Was the perfect venue, for our official Madonna madame x album release party. But besides that, its the core is very boutique style dim red lit rooms and a very cute garden out back. Its a very seductive atmosphere with red lighting, an upstairs whats a little terrace thats enclosed. Also in the wall upstairs there is a place to lay and chill with dim lighting which is very cool if you want to talk with someone or post cool pictures oh, I enjoyed the atmosphere very much. The bartenders that were working there made the drinks very good there was strong but not too strong. $8 for a mixed well drink in the East village is pretty damn good. They also had signature drinks that were very pretty to look at an serve them and nice glasses so I give the bar staff five stars alone. I will have to go on a regular evening to see what kind of music they play. Its a lounge type feel as well and they serve food and there are tables. I fear in New York City check out Madame x cabaret / bar / lounge West Houston.

Great music! The DJ play every genre from old school to New school R&B , hiphop, Disco, Reggaeton and reggae, he even played rock music smash hits. They have Vodka and Pineapple for 11$ kinda of cheap compared to other clubs drinks. And 10$ happy hours specials before 9 pm on Thursday and Saturdays.

This intimate lounge is a nice hangout with good music and great vibes. You can relax and people watch as the night rolls on. The bar is a great area to mingle with other people or drift to the back and hang out on the couches.

Went last Wed it was 90s R&B night. How could you go wrong? I stood with beer and had a glass of noir at the end of the night. Wine had been opened a lil too long but, lets be real; u go to Madame X for the atmosphere, velvet couches, weird pictures with friends and ability to smoke up out back. Not the wine. Bartender was chill, Bouncer was cool too. Had a great night, would definitely come back.

I cant speak for the main bar experience, but we had a fabulous time last night while we rented out the salon for a private photoshoot. The staff were incredibly accommodating, non-judgemental, and fun. They allowed us to set up our gear, play our own music, and kept the bar flowing until we wrapped up. Thanks for everything, and well most certainly be back to visit again! 💜

Fabulous and fun place. Madame X is a gem! The space is cozy and sexy (as promised) with a variety of vintage couches. Do try the speciality drinks, they are SO GOOD. Fresh juices and yummy flavors will have you coming back for more. GREAT music from the DJ. Me and my friends had so much fun here. Cant wait come back for one of their special events!

So I’ve been to Madame X a couple of times on my own. Both times have been great. The drinks aren’t watered down, the bartenders are great, the music is always a nice mix, and the crowd in general is always great. I’ve even made a few friends here before. Madame X has a lovely sultry vibe and I have enjoyed all the times I’ve been so I decided to host my birthday here!Hosting my birthday at Madame X was an absolutely incredible experience. I was quickly contacted by the event coordinator Amy who was very upfront and clear about pricing & etc. She worked with me amazingly to answer any questions and help with planning. She worked with me on my requests to send an itemized list of what we would be paying for and all prior discussed agreements and she did so for my comfort! She explained how we had control over the volume of the music for if we wanted a more bar experience or more of a dancing vibe to it.The area we picked is the Atrium (located on the second floor), which is absolutely beautiful and a great place to host. We had easy access to our own private bathroom for our group and a bar. The bar even had a water dispenser which was such a great touch to make sure everyone is hydrated. The music that night was incredible, my whole group had an amazing time. Leading up the event Amy said she would mention our genre preferences to the dj so that he could play those and he definitely did! We were able to adjust the volume to our liking just by speaking with the staff. By being able to adjust the volume we were able to use part of the space as a more chill conversation pit and another area for dancing, so it gave our group the best of both worlds! The staff were attentive and the drinks were great.Overall it was a smooth experience planning and getting information and a great night the day of our event. Pricing was very fair and reasonable. I highly recommend hosting a party/get together here and I definitely will consider doing it again in the future.

I threw a joint birthday party here with a good friend of mine, and I was met with nothing short of great hospitality, consistent communication, and love from Amy the host. Amy is an AMAZING host, always making sure to update us with changes and room reservation every step of the way. The music was so lit too, playing afrobeats, Latin, and hip hop, which was our schittck. Everyone at my party had so much fun! Not a single person complained. Whether you want to throw a party here or come and party here, it got all the vibes you need---sexy, immaculate, and overall phenomenal.

This is one of my favorite sexy spots. First of all the name, Madame X, promises for a naughty evening. Then the atmosphere which is dark and red with scandalous photos hanging on the walls. I wanted to give the bar a 5 star rating but our friend was assaulted by a drunk crazy girl at this spot at our other friends birthday party. Im sure this was an isolated incident and Security did respond and did what they could have but they did not detain the girl until police got there, as the law is unclear on detaining people according to them and they were nervous for further injuries and issues to arise, but they did ask her and her group to leave. We were having a good time until that went down...afterwards the night was pretty much ruined. Cant really blame the bar though, the drinks were very tasty, the music was very good and varied, and the ambiance was cute. Still, someone from our party getting hit in the head multiple times is sort of a big deal..im not blaming the place for psycho patrons on the scene but still sorta scary. They said that they would help us with footage and other info if necessary to pursue though law.

Love this bar. Its such a chill spot. Very intimate. I go here everytime im on canal. Reasonably priced drinks. Even though one time i saw a bottle of the cabernet sauvignon was priced at $40/bottle, but once i paid for it, it was $50. Either way this place was GREAT!!!!

They host a lot of different events for various tastes, so have backup plans if you are unfamiliar with the nights event; otherwise simply start or end the night here, as its conveniently located for a dark lounge bar.

The red room I call it. This is where my girlfriends took me for my birthday. It was mi t first time going and I had a great time. The drinks were good not to over powering, the music was mellow. When we got there it was still happy hour, the place was empty but after some time it started to pick up. The place is dark vampiric feel to it. Or a BDSM feel. Theres no food and thats ok. Its just a lounge where you can go and hang out with out the crazy. The staff was attentive with the drinks and service. Ill definitely go back

Supreme.The bar staff promised me it would start to fill up by 11pm, although admittedly this did fail to materialise.This most likely was down to the fact we went on Labour Day weekend.So, there’s nothing for it except to go again!What a shame?P.S. Note to management: I noted there were more men than women working the bar but, as this is primarily a lesbian establishment, it would have been good to see the tables turned

A lot of complainers on here that probably did not grow up in or around the city or any city for that matter and have no idea what good music is. Been here several times and each time was a great experience. DJ plays to the crowd with smooth beats and can take it back to the early 80s with R&B throwbacks. Chaka Khan, Mary Jane Girls, etc. Looking forward to going back soon.

During the week, a cool bar with nice remixes of hip-hop and r&b ballads, quiet and cozy lounge area with couches and chairs in the back. A few couples chilling with intimate conversations going.Weekends its usually a good crowd, good music and prime for a bar hop stop.

Loved this place. Celebrated my bday there and was able to reserve a couch without having to get bottle service. The bartenders were amazing and drinks were very good. No food but we brought in our own. The DJ played a little of everything, we had so much fun we closed the bar. Definitely a nice spot to drop in and enjoy the red light ambiance.

Kudos to the DJ. He was really good. Played some old school, new school, a little bit of reggae and some great afrobeats. The room we were in was very dim but had red lights. I gave it 4 stars because one of the staff members kept coming back to helpus but really all she did was interrupt us though out the night. She was borderline annoying. She would come to our table every 10 minutes to clean.

Walking into Madame X, you might be surprised that it is actually darker than most city streets at night. This is due to the red lighting throughout the bar and lounge (dont worry, your eyes will adjust soon enough) which is the theme this bar aims for - the red light district. Still, it remains classy with its outdoor garden and elegant lounge area where I spent most of my time.The seats are comfy and the service was good, but this isnt my typical spot.

Great for private parties. I threw myself a 30th birthday here in which I reserved the whole upper level for my friends, and it worked out great. For four hours in the upstairs space, they require a $1200 bar guarantee (as of Jan 2011), but this includes tips and was easy to meet with my group of about 50 - 60. Since there was no actual fee and I had been prepared to drop a couple hundred on a party anyway, one thing I did that Id recommend is buying some drink tickets. That way I could pass them out to broke friends & folks who showed up early while not having to deal with the expense of an open bar. And the drink tickets counted toward the bar guarantee. Ill probably have another party here in the future as I had a great experience.
