    I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at this restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience! Our server was outstanding—she knew the menu inside and out, sharing the specials and offering great recommendations. My sister and I shared an entrée, and everything on the plate was cooked to perfection—so tender and flavorful.The special sangria was a highlight—delicious! To top it off, the staff made the celebration even more special by singing Happy Birthday, which added a thoughtful touch.The restaurant itself has a beautiful atmosphere. I’m excited to return in the summer to enjoy their patio seating with its stunning views. This place is a gem, and I cant recommend it enough!

    My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant by accident on New Years Eve, and we were so glad we did! Theyve offered a prefix dinner menu with choices for 1 st and 2nd appetizers, your main dish and dessert. Every single dish was excellent. Best branzino Ive ever had. Their cocktails def lived up to their cheeky names. Fun and delish. And of course, the views of Manhattan is hard to beat. Loved it!

    Had a great time here. Matt was a really sweet server. I got the Kefte as an app and it had a delightfully creamy and slightly dweet sauce paired it. The salmon was really nice and so was the lamb burger. Matt also asked what temp I wanted the salmon, a nice touch. Never been asked for temp in salmon before.

    Service was absolutely AMAZING. The staff was so welcoming and everyone we came across greeted us with a smile.This was our first time experiencing TV and we Def were impressed.We ordered the lobster gyro (incredible), grilled octopus (amazing), swordfish (delicious) and lobster squid ink pasta (super filling, lobster was a bit too chewy for my liking but the pasta was great). We did have an additional appetizer, the meatballs, it was OK - I probably would not get it again though.Our waiter, Juan, was superb and very attentive to all his guests.My only suggestion, is to have heat throughout the outside portion. it was really cold and we sat (me and my husband) on the side of the windows/water and were freezing - especially our legs. Typically when we go out to eat we spend a good time eating and drinking. We were really cold and went thru our meal pretty quickly and opted out for dessert.All in all, it was a great experience. Def will want to come back again (but hopefully not sit on the outside in cold weather like this)Thank you again Juan and staff, you all were INCREDIBLE.

    First, service is 5 stars. Food and atmosphere are def a 4 stars. I saved the review for my 2nd visit cause I wanted to be fair. Like most places in this area, the view is amazing. There are plenty of seats, but I still recommend to reserve at peak hours and weekends. The crowd seems to be familiar with the place. I liked the food, but the service is def what stands out the most. Portions are right and the time is very decent. I believe prices are on high side, but consistent with the area. I would def recommend this place.

    I have been here several times and each time every aspect of the place has been AMAZING. We sat outdoors on my last visit and it added more of an atmosphere to dinner.

    Great atmosphere and amaizing service 👏. Very interesting selection of appetizers. Good food. Not a typical boring Mediterranean restaurant, which is a good thing. Huge bar with large selection of drinks. Be prepared to spend $50+ per person when all said and done, but its worth the price for the service, the atmosphere and the quality. This place is kids friendly even in the evening with live music. Nice options on the kids menu as well. High chair available for little ones. Nice views to walk around and take pictures. Huge outside free parking right next to this place. Can park, and walk around or go inside the restaurant. During very busy times Friday or Saturday night, live DJ music starts at 9pm . Best to call ahead for a table. But they always seem to be able to accommodate. Recommended.

    The Happy Hour is a great deal if you want to try their special margaritas ($9/drink) and explore their dips or small plates. The lamb burgers were hardy and the Saganaki sticks were a must try (3 pieces but filling). The passionfruit margarita stands out as the best cocktail we had! Great spot if you want a view and a vibey setting

    We walked in tonight (Monday) at 7:45pm with no reservation and no wait time. Anthony was our server and was fantastic! He made recommendations, made a few menu modifications for us and had a lot of knowledge over the menu and drinks. Anthony always checked on us as he walked past and was very attentive. This was our first time here, so it was a great first impression. All the food and drinks we ordered were beyond fantastic! The “Spinach Pie” was to die for (a must try)! Every dish had a nice presentation with generous portion sizes and flavored beautifully. We will definitely be repeat guests! 10 out of 10 stars!

    This place is a hidden gem, and deserves so much more notice! The host, servers, and managers were all fantastic. From the second we entered the door the service was on point till the very end. On top of excellent service, the food and drinks were amazing. I recommend this place for any occasion, especially for group dinners. They have a wonderful prefixed menu with everything. Thank you Taverna Veranda for making my birthday so special!

    Me and my partner came here on a date night and had a great, low key, enriching experience. Very elevated ambiance, with stellar service (thanks, Christian!). We ordered the lobster gyro as an appetizer; very light and pleasant. We then had the steak and fries, lamb chops and potatoes (talk about flavor)! Super tender and mouth watering! The music was mixed and just hard to not dance to (but again, an elevated experience)! Love me some Afro beats (shout out to DJ @likewter). The drinks were strong but not overwhelming and the dessert (lavender mousse) left us pleasantly surprised - first bite felt like a spa experience. Highly recommended 👌🏻

    Had the MOST amazing time yesterday at Taverna Veranda. I was organizing an event with a party of 30 people and Bosi (the manager) took utmost care that my requests were met, extended the best hospitality. Drinks and food were made to perfection and the DJ played an amazing mix and played every record we requested. All in all great experience. Thank you Taverna and team.

    Great food, atmosphere, and service. Everyone we interacted with was kind and helpful. Mona was our server and was very attentive. We sat on the patio with a lovely view of the Hudson.     Excellent service!! Great airy feel with comfortable seating and river views. Good for groups or couples but very noisy with low quality sound system. Nice, lively and inviting atmosphere. Great selection of starters with generous portions. Lobster gyro meze will not be ordered again. Mains of Mousaka, lamb burger, skirt steak and chicken kebab were good. Mixed reviews on the fries.     Finally got a chance to check out this new Mediterranean spot. First off, you cant beat the views when you are right on the Hudson. The atmosphere is chic... reminded me of a cute Miami spot I used to go to. Its an intimate space. Food was delicious. I had the Tiger shrimp and spinach. So flavorful. Im lessening my alcohol intake so our server offered mocktail versions, and it was yummy. Calamari was great. The only thing I wasnt a huge fan of was the baklava... it needed more honey. Personal preference. Well staffed. Great service. You can tell the owner(s) are paying close attention. Will definitely be back.

    I just returned from an amazing baby shower hosted here and loved everything about Taverna Veranda! The ambience, food, and service were nothing short of amazing. Everything we ate were delicious! The stand outs for me were:- Fava bean dip: loved the flavor and the caramelized onion just puts it over the top!- Stuffed mini peppers: this was done so well and was very tasty- Chicken kebab: tender, juicy, and flavorful, need I say more!?- Lavender mousse: I’m not a huge fan of lavender but this was perfect! Not too sweet and with a nice floral aroma- Baklava: just the right amount of sweetness and perfectly flaky! This might be the best baklava I’ve had yetI checked out their menu later and can’t wait to go back again. Their lobster pasta sounds amazing and all their cocktails have such witty names! I’m excited for them to offer brunch in the next few weeks 😊.

    I love this place. The ambiance is amazing, the food is spectacular, and the customer service is phenomenal. Overall a 10/10. Matt our server is amazing, he was always making sure we were having a great time and emphasized our friends birthday surprise with the cake.     Cant wait to GO BACK!!!Ambiance/Vibe: The entire place was beautiful, we ate along the waterfront and the view was so beautiful. There are cute picturesque areas in the space. There is ample parking and they played music with so much variety (they played the GOT theme song!!).Service: Our server was so pleasant, she was attentive, and made sure we were 100% taken care of. Even the surrounding staff checked on us and made sure everything was to our liking. A sweet lady who I believed to be a manager came to check on us frequently, to ensure we were having a good time and everything was to our liking.Food/Drinks: EVERYTHING WAS SO DELICIOUS!!!! The flavors, the portions, the FLAVORS lol. I cant even deal, writing in words cant describe the explosion of flavors in my mouth. The tzatziki dip & pita started us off and couldnt get enough of it. Once the rest of the meal came out we were even more satisfied with our actual entree. The drinks were fun and I loved the names that they came up with.     One of my favorite restaurants in NJ! The ambiance and treatment is amazing, our server Alonso was very friendly and helpful ☺️. He asked if anyone of us had allergies, which in many restaurants, they wouldn’t ask! We were celebrating my mother’s birthday, it was her first time and she cannot wait to come back. Thank you!

    DELICIOUS food! Super fresh, tasty, high quality, and beautifully presented. The seafood, ribs, dessert, everything. 7 star service. We absolutely loved the warm but classy ambience - right on the water. Will definitely be back soon. Highly recommend.

    This place hosts an amazing dinner ambience with perfect mood lighting. Visited on a Saturday night at 9.30pm which happened to be guest DJ night so the music was loud (but good) - just check in beforehand if you plan on having a quieter evening. I would recommend also to reserve a table on Google through Resy way before as it gets packed. We planned on having dinner at 7.30pm but had an open spot at 9.15pm. We called prior too to check if there was a wait time then but the staff could not specify a duration and it was full house at 7.30pm. Needless to say the wait was worth it - the fried calamari and pork chops were very delicious! The Greek salad was standard, but the skirt steak was way too salty (maybe it was just my plate). We took home the steak and it was better the next day. We saw many groups having girls night out while we were there so this is definitely the spot for that!

    Located in an unsuspecting strip plaza along the Hudson. Once you step foot inside, you feel great ambiance and modernness. The food itself is a modern take on classic Mediterranean cuisine. Our falafel crusted salmon was incredibly innovative and delicious! I would have never thought to pair the two but they execute the meal perfectly here. I would highly recommend!

    Trendy Mediterranean restaurant thats a good location to celebrate a birthday. Food is good. Got their hummus that comes with regular pita and fried pitas, falafel which tasted fresh, half rack of lambs with potatoes which is highly recommended and their chicken kebab that comes with rice, salad and tzatziki sauce. For dessert we got their hazelnut chocolate cake which was very decadent and sweet. Portions are generous and overall food was great. Got 2 glasses of their Greek red wine which good. They overcharged the number of drinks and price per drink when I got the check, so recommend skimming the check before paying.

    Only one thing to say. Wow!! Fantastic customer service. Baklava,lavender mouse and spice fries are must try. Every dish was pretty fresh with superb presentation.     Arrived here yesterday night with my boyfriend i loved everything about it we had a chance to sit outside on the deck it was lovely i had to give my thanks to the staff and the chef because the food was amazing i was amazed by the scenery and especially they were playing live music i definitely recommend the lamp chops they were delicious especially with the roasted potatoes so soft and juicy. i will definitely swing by here again in the future !

    I like Veranda because the food is very good. The service is actually not very good and this last time I could say that it has been one of the few times that I have felt well attended. Fernando was our waiter. He was very attentive and helpful. Ive been to Veranda several times and its the first time Ive seen so much attention.. in general good food, good drinks, good atmosphere but service has to improve and they need a Kids menu options. They happy hour menu OMG so good too.

    Found out that the restaurant opened 4 days ago! I had amazing experience today at Taverna Veranda. I love Mediterranean foods, buy them in Mediterranean grocery stores, and I’ve been to many Mediterranean restaurants both in New York and New Jersey. I can say that this place will be a popular place very soon!1. Atmosphere: what can beat the amazing Hudson River manhattan view! Indoor interior is also neatly prepared with flowers, woods, and greens.2. Food:1) Spicy feta dip- came with fried pita and regular grilled pita. I liked both pita but fried pita was the winner. It was a flavor bomb! Spicy feta wasn’t spicy to us, but flavor was really good. We also had grilled calamari, which we liked.2) Grilled calamari- fresh lightly seasoned calamari was delicious!3) Burrata salad- drizzled with balsamic reduction. The ingredients were so fresh, I could tell. They use good ingredients.4) Short ribs with orzo- short ribs were so moist, didn’t need a knife, and used good short ribs. Orzo was cooked like risotto style, but flavored with Mediterranean spices and elements.5) Dessert- we had a lava cake made with Greek cookie dough based with Nutella. Delicious!3. Service:All staffs were super nice and friendly. They continually came and asked how we are doing. Our server Herbie did amazing job as well! Friendly and attentive!They have great cocktail options and wine options too. We will definitely come back.

    Its located across the parking lot from Trader Joes. Dont let that fool you. This place is a great restaurant overlooking the river. It has outdoor seating which is perfect for a great night with riverside seating.Food does not disappoint, Cocktails are nice and after 9pm a DJ spins and the inside rocks.

    Third time I visit Taverna Veranda and I LOVE it, the restaurant is beautiful the view is amazing and the food is soooo good I love the kefta & stuffed pepper and the steak with french fries is delicious.     We came in last night after a day at SoJo out of convenience (we had stopped in here once before) but were blown away by our experience. Our server (I believe her name was Linda but it was a bit hard to hear over the live music- I’m sorry if that’s not right!) was the star of the show. She was well versed on the menu and gave us a phenomenal wine recommendation. We enjoyed two cocktails to start, their two specials of the night (16 oz boneless ribeye and shrimp risotto) and the baklava and strawberry cheesecake. For cocktails, “When life gives you Lychees” was amazing and I’m sure the rest of them are as well. The food was really good and perfectly made (the risotto!) and the deserts were just the cherry on top.The manager on for the night stopped by our table and checked in, which was a very nice touch.We are so happy we popped in here. Thank you so much for making our anniversary so special (which we hadn’t even mentioned in the reservation). Truly a 10/10 experience.

    Really nice new spot in the area. We ordered the lamb chops, shrimp, spinach pie and roasted peppers all of which we really enjoyed.     Taverna Veranda service overall was top tier and exceptional. It was a bit of a wait time even with a reservation but we were only waiting less than 10 mins which is understandable with how busy they get. But the hostess was very friendly and treated us amazing and once we were sat down our waiter Anthony was awesome! We felt very welcomed, he was very attentive to us and answered all of the questions we had about the menu in a understanding and patient manner! Food was delicious! So was the dessert too! My only slight complaint is that the music is a touch loud so most people are screaming at eachother.I had the lobster gyros as an app - amazing, would order 2 of these to make a main lolI had the lamb chops as the main - very well seasoned and presented. The potatoes were great as wellFor dessert I had the baklava- I was pretty full by this point so I ate the ice cream and one part of the pastry, but it was still good.I had one mixed drink, was a touch light on the alcohol. I could tell because I was drinking on an 8 hour empty stomach and I wasnt even Tipsy.Staff was very kind and attentiveI spent about 120 for one person on a 3 course meal.

    Place is ok. Food was good , but nothing special. Service was fast , but seems to be a bit rushed. Cocktails were ok too, but again nothing to brag about. Coffee was bad , we have ordered chocolate lava cake for desert and it was meh. 😒. Solid 3.5 stars. Ambience is okish, music was too loud. I don’t think we will coming back soon . Maybe in the summer it’s nicer since they have a deck outside.

    This place is very highly recommended. The restaurant and staff really helped me plan my engagement to my girl. Such a great place and atmosphere to be in. We had a reservation at 12:30pm and there were maybe 2-3 other tables, but by the time we left it definitely filled up.Service was prompt and was checked up on throughout our meal. I was going to order the chicken kebab, but it came with rice - I asked to substitute with salad, but the waitress said they didn’t do substitutions to keep “the integrity of the dish”. Which led me to order the best possible thing on the brunch menu - Veranda style eggs Benedict. Perfectly poached eggs on top of seared mushrooms and.. SPINACH PIE. I may be biased because I’m a sucker for spinach pies, but it really was the perfect combo.We also got the Marouli salad, really light and refreshing with the touch of dill. However, it was a bit too salty for our taste.

    My wife and I came up from Jersey City for a date night and it was outstanding. We shared the lobster gyros and Greek salad. The gyros are a must have!     I was really impressed with the service from the waiters and hostess on 9/8/2024 at around 5pm. My friend and I were seated outside on the deck. This incredibly rude family came right up to our table and started taking pictures for 15-20 minutes. They were loud and obnoxious, so much so that we couldnt enjoy our meal. They were literally 8inches from me; their kid was so close to my chair I couldnt move without hitting her. The waitress saw this happening and swooped into action. She politely came over, apologized (even though it wasnt her fault!) and brought us to an even better table. Then, the hostess and another waiter came over and apologized as well, asking if there was anything we could do. We told them we appreciated them moving us and they we are totally fine!Its tough as a waiter when one guest is being tactless to another! You need to treat both parties with kindness. I think the team here did a great job. Very professional, very friendly.

    We had planned to go to nearby, reliably good, Seak, but decided to stop in at Veranda to check it out. The ambiance is lovely and the food was excellent—although, a bit pricy. $24 for a glass of wine seems a bit high for a restaurant in a strip mall in NJ—even if it’s on the Hudson. Many restaurants in the area don’t make it because, quite frankly, often the food isn’t good or it’s just ok. This place won’t disappoint food wise—you can expect an excellent meal, whatever you order. It’s probably one of, if not the best place in the area for an excellent meal. But the price point for many may be too high. We need more places in the area where folks can come in often, and pop in for a quick drink and a lite bite at the end of the day. I couldn’t help noticing how many tables weren’t “drinking.” Perhaps it’s because $24 for a glass of wine is a tad too much. Or, maybe because people aren’t drinking as much! Either way, I highly recommend you check it out. You won’t be disappointed. Bon Appetite.

    Ok so we wanted to try something new since weve been doing our regular spots for a while. We didnt know what we wanted to eat, and I remember that I saw when this place was being built and was always curious. I searched the name and decided to just make reservation and see what would happen.This is an amazing New place in Edgewater and we loved it. The food is insanely good, the service is amazing and we just loved. We will be returning on the regular because we fell in love with the location, the views and the people. WOW WOW WOW!

    This energetic bistro with a pub vibe features Greek cuisine, wines and cocktails with views of the Upper West Side. Reservations were easy using Google Maps API with Resy. Parking is no issue in Edgewater. We arrive early to find a lively bar. An attentive bartender offered a generous pour of Greek sparkling rose and made an excellent vodka martini. We were offered use of an adjacent table in the dining room that was free for the moment - a high top. In its dining spaces, Veranda offers a casual environment, tables and chairs are wooden and spaced comfortably yet close. We shared a saganaki appetizer which was excellent. We enjoyed a premium Greek white wine by the glass that reminded us of Sancerre (and was priced above) Our entrees lamb burger and swordfish looked appetizing, were well portioned and satisfying. We shared a lava cake dessert. Overall it was a good experience. Kudos to the team: we had a nice welcome at reception, the attentive bar back and bartender and wait staff who helped us sit down were appreciated. Our server was new and well trained. It takes a team to deliver a good experience! When dining along the Hudson expect youthful energy, moderate to high levels of music and conversation, quality food, service and prices more in line with one might find in Manhattan. Give Veranda a try!

    Came here for brunch and had a great time. The ambience is beautiful and has stunning views of NYC skyline. The service is friendly. We had the crabcake sandwhich and the bread pudding French toast. Everything was delicious. My fave was the French toast. I cant wait to go back and Tru their great dinner options tok.
