This is a hip little rooftop bar with great views, strong unique drinks and great small bites. Service is quick and friendly. I recommend making a reservation if you want to sit. The tables fill up fast in the evening for happy hour. Tuna tacos, guacamole and Flatbread were all well prepared and delicious. Cocktails have fresh juice and allow you to select your preferred liquor. This has become a favorite place to wind down at the end of a busy day! -

I had the most amazing time here! Charlotte was the highlight of the night for me. She was great at keeping the drinks coming as well as giving us water. I highly recommend coming here and asking for Charlotte! -

This place is a wonderful rooftop bar! 🍸 The Freehold Rooftop inside the Pod 39 Hotel 🏨 offers great views 🪟 of NYC 🗽 and serves a nice selection of drinks and cocktails! 🍹 Definitely get their Apple Cider Bourbon Cocktail!🥃 The place is beautifully decorated 🛋️ and the ambience 🎶 is fantastic! The staff 👨🍳 is super friendly and the service is quick. ⏲️ I wish I came here earlier and more often! -
Review 4 (2019-11-05 - Rating: 4)
The staff was great here. Very nice and accommodating. The margarita was a bit heavy on the sour mix. The guacamole was good and shareable. Might need two helping though. Brussels sprouts are a must have and the tacos are just ok, some tasted a bit a bit bland but you get good portions. -
Review 5 (2024-05-23 - Rating: 5)
Best roof top in New York!! The bartender Charlotte made an incredible Hugo spritz. And the pina colada wow! Never had better! Great atmosphere the flowers and brick on a sunny day amazing! -
Review 6 (2024-09-14 - Rating: 5)
We were in town for a wedding, and this was the place where they hosted a pre-wedding celebration. The atmosphere was exciting, and regardless of the large crowd, the servers did an amazing job. Everyone had such an amazing and memorable time. -
Review 7 (2024-05-25 - Rating: 4)
Amazing rooftop, the pina was the perfect consistency - so delicious. The lobster roll sliders were underwhelming. -
Review 8 (2024-05-07 - Rating: 5)
Have visited a couple times successfully. The only bad was that I failed in two other attempts because they closed at least 1-2 hours before closing time. I know places can be slow but it becomes a self-fulfilling downward projection if customers do not want to chance it and go elsewhere. James is great as a bartender. He was too busy for just one for a while but he handled it well. On another visit, bartender Josh was friendly and made great drinks. -
Review 9 (2024-06-15 - Rating: 4)
Stumbled upon this little rooftop in midtown and honestly loved it. The rooftop doesn’t make you feel like you’re in NYC though you get the whole skyline. Drinks and food were standard midtown Manhattan quantity, quality, and prices. But for the views, sunset, and ambience, would choose this place over most other rooftops any day. Also it’s often not super crowded! -
Review 10 (2024-05-06 - Rating: 5)
Absolutely loved the Allerton rooftop experience! The ambiance was unbeatable – think cozy seating, twinkling lights, and panoramic views of the city skyline. And lets talk about the drinks – expertly crafted cocktails that perfectly complemented the lively vibe. Cant wait to return for another memorable evening! -
Review 11 (2024-05-04 - Rating: 5)
Had such a great time at this bar. The entire team was incredible and the atmosphere is perfect if you’re looking to have a good time with friends and watch some games. Special shoutout to the bartender Charlotte; those M&M shots were surprisingly delicious. Definitely my go to spot for the summer -
Review 12 (2022-08-04 - Rating: 5)
Very cool bar and atmosphere! Good food/, snacks and an amazing view! Staff was fun and friendly with all the people. Stop by try this place out! -
Review 13 (2017-10-05 - Rating: 4)
Tiny tacos! would only go back for the atmosphere. The rooftop is very nicely decorated and lovely for pictures. Better as a bar than a restaurant -
Review 14 (2024-05-18 - Rating: 5)
Great happy hour, amazing views. This is really a Manhattan gem. Great and friendly bartenders too! Recommended for after work beers or a pregame for a good night out. Charolette is particularly a standout bartender. -
Review 15 (2018-12-29 - Rating: 5)
Jonathan made the best modified Mezcal he added blood orange and extra spice to my preference. We also had great tacos and shots. This spot was the perfect vibe. Also as visitors to the city he gave some great recommendations for places to visit. Thanks!!! -
Review 16 (2024-06-15 - Rating: 4)
Great vibe and views, especially if you can snag a table. The elevator is in the lobby of the hotel, the staff will help you find the rooftop. -
Review 17 (2019-09-06 - Rating: 4)
Very nice rooftop bar with a great view. The drinks are payable and good. -
Review 18 (2024-04-16 - Rating: 5)
Cocktails here are top notch. Bartenders all good but the stand out was James. Made a great night for my friends and I on our visit to New York -
Review 19 (2019-08-14 - Rating: 5)
Authentic Mexican food (and drinks) that gives solice to the hustle and bustle of NY. Great atmosphere to accompany the amazing dishes that is served in no time at all. -
Review 20 (2018-06-21 - Rating: 4)
Free view of the city from a roof top bar. Didn’t end up trying the drinks since they were $14 for a mixed drink and $9 for a beer. Maybe this is normal for NYC? 4 stars for the view, but the roof top was crowded and partially roped off. -
Review 21 (2019-09-02 - Rating: 4)
Great spot for a drink with a view, but my margarita was not great. We were there before 4pm on a Sunday and there was plenty of space. It started to get more crowded after 4. -
Review 22 (2024-07-07 - Rating: 5)
I went just for drinks and the place is really cool! I recomend the Hugo Spritz 👌🏼 -
Review 23 (2023-06-02 - Rating: 5)
All great experience. I brought a friend whos visiting the city and none of us was disappointed. Drinks were strong but tasted good. Food was great. Service was amazing. Wonderful views too and not super crowded so you can find a place to sit. -
Review 24 (2023-12-15 - Rating: 5)
I went for a holiday party towards the back of the venue. The space was lively and filled with people who knew how to have a good time. Come here if you’re looking to relax and enjoy yourself. The space is decorated beautifully, and I do want to go back! -

Cool rooftop bar with great drinks. Nice place to chill with friends. -
Review 26 (2023-07-23 - Rating: 5)
Super chill rooftop vibes. Perfect for summer drinks with friends where you can actually have a conversation because it’s neither too loud or too crowded. Even on super hot day everywhere felt cool & shaded without impeding on skyline city views -
Review 27 (2024-05-04 - Rating: 5)
Beautiful space and some of the best views in the city, so cute!! Fast and friendly service at the bar, great food and happy hour turned into a whole evening spent at the rooftop! Will def come back with friends next time for a sports game since there was a lot of tvs downstairs. -
Review 28 (2023-12-19 - Rating: 5)
Had an absolute time at Allerton, Eric made us feel so warm and welcome here. The bar is lovely, and everyone makes you feel special. Will always come here for a drink, some wings, and the company. -
Review 29 (2024-05-04 - Rating: 5)
Came by on a Friday evening, not sure what to expect. The rooftop bar view is beautiful. Seeing the sunset while having a great cocktail, cant be beat. Tried the Skyline Passion cocktail, as a passion fruit lover, amazing! Service at the bar was fast and amazing. The bartender behind the bar was busy, but fast with getting out drinks done and was super sweet. Definitely coming back. -
Review 30 (2024-06-03 - Rating: 5)

Loves the rooftop! And restaurant had a great atmosphere. Would highly recommend!! -
Review 34 (2024-09-21 - Rating: 5)
One of the better spots in Manhattan. Always a great atmosphere. We were lucky enough to get Charlotte as well. Who couldn’t have been more accommodating to me and my family. A breath of fresh air. Highly recommend! -
Review 35 (2024-09-26 - Rating: 5)
This place was beautiful! Met with a friend and her friends and the vibe was immaculate. The cocktails were phenomenal. I fell in love with a server there. She liked my Anthony Bourdain shirt. That’s immaculate taste right there. -
Review 36 (2019-09-20 - Rating: 4)
A lovely place (which used to be Salvation Taco). We had the nachos, which were incredibly good. The waiter had been working there for years while it was still Salvation Taco, in the transition, and loves what they are now. Said everything now is made on premise and they had higher quality ingredients and drinks. We experienced nothing to suggest otherwise! -
Review 37 (2018-01-13 - Rating: 5)
Very nice service, great Mexican food! They have an area for private events and a lounge-comfy area with couches. I am going back! -
Review 38 (2022-06-21 - Rating: 4)
The drinks here were amazing. It was a little too crowded and the wait time was too long. But it was worth it. They restrict the number of people allowed to go to the rooftop. I would recommend getting a reservation before going with a large group. -
Review 39 (2023-08-12 - Rating: 5)
Great place to relax after a long day and the place has lovely views -
Review 40 (2024-04-17 - Rating: 5)
Spent a great evening here with some colleagues, the wings were great and James the bartender made a great White Russian. As an Austrian friend of mine would say… I’LL BE BACK!!! 👍👍👍🍹🍹🍹 -
Review 41 (2023-08-24 - Rating: 5)
Amazing service and cocktails! Got an Hugo Spritz and tried out the pickle martini which is a must try!! Matt the bartender went above and beyond, we will definitely be back. -
Review 42 (2016-06-16 - Rating: 4)
Interesting, eclectic food and drink. Everything was good - the guacamole was very fresh and simple - really just mashed perfect avocados and not overloaded with other ingredients. The cocktail was complex with a bit of heat. The taco (pork belly, pigs ears, ...) was also a nice, complex combination of flavors and textures that worked well together. The bar was loud and raucous, a millennial vortex. The menu linked to from Google Maps is not current or accurate. I had hoped to be able to sample several different tacos, but they now only come in full dinner-sized portions of 3 of the same taco. Thats disappointing, as there were many interesting things I wanted to sample on the menu. And the menu is not as eclectic now as it was when the Google version was published. But its still a nice find, if also a bit more expensive. Such is the price of success I guess. -
Review 43 (2023-11-27 - Rating: 5)
Love love this place!!!! The drinks are always amazing and the shishito peppers are always delicious. Their winter menu is super cute. -
Review 44 (2024-09-22 - Rating: 5)
This is THE BEST place to watch football in the city. Charlotte gave us outstanding service and conversation!! will 100% be back and have recommended to friends . -
Review 45 (2018-07-10 - Rating: 5)
Great tacos for decent prices in a dimly lit bar-atmosphere type of place. It was quiet since we came at 15, and they close the kitchen for two hours at 16:00, and that made it very pleasant and quiet for us. Ordered micheladas and beer with our tacos, and overall it was just great. -
Review 46 (2023-08-28 - Rating: 5)
I visited with a friend, and I must say, the service was truly top-notch. We loved the aesthetically pleasing ambiance. To start, we got the charcuterie board, which had a side of jelly – it was such a delightful combination. I ordered the lobster roll, while my friend enjoyed the steak dip sandwich. Both dishes were delicious. For drinks, I had the Fig Boulevardier made by Matt and the Calabrian Chili Martini made by Julian. Both cocktails were incredibly tasty, we couldn’t get enough. The bartenders really know their stuff, and their friendly vibe just added to the fun. The entire team made sure we were feeling good and totally satisfied throughout our meal. We’re already talking about a round two – this place left us seriously impressed! -
Review 47 (2024-09-21 - Rating: 5)
Beautiful rooftop bar! Make sure you ask for Charlotte if she’s there :) best bartender I know!! Outstanding food as well -
Review 48 (2017-09-08 - Rating: 5)
This was surprisingly one of the best Mexican restaurants I have been to in NY. Actually, maybe the best. I was surprised because I got there late and it is a bar also. But the food was fresh, tasty, and creative. I had the tacos, salad, guacamole and salsa. The food was loaded with bright fresh veggies, fresh squeezed lime, and cilantro. The service was also very good. Friendly and attentive, they even brought us food after the kitchen closed. Make sure you go here if you are in the area and love fresh and contemporary Mexican! -
Review 49 (2023-12-19 - Rating: 5)
Lovely, warm but vibrant and fun vibe, super friendly bar staff and amazing specials. Come for the wing and Peroni deals and you’ll definitely come back. -
Review 50 (2023-08-25 - Rating: 5)
Great new spot to grab a drink and light bites. The service was spot on even though its a new place. I ordered the Whiskey Bramble Collins from Matthew and it hit the spot! Will return -
Review 51 (2017-05-20 - Rating: 5)
Perfectly sized lunch for eating between your stops. Food was tasty as all get out. Try the churros and chocolate - its amazing. The limeade I picked up on the way out was super refreshing. The music and atmosphere are super chill as well. -
Review 52 (2024-04-30 - Rating: 5)
Cant recommend this place enough! Shoutout to the bartender James who took the time out of his very busy night to chat to us and give us some recommendations of places to see for the rest of our stay, legend! -
Review 53 (2018-01-24 - Rating: 5)
Had dinner for a bachelorette weekend here. We chose to do the prix fixe menu, which was a little pricey, but worth it. The food was so delicious and we had an entire room in the lounge next to the restaurant to ourselves. The staff was also very attentive throughout the night. -
Review 54 (2023-07-05 - Rating: 5)
Friendly bartenders, fair priced drinks, cocktails made by hand, and if it’s hot, they have frozen margaritas! Also lots of spots to be in the sun or shade. There were some grandparents here as well as college she people and everyone seemed to be enjoying the views on the 4th of July. -
Review 55 (2017-03-07 - Rating: 4)
Way different than expected - in a real good way. Connected to a budget hotel, and decked out in a quasi-authentic Mexican street decor (complete with prayer candles on the tables), high tops, couches, and buzzing lights. The staff is polite and competent, and the menu and food is varied, but offers really tasty, small-sized portions of tacos. The tacos themselves are not really traditional - there are mixed combinations of fillings from meat, chicken and vegetables with spices from all over (theres chicken tinga, braised steak, lamb, fish and mayo, etc.) and these things are addictive. The bar menu is filled with reliable tequila cocktails, and pitchers - but I really enjoyed the michelada (a spicy tomato drink with beer), and the whiskey cocktails. Overall, its a fun spot to hang out and eat and drink for as long as you want. Theres a rooftop open in the warmer months. -
Review 56 (2019-05-17 - Rating: 5)
I really enjoyed my experience at Al Pastor. The Al pastor tacos were delightful. Hands down best margaritas Ive had in a while! I also loved the ambiance and service. Great place for eats and drinks! -
Review 57 (2024-10-19 - Rating: 5)
Fun rooftop, great food and drinks, except the Aperol Spritz which wasnt properly dosed. -
Review 58 (2024-05-05 - Rating: 5)
Love a good rooftop! Great drinks, great staff. Will definitely be back -
Review 59 (2013-09-14 - Rating: 5)
Just went to this rooftop location for a birthday party and fell in love. The outdoor space has amazing architecture and I hope they find a way to utilize it over the winter. The guacamole was a great snack to tide people over. I had the La Palomita, which is a great alternative for people who do not drink tequila. Get it without the vanilla lime salt though, its unnecessary and sticky! -
Review 60 (2017-05-13 - Rating: 4)
The location is nice, and access to the rooftop with stunning views is a plus. But the food is insanely overpriced for the portions. $10(+ tax and tip) for 2 small tacos with no sides. $12 for 1/2 a cup of mediocre guac. Meh.Come for the rooftops views. Not the food. -
Review 61 (2015-09-04 - Rating: 5)
Came here after finding out the rooftop bar upstairs was full. Once I moved past the irony of being here on a date with a Latina girl (at her suggestion) I started to quite like the place. The beers were great and I had a delicious lamb wrap, the exact name of which now escapes me.We visited there on a Wednesday night and the only downside was the place was pretty crowded early on. -
Review 62 (2015-04-07 - Rating: 4)
Amazing fusion mexican. Never really had taco with kimchi before but guess what? It works. The bartenders are super friendly and the atmosphere. Board games and ping pong tables for entertainment definitely helps. Get crazy crowded on the Thurs-Sat especially when the rooftop is opened in the warmer weather but overall love this place! -
Review 63 (2016-03-07 - Rating: 5)
This was a great find. Was in town for business and this was recommended by my client. Great little ( expensive) taco place. Expect to pay for quality, but it is worth it. I ordered some tacos and had the fly by night to drink. Frank, the bartender in the back, gave some great food and drink recommendations. I plan on going back the next time I am in NYC. -
Review 64 (2016-08-23 - Rating: 4)
Cool spot, rooftop is amazing. Food is great depending on what you order. Guacamole is way too small for the price. Slighlty over priced but entries are big 2+ can eat but $42 plus. Their lamb is amazing! Our waiter wasnt that great but thats hit or miss. -
Review 65 (2024-09-08 - Rating: 5)
Rooftop: outstanding architecture, decent seating optionsBar: probably the best spot in the city to watch US Open tennis 🎾. Good burger -
Review 66 (2020-02-09 - Rating: 5)
Great hotel bar. Atmosphere was really nice - had been wanting to visit for awhile, so popped in for a quick drink. We were disappointed that the rooftop bar was closed (seasonal) but went to the lobby bar instead. Wasn’t super busy during weekend happy hour which was nice. Margarita was very good and service was polite. -
Review 67 (2013-11-14 - Rating: 4)
The atmosphere at this bar/restaurant makes it a great lunch time drinking or happy hour spot. Some specialty drinks are hit and miss and food servings are on the smaller end, but overall it is a great spot to try out. When going with a group during their busy hours be the hero by ordering a pitcher of margaritas. -
Review 68 (2024-09-14 - Rating: 5)
Great rooftop with views of the city. I really enjoyed the service and atmosphere of the space. -
Review 69 (2016-09-25 - Rating: 5)
If you love Mexican style tacos, you will definitely enjoy salvation army. Little wind to figure out how to get on the wait list. Drinks are solid and strong. Sort of pricey for tacos but is definitely worth it. -
Review 70 (2016-06-27 - Rating: 5)
Great rooftop bar but they can be a little strict with the line and number of people they allow up there so get in early. Their Palomita cocktail is delicious, refreshing, and dangerously easy to put back. -
Review 71 (2017-06-20 - Rating: 5)
Perfect place to step away from the city without leaving it. Food and drinks were on point. -
Review 72 (2013-05-07 - Rating: 5)
This is the most exciting opening of the year for us - a great place to hang out at weekends, at night or grab a quick lunchtime bite, the friendly staff are happy to advise on anything. The ague frescas are delicious, especially the pineapple, and all the small plates are delicious. Best of all you can work it all off at one of two table tennis tables at the back. -

Great vibes, great drinks! Honestly the best pina coladas ever. Really recommend checking this spot out -
Review 77 (2016-07-01 - Rating: 4)
Great looking place with small but very tasty tacos. This isnt the normal cheap mexican food which is either good or bad depending on what you want. I will return to enjoy some tacos and then drinks on the roof. -
Review 78 (2018-03-15 - Rating: 5)
Carnitas tacos are delicious!!!! Not too spicy but soooo tasty 😋The chilian sangria is also very good, easy too drink fast.Decor is great too, staff are very nice too.Would recommend!!!! -
Review 79 (2013-08-27 - Rating: 4)
A fun, discreet Mexican fusion spot near Grand Central with lots of great food and drink at a reasonable price. Grab a tasty margaritas lined with chili salt to go with your chips and freshly made lime-infused guacamole, or perhaps an exuberant Horchata delivered in a Parrot cup that delivers a creamy yet subtle texture. Of course the experimental tacos are hard to resist also, with variants like Moroccan Lamb on Naan or Korean Beef with kimchi being the stand-out winners. However dont expect substitutions since everything on the menu is prepared as is stated on the menu. Also, the crowd can tend to be filled with an overwhelming amount obnoxious tourists flooding in from the hotel next door, but its not enough to deter from the delicious food.Bottom line: All in all, a solid Mexican joint with divergent flavors that stands out compared to the monotony of other similarly themed restaurants in the city (looking at you Dos Caminos). -

Cool view and people. good drinks and food. loved it! -
Review 81 (2019-12-17 - Rating: 5)
Second time I’ve been here for a company event. Great spaces, good margaritas (enjoyed several cucumber margaritas). The munchies we had were good too, beef on a stick, nachos with beef and chicken quesadillas. Our waitress was fantastic. -

Margaritas are good. Theres a low key rooftop bar. Food is really good. But portions are small for the price you pay. -
Review 85 (2022-07-14 - Rating: 4)
The view from their rooftop is quite great! We went as a group of around 15 people for an office get together with a reserved private space . Their guacamole, chips and tacos were pretty good . Music was good but a little loud making it a bit difficult to listen to anyone else talking . Nice experience overall! -
Review 86 (2022-09-02 - Rating: 4)

Nice and quite roof top. Not big and no great views but nice place to chill.... -
Review 89 (2024-06-05 - Rating: 4)
This neighborhood gem is perfect for a rooftop experience under the NY skyline. We went at 4:30 on a weekday for a business drink and it was quiet for 30 mins til the after work happy hour crowd filled up. Fun vibe and views regardless. One thing that we didn’t appreciate was the sneaky 20% gratuity added to the bill so beware before you tap the 7%, 5%, or 3% tip option on the payment screen. You’ll be paying a 27%, 25%, or 23% tip if you do. While the auto tip addition is noted on the menu (the bartender explained), it’s easy to miss. The on-screen bill you sign omits that important info. Not cool. -
Review 90 (2016-10-13 - Rating: 4)
I love the ambiance here. Ping ping tables, tacos, Mexican theme (obvs), elevators going up to pod 39. Tacos and quesadillas are decent. Beer selection and cocktails are both above average. -
Review 91 (2016-01-26 - Rating: 4)
The carnitas and lamb roti taco were delicious. The place has a relaxed atmosphere. The menu is anything but standard for a taco place, but everything is executed well that it works. -
Review 92 (2018-12-30 - Rating: 5)

This place is alright. I tried the beer battered fish tacos and they were alright. I was there for lunch and place was almost empty. Good luck, finding a standing space at dinner time though. -

We had the most wonderful time on the rooftop here. Truly a one of a kind spot in NYC! Charlotte was our bartender on the roof and she was just the best. Quick service, great drinks, delicious food and such a cozy atmosphere! Would definitely recommend this spot to both locals and visitors -
Review 99 (2018-06-18 - Rating: 5)
Sacrilegious! The Classic Margarita on the rocks is refreshing, made to perfection with freshly squeezed limes. The guacamole garnished with cilantro and slices of jalapeño made my tastebuds dance while the grilled beef tostada with grilled radicchio onion jam made a believer out of me. I love the presence of the Virgin Mary and Catholicism in this house of taco praise. -

I don’t review a lot but I simply have to compliment James and his wonderful team. They are running a great show here at The Allerton. We had a range of cocktails, and lovely small bites in the bar. It’s a lovely spot to get away from the busy streets below! 5/5! -

Great ambiance with a lot of space, salvation, and tacos. The food is average as well as the service but the space at the bar and the ping pong tables redeem Salvation Taco. -

If you can make it great on a nice weather day you will love the rooftop here. A bit pricey for their margaritas though. -

Rooftop season is among us and this one is definitely a must go to! Great atmosphere, drinks, and staff—especially the spicy Swiss master drink slanger behind the bar, she makes unreal cocktails! Be sure to ask for her. -

Salvation Taco is situated at the top of the Pod Hotel building. Its a great rooftop bar with plenty of seating and friendly staff.Drinks were about $13 per cocktail and food ranged from $6 (single taco) - $14.The views were great though there is no shade so beware all the seating being hot.My friend (pictured) and I enjoyed the experience and I recommend it for students and young people out for a drink. -

Just back from my lonesome trip away to the ol Big Apple, heh.Decided to check into the local bar for a drink after a long day of sightseeing. People always say that NYC is a scary place at night, but Im happy to say I found friendly places and friendlier drinks :)). The people behind the bar were quick with my orders (cool beers for a cool guy), very friendly and the guy James was a delight to deal with (complimented my fedora, heh) . It was nice to deal with workers of such high caliber and prestige, I felt like I had equal attention to the other customers. When I save up enough money from my book sales, I plan to head back to the City That Never Sleeps and go for another quaint experience at the lovely The Allerton. (Michelle if you see this you might have given me the wrong phone number because it doesnt work?) -

Can’t rave about this place enough!! You’ll definitely get lost in time with the beautiful views, great tunes, oysters and cocktails. Perfect spot after work, before a show, or date night. The menu is definitely light so don’t come for more than a bite. Tuna poke tacos and lobster roll are delicious. -

I always dread going to midtown because the lack of places to get both quality cocktails and food, however the Allerton Club is an oasis in Murray Hill! The petite martini & the smash burger are my idea of the perfect adult happy meal (theyre also on happy hour!). Dont miss out! -
