    If you want an authentic and absolutely delicious Mexican meal, this is definitely where you need to come! Couldnt fault anything on the menu. We shared chicken and steak tacos, chicken wings, and the salsa and chips and loved all of it! The drinks menu has a great variety. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Only downfall from the visit was that the music was very loud.

    Fun little Mexican spot in an area of midtown you wouldnt expect any good food. Wings were outstanding, just spicy enough to make you enjoy your beer (or other beverages). The mushroom carnitas tacos were delicious, made with fable mushroom (look it up). Churros are tasty on their own, but the caramel sauce on the side- oh my. I want to take some home. Will definitely be back to eat again.

    Great spot. Good vibes. Ordered a quesadilla which was really good and fresh. Had tortilla chips that came with three sauces. The coconut margaritas were really good. Gave me a nice buzz. I do think they were over priced. They were served in a small glass at 16 a piece with the flavor included… 28 per plus 4 for coconut flavor… I thought that was crazy. Other than this nice spot.

    Sat at the bar. Fantastic classic margarita. Ordered the wings with the sauce on the side. They were great! Then, a steak burrito. It was not so good. Loaded with what tasted like parboiled rice, so it was crunchy. Heavy beans and rice with little meat. We ordered a $12 order of chips and queso just to try to help the flavor. Great service and atmosphere!! I would try it again, but no burrito!! It would be nice if they would add a side of queso.

    The portions were huge and drinks strong and tasty. My friend and I came in with 10 minutes to spare before the kitchen closed – and the whole team was super accommodating to bring us the food and serve us. We never felt rushed even though they were closing. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the atmosphere friendly and great for drinks and food. Highly recommend..

    This place is really cool. It was my first time here and I sat at the bar and had a great meal and drink. If you like margaritas, you will love these because they taste like they are made with fresh ingredients. They only have happy hour from Monday to Thursday which is unfortunate but I still enjoyed my time there. When I go back, Id like to experience happy hour to see how they compare to other places in the city

    This was right by our hotel and we were craving Mexican. We were seated immediately on a Friday night and the service was quick and attentive. The food was delicious. We had the salsa sampler, chicken quesadilla, steak burrito, and street corn. Also highly recommend their Mad Dog Margarita. Will definitely be going back.

    Great service, great happy hour, and great margaritas!! Came in for happy hour, Juan my bar tender was busy but very attentive. Perfect frozen Margaritas, and ordered the salsa sampler !!! Green was great and tasty and red was spicy and very flavorful!!! Didn’t get to enjoy the entrees but will def be back !! Tons of tequila!!!

    Company ordered lunch from here for the first time and a great first experience! Food came nicely and securely packaged. Everything was so delicious. We as a group ordered Chicken Tacos, Burrito, Steak Tacos, Guac, Pork Tacos and Shrimp Burrito Bowl. Everyone loved their food.The food travelled well so I can only imagine how even more amazing it is when you dine in.Can’t wait to visit in person!(We ordered through seamless, and accidentally put in a shrimp burrito instead of shrimp burrito bowl so called the restaurant right away and they were able to notify the kitchen of the slight change which was greatly appreciated)

    Great quick find in the neighborhood! Great food, and cool spot in upper Manhattan. Family enjoyed dining for dinner. I had the al pastor tacos, my wife had the fajitas, and my bonus-daughter had the cheese quesadilla. We also ordered the queso and chips. All had great flavor. Definitely use the citrus in their seasoning. I loved that, my wife did not as much. Still she enjoyed it, as well as the entire family.

    Great restaurant and location. I enjoyed the food, music and excellent bartenders. The only issue was the smell of the location when entering the restaurant. It smells a bit like cleaning products and a bar. It needs a little air. Apart from that, it’s a great place for a fun dinner and drinks! They always have great music and all the latest sports games playing on the TVs. Very cool place for excellent music and to go as a group of friends and people. There are many specials depending on the night.

    Had gone to the other location years ago, but this was my first visit to the location on 38th, first excellent service as we walked in, got seated right away with plenty of room for baby in my stroller. The menu of food and drinks is big, I ordered a coconut frozen margarita, delicious and real unlike places where it’s overly sweet. Next up guacamole with fresh tortilla chips, highly recommend to share, chicken chimichangas then tried the Carnitas Tacos, all really tasty and flavorful. You can tell the pork had been roasted for hours, I would definitely come back, really great place to get together with large parties, co-workers and friends. They have margarita towers for sharing. I didn’t take pictures unfortunately was too hungry and forgot but enjoyed the experience , highly recommend!

    We went on a Monday around 5 for a pre-show dinner. The service was fast, and the food was delicious. We tried the elotes, cheese chimichanga, and tacos de carnitas. They dont serve hot drinks, which was only unfortunate for us, as we were jetlagged and wanted some coffee. But the food was fantastic and service very prompt! Ill likely go back to try more dishes on my next trip.

    Had delicious lunch at this restaurant with an old friend yesterday. It is steps from Fifth Avenue. Though there were very few diners inside the location, the server was very friendly and professional. Upon entry she asked for ID as well as proof of vaccination. The restaurant was clean. There were many booths and seats available. We started with yummy steak nachos, complete with sour cream. The steak burrito arrived quickly and hot. It was a very large portion and tasted delicious. I would definitely go there again.

    Found a cool Mexican place to eat & drink. Excellent service and lots of drink options. If I wasnt from CA, I would say 5 star but Mexican in CA tastes so much better than out here. We ordered chicken chimichangas , steak fajita, chip & salsa and frozen margaritas. Salsa was very fresh but little bland had to ask for jalapeños to add flavor.I was little disappointed at chimichangas. This one kinda tasted like school cafeteria food. Some of the rice were hard. Steak fajita didnt have enough flavor. Frozen margaritas was little too sweet. Other than that, cool atmosphere!

    I love the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant. However, I ordered the chicken and steak fajitas and got more peppers with 2-3 pieces of chicken and 2-3 pieces of steak.     Stopped in randomly for happy hour after running some errands in the neighborhood. I got nervous about my decision when I tried the wings (They were wayyy too spicy. For context I am Caribbean and am not afraid of spice). I couldnt finish more than 2 wings! However, I did enjoy the side of rice and beans.The drinks definitely made up for the hot wings, as the happy hour margaritas were affordable and delicious. I also tried the Art of Aging Tequila flight, which hit me hard (in a good way). If I am ever in the area again, I would definitely return.

    Food is great. Loved the crispy flautas. Cocktails are a great. A nice variety of flavors and at a more than fair price. Mad Dog & Beans even has great feel and night life. Raffles and events. Free samples of great artisan beers and tequilas were being given the night I was there.My husband and I went there twice in one day on a day trip to New York City. We loved the relaxed fiesta vibe during lunch time so much that we went back for dinner but dinner was an ENTIRELY DIFFERENT FEEL and we LOVED IT! It was a like a party/bar feel. The energy was amazing! Not too crazy like a club but definitely packed with good folks and good music. Great service for a packed out bar. There may have been dancing farther into the place but i am not sure tho Id be surprised if there wasnt.I would definitely recommend this place and would love to go back.

    Good food, great service.Only negatives were the heat for the outside dining was too much power for the energy source so it could not remain on and its cold at night.We were a party of 7, we were told it would be 30 minutes for a seat and we could begin outside then move inside once there was space then was told theres no seating for party of our size.We had the tower..which was delicious..but there was a lot of ice.The drinks were strong and tasted great worth the money. Elizabeth was our host and she was super chill and nice..was very knowledgeable about drinks.Food was flavorful and fast.

    My sister reserved a table here for my bachelorette dinner. Loved the atmosphere here! So cute, full of lights and beautiful decor. The servers were friendly and attentive.     What the heck is the secret ingredient in their house margarita?! Its the best margarita Ive ever had. Wish I knew what it was cuz it makes margies even yummier. I havent found any food on the menu that wasnt awesome. I especially love the nachos, and the appetizers are perfect for after work snacks.     My friend and I were seated immediately and greeted with smiles. The food was delicious, beautifully colorful, and filling. The music was very loud and distracting at some points but it was fun seeing some people just start dancing.The tacos were small but really tasty, this was my first time trying an Elote and it was pretty good, I like the sauce on it. The chips and guac were so addictive, it was really hard to not keep eating them. And the drink was tasty as well!Overall, I definitely wanna go to the other location and try more options.

    Been to this place 3 times now, and every time Ive experienced excellent service, friendly staff interactions, and some of the best Mexican food outside of a truck! We brought our niece in whos a picky eater and she was able to enjoy herself, and the bartender even made her fresh lemonade! The Margaritas are top notch, and they always seems to have a special on where your meal includes a margarita for under $20. Definitely worth the short walk from Times Square or Rockefeller Center!

The goal was a lively atmosphere, reasonable prices, and somewhere you can look a bit done up without feeling totally out of place and they hit the spot.🆗 Guacamole + Chips: More like OK+. Im a big citrus/acidity person and a bit more lime would have taken us to the next level. As a whole the texture was on the creamier more mashed side and a double sized portion was perfect for our group of five. Chips were on the thinner side and very deep fried without being super oily. (3.5/5)✅ Chicken Chimichanga: I love that they serve two smaller chimichangas versus one giant one. It makes it more fun to eat but it also allows their terrific red sauce to really coat every nook and cranny. The red sauce has a very earthy spice undertone that I absolutely loved. The chicken itself was a little bit on the dry side due to how small it was cut but the actual flavor was excellent and the glob of cheese and all the sauces help the dryness along. (3.75/5)✅ Mango Margarita Tower: definitely a bit pricey but a very fun option when you have a larger group. We managed to get about 10 drinks out of the tower and every cup is absolutely delicious. The mango flavor is powerful but the tequila still shines through a bit. I also love that you can customize what’s on the rim of your glass. You can get salt, sugar, or tajin. Definitely recommend Tajin if you’re getting the mango! (5/5)

    Ate here during phase 2 with outdoor seating. It was AHHHMMMAAAZZZIIIINNNGGGG. The spocy guac was to die for, reminded me of the fresh guac from Mexico. My only wish was for them to have a vegetable enchilada. The veggie burrito and the grilled pinapple salad were also awesome.

    Is nice inside but pretty regular.. thought it’d be more of a party atmosphere seeing as to how had reservations on a Saturday for 9 but was rather relaxed .Edited : So I went here last night again with a few friends and the service was very well , waitress was good, atmosphere was good. My stars still stand at 4 but because of the kitchen messing up the same 2 orders twice. We’d gotten burrito bowls and asked for it to come with out tomatoes or guacamole but instead it just came without anything on top and was very dry. Spoke to manager he apologized and had the kitchen remake it to go since we were heading out and in the bag they put guacamole, sour cream and tomatoes on the side but still no queso. Now I get it it’s Saturday night and everything but once again for a Saturday night this place wasn’t crowded... it was not empty but it was not crowded so to mess the same thing up twice especially when one request came from the manager himself is a little odd to me. Drinks are good and again the atmosphere is great for a Saturday night if you’re someone like me who really just can’t stand club where everyone is hip to hip and chest to chest, nor extremely loud music. I can see myself giving this place another shot I just know to stay away from the burrito bowl next time.

    Delicious Mexican food in a convenient location. Its on the site of an old TGIF. For an NYC eatery, the prices are very reasonable. The staff is very friendly.

    Great location , only a few blocks from Grand central, was recommended by a friend to try it out. Really cool vibe to the place, our waitress was very friendly and gave me and my friends some time to catch up while looking over the menu. Great list of tequila and cocktails. I got the pulled pork tacos 4 for $15 (If I remember correctly!) and the quality was excellent. We got queso and chips to share, my friends for the chicken burrito bowl, and quesadillas, all very good! We got the churro and chocolate for dessert. My phone was close to dying and our sever offered to keep it nearby to charge for me! Hidden gem on Madison and would definitely recommend if looking for authentic Mexican food!

    My husband and I stopped in for a quick bite. We ordered guacamole and chicken chimichangas. The food was absolutely outstanding and the atmosphere sealed the deal. The atmosphere is what drew us in, and we weren’t disappointed. We will be returning. What a cozy amazing place!

    Pork tacos were tasty. Girls behind bar was cute and nice. Really good margaritas. Observation, when I first walked in they were playing latin music. It was actually nice n appropriate for a Mexican spot. Then it turned into grunge rock, which I actually liked back in the day but created a depressing atmosphere. Other than slightly depressing music it was quite good. Will go back.

    Great restaurant that I recently discovered when traveling to NYC. I usually have my go to Mexican restaurants in NYC, but this is a new one I would add to the list (especially if youre in mid town).Love their weekly specials, like their unlimited taco Tuesdays and included frozen margaritas. I still have yet to try their super large margarita. Their quesadillas and fajitas are a go to as well. There is also something special about their black beans, so I would recommend getting those as well.I would definitely considered this a great place for happy hour or a go to after work hours, especially since its reasonably priced.

    We went for food. It was good, and not too pricey either. I got a quesadilla, and it was really good. The reason why I give it 4/5 is because it was a little bit loud. But again its a bar so we could not expect it to be different. Absolutely loved the atmosphere. Worth a visit!

    What a fun place, which happens also, to serve great food! Reservations were honored and seated quickly. Waitress was friendly and helpful in helping make some decisions. The chips and salsa sampler (pico de Gallo, salsa Verde, and tomatillo) be was excellent! Warning, very hard to stop eating these warm and crispy chips.Excellent Margaritas (mad dog bullet), but should have ordered pitcher instead of the two drinks each we ended up ordering.Entrees were outstanding and tasted so fresh! Chicken enchiladas topped with creama fresca and side of Mexican rice and black beans was so good as was the chicken quesadilla (big portion). Wish I had more time, would have had the fried ice cream (which I spotted at the table next to us) when looked delicious! Cant wait to return and try other items!

    Very decent Mexican food being presented millennial Manhattan fashion. If youre drinking with a group, it is definitely a opportunity to put on for the gram, with their margarita tower. Otherwise just expect guacamole to be more than 3 dollars for your next rice bowl

    Great food, the staff was really nice. You should try the Guacamole and Chips. A bit pricey for lunch but they are generous with their portions. This is a perfect place for hanging out but too loud for a client meeting.

    I recently visited Mad Dog & Beans Mexican Cantina in Manhattan and had a delightful experience. While I cant speak for the entire menu, I absolutely loved the traditional Nachos with black beans. They were incredibly flavorful and satisfying! Additionally, the Mexican IPA (forgot the name, will have to look it up!) they have on the menu was fantastic and paired perfectly with the nachos. It’s a must-try for any beer enthusiast looking to explore something different.The service was also top-notch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable! I highly recommend Mad Dog & Beans Mexican Cantina for a casual yet delicious dining experience. I look forward to trying more from their menu in the future!

    The drinks are always so good and the food is delicious! I wanted to try something new this time and went for their quesadilla, and I think I found a new favorite dish! You can never go wrong with the corn, and its always a must! The seasonings are so flavorful, and their portions are large for the price. As an appetizer, we went with the chips and salsas, and the chips tasted as if they were just made and perfectly salted. And the waiter we had was so nice and gave such great recommendations for food and drinks! All the staff was nice and made us feel welcome! I truly love going to Mad Dog & Beans, and I highly recommend it to anyone!

    Really had a nice tome at this restaurant! I had previously been n to their financial district location and also had a great time! Their food is delicious. Freshly prepared to order, served hot and their guacamole is made to order! Their beverages, although pricey, very goid. Juices ( if requested) are all natural and not sugary. They have a nice list of liqours , tequilla & whiskeys and a full bar. Remember, to ask for straws.Thank you Mad dog & beans ..we had a great evening!

    A great spot to get some bites of food with your tequila. I came with friends for lunch, so we had much less crowds to compete with. We got seated quickly and the food and drinks did not take long at all.This cantina is a nice spot off the busy main street, hidden by large offices. However, the colorful outdoor seating makes it easier to see. Inside, colorful murals, paper decor, and an overall dim interior makes it feel strangely cozy and intimate. High chairs are at the front, with lower tables at the back, and a bar opposite the high chairs. Despite the larger than usual amount of space for a restaurant in Manhattan, this place gets packed at late hours.The menu is not too big. It is entirely via QR. So you scan and look, then order. There are sections for quesadillas, enchiladas, tacos, and appetizers being mostly chips.I ordered the elote (street corn) and flautas. My friends got Margheritas, the chivichanga, and enchiladas de pollo. Songs in Spanish blared in the background, but not so loud that we couldnt hear our own voices.The food came quickly. Because of the dim lighting and me not wanting to use my flash, I couldnt exactly see how good the food looked. But the taste was enough. The elote corn had grill marks, though the actual taste of smoke was lacking. The sauce and tajin on it was very good and lingers on your tongue. The flautas come arranged in about five pieces, cut from two actual flautas, I think. Its on a plate with salsa verde and rojo, topped with queso fresco and crema. The skin was nice and crispy. The salsa pretty much takes over the palate so I didnt taste the filling too much, but it wasnt so acidic with salsa that I didnt feel some filling richness.It was overall a very good lunch for a decent price considering midtown.
