The best babaganoush I’ve ever had and overall delicious food, great ambiance. We also tried the veggie cigars which were delicious, and the fluffy chips which are unlike anything I’ve ever tried before and loved them! They have cute pieces by artisans, I bought a cute card and noticed they had beautiful makeup pouches and home decor.Great place to come hang out with friends, enjoy the patio, or stay in. Love working from here and will certainly be back every time I’m in the city. -

Amazing location. Upstairs looks like a cafe and a gift shop, and the downstairs has a bar where they play live music. The food was INCREDIBLE. -
Review 3 (2023-03-06 - Rating: 4)
Great place and good Israeli menu. The Shakshuka was surprisingly good and served hot. The Malawach was also pretty tasty and served with tahini and tomato sauce (needed more for this size). The falafel was hard and not great. Service was a little slow. -
Review 4 (2023-12-10 - Rating: 5)
Love love LOVE Silvana! This Harlem staple did NOT disappoint.I highly recommend the shakshuka and the crispy cauliflower. The folks here were also very friendly and attentive. Ill definitely come back here again. -

Wouldn’t get falafels again. Pretty sure all gluten free fried products share the same fryer.I had to ask if they could prep my gf chicken shawarma without cc and they kindly told me they’d wipe down the counter.Celiacs tread carefully -
Review 6 (2021-06-05 - Rating: 5)
Went two days in a row and really loved the food here!! The beef kebab sandwich was really filling and the falafel was a bit different from what I’m used to but still crunchy and quite good, and the Israeli breakfast tasted amazing! Also, their pita both white and wheat? (The other brown kind) Are rad🔥the wheat one is slightly coarser but both were exactly the texture I was looking for— slightly chewy and soft. The Israeli salad that comes with the dish was fresh, and the babaganoush which I’ve been wanting to try was awesome and goes well with the tahini. One small thing I was a bit sad about was the eggs for it which I asked to be made poached (can be made any style you want); I was hoping the yolk would be runny kind of like an egg benedict but they came out hardened with the center completely cooked ;m; their wooden interior decor is cozy and the staff were very friendly. The water was also cucumber & lime flavored, something I was loke really happy about bc I hate the taste of tap water.⚠️ The food takes quite a bit of time to come out though so you probably wouldn’t want to go here if you’re in a rush. -

Friendly staff, delicious food, great atmosphere. Downstairs is cool, too, and has live music some nights! -
Review 8 (2022-10-04 - Rating: 4)
Went there on a beautiful summer evening for live jazz music. The stage is basement level, very spacious and chill vibes.Descent menu of food and drinks.Close to major street intersection with subway access.Tip the musicians!! -

I absolutely love this restaurant! From the fresh food, lively atmosphere and chill vibes, Silvana is always a good decision. -
Review 10 (2019-12-18 - Rating: 5)
This is an amazing Israeli restaurant with daily live music. I always get the crispy eggplant with a falafel plate that comes with tahini, sabich (cabbage), hummus, fluffy potato chips, Israeli salad, and pita. They also have macadamia nut milk lattes and a wide variety of loose leaf teas. Dont miss out on the live music downstairs either! -
Review 11 (2021-06-26 - Rating: 5)
Really delicious Mediterranean food with excellent service. the grilled beef with excellent, the hummus was delicious, the pita was fresh and soft, and the lentils and rice was flavorful and well spiced. -
Review 12 (2024-08-10 - Rating: 5)
What an incredible meal! we had shakshuka and an israeli salad with pita. loved every bite and will make sure to come back! -
Review 13 (2019-12-09 - Rating: 5)
Great Falafel and Shawarma alternative. The place is rather casual, ideal for a lunch or an informal dinner. What you see on the picture is a lamb shawarma, which is the closest I’ve tried to the real thing you get in Middle East.Service was also great! -
Review 14 (2023-07-30 - Rating: 5)
Amazing place. Good food and they carry our favorite beer —Brown Girl’s Brew Carrot Cake Amber Ale 🍺 😋 -
Review 15 (2022-06-04 - Rating: 5)
I attended an 80s 90s live band singalong in the basement performance space. Very tasty selections from the menu was served at this event. -
Review 16 (2021-08-31 - Rating: 5)

Review 17 (2024-09-13 - Rating: 5)
Great time, great food, music, dj and staff. We love the waiter Gabriel. The DJnorqsts was amazing. -
Review 18 (2024-05-27 - Rating: 4)
Its a casual place with a vibrant basement used for jazz jam sessions at night. The Middle Eastern platters are excellent, dont drink their cheap wine please, they list draft beers but dont have them, service is slow on a busy evening, customers are from a wide variety of ethnic backgrounds. -
Review 19 (2024-01-04 - Rating: 5)
This place is amazing. Ive been many times (both the cafe floor and the live music basement) since moving to Harlem in summer 2022, and Ive recommended it to everyone I know. The foods great and well-priced, the upstairs cafe is a cool, calming place to do work or talk with friends, and the downstairs hosts great music and a bar with incredible cocktails. My one suggestion would be to improve the sound insulation and/or ordering system in the downstairs space; it gets really loud and can be difficult to order or generally speak with the bartenders/waitstaff (e.g., ask questions). But overall love this place, its a neighborhood go-to -
Review 20 (2024-03-25 - Rating: 4)
Food looked and smelled good, I was there for the music and drinks. Young and hip place with a 1970s Bohemian vibe. The cover band was good with 90s songs followed up with a jazzy quintet. Service was great and attentive. -
Review 21 (2024-08-23 - Rating: 5)
The food was delicious, but the salmon was a little bit too dry for me (even though I requested medium cooked). Nice spot for lunch. -
Review 22 (2022-02-09 - Rating: 5)

One of the best places for Middle Eastern Food in the UWS. The food is very fresh and delicioud, served in generous quantities and very reasonably priced. The decoration is beautiful and the staff very attentive. Truly one of our favorites spots in our neighborhood. -
Review 25 (2023-11-08 - Rating: 5)
Intimate music space downstairs, havent tried the food but it looks great. Looking forward to coming back. -

Amazing food - kebab sandwhich was great. The seasoning on the Awesome atmosphere with live music downstairs. -
Review 29 (2023-04-11 - Rating: 4)
Really nice north African Mediterranean spot! The restaurant also has store items for purchase like cards and candles you can tell are individually made. The food was suuuuper good and drinks are at an awesome price. There was jazz on the lower level too that was really enjoyable. All around a wonderful atmosphere. We did have to kind of hunt down people to be served but it was pretty busy, and the staff was super great so I dont think it took away from the experience at all. -
Review 30 (2023-11-12 - Rating: 5)
The food is amazing, and it’s a great place to hang out and get some work done. Or you can head downstairs and listen live music. There are happy hour specials as well. -
Review 31 (2023-11-26 - Rating: 5)
I came for breakfast after a run in Morningside Park. I ordered the poached eggs with hummus and caramelized onions. And crispy ones too. It was amazingly delicious. They also had gluten free pita bread! Or I could have chosen veggies but decided to go with the carbs. Great staff and really interesting patrons. Go there! -
Review 32 (2022-12-01 - Rating: 5)
Love this spot. I go for the live music and drinks. They have a variety or artists and music. There is lots of seating in the early evening. After 12am (late night) on the weekends, they take away the seats and it becomes a dance party. It is a diverse crowd and the music the late weekend evenings is primarily afrobeats with some hip hop. -
Review 33 (2018-05-21 - Rating: 5)
Silvana (and sister location Shrine World Music Venue) is the premier live music destination in Harlem and thru connections with local stand-up comedians, its quickly gaining reputation as a regular haunt for stand-up comedy as well. With earthy, bohemian, eclectic decor that elicits a worldly, well-traveled vibe and excellent Middle-Eastern menu fare, its unlike any other establishment in the five boroughs. Pro-tip: The chicken shwarma is ALWAYS a winner. -
Review 34 (2023-12-18 - Rating: 5)
Their falafel is amazing and I usually get the platter. The service is great as their food comes out relatively fast. This place is my go to on Sunday afternoons after volunteering at the animal shelter for a late lunch. -
Review 35 (2023-06-01 - Rating: 5)
Silvana is a great middle eastern / West African cafe with a live music venue downstairs featuring different groups every night. Late set with DJ are also frequent. The food is good and prices are very reasonable, there is usually no cover charge for the live music. -
Review 36 (2023-08-17 - Rating: 5)
My son and I just enjoyed a delicious impromptu lunch here. The restaurant was unpretentious and welcoming, the staff member was lovely and the food was sensational - it was a fantastic lunch for a great price. -
Review 37 (2023-11-03 - Rating: 4)
Great service, falafels were great but fluffy chips a bit heavy. Nice underground concerts. Happy hours for drinks and cocktails. -
Review 38 (2022-10-18 - Rating: 5)
Amazing vibe !!We accidentally discovered this food-live music place on a not so cold Saturday Evening. And what a vibe !! The basement area of the restaurant hosts music groups, the crowd is great, service super nice. Food was good, prices affordable.A great place for Saturday night. -
Review 39 (2023-08-18 - Rating: 5)
Love this cute cafe! (But please don’t overcrowd it lol). It has wifi (Can be slow but it’s a small cafe so too bad) great seating inside and out (no AC inside, but AC outside). The food is DELICIOUS, like actually so phenomenal. And the tea selection is 10/10.Lowkey being gentrified by annoying columbia students, watch out LOL -
Review 40 (2023-04-30 - Rating: 4)
Intimate, easy going spot to catch some of NYCs top musicians doing what they love. The food is great. The local neighbors come here to party, too. Its a very warm and inviting vibe. -
Review 41 (2023-05-29 - Rating: 4)
The food is excellent, however, the service is quite slow and efficient, hence the reason for four stars. I think the best item here is their falafel plate, which comes with four big falafel Pattie’s on a bed of tahini and several small salads and hummus, along with a choice of 2 sides. For $14, this is a great value for an absolutely delicious snack. We always get the fluffy potato chips which are really flavorful along with their fattoush salad.Another great item is the babaganoush. This roasted, eggplant dip is incredibly smoky, and the smoked paprika on top gives it great flavor. The pita they serve with it is extremely soft and fresh as well.We have tried other dishes in the past, like their cauliflower appetizer, but it just misses the mark. Honestly, just come here if you want the two aforementioned dishes. -
Review 42 (2023-10-02 - Rating: 5)
On a beautiful Monday afternoon in Harlem I was in need of nourishment. I walked past Silvana on 116th and then came back hoping it would not disappoint. Extremely friendly staff very welcoming. Tried some Red Jacket NY Style Lemonade. Very good. And then came the Falafel. It’s been way too long. It was a flavor explosion. Good crispy outside and moist inside. Like a long lost friend . A++ -
Review 43 (2024-03-16 - Rating: 5)
One of my favourite spots in Harlem. The food and vibe is on point, with the music downstairs as an added, brilliant, bonus. An easy routine is dinner upstairs followed by a few drinks with live music downstairs. Can’t go wrong. -
Review 44 (2023-11-25 - Rating: 5)
Not only a restaurant with delicious Mediterranean cuisine but a nice store with the feel of Africa…and then you have a down stairs area where the music 🎶 was happening . Loved The Whole Experience -
Review 45 (2022-03-25 - Rating: 5)
One of my favorites! Excellent vibes, great customer service. The decor and aesthetic is SO cool. They put the “shop” in coffee shop. Music is usually great. Food is delicious. Highly recommend! -
Review 46 (2024-10-05 - Rating: 5)

I love this neighborhood spot. The food is always delicious and the staff are nothing but friendly. A good place to sit and do work or catch up with friends. Also - don’t sleep on their happy hour. They have great deals! -
Review 50 (2023-12-10 - Rating: 5)
What an amazing place. The service was great. We held an impromptu family gathering. Tiffany was so helpful in putting it together quickly and Anissa our bartender made delicious drinks and was just so accommodating. The food was off the hook!!! We are in love with Silvana!!! -
Review 51 (2024-09-18 - Rating: 5)
Atmosphere! This place has it. Personally, the food, I’m not a fan of but I can see how some people might be. The service and vibe are great though, I would definitely say check it out. -
Review 52 (2022-07-10 - Rating: 5)
Great atmosphere, the bands were amazing, but the service was not so great. The waitress gave my table menus but never came back to take orders. We werent too pleased about that, ended up eating elsewhere. -
Review 53 (2019-07-13 - Rating: 4)
Nice place to come for drinks and apps. The service wasnt great but they were friendly. Highly recommend the humus with poached eggs. It was surprisingly delicious and was a good portion size. The falafel was decent but nothing to rave about. They had outdoor seating which was nice. -
Review 54 (2024-05-19 - Rating: 5)
SUCH GOOD FOOD! Thank you so much for great drinks and music as well! -
Review 55 (2024-12-12 - Rating: 4)
Good place to visit, but be careful about the prices. 2 matchas latte for 5.68 USD each ended up with 14.5 USD (hidden “processing fees”) + tip, which made it 18 USD.The drinks were good. It is a little pricy though! -
Review 56 (2023-03-05 - Rating: 5)
Really atmospheric Mediterranean leaning eatery. Very hip decor. Lovely service. Unique dishes. I had a terrific oatmeal with chia and hemp seeds. Very distinc taste. My partner had a very tasty Mediterranean egg dish. -
Review 57 (2019-09-12 - Rating: 4)
Had fun ball at this place. The music was good to an extent. There was a lot of afro beat music more than anything. I was wishing there was more hip hop and r&b, but then again thats my opinion. Others may have enjoyed that sound. Met really great people, had a seat and had fun. -
Review 58 (2023-12-19 - Rating: 5)
Best hummus! Best chai latte! Best shasuka (gosh so comforting!)! Best happy hour house wine! Been here multiple times but didn’t take pictures much. -
Review 59 (2020-09-15 - Rating: 5)
Great music, delicious food, friendly staff, and a phenomenal study spot. i saw jules and the jinks here in february and have been for brunch and dinner many times before. the israeli breakfast and fried cauliflower are soooo good. its a little expensive (esp. the drinks), but the vibe and aesthetic are great. its definitely worth it! -
Review 60 (2019-12-09 - Rating: 5)
The food is superb! I was surprised to find such rich and satisfying hummus, as well as amazing pita and many other dishes. They have a hot sauce that is SPICY and delicious! The staff were helpful and the vibe was quite. Looking forward to eating here again. -
Review 61 (2022-07-30 - Rating: 5)
Oh my Lordy Lordy-please come here!! I’m sooo hype i found this place in my neighborhood bc it has definitely become a local favorite. The restaurant is very inviting, cozy, perfect environment to work in. The fooddd OMG the food is sooo scrumptious. Literally every single thing i tried i devoured. I got the chicken shawarma, falafel, and side salad. The pita bread was fresh and filling. The condiments in the shawarma is a perfect blend. I don’t even like pickles but the way they combined it in there was finger licking good. The decor is so cute and comfy. Almost everything in there is for sale so it’s like a cute scavenger hunt for handmade gems that make for great gifts. The servers were so nice, attentive and fast. The mint tea was the perfect end to my meal. I can’t recommend this place enough! I came here on a date and we both left speechless. -
Review 62 (2019-09-30 - Rating: 4)
They have a nice space with a stafe downstairs, where an eclectic assortment of (usually good) local musicians play, making this a good place to scope out the local talent. Bar service can be slow when it is crowded, but theres nothing unusual about that. Would stay away from the house cocktails unless you like your drinks very sugary. -
Review 63 (2023-04-29 - Rating: 5)
I go there fairly regularly to play music. The food is quite good in a Middle Eastern style, prices are reasonable. Definitely check out the sabich and shakshuka. -
Review 64 (2019-08-25 - Rating: 4)
It was nice. Good music. Table service, bar, and a place to dance. Coffee shop upstairs. The waitress was really nice to us. When we left the place was jamming with live Africa music. Overall chill place to hang with friends. -
Review 65 (2019-09-03 - Rating: 5)
Awesome food, friendly service, family style seating inside, tables outside. The babaganoush is smoky, smooth, amazing. Fluffy potato chips were light and crispy. Beef kebab plate, yes! Great happy hour specials also. -
Review 66 (2023-06-08 - Rating: 5)
Charming restaurant. Food was delicious. I highly recommend the bowls. They offer cheap glasses of wine and have gluten free pita. -
Review 67 (2019-01-17 - Rating: 5)
Been coming here for years now and never disappoints. Live music on Friday and Saturday nights are always a hit, best place in West Harlem for a mix of some reggae music. Only downside is there is normally a $10 cover on the nights with the best crowd/music. -
Review 68 (2021-05-23 - Rating: 4)
This is a very cute place I went to for the first time yesterday. I am always on the search for a great coffee shop and am glad that I stumbled upon this one. The menu is a bit pricey. I ordered the bacon egg and cheese sandwich and wasnt the biggest fan. Excellent vibes all around though. -
Review 69 (2023-01-10 - Rating: 4)
Very great giving place with good food and drinks.Service sometimes can very extremely slow. One time we have been waiting our margaritas for 20-25 minutes after ordered and paid -
Review 70 (2023-08-20 - Rating: 5)
If you want an oasis like atmosphere with a smooth jazzy playlist and French pressed coffee, go no further than Silvana. Madame Z will attend to you... Shakshuka is so flavorful. Ceiling fan would be nice. -
Review 71 (2019-04-19 - Rating: 4)
I never went for their DJ nights which is down at the basement but I once ordered a lamb shawarma here and I was blown away by its taste. I really didnt expect it to be that good but it was freshly made and the quantities were generous.I have lived in the area for about a couple of years and this place was always packed with people drunking and eating outside. Expect it to be more crowded on weekends. -
Review 72 (2018-06-29 - Rating: 5)
I didnt know what to expect when a friend invited me to see a band here. I was nervous. I am picky about bad accoustics and loud places. I was pleasantly surprised. Great accoustics. Perfect sound level. Unexpected bonus was the food, drink, and service was fantastic. Great date night or boys or girls night out place. -
Review 73 (2024-08-02 - Rating: 5)
Met Phil Young and his House of Blues here, I dont think Ill ever find another place like Silvana. The energy, vibe, and music were all just FULL of SOUL! I dont think theres a single more positive atmosphere out there, theres seriously nothing like it. Cheers to Phil and say hi to Beverly for me! -
Review 74 (2022-07-10 - Rating: 4)
Food was really filling and prices were good! The soft potato chips were amazing. They had two really good outdoor dining areas. One was covered with many windows. -
Review 75 (2023-01-11 - Rating: 4)
Came here to see a family member preform. Restaurant on top and music downstairs which I would consider the basement. Nice atmosphere, drinks pretty strong overall I had a nice time. -
Review 76 (2024-03-17 - Rating: 5)
Late night is a vibe. Good music plus heavy handed bartenders equals a great night!! -
Review 77 (2013-09-07 - Rating: 4)
This is such a great addition to the neighborhood. Long lines at Harlem Tavern. Swing on over to Silvana. Enjoy their live music downstairs and eat some cheap authentic food. I like the sandwiches better than the plates. They have really good cocktails and a good selection of beer. The staff is friendly. My only complaint is that the music here can get weird. -
Review 78 (2024-03-16 - Rating: 5)

I was waiting for friends to go eat elsewhere, and decided to go into this coffee shop to work on my computer meanwhile. I was surprised to find out that it wasnt just a coffee shop! I ended up getting a drink for half the price on happy hour, listening to some jazz music, and craving their food selection. Ill definitely be back for dinner! -
Review 87 (2015-08-11 - Rating: 4)
A nice place to go for some live music and specialty cocktails.Bags will be checked at the door and outside food & drinks are not allowed inside, so you will have to leave them outside with the bouncer. There may or may not be a cover when you go, and the doorman may or may not make you pay it (if he is friendly). -
Review 88 (2018-12-23 - Rating: 4)
Always having a good time when I go here. Maybe its that good or Im just lucky to have such experiences when I go. Either way, Ill continue to support this business. Great vibes! But drinks were not strong at all. -
Review 89 (2017-02-08 - Rating: 5)
This is a great neighborhood spot for happy hour, cafe and hookah. The downstairs is a bar/venue the upstairs is the cafe. They have a amazing deals like $4 happy hour. The food is tasty too. -
Review 90 (2013-06-22 - Rating: 4)
Ive not been there, but I live in the neighborhood. They seem to think that I want to hear their music a block away in my apartment. I do not. If this is the way they introduce themselves to the neighborhood, I do not see good times ahead. Should anyone from the restaurant be monitoring this page, please know that Ive complained about your noise already and plan to continue to do so if you continue in this manner. I will also make it a point to attend neighborhood meetings pertaining to this matter. People live here and that should be respected. -
Review 91 (2023-01-21 - Rating: 5)

Review 95 (2019-05-30 - Rating: 5)
The DJ is a miracle! I couldnt sit down even when I wanted to. Afrobeat, hip-hop, soca.. everything you can think of, he has it and knows when to play it. And the decoration of the place creates the perfect vibe to keep you in the dancing mood. I highly recommend this place! I will be back next time I visit NYC. -
Review 96 (2019-06-07 - Rating: 5)
One of those little Gems in HARLEM! I was in the mood for Indian, middle east or African food and found this place on Google Maps. Instead of taking the 1 Train i accidentally took the 2 train and walked 116 nearly end to end. I was EXHAUSTED but enjoyed myself walking through the streets Harlem which i dont get to do often. Coming in you noticed the decor which most of it is for sale. Decor with the natural light really hit the mark for me. Amazing colors and textures everywhere. Music in the background was a nice touch and very subtle. Classic Reggae played which i went in on my Chicken, veggies, potatoes and Summer ALE. Forgive me.. i dont remember the name of the chicken plate and asked the server to recommend a side for me. i said..I trust you.. and she brought back fried potatos. I was very impressed with all and all was well priced. About $20-22 with a beer. I even stayed for a CHAI. I WOULD highly recommend this lil bistro. oh.. one more thing. They have a speakeasy downstairs with Moroccan-style tables and stools according to the website. So.. you know i will be back. :) Thank you HARLEM! -

An interesting little place with a cozy feel and good middle Eastern style food. I was impressed with the table water: cucumber and lemon! Yum! Live music on certain nights too! -

Silvana is a great place to listen to good music, smoke hookah and eat food. You have all type of band but it usually start with Jazz at 6pm and turn out to be a club starting at midnight usually. Good vibes and grat / pro bartenders! -

Good spot for live music and drinks. 4 stars because the bathroom situation needs to be improved. Only one single occupancy bathroom downstairs where the bands play. -

What a great, intimate venue to see live music and grab some delicious Middle-Eastern food. Saw the band Empire Beats here twice and they had the crowd of all ages dancing and singing along. They were great! Amazing singers, on-point musicians, I’ll definitely come back again to see them, since Silvana is an easy walk from my place and I need my dance fix. But the way, they played different songs on each show! Hound Dog was amazing. -

A very small place, but the music was pretty good -a mixture of afrobeat, reggae, soca, and dembo throughout the night. It held a predominantly POC crowd, which was nice, and mostly everyone was dancing. -

Delicious food in a cute homey spot. My husband and I were looking to get small bites and chat for a bit. This place was not only charming, but the Mediterranean food was good! We got stuffed grape leaves, hummus with roasted mushrooms and pita bread. they give you an option between wheat pita and white which is nice for the health conscious. Their falafel were crispy but not oily. I would def recommend! -

Silvana - store and cafe-shop. Postcards, t-shirt, etc. Pretty laid back Israel place with incredible food, coffee, baked goods and very slow service. And really, shakshuka (israel style eggs-ratatouille with tomato souse) will make you forget the fact you spent 30 min waiting for food. -
