    Excellent real American bar, less fancy than most of the neighborhood but thats the reason to go there. Paul is a skilled and super friendly bartender who is already there for 14 years. Highly recommend !

    We visited here for drinks with our two teenage boys after a busy day exploring the city. Although not eating, we were warmly welcomed and enjoyed a couple of drinks, which were reasonably priced for NYC. It was also fun watching the traffic as the rush hour started to build up and cars were jostling for position to get towards the Holland Tunnel! Would definitely recommend stopping by and they had a good list of beers on draft too.

    I’m a big fan of Kenn’s and the way they make their burgers. I think using the pita is a very unique choice and I think a compliments, their burgers really well. Prices are also decent and you feel full after.

    A sudden rain storm and hungry bellies had us heading for a place to escape. As we read the menu outdoors, a woman passing by said “best burgers in New York”. That was enough of a testament for me.I felt like I’d stepped back in time to pubs in England and Australia. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with colourful chalkboards spelling out the food and drinks plus the cosiness of the wooden chairs and tables.We were immediately seated when we walked in and we endeavoured to dry off.They do hamburgers differently here - in pita bread. I asked for “chips” with mine when I should’ve said “fries” a common mistake we Australians make in the USA. The burgers were flavoursome with a texture I’m not used to, yet still tasty. To go with our burgers we had margaritas.Service was very good. Decor inviting. Outdoor dining available - which would be lovely hadn’t it been raining. Toilets antiquated yet somewhat charming.We will return.

    Only popped in for a pint but ended up staying a bit longer due to the atmosphere, really decent pub/bar ...service was friendly and made to feel welcome but the star of the show was this food. I dont mean this in a bad way but I had no expectations for the food, it was a last pit stop before heading to the airport and I was thoroughly impressed. I had the veggie pitta and fries...loved both. Would stop back for a pint or food anytime.

    Cool bar and pub on a corner in SoHo. Interesting concept with a bunless chilli-dog, but it was very good. The place smelled amazing and looks inviting. Service at the bar was excellent. The open kitchen is a neat touch. Reasonable prices. Good drink selection.

    The atmosphere is really the highlight of this bar: the walls and windows are covered with works of local artists, paintings, engravings, etc. Food and drinks were just okay. We easily found a table for six at 4pm on a Saturday.

    The smoked salmon sandwich was perfect for a hot summer day. Split the wings and they were perfectly crisp.Thankful for fast seating even on a busy Tuesday afternoon rush. Even my friend who had some dietary restrictions they were very attentive and kind to her charcuterie option.Can’t wait to come back

    Kenns is definitely not fancy but that’s the best part. It reminds me of a pub in London especially as there are kids and older grandparent types as well. I had a great time here with friends. The cocktails are very boozy and service is attentive. I also like it because it’s not a loud spot blasting music which is not the vibe when you actually wanna talk to people. Would love to come back!

    I chuckled about some of the ‘short comings’ in a few of the reviews. Kenn’s is a treasure and established itself as such from day one…and I’ve been going to Kenn’s nearly from day one! Burger in a pita, the Pigwich among other mainstays made this the place it is today. I hesitated to give 5 stars. I don’t want to extend my wait during busy times! Complaining about a burger in a pita…really? Back in ‘72, thanks to Kenn’s I started putting my grilled burgers in a pita! And friends thought I was so clever. It’s a great place with a great bar and a great staff all adding up to a great vibe! I’m 73 and will regret the day I’m not mobile enough to get to SoHo and Kenn’s! Keep on keeping on!

    I work up the street on Greene and come here often! Broome St Bar is one of the only no frills bars with a pub atmosphere within close walking distance. Sometimes I really don’t want a “trendy” vibe, just something lowkey. My coworkers and I love coming here for a beer or cocktail after work. The owner is really nice too and her grandmother’s meatballs are absolutely amazing! She only has them on the menu seasonally so get them when you see them! We were blown away! It can be pricey but that’s the neighborhood! It’s Soho!

    Real good food in a tight, funky space. Weve always enjoyed our food, and a drink or two In this old school bar cafe in SOHO. Probably opened in the Seventies, you have to be doing something right to last that long!

    Upon a friend’s recommendation, I stopped in for lunch for a burger and a side of hand-cut fries. They did not disappoint. Though the fries are not crisp due to them being thicker, they were tasty. The burger was fresh, tasty and cooked exactly medium as ordered. The staff is friendly as well.

    Its an amazing place. And it has enough reviews and does not any validation from me. But I must say that it is a must visit place of you here in NYC. It has the right vibes and right people, also the right food.We met the owner, she is a lovely lady.     Great neighborhood spot for tourists and locals alike. Im probably the 1000th person to mention this but they serve their burgers on pita bread. It sounds odd but it works great with their high quality Pat La Freida beef. The burger comes with potato chips or a salad, another quirk. Theres a good beer selection and enough of a cocktail list to accommodate basic tastes. The bartenders are solid as well!

    This is by far the best bar/bar food place in soho. Ive been coming in for 12+ years and its so consistent and always on point. The bartenders, owners, and servers are the most down to earth amazing people and are just all around wonderful, always warm and friendly even when they are slammed busy. The burger, chicken sandwich, and chili are the best Ive had in all of the Eastern US. Also they have the best tap Guinness. Paul and Brooks are the best most friendly bartenders. If youre in Soho, please go check them out asap! There is nothing else like it in all of NY.

    Ah, Kenns Broome Street Bar, a mainstay of the SoHo neighborhood scene since 1972, and the best classic public house youll find anywhere nearby -- its history goes back to the early 19th century, at least as a saloon and inn, and the feeling of nostalgia and history seeps from its walls.The kitchen is right up front near the entrance, with a window outside; this isnt the sort of establishment that separates front-of-house from back-of-house. Its a classic neighborhood pub for all sorts: blue collar workers, white collar professionals, artists, entrepreneurs, and everybody in between.The hospitality is real and the menu and atmosphere are unfussy. Its the perfect spot to get a 1/2 sandwich and soup lunch special -- I recommend the smoked salmon or liverwurst sandwiches (both are just about the best in town), as well as the uniquely wonderful cup of chili, served in, well, a proper mug.Their burgers are also just about the best youll find; they eschew the bun in favor of a pita, for just the right balance between carb and meat (similar to how Korzo in Brooklyn pulled off the best burger in the world, may they requiescat in pace). Kenns has a perfectly good beer and wine selection as well, and friendly casual service to boot.You could sit at the bar and chat with other patrons and the bartender, or have a casual date with a friend or colleague. Take some time to take in the artwork from Robert Cenedella, who included Kenns in his Bar Paintings Series.

    Really a great bar. Strong drinks, decent & simple bar food, fair prices. Staff is awesome. Good mix of people in the crowd, music random across many genres and not loud, just right. Drinks came out bar-to-table incredibly fast, which I absolutely love. Our waitress chased us down the block when my fiancé left her purse at our table. Very refreshing to come across a regular every-day local neighborhood type bar.

    Kenns Broome Street Bar is a longtime casual neighborhood bar that serves regular and vegetarian bar food and weekend brunch specials. The food is great. They introduced me to eat a burger patty in a pita bread. The service is great and the drinks are at reasonable price. It offers friendly vibes with good music. They still use an old-fashioned hand-written receipt card when you ask for a bill. Its a good casual happy hour spot.

    My husband wondered in here while I was off enjoying NYFW then came to join him. It was later in the afternoon and still obliged my with a mimosa. He was trying different beers. Had the salamon, dill omelette. Eli and other bartender were both very nice and chatty which we both enjoy which is why we sit at the bar. Even let us plug in our phones to charge. Food was a little better than some pub food. Drinks were good. And service was great!

    So maybe its not the fanciest bar/ restaurant in this neighborhood but the prices and service as well as surroundings (overall) are very promisingOrdered Prosecco and it came fully filled (not sure it’s the way they serve here in NY but comparing to places in Europe I’ve been to it caught me by surprise

    Stopped by for the first time in over a year and was happy to see that the calm neighborhood vibe was still present. The burgers are awesome, served in a pita pocket and made with Pat La Frieda sourced beef. Fresh guacomole and chips as a side did not disappoint.This is also a great place for art lovers as they pay homage to Soho and Greenwich Village artists on their walls.

    Great burger, but serving it in a pita bread... not so great. You should give client option for bun, pita, or lettuce wrap. There arent many good burger places left in the area, so would be nice to have an option for a traditional / classic burger. The patty is high quality, now the rest just needs to follow. In addition, serving it with Lays chips or salad? Another fail. Great vibe, service was also great. Just add buns and youd be gold. Cheers!

    For almost 20 years, Kens Broome Street bar and grill has been an extension of my living room. The Ghosts of artists/actors/writers and musicians who once comprised the denizens of SoHo still have a hold on the place. In the middle of an overpriced food desert, Kens is a sight for sore eyes. Been that way since the 1970s. Over the last several years the place has been overrun by tourists and the after work crowd, yet regular locals like myself continue to frequent here for the booze, beer, burgers neighbors and friends,. Unpretentious and in stark contrast to Ciprianis across the street. Similar crowd, different vibe entirely; very laid back and down to earth.. The menu is mostly soup, salad and sandwiches, but the soup is all made in house from scratch the pastrami is even better than Katzs (there, I said it!) and the burgers from Pat Lafrieda, hmmm. Very reasonably priced for the neighborhood. Rumor has it that the landlord wants to sell the property, so i would hurry before its too late. If you want fancy smancy, forgetaboutit! Wear your best rock and roll tee shirt here.

    Had an amazing time with family enjoying the burgers and drinks! We made so many new friends that night that we still visit from time to time! The music is great and the vibe of this place is surreal. Lots of locals and tourists but it’s worth the wait to enjoy good company.     Well, I was lucky enough to work there back 78-80 of and on...started as a dishwasher, made to prep cook, and then a Brunch Cook...I could cook burgers, and omelets and did salads ok, but I did earn the nick name “Charcoal Charley” from one of the dozen or more Musicians, Artists, Writers and Actor/Directors!Probably similar but every one there was working to survive while they chased their dream!It was always the best hangout in Soho, best beer, best crew party every night...best owners!Bob, Kenns older brother was a retired music exec that let us go one tour, do sessions, play gigs, Hell loan money for recording demos! Kenn was just a great person, worked the bar some and had basically built the place I believe back in what 71?72?, and now since 2015, his daughter Julie now runs it...I remember her working there part time back...well long time gone!Anyway, it’s one of the last original Soho spots, the food was almost always better than anyone expected and the bar was a Mecca of various art forms at least back when the full floor loft behind us went for about $600!It’s also a memorial of sorts of the days Basquiet was doing his SAMO stuff on the walls every where and even before “Giant” was getting stenciled and every CB’s, Max’s and Mudd Clubb poster competed for space! It’s also a memorial to 2 brothers who supported more artists & musicians, either great, mediocre, or out right bad and yeah some extremely successful than probably all the galleries in NYC!It’s worth the look if your visiting, it deserves its place in SOHO History!

    For staying the night in NYC and ending up here it was a prime example of what a good dive bar should strive to be. The food was good (the pastrami sandwich anyways), its got local beer, and its got that true dive bar atmosphere. The bartender and workers are cool too. Color me impressed!

    Celebrated a big birthday with friends who have been gathering at Broome St since the early 70’s. Never even knew we could have a party here but the staff was amazing. Antonio was the most unbelievable server. He took care of all the food and drinks for 20 of our closest friends. The owner, Leanna couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. We planned this long distance from Charlotte N.C. and everything was perfect. We had the back room to ourselves. What a perfect night. Thank you Broome Street for helping us celebrate an occasion in a place that holds so many great memories for us.
