So good! Everything about this place was great. We had the medium Carbonara pizza and it was some of the best pizza Ive ever had, if not the best. Everything was perfect. The medium was far larger than we expected, too. Ambience was perfect for anything from date night to business or family and friend gatherings. The service was excellent as well. Highly recommend! -

Great neighborhood spot for sit down pizza. It is Italian pizza and to set expectations the pizza definitely some American flair. I love the flexibility in sizes and toppings so matter how hungry you sre. Overall the pizza, fresh and served piping hot. Salads are yummy too, didnt have room for pasta or dessert. Great pricing and friendly quick service for lunch. While the restaurant wasnt full on a early week lunch day, it nice to sit in an airy and large atmospheres with booth seating. Excellent for groups. Well be back!! -

This classic Italian restaurant at Numero28 has stolen my heart with its authentic Neapolitan Pizza , mouthwatering pasta and delightful appetizers. The commitment to using fresh, high-quality ingredients is evident in every bite. The table side cacio e Pepe and tiramisu is absolutely a game changers. The interactive preparation of cacio e Pepe adds a unique touch to the dining adventure. As for the tiramisu , it’s a masterpiece. Made with fresh coffee and luscious homemade cream, it’s the perfect sweet ending to an incredible meal especially paired with Carbonara Pizza.Whether you’re planning an intimate date night or a lively gathering with friends, the Numero’s cozy ambiance and exceptional cuisine creates a haven for indulgence and connection.Featuring:🍝Cacio e Pepe🍕Carbonara🍰Tiramisu -

I went on my birthday, and I was lucky enough to meet at that time the manager, Alessandro, who is a lovely Italian guy from Milan, attentive, friendly and very focused on making me feel special on my birthday. We met the cheff, Antonello, a very humble and nice person. Their food is authentic and delicious; it is simply spectacular! the best pizza, the best burrata and the best dessert in New York City. Totally recommendable to go with family or couples. They also have a very good selection of wines and cocktails.I will definitely come back with friends and family! -

I was visiting New York and heads great things about this restaurant and I see why. It’s a small dim lite cozy place with a delicious menu. I got a pizza for myself and ate the whole thing it was so good. Our server was kind, bathrooms were clean and you can see the chef making your pizza it’s a fun experience. -

As Italian I can definitely say that here you can find the real Italian gastronomic experience. Flavours, smell, taste, atmosphere... every element reflect Italy’s food culture. It’s one of the best place in New York.Pizza is very good, pasta is prepared very well by a good chef. People inside are very nice. I suggest everyone to go here for dinner. -

Loved this place! Stopped here on the way back from a doctors appointment. We sat outside and enjoyed a delicious pizza for lunch. It was just my daughter and I so we got the individual pizza because we werent that hungry. The staff were very friendly and service was prompt. We will be back when in the area again. -

This restaurant brings Italy to NYC! The wine was authentic from Italy and so delicious! The food did not disappoint either! We tried the Margherita pizza, squid pasta, and parmesan truffle pasta! They were all amazing 🤩 And we had a yummy dessert platter at the end! Definitely check this place out. Alessandro and the chef were so nice!!! 😊 -
Review 11 (2022-10-25 - Rating: 5)
Had a large party here for brunch (9 people) Sunday and the service was amazing! Couldn’t find a single bad thing to say about this place if I wanted to. They were able to accommodate my request for a seating on the patio and even let me push it a half hour later when I saw members of my party were running behind. We did bottomless brunch and it was an awesome experience! The towers worked perfectly since we were such a large party and they let us change up what we got (Prosecco, Bellini, sangria…). We also definitely felt like we ran over our alloted hour but they were kind enough to keep serving us as we ordered more food. Everyone LOVED their dishes, I myself got a delicious personal pizza. The decor and atmosphere of the patio is a huge added plus too. The servers were all so friendly and made it a great experience. Will definitely be coming back! -

Nestled in the heart of New Yorks Upper East Side, Numero 28 promises an extraordinary dining experience. During my recent visit, I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional leadership of Manager Alessandro and the culinary expertise of Chef, who hails from Sardinia.Manager Alessandros warm welcome set the tone for the evening, ensuring every detail of our dining experience was meticulously attended to. Meanwhile, Chefs Sardinian heritage shone through in each dish, offering a delightful fusion of Italian flavors. The standout dish of the evening was the Fagottini, delicate pasta parcels filled with a tantalizing combination of ingredients. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, perfectly capturing the essence of Sardinian cuisine. The entire staff, with their dedication and professionalism, contributed to the seamless flow of the evening. From the attentive servers to the kitchen staff, everyone played their part in ensuring a memorable dining experience. In conclusion, my visit to Numero 28 Upper East Side was a culinary journey to remember. Thanks to the remarkable leadership of Manager Alessandro and the exquisite flavors crafted by Chef, it was an evening of gastronomic delight. For those seeking a taste of Italy with a Sardinian twist in the heart of New York City, Numero 28 is a must-visit destination. -

Review 19 (2022-06-11 - Rating: 4)
We had tried this place in person a few times (when cash only) and had tried delivery a few times. But our most recent visit really seemed to click. Nice service (including a card swipe from you table), good wine, nice starters, and great pizza. Now that Al Forno appears to have closed, this may be a go-to for us.Edit: We visited in person again last night. And while the flavors and service were quite good, I must note that I feel the pizza crust has changed. It was more flat and dense, less airy and charred as was expected (and loved) from a more traditional pizzeria. Almost made me wonder if the dough came ready made or chilled? Just left us slightly disappointed. -
Review 20 (2024-03-12 - Rating: 5)

Review 22 (2023-10-30 - Rating: 5)
Such a great neighborhood spot. Menu is perfectly balanced, food/service is a 10/10. Ask for Jordan, he’s the best!! -
Review 23 (2018-03-13 - Rating: 4)
Great Pizza - probably the best one in the upper east side. Beautiful place. Lunch specials of pasta+salad+bread+meat is great. Only reason for 4 stars is chicken always grilled and tastes burnt, and staff is great until you have a complaint...still, best Pizza ever -
Review 24 (2013-04-18 - Rating: 5)
This is really an Italian pizzeria and a perfect place for the Italians missing home (everybody speaks Italian!). We tried only the pizzas which are delicious (more Roma than Napoli style) and really Italian in the toppings and pizza combinations.Highly recommended also for the New Yorkers who wants to try the Italian pizza instead of the NY one! Maybe be not as cheap as I wish but its worthy! -
Review 25 (2020-01-17 - Rating: 5)
Great place to have sit down pizza that can be customized. Never to packed and the wine selection is good. You can request specific wine that is 50% off when ordering a bottle. Great value for the money -

If youre looking for good pizza that takes you back to that trip to Napoli, I think this is the place to go. Smells great the moment you walk in. Love the woodfired base. Light, thin, and crispy in parts with that slight char. Will come back. -

Review 44 (2019-10-02 - Rating: 5)
Delicious! I scanned over the menu outside and didnt see anything particularly interesting. I was about to walk off and scout the UES for something that would be satisfying and a passerby said, they have the best pizza! She didnt lie. I ordered the 5 cheese($17)and added basil and it is amongst the top 5 pizza that Ive had in NY. Very cozy place inside is dim light and limited seating. 2pm, no crazy lunch crowd. I opted to sit outside (sidewalk cafe) because its very nice out and I was dining alone. -
Review 45 (2016-03-13 - Rating: 5)

Review 75 (2019-06-11 - Rating: 4)
Food was delicious. Service was great. Setting was cozy. The front of the restaurant was open to the elements and we had a nice table across from the pizza oven and chef. Pizza was good, salads were good, drink selection was good. The crust and ingredients on the pizza and salads were extremely fresh and so was the fish. They do pizza right here, a true brick oven taste. One reason I did not give it 5 stars was because the salads felt a little overpriced for the portion. I think the pizzas were priced appropriately and entrees for sure for a fancy dinner spot. They are hanging out on the line between really good pizza joint and fancy Italian restaurant so nothing bad here but I would have given 5 stars if the prices were a little lower. They are however appropriately priced for a fancy Italian dinner spot in NYC. -

Review 79 (2021-09-22 - Rating: 5)
My family and I recently moved from the UES to Connecticut. Weve struggled mightily to find anything that resembles NYC pizza. It was such a pleasure to ride back into town and have such an authentic NYC pizza experience. Numero 28 is without a doubt in the top three best pizza restaurants in all 5 boroughs. -
Review 80 (2019-04-25 - Rating: 4)
Better seating for two would make a 5 star -

I work as a Postmates delivery person and Im always picking up orders from numero 28 and the place is always packed. I decided to one day try it out and I can see what all the hype is about it. The food was excellent and the overall feeling while I was there was very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. I will definitely be returning. -
Review 86 (2022-05-29 - Rating: 4)
This is a great neighborhood place that is totally worthwhile stopping by when visiting the UES ... and if desperate for good tacos would totally crosstown for it.What Ive had ...Ceasar Salad with Chicken ... pretty good salad. the dressing was really good. However, the chicken was somewhat dry and too much for a sale topping. Will definitely be ordering again, but no chicken next time.Tagliolini ala Bolognese ... amazing, home made tasting pasta and sauce. While I normally come for the pizza, the pasta is also an incredibly good option.Pizza San Daniele ... awesome choice!!! I love the dough from this place. Its thin yet crispy and perfectly balanced with the toppings. This applies of course to other pizza reviews I have.Pizza Capricciosa ... another great choice!!! Nothing else to comment other than its must try.Service is really good. Its really like being in a warm, friendly, family restaurant. All servers and host(esses) make you feel very welcome and have always been incredibly attentive.Ambiance ... not fancy, but a good neighborhood feel. The indoors is a bit dark for my taste, but now that they have the outdoor set up its always my pick. -
Review 87 (2016-11-29 - Rating: 5)
Its among the best pizza places in new york. This was my first time trying this location and I wasnt disappointed. Service was also good. Only thing, they take cash or AmEx. Something to be aware. -

Review 91 (2013-11-14 - Rating: 5)
Weve added Google Virtual Tours for all of Numero28s NYC locations and this time we stayed afterwards to finally try their pizza. That led us to write this review! The brick oven pizza is fresh and you can really taste it in the ingredients. The sauce reminded me of my mothers own recipe. We ate one with arugula and prosciutto toppings and it was truly a great experience. Highly recommended by Black Paw Photo! -
Review 92 (2020-08-10 - Rating: 5)
Outstanding pizza. As always. And nice outdoor seating during the pandemic -
Review 93 (2018-04-19 - Rating: 4)
Humongous, yummy pizzas, great service, lovely atmosphere, tables arent large enough for the pizzas though! Also the menus still say they dont accept card (although they do) and its a shame the Groupon deal was only available at their East Village location so couldnt use here. Toppings choices were a bit boring and repetitive, missing the basics of mushrooms, onions, olives and peppers. -
Review 94 (2019-02-14 - Rating: 5)
One of my favorite hidden Italian restaurants in NYC! Most people don’t know, their pizza is amazing!! Definitely one of my favorite pies here. -
Review 95 (2018-08-11 - Rating: 4)
It is a nice Italian restaurant in the Upper East side. They have a variety of pizzas and pasta dishes. I order the Giuletta pizza, it was good. Price is the average one for the area (around 15 to 20$ per dish). -
Review 96 (2018-10-22 - Rating: 5)

Review 97 (2016-02-11 - Rating: 5)
Went here for a quick dinner and loved the restaurant space and the pizza! We got the rustico pizza and split the small size. Plenty of food and we were both very satisfied. -
Review 98 (2018-07-15 - Rating: 5)
Delicious thin and crispy pizza, the Italian way, served on a wood tray big enough for two people. So, you can choose two different ones from the menu and they serve a big one split in two. My son and I tried francesina (speck+brie) and sausage green peppers. Excellent. To be picky, some details can be improved: low lights, too dark even to read the menu and the Italian music selection, not up to date, but a little obvious. However, very good service by the prompt and smiling waiters, interesting options of pasta in the menu and a remarkable tiramisu at the end. Affordable prices, will be back often. -

Review 103 (2020-03-01 - Rating: 5)
Took the family to Numero 28 for a Friday night meal. The Carbonara was to die for, the Calamari, light and crispy and the Numero Pizza was amazing. Prices are higher than a Pizzaria, but the food, pizza and ambiance are all better also. This is more a full blown Italian restaurant than a Pizzaria. -

This place is legit. Sadly, there is a Napoletana restaurant in San Antonio that just destroys any place in the world (Naples included) so Im pretty biased. BUT - the pizza was delicious.. I think we had the Romeo (had prosciutto on it?) and it was awesome. Devoured in about 4 bites. The caprese salad was a slight let down and mostly just a big hunk of cheese with not many tomatoes. Needs improvement. Price wise, its ~$15 a pizza. I guess thats pretty average. Ill definitely eat there again to satisfy my pizza craving! -

Expensive but very good and they now take credit cards -

Not as cozy as its downtown daddy, this one takes credit cards, so you can enjoy the best pizza in the city and not have to run to the ATM while digesting your food. -

The food was absolutely amazing but honestly the service was terrible for us. They should assign one server to one table and not have multiple servers. -
