Super quality seafood restaurant! The appetizers were also outstanding with many vegetarian options. If we didnt want to try the seafood main courses, wouldve been also equally satisfied with ordering a variety of the appetizers. Both the eggplant chips and the moussaka were really good, not too greasy, well flavored, and portions were sizable. So was the Greek salad. By the end of three appetizers we were pretty full! For the main the king shrimp wasnt as good and in fact a bit fishy. The lavraki whole fish was solid and very fresh and flavourful. Service was efficient and attentive. The dining setting was not as intimate like many NYC restaurants as its a big venue. Overall recommend for seafood

Visited during restaurant week, albeit early (~7pm) and on a cold Thursday, however it was very quiet. Atmosphere aside, the food was delicious, but it was served very quickly on hot plates which leads me to believe it’s reheated in an oven. Weirded me out a bit, but the food was delicious so no complaints there. Aside from the potatoes - they were a tad too hard for my liking.

This restaurant had amazing food. All six of us were impressed with the menu, quality and service. We were all surprised how generous the appetizers were, we were able to share. They were NOT like the usual NYC appetizers that are one bite wonders. The main courses did not disappoint. We were thrilled that we did not walk away still hungry. None of us had room for dessert. Definitely a find.

We came here for a graduation dinner with a group of 6 people and were seated right away with our reservation.The restaurant is really huge and it definitely can fit large parties including weddings, etc. They have several areas that can seat a lot of guests on 2 floors.The service was nice and the food came out pretty quickly. Decent flavor, but not enough to wow us. The portions were really small for the amount of money that you are paying. Most dishes were $35-45.3.5 out of 5 stars but I bumped them up because they were super nice and gave us a complimentary dessert platter as congratulations.

Thalassa is a great restaurant for special occasions! The service is always fantastic, specifically Antonia at the bar. She made us the best drinks and treated us like family. The rest of the waiter team is also great, they even gave us extra on some of the food we ordered, as well as provided a platter of complementary dessert for my dad’s birthday. The food is also a hit- lamb chops, fresh fish, and the best Greek spreads! Overall- definitely don’t miss this spot! We come each year for at least one occasion and it’s always excellent!

Fantastic experience: beautifully presented dishes, fresh sea food, and amazing service. Our host Santiago was attentive, warm and professional. The ambience is sophisticated without being at all stuffy.As mentioned the food was wonderful - especially the scallops wrapped in phyllo and the octopus (which was so tender, did not require teeth to chew).

Hubby and I were given a Pulsd voucher gift that we almost forgot and was about to expire the very same day so we decided to call in and was accommodated in an hour. I also realized that this place wasnt only in my Bookmarks but that Ive been wanting to check it as a potential venue for both work and personal event, so was able to hit two birds in one stone last Friday.Upon entering, I was impressed by the overall design and vibe of the place. Really spacious too, had a second floor space and a wine cellar, on top of the regular space. Hostess was friendly and checked our coats right away then led us to a nice table. Gabriel, whos one of the Supervisors, also introduced himself and attended to us wonderfully throughout the night.For appetizers, hubby had the fish tacos which he said was delicious! And I had the grilled octopus which was so fresh, tender, and honestly the best that Ive had. Perfectly executed! Gave my compliments to the Chef. For the main entree, I had the red snapper fillet and my husband had seabass. Both really satisfying! One thing that really made an impression on me is they have their fresh seafood on display and supposedly flown in from the Mediterranean. How amazing is that?As for dessert, I wouldnt have given in but since it was included, I couldnt resist even having 2 bites of their Panna Cotta with caramelized pear and berries. My goodness I wanted more but had to restrain myself. Husband had the baklava and got to enjoy the complimentary dessert tray that the Chef sent over. Lucky him!After I asked to see the upper space and wine cellar, I have already noted this as a potential venue. Not just for clients but for some personal events too. What won me over was not just the space, but more of the warm attentive service and fantastic food! Happy to have met their Executive Chef Ralpheal and was able to compliment him personally on how delicious everything was, especially the octopus! Id be back just for that!Overall, such a great dining experience. Thanks for taking such good care of us! I believe well be back sooner. Cannot wait! :)

Thalassa is Exceptional in each and every way! The decor blows you away as you step into a nautical dining experience. Thalassa means “the sea” and you feel like you are on a journey traveling through the Mediterranean. The Grilled Lavraki (Mediterranean Seabass) or any of the main course fish dinners is amazing. Grilled to perfection and healthily delicious. We are biased because we love seafood, the Greek islands, and the amazing staff at Thalassa. Ask for Gio or Fausto who will give you a supreme fine dine service. A hello to the world famous Chef Ralpheal is a must and of course if by chance like me you run into the owner or his family please say Thank you for having this gem of a place and providing an exotic escape in the jungle of concrete. Thalassa is perfect for everyone and even more so for lovers. Look we know if you come to Thalassa with your heart on your sleeve and let the Sea take you on a journey you will not regret. I have had friends having their weddings here, corporate events, and or just friendly gatherings. Believe me this place rocks and all because of their staff and their detail to an amazing and a worldly experience. Tell them you have to try the zucchini chips, the molten chocolate cake and most importantly tell them that you are looking to escape to a Greek island of awesome!! We love Thalassa and thank you for everything. We always have a fantastic time! They won’t let you down if you don’t let them. Efkharisto!!

I had an extraordinary dinner experience at Thalassa Restaurant. Chef Ralpheals appetizers, especially the crispy zucchini & eggplant chips with tzatziki and SPANAKOPITA, were delectable. The organic Greek salad and Mediterranean tacos with bronzino were equally delightful. The lightly fried calamari was out of this world.The main course was outstanding with the perfectly cooked RIB EYE STEAK, oven-baked lobster with pasta, and Loup de Mer. The flavors were exceptional.For dessert, the chocolate soufflé and panna cotta with caramelized pear and berries were heavenly.The cocktails by Antonia and the impeccable service by Kimberly made the dining experience even more enjoyable. It was a pleasant surprise when Chef Ralpheal himself came to say hello. Thalassa Restaurant truly exceeded my expectations, and I cant wait to return for another delightful meal.

Incredible experience! This place is extra special. Beautifully presented inspired, fresh, delicious food served in a sophisticated ambiance. We came for a quiet double birthday celebration. We started with ordering most of the appetizers to share and each was better than the other. Special mention to the kataifi scallops - the texture and flavor was fabulous. I am not usually a fan of octopus but this octopus was the most tender I have ever had (they have a secret to preparing it that you won’t believe) and I would eat it again and again. The fish was very fresh and prepared perfectly. Cheese board was on point and deserts were all excellent. The service was attentive and friendly. Peter the manager was charming and delightful. I can’t wait to return to Thalassa. 😘

Wow! The food was amazing and the service was top notch! My mother at the end of the meal had asked if she could purchase the olive oil it was that good. On our way out, the staff presented us with cookies, mineral water, and two bottles of their olive oil - all at no charge. What a great experience. We will definitely be back - very soon I hope!

We were near Central Park and was searching for a place to eat dinner at around 9pm as we had finished shopping late. Thalassa seemed like a good place from reviews, and was open late on a Saturday night. We decided to take to trip down to Thalassa and I am so glad we did. Everything was spectacular in the restaurant. From the welcoming, from the ambient atmosphere, from the waiters, from the servers, from the serving, from the bathroom, from the general mood and cleanliness of the entire area. The food above all was beyond excellent. We ordered the scallops kataifi and calamari for appetizers, and I wholly recommend the scallops. It has to be the best appetizer I have ever had. For entrée, I had the seafood thalassina and it was also very good. For desserts, we ordered two baklava and one walnut cake, which both come in four pieces for sharing. I loved the baklava because it felt very fresh! Keep up the good work, Thalassa.

Outstanding service, friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Excellent atmosphere, quiet and elegant. Very good food, specializing in fresh fish, simply prepared. The lamb shank was delicious and perfectly cooked. Artistic presentations, and delicious panna cotta with fresh fruit for dessert. They have a very nice function room in the basement, too. Definitely highly recommended!

We had a wonderful birthday dinner at Thalassa. They decorated the table with Happy birthday Balloon, the food was delicious and they offered several bottles of sweet wine at the end. Service was outstanding, very nice staff, we had dedicated waiters, they took pictures of us with profesional light and they gave to each of us (~20) a bottle of water and oliv oil as a gift. I will for sure go back and I totally recommend this place for any event.

Looking for something unexpectedly romantic that takes you to a land of azure waters and lots of white sails billowing in the breeze, then you have come to the right place in Tribeca. The decor and food are Greek, and the bar is inviting. The blue lighting and canvas sails in areas accentuate the connection to its very roots. The food here is fantastic. We had a lovely luncheon where the waiter made our selections. So fresh Romaine salad and Bronzino fish was the order for the day. The fish was carefully deboned, sweet and delicate. For dessert, we enjoyed the Yogurt Sundae with honey and nuts. Believe me, if all yogurt could taste like this the shelves would be bare. Indeed, this is the most delightful place to enjoy a meal.

I came here for dinner on a Friday evening. The restaurant was fairly empty probably because of its location. Its really far west in Tribeca and pretty out of the way. We ordered the fish tacos and the lamb shank. Both dishes were very tasty and fresh. The service was great. They offered us an amuse bouche - one bite crab cake that was delicious. Also, after our meal, we were offered dessert wine. The prices were high but its NYC so I didnt think it was more than any other restaurant in Tribeca. I would return but its pretty far out of the way of any subway trains.

Letting you in on the best kept secret - Thalassa is the BEST New York City wedding venue you could ever have. My husband and I got engaged in October 2020 and started to look at venues in the spring when the city started to open back up after the winter. We wanted a NYC wedding, but we found it difficult to find a space we were happy with and for a fair price. We envisioned a cocktail style reception but wanted to ensure there was PLENTY of food. Our priorities were good food, good drinks and good people. Thalassa delivered on all of this. Chef Ralpheal made it happen for us. His dedication to make our event the best, does not go unnoticed. Working with the manager Peter, was as easy as could be and he was flexible with our last minute changes and request. We were able to contact him directly (as well as the Chef) for whatever we needed and the night ran so smoothly under his care. We worked with them both on the menu and floorpan to cater to our vision. When does that ever happen anymore? The restaurant is family owned and you can feel that. We truly felt like we were family there the way we were cared for and the attention to detail they had for our event. Thalassa doesn’t have “we can’t” in their vocabulary. It’s truly old school New York family style care. They took our vision and brought it to life and we walked away with the best night. Our friends and family raved about the restaurant and food. We utilized the entire restaurant, wine cellar and main floor and it was truly perfect. We look forward to celebrating our anniversary there for years to come and we can’t thank them enough for their care, efforts and genuine nature. I’m telling you now, you will not find a better venue and value (yes, believe it) and they will make your night one of the best of your life! Thank you Thalassa with all our hearts. PS - they are obviously amazing for just a dinner too :) dont wait for a wedding to visit.

Its fancy, a little over the top in the decorations, weird lighting, and women in 6 stilettos and neon green gowns whisk in and out. Its all slightly awkward feeling, which is 100% authentic! If youre uncomfortable being waited on by top notch people pleasers and get really good food to boot, this is not the place for you. The wine list is extensive. Try something Angean!
