Food just how my mom would make it. A musical bar vibe like my uncle would make it. Overall an excellent experience just what I was looking for visiting NYC. Service wasn’t the fastest but great nonetheless. Fresh hot food and mangu 24 hours! I mean come on… -
Review 2 (2022-04-11 - Rating: 5)
Awesome late night, fresh and authentic Dominican fare. Full bar. I had fried bass with vegetable and bean rice. My friend said his Cubano sandwich was fantastic. Maduros were also great. -

This is my favorite place upon entering NYC from the George Washington Bridge. Its on 178th I forget the name of the street but its one st down from Ft Washington. The Bistec is one of my all time favorites!!! Service is great, food is crazy good and if you happen to be in the area GO EAT THERE! Parking is on the street wherever you can find it. Bathrooms are clean and I should have grabbed a coffee but didnt this time. I highly recommend this place!! -

Cool little spot to hang out and listen to music while enjoying some good food. The bathroom needs to be cleaned though. I skipped using it. -
Review 5 (2017-12-19 - Rating: 4)
The food in this place is more than AMAZING. I have never had such a good. Every time my husband and I go here we get it. I really wanted to give Mambi a 5 star rating, however, the service really sucks. It is a very busy place and the waitresses don’t acknowledge you and leave you waiting for a long time. Usually, they give customers toasted garlic bread but they tend to forget it and you have to ask for it. -
Review 6 (2024-04-09 - Rating: 5)
Great food ,nice atmosphere will definitely come back again ,highly recommended. -
Review 7 (2024-11-20 - Rating: 5)
Dominican breakfast (mangu, queso, salami, huevo) and coffee (cortadito) are excellent! Kind service. -
Review 8 (2024-06-15 - Rating: 5)
Great Dominican restaurant in little DR. Very reasonable for what you pay. We got a cubano, roasted chicken, and goat guisado—all were very tasty, and the goat was very tender. Great service even though they were busy. A little noisy but tolerable (I’m hard of hearing so may not bother others) Would definitely go back. -
Review 9 (2024-07-01 - Rating: 5)
My mother in law always raves about this place. Visited her and we went to Mambi. We ordered white rice, beans, and fish, a piña colada, and a fried yuca ball with meat filling. All of the food tasted good. The next day she asked what do you want from Mambi, I said bring something different to keep tasting their menu items. Every visit we order something else and have yet to be disappointed. Its a tight space so I would order to go. I would also look at the food and or menu before even asking for help simply because things appear to move at a fast pace. Even so, I assure you they will take their time with you if you need it. -
Review 10 (2024-06-13 - Rating: 5)
This is a legendary place for me. Ive been going here since I can remember hanging out in the heights. The food never disappoints, and if it ever does, the other options make up for it. Love this place. -
Review 11 (2024-06-11 - Rating: 5)
Classic Latino diner with excellent food. Definitely get the chicken soup, or watch what locals order. -
Review 12 (2024-08-14 - Rating: 5)
Ive been coming here for over 20 years, and they never disappoint. The food & service are always great! On any day of the week or weekend, you best believe that when im in the mood for some good ole Dominican food, Im traveling from Brooklyn and heading my way uptown to my second home. -
Review 13 (2023-06-27 - Rating: 5)
The mofongo was amazing! The service was very slow but Im happy anyway -
Review 14 (2021-06-27 - Rating: 5)
Had a “Carnival del Barrio” here recently. Seated 21 of us with ease and had great service and authentic food. Food took like 20 minutes to come out so enter with a little “Paciencia Y Fe”. A bit warm so dress comfortable but nonetheless a great experience. -
Review 15 (2024-12-16 - Rating: 5)
Got food catered from Mambi for my baby shower and everyone loved it!! The prices are reasonable, the food was ready on time! Everything was perfect 🤩 please try the pernil -

Review 17 (2018-06-10 - Rating: 5)
I was in the Heights and wanted some mangú, found out about this place by searching Google maps it was right across the street from the IHOP my 4yo wanted to eat so I went and right away you get a sense of community. Reminded me of the vibe of restaurants in Dominican Republic. It was mid afternoon so I didnt think theyd have mangú, she told me they did so I ordered it. Im not exaggerating when I say it is the BEST MANGÚ IVE EVER HAD. It was SO smooth but not watery, it had a a great texture and was just perfect. My eggs and cheese were made to order. Great service, was in and served within 5 mins if that. Just great. They have a lot of food choices too, Dominican cuisine. They have meals, cuchifritos, sandwiches, beverages (natural juices and smoothies too), a bar I didnt ask but Im sure they have desserts. If youre in the heights and want some AMAZING Dominican food for a good price Mambi is the go to. If you go before 11am you can get the mangú for 4$, I paid full price for after breakfast and it was still worth the money. -
Review 18 (2024-05-22 - Rating: 5)
Great food. But the loud music doesn’t let you enjoy your food. At all times man there drinking. They care more about the bar than the actual restaurant. -
Review 19 (2021-12-08 - Rating: 5)
Its a nice place in Washington highs they have a nice and clean place the staff working there are very friendly. Food was great and the little bar there was very convenient. I. Definitely go back -
Review 20 (2023-12-22 - Rating: 5)
Incredible hidden gem! MUST TRYPeople are complaining on the ratings because theyre Americans going to a doninican spot and the waitress dont speak fluent English like them, dont be racist yall! Food and coffee are to die for 😍 -
Review 21 (2024-10-17 - Rating: 5)
** some of these reviews are racist ,the service is good. They speak mostly Spanish but make a great effort to communicate with everybody and the menu is translated.people complaining about a Dominican restaurant in a Dominican neighborhood having Spanish speaking staff are entitled and not the target audience.come here if you want an authentic experience. -
Review 22 (2023-07-30 - Rating: 4)
Picked up an order of Rice, beans and beef. When I got home no beans, just straight up gravy. Where is the quality control. Got to keep your eye on these business practices. Community tell me what you would rate this service? -
Review 23 (2023-10-16 - Rating: 4)
Go for good food and decent prices, not the ambiance. It’s like a very crowded cafeteria always. -
Review 24 (2024-02-21 - Rating: 5)
Great food, the Manager Luis was very nice. The prices are reasonable. I will surely return. -
Review 25 (2023-08-17 - Rating: 5)
Great service and Awesome Food!! -
Review 26 (2023-01-27 - Rating: 5)
They have been here forever while many others around closes down. They continue to deliver great tasting food at reasonable prices. Their rotisserie chicken is delicious 😋 and they knock it out the park with their Mofongos... everything taste the way its supposed to... full of seasoning, heart and soul. The only thing is I wish it was bigger.. it tends to get cramped up often but thats a good sign 👌 👍 -
Review 27 (2023-06-22 - Rating: 5)
9$ medium size cubano sándwich, not bad. -
Review 28 (2023-08-27 - Rating: 5)
The food is good. Mofongo was fresh, pastelito de queso tasted like it was just made. They were out of pastel en hoja but gave more pastelitos instead. Worth going to for food, but be patient, it will probably be busy. Its got that sitting down with the family feel to it. -
Review 29 (2022-12-18 - Rating: 5)
Restaurant is great 10/10! I eat there all the time but this last time someone named dolly served me and she was rude and just provided bad service. I will still eat there again but I’m definitely asking for a different waitress to avoid her. She might be new or something but she’s terrible. -
Review 30 (2024-12-22 - Rating: 4)
Good Dominican food priced right -
Review 31 (2021-08-28 - Rating: 5)
Mangu, salami, eggs & fried cheese with pickled onions. Oh boy, muy delicioso! -
Review 32 (2022-01-02 - Rating: 4)
As someone trying out DR food for the first time I enjoyed the breakfast menu where it had fried cheese and salami and the onions. It was really good and their chinchirros was also really good. Their other snack menu like the fried meat croquette like items cant be said the same either it was a bit dry when I got there or maybe its just me not enjoying it due to different taste buds. I would rate it around 3.5 to 3.8 if Im being honest. I went there on new years and they were still opened and they did their best to provide their service during a busy time. -
Review 33 (2023-10-22 - Rating: 4)
This spot is great! A juice bar, coffee counter an old school diner and a bar in the back. They have a whole variety of Dominican dishes and also had a chinese dish the day we were there. They gave us a taste and it was good! 10 pm on a Wednesday night and the spot had a vibe.We had bacalao with rice, bistek, rice and beans, bacalaitos, fried cod fritters, malta to drink and leche cortada and flan for desert.Bacalo: dried cod fish in a stew.Bistek : thinly aliced beef steak braised in spices and topped with sauteed onions.Leche cortada: slow cooked sweetened milk thats burnt a little. There is an Indian milk sweet similar to this .Nice late night spread the bistek was tender, flavorful and onions perfectly sauteed. The bacalao is a full plate. It is a salty fish so be prepared if you never had it before. The bacalaitos , cod fish fritters, was prob my fav. Light, not greasy and full of flavor. It would make a nice snack. -
Review 34 (2024-10-15 - Rating: 5)
Delicious food and not expensive prices despite is located in Manhattan -
Review 35 (2023-07-17 - Rating: 5)
For a 24 hour restaurant the food is always on point. Just had the Churrasco steak with rice and red beans, Absolutely Delicious 😋 They added a buttery garlic type of chimichurri sauce on top of the steak which came with pieces of yuca. Very affordable Delicious Latino style steak meal whixh comes with rice and beans that is good enough for two. Decent atmosphere, good service, good prices and great food, highly recommended 👌 -
Review 36 (2024-09-22 - Rating: 5)
Best place to order latin, dominican food! Service is great, sometimes a little slow. The sitting area is tight, a bit noisy, you almost feel like you are really eating at a restaurant in dominican Republic, which in a way is beautiful because it gets you out of the city. -
Review 37 (2024-05-08 - Rating: 5)
The shrimp salad over white rice and pink beans are amazing! Ceviche 😲 wow! 😎👍 -
Review 38 (2024-08-31 - Rating: 5)
You can’t beat it for authentic Spanish food. Casual, dressed for an evening out, this place attracts all kinds. -
Review 39 (2021-11-28 - Rating: 4)
Great Dominican food! Had the pernil which was nice and juicy! Their bisteak sandwich was good but definitely recommend the pernil. Friendly staff with the typical Dominican restaurant ambiance (loud music in the back, small space and a lot of people). Very reasonably priced- would definitely recommend -

My bf been eating here for yrs, my 1st time was the other day n the food was great. The soup, yummyyyyyy wish he gave me more carrots potatoes and chicken but I had gotten a small and bf got him a lg soup. He got some fish that looked like it was whiting n white rice with red beans and plantains, he said he liked it a lot and the only type of fish he eats is salmon so I was shocked he had likes it that much. I got yellow rice with stew chicken and plantains, it was yummyyyy. I normally dont get stew anything when I go out but it just looks do delishhh I just had to try and it was great. The customer service was good as well as the atmosphere. I would definitely recommend 👌🏾 -

Review 46 (2021-06-22 - Rating: 4)
The beef stew from the dinner shift is obscenely wonderful the beef stew from the overnight shift totally different beast but also abjectly delicious it started with the way the server put my plate together like it was especially made for me it didnt make it the seven blocks home ,I tore that plate up right on the corner outside with no shame at 4 am... My God, 🤑 -
Review 47 (2024-07-25 - Rating: 5)

Review 50 (2020-01-02 - Rating: 5)
The food has always been amazing in this place. I have been going to this restaurant since I was a teenager. It is a Dominican restaurant located in washington heights and east to get too. I had the mofongo and it was ohhhh so yummy. The place is a bit small as they have tables to close to each other so you wont really have that semi private space but the food makes up for that. -
Review 51 (2018-12-19 - Rating: 5)
So much food choice. I love this place anytime of the day or night! -
Review 52 (2013-03-20 - Rating: 4)
Every day they will have more than 10 different already made lunch items on the buffet menu. When all you have is 15 minutes and 5 buck handy before a bust day of meetings or rushing to the A train, this place is golden. It will save you money and time. The weight staff will treat you like they are you great aunts who want to feed and take care of of you. If your on this corner trust me you will not regret going in! -

Review 78 (2020-02-18 - Rating: 5)
Mambi helped me to rethink the meaning of comfort food.I am not from Little DR or even from Big DR, but wheneating that food, I felt at home.On weekends I was comforted by their sancocho. It didnt matter how hot it was outside,or how cold it was outside,it was like food from home, even though DR is not my home.I might leave my lab at two in the morning, hungry, tired, and defeated; but with a chicharron, everything was ok. I was uplifted by a chicharron,or by papa rellena, or empanadita; and I was ableto continue with my life. -
Review 79 (2015-03-14 - Rating: 5)

24 hrs place that is popular with locals and others.Spanish speaking very helpful, however staff accommodated this Chinese-American with no Spanish education.Check out their daily specials. Mouthwatering displays make you want to order everything.Portions are ample and satisfying. Pricing is very reasonable. No hidden extras.Always stop by when in the neighborhood. -

AMAZING FOOOOOD! And great prices. The morning staff women are the rudest women I’ve ever met in my life. But the night staff is AMAZING and friendly and always communicative to me, if even if they can’t take my order yet. -

Love the food there! Been going to el mambi for years. Personnel is always nice and sweet. Perfect spot for a quick, affordable and flavorful meal. It’s opened 24 hours, which is very convenient. My favorite servers are Luz and Osmel. They’re always in point with their service and great personalities. -
