    What a find!!! An intimate, upscale restaurant located on 50th Street near 2nd Ave.Menu prices are reasonable and it’s a great location to bring a date. Very, very romantic atmosphere!!On street parking is located in front of the restaurant.Place is AMAZING! Fabulous food, a welcoming staff that is super knowledgeable, friendly and speak Italian too!Federico (Freddy) and Kristen are amazing hosts. Make you feel like family as soon as you step foot inside this place. They offer suggestions on the food and wine that are spot on!!!Restaurant is SUPER clean with a cozy feel. They even have a small outdoor garden in the back. Also have a private party room as well.Try the pizza- to die for. Also the vast wine list is amazing too. This place has it all and does NOT miss a thing.This place is seriously worth the money and worth the trip.

    Absolutely fantastic spot for a little romantic date night! We loved the Chianti and the Super Tuscan. Eva is a wonderful server- so sweet and very attentive. Highly recommend!

    A fun place to get your favorite glass of wine or try something new. The servers are very knowledgeable about the wines they serve, and offer tastings before deciding on a wine to have. In addition, we tried the caprese bruschetta, which was just ok but took a long time to be served. Overall very quaint and I would come back for drinks if Im in the area again.

    Very impressed by this place. From the absolutely delicious food to their wine to their cozy environment. 10/10 would reccomend. Came in on mothers day with my mother and grandmother expecting a over crowded restaurant and long wait. But that was not the case. It was nice to get away from the hussel and bussel of the city and really be able to enjoy our time together. I would definitely come back! Their meat and cheese board was very big and worth every penny and their bootstrap pasta was so good it makes you want to lick the plate!!

    My favorite neighborhood place. I love stopping here for a last-minute weeknight dinner, a planned date night, a large group event, dinner with friends, and everything in between. The food and wine are phenomenal (my favorite is the Margherita pizza and gnocchi), but it’s the service that makes it everything. Luca, Freddy and Lucky are so so welcoming and warm. Everyone is wonderful there.

    Small space with heated outdoor seating! Service was good, the pizza was amazing definitely worth coming back for it. I had the margarita pizza super delicious.     I LOVEEE this place! I’ve been going to Sofia’s for years and they never disappoint. It’s so good that everyone I bring, loves it too and returns.The food and staff here are great and what I appreciate is its consistency in all categories. It’s a quaint spot that makes you feel like you’re in a completely different place than NYC. In addition to, the variety yet simplicity and pricing of their menu is enticing. They have a great variety of wine and will give you great recommendations if you want to try something new.     This was the most lovely place with the most attentive and thoughtful people. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is absolutely delicious, as was the wine. We were two adults and two kids, had a reasonable wait and the guys working were incredibly attuned to our needs throughout. Our while waiting grumpy young people turned into big fans, stating emphatically that the pizza and dessert were SO worth the wait. Loved it. We will absolutely be back.

    This place is great for mid-town east standards - not too expensive unlike many overpriced options in the area, cozy vibes, not too busy, but also pretty high quality. They have a decently robust wine list and a staff that knows it well. The staff are very nice!This is a go to spot after work for me and my friends to enjoy some good conversation, wine, and bread. Very few combinations are better in my opinion!

    We were in NYC and found Sophias near our Hotel. We very much enjoyed our two visits there. Kiki (bartender) was busy, friendly and efficient. We had a wonderful arugula salad and a beautiful glass of wine. We brought our friend with us the next night and enjoyed the great service (Kiki and her co worker?). They treated us like kings and queens! These Alaskans found NYC friendly and Sophias fabulous.

    Relaxed, convivial atmosphere in Midtown East in an area saturated with drinking establishments. Wine list by the glass is wide-ranging and well-chosen, not really focused on Italian varietals but certainly has them in abundance. Reasonable prices all-told, with glass prices in the low teens and up. The bartenders are well-versed in their wines, and happy to talk about the various regions represented.Theres a large tented outdoor space behind the main room, which lends itself to larger groups. Though we havent partaken, Sofia is well-known as an excellent restaurant to boot, and the to-go offerings passing by us at the bar smelled fantastic for what its worth.

    The food and wine is absolutely delicious! My fiancé and I had several date nights here and loved it soo much that we had our small intimate wedding dinner here!! The owner Thomas was absolutely incredible during the preparation!     A very charming place. The food is delicious all hand made with top quality ingredients. The meatballs are the best you can have. The owner makes daily fresh mozzarella with incredible flavor and texture. The wine selection is huge best wine from all over the world. Very romantic and cozy. The people working there very friendly and professional. I would suggest to ask the specials, sometime they have a great lasagna. Highly recommend

    After a long flight fromLos Angeles, we checked into our hotel and were walking around the neighborhood in the rain looking for a place that would take us without a reservation. Sofia’s not only took us in, they gave us an incredible and memorable evening of great food and wine, but even better hospitality. The food is phenomenal. The wines are exceptional and the prices are good, but it is the warmth and friendly atmosphere that should bring you here again and again. We are going to be back before we leave Manhattan this trip and we will return every time we come to New York.

    One of the best wine bars Ive frequented in NYC. Very rustic feel with exposed brick, chandeliers, candle lit table tops and a great looking bar. The staff is excellent and attentive and the food is all as tasty as can be. The place gets very full in the evening and it can be loud but that all adds to the ambiance in my opinion and is part of the appeal. I recomend for anyone wanting a low key and romantic date night or a small group to close friends who want to catch up.

    One of our favorite restaurants in the city. We live nearby and Sofia is certainly one of the best spots in the neighborhood. We love the pizza, the meatballs, the bruschetta, meat and cheese plate, pretty much everything on the menu. The cozy interior is very inviting. We always come back!

Both were bursting with flavor and set the perfect tone for the evening.For the main course, I enjoyed the La Nonna Pan Pizza and the Paccheri Lisci Bolognese. The pizza was perfectly cooked, with a crispy crust and delicious toppings, while the Bolognese sauce in the paccheri was rich and satisfying—definitely a highlight!I couldnt resist trying the Bianca pizza, which was a lovely nod to my name. It was as delightful as it sounds, with a perfect blend of flavors that left me wanting more.To finish off the meal, we indulged in the homemade tiramisu for dessert.     This is a very nice and cozy looking place with great wine selection. We went there on a Monday night and it was packed!! We had to wait a bit to get seated but you can grab a drink at the bar. The wine was great. We also had pizza - delicious! Will definitely be back there.

    Great little neighborhood spot! In an area with very few good options make sure to bookmark this gem! It’s cozy, lively, and relaxed. The ambience is warm and inviting. Our waitress was a little slow but it was Friday night and she gave us great recommendations so that more then made up for it. We had the Sangiovese blend on her recommendation after we told her we didn’t love the taste of the super Tuscan she gave us. It was exactly what we wanted. Then we split the truffle burrata and bolognese burrata pizzas, also her recommendation because we wanted a white and a red. Wow am I glad we followed her lead. Everything was fantastic. They even brought me additional mikes hot honey when I requested it. Overall a great experience and it will become a go to if I’m in that neighborhood.

    Sofia Wine bar is my top wine bar in NYC. Great date night spot, but also fun with a group. The intimate back is great for a date, while the front and bar is great for a group of 4. Prices are expected for Manhattan, they update and change a few of the wines to keep it fresh. Food is also yummy and tasty. Overall I always leave Sofias happy and more than satisfied! Friends that I recommend here also love it! Will be back consistantly.

    Some of the best wine selection in the city and at an affordable price point. But the best part, this pace makes you feel like youre hanging out at your best friend house, the service is fantastic, and Leo will make you feel extra special whether youre having a glass of wine by yourself at the bar or bring bunch of friends over.     My girlfriend found them on Tiktok last minute while we were walking around. Ended up splitting the Margherita Pizza, which was perfect for a light dinner. Price was reasonable and service was quick. We used the outside seating without having to wait, and it was especially nice because theres less foot traffic walking by compared to some locations on the main avenues. Food was great, sauce had a very nice flavor.

    Sofia’s is an all around gem of a restaurant! Federico is the best of the best-attentive and engaging, with such a beautiful spirit! The ambiance is perfect. The food is impeccable and they have an extensive list of fabulous wine and bubbles. I had the Burrata Bolognese pizza (very impressed by the organic ingredients throughout their menu), and topped off with a Cannoli that was absolutely divine.     Cozy Italian wine bar and restaurant thats perfect for a date night or even catching up with friends. Has a variety of Sicilian wines, French, etc. The Food is actually quite delicious as well! Highly would recommend the Truffle Burrata pizza (I order it on a bi weekly basis). SUPER friendly Staff that make you feel welcomed and loved. There is seating available in the back of the place that feels a bit more private and outside in the street if needed. They even have a back outdoor patio where you can sit when its warm out. Overall great atmosphere!

    Sofia Wine Bar is one of my favorite places in NYC. It was my go to for first dates back in the day when I was still single and is actually where I met my now husband on our first blind date. We still go back every single year on the anniversary of our first date. The food, the wine and the staff are all absolutely outstanding. When my husband and I decided to elope this year, I immediately emailed the owner Leo who put me in touch with the Manager Freddy. Freddy went out of his way to make sure we had a table to celebrate our wedding dinner with our two best friends (who also had their first date at Sofia’s). Freddy went above and beyond to make my wedding dinner so special. My husband and I love Sofia’s, a place that will forever be so special to us. The food is phenomenal, and you legit cannot go wrong ordering anything on their menu. Cannot recommend this place enough.

    Went with a group of 4 on a Thursday night around 8:00. Place was packed so we stood at the bar while waiting for a table. Bartender was very nice allowing my wife to try different wines to find one she liked. Once we got a table we ordered the Sofia platter for 4. Very tasty and the wines are great too.It does get loud when its packed but we were still able to have a conversation. All in all the vibe was great, the people who work there were very friendly and its a great spot away from the chaos of Times Square/Broadway.Would definitely go back.

    Cozy atmosphere, delicious food (the cheese-filled beggars purse pasta dish with creamy truffle sauce was amazing!), and great wine. My only complaint is that the music was completely wrong for the vibe! It’s a romantic and quaint-looking place but they were playing 80s hits (Never Gonna Give You Up, Funkytown, Karma Chameleon, etc). In my opinion some jazz or classical guitar or something would’ve fit much better and given a more romantic atmosphere.

    Nice bar with a room for more intimate seating. The immediate bar area is noisy and social. Just depends what you want to go for. It is very tight I will say and the tables out at the immediate bar area, I wouldnt want to sit at. But the inside room was nice and quiet. The whole place is lit mainly with candles. Nice setting. We had the meat and cheese plate which came with 4 slices of bread only so we had to ask for more. Wine selection was good. Prices are reasonable enough for the location. Solid spot for a date.

    I love this place. Casual, intimate, great pizzas and appetizers to enjoy with good wine selection. Glad its open again. Only complaint was the last time I was there, the bar tender was having a very loud conversation with someone at the other side of the restaurant across where we were seated and it was a little distracting.

    Amazing wine bar! Been once a few years back and had an amazing charcuterie board with a bittle of wine. Then a few weeks, came and discovered the delicious Lambrusco and how amazing their flatbread pizzas are. Would definitely be back! The manager there also makes a mean espresso martini!

    I went here for dinner while I was in the city for a work trip, with time to kill. I just stumbled upon it on the internet looking for nearby places, and Im so glad I did! The tiny space is exactly what you would hope for in a NYC wine bar: romantic, friendly, and chic. It was around Halloween, so they had decorated for the holiday. The music wasnt too loud, and was pleasant in the atmosphere. I had two glasses of wine, an olive appetizer and sliders, all of which were fantastic. I sat at the bar, since I was alone, and the service was swift and welcoming. Also, they had a fabulously clean bathroom. Looking forward to visiting again!

    This is a lovely neighbourhood wine bar with a decent selection of wines, mainly Italian. The food is great and the staff are really friendly. I would highly recommend this for a relaxed wine and a feed with friends. Excellent spot.
