I had dinner at Lodi last night, and it was a pleasant, albeit somewhat average, experience. The location is wonderful and central. It is also very convenient to many midtown activities. We started with cocktails, which all were very well made. My friend had a Gibson and said the cocktail onions were particularly delicious. We then shared the housemade ricotta, squash salad, and the meatballs. The ricotta was nothing special and lacked some flaky salt. What really bothered me was that there were 4 of us, and they served it with 3 SMALL pieces of bread. They then had the nerve to charge us $5 for a small bread plate when we asked for more. It clearly was not enough for the amount served…not a good look. The squash salad was also small for the price, and it had 3 leaves of lettuce over the squash. Though pretty, it was impractical. The meatballs, finally, were the right size and expected amount and quite good (they also came with more bread, something that was not volunteered when asking for more with the ricotta). We then each had an entree: the pomodoro, cacio e Pepe, pici, and chicken Milanese. All the pastas were good if slightly average, the pomodoro seemed to be the favorite. The chicken was the highlight for me as it was well prepared and the sauces gave it some interesting bites. We rounded out the meal with coffee and a slice of dessert. Overall the service was decent. For the price point, there is far better Italian to be had in NYC, you are paying for the locale. -

Nice. Good coffee.Rockefeller Martini... hmm. Too pre-prepared... olive, gin and vodka pre-made. Not shaken when ordered. Nice glassware though. -

Had a great experience. The atmosphere was amazing, the view of the tree was beautiful, and the food was incredible. Cant wait to go back. -
Review 4 (2024-02-05 - Rating: 4)
Food 7/10Surprisingly the food was not bad and the pasta texture was quite solid. I was pleasantly surprised considering it’s located in tourist trap central in Rockefeller. The pici was actually so perfectly al dente, while the tuna tartare had a good chili punch. The ricotta was very creamy, as ricotta should be, so that was also solid. Sourdough was a bit tough, and the spritzes.Atmosphere 6/10Quite loud inside. The seating area was quite tight and there actually was less seating than I expected. A cafe/bakery vibe in the front and like four tables in the back for actual food.Service 7/10Nice server, nothing out of the ordinary. -

Great and authentic Italian food! Well crafted drinks with a good selection of non-alcoholic options. On the point service. Recommended! -

In the midst of a chilly November night, in a bustling area, LODI was the respite we needed. The warm cafe was the perfect spot to get off of our feet, put down our bags, and enjoy a delicious meal. The kids ordered Shirley Temples while I savored their silky espresso martini. We selected the bread and olive oil, which was our only disappointment, not a fan of the tough bread they served. The arugula and fennel salad with generous shavings of Parmesan was so good. The Lasagnette al Funghi was rich and full of flavor. The roasted half spring chicken was a hit. Would visit again. The service was attentive and helpful. -

A lovely ambiance facing Rockefeller center ❤️ the food portions were small but they were all yummy. They have great pastries and a Cafe. The meat and cheese selection were my favorite. Good spot for Catch-ups coffee, and lunch 🍽. -

Great spot across Rockefeller Center. Good food, great pasta, and oysters. Friendly service. Its a little bit overpriced. Overall It was a nice experience. -
Review 9 (2024-11-01 - Rating: 4)
I’ve been to Lodi before and have always had an excellent time. For this reason, I’d like you to consider retraining your host. While she was friendly and all smiles, she refused to seat us for drinks during happy hour in your outdoor area. I have been there before and have been accommodated. It was also not very busy as it was before 4pm. She politely told me that I was welcome to the cafe area, but what I found odd was that when I showed apprehension, she suggested we find somewhere else in the area, which we did. I’m not one to review usually, but felt this merited one for the sake of your business. -
Review 10 (2022-08-15 - Rating: 5)
Great food and experience. Staff was lovely and so was the whole atmosphere. Food was really delicious considering the popular location. Not sure why the reviews are bad, which kinda scared me initially but honestly great spot for lunch and everything was delicious and on point. Definitely recommend ! -
Review 11 (2022-03-13 - Rating: 4)
The high quality food deserves a better location with real tables. The server was knowledgeable and pleasant. The atmosphere is very casual. It has the feeling of a “bar” in Italy with panini and pastries, but then they have this great food which feels out of place. -
Review 12 (2023-06-06 - Rating: 5)
What a great place and location! If you don’t like crowds but still want to see The Today Show, this is a great place to check out. If you like high quality coffee and pastries, this is still the place to go. Exquisite! -
Review 13 (2023-09-01 - Rating: 5)
Lodi is not just a cafe; its a brief vacation, a respite from the relentless pace of New York. The fresh pasta is sublime. The antipasti are perfectly portioned. The vast array of aperitivi leaves you with too many choices - ask for a recommendation. As you step out, back into the towering shadows of Rockefeller, you carry with you a piece of Italy, a memory of a meal that was as much a journey as it was the perfect midtown lunch. -
Review 14 (2022-10-14 - Rating: 4)
Stopped by the bakery late at night for a coffee and dessert. The sweet treats are really good and so is the coffee. Self service and bar seating on the bakery side. Not too busy when we were there. We went there late at night so some desserts were not available. Staff were courteous and service was timely. -
Review 15 (2024-09-19 - Rating: 4)
I came if off the street looking for a cool refreshing gin drink ( not a martini ) and I found the Lodi Spritz! And it was fantastic. I will visit for sure again! -
Review 16 (2023-05-02 - Rating: 5)
Brought my daughter to NYC for her 16th birthday and stopped in here on a Friday night for dinner.Loved the intimate atmosphere, and could not have asked for better service. There was a nice mix of other families with teenagers, along with more sophisticated locals.Read all the hype about the bread before we came, and it did not disappoint, especially when paired with the cheese and salumi selections (plus the house made ricotta); we really could have made a meal out of just that and walked away content! Also tried several of the house specialty cocktails, which were perfectly crisp and balanced. The entrees were delicious and nicely portioned, which left room for the creamiest gelato, which was the perfect end to our meal.Would definitely go back. -

Review 18 (2021-11-16 - Rating: 4)
LOVE this spot. Menu/food is fabulous. Very hard to get a reservation and now that winter is rolling round, the outdoors will be pretty much off-limits. Their sourdough bread is the BEST I’ve ever had. Oh and try to get Alex as your waiter. He’s fabulous. And best place to sit is at the counter overlooking the GMA studio. -
Review 19 (2022-06-28 - Rating: 5)
Probably the best panini Ive ever had. Great location, great menu, super nice inside or outside. Ill be back. -

Review 21 (2022-04-13 - Rating: 4)
Good Italian café and bar. Had a good cappuccino here, and the pastries looked delicious. Right on Rockefeller Plaza, so a good place to people watch. -
Review 22 (2021-11-06 - Rating: 4)
Pretty spot from the tourist craze that is Rockefeller plaza. Delicate food, the anchovies peppers and butter is a must try, along with their house made ricotta. Service was a bit neutral but later picked up and my server was sweet and sent me home with some extra end of the day pastries. Huge fan of Ignacio Mattas as Estela and altro paradiso are so delightful so had to try. -
Review 23 (2023-01-03 - Rating: 5)
By far one of the most delicious, innovative, calming, happy meals Ive had to date. The service is wonderful and the dishes are executed with such joy and technical prowess - I was overwhelmed with satisfaction! -
Review 24 (2023-12-28 - Rating: 5)
Had lunch here while exploring the City with family. Location is ideal with views of Rockefeller Center and the tree. The specialty cocktails were good. Lunch options were plentiful with nice sized portions. The pasta is made fresh and cooked perfectly. Service was good. -
Review 25 (2022-10-29 - Rating: 4)
Four stars for pate toast, tartar and old fashioned nocino.four stars plus for amaro selection and well informed and personable server. -
Review 26 (2024-07-25 - Rating: 5)
If you‘re just into a drink, this place is wonderful. Very cultivated staff and guests, next to us Sutton Foster sat down and that of course increased the rating for Lodi notably. We really enjoyed the quite expensive drinks, but for such a central place the prices are reasonable. The food however was decent but did not live up to its price. -
Review 27 (2024-12-11 - Rating: 5)
Fab coffee (espresso). If I come to eat - always always order the Vitello Tonnato - delicious. -
Review 28 (2024-07-09 - Rating: 4)
Came in for lunch with some friends and I must say the service is friendly and efficient. The food is also really good, the pricing could be lower. -
Review 29 (2022-12-24 - Rating: 5)
I don’t know why the rating for this place isn’t higher. I had a delicious little breakfast and got to see the Rockefeller Christmas tree out one window, and the Today show out of the other. I loved it! -
Review 30 (2023-12-10 - Rating: 4)
Lodi is located in the heart of Rockefeller Center! The atmosphere is stunning, and you can dine right in front of the tree! The service was great and the food was delicious. Serving sizes are on the smaller side. Definitely get a pasta dish. The octopus was tender and delicious. Its absolutely beautiful for the Christmas season. The appetizer caponata was the best I ever tasted! -

Review 34 (2025-01-04 - Rating: 5)
Best restaurant in NYC? Nope. Best restaurant within a 2 block radius? Absolutely. Crostini Di Fegato and the pasta were excellent. Get a table on the terrazza. -
Review 35 (2022-01-28 - Rating: 5)
Best cappuccino in the city. Pastries are all insanely good. Service was personal and friendly and can’t wait to come back for lunch and dinner. -
Review 36 (2024-06-28 - Rating: 4)
Food was delicious. Drink came with way too much ice, but they did correct it and bring me another one. Overall great experience and my PAPPARDELLE ALLE SPUGNOLE pasta was one of the best pastas I’ve ever eaten. -
Review 37 (2023-02-28 - Rating: 5)
I love it when a restaurant gets every detail perfect. The table setting, the colors, the look, feel, texture, and taste of every dish. The arugula salad with lemon rind was simple, pure, powerful flavors. The anchovies with butter and peppers was balanced and delicious with surprisingly mild grilled peppers. The bread plate with olive oil (perfect golden color) was delicious with a perfect crust. The bombolone (filled donut) had an unsweetened subtle creamy filling that allowed the fruit flavor to shine through. Digiermo was the consummate professional server - thank you for making the experience wonderful. A perfect meal. -
Review 38 (2023-08-19 - Rating: 5)
Easy outdoor seating in iconic Rockefeller plaza, beautiful stop for lunch- a fine rest stop in between all the crowded attractions. Attentive and friendly service.Notable Italian amaro/bitters selection 🙌The tiramisu was very good. -
Review 39 (2023-02-10 - Rating: 5)
Had a lovely breakfast! Food was awesome and also the service was very good! -
Review 40 (2023-12-27 - Rating: 4)
Although the menu seems simple, the dishes certainly are not. This is a superb choice for Rockefeller Plaza dining with a great view of the tree during the holidays or simply Al fresco summer respite in their outdoor seating area. Seating in their outdoor covered area during the holidays is a little cramped and service may LG at times but the food certainly scores big. Kick off with their signature cocktails followed by an assortment of formaggi & salumi. The bucatini burro e alici is outstanding (note a tad spicy) and the risotto yummy! In a sea of choices, Lodi will surprise you. -
Review 41 (2023-08-20 - Rating: 5)
We arrived here around 9 am on a Friday in the summer. We sat looking out into the Today show plaza for the concert. We couldnt hear the conversations but we could hear singing. The cappuccino and pastries were perfect. -
Review 42 (2021-10-08 - Rating: 5)
My party of the got two items and shared them for a nice lunch. The housemade mozzarella is perfect and the tomatoes were surreal. The basket of bread was a delightful touch. We were able to walk up and get a table right away near opening time, but Id recommend a reservation to be sure you get a table. We sat on the sidewalk and I was facing Rockefeller Center. What a view!! -
Review 43 (2024-12-17 - Rating: 5)
Food was fantastic, drinks were great. Wonderful location with lots around it. -
Review 44 (2023-01-03 - Rating: 5)
I dont know of a better place for a civilized, festive lunch uptown during the holiday season. The mozzarella and pomodoro panino is a grown-ups grilled cheese; ricotta is the best I can remember; and anchovies tasted like Milan. -
Review 45 (2023-04-30 - Rating: 4)
A great spot if you are in Rock Center. Great food. Inside space is wasted! -
Review 46 (2022-12-30 - Rating: 5)
Limited menu but innovative. The staff were attentive. The bread is made on premise and worth the cost. Great location. The sausage and lentil dish was fantastic, as was the chickpea appetizer. -
Review 47 (2024-10-09 - Rating: 5)
Perfect spot to grab a bite before a show. We enjoyed the happy hour cocktails and pasta dishes. The budino dessert was delicious! -
Review 48 (2024-12-07 - Rating: 5)
Pleasant surprise on a Saturday in December… liver pate on toast, the special sandwich (basically a caprese but with tomato pesto and smoked mozz on a delightful focaccia), crème caramel and cappuccino… great bite before a show. I come here for coffee often but will now put on list for lunch/dinner. -

Review 51 (2022-12-05 - Rating: 5)
Great food! I had low expectations given it’s such a highly trafficked tourist area but the flavors were amazing and you get a beautiful view of Rockefeller plaza while you’re at it! -

Happened to find Lodi on a recent Saturday morning while walking around hoping to find a bagel. Next thing you know we’re having creme filled brioche & watching a big Christmas tree go up across the street at 30 Rock! Great staff, delicious food, & a lovely setting. -
Review 56 (2022-08-20 - Rating: 5)
5-stars for proximity to cold beer, FAO Schwarz and Rockefeller Plaza. Great place to take a load off. Prices are what you would expect from Tourist Mecca, but you can get a plate of Italian bread and a cold beer for $15. Ive seen much worse. Hostess was super nice. -
Review 57 (2022-07-10 - Rating: 5)
Most excellent homemade pasta with a deliciously made pomodora sauce! A fresh caprese salad to start and perfectly made espresso to finish! A definite spot for a great Italian lunch. -
Review 58 (2022-01-19 - Rating: 5)
They’ve gotta find their voice a bit because it’s a lot for guests who don’t know what to expect (3 different menus through the day, fast casual and full service) but this place will undoubtably be there in 100 years. Is delicious, timeless, comfortable, elegant. -
Review 59 (2022-04-18 - Rating: 4)
So far so good! Had a nondairy latte (they had oat milk) and a delicious flaky croissant. All the deserts looked BEAUTIFUL and tasty, but most have dairy - which I can’t have. The venue itself is very cute, and I felt the Italian vibes, but very little seating. My gf and I tried dining in for lunch, but they were fully booked. They get booked fast! So def make a reservation if you plan on having dining in. Staff was courteous and attentive. I didn’t give it 5 stars because I didn’t dine in. -

Really nice staff with a relaxing environment. Stopped here to grab a drink before my meeting in Rockefeller Center. I needed to charge my phone and the staff was kind enough to find a charger for me and charge my phone while I sipped on my beverage. Great spot in the heart of Midtown! -
Review 78 (2023-11-21 - Rating: 4)
Good food, quiet place, something between cozy and casual. The only issue was the service was very slow. The waiters were very slow to answer us and the food came late. I recommend it if you want drink and appetizers and few hours to spend with your close friends -
Review 79 (2023-08-18 - Rating: 5)
Met a friend here for a drink and snacks before a show. My martini was incredible and perfectly cold. The tuna tartar, the octopus and the gem salad were delicious and SO fresh. The herbs were especially nice if that makes any sense. Service was fast and attentive, it was just a lovely experience. 4 cocktails and 3 dishes came to about $150 which seems average for the area. -

I have two versions of this review: before and after they removed the bakery.Lodis bakery made what was probably the best croissant in the city, along with bombolonis that were simply fantastic and impressive in their restraint. That croissant changed my life. The bread that they baked was also fantastic. Then, Lodi made the smart business decision of removing the bakery. Lodi is in a prime location in Rockefeller Center; it does not need to be good to be a successful restaurant. They now have a dining room. Lodi is still quite good, with great (if normal) croissants and great coffee, but the pastries pale in comparison to their predecessors. The atmosphere is still great, and the experience is awesome. You walk in, order a coffee and a pasty/sandwich, grab a jar of water, sit at the beautiful bar that divides the interior, and eat breakfast. Its a really cool experience. Tourists be warned though, the prices may seem expensive. However, the life-changing pastries have gone (they were described as among the best in the city by Pete Wells.)Im taking a star off to protest the removal of the bakery. -

Review 101 (2022-01-26 - Rating: 4)
We booked an outdoor table at this restaurant and unfortunately found out when we arrived that the outdoor dining section has been shut down for the season. Due to the COVID surge, we declined to dine indoors so we did not get to try the food. They were very nice about it and pointed out their to-go menu, but we just wish we would have been given a heads up to say that the table we reserved did not actually exist. The to-go menu was very abbreviated so we will try again in the spring so we can enjoy the full menu plus the cocktails. -

Nice outdoor dining in the middle of Rockefeller Center. Enjoyed the porchetta panini and the cannelloni. Great bread.
