    Any place that has Chucky and his bride behind the bar has got to be interesting joint. Friendly bartender lady. A rum & Coke cost me $7.00 bucks. Mellow atmosphere, seems like many folks over 50 years of age and regulars. Didn’t try the food. Love the Ukraine connection this bar has, of some type. I’m 64 and was visiting from Virginia, I will be back to give this bar another go!🇺🇦

    No frills pub style dive bar with cheap drinks and rock music blasting. 4$ for a well shot is tough to beat in this neighborhood

    OG East Village. If you’re looking for a spot that’s as authentic as they get for the East Village, come here. Cheap drinks, music that hasn’t changed in years and booths that are great for conversations, check this place out. Hidden gem off of second avenue. Oh, there’s cheap food available from the back restaurant.Btw, if you’re looking for a bougie bar with $19 cocktails keep walking. There’s tons of places around here to rip you off. If you want something that’s old school east village (with the tinge of attitude that is so classic EV) then this is your place.

    This old school Ukrainian east village bar is a great deal. They still play jeopardy and offer beer/shot combos. Legendary little joint next to Veselka, named after a nostalgic children’s show. Don’t order wine here and you’ll be ok.

    Perfect place to catch up with friends. Nice atmosphere, cheap drinks. Only downside would be the bathroom is not accessible to people with wheelchairs.

    It’s my dive bar! The bartender is great and knows how to set mood. Even played so Ukrainian music that just felt with my drink. Had some pierogies. This will be my weekly spot for sure!!!

    This is my favorite bar in the city. The music is great, the bartenders and crowd are cool and respectful. Every time Ive been here the crowds have been decent but not overwhelming and theres a fair amount of seats. Theres good deals too like the pbr and shot for 4 bucks. As a nice chill spot Id be hard pressed to think of anything being much better than this place.

    Best bar I frequent… great crowd, understandable drink prices, unbeatable food to fill you up, and a friendly staff… you can’t beat that. They make having a good night out easy.

    Amazingly cheap drinks and tasty pierogies, etc., available from the restaurant next door. Both places are total throwbacks and should never change. Terrible wine, though, but it serves us right for drinking wine in a place where a shot and a beer can be had for like 6 bucks. Yes, you read that right. Next time well drink smarter.

    Best music selection at a venue Ive experienced anywhere near here, has a very laid-back atmosphere and comfortable lounge feel to the place. Also has decent prices and applaudable selection.

    Love this place! Not the whole loud college braincells crowd. Praying it stays that way.The bartender working yesterday with the blond hair and plaid shirt was very polite and kind. It’s a very nice low-key atmosphere.

    Bartender was very friendly and when she heard it was my husbands birthday she gave him a lot of free drinks. Everything was also very reasonably price if not cheap, the music selection was nice and at a good volume that allows you to talk to your friends. Everyone had a good time

    All stars for atmosphere. This is a quaint somewhat Ukrainian New York dive bar with very good PBR/shot special and interesting atmosphere. I like that its a little sunken and dark and the service is totally unpretentious. Good place to have a drink while for a table, or just maybe before or after dinner.

    I have always hang in st. Marks and went with my friend to sly fox! Honestly thought it was part of the Ukrainian center all this time. But this bar is seriously awesome with a restaurant in the back and I love ot!!! Go ahead and try it, its worth it!!!
