Ambiance (5/5): Lovely little café with indoor and outdoor seating. Some serviced seating as well as order at the front and sit yourself space as well. The bright colors and openness gives the café a lot of charm. Theres foreign products along the inside of the store (not sure if they can be purchased).Service (5/5): The staff was super friendly and struck conversations while we dined (not forcefully so). They have regulars with dogs who come to visit and love the staff too. They were quick to attend to us. We would have sat for longer but we were politely told to give up our table at around the hour mark to seat a bigger party :(Food:Eggs Benedict (5/5): The $23 plate came with a nicely dressed salad with veggie variety and well done fries that were cooked with the perfect crunch! The eggs benedict hollandaise sauce was a bit too tart for my preference but otherwise cooked with a perfect runny poached egg.My friend had their crepe that looked pretty good. Definitely will want to return to try the rest of their menu!

What a cute spot! Everything we ordered was delicious. (Honestly, maybe the most tender steak Ive ever had.) The restaurant itself is intimate, quaint, and cozy. They have a little storefront/cafe where you can buy cookies, macarons, and other cafe commodities in the front and then restaurant seating in the back. It was a charming experience from beginning to end.

  • Review 3 (2024-06-11 - Rating: 5)

Eating & drinking here as often as I do, I feel like family…Besides consistently delicious cuisine, I find much needed peace & community in the relaxing fireplace dining room. That said, here are a few of my favorite dinner selections.

Quick & Quaint French cafe and deli on York Ave. near East 75th st., shop for beverages,Perrier, juices, pastries or be seated for casual indoor dining. serves breakfast, brunch, dinner.variety of salads, baguettes, sandwiches.

  • Review 5 (2021-04-20 - Rating: 5)

Here’s a challenge, you could come here and buy delightful French products as well as the most beautiful and delicious French desserts or you could enjoy wonderful lunches and dinners at their restaurant. If you are really clever, you’ll skip a meal and plan to enjoy a delicious dinner snd leave room for dessert!

  • Review 6 (2021-10-09 - Rating: 5)

Excellent dinner experience! Everything was cooked perfectly. Definitely a new local favorite. Save room for dessert. The pastries are exceptional.

  • Review 7 (2021-10-17 - Rating: 5)

Lovely cozy interior, aromatic dishes cooked with finesse, delicious coffee and amazing service. We truly felt welcomed by the friendly staff and got to enjoy a great time for a birthday dinner without ever feeling rushed.

  • Review 8 (2024-11-26 - Rating: 4)

Love cappuccino and mille crepes here! This is such a good place to enjoy some Parisienne mood, and buy some snacks from French grocers. But weekend brunch wasnt impressive.

  • Review 9 (2022-03-08 - Rating: 5)

What a nice French place for a brunch !I went two times to « Le Moulin » and loved it ! They pay attention to details and offer quality food, nicely presented. They have an outdoor space and a beautiful indoor room. French music is played. When you enter, you have French imported products, savory and sweet, you can also buy croissants/ pains au chocolats and other viennoiseries. You can see Salads, crêpes, quiches on their menu, steak frites as well.I did have the « eggs benedict with smoked salmon » (Brunch Menu) and it was really good !I suggest to give them a call before coming on weekends as it can be very busy.(They don’t take reservations on weekends).Bon appétit !

  • Review 10 (2024-06-17 - Rating: 5)

I have had breakfast and brunch here many times but ordered a burger for the first time. It was surprisingly delicious! Somehow in a French cafe I was unsure. The service is always excellent as well.

  • Review 11 (2023-02-25 - Rating: 5)

Authentic, simple French food on the Upper East Side. Delicious!

  • Review 12 (2024-03-11 - Rating: 4)

It is a nice and family friendly place, but its not great. I think the Cafe is a local favorite with plenty of solid usaull customers.Service is not good especially if this is your first time here.Their Quiche is fresh and delicious, one of the best Ive ever had! Their onion soup is mediocre.I really like the cute fireplace and their interior vibe.

  • Review 13 (2024-01-11 - Rating: 5)

Lovely place! Nice breakfast/brunch spot. Great atmosphere and kind service.

  • Review 14 (2024-06-05 - Rating: 5)

The Apple turnover is GODLY. I have never had anything like it. It is so sweet well structured. They also have really good croissants

  • Review 15 (2023-10-04 - Rating: 4)

My goodness...best macaroon (2.50) and chocolate croissants (4.75) in the UES hood. Literally a skip from my place. Cool setup and aesthetic but weird layout. Not the best chairs for chilling. Love the workers. Also chill and accommodating. Coffee is legit.

  • Review 16 (2021-07-05 - Rating: 5)

If you are in the Upper East Side, this place will make you feel like you are in Paris. And the food is so delicious 🤍 good service, they are so nice ✨

  • Review 17 (2023-02-04 - Rating: 5)

This cafe is absolutely adorable. Fresh French pastries in the morning and incredible cuisines at night. The outdoor seating is perfect! They also offer mimosas if you are looking for a boozy brunch !

  • Review 18 (2023-12-13 - Rating: 5)

One of my favorite places. Great cappuccino AND great food. They use ceramic cups and nice plates, which is a must for me. Very consistent,

  • Review 19 (2023-04-13 - Rating: 5)

Lovely french place in the neighborhood. Try their quiche and french onion soup. The chicken sandwich was a bit dry, but the chicken soup was absolutely delicious.Their desserts and croissants are also mouthwatering.

  • Review 20 (2023-05-08 - Rating: 5)

I think they have the highest quality, freshest most homemade tasting burger in NYC. People praise places like Emily for their burger, which I cant comprehend because it tastes like a gloopy mess. Le Moulins burger is perfectly balanced with the most delicious burger patty Ive ever tasted. It tastes so delicious and flavorful, yet so light and clean. Not greasy or overwhelming at all. You wouldnt think a French bistro/bakery would make a good American style burger, but they do here.

  • Review 21 (2023-11-30 - Rating: 5)

    Quiet, quant, delicious!

  • Review 22 (2024-07-29 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 23 (2023-11-08 - Rating: 4)

    Nice brunch spot in UES

  • Review 24 (2022-02-26 - Rating: 5)

Great brunch spot! Cozy vibes and delicious food. Only slight negative is that they don’t take American Express. Overall great and I’ll definitely be back.

  • Review 25 (2022-06-06 - Rating: 5)

Love this restaurant and so glad it is in our neighborhood. Nice service and great food - breakfast lunch and dinner. I have trouble deciding what to eat burger, omelet, quiche or great onion soup. Love their grilled cheese. Best fries in the city. On top of this, coffee and espresso are perfect.

  • Review 26 (2022-11-05 - Rating: 5)

Great French restaurant in Manhattan, close to UN.

  • Review 27 (2023-10-14 - Rating: 4)

Loved the brunch here. You can also buy French stuff here, theres also a separate fresh bakery.I came back for brunch again, tried different stuff this time. Great food consistently! Had a peach tartine, which is not on the regular menu and it was delicious.

  • Review 28 (2021-08-05 - Rating: 5)

Coffee was excellent, and loved our omelette and spinach crepe order. Inside is quite nice, no need to wait for a table outside. Kitchen is probably understaffed, so be prepared for a long conversation waiting for food.

  • Review 29 (2023-09-16 - Rating: 5)

Well it is a small bakery/ cafe but they have good food and coffee.

  • Review 30 (2020-07-27 - Rating: 4)

I have seen many bad reviews about the staff. I have not had any bad experiences with the staff because i didnt have special requests, but i see they dont take allergies seriously. However, they have wonderful food and many authentic french treats (I should know, Im french). They are slightly overpriced; some might think its worth it, others not.

  • Review 31 (2023-10-15 - Rating: 5)

Neighborhood cafe with French groceries and baked goods - reasonably priced by UES standards and lively. At the time I went there were cute decorations for Halloween

  • Review 32 (2022-07-10 - Rating: 4)

Stopped there the other day for well deserved hydration break on our 27 miles walk. Busy yet fast service, helpful staff. Good amount of options. Too bad they don’t have Malongo coffee, amazing coffee from south of France. I’d also add some desserts containing creme de marrons, a much better alternative compared to italian nutella. I love french food and I’m expecting french ingredients or french inspired ingredients in a french place. Oooo and add some picon and gambetta syrup if you can too. will definitely come back

  • Review 33 (2017-12-25 - Rating: 5)

My favorite coffee shop on the neighborhood.Very french, very authentic. The clientele is also predominantly french since its right by the french school.Great coffee and authentic french pastries. They also have many french grocery items.I love that they purposely dont offer wifi, because they dont like electronics. They have a warm backroom with a fireplace too.I love it!

  • Review 34 (2024-06-07 - Rating: 5)

Best service I’ve had in New York City! Breakfast was delish!

  • Review 35 (2021-09-13 - Rating: 5)

Great spot to catch up with friends, and perhaps a chilled playdate for your pups. Very clean and wait staff attentive. Youll order from the counter, then food will be brought out to you. Try any of the crepes and the salads, paired with a frose, and sit outside on a warm day.

  • Review 36 (2019-10-02 - Rating: 5)

Im not normally one to order a quiche, but wow! The meal and the service were great. I would definitely go back for another slice. Lots of dessert treats as well! Definitely worth a visit.

  • Review 37 (2014-04-02 - Rating: 4)

Nice place for brunch, particularly on sunny days the skylight gives the place a lot of natural light, which is a pleasant change from a lot of stuffy places in the city. Some classic french dishes-simple and delicious. Ive tried their Croque Monsieur, which was pretty good. They also have a selection of yummy desserts- Id go back again just for their chocolate eclair.

  • Review 38 (2022-02-28 - Rating: 5)

Great food, cozy inside and very nice outdoor seating. We had brunch and service was quick and friendly. They also have a nice bakery counter. All the food was delicious.

  • Review 39 (2024-08-12 - Rating: 5)

Quaint little spot for breakfast or lunch Dine in or carry out. Walking distance from HSS makes it a good spot when waiting on someone having a procedure.

  • Review 40 (2022-09-27 - Rating: 5)

Terrific neighborhood restaurant serving simple and delicious French inspired food. Goat cheese omelet, steak and eggs, croques... all great. Service is on point. Pastries fabulous.

  • Review 41 (2015-06-06 - Rating: 4)

We had brunch with coffee, french toast, hot cocoa, eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, and bacon. Greatly exceeded our expectations- the attention to detail was very apparent, especially the eggs. One minor disappointment was that one of our cappuccinos had slightly burnt milk, giving it a sour flavor. Otherwise excellent.

  • Review 42 (2018-11-14 - Rating: 5)

TheFood is excellent. Both in preparation flavor andchoices. The location is very convenient and very nice atmosphere. The owners take great pride in the products they sell from France and in the cooking of special items for the variety of customers.

  • Review 43 (2021-05-28 - Rating: 5)

Wonderful place that I frequent. Great coffee, great food and friendly service. I recommend the Vietnamese sandwich (bahn mi) or the french onion soup! Their pastries are delicious and so fresh. Nice outdoor seating, complete with a hut.Mainly I’m posting to add these photos of their pastry flavor menus for myself :)

Excellent brunch and friendly service. The BLT and fresh toast were delicious!!

  • Review 46 (2022-10-30 - Rating: 5)

The croque madame is AWESOME. highly recommended !

  • Review 47 (2022-11-26 - Rating: 4)

Came here with my family for Brunch. I ordered the Croissant du Moulin, which was pretty standard - egg, bacon and cheese sandwiches in a croissant, with a side salad. The side salad was kind of bland, but it was fine. Overall, it tasted like something one can get from a deli, nothing special. I also tried some of the omelette and lamb sausages (which I really liked actually) from other plates. The main attractor of the place is definitely its cozy atmosphere and wonderful service! The employees are super welcoming, which makes it a fun spot.

  • Review 48 (2020-09-26 - Rating: 4)

Delicious, simple authentic food. The outdoor space is comfortable. I have been there many times and all good. Tonight my server was Alberto who was charming, gracious and efficient.

  • Review 49 (2023-01-21 - Rating: 4)

A quite place to sit and work. Don’t have power outlets though. They are specialized in French bakery and cuisine. So much so that there menu is in french.

Cute cafe, I’ve had brunch here many times. The omelets are wonderful, fries and salad sides are good. The eggs Benedict and yogurt parfait was also good. The chai latte is delicious and not sweet at all.The cafe also has a bunch of French foods you can purchase in the front, candies, treats, and other groceries. Plus baked goods and I think I saw frozen margaritas? Which seemed like a strange add.

The food is simple but well done french basics. The staff treats myself and the kids or friend I bring very well. It’s so nice to have this Staple my nabe.Omelet is pretty much perfect. We are picky. :-) There are lovely French dessert and a cafe in front. My review is a bit klunky but the restaurant is not!

  • Review 107 (2022-09-17 - Rating: 5)

Le Moulin has a dedicated following, including my son and I who come for brunch every weekend (except today when we will have dinner this time). In addition, the pastries and groceries (epiceries) arefresh and authentically French. The owner is a charming Frenchman and the wait staff are kind and deliver your order and special requests with care. The cuisine is delicious. On Saturdays, they close between 3:45 and 5:00 to switch over from brunch to dinner. We always take with us some pastries to enjoy at home and share with friends.

Quality French cafe. A croque madame isnt always easy to find on this side of the Atlantic, and theres is a perfect representation of the delicious dish. I highly recommend it!

Came in for breakfast and what a delight it was!Omelette was hearty and perfectly cooked, mini baguette yummy, tea just perfect.Very very friendly staff despite it being morning rush hour.Le Moulin is so cozy.Highly recommend. One side note, I am spoiled by great macarons, so didnt like them here. It wont bring my rating down, as I said, this is a thing that I am super picky about and will just get at my usual spot.

If you are looking for some “petits écoliers” and an “Orangina” for you “quatre heures”, then this is your place.

  • Review 137 (2020-08-28 - Rating: 4)

Reliably good, fresh omelettes and tasty fries and salads. Great macarons, too. Baked goods are good. A little expensive and some items worth ignoring (crepes).

  • Review 138 (2019-09-27 - Rating: 5)

This cafe is a wonderful place to stop for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They make absolutely delicious pastries. They have wonderful sandwiches that are easy to walk with. They have a wonderful staff. One of the best things they have though is there tasty macarons that taste similar to ones in France, they have a variety of flavors. Overall I would highly reccomend this place.

  • Review 147 (2021-07-08 - Rating: 4)

Friendly staff, great food, nice environment, really good coffee.Would of gave them five stars but I’m pretty sure the chemicals they use to clean the tables eats away at the surface of the tables making them sticky.

  • Review 148 (2022-01-23 - Rating: 5)

Delicious breakfast. We tried the omelets (yummy) and the pain au chocolat (faboulous). Their teas are excellent too.We went there for the first time during the summer and the terrasse was perfect. This time, we had brunch inside, near the fireplace and it was perfect too.You can also find there some French products.

  • Review 149 (2018-01-07 - Rating: 5)

Excellent Eggs Benedict. Decent coffee. Nice pastries and deserts. Can be crowded around lunchtime on weekends.

  • Review 150 (2016-01-09 - Rating: 5)

Ive visited about 20 times so far, and every time Ive had fantastic food and service. The chocolate croissants are the best - at least in the Upper East Side. Service is always friendly. The cafe is usually filled with customers speaking French, so it feels very authentic! The quiche, omelette breakfasts, and sandwiches are always good.

  • Review 151 (2021-09-28 - Rating: 5)

Great iced tea and baked goods. Doubles as a mini-market for a number of French goods as well!

  • Review 152 (2016-04-26 - Rating: 5)

They have my favorite croissant in the city, plus delicious La Colombe coffee. The back dining area is adorable, with a fireplace and skylight, while front seating is self-serve and more casual. If your party is more than two for the weekend, get here before 11am to avoid a wait. Another plus: This is very much a neighborhood spot -- the cashier once let me come back to pay when I forgot my wallet.

  • Review 153 (2021-04-12 - Rating: 5)

They have a nice burger as well.

  • Review 158 (2021-12-13 - Rating: 5)

Wonderful visit and a much needed break. The chocolates and sweets will pick you up

  • Review 159 (2021-12-29 - Rating: 4)

Food tasted fresh. There was a bit too much dressing on all our salads (too sour).

  • Review 160 (2020-01-08 - Rating: 4)

Lovely, well taken care of coffee shop and patisserie, off the beaten path but it appears to be busy most of the day. No windmills to be found, but its somewhat reminiscent of bakeries in Paris, except for the lack of outdoor seating, replaced by stools looking through the front windows of the establishment. Excellent coffee in a substantial mug for in-house drinking. While I tend toward the pain au chocolat and croissants ($3.50-4.00), there is a wide range of tarts, cakes, and eclairs -- be aware the prices can be substantial! Noise levels are fine, even when parents and children inevitably show up. Overall, a fine place to contemplate your day when youre in the area.

It is an easy and fun place to hang out for coffee and dessert

  • Review 163 (2017-03-15 - Rating: 4)

Had Cafe Moulin on my bucket list for a while and finally got the chance to check it out. There was a wait to be seated and the cafe does not take reservations, so make sure you have time if you decide to go. However, you can put your name on the list and take a stroll around Walnut street while waiting.

    Wonderful gem on UES.

  • Review 165 (2015-11-18 - Rating: 4)

Stopped in for a coffee here one day while in NY, and the cappuchino was delicious. Upset I didnt get the larger sizes after I slugged it down. I had this chocolate cake that I cant even describe, but it was sprinkled with gold dust and had a wafer cookie inside as well as hazelnut (I believe). If youre in the area, its worth a visit.
