We chose this place because the reviews were great and it was open late! Sometimes when a restaurant is open late you dont get incredible quality but this wasnt the case here. All the food we ordered was incredible. We were especially blown away by the ravioli and the seafood risotto. The service was impeccable too. Would definitely come back here if it was late and I wanted reliably good italian food!

  • Review 2 (2024-11-03 - Rating: 5)

We love this place! 🥈 Time here and the service and food was even better done the first time! Wonderful! Place to go to dinner after a show.

  • Review 3 (2024-06-16 - Rating: 5)

Brought my dad for dinner during Father’s Day weekend. We were greeted promptly and sat inside towards the back. Our server Alejandro was extremely attentive, kind and helpful. We ordered the salad with the balsamic vinegar, he had the fettuccini special which included squid ink pasta, crab meat and shrimp, and I had the veal scallopinie. For dessert we ended with tiramisu, espresso, a cappuccino and the cheesecake. Everything was delicious and the portions were great! Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic food for my first time being in NYC! The staff are incredibly friendly and don’t hesitate to get you anything you need, as for the atmosphere it couldn’t have been any better, well deserved 5 stars in my opinion.

  • Review 5 (2023-12-30 - Rating: 5)

Food was absolutely amazing. Best pasta I’ve had in NYC thus far. They make a few pastas from scratch so make sure to ask which ones! We got 2 of those meals that they make themselves. We did not get anything besides main course. The waiter wasn’t very friendly. Atmosphere was beautiful, calm, romantic. Decorated for beautifully for Christmas as well!

  • Review 6 (2024-08-20 - Rating: 4)

The restaurant was very nice. The staff was also very friendly and polite.I think the prices was a bit high compare to what you get. The food was okey, but nothing WOW feeling about it.

Our reviews had over 56 million views in the last 12 months. We do not get paid we just love to eat and have fun. We really love La Masseria. This is some perfect Italian food. I had carbonara and she had pasta with meat sauce. Both were fantastic. Went at 8 pm and busy so make a reservation. Both desserts were off the hook fantastic. Photos are attached. We also had appetizers and both were very very good. This is a place we will return to over and over again for sure. The burrata is very creamy and the meatball is HUGE. One can easily be shared. Im getting hungry just looking at my photos again!!!! Check out all of our reviews and look at all the photos below. If we do not like it we do no review it so all of the ones you see are places that are fantastic. Follow us if you like. We had over 56 million views in the last 12 months and we thank you for that. Beautiful Italian restaurant. Love the mellow amber lighting, good vibes, and food. I had the meatballs for appetizer, a rather large and filling Grilled Mediterranean Sea Bream whole fish, and Creme Brulee. Hit on all three.

  • Review 9 (2024-09-16 - Rating: 5)

I went here for Sunday lunch with my daughter before seeing a Broadway show. We made a reservation, and they were ready with our table as soon as we walked in. You have your choice of inside or outside. We chose inside. Service exceeded our expectations in every way. Ronald was our lead server and was wonderful. He was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable of all the questions we asked. Food was delicious. We shared the burrata and it was a huge portion. Main dishes were excellent. Ambience was great and restaurant is convenient to all theaters.

  • Review 10 (2023-04-06 - Rating: 5)

The food is PHENOMENAL!!!! A little pricey but worth every penny! DELISH!!! My husband said that was the best Chicken Parmigiana he has had EVER! The tiramisu was super moist - simply DIVINE!

  • Review 11 (2024-12-29 - Rating: 5)

This Christmas Eve we all went to La Masseria NY for good food and great ambiance. Conveniently located near mass transit. We exchanged Christmas/Chanukah gifts. We had a great time.

  • Review 12 (2023-02-26 - Rating: 5)

Overall, it was great service, and the food was impeccable. Everything was really fresh and delicious. The pasta has that handmade by grandma taste to it.The ragu was the best ragu I ever had at a restaurant. The table bread was perfect, and the hand-made mozzarella was delicious.I HIGHLY recommend this place for a nice date night, great atmosphere.

  • Review 13 (2024-10-27 - Rating: 5)

Truly fun ambiance with excellent italian food. 2 specials, risotto with scallops and stuffed veal chop were spectacular. Our server, Giuseppe was fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant.

  • Review 14 (2024-11-22 - Rating: 5)

Dinner was incredible here! Easily the best Italian restaurant near Time Square! Made a reservation and ask if we could walk in an hour early. They kindly accommodated. The staff was 5 stars!! Super friendly! The balcony overlooking the restaurant is super cute. Tried the fettuccine with veal and mushrooms! One of the best dishes of my life! BlackBerry whiskey cocktail was also great!! Just an FYI, if you order still water, they charge you $10 for the bottle…

  • Review 15 (2023-07-07 - Rating: 5)

La Masseria was the perfect dinner for us tonight. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great! I got the Ravioli de Angelina and it was tasty and perfect portion size. The homemade bolognese was also delicious and the pomodoro was the ideal meal if you’re looking for something light and fresh. We started with the burrata salad and some drinks. My choice was a lemon drop and it was the perfect mix between sweet and strong. On top of the great food and drinks, the service was incredible. Everyone was very kind and welcoming and took really good care of us.We opted out of dessert because we were stuffed full.Overall, such a great experience. Would definitely go back!

  • Review 16 (2024-07-08 - Rating: 5)

I have eaten a lot of food in a lot of cities but the veal special was hands down the best meal I have ever eaten.

  • Review 17 (2023-07-23 - Rating: 5)

Perfect authentic Italian post broadway. Superb food, excellent service. The ravioli and risotto are top notch. Quite possibly the most heavenly citrus creme brûlée. You deserve a special mention too, tiramisu.

I met with a friend for lunch to celebrate my b-day.I wanted to have fish fillet.I chose this place out of 20 others in the hood.We had prefix during NYC restautant week. 49$ each.Everything was good. Which is rare. Often some item on a prefix menu is off.Luch was quiet, personal and delicious.

  • Review 20 (2024-12-11 - Rating: 5)

Wow! This place is amazing. Came in Wednesday around noon, party of 6. The place was packed with the pre-theater matinee diners (and probably extra busy because its the holiday season) and was buzzing. The service is spectacular. They have a well oiled machine and know exactly what theyre doing to make sure nothing goes wrong. I was so impressed watching all the staff whiz around the restaurant. They start you off with a complimentary bread basket. We started with 3 appetizers - the burrata special, mozzarella farcita dello chef (homemade fresh mozzarella cheese stuffed with sweet roast peppers & marinated eggplant, served with fresh tomatoes & basil) and the calamari. Everything was excellent. Plenty of food for us 6 and still had leftovers. For an entrees I had the agnolotti piemontesi - homemade veal & parmesan cheese ravioli with wild mushrooms sauce. Devine! A must. My colleagues raved about their homemade potato gnocchi with radicchio & taleggio cheese sauce which also looked so great. Cocktails all around were wonderful. Ordered a few desserts - tiramisu was a standout! If you are looking for a great place to eat this holiday season with family and friends add this to your list. You wont be disappointed!

  • Review 21 (2023-12-10 - Rating: 5)

Quick bite after Hadestown at 11pm, right next door. No rez drop in dinner. Unbelievably efficient - a . In/Out 35 mins. Awesome food and service in a family run OLD SCHOOL white tablecloth and very welcoming experience.

  • Review 22 (2021-11-29 - Rating: 5)

The food is outstanding and the ambience is charming and inspiring. We enjoyed the Insalata Masseria with grilled chicken and the Orecchiette Alla Bari Vecchia (which I highly recommend). Service was excellent. Add this place to your list when you visit NYC. Reservations are recommended, especially for dinner.

  • Review 23 (2022-10-03 - Rating: 5)

Great Italian cuisine! You can’t go wrong here, wether you’re feeling pasta, steak, or something else it’s all delicious. This came as a recommendation from a local NYer Italian so you know it’s good. The service was excellent and attentive and the atmosphere caters for both an intimate setting and or a casual conversation with freinds.

  • Review 24 (2024-11-26 - Rating: 4)

My, my...where to start? Whisked to our table about 10 inches from another table for two...The Farm promised a warm cozy evening with new neighbors, who were having a less than cozy evening. Rich in charm we started with Aperol Spritzer and a wine. As the bread basket arrived, my bride tipped her spritzer a little which almost landed on our new best friends table which added some levity to the cool atmosphere. The bread basket array of over heated breads and bread sticks were the perfect diversion to refocus. Went with the Misto Bosco – mixed forrest (arugula salad), Terra Mare (Baby Octopus) and Veal Scaloppini Limone...all of which over the top in taste and portion. So much so...we had to pass on dessert. In posting this I found they have additional locations in tasty areas of Florida and Rhode Island. Doing it right all over!

  • Review 25 (2024-08-20 - Rating: 4)

La Masseria was a nice dining experience. I came with some friends while in town on business. Waiters were friendly, service was about what you would expect for a restaurant of this caliber however, I do think it is generally overpriced for the value. Fortunately, my group dined off the restaurant week menu and saved a few bucks. There are a variety of interesting authentic Italian dishes and fascinating La Masseria takes on others. Tiramisu was amazing, the chicken was flavorful, my water was never empty. Overall, I would return if only to try a few more dishes.

  • Review 26 (2023-10-14 - Rating: 5)

Phenomenal homemade pastas and the sauces are to die for. Salad Riccia is one of the best salads in the City. And the spaghetti, penne, chicken and scialatielli all were great.

  • Review 27 (2024-09-12 - Rating: 5)

I had a wonderful dinner here before I went to see the Outsiders on Broadway! The bartender, Alexander was very helpful and we had a nice conversation! The food is phenomenal! I’ve been here a few times and it’s always amazing!

  • Review 28 (2024-07-28 - Rating: 5)

My favorite italian restaurant in NYC. I’ve been coming here for 15+ years and it never disappoints. The service is outstanding, food always on point, and culture one of family. The Veal Milanese is to die for. Gnocchi are clouds of love. Zucchini fritters addicting. Beef carpaccio is perfect. The stuffed mozzarella and Bronzino are a must.

  • Review 29 (2018-05-18 - Rating: 5)

I recently had lunch at La Masseria with family members. We were treated like family. The food is excellent: tasty and beautifully presented on the dish. We had several appetizers. My brother and I had the Granotto con fagioli e frutti di mare. It brought back memories of Rutigliano. Bravo, Pino Coladonato! Complimenti e grazie!

  • Review 30 (2021-06-01 - Rating: 5)

Ate at this restaurant during our visit in NYC. We were pleasantly surprised!!! The food was amazing, great atmosphere, and attentive servers! Definitely recommend this place. -The cheesecake was also amazing.

  • Review 31 (2024-08-18 - Rating: 4)

Very upscale place. The waiter that we had was awesome. Very accommodating w/ the complex menu. Very good drinks.

  • Review 32 (2022-12-20 - Rating: 5)

Great place to eat close to the Broadway theater district. Superb food! Delicious and fresh. Outstanding service, highly recommended.

  • Review 33 (2018-06-26 - Rating: 5)

Visited by former presidents this theater district spot satisfies the most discerning diner looking for high quality Italian fare. The service is warm and authentic and the food is flavorful and decadent. The initial bread basket has cheese grissini that is packed with flavor. The lentil olive oil for the bread is a treat. For our entrees the bucatini and the rigatoni were delightful. The bucatini had a rich bacon-infused flavor without being too heavy. The rigatoni dish was bursting with flavor and the short-rib meat was tender and fell apart with the touch of your fork. For dessert the hazelnut gelato was the perfect bookend to a great meal. A little on the pricey side, but I didn’t have to fly to Italy to enjoy this meal, so I guess it’s worth it!

  • Review 34 (2023-01-02 - Rating: 4)

Really cozy restaurant with classic Italian dishes. The Penne Masseria is burst of flavour and the Linguine alle Vongole is suitable for those with more muted palates.

  • Review 35 (2019-12-05 - Rating: 5)

Coming to a big city like New York presents challenges to sort out all the numerous highly rated dining options and then have your expectations be solidified by the experience. With a recommendation from a former resident of the Big Apple and a Providence, RI businessman who frequents the establishment, La Masseria was must to test.Wow! Immediately upon entrance to be greeted by Danielle and Alesio we felt a rush of glee knowing we were in a special place. From the seating to immediate attention from our professionally dressed waiter the entire dining experience was superb.Delectable starters, a beautiful menu enhanced by the evening specials created extreme difficulty in making a decision of which nine would be wrong.Upon hearing the Special Entrees we wanted one of each!Well, the summation of the evening is that we were not satisfied with our insatiable desires. We were exalted with the meal but wished we had room in our tummies. What to do? .......We returned two nights later and had an even better evening because if the developed familiarity with the menu, service and ambiance.Top Notch. Five stars plus.

  • Review 36 (2024-07-25 - Rating: 5)

This family run old style Italian restaurant is a true gem! The food was amazing, I had the special - shrimp risotto, with fresh cream burrata sauce, and grapefruit garnish. Delightful with a bottle of Italina chianti!

  • Review 37 (2022-04-26 - Rating: 5)

Truly an authentic Italian experience from waitstaff to wine and cocktails, food and atmosphere. Will definitely enjoy again!

  • Review 38 (2023-06-01 - Rating: 5)

Great place to dine, especially before a Broadway show (and also without the show). Friendly waiters and great food.

  • Review 39 (2024-03-19 - Rating: 5)

My family enjoyed the most amazing Italian dinner. Prior to seeing Ibsens Enemy of the People at the Circle in the Square Theatre, my siblings & parents (a party of 8) experienced delicious, authentic Italian cuisine.Wonderful service (our waiter was the best), atmosphere & attention to our every request.Every bite was Italian comfort food at its best! The seafood risotto was a highlight! We could not have had a better experience for our first group dinner in NYC - thank you

  • Review 40 (2024-06-06 - Rating: 5)

Had the most amazing Italian dinner. They have a very beautiful outside dining area / porch where you are able to enjoy your meal and look at the hustle and bustle of New York. This restaurant is quite close to all the theaters and is a perfect place to grab a nice meal before a broadway show.

  • Review 41 (2024-05-27 - Rating: 5)

Went here for my wifes 40th birthday. She is a huge fan of Italian food and this was nothing short of outstanding. Service, atmosphere and the food was exceptional. We were with our two kids and it was a very welcoming atmosphere for families. In a great location if you have a broadway show booked.

  • Review 42 (2024-09-19 - Rating: 5)

Alexander at the bar made my experience here so delightful and I highly recommend the gnocchi and tiramisu. I will definitely come back.

  • Review 43 (2024-02-15 - Rating: 5)

We went before a show and had the best experience. We sat at the bar and Alexander was amazing. Great service and very witty as well. He also recommended great wines. I highly recommend this spot for great food and service! I’d add pictures but we already ate and drank all the good food and wine.

  • Review 44 (2018-11-23 - Rating: 5)

This is a phenomenal italian restaurant. You will not find anything quite like it anywhere else. All of the pasta is fresh made and the dishes are so flavorful and complex. My friend and I came here for a dinner date because it was one of the few restaurants that still had some open reservations earlier that day. You dont want to miss this little gem is youre in Manhattan around 48th and 8th.

  • Review 45 (2024-01-27 - Rating: 4)

Tiramisu was the best lentils sude with bread was a nice treat

  • Review 46 (2023-10-01 - Rating: 5)

Amazing experience and the food was out of this world, will be back with more people

  • Review 47 (2024-01-23 - Rating: 5)

Excellent food and tea. The mozzarella appetizer is super fresh. The pasta is home made, fresh, and is very flavorful. The tiramisu is delicious and not overly sweet. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was very nice. I would definitely come back here in a heartbeat. If cost was not a consideration, I would rank them among the top 3 best Italian restaurants I have had in New York, and thats saying something.

  • Review 48 (2024-04-16 - Rating: 4)

This place has good food at reasonable prices for midtown Manhattan near the theater district. We split a Chicken Parmigiana and got a side of broccoli rabe. Both were quite good. Their pre meal bread was good but was served with lentils in olive oil. Certainly an interesting idea, but difficult to get the lentils on the bread.Service was very good and the atmosphere is nice. This is not a Manhattan restaurant where you feel you are jammed into a tight spot.We skipped dessert since we only went for lunch.

  • Review 53 (2024-01-23 - Rating: 5)

My husband and I popped into La Masseria on a recent trip into the city. We called beforehand to make a reservation, but there wasnt one available. The gentleman who answered the phone was so pleasant and enthusiastic my husband still wanted to go and eat at the bar.We got there early (4:30 p.m. on a Saturday); Im so glad we did! The quaint restaurant filled up quickly and was busy until we left. We sat in a cozy corner of the bar, had tasty cocktails and shared a delicious meal. The burrata with prosciutto and tomato appetizer was perfection. The staff was friendly and helpful. Looking forward to visiting La Masseria again.

  • Review 54 (2024-05-13 - Rating: 5)

An amazing Italian restaurant. It did serve very generous portions and we couldn’t finish everything! But it was nevertheless delicious. I would highly recommend!

  • Review 55 (2022-09-29 - Rating: 5)

It totally worth it!! I loved the food in this place! Highly recommended!😉

  • Review 56 (2018-05-27 - Rating: 5)

What makes for a great meal? It’s not only the meal itself, isn’t it? It’s what brought you there, when you couldn’t get fast service at a neighboring restaurant; it’s the service itself (my kind speedy waiter), when having only an hour left before the big show; it’s your loved one across the table, and the atmosphere of busyness right by your shoulder; it’s serenity of a cozy nook where we sat; it’s our short stories to each other, while in between our conversation we would say “try this, isn’t it great”. ...Really, it was. My favorite Italian restaurant in NYC.

  • Review 57 (2024-10-01 - Rating: 4)

Service was great, very attentive but not heavy handed. Food was average. Good, but not great.

  • Review 58 (2024-05-12 - Rating: 5)

La Masseria, located at 235 W 48th St, New York, NY 10036, truly impressed all four of us. We were astounded by the exceptional quality of the food.Let me provide some context for my experience today. As someone who travels extensively, particularly within the USA due to work, I have had the opportunity to dine in some of the finest restaurants across the country.I can confidently say that the Scialatielli with wild mushrooms sauce that I had at La Masseria ranks among the top three pastas Ive ever had in the USA.The presentation was understated yet elegant, the portion size was just right, and the taste was absolutely phenomenal—perfectly al dente with a subtly creamy mushroom sauce. The wine and port selection, along with the recommendations from our server, Pascuale, were impeccable. The ambiance was beautiful and cozy, with a delightful playlist softly playing in the background, making conversation easy.To top it off, the volcano dessert was simply delicious.100% Recommended

  • Review 59 (2024-12-17 - Rating: 5)

This place is top shelf. Food was authentic and service was excellent.

  • Review 60 (2019-04-07 - Rating: 4)

Good ambiance. They will rush you to order and try to rush you out hence one less star. The food comes over super fast. Id come here again. The food was good but not the best Ive had.

  • Review 61 (2024-03-28 - Rating: 5)

Had a really great experience with La Messeria! Staff are very attentive and they do “smile” back at you! :)

  • Review 62 (2023-09-30 - Rating: 4)

Great spot for a proper date. we were recommended this spot by our hotel concierge for an authentic italian w cozy vibes/not try-too-hard and it delivered. the staff were funny and friendly yet extremely professional.unfortunately, to my regret, we didnt get to try their pasta as it was super late when we got there (and who eats carbs at 11 PM? [the italian inside of u is screaming at me en, SIA]), so we settled for a salad w a side of grilled chicken and an actual chicken w a side of a potato/beans/tomato which could have used salt or more seasoning but the chicken itself was perfectly cooked.overall its a grown ups restaurant, proper for introductory dates and great food. will definitely be back to try their pasta this time.oh, almost forgot, the tiramisu was great. it was more of a tiramisu cake, i wouldve liked a bit more of a coffee dip on the base but i guess bc it was a cake they cant leave it in espresso to absorb the flavour as long as lady fingers. anywho, didnt take away from the overall amazing flavour. thanks la masseria server who reminded us to try it.

Excelent food and service. Delicious gnocchi enjoyed!

  • Review 64 (2023-11-14 - Rating: 5)

Truly authentic Italian cuisine and ambience, the restaurant has an old world charm with lots of detail so that you feel like you’re in an old rustic building but with tables clothes and top notice service. Every dish was over the top aromatic with unique flavors and visually stunning.

  • Review 70 (2023-11-05 - Rating: 5)

One of the best meals of my LIFE. This place is a godsend. My entire experience from start to finish was perfect. They happened to have a saffron risotto special on the night I went and it was out of this world. Their limoncello martini is also phenomenal. The atmosphere is lovely, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and location is convenient for seeing a Broadway show. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone I know. Cant wait to come back!

  • Review 71 (2023-06-18 - Rating: 5)

We found this gem and decided to make this place our last dinner spot for our final night, and we are SO glad we did! Location was super great, close to Times Square. All the staff were EXCELLENT and our specific server was fantastic, super personable and informative, on the ball with anything before you even had to ask. All other staff were just as efficient in serving us. I got the chicken parm which was killer, as well as the tirmasu. The espresso martini was one of the BEST I have ever had, which is what our server said they were known for (he was so right)10/10. Will be back next time we visit NYC. Thank you. I would love to name our server but I did not catch his name. Thank you !!!!!! We sat in close proximity to the bar.

  • Review 73 (2022-06-22 - Rating: 5)

Great spot for fine dining. Warm service. Sparkling clean- and that’s impressive considering the volume that this place does daily. Great wine menu. Very spacious and inviting. The food is amazing and features a wide variety of regional specialties. The patio is spacious. There is a large back room that’s semi private with two levels, the back room seats about 60 (40 downstairs and 14 upstairs).

We made reservations weeks in advance. We were seated right away and offered to check our coats. They also confirmed if we were seeing a show and at what time, which was nice so they could ensure we left in time for our show.Service was excellent, very attentive and the food was delicious. I recommend the mozzarella/eggplant appetizer, roasted red peppers wrapped in fresh mozzarella on top of thinly sliced smoked eggplant, fished with Olive oil and fresh basil. My salmon entree was perfectly cooked. For Dessert some of us had tiramisu and others had the sorbet, both good.Coincidentally it was restaurant week so the 3 courses only cost us $45/pp. Only thing is They did not offer this menu, we had to ask. So my guess is if you didnt know, youd miss out. The drinks were around $18 per cocktail but skillfully crafted and packed a punch that justifies the price Imo. One thing that was not so great is that there are only 2 single bathrooms.Overall, good food and cute decor. We will be back.

Loved the food at La Masseria. As a huge fan of ravioli, I must say it exceeded my expectations. The complimentary fresh bread is worth it too. Would definitely visit again!

Excellent! Love the food and the decor. Best place to eat a very nice dinner after a great broadway show.

  • Review 80 (2022-09-01 - Rating: 5)

Wonderful place to have dinner before a show! My husband and I sat upstairs in the terrace area and it was very cozy (albeit a little tight). Food and service were excellent, and we felt like it was a good value for the price. We had a 5:15 reservation but I would suggest coming a little earlier if you are hoping to have dessert before a 7pm show.

The food is delicious if you order the right thing. The pasta is AMAZING! We ordered the rabbit as well and it wasn’t too great. We got the fritto for our appetizer and it also wasn’t our favorite. The service is amazing and you truly feel special while dining here!

  • Review 85 (2024-09-05 - Rating: 5)

Wife and I stumbled across this gem since it was close to a Broadway show we attended. Booked a reservation from our seats before the show started. Everything about the restaurant was fantastic. I normally dont rave about salads but their salad with avocado and corn was unbelievably good. I had the rabbit for my entree since it is rare to see on a menu and it too was excellent. Staff was top notch finding the thin line between being attentive and intrusive. I dont find myself in NYC often but I will absolutely hit La Masseria again

This restaurant is located at walking distance to The Belvedere Hotel. We visited for dinner on the 29th December with friends we have not seen in 20 yrs. It was a very nice meal and very good service. The place was very busy. We felt rushed through the meal. Appetizer portions are big and can be easily shared. This will allow room for the main course and dessert. It’s expensive, but worth it. Specials menu constantly change but we recommend the Branzino, artichoke salad, seafood mix appetizer, octopus, clams and linguini, as well as the desserts. We recommend this restaurant and will visit again when in the Big City.

  • Review 87 (2024-10-16 - Rating: 4)

The service is professional and friendly. The atmosphere is a cozy fine dining feeling. The food was good, however my party and I had some items that were overcooked or tough. But the flavors were clean and fresh. I would recommend this restaurant.

What more can I say but a great experience. Ate here before Harry Potter Broadway show and was seated promptly at our table. They accommodated easily to make sure we were on time for the show. The love of my life and I both had two rav entrees and they were great authentic Italian home made pasta dishes. We also started with the meatballs. They were good but still no Birravino. Speciality bourbon cocktails were fantastic. Great restaurant to be in with a greta person :) . Highly recommend

Excellent Italian restaurant within walking distance of Time Square in NY City. Hearty dishes, well executed traditional Italian recipes and nice atmosphere. The only caveat for the winter months is to avoid the tables near the entrance, but definitely worth a try!

Superb service. This Italian restaurant is a wonderful choice for NYC Restaurant Week this winter. My hubby and I enjoyed our lunch tremendously. All dishes served were bursting with flavors. I got the mozzarella appetizer, thick pasta with eggplant (filling and delicious) and the fruits with sherbet. My husband ordered the salmon, and the cream was really tasty, and complemented with the eggplant. The manager took time to make sure everything was well, and helped us with our question on the wine selection. The tiramisu is awesome (and we dont really like tiramisu.)Perfect!

What a wonderful dining experience. Everything. They accommodated us by giving us a different table The kind bartender. The wonderful ambiance. We couldn’t have been happier about our experience… And that doesn’t even begin to talk about the food! Simply amazing!!!The bread with lentils and infused rosemary olive oil was divine. The burrata special, with smoked prosciutto, was wonderful. Next came frisée salad and bolognese (which we split). Don’t let the $$$ star scare you off to this gem. You will not go away hungry if you split meals. Our server, Alejandro, was as equally good as the food, if not better. Our total bill was $140 and that included a couple drinks…a deal for good food in New York.

Decided to visit an Italian place after a Broadway show. Walked in and was pleasantly surprised at the design and decor. Waiter and staff was very friendly. Appetizers and dinners were very good, albeit a bit on the salty side. We had fun with the bartender and played with a few Japanese Whiskeys and Old-Fashioned. Would recommend and go again.

Was looking for a place with outside dining in midtown and just happen to be walking by this beautiful Italian restaurant. I was skeptical at first due to not seeing any customers outside but I decided to give it a chance. As soon as I came to ask for details on the menu they explained everything very thoroughly, I went ahead with they’re grilled aged prime rib eye steak(Medium Rare) which was seasoned very well, brought a lot of flavor and to drink I had a lemonade. The waiter who attended me was very attentive, gave very good recommendations and also did me the favor of charging my phone. Overall very happy with service and food. I definitely will be coming back

Great food, great service, little pricey and worth every penny! The halibut was to die for; the spinach and mashed potatoes were incredible as well. The triple seafood appetizer was the best we have tasted. And the waitors wine suggestion was perfect. The rest of the serving staff was quite attentive. Thanks for one of the best anniversary meals ever!!!!

This was the perfect dinner before a show. The ambiance is very warm and welcoming and the service was expertly paced. Of course the food was wonderful as well, I recommend trying the scialatielli with a glass of your preferred red wine.

  • Review 109 (2018-05-11 - Rating: 5)

Excellent place with amazing food (as some reviewers noted some food can be on the greasier side (just a tad) but it’s still good). Pasta with eggplant and mozzarella cheese with tomato based sauce is my favorite. Very fast service if needed. We had a Broadway show and had only 45 mins for dinner. The waiter was super fast, prob faster than we were. Everything was on the table as soon as we ordered it. The interior is nicely decorated and they also have seating outside. Definitely recommended.

Fantastic. My wife and I were trying to grab a quick bite before our show and just stumbled to this restaurant. It was packed but our luck there were two seats left at the bar. Our bar tender was very professional and very friendly. I asked her to give us advice. She picked our food and wine ... And it was fantastic. The service was fast.. I highly recommend it.Update:We were there January 29 2022..Its still amazing.. its still friendly and fast service . Great atmosphere.. awesome food.

The atmosphere in the place is great and the servers do a great job to make birthdays special. I had the Penne Masseria (they let me swap the penne for fussili, which was a good choice). It was so so good! Definitely coming back

Wow! Tears of joy and happiness are an understatement when you eat here.Let me paint a picture for you all. After walking over 17 miles from WTC to the MET, and then back towards times square, I was in dire need of nourishment. On pure chance of walking by, I walked into La Masseria to be greeted by Vitto. I asked if there was a table and if it was ok to eat here with a T-shirt on (for the record, if he said no I would have respected this - which is why I asked first)We were seated outside, under the heat lamps that were affixed to the outside covering ( I asked to be seated outside) the waiter (Ronald) was straight to the point, giving suggestions, options, and explaining how they have tastings to ensure they can provide the best service. There were so many wonderful options available that it was extremely difficult to make a decision.. I went with the Bocconcini di Pollo Paesano, and my date opted for the Schiaffoni al Ragu di Tracchiole. From the first bite to the last bite... Pure bliss. The flavor was intense but not over powering. The beef was fork tender and delicious. The Al dente pasta was spot on. Chicken and sausage were very juicy while they bathed in their light wine sauce, accompanied with peppers and mushrooms.I cried a littleI cried a little moreWhen my meal was over, (after I soaked up my tears with bread) I contemplated ordering another meal to take back to the hotel.I cried again when I realized that I could not have this tomorrow night because of my flight out of here, but I will be back!!!I will be back, hungry, willing and able.I will be back to continue to navigate my journey to try all the dishes here.So if you are ever in the neighborhood, stop in with your collared shirt, and even a pair of hey dudes and order away, you will not be disappointed. And thank you to everyone there. You are all wonderful..

The wait staff truly knew the food selections well and helped me make the best selections. I will eat here again and again! Thank you La Masseria!!!

Weve dined here multiple times and it never fails to deliver...quality food, attentive table service and pricing justified. Super convenient if youre getting dinner after a show and theyve accommodated our requests to sit upstairs in a cozy loft area that overlooks the main dining room.

  • Review 127 (2012-07-18 - Rating: 4)

Pasta dishes are terrific but service was way off the night we visited. Host kept us waiting while he and a manager argued about the computer. We were seated at a table with no chairs and had to stand there while they scrounged them up. Server did not stop at the table for at least ten minutes. Not just us, another table decided to leave rather than wait any longer for their meals.Too bad. I have had wonderful meals at their RI location.

  • Review 133 (2020-01-20 - Rating: 5)

Delicious home made thin fettuccini noodles with a light red sauce and sausage with tiny meatballs. Our second entree was home made gnocchi. Very attentive service, nice choice of wines by the glass and bottle. A variety of desserts. Located just outside Times Square in the heart of the theatre district. If you want reliable, delicious Italian cuisine, La Masseria will make you happy.

Omg they are soooo good. Their clam pasta (cant remember the actual dish name) is truly amazing and fresh (we ordered 3! 🙈. The elephant ears pasta was also amazing. Authentic Italian dishes! My husband and I had an amazing time sharing a bottle of wine (great wine list) and not to forget the staff is absolutely lovely. I had my 2yo and a 5yo with me and they catered to them from the second we stepped in. The patio is nice and elegant and the atmosphere was great. The lady hostess is very nice. Prices are reasonable BTW. We will be visiting again.

  • Review 140 (2023-01-08 - Rating: 4)

The restaurant is very nice!! Awesome spot and great location right before watching Hamilton Broadway show. Its just a couple minutes away walking distance. Restaurant is beautiful and feels up scale. Small and quaint. Food was really delicious! Be mindful pretty much all protein is a separate dish than pasta. My sisters ordered chicken parmesan which was served with potatoes and broccoli, which I think is a bit of an odd combo but the chicken actually was extremely delicious. I ordered risotto which came with no protein at all, and was served with sliced pears. Also a strange combo, but the risotto was also extremely delicious. My sisters gave me a piece of their chicken (as it was a really big piece) and I can say that with my risotto were something Id go back just to eat. Service was good and you are well attended for. Pricey restaurant but thats what you expect when eating in the city. If youre going for the experience and a light lunch, this restaurant will suit. Would make for a nice date night as well. Id go back again for a special occassion! We spent about $250 (pre tip) for 3 people and that included appetizer, 1 glass of sangria each, and 2 desserts.

  • Review 141 (2016-07-02 - Rating: 5)

I had the linguini with baby clams and it was delicious. Cooked a little more al dente than I am used to but I think it was perfect for the dish.It is a relaxed atmosphere and a great place to enjoy a long leisurely dinner. The waitstaff is attentive yet invisible. I made the faux pas of ordering one more thing after the check was brought and they were gracious and accommodating. The wine list is extensive. I ordered one of the cheaper wines on the menu ($42/bottle) and I found it was wonderful. I imagine that it is a very well curated list despite its length.I will go again.

Recommend 10/10!! Went here on a Sunday night with three of my friends. I can definitely say with confidence this deserves five stars. We ordered burrato, calamari, and a ceaser salad for appetizers. All were delicious and well prepared. The service was incredible and had a personal touch to it. The waiter spoke Italian, Spanish, and English which was very helpful for those in my party. My friends and I ordered pasta dishes and a chicken parm. I loved my dish and so did they, we agreed the meals all tasted fresh and authentic. For dessert we got tiramisu and cheesecake. The cheesecake was astounding. My favorite dessert by far. Tiramisu was perfect. Overall I will try to revisit this amazing restaurant and enjoyed my evening! Our server Omar did not disappoint!

Just far enough from TS, I knew the evening would be memorable as we walked up to the softly lit and luring entry door to be seated by our host.Wait Staff and Manager: *****Professional, well-dressed, knowledgeable and attentive to the max. Crumb scraping is not extinct!Food & Wine Selection:*****Thank you for not offering a 10 page book of entrees! I recommend the Chicken Marsala, but wished I had ordered seafood. Creme Brulee, Tiramisu...awesome.Decor: I want the designer to give my home a make-over.Thank you, La Masseria! I have dined around the world and any review less than a 4.5 is given by a snob.

After seeing, Hamilton, at the Richard Rogers Theater, La Masseria was the perfect ending to a wonderful time in the city. The staff here are genuine and truly provide the most attentive service. The atmosphere is inviting and warm. But the pierre de resistance was the meal. Appetizers were a fun prelude to the entrée which quiet honestly left me wanting more! The Risotto was so comforting and done to perfection. Dessert? I will let the photo speak!!Thank you, Vito and the entire staff for your gracious hospitality.

By far, the best Italian restaurant in the city, and I’ve tried many. Service is authentic, food is fresh and home made. Checking all points for a wonderful night.

Great ambience and food. I recommend the gnocchi and the tiramisu.

We have eaten here a few times. The food is above average. The servers tend to be attentive and helpful. Rather small restaurant and wait lines can be long.

What a wonderful evening.Manager Giuseppe Rossi, the consummate professional, learned everything available on the internet regarding systemic nickel allergy syndrome after my call to him last night with concerns about eating there. Tonight I had a magnificent dinner that was completely safe and as I write during intermission at the show, Moulin Rouge, Im able to enjoy myself without any terrible consequences from you the food. Thats a pretty rare experience for me for which I am most grateful to La Masseria, the chef, the staff that were also attentive, Giuseppe and of course my wonderful date Roy.

Loved it. Make a reservation if you want to eat here. We were lucky because it was Presidents day. No business man. Real Italian food in New York.
