldnt want to go through a 12+ course meal during lunch, so they have a smaller prix fixe menu that is perfect for the mid day meal. The service itself was spectacular, attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely nice. The dress code is less strict for lunch reservations, so gentlemen can feel comfortable coming in with a nice dress shirt and not feel underdressed. The big perk here is that you dont want to be wearing a suit after your lunch meal, so it works out perfectly.Despite that, JG still requires jackets for their dinner reservations, which in my opinion is unnecessary. Ive been to over 100 michelin restaurants worldwide, and this was a first. The food was also spectacular, every dish was perfect, and the final dessert was out of this world. Out of all of the restaurants we visited during our trip to NYC, JG will stand tall as one of the best. Looking forward to our next visit in the future :) -

When you think of Chinese New Year, you obviously think of French cuisine. Well, my mom wanted to come here so mother dearest gets what she wants on this one day out of the year.We did the prix fixe menu because 3 courses plus dessert was more than enough. Surprisingly, there are a lot of Asian accents to the foods. Sea urchin is a popular Chinese seafood dish on special occasions and with a hint of jalapeno, that was amazing as the first dish. Of course, I wish the serving was larger but this stuff is rare! For the 2nd dish, I ordered the arctic char. The arctic char had an interesting, overpowering texture with the crisps while the black truffle crumbs were too light. The final dish was an almond-crusted duck. That was special and also an interesting texture. It was definitely my favorite. I was already full halfway through the duck.My mom got the scallops, hake, and lobster. She made a fuss about the scallops, to which the waiters were highly apologetic and brought her a soup that she initially eyed. One of the managers even came out to personally apologize, but it really wasnt a big deal. We also ordered a basic gewurtz, nothing too fancy but the waiters were running back and forth to refill. When it came time for dessert, we wanted the caramel assortment. To our surprise, probably because my mom made a fuss, they also brought out a chocolate assortment and a winter assortment, as well as marshmallows, a tray of chocolates, and a stand with at least 3 different types of sorbets. The dessert was certainly impressive and provided a unique tasting of the chefs many designs. We literally had a table filled with desserts.Honestly, I was a little doubtful of the service because of reviews from friends and online about service to Asians, but service was stellar and food was excellent. While we were eating dessert, they started to get busier and waiters gave us the bill before I could order a whisky. The waiters, although very professional and attentive, can lighten up a bit on the seriousness. -

This was one of the most pretentious evenings at a restuauant I have ever experienced. I was appalled at how pricey the minute portions were. A rack of lamb should not be two lamb chops. When I told the hefty female manager that my portion was not adequate, she offered to get me something else... at full price. Very rude. While I cant complain about the taste of the food, I was left hungry. Dont buy into the Buzz Bad dining experience. -

This 2 Michelin star restaurant is a nice treat!Go for a lunch or brunch and enjoy the atmosphere, sufisticated dishes and relatively reasonably priced menu, for the location.Service is sharp, as expected from restaurant in this scale.I have to admit that none of the dishes really made my day and swept me of my feet, but overall very tasty and nice on the eye.I would come back, but paying for price evening menu ia a bit harsh. -
Review 79 (2014-05-05 - Rating: 5)
We prefer the main dining room and have the 3 course tasting dinner. Its fabulous and the service is spectacular. This remains one of New Yorks greats. Try pumpkin soup, crab ravioli, duck. Sauces are unique and fabulous. And lunch, thats simply a gift from Jean Georges. Brought 2 friends from Seattle today......... LUNCH IS A MUST. -

WOW! This place is one of the best dining experiences Ive ever had. Located in the Trump International Towers, the restaurant has a beautiful bar and interior. Simple, very classy. The food at Jean Georges is excellent, exquisite, spectacular. The standouts for me were the sesame crusted foie gras and the black sea bass. Amazing. The service was spot-on, as expected. We got a nice booth seat for two in a part of the restaurant that kind of caves in a little. If you like fine dining, this place is a must. You wont regret it! We did the $118 pre fix dinner menu and were STUFFED by the end of the meal. TIP: The dessert course (which comes with the pre fixe) is included and it is large. Save room! -

Review 82 (2020-10-20 - Rating: 5)
Now that the Covid rules changed two weeks ago, allowing indoor dining, I can finally return to this wonderful restaurant. Seating in the main dining area has been spread apart far enough that those hated plastic barriers are not necessary. The upside of this: during the few minutes when the troupe of goggled and masked servers are not in the dining area, one can look about. The only reminder of this horrible year outside the curtains is the JG-branded hand sanitizer on each table. This ambiance, along with, of course, the food and service is why we return. One couple across the room did not realize that the outdoor terrace / Nougatine menu is not available inside, just the three tasting menus: short, long and vegetarian. Hopefully the NYC outdoor portable heating laws will be addressed soon.As always, my deft, knowledgeable servers performed flawlessly with my delicious plates and wines. If only this amazing restaurant was on the ground floor of another NYC hotel. Any other.2020 10 14. M2. -
Review 83 (2016-03-28 - Rating: 5)
I have eaten several times in Nougatine, the more relaxed (and much cheaper!) section of Jean-Georges. Superb service and food. Especially at lunch, the prices are quite reasonable for a 5 star restaurant. The arm chocolate cake comes directly from heaven. -
Review 84 (2013-09-15 - Rating: 5)
It was my favorite and still is.... I went for lunch and what an incredible deal it was! I went with my family member, and we did not order drinks or anything of that sort, we got 2 plates on the prix fix, I had shrimp to start, the exact dish is Seared Gulf Shrimp with Baby Artichokes, Lemon Fennel Emulsion and Paprika Oil, and it was quite amazing. If not better than Le Bernardin or at least on par with the seafood there! The amount of flavors in that dish is exceptional. Next I had Crispy Confit of Suckling Pig Baby Beets and Ginger Vinaigrette, which was one of the finest dishes ever. It was cooked to the perfection. I didnt order dessert, but the famous marshmallows were awesome and the petits fours were great. I went in the kitchen and that was great. The service was quite impeccable...and to cap it all off, I met Jean-Georges Vongerichten himself in the kitchen and chatted with him for a bit and even took his photo. Very nice of him to do that since he was pretty busy! -

I came here this Monday for Restaurant Week lunch. The food was great and the lady at the reception desk was nice. My waiter was OK and was really in a rush ( maybe it was restaurant week). I finished my three course finished with 40 minutes.... But I will definitely come back again and enjoy the food next time! -
Review 87 (2018-05-25 - Rating: 4)
Cant complain about the service or the beautiful interior. Food was mostly good but missed the 2 Michelin star bar to me. For example, the wagyu tenderloin was tough and plain in flavor, the sea bass (particularly the jus) was overwhelmingly salty, the fois gras needed something to cut the richness... Highlights were the nigiri amuse bouche (I wouldve had that for my entire meal if possible), the tuna ribbons, the fraise des bois dessert, and the complimentary chocolate mousse cake. -
Review 88 (2016-11-06 - Rating: 5)
The food and service are excellent. The atmosphere is very upscale and classy. The staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to make sure we are satisfied. This is a expensive restaurant but its definitely worth every penny. I definitely recommend it. -

Several years ago my best friends partner got a call from my friends son, Andy, asking what he could possibly get his mother for Christmas. This would be her last Christmas. My friend had recently received a diagnosis of two different cancers and yes, she probably would not make it another year. Her partner was lost for an answer until Andy asked. Well, what does my mother miss doing the most now? Oh, her partner said right away going to New York to eat at Jean Georges. So Andy made a call to see if he could get a couple of desserts sent up. He was transferred to someone who could help and right away the gentleman said of, course they would be happy to send something. Arrangements were made and he said simply, Have your mother open the door to a delivery Christmas eve. when the time came the doorbell rang and there was a Fed Ex delivery with two entire meals completely prepared for heating which included appetizers, dessert, veggies, rolls, and complete instructions for heating and preparing these meals. There would be no charge at all, he had told Andy. Three of us (I happened to be visiting) worked in the kitchen and sat to eat and I will never forget this kindness - ever. -

Review 98 (2011-07-15 - Rating: 4)
Jean Georges is everything you would expect from a fine dining restaurant. Pristine setting (albeit stuffy), white-glove service, fancy menu, expensive prices. The wine list was also really extensive. Our waiter was really patient when two people form our party were rather late, let us sit, and didnt press us to order. Personally, I have found the food to not be as appealing/taste as good as some other fancy dining restaurants, but my friend who hates pretentious food really enjoyed this meal. For visitors who are fans of Jean-George, they must try this spot when they are in town. For resident NYers, have it on your list, but it doesnt need to be at the top. -

Would recommend the Yellowfin Tuna Ribbons, the Backed Chatham Oysters and the Parmesan Risotto from the Prix Fixe. The chocolate dessert was intriguing but unsatisfying. Ambience was calm and collected. Was amused at how quick the waiters fake smile would disappear after serving the table. He could have been more confident with navigating the menu. -

One of the better restaurants in New York. Chef Jean Georges manages the menus of several restaurants in NYC. This one is his own and carries his name. This is a Michlene standard restaurant. Expensive but worth it.If you want to save some money, aim for the lunch deal.Make sure you reserve well ahead. -

One can always expect to be pleasantly surprised by Jean-Georges. The surprise component of his creations is ever so present from the first sight, the whiff of smell, and the first taste your sparkle in the taste buds. For a less than formal, Nougatine offers similar quality food from his restaurant next door with the same pomp but less circumstance. -

Review 107 (2013-05-18 - Rating: 5)
The front room of Jean Georges gives you access to his fine cooking at a slightly lower price point. Limited, but excellent menu and an attractivet pre-theatre menu (and price) make this an attractive option in the Time Warner region. Elegant, modern space will make your feel pampered. Service attentive and focused. Creative cooking of the highest order completes the picture. -
Review 108 (2012-04-16 - Rating: 5)
The three course tasting menu here is more than plentiful. And no worries. Dessert is actually course number four (and it goes on and on... haha). The extensive wait staff here goes above and beyond. Well worth the expense! -
Review 109 (2015-08-22 - Rating: 5)
The lunch meal was fantastic in every sense. Food was presented beautifully, delicious and novel. The well known egg was a joy to eat. The amuse bouche, desert tray, and marshmallows that were given in addition to the lunch plates were playful and interesting. Everything has a unique flair to it. The plates themselves were memorable. Sea urchin on black bread with yuzu and jalepenos, excellent. Sea bream sashimi, grapes buttermilk emulsion, excellent. Foie gras brule, rhubarb, sichuan pepper corn, pineapple raisins, interesting. The main courses of parmesean crusted chicken, veal scaloppine, arctic char, hake, were all great, but the smaller plates were just more interesting. And of course, top notch service wherein they take move plates for all members of the table simultaneously. -
