I’ve been living in NY for two years, I finally made it to this bar with my best friend who is visiting NY, and it was totally worth the night! The vibe is amazing, it’s classy, cozy, and perfect for hanging out with besties or a date night. Thanks to Justin, our bartender was super friendly and made custom drinks based on what we liked. Each one was spot-on and delicious. We even got some complimentary drinks, which was a nice touch!Definitely a place I’ll return to! Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a chill yet elegant spot to enjoy great drinks and good and vibes! -

Met some colleagues last minute here. Justin, the bartender extraordinaire, expertly guided us through the current and upcoming cocktail selections, transforming the experience into a delightful adventure.Stepping into The Campbell feels like crossing into another era, so rich is the history that surrounds you. The ambiance captivates you, and the drinks are nothing short of masterpieces. Truly, its an experience you must indulge in. -

The Campbell was recommended to me by a buddy, and it did not disappoint. The bartender, Tom, was an absolute pro, and made our journey through the different drinks on the menu & future menu a delight. The history of this place is so damn cool, and when you walk through the doors you are really transformed into a different time and place. The ambience is fantastic. The drinks were spectacular—overall a must try. -

Classy and cosy hidden cocktail bar just within Grand Central station. You would need some navigation to find this but so well worth the time and effort. Feels like everything just pauses for a moment when you are here because you are soaked into a very relaxed mood and atmosphere. The staff, bartender and waitress were all super professional and polite. Cocktail menu was also interesting with a good variety. There are sofa seatings for couples, big groups and bar counter seats as well. Reservations are recommended as it’s a small space and super popular too. Highly recommended if you are looking for some respite within the city for a nice alcoholic drink and some peace and quiet from the bustling crowd outside. Things just slows down a little here and you feel alot more comfortable. -

There is no place better to pop into than the Campbell, especially during the holidays. Our server (Justin) is always the kindest, funniest and most welcome host. Even after a year he remembered both me and my order! Between that and the live piano I am a patron for life. Happy holidays! -

This bar is one of the best kept secrets in NYC. Its a gem that is hard to find. You have to get out of the Grand Central station from the Campbells apartment exit and make a LEFT to the balcony level and then enter it from the outside. See my photo...If you are able to find it, you wont regret it. The food and drinks are great, and the service is excellent. And the staff is super nice giving superior service. -

Great little oasis away from the maddest andmarijuana smells of midtown NYC. Had a cheeky midday martini. Good cocktails, friendly service. Loved it 😊 -

One of the best bars in NYC. I enjoy every visit and I’m always impressed by not only the quantity of cocktails on their menu, but by how exceptionally good they are. Easily the best old fashioned in the city, and for those who like a fruit forward drink, please try The Sling. The bartenders are phenomenal. I couldn’t say a single poor thing about them if I wanted to. Everything they’ve recommended to me has been splendid. We visited on May 14th and were surprised by the gent in the blue coat who was acting like a bouncer. He immediately approached me and demanded I remove my cap, rather than saying please. Then, once my friend and I got our cocktails, we decided to sit at the table on the northwest corner of the room. The same gent in the blue coat then turned spicy and told us that “this is a communal table, we need to have a space separating the guests so that they can have a more intimate gathering”. What a load of garbage. A communal table is there for, ahem, the community patronizing your bar to sit; especially frustrating since the other four people at the table seemed happy to let us sit. It’s an elegant bar, not a social club. Please don’t enforce weird regulations for those who come to enjoy your atmosphere. -

Our absolute favorite spot in Midtown! Mellow, moody atmosphere, delicious cocktails and tasty snacks. The staff has gone above and beyond on both of our visits, particularly Tara B, who not only reserved us a great table, but gave us a list of some of her favorite places to visit. We just returned from our visit but already can’t wait to be back! -

Nestled within the iconic Grand Central Terminal, this historic bar and lounge offers a charming old-school rustic ambiance. Known for their excellent Negroni and Penicillin cocktails, the establishment boasts a limited but flavorful bar food menu. The attentive and speedy service adds to the appeal, though it tends to get especially crowded on Thursday nights. Arriving early or being prepared to wait for a spot inside is highly recommended. -

Justin was literally the BEST bartender we have have had. He made this experience the BEST bar experience in NYC! The BEST dirty martini I have EVER! Had! This place is legit the PLACE! To be! We have been to a few places in the city & this has been on our top list! ❤️🥰 -
Review 14 (2024-07-01 - Rating: 5)
Loved this place. The decor, the atmosphere, the service, the drinks.. Everything was top top notch. Kudos to the bartender. They have live music.Place gets a bit crowded at night. -
Review 15 (2024-12-30 - Rating: 4)
This spot stands out for its atmosphere, which is the main draw above all else. It’s truly one-of-a-kind and intriguing. While the drinks are decent, the steep prices do knock it down a notch. The food menu, however, is quite simple and rather peculiar, featuring items like olives, mini lobster rolls, and chocolate chip cookies—an odd mix, to say the least.Given its small size and tendency to get crowded, reservations are highly recommended. It’s not the kind of place you’d visit regularly, but its historical charm makes it worth a visit. -
Review 16 (2024-12-30 - Rating: 5)
For somewhere that many describe as hidden, it does get rather busy.We got lucky with timing and got what I would call the best seats in the house. At the end of the bar, watching the bar staff make the drinks.Super attentive staff, as soon as my partner closed the drinks menu “what can I get you both”. In a flash, drinks come back expertly made.I went for the Campbell Dirty Martini, normally I’m a gin, extra dry, straight up with a twist kinda guy. But occasionally a dirty martini is what’s required. I was not disappointed.Followed up with a Manhattan, when in Rome, right?Again a great cocktail! Loved every sip. -

A historical bar and lounge inside the Grand Central Terminal. They make a really good Negroni and Penicillin (ask for Ardbeg). The atmosphere is old school rustic. Food menu is limited to bar food but everything we tried was flavorful. The service is attentive and fast. The place gets really busy specially on a Thursday night, recommend waiting for a space inside. -

My husband and I have been planning our wedding at The Campbell since November of last year and we finally had our big day on Saturday! Tara helped us iron our every single detail for the day and was an incredible host during the event, working with all of our vendors seamlessly. The team at The Campbell made all of our dreams come true and all of our guests were in awe of the gorgeous historic charm the venue offered. We were able to host our ceremony, reception, and party all in the same place - which made for an incredible evening of intimate mixing and mingling with an iconic, glamorous New York landmark as our backdrop. Stepping into the space was like being transported into a vintage holiday wonderland. The drinks were fantastic, the food was perfect, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience. Everyone who attended said they would remember this night for the rest of their lives and we are so excited to celebrate future life moments and anniversaries at The Campbell. 11.23.24 was a dream come true 🤍 -
Review 21 (2023-12-22 - Rating: 4)
The Campbell is the quintessential speak-easy bar tucked away in a quiet corner of Grand Central Station. In fact, I have walked by the entrance countless times without realizing it was there. This is a place you go for the atmosphere over all other considerations. It is genuinely unique and interesting. The drinks are solid, but I did take a point off for their very expensive prices. The food choices are very basic and the menu is, honestly, a bit strange…. From olives to mini lobster rolls to chocolate chip cookies… huh?It is a small place, and it can get crowded, so best to make a reservation. It’s not an ‘everyday’ bar, but it’s worth checking out for the history. -

Nice vibe! Great location for a quick Georgette’s post work. It is right at the Grand Central station. Drinks were ok. We didn’t order food. -
Review 23 (2023-04-21 - Rating: 5)
Photos don’t do this place justice. Beautiful bar and lounge with a dark but warm atmosphere. Stopped in on a Monday after work and it was busy but still with space at the bar and a couple of tables open. I highly recommend stopping in and having a drink if you’re passing by Grand Central, however be prepared to pay $20 for a cocktail. Though I will say I had an Old Fashioned and it was worth the price. -

You would think that the highlights in New York should be the sights... During our stay, it was the Campbell Bar.Apart from the incredible cocktails, the bartender Justin was simply the best in the whole bar!Someone who must also be mentioned is Fred, he has contributed significantly to our well-being! Thank you for everything!Everyone was so welcoming, we got surprise cocktails & on top of that local tips for restaurants to visit! We were in New York for 7 days, 4 of which we spent our evenings at the Campbell, once we were even there twice! (As you can see, we were thrilled)A big thank you to the whole team for giving us an unforgettable stay!We will definitely see you next year! -

My company has hosted an annual cocktail event at The Campbell for the last 4 years and every year we are amazed at how much our clients and staff love the venue. Tara, the Events Manager is a pleasure to work with and she makes sure that everything is perfect for your event. The team of bartenders, bus boys and servers at The Campbell truly are hidden gems as they are so friendly and ensure that all guests are having an amazing time. The food is great, the ambiance is perfect, and you would not go wrong having a private event here! -
Review 26 (2024-03-12 - Rating: 5)
This was hands down the coolest 20’s era secret baller tycoon establishment I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting. Unassuming entrance through a side-door at grand central. The host was soooo lovely and sweet. She was able to seat my fiancé and I at a table with no reservation at 2:30PM on a Saturday.Just everything. The details, the Egyptian art deco wallpaper, the hand carved bar and furniture, the safe, the lighting, the history, the intrigue. The drinks are good but honestly not even why it’s so special. Just PERFECTION!!! Will prioritize visiting when I’m in NYC in future. -

Review 28 (2024-09-26 - Rating: 5)
Lovely, well hidden former speakeasy. Exquisite drinks and service, very much a dim light but very classy place. IYKYK! In summer they have a great outdoor space which can get quite loud, but still a great spot. Definitely a favorite for a quick or slow drink. Highly recommended! -

TOP (and for us) Hidden BAR at Grand Central Station. You need to search a little bit for the entrance but when youre in you will be suprised. Verry traditional an cool BAR in Vintage Design its inside darker as shown in my Pictures. Drinks was in upper Class (25$/Cocktail) but believe me you should visit, enjoy the atmosphere an have a perfect Cocktail/Drink verry much appreciated. -

Nestled within Grand Central Terminal, this historic bar and lounge exudes an old-school rustic charm. Known for crafting exceptional Negronis and Penicillins, it’s a go-to spot for classic cocktail enthusiasts. The food menu leans toward bar bites, but every dish we sampled was packed with flavor. Service is quick and attentive, ensuring a pleasant experience. However, it gets particularly crowded on Thursday nights, so be prepared to wait for a seat inside. -
Review 31 (2023-08-30 - Rating: 5)
Stunner of a bar with perfect location to grab a cocktail before hopping on a train. The high-ceiling, low light space is downright beautiful and the staff are prompt and professional. Drinks are certainly pricey but they’re spectacular. Really enjoyed their Peachy Keen cocktail and espresso martini. And if you’re hitting Amtrak or metro north, consider using their lovely aromatic bathroom before entering the train station. -

This place is a journey to old times. The environment and the decoration are perfect.Food and drinks were ok but I got in love with the vibe and music of the place, a hidden bar inside the Grand Central.I highly recommend to visit if you are in NY. -

We walked in on Saturday night around 9pm, after 10-15 min waiting at a bar 2 chairs freed up, it was not super busy i would say. A very enjoyable, dark, mysterious and date-night appropriate place, the live jazz band was a great touch. The cocktails were delicious and strong. -

If youre planning an event - The Campbell is top notch! Its great just to stop by, as well, but Tara - the events contact - was such a pro. She was in the middle of another event and didnt skip a beat to get back to me right away. She was so hospitable to our group and really made our experience easy and special. Thank you to Tara and the team! We will be back - and often! -
Review 35 (2024-06-01 - Rating: 4)

Review 39 (2023-08-12 - Rating: 5)
Exquisite.- Ive left my written review with just this word since posting it to Google Maps in June 2023 up for a week because if there is only one word to describe The Campbell, exquisite would be it.In more detail, the 1923 private office and reception hall built for the renowned financier John W. Campbell inside the Grand Central Terminal is something to behold. Love every detail that was fully restored keeping the original architecture while adding modern elements of design.John Campbell chose the lavish look of 13th century Florentine style which is very ornate and elaborate in its use of gold paints and expensive materials whether glass, stone or upholstery, and its grand spaces. Here the 25 foot ceilings showcase laboriously hand painted wood beams with a multitude of colored symbols and patterns. The fireplace has a griffin carved into its stone overmantel and Campbells personal safe in the firebox. Stained glass windows are illuminated but the overall feel to the room is private and dark. There is a balcony in the bar near the front, and two other rooms other than the bar. One is the Palm Court, with views of the GCT concourse and tall palm trees, and the other is the Terrace, which naturally is outside with its own bar and street views plus cushioned sectionals giving it a more lounge-like feel.We ordered two drinks from their cocktail menu, the French 75 which was actually made with the Ford gin I was going to request seeing it in their stock, and the GG Manhattan. A family member ordered a glass of ice tea. Our wait staff told us they no longer had the meatball sliders on the menu but now had lobster sliders instead. We agreed to share these and an order of hummus with warm pita and crudite. Both dishes were finely prepared and enjoyable.I guess this magnificent space can be intimidating for some people as we saw two women in sundresses and sandals come in the doorway to quickly snap a photo and then turn and run back down the stairs. Biding our time before heading downtown for a walking tour in NoHo (which Ill also be reviewing) we cant think of a better place we could have done this soaking in every minute.Arriving soon after their opening hour of noon, we were able to be seated without a reservation on a Sunday. The bartender said their really busy hours start on Thursday. Its best to book a table during this time especially for dinner. -

Sunday night is our favorite night to come to The Campbell. The room is absolutely stunning , and the live music makes for a perfect experience. If you know Justin , have him get you 2 seats at the end of the bar and just let him take care of everything , he’s a consummate professional bartender . -

Love this place. I spent many nights here years ago and it has been a long time since I have been back.Awesome architecture, just a beautiful space with a great back story. My hostess Tara was tremendously helpful and professional. My bartender Harris was a real gem - a true gentleman who also made a hell of a great Manhattan!I look forward to coming back again and again! So glad it is still rocking! -
Review 43 (2022-11-05 - Rating: 5)
This was one of the best places I went to all my trip to New York recently. Amazing selection of over 3,000 types of whiskey were available. The menu was full of amazing food so highly recommend you go there with an empty stomach. There was live jazz to keep us entertained and the atmosphere was very nice and cozy. If you are into whiskey at all, you should know about this place and if you havent gone, youre about to get blown away. -
Review 44 (2024-08-19 - Rating: 5)
The Campbell in Grand Central Station has a cool atmosphere and great drinks. Its a bit hidden, but worth the visit. The bartenders really know their stuff and made one of the best Gibsons Ive had. It can be tricky to find from inside, and theres a funky smell on the way, but another entrance is easier. The drinks are good, but pricey, and its mostly an after-work crowd. -

We just got engaged and celebrated at The Campbell Bar. The place has such a cool, dark vibe, perfect for our night. Justin, our bartender, was awesome—super friendly and made sure we had a blast. If you’re looking for a stylish spot with great service, check out The Campbell Bar. -

The Campbell Bar is my favorite spot near work for a drink before catching the train. Its historic charm and elegant atmosphere set the tone, but it’s the team for me that makes it special. Whether it’s Justin or Scott behind the bar, their expertise shines in every glass, and with Tara as the manager, they’re the perfect team for a flawless experience. -

Review 50 (2023-12-09 - Rating: 4)
The interior of the place is incredibly inviting, with a cozy and fabulous atmosphere that transports you to another world filled with modern people. I enjoyed observing the bartenders skillfully prepare drinks, which was quite entertaining. The New York attitude was definitely present. I do have to mentioned that the waitress and hostess were both charming and delightful.I ordered the vesper cocktail, which was refreshingly clean and crisp, in other words, absolutely delicious. However, I was a bit disappointed with the mini lobster roll as it was overly salty and not the best Ive had. I would recommend sticking to the charcuterie or olives instead.I would definitely come back for a drink! -

The staff was very courteous and happy to make quick conversation. The drinks were great. We got the pretzel bites as well which came with a side of beer cheese (delicious) and dijon mustard (strong). The atmosphere was grand and regal. -
Review 53 (2024-05-10 - Rating: 4)
The place is pretty cool. It’s actually really beautiful. Amazing to see the decoration is old in a good way. The have a dress code is I think it’s stupid for a bar and you would be standing most of them time if you go there late -
Review 54 (2018-10-11 - Rating: 5)
This venue has top of the line staff. I mean, the whole time youre there someone from staff will be checking on you or assisting you. The food is great. Management is excellent. I suggest that the lighting gets brighter when theres an speaker, since I believe that the darker atmosphere invite people farther away from the speaker to carry other conversations. Also, Ive noticed that the step and repeat (backdrop) is not allowed to be used inside. Event organizers should be aware of that before hand. Minor stuff. At the end, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VENUE FOR EVENTS!!! -
Review 55 (2023-02-22 - Rating: 5)
Handsome monastery where monks of all sizes smoke perfumed Turkish cigars. Ceiling wallpaper is a festive, iridescent burgundy , similar to how temples in Thailand create joy ; the wide and long opaque window behind the bar provides solemn sanctity; the long scones act as lighthouses diffusing soft orange and white light over the dark souls like me ; the servers are forgettable but the solicitous maitre d’ is not. It’s a noisy destination pub but not a neighborhood one. The pretzel appetizer surprise with their softness. -

Such a nice place to grab a drink and a snack after a happy hour before heading home. I didnt sit but from what I could see, all of the seating looked cushioned and comfortable as well. -

The Campbell is a true hidden gem in Grand Central Station. The interior is beautiful and features a lot of the original woodwork of Grand Central Station. The cocktail list is great- but the list of available liquor is very impressive so you’re sure to find something for everyone. We lucked out and we’re able to walk in- but I recommend making a reservation to ensure you get a table! -

Wow! It’s a little hard to find (we had to get directions from people working in Grand Central) but that probably stops it from getting too crowded, which meant we were able to walk straight in at 7PM on a Saturday and take the last table. The cocktails are expensive, even by NYC standards, but it’s perfect for a rare treat or if you’re celebrating something special. The history of the place makes it even more interesting that your average nicely decorated cocktail bar. -

Went to The Campbell to celebrate my brothers birthday. As per NYC regulations, one cannot enter the premises without showing ID and vaccination status. The hostess was lovely and we were shown to our table promptly. The waitstaff were professional and not too pushy. The atmosphere is brilliant. loved the ancient, semi-secretive vibe. the small round tables that are put closely together add to the effect. The bar chars were full during most of our time there. my opinion, reserve a table in advance.I got the Penicillin (basically its scotch with scotch, lemon and ginger). recommend it highly.my second drink was La ultima Palabra. was okay. wouldnt order again. maybe because of the fruit fly that came out of the cherries that were served with the drink, but mostly because Im not that into tequila.everyone else enjoyed their drinks but agreed that the Ultima wasnt the ultimate drink.A good way to know if its safe for you to walk home is to walk safely down the stairs on your way out... lol.in conclusion, would definitely recommend this Pub/Bar -

Historical bar, inside of grand central station.. you should read a little about the story of the place.. I went there with some friends around 8 pm and was really really busy.. if you want to enjoy a good cocktail you should go when is not too busy so you can enjoy your 20$ cosmopolitan. 😉 -

Ive been here a number of times. Their old fashions are the best. The bartender service is pretty slow but thats because they make very good classy drinks. Their alcohol selection could use some improvement, especially in terms of aged whiskey of which they have little. Most servers are great but there are a couple who are actually pretty horrible; but I think youll have that most places. The architecture inside and the ambiance knowing the history of this place is what makes it. You feel the impressions of the presidents and mayors who called this location their own little retreat. You still have important guests coming and going without anyone really noticing. Theres an outside section to which is fun during the warmer months. The alcohol selection there is less and doesnt have the same feeling as inside but its nice nonetheless. Proper attire is required, but dont think you need a suit or something. Shorts and printed graphics may get you put into a corner but they wont turn you away unless they are absolutely packed. -

My wife and I made it a point to visit the “hidden” bar of union square, and it was such a fun experience.Bustling and lively with the sounds of conversation and jazz music, this is a wonderful place to enjoy a good cocktail.I had the Manhattan and my wife had the margarita. Both were expertly prepared and delicious. We did not have reservations, but were able to walk up to the bar for a short wait.A wonderful place to enjoy a drink after running around the city. -

Evening cocktails at this cool hideaway bar in Grand Central!Id definitely recommend having a Reservation to get a table!I had a Manhattan (photo) and an Old Fashioned. My sis had two Lychee Martinis. Everything was great!A bit pricey at $20 a drink but a fun experience! -

I mistakenly made our reservation for the wrong day, but when we arrived on a busy Saturday night, hostess Cici was remarkably understanding! She quickly found us a spot on the second floor, which turned out to be even better. The drinks were fantastic, and Ill definitely recommend this place to friends! -

Great little hidden gem right in Grand Central Station. The drinks are great, but its small, so youll probably have to wait for a table. Worth missing your train for it. -

This is one of my favorite places to bring out of town guests. The hostess was lovely and offered a table until the reservation came, which we gladly took and were quick to leave when needed. The bartender (Justin) was also fabulous. He joked around with us about being Gator fans and was very personable. Recommend making a reservation, otherwise expect to stand at the bar. -

Didn’t know what to order but Justin made this insane cucumber mezcal drink off menu for me and it was incredible! Would definitely recommend this bar to all my friends. -

Stunning space. Beautiful ceilings and warm atmosphere. You only get 1.5 hours at a table, which your whole party needs to be present for to get seated. All welcome to stand by and order from bar though. We were there from 4pm to 6 on a Friday afternoon. It was not crowded till 5:30 hit. Services could have between better. After the first round, it was difficult finding someone to order the 2nd round. Since it took so long, we gave up entirely on the 3rd round. -

Review 90 (2021-12-07 - Rating: 5)
The bar is simply beautiful. Accessed from the train station. There are few tables because it is very small, so you have to wait for someone to get up and take their place. Very good drinks, just a bit pricy. Great service and friendly staff. -
Review 91 (2022-07-16 - Rating: 4)
Always a beautiful spot to stop for a quick drink on a hot day. They have now solely adapted the QR code for their menus. We were unable to get Wi-Fi connectivity which the bartender said was a common problem. He ended up having to give us his own phone to show us the menu which I thought was incredible for a place of this calibre not to offer hard copies or an alternative solution. For people who have Vision issues, Wi-Fi connectivity issues, or simply dont live with their cell phones, I would recommend putting a menu up outside the main door at the very least for people to view when they come in. -
Review 92 (2021-11-10 - Rating: 5)
Its a really busy bar because of its name and location. There was a 45 minute to get a table. However, I feel its worth coming here to enjoy one of their signature cocktails in a timeless setting more than anything else. Overall, its a New York staple worth going at least once if youre in the area -
Review 93 (2024-03-28 - Rating: 5)

Review 94 (2017-10-07 - Rating: 5)
We loved the atmosphere. We were just looking for somewhere to get a cold drink after wondering the city, when I local saw us looking at the map for the Terminal and said dont waste your time with those places, go there instead and explained how to get there. So glad we took his advice. My friend and I loved our drink and was glad for the more sophisticated location avoiding the normal sloshy behavior at the on the street bars or bar and grill type places. Pricing for what we are used to down south, but feel like it was totally worth the upscaled vibe and comfort. Will definitely be returning on my next trip to the city. -

The most majestic jazz bar Ive ever been to. Here since the 1930s, its got intricately designed walls and high ceilings that were handpainted. Spacious with sitting and standing room. Jazz isnt too loud that it hampers conversation. Would come here again. Worth the resy and price. :) -

Amazing boutique hidden gem of a bar, situated at Grand Central Station. It had great style and design along with the music made the atmosphere feel as though we belonged with Frank and his pack.Bar staff were beautiful and food was good without detracting from the overall sense of history that this venue must be hiding. -
Review 114 (2019-12-17 - Rating: 5)
Very cool bar with amazing cocktails and food. Ambiance was great and staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a nice corner booth on a Sunday afternoon. I recommend getting there earlier if you don’t have a reservation as it filled it before we left. Pictures are the blonde and classic Negronis- both were served on beautiful hand etched glasses. We also had delicious grilled cheese sandwiches and a Caesar salad with the yummiest crumbled bacon. To find The Campbell from the main hall of grand central look for the Vanderbilt side of the building and head up the stairs and exit the building. You’ll make a left and be there in less than 75ft.Enjoy your visit! -

To start the bartender, Jesse, was a sweetie and helped us decide on the best bites to order and it did not disappoint, I recommend the spinach and artichoke dip hands down! The hummus was fresh and filling for sure! Got some wines and cosmos and it was a great relaxing spot after work. What took it to the next level was Tara and Victoria; hospitable, professional, and overall sweet women who really cared and ensured we had a great time. It was my first time and I’m excited because I’m going to bring my team over for happy hour. Definitely worth a visit! -

The Campbell Bar is a must every time I visit NYC. The bar’s ambiance is great, especially if you enjoy a speakeasy feel; its history alone is worth the visit! The best part, however, is the bartender Justin; he is, hands down, the best bartender I have ever had. He’s a true mixologist—from penicillin to martinis, he will craft what you crave! Witchcraft? Wizardry? Okay, maybe not, but all you have to do is share your favorite flavors with him and he’ll make you the best drink you’ve ever had (that you didn’t even know existed)! I am truly looking forward to coming back! Thank you so much Justin! -

Beautifully restored! my martini was perfect. We went for a cocktail before dinner and it was a perfect way to set the mood. Dimly lit, people get dressed up but you dont have to, the glassware is fancy and the staff are friendly. We met some nice patrons and took in all the sights over a beautifully made drink. I will be sure to include this into all my future NYC visits! -

I visited The Campbell on Sat Dec 9. It was my all time favorite bar when I lived in the city over ten years ago. Without looking at the menu I asked for an Irish coffee. The bartender told me he couldnt do hot but he could do cold. I said sure. Almost a month later and I still cant stop thinking about that drink. That was one of the best irish coffees and drinks Ive ever had in my life. I dont know if he made me your espresso martini found on the menu but I would love to know how it was made so I can try and replicate it at home. Otherwise Ill just have to wait until my next trip to NYC. Based on the other reviews I will guess it was Justin who made this drink. Here is a photo I took and I believe it was the guy on the far left who made the drink. The Campbell is always on my list to visit when I am in NYC and I look forward to coming back! -

Amazing old New York interior that is both a feast for the eyes and makes for an elegant, sensuous atmosphere. Comfortable seating, even for my bad back. Drinks are very good, live old school, jazz pianist was wonderful. Service was excellent, warm and attentive, without being overbearing, and even the manager seemed kind and genuinely warm. Only complaints: the charcuterie plate was a let down, especially for how (not unusually) pricey everything is, and the lighting was so dark I couldn’t even see the menu (and that’s not a problem for me usually). Otherwise it’s so wonderful having this place right in Grand Central. -
Review 157 (2023-11-29 - Rating: 4)
The host and bartender were very friendly, and the immaculate vibes provided by the refurbished room and live pianist in the corner. But oh my god is the wine awful. $18 (!!!) for Kim Crawford is outrageous, theres gotta be a better two buck chuck they can overcharge for at the very least. Id go again but probably get a rum and coke or something. -

Really enjoyed our pre-booked visit here for some cocktails. It was dark with a really good atmosphere. Clearly a historic place near Grand Central Station. Service was excellent and a very good range of drinks to choose from. You really need to book a table which you have for about 90 mins although you try and turn up and find a place at the bar. Youre asked for a credit card to be kept on file after you sit down. It was cheap! Cost us about £120 for 6 drinks which included a service charge! It was unique experience and thankful we experienced before flying back to the UK. -

This is a great bar for a good strong drink in a gorgeous historical setting. The interiors are worth the visit alone, whether you’re a railroad history buff or a gossip girl fan (I’m both). The after-work happy hour crowd is a bit loud in the echo-y chamber, but I loved my dirty martini, they make a good one! -

Really fun bar hidden in Grand Central. Even my friend whos lived here for 25 years didnt know about it. The atmosphere is comfortably dark with a story of medieval decor. They seem to focus on making classic cocktails really well. I had a penicillin and a Negroni and loved both. Id definitely return if in the area.
