This place is a little family. They have loyal customers who have turned friends-who-hang out at the bar. It is a cozy, homey, casual place. Drinks only, no food. You can bring your own food. The drinks are super-duper affordable. They hold serious dart throwing competition, have cool pinball machines, sports tv, and some books. NYE is celebrated with zest. We had a scotch, few laughs, and warm nuggets of chats. -

Went here for a send off party, our friends got married the day before and were about to head out on their honeymoon. Absolutely loved this spot, it’s cozy, comfortable, and the staff is nice. It was fun to sit outside as well to people watch and pet all the dogs going by. If you want a local, casual hang out spot - this is it -

Amazing place!! Cozy, atmospheric, servers are very polite and professional. Very clean, very good choice of music. Prices are very affordable. I think its the best hidden gem in area. Definitely coming back again and bring some close friends with us. -

Easily one of my favorite bars in New York City, Kettle of Fish has always been a great place to grab drinks, either in passing or for the night. Truly a classic New York bar with one of, if not the best jukebox in town, great bartenders, and even better drinks. Places like Kettle of Fish make New York City a great place to live, can’t wait to head back there soon! -
Review 5 (2024-04-03 - Rating: 5)
Great spot for Packers fans! My husband is a huge Packers fan and we stopped in to check it out- well worth the stop. Simple beer choices, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. -
Review 6 (2019-11-25 - Rating: 5)
This bar is the greatest gem in the West Village. The owners are so kind and hospitable. The spot is notorious for being a Packers bar (Aaron Rodgers has visited), but regardless of your NFL allegiance, this bar will quickly become your home away from home. The staff are fun and generous (Shout-out to Tara and Terry, the greatest bartenders in the game). Come here and you will not be disappointed in the service and the vibe. The drinks are reasonably priced for a Manhattan watering hole, too. I honestly only have positive things to say about this NYC treasure. -
Review 7 (2019-03-08 - Rating: 5)
Great village bar. Good prices all the time, friendly owners (especially if you let them know you’re from Wisconsin!). It’s a large space with darts, places to sit, and a pinball machine or two. During football season it’s a Packers bar on game days. Best one in NYC! -
Review 8 (2019-12-01 - Rating: 5)
One of the best places to visit in NYC. Came in for Thanksgiving and was treated like family. The staff and the atmosphere makes you forget you are in the busy city. Highly highly recommend going here for a drink or two. Even better if you are a Packer and Badger fan. The owners are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. Love this place. -
Review 9 (2023-11-05 - Rating: 5)
Love this dive bar in the west village. They do not have food but you can order delivery or bring food in from anywhere. Bleeker Pizza is great and theyll deliver. Cash only -
Review 10 (2024-11-30 - Rating: 5)
Didnt eat, but great drinks and vibes. Packer bar in the heart of the Village with a cool literary history. -
Review 11 (2018-11-24 - Rating: 5)
Great Wisconsin bar. They are inconsistent about having a cover for Packers games, but the $12 cash cover comes with two beer tickets. They have a good selection of beer and serve regular and veggie brats. They sell out too quickly though and the bartenders can be a little gruff. I guess thats to be expected. The whole place is a rough U shape so its difficult to find seating or standing room even though there are several tables in the back. The bathroom is entirely too small and is lacking privacy but thats just a dive bar I guess. -
Review 12 (2024-02-08 - Rating: 5)
Love this place! owners are awesome! fun spot to watch the packers play (and win!) -
Review 13 (2017-01-29 - Rating: 5)
Best Packers bar in the city! Great atmosphere, amazing and friendly people; you feel like youre at home, even if youre not from Wisconsin. There is always someone there handing out cheese curds during playoff games.Overall, a great, friendly, laid back bar in the middle of the bustling mile-a-minute city. -
Review 14 (2018-02-05 - Rating: 5)
Nice local dive in the heart of West village. Situated right by some of the best jazz clubs like Smalls, its a great little bar to hang out. Bartender was very friendly and atmosphere was nice. Ill definitely go back when Im around. -

What Pat Daley has done with Kettle of Fish is incredible. This historic bar was taken over by Wisconsin natives and now is the best Packer bar in town. The friendliest staff, reasonable prices, and unbeatable local atmosphere. A must-stop for travelers and locals alike. -

Review 19 (2018-10-27 - Rating: 5)
If youre a Brewers or Packers fan, this is THE bar in NYC for you. This is the only bar in NYC dedicated to Wisconsin sports and is a great spot to watch the games with fellow fans. The back room usually has the game on with sound -
Review 20 (2019-11-20 - Rating: 5)
Just how your grandmas basement looks. Very friendly, cozy, GoPackGo bar, with fun Wisconsin favorites on tap. On game days, you buy two drink tickets at the door as Kettles cover. On big game days, get their early and know youll wait. But wisco folk make it worth it. -
Review 21 (2017-01-02 - Rating: 5)
Classic Wisconsin bar in Greenwich Village. It is sureal but as an expat Wisconsinite, it is nice to have a home in Manhattan. It is a laid back bar to talk with a friend when there isnt a Wisconsin game on. When there is a Wisconsin game it is a big time Packer bar that supports Brewers and Badgers. -
Review 22 (2018-07-25 - Rating: 5)
Not calling it a dive bar, but it has that feel to it, which I love. Bartender Terry was very friendly and helped me and my friends find what we now consider to be the best pizza weve ever had. -
Review 23 (2018-03-08 - Rating: 4)
Super busy and service was a bit brusk. If you are a Wisconsinite in the city you will find your people here. Darts, Packers paraphernalia and I had Door County cherries in my Manhattan. Also, a lot of people wearing Patagonia LOL -

Review 32 (2019-01-02 - Rating: 5)
The must-experience Packer bar in all of NYC. The many TVs, rabid fans and authentic WI food up the experience. Sure there is wine to get in but you know this is THE place. -

One of our favorite bars in Manhattan. Reliable drinks, full bar, reasonable prices for the neighborhood, and Door County, Wi. cherries in your Manhattan or Old Fashioned. The decor matches the rec room you hung out in with your best buds during Jr high and HS. The owners are awesome, and the staff is friendly and makes great drinks. -
Review 67 (2018-09-05 - Rating: 5)
Anyone who refers to this bar as a dive has no idea what they are talking about. Rather, they have no idea what a dive really is. -

Kettle of fish. As a Wisconsin native, it feels very familiar. In a good way. If you are in the know, you are in the know. If youre not, it is a good respite between the other lively bars that have a special kind of energy. To me it is an oasis. Also great if you are a Packer fan. Best in the city. -

Review 84 (2019-04-29 - Rating: 5)
Absolutely cozy dive in the heart of the West Village. Im someone who was raised drinking in Irish pubs and old man bars in northern New Jersey and I really dont feel comfortable in a loud club atmosphere, and the first time I set foot here I immediately felt right at home. The decor is fun and eclectic and the clientele is just plain folks enjoying a laid back atmosphere and pleasant, talkative bartenders. The vibe is very homey and I will absolutely be visiting frequently in the future.Despite appearances, the Kettle offers a great draft list including a few local brews, a great choice of bottled, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a selection of quality wines on offer as well. What a gem! -
Review 85 (2020-06-22 - Rating: 5)
The BEST Wisconsin bar in New York. Feels like home every time. Fantastic atmosphere for the packer games - get there early to get in. Patrick and his wife take wonderful care of everyone and make you feel like family. If you’re lucky enough to get in - go to their annual Christmas Sing Along! Always a favorite place to go. -

I love KoF! Totally awesome atmosphere, extremely accessible from the trains, and nothing beats seeing folks who meant to stumble in to Stonewall instead try to figure out what the heck is going on!Really great drink list and reasonable prices for the village. $10 card minimum is easy to meet with two drinks. Friendly patrons and lots of seating in the back. Can get crowded sometimes but it’s always a worthwhile pursuit. -

Review 90 (2019-09-23 - Rating: 5)
If youre looking for a unique bar with plenty of character in the West Village, look no further. Of course, it should be noted that the particular flavor of character at Kettle of Fish may not be for everyone: the owners are Midwestern transplants from Wisconsin and the bar serves as a haven for others who have escaped to New York from the Midwest. Here amid the dive-bar vibe, youll find plenty of Green Bay Packers paraphernalia strewn about, two dart boards, arcade games, and an unpretentious vibe. Football fans should be warned, though; the wait to get in during a Packers game, especially during the playoffs, can begin to resemble the line at clubbing venues found elsewhere in the neighborhood. That said, get there early and enjoy the taste of (a Midwestern) home--they serve brats! -
