While looking for good pizza in the neighborhood with friends, we stumbled upon this Mexican restaurant—and it turned out to be the best decision ever! By far, this was some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had.The guacamole was so fresh and flavorful that we ordered a second round without hesitation. As for the fajitas (a mix of De Carne and De Pollo), they were absolute heaven—I didn’t want to share a single bite! The service was also amazing—big thanks to the waiters for their great work and attentive care. This restaurant is now at the top of my list, and I’ll make it a priority to visit every time I’m in NYC.Would I go back for the fajitas? Absolutely, 💯%! -

My friends and I went to Trivia Tuesday and had an amazing time. The upstairs is great for groups and the outdoor area is set right on the famous Stone Street. We got their passion fruit mango margarita tower split between 4 people and it was a great deal. We ordered their guacamole and chips and it was incredibly fresh. The portions were great for the tacos we got and had nice tortillas. -

This was a very good place for lunch. The food is awesome, it’s easy to get to, it’s kind of in a quiet part of the city, and the service was great. I’d totally recommend the chips and salsa. Perfection right there!I’d imagine finding parking for a car would be a nightmare, but I’d say it’s worth the hassle. -
Review 4 (2024-06-23 - Rating: 5)
Food is good and drinks are good. Service was good and the waiter helped us navigate what we wanted. Would definitely try them out again if I’m in the area. -
Review 5 (2024-06-12 - Rating: 5)
Food, vibe, and wait staff were all on point! We ate outside before visiting Wall Street, WTC, etc. Stone Street is the oldest street in the city so it was nice to take in a meal from it. All the food was fresh and good!!! -
Review 6 (2024-06-18 - Rating: 5)
Shrimp quesadilla was amazing! Shrimp in every bite! Everything was very good, the drinks as well. We had an outstanding server, Hadelly! She made my friend and I feel like we were on vacation! -
Review 7 (2022-02-21 - Rating: 4)
The aesthetic is very nice. The food is pretty good. Portions were pretty good too. The salsa was fresh and really flavorful. Served with some delicious warm chips. Our service was a bit slow and it was loud so not the best place for deep conversations. My margarita was well made. Definitely a good place for late night bar and Mexican. -
Review 8 (2024-05-22 - Rating: 5)
Lively ambiance -- relatively reasonably priced. Loved the tequila vs mezcal flight. Exceptional service. -
Review 9 (2024-02-13 - Rating: 4)
Ducked off location. Bar was busy, and bartender seemed a bit weeded. Nonetheless, the taquitos were fresh and flavorful. The frozen margaritas were strong but tasty. I noticed they have a very decent happy hour available Monday thru Thursday. -
Review 10 (2024-08-26 - Rating: 5)
Exceeded expectations! Food was great, service was fast, and prices/food portion size were really good value. Outdoor seating ambiance is really nice (on a late summer evening). The enchiladas verduras and mushroom protein tacos were both excellent vegetarian options if youre looking for that. -

I’ll have to admit, I was sketchy to try Mexican food in NYC! We were visiting from Texas and we love our Tex-Mex. We had been traveling all day and we were all starving and spotted this place and decided to just go do it. It was between lunch and dinner and we needed food and drinks asap. We dined at the cute outdoor setups they had that were enclosed to keep you warm. We had pomegranate margaritas and red sangria. All good drinks that really hit the spot!! We shared guacamole (could use some salt), steak quesadillas, and this gigantic burrito. Everything was very good. The staff was very friendly and dealt with us wanting our pictures taken several times. Glad we stopped here! -
Review 12 (2024-12-27 - Rating: 5)
Great food , wonderful Mexican music and atmosphere, spacious , generous portions ,excellent service , sangria pitcher is definitely worth it .A must visit after a ferry ride to Staten Island quick 8 min walk from the ferry dock and the subway. -
Review 13 (2023-11-23 - Rating: 5)
Been to this location twice. Both times had a great experience. The guacamole is a must order for the group. We got the spicy guacamole and it was spicy, but not too spicy. The wings were a generous portion and spicy. Will come back! -

Review 15 (2024-08-20 - Rating: 5)
Food was actually quite good! Got the guac as a starter and then a veggie burrito as a main. Price was really great for the amount of food you get so value was really nice especially in this part of nyc. If you’re wanting Mexican and in the area this is a great spot. Margarita was okay -
Review 16 (2023-08-08 - Rating: 5)
Loved this! Portions were generous, prices were reasonable, service was friendly and quick. No problem getting a table on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Should note that they will try to upsell at every opportunity. -
Review 17 (2022-07-12 - Rating: 5)
Visited mad dog on a Friday night, so much fun here ! The frozen margaritas were delicious. I was pretty tipsy after 3 😳 the food was amazing! I ordered the chicken flautas and my bf had the chicken chimichanga. We like his food better. The flautas had potato in it and I wasnt a big fan of the texture. The guac was freaking amazing and so were the chips. So flavorful and fresh. The whole vibe was dope, the music was mostly reggaeton and other Spanish genre. I was happy and feeling the party vibe. The whole experience was great. Will go back. -
Review 18 (2024-08-16 - Rating: 5)

Review 21 (2024-07-17 - Rating: 4)
If you want outside dining without the traffic, Stone street is a unique atmosphere in the financial district. Nestled by Wall Street, this pedestrian road is lined with restaurants allowing for outside dining and a break from the busyness of the city. Mad dog had decent Mexican food and a good atmosphere to sit outside. The guacamole is very flavorful and reasonably priced. I got the chicken burrito, it had a lot of flavor, but was primarily rice and beans, very little chicken. Over all reasonably priced, but for low cost dining in the heart of the financial district, be prepared for a lot of filler. This is also a great location to grab a drink with a group from work and decompress at the end of the day. Night atmosphere and good selection of Mexican drinks. The beer selection is on the light side.Overall great experience and unique atmosphere for the area. -
Review 22 (2023-05-08 - Rating: 5)
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Mad Dog Mexican Restaurant located on Pearl Street in the Financial District of Manhattan, and I must say it was a fantastic experience! From start to finish, everything was top-notch and deserving of a 5-star review. The Chips & Salsa appetizer was an absolute delight, with fresh tortilla chips that were perfectly crispy and not too salty. The accompanying pico de gallo burst with flavor and complemented the chips perfectly. It was a great way to kick off the meal and whet my appetite for what was to come.I ordered The Tacos de Pollo for my entree, which was simply fantastic. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the toppings of lettuce, pico de gallo, and fresh cheese added the perfect freshness and flavor. The rice and black beans side dish was a great addition and made the meal even more fulfilling.I also ordered a soda drink, which came quickly in a glass with ice, and I must say it was pretty enjoyable. The beverage was perfectly chilled, and the ice didnt water it too quickly. It was a great addition to my meal and the overall dining experience.I opted to sit inside and was impressed by the great decor and ambiance, which made me feel like I was dining in Mexico City. The service was fast, attentive, and friendly, making me feel at home. The restaurant also has outdoor street seating and a second-floor seating area, which is excellent for larger groups.Overall, I cant recommend Mad Dog Mexican Restaurant enough. If youre looking for a great Mexican restaurant in the Financial District, be sure to give Mad Dog a try! The food, service, and atmosphere were top-notch and deserve a five-star review. -

One of the best Mexican places Ive been so far💛 classic margarita is soooo good! Ive also tried grilled pineapple salad with shrimps, which was soo good. My boyfriend is crazy about burritos. And no doubts nachos con guacamole are just perfect 💛Strongly recommend it.P. S. Its better to make a reservation as its always full. -
Review 24 (2017-10-28 - Rating: 5)
Loved the atmosphere and the music at this place. Food was great. The margaritas are awesome and pretty strong. Definitely come back. They also have an out door seating area. -
Review 25 (2024-08-22 - Rating: 4)
First time here and overall I really liked it. The server was super chill and I loved her vibe. The chips and guac were too good. I swear it’s the best chips and guac I’ve had in my life! Literally the highlight of the day. The wings were to die for and the drinks were also fantastic. On the down side , I ordered the chicken enchiladas with mole sauce and it was unbearable. I’ve had mole before and it’s always been good but I’m not sure what went wrong here. It was so bitter yet somehow bland at the same time??? The actual enchilada underneath the sauce was good. Besides that I honestly would return I just wouldn’t get the mole sauce 😂 -
Review 26 (2024-08-02 - Rating: 5)
We went here on a weekday evening and loved the vibe. They have lots of seats arranged right outside the restaurant. We tried the cheese quesadillas and a Portobello mushroom fajita. Both dishes were served hot and had good portions. The prices are on the higher side but you would expect that in the financial district. We will definitely come back for the happy hour. -
Review 27 (2017-12-22 - Rating: 4)
The food was good & came very quickly even though it was very crowded with work holiday parties!! My coconut margarita with sugar on the rim, not salt was good as well. We missed happy hour , but still had a good time. -
Review 28 (2021-08-02 - Rating: 5)
Good traditional Mexican food. Mexican beers only buttels. Great cocktails. The only I would like to have options in draft beer ( as other bars around) , all menu oforteble price. Amazing guacamole! -
Review 29 (2019-06-30 - Rating: 5)
Deserves 5/5. Amazing Mexican restaurant with a nice colorful Mexican ambience. The food tastes amazing. The “Grilled Mexican corn” is finger licking good. The Fajitas was sizzling hot and the Tacos were nice too. However what kept us there glued for 2 hours were the amazing Margaritas. Would definitely visit again in my next trip. -
Review 30 (2023-04-25 - Rating: 5)
This was part of a Birthday celebration. Unfortunately we had eaten so we only got an appetizer and drinks. I must say the drinks had a punch and were delicious. The chips and spicy guac were to die for and fresh. Im sad we didnt get to eat an entrée. We chose to stay outside,, it was a nice night. Although the seating was close it has shields between the tables so you are completely safe!! Definitely will be going back for the full experience. -
Review 31 (2019-07-18 - Rating: 5)
Gargantuan portions, nicely spicy. Sitting outdoors while storm is preparing overhead. Really nice street with outdoor seating. Lots of after-work drinks. -

Mad Dog & Beans Mexican Cantina was great. I came after work in Summer when you could sit out the back on the cobbled street. It was such a great environment with all the seating outside. Given that it was winter, this time I sat inside and it was great. The food was tasty, the servers were friendly and attentive. -
Review 35 (2023-01-27 - Rating: 5)
Absolutely love Mad dogs! The service is what I like the most and Im very big with customer service. Paco the bartender is just the coolest ever! He takes the time to say hello and has great manners, the female bartender who was there yesterday is also very sweet I didnt get her name though. Their food is very tasteful as well as their drinks! Their margaritas are very good and strong, but I have to say their coconut mojitos are very good made by paco! Its close to my workplace so its very convenient for me to go after work. I recommend their guacamole and chips, nachos with chicken or steak and their hot wings! -

Rey nice warm cozy dining room.Started with guacamole and chips, quite possibly some of the very best guacamole I have ever had. I went here late at night about 2 weeks ago with my friends. The hostess was very polite. The waiter was also outstanding. His name was Felix and he went above and beyond with our service. I really loved the atmosphere of this place and it felt great. I highly recommend the tacos as they are the best tacos I have ever had. The drinks are also great and the money we spent was very little for the amount of food that was given. I can’t wait to go back here with more friends. A MUST GO! -

Review 61 (2022-11-18 - Rating: 4)
Chicken chimichanga was delicious. Never had chicken like that before in a Mexican restaurant. Red sangria was good, but nothing special. Service was disappointing though. I had to keep trying to flag down the waitress. The restaurant was probably half full but she never stopped by on her own after the food was dropped off. -
Review 62 (2022-12-23 - Rating: 4)
Nov. 23,2022@noonGood food, with very good portion, prices are the same around the wall st area, Got there b4 happy hr, so we spend good money for lunch. The bar Latino-man needs some customer service training, he is really good at making drinks, but not social at all, rem: bartenders are the psychologist behind the counter at every bar. Other than that I would return to this place for happy hr. -

The grilled pineapple avocado salad was pretty darn good, the service was good, everything was pointing toward five stars but there was no AC or fan and it was 90 degrees and humid outside. The restaurant wasnt unbearable and stayed pretty cool but they should at least install some ceiling fans. Otherwise, Id totally suggest it! -

The absolute freshest and best guacamole! You can tell they dont use avocado paste like too many other places do. The chicken fajita is delicious! Outdoor seating is perfect. You have your own little sections. Felt very safe. -
Review 87 (2014-10-29 - Rating: 4)
Great guacamole in the financial district! the home made traditional guacamole is ideal to share with a friend, the chip are also good. The cheese quesadilla was a bit disappointing...only contained cheese. But the ambiance is great you can seat outdoors, at the bar or in the upstairs more business related area. The portions are big and the service is friendly and fast. -

Review 92 (2013-08-05 - Rating: 4)
Sitting on the cobblestones street, kinda neat. The table wobbling the whole time, not so much. The guacamole was great! And truthfully, I dont often guac, mainly b/c most places, its awful, looks terrible and tastes worse. Here? Great stuff. Little pricey but given the location, understandable. Service was good, and our entrees were tasty. -

It seems like the more times I go to Mad Dog, the more I like it. Its a relatively low key lunch and happy hour spot for the business crowd, but it can be a lot of fun for the evenings as well. Its a great place to go if you want to avoid a large crowd but still have a lot of fun, and the price is also very reasonable. Some food items are better than others, but nothing is below average. If you do go, the guac is a must! -

Met up with my sister here during my lunch break. I was walking by the restaurant and heard the music pumping so it seem pretty appealing to me. The guacamole was fresh and a great size. The steak taco was okay. I didn’t like the red and green salsa that came with it. The rice and beans were not my favorite. I barely touched it. My sister liked her shrimp taco. The food came out quickly. Good service. -

Love the atmosphere and lighting. Food is good, but they need to improve their tortillas, which break apart easily. -

Had private party on the second floor. Excellent fresh guac and tacos. Tequila and cold beer, nothing better on hot summer night. Outdoor seating area is great too. -

Mad Dog & Beans is a Mexican restaurant with a large bar and is located in the financial district of manhattan. They also hold events. I visited it at night.I ordered a burrito bowl with chicken and my friend got fajitas with beef. The food itself is good and seasoned (lightly). There could be much more flavor added to the pico de gallo and the guacamole that is served to you.Rice beans and chicken were great in the bowl. Herb fries with the honey mustard was delicious. The bowl comes with tortillas on the side or chips.Fajitas is basically the burrito bowl but with beef and you have to assemble everything yourself, is it worth the extra cost ? Depends if you’re in the mood for beef. The wait staff was attentive and refilled our drinks and got us extra napkins. Definitely did not feel rushed and was checked upon numerous times during our visit. They play music as well at a loud volume but it’s good spanish music that anyone that goes out will of heard before and enjoy, even dance to in the restaurant. There is a large bar so if you’re here to drink and talk or dance then you’ll definitely have a place to be.I’d definitely return. -

Visited on a trip from the UK on a cold and very wet December night in 2011. Ordered far too much wonderful and tasty food. Got completely hooked on boneless chicken wings. Hoping to return late May this year (in hopefully warmer and brighter weather).. -

Food is really good, as is the service. Dont be in a rush going - its not fast. Good for groups. Best option for Mexican in the area. Work a block away, so we hit it up whenever a big group of us is going out for lunch. -

Best Mexican restaurant I have tried so far in The City! We just walked in when we were in the neighborhood and had to wait for a good one hour before we got the table. Its worth the wait -

Very friendly and attentive staff. They were great! Super clean restaurant with two floors. First floor has a bar and televisions as well as some tables. Second floor is largely tables. Its a great space for large parties. Plates come with large portions. Salsa and chips were yummy. Though pricey for guacamole, the cocktails were reasonable and delicious. Id definitely go back. -

A definite regular for the lunch happy hour. The wings are bomb. A huge reason my friend and I always come here is the bartender Armando - absolutely the sweetest and most accommodating. You’ll 1000% be taken care of when he’s behind the bar. -

After walking 10 miles all over the city trying to find this place, we finally got to our destination and I have to say that I am impressed by everything! My friend and I visited Mad Dogs for the first time today and we were first greeted by the host and she was telling us that there was a happy hour special going on. Let me tell you that this place was packed and I loved the atmosphere and the little sense of being in Mexico kicks in! Our waitress was phenomenal by the way, forgot her name but she was wearing a Bad Bunny hoodie with blond curly hair hahah! She was great and friendly. We ordered their signature Margaritas which were simply Devine! You have to get the strawberry one too but don’t worry Not too strong, but packed with flavor and deliciousness! Let’s get to the good part, I ordered their Mexican style chicken wings which packed a little kick served with I believe some sort of ranch and bleu cheese sauces but the ranch took my breath away! Soooo good. I also got their carne asada burrito, cooked to perfection! Delicious Guac on top! You can’t go wrong ! BUT, my favorite item on the menu would have to be their ELOTE! yes! Their Mexican style corn on a cob hahaha! Mouth watering and a party in your mouth, a little spicy but it was phenomenal! I wanted to get 10 ordered of those! Everything was cooked to perfection and on top of everything, our food service is outstanding. We had our food on our tables within MINUTES!! not easy finding that in Manhattan now is it? So listen, if you’re in the city and you’re looking for a fiesta, come on down to Mad Dogs! -

This place serves some of best maxican cuisine in New york city. I was there with my colleague and we had feast. There menu is balanced; and portion size is good. Even simple item like tortilla taste different. They definitely sourced it exclusive or made it in house.I will recommend avacado dip (medium spicy) along with salsa sampler. If you go with mojito; it will definetly feel refreshing in summer. Their main course are equally tempting. But by the time you will finish appitizer I bet most of you will feel half full. :-) So to enjoy the feast I will recommend go with big appetite. Our main course order were chicken quesadillas and fajita de carne . And it was equally tasty so we end up over stuffed.Everyting cost us $138 with tip. (Including 4 Mojito drink). But it was worth every penny. -

Two words: margaritas, guacamole. What more could you need on a summer day? It gets PACKED in the summer and sometimes the wait is hours long, which just is not worth it. But whenever you can slip in (late lunch, like 3pm, Fridays in the summer is a good bet), the margaritas are delightful. -
