    Food was incredible! Atmosphere really stunning, sommelier helped me choose a great wine, and the homemade gelato was straight out of Italy, so delicious. Only thing off was that the prices on our bill didn’t match the menu… but I would definitely recommend this place nonetheless.

    Update... So we returned after the incident from about five years ago below. The owner wasnt there today, but the long-time head waiter, who is fantastic, and the real reason why this restaurant still operates took great care of us today. The food was excellent as well. Im going to move my rating up from one star to four stars based on this recent visit...I have been going to San Pietro for years and have recommended it many times to friends and colleagues, but from my previous experience, it will be the last time that I ever visit the place. I had taken a client out to lunch who happens to be over 90 years old and hard of hearing. He inadvertently ordered the wrong main course and asked for it to be changed. The owner ran to our table, yelled, and threw a fit over the request. In all of my years entertaining, I had never seen anything so unprofessional, especially from a place supposedly this high-end.It was horrifying, to say the least, and I could tell that the waiter (who is great, btw) was incredibly embarrassed. As I was leaving the restaurant I walked over to the owner and let him know that I didnt appreciate his treatment of my elderly client and his response to me was this is my house, get out. With an attitude and treatment of customers like that, it wont be his house much longer. Needless to say, I wont be recommending or returning to San Pietro ever again.

    Such a sweet, small restaurant with fabulous service. The food was wonderful. Highly recommend the zucchini flower appetizer! Would definitely come here again. Well worth the price!

    As soon as my partner and I walked in for our special date night dinner, we were welcomed warmly by Manol who should be promoted or receive a raise for such wonderful service. The whole meal felt so personal and as if we were being spoiled.There is such attention to detail with the bread and olives and they even put butter on ice at the beginning. Other very attentive staff ready to take care of you throughout the whole meal.Very old fashioned Italian and highly highly authentic!!! Would absolutely recommend and would love to keep them in business! Thank you so much for truly completing our night and for making us feel at home away from home.

    Take a step back in time! The service here is what truly separates the spot from other restaurants! You are greeted like an old family friend and given the specials by your uncle! It was great! The food was inspired by rustic classic Italian fare and did not skip a beat!

    If you want an fabulous, authentic Italian experience, this is your place. The staff, the head waiter, the servers and even the bus boys were fantastic. I never press a glad of wine or water. The food was exquisite. The fish and veal specials were outstanding. We had a party of 14 and nobody wanted for anything. There were also smaller, romantic tables. The prices were in line with a fine dining experience. If you want a nice experience woke in NYC, this is a great option.

    Very lovely place, the food was amazing ! No big sign outside so its across from a parking garage..Also they did seem a bit stern in regards to having a reservation (and we did) which I found a little odd as it was a bit late and the place was mostly empty ..so not so warm and friendly..and pricey..but would definitely go again !

    Classic Italian restaurant experience. I like the mature waiters willing to say let me just bring you our best wine pairing for your dinner. And its an experience just to listen to the 16 specials detailed then summarized in reverse order. We had lamb, pasta, and branzino. All well prepared. Pasta was fresh made and a highlight. Branzino is a house speciality and also exceptional. Lamb was tasty, if one minor complaint it would be that we ordered medium rare and the lamb was well done. That said, overall a delightful experience Id recommend to anyone.

    Ill be honest. With the bad reviews we were scared to go. Actually we almost cancelled and went elsewhere. But my friend assured us it would be awesome. And it was! It exceeded our expectations. They treated us like family and everyone else that was dining like family. So gracious, and inviting. It was like eating in their homes. The food was out of this world. The best we have eaten in NYC so far by a long margin. I would recommend this place to everyone. And as a matter a fact if you dont go youre missing out. I can only assume the bad reviews are from competitors in the area. Not one thing in any of the bad reviews was true what so ever. This is the only place in the last 4 days we have eaten at that we would actually return to. If I could give them 6 stars I would have!

    Great food, salad salty but still delicious. Service was off their game, got wrong order (which was corrected) and waited 20 minutes for menus. They were clearly short staffed, but still very nice and attentive.Lunch entree was awesome - portion more than enough.One regret, can’t blame San Pietro for, was it was super loud. Good for celebratory meal, not so much for a getting to know you meal where I had to strain to hear my tables words.Very expensive. I’d go back in heartbeat so long as I can expense lunch!

    Long overdue review. Unbelievable experience. I dont normally take the time to post restaurant reviews but I had to for this one. I took a lot into account. Cleanliness, decor, ambiance, staff and of course...the food. Ive been to Italy once and I can honestly say the feeling I got walking in there simulated that experience like no other restaurant Ive been to. You can tell the owner was meticulous about creating an experience and not just a place to dine. The staff was unbelievably friendly and was very attentive. It was beyond professional...it was personal. They sincerely wanted to ensure I was enjoying myself and that I was pleased. The service was quick and the food was spectacular. The owner came down and spoke to us as well. You could see the passion and love he has for creating such a magnificent experience. I am looking forward to visiting as soon as this quarantine is over.

    In spite in working in Midtown for 20 years, I was unaware of San Pietro. We happened in last night, and were taken back in time to when pride, passion and art characterized fine dining. There are many wonderful places in NYC, some sadly have closed, but San Pietro has soared to be one my new favorites. Thank you an amazing meal, more so tremendous warmth and hospitality. The Martina was smooth, the split salmon / tuna carpaccio was divine!

    Was in NYC for business and had an amazing dinner with 6 of my colleagues at San Pietro. The food was wonderful but the dining experience was a big part of the event. I highly recommend you give it a try. Expensive but well worth it. Get a reservation even during the week as this place is popular with the financial folks. And go with the recommendations your waiter will make. You will not be disappointed in anything.

    I heard about San Pietro while watching Fox Business when they were on-site in the restaurant interviewing Gerardo, one of the owners. It so happened that I was going to be in NYC the next day on a visit, and at the time I was unsure on where to make reservations for dinner.After hearing San Pietros story I knew this was the place I would give my business to and I was very happy with the decision. The entire experience was A-1 prime quality and I will return next time I am in Manhattan.

    What fantastic consideration, products and service! We inadvertently walked into this restaurant as tourists, (and dressed as such!), at the end of a Monday lunch service, but were still welcomed in and treated like family. Fantastic wine selection. We were treated to a special sample of the Broccoli Rabe, which is unbelievable. Highly recommended establishment

    The food and service were excellent, just a warning about the dishes that are not on the menu, I ordered a dish with truffle and it cost 175.00 dollars, it was not on the menu and the very attentive waiter warned me that it was more expensive, but I didnt imagine it would be 3x the price of other dishes, and although it was my mistake for not asking, regardless of that I thought it was very expensive, I wouldnt have ordered it if I had known as the flavor didnt make up for it. My husbands seafood dish was excellent. I would go back but with reservations.
