After catching a show at Carnegie Hall across the street, I decided to stop in at Redeye Grill for a bite to eat, and it was an incredible experience!I had sushi and wine, both of which were absolutely amazing. The sushi was fresh and expertly prepared, and the wine selection perfectly complemented the meal. The restaurants ambiance was equally impressive. It provided a warm and inviting atmosphere that was perfect for unwinding after an evening at the theater.Overall, Redeye Grill exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great dining experience in the area. Five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We were just walking by and decided to check out the restaurant for brunch. It was a Sunday around 1pm, it wasn’t too busy. Our server greeted us, he was super friendly! Our food was great, portions were perfect, we wanted to order the colossal shrimps but the server did warn us it will be too much food, so we decided to try the buttermilk onion rings, they were pretty good. The place looks big, definitely worth giving it a try.

Atmosphere was the best! Elevated just a little, overlooking the city streets with low lights! Very romantic & pleasant. Obviously we had outdoor seating. Our food was great as well. Limp crab cake and grilled shrimp 🍤 for me, my husband had a burger. Live music Thursday thru Saturday.

From the minute we arrived and Richard the Maitre d said, “How may I be of service?” he set the tone for what would be an excellent dining experience. Richard took such great care (he said we looked like we were still glowing from Valentine’s Day, he sent flutes of champagne over to our table, he called us by name and checked on is throughout). The entire team - Michael, Derek, and especially Maya took top tier service seriously and made our evening just beautiful. Thank you all.We were in the city for a concert at Carnegie Hall and my hubby made reservations at Redeye because it was across the street. Little did we know it would be the highlight of an evening topped only by Gregory Porter in concert. The ambiance, lighting, our cozy booth with cushions, the live music with piano accompaniment all contributed to the vibe. We felt like the Rat Pack could walk in at any minute (or John Wick at The NY Continental!!)Our food and cocktails were delectable. A diverse menu with lots of variety, but we went old school: a scrumptious Caesar with a delicious dressing, giant croutons and white anchovies, black truffle mashed potatoes, grilled Bronzino, brick oven chicken, sautéed spinach and a rich blackout chocolate cake. The bartender also showed up and showed out: our Old Fashion, specialty Manhattan, and gin Gimlet were delicious. Yes, yes, yes 👏🏾This truly was a fantastic experience. We had a 2-hour dining experience and we didn’t want to leave.

Thanksgiving dinner at Red Eye Grill in Midtown was absolutely phenomenal! Every dish was packed with flavor, from the perfectly seasoned entrees and sides to the indulgent desserts. The atmosphere was lively and festive (they even had a live pianist), and the service was flawless. Alton was such a great server we can’t wait to see him again. It was an unforgettable dining experience—truly one of the best meals we’ve had in NYC. 10/10 we will be back!!

Went here randomly for a drink after thanksgiving dinner, just saw how cute it looked from the outside and decided to try our luck. The place is amazing! Every single one of the staff are so friendly and warm, we felt so welcomed, and the wines and drinks were terrific. The live male musician had an incredible voice, the classic interior is really beautiful, and all of the artwork terrific. Not to mention how festive and atmospheric it felt during Xmas time, I enjoyed this place so much! Husband ordered onion rings as bar snacks and they were huge and cooked with rosemary, really unique. We will absolutely come back for dinner another time, very excited to try their food! Happy thanksgiving to all the staff at Redeye, you are doing a wonderful job 💐

Good morning.Sunday evening 31 March 2024 (it would be Easter evening 🐣) I came to dine at this luxury restaurant and I must say that the food is of the highest quality, the service is friendly and bearable and the final price is (for my expectations) very expensive!!I highly recommend this place to everyone…. it is also located in the Manhattan area near Central Park!

I want to start out by saying that the maître D is an absolute professional, and was a breath of fresh air in this city. I was totally blown away with his professionalism and his greetings as we enter the restaurant. The restaurant is slightly eclectic inside with some hilarious paintings over the wall. A very nice full bar in the middle, and while seating is relatively close together, it is a very open and well lit area. Our waitress was Karina and we enjoyed her service through the entire evening. We came in for happy hour. I got the old fashion which was excellent. My wife got the cosmopolitan as well as a sunrise spritz drink. Love them all. When we passed this restaurant four days ago, we saw “Home of the dancing shrimp” on the wall and laughed out loud. So we had to order it. I will say it was the weakest item on the menu that we ordered that day while it is cool to look at, it really wasn’t that fantastic. The sauces were all very good. The sushi burger was absolutely beautiful to look at, and the quality of the tuna is the best that I have had in several years. It was melted in your mouth good. Everything was fresh and would absolutely order it again. My wife got the Cobb salad with a side order of steak to put on the salad salad and everything was excellent. Super fresh ingredients all around. We took cheesecake to go and ate it in our hotel room and I enjoyed it a great deal. My wife gave it an average score.

We really enjoyed the Red Eye experience.. Please ask for the dancing shrimp..

  • Review 10 (2023-01-17 - Rating: 5)

We went the non-traditional Thanksgiving route and had dinner here. It’s a great spot with lots of seating and live music every Thursday through Saturday. Make sure you get something with lobster in it and order the famous dancing shrimp app. I was craving sushi and went with the sushi burger. I also split a couple rolls with the table and everything was fantastic. They also make a fabulous espresso martini.

  • Review 11 (2024-12-08 - Rating: 5)

The steak was superior, the other food was amazing, the staff was courteous, the ambiance was nice, and there was actually enough space to stretch! No constantly getting bumped into! The price was also reasonable! Do it!

  • Review 12 (2023-04-07 - Rating: 5)

Had lunch here before heading back to Kennedy on our last day in NYC and couldnt have been happier. Its situated right across from Carnage Hall and the inside decor was beautiful. The service was friendly and this place will be forever remembered as the best lobster Mac and cheese Ive ever had!

  • Review 13 (2024-10-26 - Rating: 5)

We had a fantastic time here last night, they managed to sit us down before our booking, and then had brilliant service. Atmosphere was buzzing and great music from the piano singer. My NYC strip steak was so tender and the Textbook Napa wine beautiful.

  • Review 14 (2023-06-05 - Rating: 4)

Stopped in for lunch and had the three course pre-fixe for $39.We both started with the mix lettuce salad. Really nice flavors...dijon vinaigrette with orange and the bread crumbs. Light and very flavorful. No sushi this day so my wife had the vegetarian teriyaki bowl which was basically the non salmon version of the salmon teriyaki bowl (which is what I had). Both were fine but definitely a bit of a bummer to not have the sushi option. Good flavors but felt kinda like a tourist meal. Both had chocolate blackout cake for dessert. Again good but didnt quite hit right.Service was excellent and the patio was nice.

During my vacation in NYC, I visited this place and had a wonderful experience. The waiter was incredibly helpful and friendly, assisting me in selecting my dish. I chose the black cod, and it was absolutely delicious—I can’t forget the taste! I also loved the atmosphere there.

My husband and I came to NYC for NYE for our honeymoon and made a reservation for the Redeye NYE party. It was incredible. We were an hour early because we thought it would take longer to get there but Richard, the gentleman who greeted us, was so kind and sat us right away. Our waiter was very friendly and we had an great time. The food was perfectly cooked and the band was fun. Our waited was very busy towards the end of the evening so the GM Richard ended up bringing us our receipt. We went outside at 11:40 and at midnight got to see the ball drop with a great view. They also supplied us with hats and noise makers which was a nice surprise!

I was on my way to the Carnegie Hall but was early. Went to the Grill for a drink and ended up eating as it was tempting. Do not regret it and I hope to go back soon!

  • Review 20 (2024-07-26 - Rating: 5)

Went here on my first day visiting New York this summer. The location of the restaurant is excellent, very close to Central Park and Times Square. You have to reserve in advance for a table, but its worth it. The menu is diverse and the food options are fantastic. We ordered multiple dishes and everything tasted delicious. The service was amazing. Overall, it was a great experience.

  • Review 21 (2024-12-05 - Rating: 5)

Very large American bistro and seafood restaurant. Right on the corner of 56 and 7 avenue. Stopped in for lunch and had a great $39 prixe fix menu. I got the Caesar salad, blackened mahi-mahi and cheesecake. Everything was terrific, including the service. Perfect place for a Leisurely sit down lunch with a little bit of classy atmosphere.

  • Review 22 (2023-04-21 - Rating: 5)

The Redeye is extra special, if you want to go a step above this is my recommendation. See Ariel at the bar(the best around) get that perfect mix! Nicely decorated, great lunch specials too. Oh dont forget to finish up with their classic Banana Cream Pie... Delish!

  • Review 23 (2024-01-08 - Rating: 5)

Christmas Eve 2023 — we actually had a reservation at another restaurant and we walked from the Renaissance Hotel where we were staying to our reservation and walked by the sign that said “home of the dancing shrimp”. Boyfriend was not too keen on having Italian that night so we decided to see if we could be accommodated knowing 1) it was Christmas Eve and 2) we obviously did not have a reservation. One of the best dining decisions ever.Lydia (I hope I spelled this right), Richard, Darren and Moises were top-notch at customer service!Richard, the host, promised “you would like this better” and he was absolutely right! Lydia immediately offered to take our coats, and we were seated by the window.Ambience — just perfect for a Christmas Eve dinner. We had the teriyaki salmon which was a “salad” on their menu but it was divine! Rainbow roll and shrimp cocktail — super fresh! We were in dessert heaven with the cheesecake but they graciously offered proseco, ice cream and cookie on the house! I do not have a sweet tooth so I know it’s good when I finish the dessert! Most of all, Moises was beyond amazing! Impeccable service and just really wonderful and respectful. He was working for a colleague which was really nice to hear. We can totally tell he LOVED what he was doing and we hope he gets to read this.Darren came out with fresh-out-of-the-oven cookies (and kids at the table next to us got cotton candy!). It was so good!Sometimes, you stumble upon a treasure along the road — this one indeed was one of those moments. Thank you for making our Christmas Eve dinner truly memorable!

  • Review 24 (2024-08-06 - Rating: 5)

The Chilean sea bass was perfectly cooked and tasty! The waiter, who is from Chile highly recommended it and he didnt fail us.The dining room was pleasant and vibrant. We were walking distance from the hotel and there are many choices but I will be back the next time Im in the theater district.

  • Review 25 (2024-09-07 - Rating: 4)

Quite a decent place, but the place seemed somewhat more formal than the name and description on the website would suggest, in the eyes of employees dressed in suits (some of them, not that there is anything wrong with that). But the food, the service and the beer were nothing to complain about. So just try this place out.

  • Review 26 (2023-06-19 - Rating: 5)

We were celebrating a “Sweet 16” birthday. The atmosphere was great, the food delicious and the service superb! All of the staff were so warm and inviting. The Lobster Mac n Cheese was amazing!!! We had a wonderful time celebrating in NYC. We will definitely visit again.

  • Review 28 (2024-12-15 - Rating: 4)

Lively restaurant in midtown with good service. Danny was our server, he seemed disconnected. He wasn’t rude, just wanted very personable. Assuming he may have been overwhelmed that Friday night, his manager Eric came over to help us choose a dish and take our order. Eric was energetic and helpful. He got us situated & came back to check on us a few times. Thanks Eric! I had the crab cake and grillled shrimp dish, this was their most popular menu item. I’d give it a 7/10. The pornstar martini stole the show. The passionfruit, aroma & flavor of the drink was delicious ! Definitely recommend! For appetizers we had the shrimp & lettuce bowls and the guacamole. The guacamole came with kettle cooked chips instead of tortillas, I would have preferred tortillas but the guacamole itself was really good. The shrimp & lettuce I’d give an 8/10. For desert we had the chocolate cake, it was super rich, cold, firm, and thick. The taste was fine but the texture and density wasn’t my favorite. Danny recommend the banana cream desert, I’d try that next time instead . Ladies room was clean and pleasant. Tables are placed a little tight & close to each other. Several art structures throughout the restaurant. They have live music a few days out of the week. That’s another thing I liked about this restaurant is that it was not too loud. It was pretty easy to enjoy a conversation with the person you’re sitting next to.

  • Review 31 (2024-09-02 - Rating: 5)

Lovely establishment. Staff were all very inviting, kind, and attentive. Food was excellent and the ambiance was really nice on the outdoor patio. There was live music inside while we were there and they projected it outside using speakers, which I thought was a great touch. Will definitely return!

My wife and I visited this great restaurant midday in sneakers and summer clothing and had a blast! Initially, I felt we were under-dressed considering the pictures on their website so I was prepared to be turned-away but the host was very classy about his inquiry and seated us, our waitress was authentically polite and the food was DAMN GOOD!!!! I had the Chilean Sea bass that was cooked with love and my wife had several Cosmos that was made with love!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant!

Enjoyed a night at the Redeye Grill, just across from The Manhattan Club where we were staying. Piano music was very nice for dinner. We had the sea bass, and my husband had the prime rib. Average meal price is about $40 per person without drinks or extras. Service was outstanding. We walked in and did not have to wait. If you do, when you arrive look to the right and the piano bar, a nice place to chat a have a glass of wine while you wait. It was a Sunday night around 6pm, and there was a good amount of seating remaining. Booths are a premium. Saved for larger groups. We ate at one of the tables for 2 and my husband is 66, so it was a little tight. The meal was excellent, but the service was above par.

  • Review 35 (2024-10-28 - Rating: 5)

EXCELLENT meal! Perfect portion Filet, perfectly cooked. Substituted regular mashed potatoes instead of fries, they were to die for! Wedge salad was out of this world. Perfect bacon, not too crispy or hard, not too big. Chunky and creamy blue cheese with a healthy portion of chunky.Atmosphere A+ with window seating availableLocation right next to Carnegie Hall A+Ive eaten here before, but today was a step up in quality and experience.

  • Review 36 (2024-10-28 - Rating: 5)

Great for a post show bite or drink after visiting Carnegie Hall. I didn’t eat a meal here but I had onion rings and a glass of wine & enjoyed both. This spot is very vibey and is great for dinner with the girls or even date night. Really cute and I’ll be back again to try out the dinner options.

Wonderful from the time we entered until the time we exited. We stopped in on a Saturday for lunch and discovered that they also had a brunch menu. We took advantage of the “bottomless” Bellini’s and had appetizers. Our waiter was soo kind and very helpful.

11/24/2022We celebrated Thanksgiving with Redeye today. The prefix menu was perfect for most of us and for the couple that wanted something else, that ordered off the regular menu. The food was very good and the ambiance was classy but not snobby. Very enjoyable. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

  • Review 50 (2020-01-23 - Rating: 5)

If your out in uptown and want to go for a good filling dinner for a reasonable price than this is the place. We went for the steak and frites and my father in law for the famous dancing shrimp. The wine was perfect and the possibility to order a 3ounce glass made good sense. The decor is stunning and you get the feeling that this place existed there since the 1920s especially the statues are a piece of work. The cocktails where really good and we left more than satisfied and with a new place to recommend to our friends.

  • Review 51 (2019-08-12 - Rating: 5)

While staying at Park Central Hotel, we were looking for a dine in breakfast option and thought wed give Redeye a try. It was the first of many visits. On each occasion we were greeted by a friendly and attentive team who seated us promptly and provided iced water while we considered the menu. The Redeye breakfast options were incredibly appetising. My husband swears that the Tony Bennett French toast with chocolate chips was the best breakfast hed eaten in NYC.Upon eating the buttermilk pancakes on the first day, my daughter ordered them each morning thereafter. My crab cake eggs benedict was perfection. Served on a flaky, buttery croissant, the perfectly seasoned, sweet meat of the crab cake was enhanced by a smooth, hollandaise and two poached eggs. Were planning our return to NYC and well definitely make sure we come back to Redeye Grill.

Omg this place was amazing??? I inhaled so much sushi and spaghetti, and the wait staff were so sweet and friendly. They gave us fresh baked cookies??? Just randomly??? Delicious and amazing

  • Review 56 (2017-01-14 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely loved this place. The decor is basically a classic American brasserie with heavy styling influence from what could be 1920s NYC. The menu is also standard American with a bit of Asian fusion here and there. When we arrived, it was peak dining time so it was busy but not so much that it was overly loud. The food menu is a feast for the eyes and it was difficult to choose amongst entrées. As one of our appetizers, we ordered this great brussel sprouts dish that was seasoned with miso and honey. Large portion, but we all cleaned the plate. The entrées are evenly divided between grilled fish and steak dishes, but as usual I opted for seafood. Now, I am not exaggerating here when I say that the salmon I ordered is quite possibly the best cooked salmon I have ever had. The plating was also charming. If youre into wine, there is no shortage of it here. Youre bound to find something for your taste. If youre more into cocktails, the menu they have is two full pages of mixology-inspired drinks. I tried two of them and they were great. Not a large beer selection, but even if they did its not the type of beverage you want in this setting anyway, in my opinion. To wrap up, I ordered a port wine the waiter suggested that paired well with the banana cream pie I also had. Not to differ with the rest of the food had, it was also delicious.I would recommend Redeye Grill for a special occasion, as it is quite expensive...But it is all quite worth the money as the food, drinks, and ambiance are stellar. We will definitely return in the future.

Such a beautiful place and the service was amazing! The only reason food got 4 stars is because we had two picky eaters and they struggled a bit with finding an option but everything we got was amazing! I was especially impressed with the extra care they took to make us feel welcome-the cotton candy and sparkling wine was such a great touch!! !I would absolutely come back again-with a mature crowd ❤️

Certified munch. Another solid meal deal in NY.Starter was alright nothing too much to shout about, sauce masked the taste of calamari a bit.Steak was beauts, was so hungry after work I inhaled it.Chocolate cake was a nice feature, very rich, shared it with the old Doris next to me.Had some dece Whiskys too and some live entertainment - Geez playing piano - all about those soothing tones whilst digesting my evening meal

  • Review 60 (2024-07-01 - Rating: 5)

We’ve walked by this place numerous times and decided to stop in this time. We had a shrimp cocktail (decided against the “dancing shrimp” since the server told us they had the heads on them, loaf of bread, lobster mac & cheese and French dip sandwich with au jus. We were pleasantly surprised with how good the food was. The lobster Mac & cheese included meat from the entire lobster. Out of all of the food, that was the best! The shrimp cocktail is much bigger per piece than it shows in the photo, but it is pricey ($7/shrimp)

I had an amazing time here. The host, our waiter, the entire staff, and the live musican were just *chef’s kiss*. Everyone worked together so well , communicated effectively, and we’re so attentive! I was able to get a last minute Birthday dinner reservation on a Saturday night and the service from the beginning to end were 5 STARS! My friends and I still talk about the service. We will definitely be back! Thank you for making my special day even more special!

The only reason I gave 4 stars for food, was because my shrimp were overcooked. Otherwise, it was delicious. Live music to make the experience so much better.

My wife and I drove in to the City from MA this morning with our friend for an early morning appointment. After finishing that up we were looking for some food, focusing on something quick so we could get started on our 4 hour return trip. While walking along 7th Avenue, our friend was drawn to the dancing shrimp and the 888 building address for the Redeye Grill. After a quick look at the menu and seeing the beautiful inside decor/setup, we decided our return trip would have to wait.It was just after 11 AM and they were just starting to get outdoor tables set up. An incredibly friendly staff member told us they opened at noon but welcomed us to get comfortable at one of the outdoor tables. At 11:45, a manager came out and invited us in. He set us up in a corner table with an incredible view both inside and out and gave us the history on the restaurant. What transpired next was one of the most incredible dining experiences we have had from start to finish. We enjoyed prompt, professional service and incredible food ranging from focaccia garlic bread to teriyaki veggie bowls to Chilean sea bass to garlic truffle mashed and cashew Brussel sprouts sides finished with two separate offerings by the chef staff and manager of homemade mini chocolate chip cookies that we plucked fresh from the oven trays they were baked on.The entire experience was remarkable, made possible by the incredible efforts of every single person we encountered at this absolute gem. BRAVO Redeye Grill, BRAVO. See you again soon!

Go for happy hour. Felix, the bartender is friendly, creative and will craft your drinks perfectly. Order a couple of their fun bar bites. Portions are good to share for 2. Although I didnt order them, my brother told me they are definitely known for their dancing shrimp.

Fantastic staff, lots of little touches to make the place memorable (not going to name them to spoil it for you).NY Strip was a little less than my expectation, but worth another try. Redeye does a great job of embracing the feel and vibe of NYC. Live music was a bonus

My wife and I were looking for a location to celebrate our son’s 20th birthday. The Redeye Grill surpassed our expectations. The venue was magnificent. The various pillars of New York City art was awe inspiring , the piano bar with live entertainment was the icing on the cake. The venue was immaculate. We were immediately transformed to what the family agreed was the roaring 20s with the modern NYC twist perfect for celebrating our son’s 20th birthday. Our birthday party consisted of about 14 people. The table was already set up when we arrived 15 minutes early we were greeted with open arms as if we knew each other. They greeted and treated us like family!!! The staff was beyond attentive. They understood the menu and our purpose for being there. We brought in our own cake to celebrate our son‘s birthday And a huge chunk of the restaurant staff brought the cake out with sparkling lights and beautiful voices to sing happy birthday to our son I am looking forward to going back, and of course the tray of chocolate chip cookie deliciousness was a sweet, unexpected treat. if there is one thing that I would add, would be a mini kids menu as one of our guest was a two-year-old and the pallet of a child is simple/ plain ❤️🙏🏼🎂🍪🍪

Its one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Its been consistently good for decades.

  • Review 81 (2023-11-09 - Rating: 5)

Food was extremely good!! Onion rings - would order again….and again!! French dip with homemade horseradish was about as good as I’ve had in a long time. The horseradish was spicy but not too spicy - im confident, if you like horseradish, you will tolerate the level of spice. Service was very good and friendly. The place was nearly empty when we went I would’ve expected just slightly more attentiveness but it was very good nonetheless. I think they were just giving my wife and I space so I dont really see this as a huge negative.

  • Review 82 (2024-01-10 - Rating: 4)

It could be on the expensive side, but hey its NYC. An old style place that straddles the line between traditional and upscale New American. What they do, they do well and itll feel like money well spent. I have never had a bad meal there and its never too loud. Try the banana cream pie--I cant wait to try it again!

First restaurant we ate at for our trip and it was great!

  • Review 84 (2024-01-24 - Rating: 5)

The place was amazing! We flew into JFK and were staying down the street at the Thompson (part of the Hyatt) and walk into the Redeye Grill for drinks which were amazing! Our family wanted to have dinner and we ask the manager on duty if they would entertain 6 of us! They not only setup a great table but staff went out of way to take care of us. The food, drinks, environment was absolutely ridiculously good! Did I mentioned the place was amazing!

  • Review 85 (2023-04-25 - Rating: 5)

Wow. Such a wonderful place. The service was beyond expectations. One of our party is allergic to seafood and the staff was very careful to tell us what foods this person should not eat. So considerate and also ready to assist if we needed anything. The food was great! I ordered a Cobb salad, which was dressed and tossed at the table--I loved that because it made the salad easier to eat. Really good. The atmosphere is unique and probably not for kids, but whimsical and entertaining. Looking forward to going there again!

We were looking for a treat on our last night in New York and having passed earlier in the week thought we would give this restaurant a try and I was glad we did. We booked a reservation online which was a quick and easy process. For dinner we all had steaks which were cooked exactly to our taste and amongst the best I have had. Service was good and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, just be careful what you order on the wine list as it can get quite expensive!

  • Review 87 (2023-07-04 - Rating: 5)

Fabulous service, swanky atmosphere, tasty food! The best of the best! I came here a few months ago on a Sunday for bottomless brunch. Every staff member was welcoming and cheery from the moment you enter. Our waitress was polite, friendly and helpful! She was an absolute Angel! I forgot her name but I remember she was from San Fran. Breakfast plates were divine as well were the mimosas! Art was beautiful too and I love the renaissance vibe. Love it here and would definitely come back if I’m in the Central Park area.

The lobster Mac and cheese comes out with quite the presentation. Atmosphere was vibrant and a nice experience. Highly recommend this place.

  • Review 99 (2023-09-04 - Rating: 5)

This was spectacular. To begin the atmosphere was delightful. They had live music playing with bold dark woods all around. Not to mention our hotel is catered from here which is why we new the food would be good. Our waiter, I didn’t catch his name but he had a fantastic moustache, was amazing. He kept joking around with us and created an amazing experience for all of us. We all stuck to getting sushi for the most part and it was delightful to say the least. After dinner was completed they brought out complimentary cotton candy and chocolate cookies. And when I say they brought out cotton candy they brought a tower of cotton candy around 2 feet tall. It was crazy. Would definitely recommend

We came to Redeye Grill as it was close to our hotel. Wed just arrived in NYC and wanted a drink and a light meal. This place was perfect for us. It had interesting decor, to say the least. But, it was comfortable and enjoyable. The drinks were big (and strong) which we appreciated after a long day flying. We chose to eat some of the famous coconut shrimp and a sushi roll. The shrimp were quite good, though I thought they were overpriced. The sushi was good. What made the night special was our server, Angelina. She took such good care of us. Even though they were closing and we were the last people in the restaurant, she never made us feel rushed.

This is a great place but the wait staff seem poorly organized. Theyre trying hard and dashing about but everyone waits on you and mistakes result. This time, I received the wrong dessert and had a long wait for my bill. The bill that finally came was incorrect. It was for a complete dinner but my order was only for a drink and dessert. Thus more waiting for the correct bill. This is my second visit where Ive noticed this. Ive been in the piano area, which I love.

Beautiful, expansive room in a prime Midtown location just below Central Park, Redeye Grill offers good food at $$ prices. (Most places in the area are $$$, with the exception of food carts and the 99 cents a slice pizza right down the street!) It features live piano music and the food has a seafood focus. The wine list leans a little on the expensive side but the service was impeccable. Good but not great.

  • Review 120 (2022-08-30 - Rating: 5)

We found this restaurant in 2019 and since 2021 every time we are in NYC we have to stop by for dinner and listen to the music that they have, which is lovely on Friday and Saturday. I can only say is that the food and service will never disappoint you and is always getting better. I cannot miss to comment on their chocolate chip cookies that I told them they should market it as Gourmet cookies because it is soft, chewy, and not as sweet as the others you find in bakeries.

If you want a truly great dining experience, please dine at the RedEye Grill. A truly magnificent restaurant with a palatial dining room featuring amazing artwork and sculptures. The bar is great too and features live music with piano accompaniment on most nights. Craft cocktails are amazing. The wait staff is PROFESSIONAL with a friendly and welcoming personality that extends from the manager who greets you at the door, to the hostess who brings you to your table. Water glasses are never empty. Used dishes are removed promptly, and the wait staff is knowledgable and courteous. Anna was out server last weekend and was funny and quick to respond to any requests. She new the menu inside and out was very charming. The food is amazing with a varied menu that includes steaks, seafood, and sushi. Try their signature lobster mac and cheese dish which is enough for two people. And just when you think it couldnt get any better, the manager actually comes around with a huge tray of warm chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven for everyone to sample. A true dining delight. Redeye Grill is our favorite NYC restaurant. I am confident if you try it, it will be yours also. Bon appetit :)Scott and ShannonNew Jersey

We shared their freshly made guacamole with house made chips, simple ingredients and delicious. They claim to have the best garlic bread and I believe it after tasting theirs. Beautiful balance of butter and garlic, good portion for 2 people. Wish I lived closer to taste the rest of their menu.

Three of us stopped by for a late dinner after a show at Carnegie Hall. Service was excellent, food was delicious, and ambiance was nice. This was a Saturday evening and they had live music at the bar area. My one qualm was that the portions were a bit on the small side. They definitely make up for it in taste. It really was a nice evening out. Very happy we chose this restaurant.

I’m from Knoxville, Tennessee, and I had dinner here a few nights ago. I had the steak along the spinach and New York cheese cake and I must say that it was some of the best food I’ve ever had. But what made this dinner outstanding was the service that I received. The waiter that I had was Christian Ramos. A straight up good dude with a personality that seemed a lot to me like that of the people of western North Carolina. I run a vending business through that area (including in Asheville where there has been catastrophic flooding) and Christian seemed very similar to those folks that I’ve gotten to know so well. Friendly and humble are 2 words that I would use to describe those people, which was certainly not something that I was expecting to find in York City (LOL.) But I guess that’s my own now shattered stereotype. To upper management of the Red Eye Grill, please acknowledge the outstanding service that Christian provides to your team. I have had excellent food in a whole lot of places, but it’s only because of good people like Christian that make me remember having a good time at your restaurant and tell others about it.Thank you.

So nice to see some of the same staff, it is such a reassuring feeling welcoming you back as well as remembering your particular drink and how you like it. We really enjoyed this place. The menu had plenty selections, but not too many and enough variety for everyone in our party to pick from. The food was delicious and service was great. We will definitely come back here.

My wife had taken clients here before, but this was my first experience at the grill. I was very impressed! We started with the fried rock shrimp which was cooked perfectly. They were not greasy or swimming in oil, but light and airy. For entrees my wife had the Black Miso Cod and I had the halibut. Both were cooked perfectly and melted like butter in the mouth. We finished the evening with their vegan mint chocolate chip ice cream (I am lactose intolerant) and it was great.

Walked in about 5 or so, and the staff had seating available. Right next to the piano! What a win!Fish tacos were fantastic. The garlic bread was delicious, some of the nicest bread of any type that Ive had in the USA.The sushi burger, the signature dish, is absolutely delectable! However, maybe a little note that it is quite small and doesnt suite as a main meal, potentially a specialist meal on its own.Cheese burger, well presented, and great beef. The pineapple cocktail was yummo! As well as the New York made Hard Cider. The pianist/singer was brilliant, his choice of music and skill as a pianist made the experience even better.I highly recommend this place, it is medium range in pricing, unique location and the inside is warm, cosy and inviting.

Thank you for the wonderful food! We ordered the California rolls, scallop skillet and the steak. So much flavour with every bite. Great value for the money in Manhattan. Highly recommend!

I stopped by with a friend for a few drinks - wine was great and my friend raved about the cocktails (high praise from us both, being quite picky about our selections). The staff was friendly, efficient, and provided a lovely atmosphere. I am definitely coming back for a proper dinner!(The entrees I saw around the room looked somewhere between enticing and mouth-watering.)

Pampered us on our 52nd wedding anniversary. The maitre d remembered us from celebrating our 51st there last year and sent over champagne 🍾. Well be back for our 53rd next year

Beautiful food and service! Lovely atmosphere with live entertainment. This restaurant was situated near our hotel and offered complimentary prosecco on arrival. The food was fantastic, large portions, and excellent value for money. The waiters and house staff were really friendly and couldnt do enough for us, I would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of visiting this restaurant.

Havent been here in years and the food is still as good as I remember. Place was busy, but we were seated right away. Service was really good. My sister and I had the bottomless bubbly and the waiter was there with a refill without being asked. We had the ahi tuna poke, lobster roll and the crab & avocado salad and each one was delicious. Highly recommend.

Really good restaurant nearly Carnegie hall. They had live music there which creates a brilliant atmosphere. It is a slightly upscale place and the prices reflect that, and has a broad menu.If you have the offer of bread - have the pretzel bread it was fabulous. The meals were good and fresh, I had the salmon poke salad and would recommend it. Then with the deserts we had were generous portions and couldnt finish them all.Would go again.

888 Cafe/Redeye Grill..... AMAZINGGGGG! the best double cheese burger and salt/rosemary skin on fries were the best we have had in a long time. The staff were VERY tentative and made you feel like nothing was too much trouble. Great price and highly recommended. Really appreciate good food and service, not often you get both these days.

Awesome huge restaurant with very nice waiters! Unfortunately the food was only okay and not worth the price range

Great place. Loved the casual and eclectic atmosphere. The live piano music was a great addition to our dinner.. Food and drinks were good as expected. Might be a bit on the pricey side for some.

The best thing Red Eye finally added was a vegetarian section to their menu that wasnt available few years ago that can be modified to be vegan. Their customer service is always friendly and knowledgeable on thier menu items. Elegant ambiance restaurant design.
