    I went here for the matinee. A+. It felt like walking into a 1970s time machine with great music, dancing, and vibes. Highly recommend for an unpretentious early night… complete with a WATERBED!Docked one star for the pizza. We basically ate cardboard, but we had a great time doing so.

    Came here for a matinee event on a Saturday and had a super fun time.The space isnt large so I imagine some nights it could get pretty packed, but it wasnt so crowded while I was there that I couldnt comfortably dance around.The ambiance is great. It is extremely dimly lit inside. The DJ was awesome. The music is very loud so I would caution anyone who might have sensitive ears.I would 100% come again.

    Joyface was fun! The DJ was on point having played music from the 70s to now with a good mix of everything. The only things I had issues with are there needs to be more lighting for the stairs to the balcony, the wait list system has to be improved and the pizza ran out quick.

    A very unique bar modeled to look like a 70’s apartment, complete with a waterbed! There’s different areas set up for sitting, but overall not too many seats available. Overall, a very fun stop and I’d recommend it although it’s probably not the place to spend a whole evening having drinks.

    Really cute place, expensive drinks but amazing atmosphere. There are drag shows on Wednesday and it was very very fun. Extremely fun dj with lots of 70s/80s music. Lots of places to sit and a water bed! Free entry

    My friends and I visited this bar around 8/8:30 on a Wednesday night and we were the only ones in there! The decor and vibe are so cute. The drinks were good but a little pricey (my friends paid $18 per glass of wine and my Negroni was around the same) but pretty normal for nyc. They don’t serve beer or have a menu so have an idea of what cocktails you like or be open to their small selection of wine. Overall, I’d definitely recommend for a lowkey hang with friends! So nice to be somewhere without a crowd that has such a cozy atmosphere.

    Atmosphere is hands down 10/10. I was there on a Sunday so it wasn’t that crowded but all the vibes were still immaculate. I would highly recommend trying to go on a weekday when it’s less crazy so you can soak in the vibes.

    THE most fun place to go out in NYC! Period. End of discussion.The music and overall aesthetic/vibe of Joyface brings so much light to my life. I am forever grateful to have such an incredible place to have weekly therapy dance sessions.I cannot speak higher about Jen and the people she has on her team. Special shout-out to Z, Daniel, and Ben!!Everyone is so welcoming, kind, and SO MUCH FUN to be around.Come here if you’re cool and want to BOOGIE🕺🏻

    This place is so fun!! I’m not sure what their usual vibe is but when I went, the DJ was turning disco and 70s music and it fit the ambiance so well.The bartender (!), door person, and dj were so kind. Definitely worth a night out here.

    I see people complanining mainly about the prices... nonsense, where in NYC is cheap to have a drink ? The place is great, an amazing atmosphere and friendly staff. The show they have on Wednesdays is very cool and very unique.

    Probably my single favorite bar in NYC... Great bartenders, great interior, consistently awesome vibes: diverse, inclusive, relaxed, a little decadent in the best way.You can order pretty much anything at this bar without facing judgement or an ignorant stare. Its just a delight. Great place for a date or a drink, or a party....gets a little packed and crazy on the weekends, so you might want to avoid Fri-Sat nights if thats not your vibe (honestly, you might want to avoid the East Village in general lol), but its always a good time.

    I like this place. They play music from my youth. Even tho the DJ and the patrons were almost all born much later. The demographic here is skews young which is interesting considering the vibe they are going for. I want to give this place five stars but its never been super friendly, which is ironic considering that the groovy aesthetic that they are looking for was very welcoming.

    Would have given this place a 5 if the staff weren’t so rude and learned how to be more professional when making a mistake.Anyway!DRINKS ARE SUPERB and the atmosphere is pretty dope. It’s very 70s luxe. You’ll definitely want to take a lot of pics here and wear a cute outfit if you’re into the gram. The bars next door to this place are really cool too. Not my favorite area in NYC to visit but it’s definitely keeping its exclusivity alive.

    ONE OF THE ~BEST~ BARS IN NYC, NO QUESTION.Staff is BEYOND friendly and the atmosphere is nothing short of dazzling. Retro lounge interior where you can dance the night away to 70’s & 80’s hits. Expect to mingle with some of NYC’s most stylish club kids.Negative reviews are undoubtedly written by people who have false self of entitlement and gave the bouncers an attitude. (Its LES. A lot of rent bills being paid by parents).I can’t say enough about this bar. One of the last good institutions of Alphabet City. Hit up Joyface and you’re guaranteed to have a ball and walk away with some new friends.

    One of the more fun and delightful bar experiences Ive had in Manhattan. The bartender was crazy knowledgeable and we had such a great time chatting the night away along with him. My usual martini was excellent and with an exciting unusual Gibson pickled ramp twist.Initially, we were the only people here (early as!) and as other folks began to filter in it just livened up more. Lots of nice and chill interactions between patrons and the staff member. Honestly, such a delightful experience.

    Super fun vibe, great music, great drinks. Came for a birthday gathering on a weeknight (70s night!) and it was surprisingly packed but the staff were totally on top of it. I never had to wait long for a drink. Even the barback & security were incredibly helpful when I lost a bag. They could use another bathroom but you cant do much about that with NYC real estate. Definitely will be back.

    Cant sing enough praise about this place. Im a bartender myself and the level of class and confidence from the bartender was outstanding beyond most. They dont have a menu and you will see some people complaining about that. But if you want a specific cocktail just ask. However I would definitely recommend for drinks inspired by songs. They have that craft down!

    I guess aging is making me more impulsive, but I hosted my birthday gathering here without even checking it out. And it was phenomenal. It’s as if someone built out the home bar in their ‘70s-style den; but in the best way. So many plush couches and sitting areas for chatting vibes (plus funky art and a waterbed I never got to check out...) and the BEST music. By the end of the night, everyone was dancing to Fleetwood Mac and life was wonderful. Saturday night was bumping (with a line), but I can’t wait to come on a not-weekend for a casual date night.
