One of my favorite spots in the city and definitely the best place for pasta! The ricotta with apple compote butter was super delicious. We enjoyed the hanger steak, a couple of pasta plates and a side of brussel sprouts which were perfect for two. I will be coming back as soon as possible

L’Artusi truly exceeded our expectations! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The food was nothing short of spectacular—every dish was perfectly crafted, with rich flavors and beautiful presentation. The service was impeccable as well. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly, ensuring we felt taken care of throughout the entire meal.If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience with top-notch food and exceptional service, La Artusi is the place to go. Highly recommended, and we can’t wait to return!

Went to the renowned @lartusi for brunch and was surprised by how chaotic and busy the place was. First floor was packed from groups of people waiting to be seated or walking in to score a table.Overall, I really enjoyed the pasta because the noodles had amazing texture and the sauces were unique and delicious. I’d be interested to try more in the future, but will probably not be ordering other non-pasta items.

  • Review 4 (2024-10-19 - Rating: 5)

Great pasta, decent portions, nice vibes. Good dessert menu as well. Good service doesn’t disappoint. Can be a bit loud and busy during peak hours - tables are placed quite close to each other that the servers have a hard time moving in between and you can hear every word people say.

  • Review 5 (2024-11-21 - Rating: 5)

Food was delicious! We had the Cacio e Pepe and Tagliatelle pasta plus the trifle for dessert! Staff were so friendly and even gave us a glass of champagne as it was our honeymoon. Restaurant atmosphere was all great. Highly recommend.

  • Review 6 (2024-12-29 - Rating: 5)

A stunning Italian dining experience that blends unique flavors with classic Italian fare. The seating is snug and cozy with an intimate vibe, and the service is warm and accommodating. The Wagyu Carpaccio appetizer was an instant standout - delicate, melt-in-your-mouth slices of rich Wagyu paired with crispy shallots for added texture and a creamy horseradish sauce that tied everything together. As for the pastas, the Cacio e Pepe was so perfect with creamy cheese with just the right amount of spice, while the Tagliatelle was also enjoyable with its thin & tender noodles and hearty bolognese sauce. Another highlight of the meal was the olive oil cake, a memorable dessert that had a fluffy texture and a subtle olive oil undertone.Overall, a truly unforgettable Italian meal with unique and wonderful flavors!

Loved the food, didn’t love the wait.Worth a visit I think, and will revisit to try their other menus as well but be prepared to wait.We arrived several minutes later than our reservation time, yet had to wait 20min to get our seats, then another 10min for the server to finally notice us (when seating another table next to us) to bring water and menus. But once the food was ordered, everything was much faster. There were a lot of frustrated diners crowding the lobby before and after our meal, who would often check in with the host on the status of their tables, so I don’t this was a one off experience just for us. Also had a glimpse of their system and they pack the table schedules in so tight, with no buffer between seatings. You’re bound to wait here.As for the food, we ordered 2 pastas, 2 appetizers, and 1 glass of wine for lunch, coming at a total of $100 before tax/tip for two. Reasonable for the area and food quality. No complaints on the food whatsoever, it was good portioned and tasty.

  • Review 8 (2024-09-10 - Rating: 4)

This has been on my list for so long and happy to say it did not disappoint! Tried out the buccatini and carbonara, and the burratta salad. Salad was yummy, the ingredients were so fresh. I wish we got more of it! The pastas were also great, perfectly portioned and we were able to finish both of our dishes. We topped it off with orange blossom panna cottage cheese and salted chocolate cake, both exquisite. Chocolate cake was not too sweet, although it was kind of heavy after such a carb filled meal haha. Panna cotta on the other hand was so light. Loved it.

I would prefer to leave a review via email since, coming from a restaurant family, Id rather give feedback privately, but I couldnt find an email address online. Our food was good! Would have been great if the bread was warm and the steak and pasta came out hot.Ambiance was lovely, our server was the biggest challenge with the evening. She wasnt additive to the experience and we felt rushed through every decision and every course. All in all we enjoyed and will definitely be back again. If you shoot me an email address Im happy to delete my review from here and provide feedback privately instead :)

We went on a weeknight at 9:15pm and it was packed. It was unpleasantly loud and you had to shout to be heard. The dinner got off to a disappointing start when we got served some stale-tasting focaccia. The cocktails were nice but too expensive. The fresh pasta and olive oil cake then redeemed the restaurant somewhat. Overall, I think it’s a good restaurant but overrated.

  • Review 11 (2024-09-19 - Rating: 4)

Delicious Italian food, worth grabbing a resy!Had a 5:30 reservation on a Thursday night and was quickly seated upon arrival. We were seated outside and it was actually SO nice. We ordered the cacio e pepe, tagliatelle, house made focaccia, and a fresh salad (cannot for the life of me remember the name but it had watermelon & blackberries and it was delicious). It’s definitely a popular spot for a reason. The food was delicious and the service was just attentive enough. My favorite was the salad and the tagliatelle, but I don’t think you can go wrong with anything here.Grab a resy when you can ☺️

  • Review 12 (2024-09-26 - Rating: 5)

The wagyu carpaccio and octopus was to die for! I’d go back just for those two items. Great flavors and balance of textures. The Octopus was cooked perfectly. The bucatini and rib eye were really good but nothing special - just cooked very nicely and solid flavors.

  • Review 13 (2024-09-02 - Rating: 5)

I had a really lovely dinner here. All the appetizers were delicious and my pasta was yummy. The mocktail was one of the best Ive had too. The service was very good too and the atmosphere here is good.

  • Review 14 (2024-07-17 - Rating: 4)

4.5. Sat at the bar, attentive servers although they changed frequently so couldnt br 100% sure who was the main server. Food was excellent, particularly the Spaghetti and Cacio Pepe. Service was quite quick so the meal went possibly a touch rapid and they missed a wine of the bill so had to get this corrected, but overall excellent food and would reccomend from this perspective.

  • Review 15 (2024-06-12 - Rating: 5)

Overall, amazing. The pastas were underwhelming but otherwise, wow? The chicken was just mind blowing and their desserts were beautiful. Good wine too! So I wouldnt suggest it for a huge meal but I would recommend for a intimate dinner and beautiful setting.

  • Review 16 (2024-06-17 - Rating: 5)

My one worry is that this place might ruin Italian food for us forever. It was such a memorable night of outstanding dishes I’m afraid all the next places will disappoint us. Pro tip, if there’s a long wait tip toe down to their sister site b’artusi and grab a cocktail and the chefs selection meat & cheese board, we stumbled upon here, didn’t notice the name as we entered but were pleasantly surprised when we had to rush to our table and take our plate to go. OK back to the main big deal. We started with a bottle of Chianti, the Wagyu Carpaccio, Burrata, and Roasted Mushrooms - each of these came out fast and at the same time. We would have preferred a staggered approach as we felt a little rushed to get to each one. Our waitress was good enough but only because we didn’t let her attitude offend us. We shared 2 pastas this is the best approach by far! We had the Tagliatelle and the Pici ‘cacio E Pepe with each bite we couldn’t pick a favorite they complimented each other soooo well. We finished with the Pana Cota and a glass of port. The Pana Cota should not be skipped it was a star of the show! Thank you l’Artusi and b’Artusi for a wonderful night!

  • Review 17 (2024-03-26 - Rating: 5)

You don’t often find such a popular restaurant actually live up to the hype but L’Artusi does! Incredible value for the quality of food and flavors. Everything was great and exceeded my expectations. Favorites were the spaghetti, bucatini, cacio e pepe, and olive oil cake. Honorable mentions for the focaccia, fresh cookies, and scallops. We ordered 11 dishes & 4 drinks, and it came out to $100 pp.

  • Review 18 (2024-07-28 - Rating: 4)

I had very high expectations. Prices were high but fair for the location. I ordered the Cacio e Pepe and the portion was realy small in my opinion. The taste was good but not spectacular so in the end I think 4 stars is a fair review. Service was attentive and easy to speak to.

  • Review 19 (2024-12-21 - Rating: 5)

I accidentally told my boyfriend wrong reservation time, totally my fault.Since before Christmas,I thought impossible to switch my time.(When I asked this early evening, they said tonight fully booked, won’t be able to push my time)When I got there I told my situation and tried to cancel. But host were so kind and they switched my reservation time.I really really appreciate it.Even before eating dinner already I felt so happy, choose this restaurant.Thank you very much for understanding.

  • Review 20 (2024-07-21 - Rating: 4)

I’d been to L’Artusi for dinner but this was my first time for brunch. I came with a friend and the noise level was quite high, with several groups sitting around us.I ordered the Tagliatelle - Bolognese Bianco, Parmigiano ($26+), which was very tasty—both the sauce and the pasta. It wasn’t a large portion size, though, considering I am normally unable to finish pasta dishes in one sitting and was able to with this one.If you’re looking for brunch with a group of friends with good pasta, L’Artusi could be a good option for brunch.

  • Review 21 (2023-07-02 - Rating: 4)

Love this restaurant, the atmosphere is good, not to loud, cocktails on point not too sweet. The staff is attentive they always smile to you. I really like the food. Love the desserts. The only reason I’m giving 4 starts is the flavor of the Cacio E Pepe (I won’t ordered again) had to put a lot of Parmesan cheese on it to cover the fatty taste, was so greasy it taste like pure oil. But I’ll definitely will come again to this restaurant.

  • Review 22 (2023-07-20 - Rating: 5)

We came here for our anniversary and it is gorgeous!Super friendly and informative staff (they even gifted us with complimentary champagne and a delicious creamy cheese, peach and buttery cracker dish that blew our minds!)The food was great, the flavour combinations were things I’ve never experienced and was a really nice memory for our anniversary.Would highly recommend and we will return for sure.

  • Review 23 (2024-06-23 - Rating: 5)

Had a brunch here and adored it. The pancakes are so soft and delicious. The meat and the cocktails perfect as well. Every plate that passed close to us looked insanely delicious. Reservation is highly suggested!

  • Review 24 (2023-06-11 - Rating: 5)

Incredible from start to finish, including service. Focaccia was so soft, had a bit of a salty kick. Little gem salad was light and refreshing, really enjoyed the radishes. For the main, the waitress said dont skip the roasted chicken & im so glad I listened. It was the BEST chicken Ive ever had, blackened skin & so flavorful.Pastas - cacio e Pepe noodles were thick, sauce was creamy and heavy on the peppercorn. Spaghetti was also extremely creamy and the chilis added a nice kick as well. The breadcrumb topping was uniqueDesserts - olive oil cake was a surprise standout. Light & fluffy. Salted chocolate cake was moist & a great combo of flavor (didnt care for the popcorn). Seasonal sundae was strawberry shortcake with biscuits and basil. Didnt love the basil at first but after a few bites it was so refreshing and worked together so well

  • Review 25 (2024-06-09 - Rating: 5)

Worth all the hype❣️😻😭🥹 it was amazing!! It was the best cacio e pepe!!! the olive cake is must get🥹 Ill def visit many more times since I wanna try their all other menus🤎

  • Review 26 (2023-04-06 - Rating: 5)

Deserving of its reputation (and impossible to get reservations) dishes came out looking and tasting great. A little snag when wrong pasta came out was corrected quickly, though the replacement was a little undercooked. All the desserts hit the spot, one of the best olive cakes in the city, gotta come back to try others.Service was attentive and knowledgeable about dishes, water quickly refilled. Skylight was nice, though with a view of the AC condensers and a dirty cloth.

  • Review 27 (2024-11-13 - Rating: 5)

I stopped in here for drinks after work last week and it was packed! Luckily I only needed a seat at the bar and found it quickly. The service from my bartender, Shablu, was impeccable and the cocktails were worth the value. If I were hungry I would have ordered food because the menu looks great. One of the managers, Sean, made it a point to check on everyone at the bar and I always appreciate such attentive service. Would definitely come again.

  • Review 28 (2024-07-08 - Rating: 5)

What an amazing dinner! The tagliatelle was one of the best bolognese sauces i have ever had! Also highly recommend the mushroom pasta and butter lettuce salad

  • Review 29 (2023-08-13 - Rating: 5)

One of my favorite Italian spots in NYC. Cozy and lively ambience with solid service, nothing special but no complaints either. The food was definitely the highlight as it should be! Amazing appetizers and amazing mains. Tagliatelle was my favorite, the noodles were bouncy and chewy, slightly more than al dente as I prefer. Their focaccia was also super delicious. Its hard to pick favorites for Italian food in NYC, but if youre planning a date night, I would definitely recommend trying it out!

  • Review 30 (2023-02-02 - Rating: 5)

Hands down one of my absolute favorite places in NYC. Loved everything we ordered and will certainly be back.Mushroom ragu garganelli, burrata toast and olive cake were stunning. As a person who does not like raisins- this olive oil cake still wowed even if you don’t eat the raisins full on. I tried some for the sake of trying the complete trio and was impressed nonetheless. Stellar job!

  • Review 31 (2023-05-30 - Rating: 5)

I came to L’Artusi with a large party for a birthday, and it was tremendous! From the atmosphere, service, and food, my experience was nothing but positive. The atmosphere: is modern yet traditional. There is a great large bar, but the booth seating is incredibly comfortable. The staff: were all friendly and attentive. One of the dishes served was too rare for a member in my party, and the server made sure the mistake was corrected and appropriately taken care of.The food: was delicious. We ordered a bunch of the shareable small plates to start, and I got the bolognese. Every dish had lots of flavor, and were present beautifully.

  • Review 32 (2023-10-31 - Rating: 5)

100% RECOMMENDED. One of the best, again. It was the ‘correct’ authentic carbonara. Not too cheesy, just the right balance of taste and texture. Roasted mushroom was also delicious and scentful. OLIVE OUL cake was undeniably unique, delicate, delightful. Cant miss at New York!

  • Review 33 (2023-12-04 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely amazed by the creativeness of each dish and they are all very savory. Service was superb too. This experience was way better than many Michelin starred restaurants.

  • Review 34 (2023-05-17 - Rating: 5)

This place exceeded my expectations. After a disappointing experience at another high end Italian restaurant, I didn’t have high hopes but was pleasantly surprised. It’s got a great atmosphere and our server was friendly, providing great recommendations. We went all in on the pasta, ordering three - the spaghetti, bucatini, and garganelli. All were excellent - perfectly cooked with a nice bite and wonderful blend of flavors. The spaghetti was the stand out, which they gave a lovely seasonal twist to by adding ramps. For dessert we shared their acclaimed olive oil cake, which is probably the best I’ve had. I will return.

  • Review 35 (2023-02-13 - Rating: 5)

So worth all the hype! I dont usually opt for Italian food but LArtusi has set the bar extremely high.My boyfriend and I split the Roasted Mushrooms, Garganelli and Spaghetti. I thought both mushroom dishes were really unique and tasty. The Spaghetti was also delicious and struck a perfect balance between cheese and oil.For dessert, we got the Salted Chocolate Cake. The cake itself was a little bit dry but perfect with the bourbon gelato. There are very few restaurants I would go to more than once in NYC and LArtusi is definitely one of them. The reservation might be difficult to secure but honestly so worth the effort!

  • Review 36 (2023-10-24 - Rating: 4)

Its a very busy restaurant usually the wait is ~30-45 min. The food here was amazing I loves everything we ordered. I personally really enjoyed the corn dish and the mushroom dish (pasta was great too but I like the other two more). The only complain I had was that the restaurant was a little too loud and seats were too crowded, not a very pleasant dining environment. Overall, its a great restaurant but Id avoid busy hours to enjoy my meal more.

  • Review 37 (2024-04-24 - Rating: 5)

Service was great, food was solid. Nothing too creative or unique food pairing but nicely executed and well balanced classics. They have multiple floors and different vibes in each section. I can see this place perfect for larger parties, first date, of just cute lunch/dinner spots!

  • Review 38 (2024-12-22 - Rating: 5)

Sat at the bar and the tender was great. Not overly talkative, she was experienced and generous. The food was fantastic. The Nero was probably my favorite, the squid ink and nori gave the toothy pasta a lovely touch of the ocean. The tagliatelle ragu was one of the better Ive had in the neighborhood. If I had to complain about anything, the focaccia came out literally cold and hard. Seemed to be such an anamoly compared to everything else that perhaps staff just goofed on this small app item, because it felt so stale and rubbery (flavor was on point).9/10 would def go back

  • Review 39 (2024-12-13 - Rating: 5)

This could be the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. The food this so good! Our server was fantastic! The only reason I gave the atmosphere 4 stars, it was very loud. The could have been just that night. But it’s a busy place. Would highly recommend!

  • Review 40 (2024-04-01 - Rating: 5)

What an incredible experience. the place is packed all night long and serving the best squid ink pasta i’ve had. strachiatella and fig toast along with the mushrooms are essential too. the cheesecake for dessert hit home. fabulous wine list too. must go!

  • Review 41 (2024-06-12 - Rating: 5)

What a great experience to come and visit L’ArtusiDefinitely worth the hype and the waitThe food was phenomenal and the service was above and beyond what I expected even down to the small details. The Wagyu carpaccio was delish and provided such a flavor profile that I could not even put into wordsThe black quid ink pasta was a the most memorable bite I have had from any pasta place in the last few months. If you are in the area and looking to try a new amazing place I recommend L’Artusi

  • Review 42 (2023-08-26 - Rating: 5)

Delicious unpretentious food with a bright, sophisticated decor and reasonable prices. One of the best values for Italian-inspired meals, as the flavors are a huge step-up compared to others at similar price points. The mushroom garganelli was the right thickness to have a “snappy texture”. The ricotta came with an elevated, tastier version of Cheez-Its. Unfortunately, I found the olive oil cake massively overhyped, and the fruit in the focaccia felt a tad weird.

  • Review 43 (2023-12-07 - Rating: 5)

Refreshing exquisite place for Italian tastes.Originally booked for 2 but unfortunately my guest fell under the weather so ended up going alone for lunch. The front desk was super nice and gave me the option to keep the table which I happily did.Appetizer: roasted mushroomsMost umami thing I tasted for a while I would say. There are 4 types of mushrooms and I tasted fried bits of chili and pancetta, which together with shredded aged ricotta, is one indulgence on its own, let along the sunny side up egg! The crunchiness from pancetta+ tenderness from mushroom + savory and spice from chili and peppers + creaminess from the egg yolk = my ultimate happiness.Pasta: bucatini NeroSquid ink pasta with seafood topped with breadcrumbs. The pasta is great; the color really added some points for my appetite. Its flavor tasted really familiar to me so I spent couple of minutes digging in my memory: it reminds of the flavor profile from supreme pizza (no kidding). Large chunks of crab and tomato scattered on top of cooked pasta + sauce with a tiny acidity that evaluates the taste + breadcrumbs for texture. Fun, familiar, and addictive: I personally liked it, and I wonder what other pastas taste like now.Dessert: Olive Oil CakeFinally a place without tiramisu so I don’t have to make a hard choice. Love love love their pairings of olive oil cake. The cake is sprinkled with powdered sugar, paired with sugar syruped raisins and crème fraîche. Their pastry chef is a genius to pair the cake with crème fraîche! The olive oil cake itself tasted like a pound cake (unlike the fluffier one I had in Rezdora). It is good but not memorable, unless you eat with the raisin and the crème fraîche. It is the most bold and creamy crème fraîche I tasted. (They certainly didn’t skimp on fat content of these things). It leaves me wanting to come back for another round. The servers were nice and the seatings are reasonably scattered. Still a bit tight between tables but manageable to not rub elbows. I will come back for more pasta and another round of mushroom and olive oil cake!

  • Review 44 (2022-08-27 - Rating: 5)

Was able to snag a reservation last minute after hearing so many raving reviews… and boy did it live up to the hype. The service was actually solid - we always were attended to and had fantastic recommendations from our waiter. As for the food, the burrata was the highlight of the appetizers we selected. Sooo good, would definitely come back for this dish alone. In terms of pasta, we got the Rigatoni, Pici nero, and Cacio e pepe - each one was uniquely delicious. Noodles were amazingly al dente and paired with such yummy, creamy sauce. Ugh if only the portions were larger. As for dessert, we were hesitant at first to try the olive oil cake, but after some convincing from our waiter, we got it… and my goodness is it fluffy and smooth! Was not expecting it to be so light but we loved it.Overall, one of our favorite Italian restaurants in the city. Would 100% come back.

  • Review 45 (2023-02-01 - Rating: 4)

Cocktail-wise: I really enjoyed both the High Pines & Grove Court. Their Tuscan wine by-the-glass was also notable! Branzino was cooked perfectly, although I think my favorite dish of the night was their spaghetti. The spaghetti had chilies for a light touch of spice that I loved. Dessert was pretty great! Service was quick.

  • Review 46 (2023-12-24 - Rating: 5)

Food, simple and fantastic. Service was some of the best I’ve experienced. Everything was accounted for and everyone met us with a smile. We sat at the counter facing the kitchen, and just watching the whole team work together, you can tell this is a well oiled machine.Fantastic night. Thank you L’Artusi team!

We FINALLY got a reservation here and the wait was worth it. All our friends have told us to get the Wagyu Carpaccio but they were out unfortunately. Ended up going with the Burrata to start which was fresh and delicious. Had to get a couple pasta dishes and went with the Capellacci and the Garganelli. The latter was my favorite but both very good. The Scallops take the cake here. The carrot purée was out of this world. The Brussels sprouts with lemon and pecorino were amazing too. So so so good and will be back.Contorni- Brussels Sprouts w/ lemon, pecorinoPesce- Scallops

Started off a little rocky as nobody was taking our order, but the food was delicious. We ordered two pasta dishes and wanted to soak up the sauce with some bread. We asked the server for some bread and he said there wasnt any unless we bought a large focaccia bread. He hesitated and then before we said anything, he told us to hold on and went into the kitchen. He came out with a small plate of bread and it ended up being complimentary! Huge thanks to the waiter and he was very kind.We enjoyed our time here and while the dim lighting isnt so good for taking photos of food, it creates a great atmosphere for date night!

  • Review 49 (2023-03-26 - Rating: 4)

We came here for brunch as a party of 4 and this place got packed very quickly. Make reservations! Service was great and our server was really friendly and accommodating. She gave us good recommendations for brunch and answered any questions we had. This place is known for their pastas especially the cacio pepe. However, I don’t think this is a brunch spot to go to unless you are very hungry. This looks to be a better dinner spot with a dinner heavy menu. The menu felt like it was more of on the dinner forward side than the traditional brunch side.

  • Review 50 (2023-06-18 - Rating: 5)

Didnt believe it at first when my foodie friend told me that the best pasta place in NYC exists. I went to West Village to try LArtusi for first time and can clearly confirm that my friend was right. This is home to be best pasta you could find in New York. I ordered 4 pasta dishes: tajarin carbonara ( egg, black pepper, speck, scallion ), garganelli ( mushroom ragu, ricotta salata), tagliatelle (bolognese bianco, parmigiano), and bucatini (pancetta, tomato, chilies, pecorino). Every dish was cooked to perfection and left a unique tasting note for each. My favorite is undeniably the carbonara!

  • Review 51 (2024-12-26 - Rating: 5)

As great as everyone says it is. Get the garganelli but everything is amazing. Our server heard my friend say I recently got married and gave us a glass of spumanti. What a gem! Can’t wait to go back again!

  • Review 52 (2024-12-01 - Rating: 5)

I went couple of times and never got disappointed. I definitely recommend their Caccio and Pepe dish. They also have nice wine. It is better to book a table but they managed to find us a table for two even if we just walked in. Team is nice and professional. Thank you again.

  • Review 53 (2023-09-29 - Rating: 5)

Walked in for weekday lunch for two and was able to get a seat immediately - the pastas are indisputably delicious, especially the mushroom ragu. Olive oil cake is indulgent and will make you wish calories didn’t count. Service is friendly and atmosphere is bustling.

  • Review 54 (2023-08-27 - Rating: 5)

The pasta here is top notch. The flavors here are bold and unique, while the pasta is perfectly cooked al dente. Can confidently recommend the bucatini and rigatoni. The apps are also good for sharing. Our waitstaff were excellent, but we had issues calling in for reservations for groups larger than 6. The phone was not consistently picked up during the advertised hours. Our reserved table was also not ready for 25 minutes, and our group was offered complimentary champagne. Atmosphere is loud, crowded, and chaotic on a Friday evening.

  • Review 55 (2022-07-03 - Rating: 4)

Came in for lunch on a weekend and was surprised I could get a seat at the bar with no wait. Started with some drinks which were excellent then the ricotta which was average. The tagliatelle was amazing so I highly recommend ordering that however the carbonara was a bit salty but still good.

  • Review 56 (2022-07-06 - Rating: 5)

Wow. Just wow. This place is amazing. Easily one of the top 5 pasta places in the city for me.AMBIANCE + SERVICELocated in a two floor cute building with beautiful decor and intimate spacing, this place is a stunner. I love that they incorporated skylights to add an airiness to the restaurant. The staff is impeccable. I loved our waitress and she was incredibly helpful in navigating the menu and picking a few dishes we would like. She was super kind and helpful throughout our dinner. Moreover, at this price point, I was surprised by the attentiveness we received. Our water was continually filled, our table was cleaned between courses. Everything was wonderful and perfect.FOODThe food matched the service. I dont understand how some reviewers are saying that this isnt anything special -- because it certainly is. The food was 10/10.We got the carpaccio which was a perfect, light way to start the meal. Then we got the mushroom pasta with shavings of riccota on top which was wonderful. We also got the Nero squid ink pasta which was a real winner as well. To finish it off, we got the signature olive oil cake which was delicious. Will be back here to try the other dishes including the sorbet dessert and the other pastas. One thing I have to say is, definitely get the pastas when you dine here! Cant go wrong

I love the wagyu tartar. Its the best one i had. We did order a lot. And they serve a great spaghetti. The staff is also very nice with their service. The moctails is also very great. A great place for brunch

It was good, but honestly on par with whatever local italian places you have in your neighborhood. also do not get confused with b’artusi on the corner, the font makes it look like l’artusi.the foccacia was disappointing. cold and not very fresh. it tasted fine but was not crispy or warm or fluffy. the tuna crudo was light and citrusy. the wagyu tartare (special) was very good and rich. the bucatini nero was fine, the chicken was also fine, a kind of very classic “safe” option. the desserts were okay as well, the chocolate cinnamon cookies didnt taste of cinnamon at all but were good chocolate chip cookies. the olive oil cake wasnt bad but i’ve had better.overall nothing blew my mind, and given the massive line out the door for walk ins and how difficult it is to get a reservation i’d opt for easier spots to go to.

Longtime neighborhood gem that has gone viral with Instagram-types, L’Artusi continues to serve modern Italian fare that is phenomenally delicious. The pastas are homemade and impeccably delicious. The apps and small plates were creative and made with fresh ingredients. Loved the Tuscan kale salad and the crostone. The chicken was my favorite main.Service was a little slow, but it was very crowded on a Saturday night. The ambiance is next level. Definitely worth going if you can get yourself a reservation! And it’s EXCELLENT to bring a date you really like!

Overall, we had a pleasant experience dining at this restaurant. The food was decent (didn’t have time to take photos of pasta and everything we had) and the service was fine, though nothing particularly exceptional. The ambiance was really nice.We were celebrating a birthday and had brought flowers, but it’s honestly unbelievable that a decent restaurant like this doesnt provide a vase. As a result, the flowers wilted within a few hours, which was disappointing.Regarding the service, we left a generous tip for our waitress, although it was slightly less than 20% due to the large bill. While the service was timely, I didn’t feel it warranted any special recognition. That said, I was surprised when the waitress seemed to expect more after we had already left a fair tip. It’s one thing to appreciate good service, but it’s another to feel entitled to even more. After receiving our tip, the waitress’s attitude changed, and that was honestly off-putting.Additionally, a few staff members at the front desk were not particularly friendly. When I asked why I couldn’t sit and wait for the rest of my party (without ordering), I was given a dismissive response. I was left standing in an uncomfortable spot by the entrance, and the lack of an intelligent explanation for why I couldn’t sit made the situation more frustrating. While we did enjoy the meal overall, these aspects of our experience really detracted from what could have been a more pleasant and memorable visit.

  • Review 63 (2023-04-23 - Rating: 5)

Definitely worth the tough res. There were a few dishes that maybe didnt *quite* live up to the height (brussels) but on the whole was great and some were excellent (bucatini). Service was impeccable and so friendly and generous. Would definitely come here again—if i can get a reservation!

The beet + watermelon salad is unbelievably good and I never order beets but theirs are just soo sweet and amazing. The spaghetti with garlic breadcrumbs was perfectly cooked and very good although it could have used a tiny bit more salt. The peach crisp sundae was fabulous. So decadent. Overall, an amazing lunch and the best menu I’ve seen at L’artusi so far.

My boyfriend and I got takeout at L’Artusi to celebrate a special night and the food did not disappoint! To start things off we got the ricotta which was rich yet refreshing with the strawberry vinaigrette. We couldn’t pick two pastas so we got three! In order of favorites 1) Mushroom Garganelli 2) Pappardelle Ragu 3) Squid Ink. The mushroom was so fragrant and creamy, I could eat it everyday! We look forward to dining in next time. :)

Came here for Sunday brunch. Make sure you make reservations. Foccacia was great to start. Wagyu beef tartar was delicious.I thought the bucatini Nero was amazing. Pasta had amazing texture and it had plenty of crab to enjoy.Wife had carbonara. For a carbonara, It was light and delicious

We had a wonderful Sunday brunch. Highly recommend the Bucatini, the crispy potatoes, and the Cacio e Pepe. We sat on the second floor with a nice skylight illuminating the room and giving a classic New York Italian ambiance.

  • Review 68 (2021-08-10 - Rating: 5)

LArtusi! We finally got here! The reservation process for this place is utterly insane. They open at 9 am something like two weeks in advance. My girlfriend and I both had Resy open and refreshed at exactly 9 am. We both failed on our first attempt and then I was successful with a 5:15 outdoor reservation on a Thursday. ALL reservations were gone in under 40 seconds. This was our most recent and most serious of 3-4 attempts to get a reservation here.Needless to say, my expectations were sky high. I cant give less than 5 stars because the food was genuinely very good. But almost nothing could match that expectation. I will note the indoor dining experience probably would have been much nicer. Its a sleek indoor space. The service was fine, not bad not good. The drinks we got (dont remember which) were refreshing but unspectacular. The Wagyu Tartare, Garganelli (mushroom ragu) and Cavatelli (pancetta, tomato, chili) were EXCELLENT. While delicious , the Cavatelli was spicy for me, but very spice sensitive - a non-issue for most people I think. So all in all, go here. Its great. But maybe wait for the hype to die down a bit, if it ever does.

  • Review 69 (2022-03-19 - Rating: 5)

The service here is first class. And whoever is in charge of keeping water glasses full at this place needs a commendation and a raise; my glass was never empty (the true mark of superb service in my opinion). My spouse and I came here to close ot or first day in NYC, and were not disappointed. I mentioned the service was great before, but its worth mentioning again, its top notch! We started with the burrata appetizer, which was smooth and brimming with flavor, with just a hint of sweetness that set it off perfectly. Then, we got an update that our food was just about to be finished and would be out momentarily. Ive heard this many times from wait staff before, and it usually means that your meal is taking a long time and they are passively acknowledging this, but not so here. It was genuine, thoughtful, and quite accurate. Our food arrived very soon after. Lburger was surprisingly large, with a ton of greens and tasty melted cheese. It was quite filling, with just the right amount of greasy goodness. Enough to need a napkin, but restrained enough to not dissolve during consumption. The potatoes that accompanied were divine as well, a perfect pairing.

First service of the day at 5pm. Service was very attentive and fast. Food came out fast. Had carbonara which was a tad salty but good nonetheless. The nero pasta and mushrooms were the winners!

Fantastic lunch. had the burrata with kale, peaches, and pickled onion as well as the bucatini (pictured) and the spaghetti. both pastas were delicious and properly portioned.would definitely recommend. lunch being easier to grab a reservation. for dinner, walking in to sit at the bar is the move particularly if you go close to opening.

I have been here 6 times and that says how much I like this restaurant. Delicious Italian food served with a good variety. Love their spaghetti and mushrooms with fried egg on top. Garganelli pasta is amazing too. We got beets as well which were very refreshing, along with kale ravioli. For dessert we ordered the olive oil cake, hazelnut torte and the budino which was like a mousse. Every single dish was perfectly balanced. Portions are not huge so you can order a few things to share. Latte goes well with the desserts to get that too!

Came here for Brunch and it was good! The location is plenty big for parties although service was slow, waited about an hour and a half for entrees to come out. We were given a complimentary salad to alleviate some of the wait time. Drinks were tasty but limited number of speciality cocktails. Service was very nice and attentive, overall a good restaurant but was expecting a bit more after the countless referrals I’ve gotten!

It had been a while since I ate at L’Artusi because reservation was hard to come by. My good friend was able to get an outdoor table there for lunch today. Service was excellent. We shared tuna crudo, crab meat Calabria chili pasta and Delicata squash. The quality of the ingredients were first grade but all the dishes lacked flavor. Couldn’t really taste the Calabria chili at all in the pasta dish.Hope this was an one off miss of the kitchen!

  • Review 76 (2018-09-28 - Rating: 5)

This is a great Italian place! A great ambience due to the combination of authentic Italian and authentic New York, great Italian wine and a great playlist that includes great r&b classics, but still fits the atmosphere. The waiters are very knowledgeable, know their wines and what dish matches the other. I highly recommend sharing some pasta dishes. This way you can enjoy more of their fabulous creations. Somehow the chef here managed to keep the sauses very light, even the creamy sauses, and just the right level of umami. This place is always packed to book early or be prepared to hang around for a while.

  • Review 77 (2021-12-03 - Rating: 5)

Amazing Italian food. We had scallops crudo, Garganelli (mushroom ragu, ricotta salata), and Pici Nero (crab, calabrian chili, garlic, tomato, nori breadcrumbs) . All super delicious! Waiter is friendly and professional as well. Outdoor seating has nice heat! Would definitely come back.

A staple of West Village. Food and service are always top notch. Atmosphere is always a vibe. I’ve ordered every pasta dish on the menu and can say all are very good, just depends on what you’re in the mood for. My favorites are the Bucatini and Garganelli.

LArtusi is an exceptional restaurant. The food, service, and atmosphere are all outstanding. Right when you walk in, the staff are attentive and do everything they can to ensure you are having a good experience. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and offer great recommendations. They were very accommodating to me as a vegetarian and are attentive towards allergies.LArtusi offers a unique and modern take on Italian food. You wont find traditional dishes here. The recipes are complex and exciting while still comforting the palate like Italian food should. The food at this place is so delicious. Even the bread and olive oil is memorable. The butter lettuce salad is a stack of whole butter lettuce leaves with a creamy dressing and blue cheese. It is such an interesting way to eat a salad and it works well. The Brussels sprouts are cooked well and packed with flavor and sharp cheese. The spaghetti is perfectly cooked and the chilis add a good bite of flavour. The ravioli is rich and creamy with a bit of sweetness. The dessert we had was so decadent and delicious. We had the dark chocolate mousse dessert. It was so smooth and chocolatey and rich and creamy all at once. Every bite was superb. The crispy dark chocolate cookie added a nice crunch to it.We were also brought complementary ricotta cheese with crackers as well as a small dish of another type of buttery ravioli that was very tasty. They have an extensive menu of drinks that are also just as outstanding.LArtusi has some of the most inventive and delicious Italian food Ive ever eaten. The food and service are all executed perfectly. Every moment spent here and every bite of food is an absolute delight.

We sat in the veranda and that was a pleasant experience (although some cushions for the chairs would be nice). Inside was way too loud.Service is nice and attentive.Food is generally good. The octopus is delicious. Pasta with mushrooms and meat was nice, but the black ink pasta was super salty.

This was such a lovely place to have a girls night birthday dinner! The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. I will point out that the corn dish is not vegetarian friendly, but there were plenty of other options for ones vegetarian friends. In fact, the mushroom ragu was everyones favorite pasta of the night! Also, my friend who isnt usually impressed by chocolate cakes loved their rendition of the chocolate cake

  • Review 83 (2023-07-20 - Rating: 5)

Reservations aren’t the easiest to get but if you get here when they open, there are a few open tables. The atmosphere is dark and kind of loud from how crowded it is. Our pork was overdone and dry but the rest of it was pretty good. We really enjoyed our pastas

  • Review 84 (2024-11-09 - Rating: 5)

Best cacio in the city - its the dense bite and bounciness to the home made pasta and the oil / sauce that it is dipped in. Way more oily than a usual cacio, but in the best way. Just tastes divine. The olive cake is one of the best cakes Ive tasted anywhere in the world. They could just set up a separate bakery selling ONLY the olive cake and it would be the most hyped up and best bakery in NYC believe it or not.

  • Review 85 (2024-10-29 - Rating: 5)

I wondered why it was so hard to get reservations here and after eating it’s not just the hype. Everything we had was wonderful. Service is very very slow. You have to hound down someone if you need something. They also spilled water all over my friend and it took forever to ask someone for a towel.

  • Review 86 (2020-11-29 - Rating: 5)

Loved this place and can’t wait to come back! For pasta, we ordered the cavatelli, tagliatelle, spaghetti, and bucatini. Favorite was tagliatelle though all were pretty good. The wagyu tartar was a bit too heavy on the vinegar. The potatoes and mushrooms were great.

  • Review 87 (2020-10-21 - Rating: 4)

Excellent service and beautiful venue. The two stand out dish was the chicken and tortellini. Both deserve a 5/5 for creativity and flavor. The wagyu tartare was delicious but a little too much bread. The rest of the dishes was good but nothing to write home about. Feel like this place deserve a 5/5 but I didn’t feel the balance and synergy between the dishes and for the overall experience didn’t come together for me. Perhaps it’s because of this covid era.

  • Review 88 (2022-12-23 - Rating: 4)

Olive oil cake was mesmerizing! So many different dimensions and textures in one bite. 🤩Mushroom appetizer was a surprise hit, loved the seasoning. Pasta was great but just a *tad* bit on the oily side.

  • Review 89 (2023-05-23 - Rating: 5)

Food and service was excellent. The Waygu carpaccio was recommended and there was a reason for that. But the highlight was the Caccio e Pepe which rivalled the one we had in Rome just a few months before. Take any reservations you can get at L’Artusi!

  • Review 90 (2019-01-29 - Rating: 5)

Upon checking in we were quickly taken to our table. Many have made a note about the noise level but understand this isnt quite fine dining, you still will be able to hear everything and have a great time Dinner service was phenomenal. Each dish felt properly sized and aesthetically (hunger inducing) pleasing. The roasted mushrooms were a great starting point with a nice level of heat to them. The orecchiette and gnocchi were sublime. These small pasta bowls filled with so much favor, pasta cooked perfectly al dente such a rich texture youre sad that you have reached the bottom. The steak was one of the best steaks Ive ever had with crispy potatoes that took the old steak and potatoes match to a whole new level where the potatoes sat evenly with the steak. For dessert the olive oil cake was airy, moist, and was a perfect way to end the meal. The wine list is extensive so make sure to have a few youre interested in as they may be out of one or two. Service was on point. Not once did we have to ask for a single thing, our glasses were refilled often and we were checked on periodically to ensure our evening was going well and that everything was fine. The problem we had was deciding our dishes and leaving others for another visit. A real gem here and a new staple of our favorites. Intimate and casual.TL;DR: Food is awesome eat everything and cake!!.

  • Review 94 (2021-11-30 - Rating: 5)

First time back in a few years and it did not disappoint! L’Artusi has to be in the conversation for top 5, maybe even top 3 pasta joints in the city. Its consistently mentioned, and for good reason. Squid ink + crab pasta was the highlight for sure, lots of interesting textural and flavour combinations going on. Drinks were also very solid, i especially enjoyed their take on a mezcal negroni which is basically liquid catnip to me. The ricotta was very finely whipped and came with an out of left field grape mostardo which balanced it nicely. Wholly recommend, this place is a New York classic for a reason!

  • Review 95 (2024-10-22 - Rating: 5)

The burrata was DIVINE. The Brussel sprouts and other appetizers were really well done. I liked the pasta, but it didn’t stand out as much. Focaccia was real delightful. We were a big group in the private dining room.Service was too slow. Long periods of waiting, especially for the first set of food. Water replenishment was also a tad slow. The desserts were okay. The presentation of the olive oil cake was tacky. The cookies were cold??Overall nice spot, cute area, really good food; very good for family style / sharing.

Finally visited L’Artusi. The TAGLIATELLE was with bolognese bianco, and parmigiano. Not heavily creamy yet the parmigiano cheese flavor popped out. As for the SPAGHETTI, to be honest, this dish didn’t meet my expectations. The combination of garlic, chilies, and parmigiano is everything that you can get at a regular Italian diner. It’s okay but nothing special to match the price point. CRISPY POTATOES with the salsa Bianca was delightful. The sour cream like salsa dipping sauce gave another bump. The highlight of today’s lunch was that famous OLIVE OIL CAKE! Golden raisin marmellata paired so well with the olive oil cake and crème fraîche mousse - slightly savory striking awesome balance with creaminess and sweetness! This place is always crowded so it’s better make a reservation. The waiters and waitresses were friendly.

  • Review 97 (2024-08-24 - Rating: 5)

✨Housemade Focaccia - great flavor from tomato salsa and pecorino, even better if its warm✨Pici Cacio e Pepe - its the perfect texture for me, Im normally not a big fan of cacio e pepe but this isnt as heavy as I fear✨Tagliatelle - love the bolognese, meaty but light and a little zesty✨Olive Oil Cake - the famous olive oil cake!! The syrup is entirely unnecessary for me but otherwise its good, pairs even better with complementary birthday gelato 🎂

  • Review 98 (2023-08-07 - Rating: 4)

Let’s put it straight. Service impeccable. Cosy and trendy atmosphere we are all used to observe in this area of Village. The food? The pasta is excellent (the tagliatelle alla Bolognese were good; the Cacio e Pepe as well event if not reaching the heights we all have in Rome….). The rest is too “americanised” to consider this place as a truly Italian restaurant. In any circumstance the vibes of the place are good. One only advise: make sure that bread or focaccia il always available. Pasta without it is meaningless….

  • Review 99 (2019-02-24 - Rating: 4)

Hard to get a table, so I resorted to walking in at 5:30. Even then, I just barely got a seat at the bar. The people behind me were told to wait another 90 minutes. It was worth the wait! Highlight include the home made ricotta (a special), roasted mushrooms and tagliatelle (cooked in a white sauce instead of the usual red). To finish, I highly recommend the olive cake - theres a reason theyre know for it!

  • Review 100 (2018-09-24 - Rating: 4)

We were here on Sunday brunch and were really hungry. Ordered steak, breakfast and ricotta crepes, steak was too tasteless for me, not enough salt or pepper and small. Potato over-roasted as for me, eggs were good but nothing special for that place. Maybe we should have ordered pasta but there is no big choice for brunch. Small brunch menu in general.

  • Review 101 (2022-03-22 - Rating: 5)

L’artusi definitely met my high expectations! The pasta was amazing! We ordered the Wagyu carpaccio at the recommendation of our waiter. We felt like we couldn’t really taste the beef at all and the flavor of the toppings took over, but it was still good.We also ordered the tagliatelle bolognese, the spaghetti and the hanger steak. All three of these dishes were delicious! The spaghetti was slightly spicy. For desert, we ordered the olive oil cake and loved it.

Subtle flavors of branzino lingered on the palate..We also ordered the Roasted chicken, Spaghetti and Pici Cacio E Pepe. All the dishes were superb and well executed. For dessert we got the olive oil cake ...yummmm!! It was devoured in 2 mins... that speaks about the taste. On the side we ordered the carrots too...perfect to go with all dishes.Would love to go back again for more dishes.

Its good to be back after the pandemic. They never disappoint and looking forward to more. They are the best for Italian food in every category.Update: I took off a star because these past two visits they no longer serve honey with tea and offer (honey syrup which makes no sense). In addition, no one brought ice cream or a candle on desserts for my sisters 50th birthday or today for my husbands parents who turned 70 and 67 together. Its highly disappointing because it was the little things that made the biggest difference. On a pleasant note for my birthday in December 2023, not only they brought out ice cream, honey with tea but also gave us a dessert on the house. It wasnt expected as the service and food is amazing but iwas a great birthday.

This restaurant is as good as they come. Every time that I’m in New York I look forward to going back there. Recommended dishes: their vegetarian pasta, the mushroom and eggs appetizer, and I heard the steak is great too. Can be hard to get a Rez, but if you get there around six for dinner there’s a good chance you can get bar seats to eat.

We came in on a Saturday night and it was super busy. We sat at the bar and dined there as it was easier. The bartender was great, she was super nice and professional. We ordered the butter lettuce and it was so good. You could taste the butter and cheese and the pine nuts went great with it. We also had the tagliatelle which was delicious. Finally tried the olive oil cake and wow. Who knew olive oil would make a great dessert. The kitchen kept sending us specials from the chef which were also amazing.Gives you a chance to try different things. Youll leave here very satisfied.

Saying the food & service are great at L’Artusi, is like saying water is wet or fire is hot. Deciding to have dinner here is a fantastic idea. While I only tried several dishes as I drank at the bar (my martini was absolutely perfect) I have NO DOUBT, every dish on the menu is prepared with the same care & outstanding flavor as the mushrooms & burger were. I’ve been trying to get a table for 4 here for quite some time, so I popped in to see if I should continue to search … and this simple meal at the bar has emboldened me to keep trying!

Some of the kindest and most accommodating staff (hosts and waiters)! Incredible experience and incredible food. We had to change our party from 5 to 3, and staff was very understanding and took us anyway. There are so many great Italian places in NYC, but L’artusi is one of the BEST! Will be back because of staff alone. :)

Best dinner I’ve had in NYC in a longggg time. Every single dish was delicious. Highlights included the beef carpaccio, pumpkin tortellini, roasted chicken, red snapper and gelato. Wow just wow

Came for lunch, pasta was good but nothing exceptional. Portions are small, not sure if it’s just for lunch but I could have eaten 3 pasta portions.

We came here for our 10 year anniversary on a trip to NYC and could not fault the place on anything. Service outstanding, food fantastic - get the chilli spaghetti with breadcrumbs it’s so delicious. Our waitress Alison was so charming - we will be returning.

  • Review 120 (2021-08-07 - Rating: 5)

Great spot for great pasta! The cavatelli pasta was really dense and al dente and somehow fully cooked through. Really loved the texture! Also loved the hanger steak. Cooked to the right temperature and the potatoes and spread that came with it was delicious 😋

  • Review 121 (2024-10-30 - Rating: 4)

It’s good, it’s popular, but it wasn’t spectacular

  • Review 122 (2021-12-29 - Rating: 5)

I loved the food! But for the price vs food quality, this place is expensive. I got the veal chop and beet salad. They were excellent. My friend got the prawn and she said it was too salty for her.

  • Review 123 (2024-07-06 - Rating: 4)

Low four. This place is overhyped and there’s honestly a lot of better places in the village. However, the food is freshly prepared and they have a nice selection of pastas. Service is pretty timely. Outdoor seating was rough with the wind, as all the plants were getting knocked down. On the whole, I don’t feel the desire to go back.

  • Review 124 (2024-01-13 - Rating: 5)

L’Artusi is the undisputed best restaurant in the West Village and top ten in all of NYC, but you probably already know that. Food and service are reliably impeccable. That said, you’d be fortunate to be in the presence of AJ should you be seated in his section. AJ is warm, funny, informative and absolutely delightful. I brought a friend who has always wanted to dine here and she was thrilled that we secured a reservation. While that would have been enough, AJ took the experience to an 11. He treated her like the queen she is and guided us through a perfectly wonderful long lunch on a winter afternoon. He’s the very best. Thanks to everyone else for truly memorable meal.

I could eat the spaghetti and olive oil cake from here every day. The spaghetti is topped with crispy panko bread crumbs with a simple creamy sauce that my carbohydrate dreams are made of.

  • Review 126 (2024-10-20 - Rating: 4)

It was hard to get a reservation for a while and finally got one at 1:30pm on Saturday. Warm, cozy atmosphere and ordered roasted mushrooms, bucatini, spaghetti for 2 people. Roasted mushroom was my fav but spaghetti was also fresh and delicious. Bucatini was too salty for me tho. Service was excellent so overall nice experience!

Simply one of the top restaurants in nyc. For the price, you get some of the most reliable high-quality service/food/vibes available. And when your choices for cute Italian places in the West Village seem endless, do not be fooled: LArtusi is setting the bar for everyone else. It is an experience you will remember. Thank you for caring about food and dining so much. 🥹❤️🫶

My favorite Italian restaurant! The burger is delicious and the steak is so tender! My go to pastas are the cacio e pepe, Tagliatelle, rabbit ragu, and the squid ink pasta. Such a vibe and great service

  • Review 137 (2019-11-25 - Rating: 5)

L’Artusi has the most amazing atmosphere and service in a New York City restaurant. The food was excellent, the ricotta cheese appetizer and olive oil cake are a must.

  • Review 138 (2024-06-26 - Rating: 4)

Overall great experience. The ambiance was exceptional, lighting is perfect and the atmosphere inviting. The service was quite good as well, the staff was friendly and attentive, though there were a few moments when they seemed a bit stretched thin. The food was good , the flavors were well-balanced and the presentation was appealing, though a couple of dishes could have used a bit more seasoning.Overall, Id highly recommend L’Artusi for a delightful dining experience.

We booked the wine room for a post-wedding family dinner, and everything from communication to the food was phenomenal. Leah and her team made the evening fantastic. They accommodated a nut allergy (by offering to make separate dishes that were nut-free!), had personalized menus ready on our table, and all of the food was exquisite. Everyone (and we had the entire range of food personalities) loved the dinner! We also did outdoor dining here, just for fun, and the food experience was equally good. Its a gem!

Visited L’Artusi with a friend, we managed to get a reservation at the last minute. They have fabulous pasta! I decided to get the Carbonara and it did not disappoint. They have a great dessert menu, the ‘Sorbetti’ was excellent. I highly recommend this place.

We had a wonderful meal! Our waiter Jean (hope I have that spelled correctly) was magnificent! From recommendations to his witty banter, we felt right at home. The food itself was also spectacular. We enjoyed every morsel!

  • Review 143 (2023-11-26 - Rating: 5)

Ragu was pretty good. But the free foccatia was the highlight. So rich and creamy. It was drenched in rich olive oil. The herbs on top brought in so many different flavors.

  • Review 144 (2024-03-27 - Rating: 4)

Food was good, we ate the tagliatelle. The portion of food is super small. So I don’t recommend to go there if you are hungry.

Walked in without reservations but was seated within 15 minutes at the bar. Service was quick and awesome. Great recommendations. Very friendly. The parpadelle Bolognese is amazing!! Lighter on the tomatoes but oh so much flavor! A MUST!!Beet burrata was great as well. The raspberries were a bit tart and were messing with the flavor combination a bit, but overall, also two thumbs up!The chocolate cake looked intense! Loved the caramel popcorn.

  • Review 150 (2023-07-03 - Rating: 5)

It is very pricey. But the food is very good and keep in mind we waited till 10:30pm for our reservation. The mushrooms appetizer was good but nothing mind blowing, so was the olive oil cake, though I really enjoyed the whipped ricotta that came along with it. The spaghetti however, was awesome. Not too salty, perfect amount of spicy and rich and the crispy bits on top were chef’s kiss. Wish the reservations were easier to get, but it was a great meal and the ambiance was also very nice

  • Review 151 (2021-10-20 - Rating: 5)

Of all the acclaimed Italian spots in NYC, L’artusi lives up to the hype. The Heirloom Burrata is an exceptionally well done, elevated take on a classic dish. While everything we ordered was amazing, the Bucatini was by far our favorite, followed by the Pici Cacio e Pepe and Tagliatelle. Most importantly - if you leave without ordering the olive oil cake, you’ve made a mistake.

  • Review 152 (2024-11-01 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 154 (2024-07-25 - Rating: 5)

My meal at L’Artusi was incredible. I was solo tonight and able to call ahead for a single seat at the bar which was helpful. I started with the wagyu beef carpaccio. It had such a great flavour and the crunchy rye bits. It was great for one person. All the pastas sounded delicious and I went for the mushroom Ragu garginelli. I thought it would be like a creamy sauce but it was a sauce of all mushrooms and incredible. The pasta was piping hot steaming which I appreciate. The garginelli was the perfect Al dente. This was an outstanding pasta. I read about the olive oil cake and gave it a whirl and it was very nice. My service at the bar was very friendly and attentive. I can’t wait to return and bring my family.

  • Review 155 (2024-07-15 - Rating: 4)

I have heard lots about L’Artusi but left a bit curious if I had missed something or if it’s made out to be more than it is.I ordered the wagyu capriccio, focaccia, bucatini Nero and spaghetti. The capriccio was smooth and had a great contrast with crispy breadcrumbs. It was a great way to start the meal. The focaccia bread had a good crust that made for a crunchy bite with the soft bread interior. The nero and spaghetti were tasty but has smaller portion sizes that may leave you hungry after dinner. The service was decent. Had to give it 4 stars because I got a wrong drink order and food took ~50 minutes to arrive.

Amazing atmosphere and very busy! Loved the dishes - the scallops were amazing. So was the steak (but I loved the white dip that it came with). The mushroom and egg was interesting and definitely not a combo I would have thought to put together but the dish works!

We had an incredible experience at this restaurant! Despite it being notoriously hard to get a reservation, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome when we mentioned we had just moved to the neighborhood. They seated us immediately in a prime area, which made the evening feel extra special. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was perfectly prepared and bursting with flavor. The service was outstanding; the staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely warm. It felt like we were being welcomed not just into the restaurant but into the community. This place is a true gem, and we’re so glad to have found it. We’ll definitely be back soon and will be recommending it to everyone we know!

I rarely write reviews, but I had such a good experience I just feel like it would be a crime to not say something! I have been dying to go here for years, but just never made it in. Last night I wandered in and hoped to get a spot at the bar for one and luckily was able to get sat no problem. I told the very attentive bartender Amanda that it was my first time there and since im only one I would love her recommendation for one of the pasta dishes since that is what they are known for. She recommended two and I went with one of her selections, it was very tasty btw, when all of a sudden a second plate of pasta mysteriously appeared? I thought it was a mistake, but she very kindly said to me that since I mentioned it was my first time there she wanted me to have a good experience. They both were extremely tasty and she made a delicious martini as well. Thank you for the amazing hospitality Lartusi and cant wait to take my friend here next month when she visits!

  • Review 169 (2024-02-23 - Rating: 4)

The only reason why i’m pumping down the amount of stars for this restaurant is because of the portion size. the food was absolutely outstanding but portions were small and left us hungry after we left. we ordered the branzino, agnolotti and lamb neck pasta to share which were all amazing. the branzino was very simple, a little on the bland side. it was good but i’ve had better and i definitely think that was the dish to skip. the agnolotti was by far my favorite, it was sweetened because of the apples and the pumpkin filling but still had savory notes because of the walnuts. i love a good agnolotti and this was it for me! the sauce on the pasta was also so good that i asked for a spoon. the lamb neck pasta was also very good, i am not much for a meat sauce however this was very enjoyable. they were skimpy with the ricotta on top which was sad because it was the best part of the pasta dish. for dessert we ordered the vanilla marscapone cheesecake and as someone who loves cheesecake this did not disappoint. it’s probably the best cheesecake i’ve had. we also ordered cheese because like i said we were still hungry. we ordered the ricotta which for us was not the biggest win because it had too much olive oil on it. the buttermilk crackers that it came with were however extremely good. our server was sweet and helped us with all of our questions. there is not too much atmosphere in my opinion but i did not get to look around the restaurant much because we were seated in the very front. one thing i will say is if you get cold easily ask to move back because i had to keep my coat over my shoulders inside due to the draft from the door.

A truly beautiful setting that feels like an oasis or spa within the west village. But the food was very good, not amazing. The cacio e pepe was mushy and both pastas were under seasoned for me.Still definitely worth a visit but not dying to return myself.
