Maggies Place is another one of my favorite New York City Midtown pubs to visit. The decor within this establishment is nicer than your typical pub, and the food here has always been great. Try the chicken pot pie during your visit, it is fantastic! -

Walked miles to come here for a Guinness 0.0Very friend staff and the Christmas decorations were amazing.Sadly the food wasn’t up to the level of what I had expected, nothing wrong with it, the fish was just more of what I expect from a cheaper pub in the UK.But the bar and the Guinness 0.0 makes up for the food.Sadly we only made it here once on our visit. -

Great service in a great atmosphere. We went when only the first floor was open; it was cozy and intimate. It can get a little loud at times if its crowded. The waiter was attentive and created a welcoming dinner. The food and drinks were good. We had a couple of cocktails and local beers. I personally liked their Brooklyn pilsner. Heads up in the Dealers Choice cocktail, it has a bold cilantro flavor but very refreshing. We had the Shepards pie and calamari. The Shepards pie was just hearty enough for a casual night out and went well with the beer. The calamari was nice and lightly battered. We also had the chocolate cake for dessert and it rounded off the night well. Price wise, this place is more $30-50 per person without drinks. Be prepared for some NYC priced cocktails if youre planning to drink though. Overall, great place and it closed my vacation on a high note. Will definitely come back again if Im in the area. -

I wanted to love this place. The photos and reviews had all been so positive, and I had high hopes going in. I went with a friend for dinner on a Friday evening after work, looking forward to a great meal and atmosphere. Unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite live up to the hype.We decided to split two items: the Crab Cake Burger and the Maggie Burger. The Crab Cake Burger was the clear winner. The crab cake itself was flavorful and cooked well, and it was much better than I expected. However, the Maggie Burger fell flat for me. The flavors just didn’t come together in a way that felt exciting, and unfortunately, the seasoning was pretty bland. The fries, which are usually a simple but important part of any burger experience, were also underwhelming—again, lacking in seasoning and flavor. The bar area was beautiful and had a great vibe, which is definitely a plus. The atmosphere was welcoming, and you could tell a lot of effort had gone into making it a pleasant space to hang out. However, when it comes to dining, the food is the most important thing, and unfortunately, that’s where the experience didn’t quite hit the mark for us.While the Crab Cake Burger was good enough to salvage part of the meal, I’m not sure I’d return. There are plenty of other spots where I can find great, well-seasoned burgers and fries. Its always disappointing when a place that looks great and has so much potential doesn’t quite deliver on the food side. I’d be open to revisiting, but next time, I think I’ll choose something else to try. -

Can’t say enough about this place. All the staff are extremely kind and welcoming. It’s definitely my first choice when leaving through grand central for some food and a beer. My waitress Liv was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. She was quick with my food and drink. Not to mention her smile and personality radiates throughout the whole place. Great atmosphere. Great staff, Highly recommend! -

Came to Maggies Place after arriving in town late evening and hungry. They seated us quickly, the service was prompt and friendly. We had 2 Teddys old fashioned, sticky gochujang wings and split a Maggies burger with bacon and cheese. All were really good. The bill was also not bad at all, considering NY prices! It was also decorated nicely for Christmas which we enjoyed! -
Review 7 (2023-08-20 - Rating: 5)
We visited at 2PM on a Sunday for a late lunch, only one person working but they gave great service given that they had to bounce all around the restaurant and bar. The crab cakes were rich and luscious with plenty of blue crab, though they didn’t have much crunch on the fry. The fish and chips had an excellent crunch to them, though the fries were a bit soft for my liking. The spicy crispy chicken sandwich wasn’t particularly spicy or crispy, but the chicken was moist and cooked well. We were able to get a side of buffalo sauce and suddenly it was a nicely spicy sandwich. Also had excellent air conditioning and a perfect spot for us to cool off on a hot August Sunday afternoon. Would come back! -

We went there after seeing the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. The place was crowded, but we were lucky to be seated right away. We had the burgers, and they were good, I would go back. The service was good. -

Came in for a luncheon for 27 people and every order was done correctly. We ordered off the New York City restaurant week menu. Today I ordered calamari as an appetizer then the burger with bacon and an egg, My coworker ordered the fish and chips and we shared. Great retirement luncheon. Thank you for a very pleasant memorable afternoon. -
Review 12 (2022-12-03 - Rating: 5)
Love this place! People, atmosphere and food are all good. Been there since the 70s- It was recently updated but also kept the charm. The 1974 is a great cocktail. Loved the pot pie. Was packed with chicken and great on a cold night. My son crushed the burger and we stole a bunch of his sweet potato fries. Has a cool bar scene but i enjoyed sitting down to eat. We come here every time we visit NYC! -
Review 13 (2024-12-13 - Rating: 5)
Just had lunch there. Great vibe, friendly staff, food and drinks were terrific, even though place was full. Crab cake very good mushroom appetizer also good. Hard to find a good place in midtown. Ill be back!!! -
Review 14 (2022-08-17 - Rating: 4)
The vibe, appetizers, and service were amazing!! They played Irish pop music & it was so lovely! I loved the scotch egg - was my first time having and this was honestly filling on its own, but I made room for an entree and dessert! My partner also loved the truffle burrata and prosciutto board - delectable smell and taste. Unfortunately, the entrees and dessert fell flat for us both. Didn’t have enough flavor. Presentation was great but I’m more interested in how food tastes. Was fun to go for restaurant week but I wouldn’t go back. -
Review 15 (2024-12-02 - Rating: 4)
Went for dinner with the work team. Was crowded even on a Wednesday. We sat outdoors. The order took a while but we got it. The food was pretty good specially pizza. The drink I ordered was good too. -
Review 16 (2023-12-12 - Rating: 5)
This place was beautifully and simply decorated for Christmas! The food was absolutely amazing. We got the BBQ chicken pizza, the barbecue sauces was SO good! We also got the traditional wings and mozzarella kabobs! The sauces again were so good. We got espresso martinis as a dessert and they were superb! Definitely check out this gem! -
Review 17 (2024-10-18 - Rating: 4)
Service was great, food was very good - higher end pub grub not a huge menu ... also not horribly priced for midtown. Sat at a high top next to the bar so it was loud, which is to be expected ... we chose to sit there, probably quieter upstairs at the regular tables if you want to more easily converse. -
Review 18 (2023-02-25 - Rating: 5)
Went for early dinner with former colleague. Sat upstairs although we would have liked a table in the bar area. Went 5:30 pm. Not much atmosphere upstairs. Hardly anyone there. Music downstairs but we were able to catch up and hear each other.Food very good. Excellent service. Good menu. Good location. Recommended. -
Review 19 (2023-10-03 - Rating: 5)
Loved it here. Super chill, as expected for the area on a Monday night. Bartender was fantastic- music and vibes, immaculate. Great drinks. Got the brussel sprouts and just kinda wish the apples were raw. Would have been a nice crunch with the sprouts and blue cheese, but even cooked the dish was so savory and sweet, really great experience. -
Review 20 (2024-02-08 - Rating: 5)
Visited for Restaurant Week and enjoyed the menu, especially the Fish and Chip which were perfect comfort food for a winters night. First floor level is more boisterous but upstairs was quiet enough for conversation. Our drink order got a bit screwed up, hopefully thats an anomaly. -
Review 21 (2023-03-19 - Rating: 5)
Great place to go and hang out with friends or bring the family for an excellent meal. The staff goes above and beyond. It is also the best bar in NYC to celebrate St. Patricks Day in. -
Review 22 (2024-12-05 - Rating: 5)
Phenomenal food, friendly staff, and perfect ambiance! Our server, Itzel, was prompt attentive, and made our first time here incredibly enjoyable! Shes a great asset! -
Review 23 (2024-02-14 - Rating: 5)

Review 24 (2021-11-26 - Rating: 5)
For a Black Friday, it was a nice, quiet spot out of the hustle and bustle. Atmosphere was quite festive for the holidays. Traditional Irish fare did not disappoint. Crispy, flaky and light fish with chips and steaming hot, generously topped Shepherds Pie hit the spot on a blustery day. Since there were only two parties in the establishment, service was exceptional - friendly, attentive and gracious. Although we did not partake, Maggies features lots of draughts on tap! Highly recommend it when at Rockefeller Center. -
Review 25 (2021-09-16 - Rating: 5)

Review 27 (2022-04-14 - Rating: 5)
Terrific Irish inspired pub. High quality food, almost gastro pub quality. Attentive and friendly service. Expertly poured Guinness with a top consistent with the parish priest. Highly recommended. -
Review 28 (2022-02-09 - Rating: 5)
Simply amazing, elevated comfort food. The atmosphere is old world without being stale and the food and drink options are positively excellent. The scotch egg and elote nachos are a must try!!! -
Review 29 (2022-11-16 - Rating: 5)
Called in for a lunch time drink. We were met at the door by a lovely and friendly person, we then sat at the bar and the person serving was welcoming and attentive. The music playing in the background was great and the larger was crisp and cold. Would highly recommend! -
Review 30 (2022-10-01 - Rating: 5)
This place is a little underrated so I’m giving it 5 to help boost. For an NYC Irish pub it’s a bit more clean and vibrant. The Guinness pours nice and cold and the food is quality. -

Review 34 (2024-04-09 - Rating: 5)
Love coming to this place as a treat after a weird day. The Maggies old fashioned is the best old fashioned Ive had. The ahi tuna nachos are my favorite appetizer. Or if youre looking for something warming and filling, please try the Shepards pie with the cheese added. No matter how busy it gets, the staff are always nice and easy to communicate with. -

Review 36 (2019-12-29 - Rating: 5)
Nice midtown Irish bar. Excellent service. Food was ok, good selection of beers and spirits. Nicely decorated inside, lots of wood. Might be overfilled with tourist but, hey, its NYC. Prices are typical for this kind of places. Will come back. -
Review 37 (2022-02-28 - Rating: 5)
Among the wealth of midtown Irish pubs, Maggie’s is a chic, old-fashioned spot that’s always welcomed me in. Recently stopped in at 3pm for an after-lunch drink and the vibe was comfy and quiet. -
Review 38 (2024-11-16 - Rating: 4)

Review 39 (2024-03-17 - Rating: 5)
Came in on St Patrick’s Day in search of some corned beef and cabbage, and was very glad I did! A little Redbreast Irish whiskey and Guinness rounded out a fine meal. Great, friendly service and reasonable prices. Recommend -
Review 40 (2023-04-01 - Rating: 5)
Good service and food. Great drinks. Cute atmosphere. -
Review 41 (2018-09-19 - Rating: 4)
Very cosy place in the heart of Manhattan. Great beer selection and decent food, even though the fish and chips were a little over cooked and bland. Other than that we were more than happy. -
Review 42 (2024-01-29 - Rating: 4)
Great NYC lunch spot. Quiet relaxed nice vibe. Excellent food, I enjoyed an enormous, by Australian standards, chicken toastie plus the usual fries. Glass of Chardonnay to top it off. Just a bit dark for me but atmospheric and service was excellent. Probably need to make a reservation to guarantee a table. -
Review 43 (2019-02-20 - Rating: 5)
By far the best meal we have had in NYC on our trip. I had the Sheppards pie and it was to die for. My wife had the lamb burger and she said it was amazing as well. Service was top notch, seriously this is a must stop if you are in NYC. -
Review 44 (2023-11-08 - Rating: 5)
Better than any other Irish pub/bar Ive been to in NYC. Staff was friendly and helpful. Really great vibe to grab drinks after work. We had fish and chip and the shepherds pie with extra cheese (of course). Oh...and did I mention that they pour an amazing pint of Guinness. I strongly recommend Maggies Place. -
Review 45 (2024-01-05 - Rating: 4)
Maggie’s Place is the kinda place you duck into on a cold winter night. The pints of Guinness are perfect, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the prices are very reasonable for the area. I’ve only had the Fish n Chips, which were pretty decent. Will be back for sure next time I’m near by. -

Review 52 (2023-12-14 - Rating: 5)
Super cute little pub with awesome food. Was debating between the steak sandwich and their burger. Ended up choosing the Angry burger with cheddar instead of blue cheese. Super delicious. Ahi tuna nachos was delicious as well. Very busy place - all reservations were booked we got a table luckily but there were constantly people waiting to get seated. Anyway awesome little joint! -

Review 56 (2023-08-19 - Rating: 5)
Great place, has a lot of history, food and drinks on point. It was a little chilly sitting under the air conditioning but im sure its perfect once the crowd starts coming in. -
Review 57 (2022-08-07 - Rating: 5)
Neatly tucked away on 47th is this lovely little Irish pub. Beer is a good selection of local and typical fare and the menu is not a huge choice, but honestly who wants to wade through pages of items. The most important point is the quality and taste itself, which is perfect. The burgers are great and the fish and chips are also pretty good. I loved the atmosphere, small, no tourists just perfect. -
Review 58 (2023-01-03 - Rating: 5)

Review 62 (2022-11-28 - Rating: 5)
We had a fantastic meal and set of drinks here. My wife got the Maggies burger, and I had the lamb burger. The lamb was delicious and brought so much flavor to the burger, which had caramelized onions and goat cheese on it. The salad and fries with the meal were okay. The fries came in a little tin, which possibly led to moisture buildup - all this to say there were more soggy-ish fries than crispy ones. The Bluepoint Toasted Lager was solid and went well with the lamb.We had a great time and meal here. The atmosphere was nice - everything was decorated for the holiday season. One word of warning is that the mens bathroom is TINY. The door kinda opens *into* the men standing at the urinal. Occupancy: 3. Additionally, the door for the single stall also opens into the men standing at the urinal and blocks both the main door and the sink. Just open doors slowly lol -
Review 63 (2023-10-31 - Rating: 5)
Really nice bar. Nice Irish girl working behind the counter .ade us delicious cocktails. Clean and tidy bar with a huge selection of drinks and good music playing there. -
Review 64 (2023-01-13 - Rating: 5)
Great experience overall, from the moment we walked in the door through when we sat down and had our meal. There were 10 of us during prime time on the Friday night before New Years Eve, and we were accommodated in no more than 30 minutes. I had the Maggies Burger which was great! -

Review 81 (2017-03-14 - Rating: 4)
Solid lunch spot with good food. I really mostly like the vibe of this place. There are plenty of pubs around but this atmosphere is just different. Very comfortable feel. I would come here with people from work or for a causal dinner. The burgers are so good so check them out! -
Review 82 (2022-03-26 - Rating: 4)
Maggies is an attractive Irish tavern that makes optimal use of a narrow space. Lots of wood is the emphasis of the decor, though without overdoing it. The bar is long but narrow, leaving room for side tables on the opposite wall. An elegant library-like sitting area is in the rear. The restaurant also has an upstairs area.Staff is helpful and friendly.Maggies has good beer and Irish whiskey selections. As expected for an Irish place, wine is mediocre.Go to Maggies for after work drinks or pre - or post- theater drinks and food. -
Review 83 (2022-12-27 - Rating: 5)
Was there today. We were seated in a cold spot between floors.Anyway, the manager Janine was so gracious and accommodating about it that I thought I would take the time to say we appreciated her concern about our dining experience.I think we will be back.I never wrote one of these before. -
Review 84 (2022-04-13 - Rating: 4)
Came in for St Patricks day, and as expected the place had a great vibe. Menu was a bit limited, but I think that was for St Patricks day, food itself was good, not great though. Prices were a bit high, but sometimes thats what you get in midtown. -
Review 85 (2020-01-16 - Rating: 5)
This is a great Irish pub with a very good selection of beers on tap and Irish fare. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The pub has an old-school, rustic ambience which adds to the character and atmosphere of a Mom & Pops joint. Its in a bustling midtown area near the Grand Central. Definitely a must stop for Happy Hour before boarding your train back home. Sláinte! -
Review 86 (2022-06-12 - Rating: 5)
Food and drinks were delicious, service was fast. Perfect prices for a place that isnt the fancy restaurant of your week or of an NYC trip. Made for a wonderful stop before a Broadway show. -
Review 87 (2023-03-07 - Rating: 4)
Awesome spot for comfort food! Service could use some work and pricing was a bit much (although seemingly on par with other NYC restaurants), but overall the food and atmosphere were great. -
Review 88 (2018-10-24 - Rating: 5)
This place has been my go to spot for years. Great burgers, chicken pot pie, fish and chips, turkey club etc. And the best Guinness in NYC. But the best part are the people who work there. From the management to the bartenders and everyone in between. Keep up the good work Maggies team! -

We had our womens bar association meetings here a couple times. The first time, it was quiet and we had plenty of room. And the second time our experience was completely the opposite. Nonetheless the drinks were great as was the service and everyone had a great time. -

Nice place, the tables are too close to each other, tight atmosphere. The waitress was very nice, however they dont clean empty plates until you ask them. Food was okay. -
