    What a wonderful spot for cocktails! Meeting up with a friend for a delightful drink experience in the early afternoon was truly enjoyable. Upon our arrival, the place was peacefully quiet, and we were left to settle in on our own. While waiting at the bar for my friends arrival, it took a moment before I caught someones attention to take our drink order. The menu here is so detailed and help you to choose the right drinks for you. Our selection of licorice, yerba mate, sancho pepper, and mace concoctions turned out to be a delightful array of distinct and delicious flavors. As cocktail enthusiasts, we appreciated the well-crafted, beautifully presented, and potent drinks. The ambiance was delightful, and we had a great time, although a bit more attentive service would have been perfect. In conclusion, its a lovely spot to enjoy some fantastic cocktails.

    This place is a fantastic cocktail bar! 🍸 Mace serves a wonderful selection of unique cocktails 🍹 - definitely get the Strawberry 🍓 Gum cocktail or Kinako cocktail (its eggnog-y 🥚) if you like sweet drinks 🥤 or the Parsley 🌿 cocktail or Pandan cocktail of you rather it be savory. The place is beautifully decorated 🛋️, the staff 👨‍🍳 is super friendly and professional, ambience 🎶 is great, and the service is quick. ⏲️ I wish I came here sooner!

    Intimate spot for cocktails. Lighting is pretty dim, so its that sort of vibe. Drinks were good. I liked the Sichuan Pepper cocktail, really smooth. Would recommend ideally for groups of 2-4.

    This is such a great cocktail bar. They use fresh ingredients and put a lot of thought into their cocktails. The cocktails tasted really good and are worth the price. They’re also well rounded and have a good flavor combination.The bar is also really nice! It’s got a rustic elegance and even has a fire place. The seats are comfortable and cozy.

    One of my favorite NYC cocktail bars. Top hospitality from Nicco, Ben and Sabrina the last time I visited. Current menu is based on different spices from all around the world, cocktails are perfectly executed and all the ones that I tried were amazing. My favorites were Vanilla and their Espresso Martini. Loved the vibe and the atmosphere, definetely recommend it to enjoy a few drinks.

    Definitely one of the best cocktail bars in nyc. vibes are amazing and its not too loud nor too quiet. their drinks are so creative and tasty. i had the kinako drink and i would highly highly recommend if you like soybean or even maybe milk tea

    The drinks were delicious and the atmosphere cozy but each drink was so expensive. Its really unique. I would recommend for a night cap or a fun stop through the village on a cold night.

    Great atmosphere and vibe. Just pretentious enough. Cocktails are very unique and interesting. Appreciate the guide and flavor descriptions for all the drinks. They just changed the cocktail menu and were already out of two of them which was disappointing. Bartender warmed up as we talked to him and help guide our choices. My friend got “Rosemary” which based on the description we expected and wanted a more rosemary forward flavor. It was a solid drink but heavy on the gooseberry vinegar flavor. It was a little off putting at first but got better once it settled into the drink. I got the black sesame which I really enjoyed but still cannot describe the flavor profile it was so different. Definitely smoky, spicy and almost milky. Before we left our bartender made us a quick sample of a drink we wanted on the old menu “jalapeño” and it was strange and phenomenal. Definitely not somewhere I would spend a few hours but will be back for a quick pre or post dinner drink in the future.

    Stumbled upon Mace on a Friday afternoon and was so pleasantly surprised. The cocktail menu is so lovely and well thought out. Ambiance was cozy, music was spot on and our server was lovely. We went back 2 days later for round two.

    Better known as a cocktail bar but the food is also fantastic. Cocktails are inventive and unexpected. The sesame, rosemary, and black truffle were faves.The food menu was the unexpected winner of the night… French onion soup dumplings! Cassava fries! Duck poutine! All so so good!We didn’t have reservations so we walked in and had a drink in the standing area. After about 15-20 mins there were seats available at the bar.

    Dropped in to Mace at the end of a cocktail bar night hop on a Friday evening, and needless to say, I was very, very impressed.The botanical and natural experiences/influences of the cocktails made our drinking experience very enjoyable. For drinks, we ordered the Ants, Cinnamon, and Ube. I could go into great detail about each cocktail, but Ill leave that to other patrons and viewers to try it for themselves. Nothing disappointed - the Cinnamon, in particular, was one of the best cocktails Ive had anywhere. In addition, the food looked amazing, so I might come back to try out more plates. We ordered the Dry Pot Chili potatoes, and those were incredibly flavorful and delicious. Ambiance and service were both on point.I will definitely be making my way back here again!

    Very good service and experience. they were super accommodating despite our whole party arriving 20+ min after our reservation time. drinks were super uniqueloved the poppy seed, sorrel, mace. they were all pretty sweet HAHA. the sumac was interesting but i think the hints of wine were too strong for me because i’m not a super big wine personthe jalepeno and fig leaf were strange and sophisticated (there were a ton of flavors going on) and def glad i triedthem although i’m not quite sure i would get them again.the fennel pollen & angelica were way too bitter for me and i would prob not get again LMAO

    Mace is the best bar that I’ve been to in Manhattan. The drinks have very different but really interesting flavors that are very unique. I would recommend their signature drink, Mace, to be served up! The bartenders are amazing and I love their energy and love for their craft. 100% recommend, and don’t be surprised if there’s a wait. If possible, I’d suggest sitting at the bar!

    The drinks taste like freshly squeezed vegetable juice with accented herbs. It was delicious, but I’m probably going to need 10 to feel buzz. Clearly this is a cocktail bar for those who fancy themselves…fancy. Had to transition to a Pilsner just to remind oneself the primary reason why one drinks.

    Extremely good cocktails with complex layered flavors. The ambient was good, relaxed but cool, and the service was so friendly and quick. This is definitely a bar I will come back to. I would have liked if the happy hour menu included more than two cocktails and one type of oysters, but it was a good deal nonetheless.

    Best bar in the city? Who knows. One of the best drink experiences in the city? Yep. Everything about Mace is well thought out, innovative, and most of all enjoyable. My favorite drink was the Oregano Milk Punch and the Pandan Milk Punch. Never had drinks with flavors like that. The menu layout is excellent and easy to read for anyone to understand. If I lived closer, I’d be a regular.

    3 years running on the Top 50 Bars in the World list and very well deserved, a must visit! Every cocktail is based around the particular herb that is its namesake. Theyre all extremely creative ranging from the more straightforward frankincense (take on smoked Manhattan) to adventurous choices like the oregano (tastes like if you turned pizza into a drink, weird but fantastic). Personal favorite is the licorice in both taste and presentation. Youll want to try them all!

    This place has one of the best cocktails in New York City. Every cocktail uses spices that are associated with a country.I got Ube which was unique, delicious and outstanding!     Very cool “spice” themed cocktail bar. The Mace was awesome- beet juice aquavit and mace must go great together, who knew!? The salmon tar tar was a nice happy hour special and was good too. The Tarragon was also very good. The creamy pandan and the frozen cardamon were not out favorites but were unique at least.

Relaxed atmosphere and creative cocktails each crafted around a spice from various regions around the world.They have a happy hour until 7 pm Monday through Friday that usually features 1-2 cocktails for $12 rather than the menu cocktails that go for $16-$20.Food: The sesame cauliflower is very good, but only comes with 7 pieces.Drinks: My favorite on the current menu is the pandan. In the past it was the Sumac, which was like a banana smoothie.Off menu: We ordered through the entire drink menu and got a free round of pandan spiced shots. Highly recommend!

    We went here once after going to a neighboring bar (Analogue) every week for months, and regretted not finding this place earlier. Marie is a great hostess and Jules is one of the friendliest, most skilled bartenders we have run into in the village. Their recommendations are spot on and their drinks are top notch. The food was pretty good, but service slowed down as the place filled up.

    Amazing cocktail bar with great food, atmosphere, and superb service! Last night, our group of ten had a reservation at Lillie’s, but it got canceled three hours prior, forcing us to improvise. Im so glad we ended up at Mace!First and foremost, kudos to the incredible hostess who quickly found a spot for our large group. From there, everything was fantastic - perfect snacks, intricate cocktails, a friendly server, and fast, accommodating service. Each of us ordered a different drink, and they arrived seemingly in no time. Overall, we had the best time! I also want to mention that the bar isn’t small; it’s intimate yet spacious.

    The vibes are immaculate!! Mace is an experience & I cannot recommend this spot enough. The cocktails are so cool (like, cool enough to have literal ants on the rim of my tequila-based drink with the standard salt garnish), the atmosphere is so lovely, and the staff are SO nice!     Overall drinks and oysters were great. I showed up during happy hour and the hostess told me that the paper menu she handed me had the happy hour food and the bartender would tell me the happy hour drinks. Well the bartender did not.     One of my more enjoyed cocktail experiences, hands down. Love the rotating, evolving, and even upgrading (!) host of libations available. You dont come here to get drunk. In fact my preferred methodology is to go here on cannabis, really brings the multifaceted flavors and thirst quenching properties of the drinks out. The bit of alcohol is just a nice cherry on top. Worth every penny in my opinion, and thats rare.

First of all let me start off by saying the hostess Sam was a complete sweetheart and accommodated me right away.     This is one of my favorite cocktail bars in the city. Incredibly innovative, delicious concoctions that change every few months, in a low-key, relatively quiet space. Its being dimly lit, with candles, adds to the mystique, and I cant help but think that Ive ventured into some fancy forest healers hut, where the cure is esoteric booze, and lots of it.

    Came here to try cocktails and eat food and had a great overall experience! We tried almost all the food and plus the seafood platter. Food was delicious 🤤 portions were small though! We also tried a bunch of cocktails and they weren’t the best. The wine was great. Overall, a great place but I would skip the cocktails!

    There are cocktail bars, and then there is Mace. The new location is lovely, with ample seating and beautifully decorated. The cocktails are world class with absolutely crazy wonderful flavors. The scene is vibrant, but not too loud that you cant hear the person youre there with.The pandan clarified punch was fantastic and the fennel pollen drink made me actually enjoy Aperol for the first time.Most importantly, the staff at Mace just exude hospitality and professionalism.     Its often too easy to write off yet another cocktail bar -- but not this one. Tucked away in a quieter part of the East Village, this place brims with the hip and in-the-know. Drinks are unique and full of ingredients you may not know, but soon will.     Mace is a really unique cocktail experience - a must try for cocktail enthusiasts! Their whole premise is that they build cocktails around different herbs and spices, many of which you will not find featured at many other bars in the US. We spent a decent amount of time here, trying several different cocktails. Our favorites were the Chervil, Dill, and Ube cocktails. For each of these, the herbs were prominently featured and creatively balanced with other ingredients. The Mace cocktail was also quite good, but it may be a little too beet forward for some guests. The other two cocktails we tried were the Thyme and Pandan. The Thyme was a wild drink. The whiskey and cognac make this a slow sipper, and the goat cheese washing technique defines the sensory experience. If you do not like goat cheese, definitely look to another drink. If you do, however, this is a drink Im glad I was able to try, but I probably wont order again. Lastly, the Pandan was the most underwhelming drink, which was disappointing since it is the priciest. The pandan flavor is quite muted, and we instead mostly get a strong smack of vodka with each sip. This might not be the best place to meet for a quick drink if you arent cocktail adventurous. We did make reservations in advance and had no trouble getting quickly seated when we arrived.

Pricing was high but I felt like I was getting what I bargained for with the expertise. Top tier.     Signature cocktails are absolutely unique and taste delicious. We tried the Mace and the one with matcha, don’t remember its name. I’d like to mention the beautiful and well structured cocktail menu, it was really nice to explore it. They even point out the vegan cocktail options! Also they serve delicious food (small plates only). We tried the cauliflower (loooved it sooo much) and the salmon. If you need a calm and in every sense nice place – there it is. Definitely coming back.

I definitely had to check out what all the buzz was about.The drinks had the most creative ingredients which might give you pause when you’re looking to try something, however when they all mix together, the end result is packed with flavor and extremely tasty. We were 4 of us and ended up trying 8 different drinks over the course of the night and I cannot say I didn’t like one particular drink.What was also cool was that these drinks were spin-offs on classic drinks but are so far off on the taste profiles that you’d not recognize them.I’m not going to try to describe the drinks as they were so complex, I wouldn’t know what I was tasting tbh.     Difficult to describe, but essentially the cocktail menu here is something out of this world and the drinks will be a taste explosion you didnt expect.     Its a quirky take on cocktails based on spices from around the globe--great concept considering when you see the word cilantro and you expect an incoherent drink. However, youd be pleasantly surprised by the complexity of the drink--this is true to almost all of their creations. Go with an open mind because if you go in with a vodka-screwdriver mentality, youll be out of your comfort zone. A great place with a genuine concept, accompanied by an amazing staff. Must visit! But PLEASE fix the air-conditioning unit!
