    Stopped by for F1 racing, NFL, and a couple beverages... the place was busy but not packed. The staff were kind and helpful. We didnt eat but the food looked and smelled good. Good atmosphere.

    Its one of the most comfy places to hang out in the Upper West Manhattan. The staff are really nice and superhelpful. It can grt quite loud when its packed, but it adds to the charm of The Gin Mill. Food is nice. Bonless Wings, Old Fashioned Sliders are great and would recommend them.

    We didn’t eat here but it was our local while we were staying in the UWS. Drinks were awesome. They played the US Open on the tv. Barman Louie was the best, took care of us both with beverages and moving on unwelcome attention. I hope he enjoyed the TimTams we left him. :)

    Here you find the best fries with cheese and bacon in NY! Reminds me a lot of the French fries we have in Brazil! The chicken wings are super yummy! I recommend with eyes closed!

    For a private event - Held a surprise, Roaring 20s themed party at the Gin Mill, so fantastic. We needed almost no decoration, the private room in the basement behind a locked door, was fantastic. Beautiful, spacious, and the service was perfect. The manager assisted us with determining how to get the birthday girl downstairs without ruining the surprise. Our bartender was attentive, fast, personable, fun, and really great at suggesting drinks for the birthday girl as well! The set up and breakdown were easy with the staffs help, and the price of the event was completely reasonable for the great time we had. Most top shelf liquor was available for about $50/per person for three hours. The food was great, both the food that we ordered and the food that came with the event. There wasnt a lot of food included in the event buffet - dont plan on inviting 30-50 people and having a full dinner included in the price. But they did bring out a beer pong table half way through the evening, and the pitchers of beer for the games were all included. All-in-all it was such a great experience, would HIGHLY recommend for any event. The happy birthday sign you see in the pictures is ours, one of the only decorations we brought.

    They offer happy hour deals basically out of any reasons you can think of—which is coming from the true spirit of running a bar, I personally think. Beers taste how it’s supposed to be, and the foods are attentive to the classic while boasting their own touch.

    If you want a bustling sports bar with plenty of TVs and fairly priced drinks, head to The Gin Mill.While we dont always mesh with the crowd here, weve generally found it to be a good spot to catch a game. Their food options are quality, too!And most weekend nights they have a live DJ, although there isnt a ton of space to dance!

    Stopped here with my wife to grab a bite to eat before a concert in Central Park. We were originally going to try the Dead Poet, which did look great from a drink-only standpoint. Unfortunately, they do not have a kitchen, so we went next door to The Gin Mill, because it looked like a cool place. We were right on that guess! Ended up ordering a couple of beers each, which are $2 off every day from 11am-5pm, because they are a great bar that believes in happy hour every day for those times. Bar service was fantastic and quick, and they have a good selection of beers and drinks. We also ordered food, which was great. I had a burger and my wife had boneless wings, both of which were fresh and had massive portions. Service was fast and the food was priced fairly. My personal favorite feature of this establishment, however, is the overall atmosphere. It’s very cozy, and even though it’s a sports bar, it’s well laid out and nicely decorated. Will recommend to anyone in need of a great dining experience!

    They are the only ones in the upper west side that I found to have the south american football (soccer..) on TV.wide selection of drafted beers, they were really nice, music was good, the cheeseburger was good.later when it got busier it was harder to order because they had only 2 bar tenders.we had 6 beers, 2 burgers with fries, 1 chicken wings, 2 seltzers and it was 81usd !

    Its great, once I ordered a mocktail and was charge two different prices for the same drink, one was more accommodating than the other. Also, the front door bouncer acts a little like a tough cookie/ night club, so be prepared if youre expecting the scale to be higher than standard. Food is good, especially the burgers and nachos, at the same time.

    AMAZING nachos! Best Ive ever had! We went during the day and they had half price drinks until 8pm so we got a pitcher of beer for such a low price compared to everywhere else we saw in NYC. The burgers looked amazing and such big portions too. They always have loads of deals and they have a nice atmosphere. If youre passing definitely go in, even if its just to grab a half price drink! But again, nachos! With pulled pork! AMAZING! The best ever.

    It is one of my favorite bars in the upper west side. The happy hour and daily specials are unbeatable. The bartenders are very nice and great to talk to. The soundtrack however… is criminal. This community is mostly jews and senior citizens. None of which want to listen to doja cat sing profanities while sipping their $14 pitcher of kona big wave. A classic rock vibe would appeal to more folks and create a more relaxing atmosphere. Mazel tov!Additionally, something most people dont think of but as a big sports enthusiast, I love watching games here. They always play the sound and have great timing to switch it back to music when the games are on commercial breaks. Although I don’t like the music, if they listen to this review and change the music, it would be a 10/10 bar.

    This place is a fantastic sport bar! 🍻 The Gin Mill is a great local watering hole with wide variety of classic American 🇺🇲 dishes! 🍽️ Definitely try the Nachos, Chicken 🍗 Caeser Wrap 🌯, and Fries 🍟 - all absolutely delicious! 🤤 The place is filled with TVs showing sport events 🏈 and has full-sized Beer 🍺 Pong 🏓 tables! Staff is very nice and welcoming! Service is quick.     Good music, a LOT of tables(which is good), and great service makes this an awesome bar to visit when you want to go out with some friends. Though the tables take away forthe usual amount of intermingling that you get in bars. The specials are definitely great too, generally starting after 8pm on weekdays, the specials start at 11:30am on weekends

    Your local watering hole with probably the best prices in town. Bartenders and waitresses are cool as hell. Always feel welcomed here and its a great after work place to wind down with drinks and even meet cool people. Beer pong in the back in case if you want to have a little fun with friends as well.

    Its the sister bar to Jakes dilemma. Together they are part of the sprawling ny best bar syndicate. A familiar atmosphere or beer soaked wood, big screens, load music, drinking games and off peak specials draw throngs of college types. Food is consistent pub grub. Come for half priced pitchers but ask for a glass, those plastic mugs take cheap too far. Maybe youll get lucky. Its where I met my wife!

    Jack and Jason are great. They always provide amazing customer service and are extremely friendly. I even witnessed Jack dealing with an unruly older couple visiting verbally assaulting him and he handled himself in an extremely professional matter as the man hassled him rudely. Always a great experience!

    My high school friends and I used to go here when it was known as fire house. They have solid bar foods and drinks. I recently went during happy hour, and there was a bouncer at the door who checked id. Service is great once you are inside and there are beer pong tables in the back.

    I went along a few times to watch the NFL on Sunday afternoons. The bar was packed and was incredibly loud, but it served the atmosphere extremely well. The bar staff were polite and served drinks efficiently and quickly.

    We had an engagement party in the speakeasy room downstairs. The staff was simply fantastic and they hosted a wonderful party. Katelyn the bartender was quick and efficient and kept everyone happy, Lexi the server helped us get organized pre party and Tony (securiity) kept the room secure from passersby trying to crash. Highly recommend the Gin Mill for a party.

    Let me put it this way...I scored my first night. Although my brothers wife cut it short when she walked into the living room admidst me balls deep into some type of Peru/Spanish Hawaii type (not the hottest) it was Definitley fun night and this is the type of place that could occur next wknd. I mean once the server couldnt even stop touching me and thats while my gf is sitting there! Yeaaah! This place just makes girls horny like UWS girls gone wild. Plus they have that Stanky buffalo chicken options...I might actually get a wrap right now

    Just went in there to grab a drink for the first time..... saw the sign inside that said half off all beer for happy hour until 8:00 p.m. on Saturdays so I ordered one at 7:15 and was charged $8.75.... when I asked the bartender about the happy hour sign her only explanation was that the sign was wrongjudging by all the other positive reviews this seems to be a pretty good spot so maybe Ill give it another go at some point but I dont understand how you have a sign up stating happy hour goes until 8:00 p.m. and then charge full price instead

    We had a private event in the Speakeasy (in the basement of the Gin Mill) and we could not recommend it enough! We had welcome drinks for our wedding weekend and the space was perfect for an informal happy hour for our guests. Leading up to the event, the event coordinators were communicative and helpful in answering our questions and helping us choose a menu. The bartenders were fun and attentive and played great music. The Gin Mill also had great options for finger food. The pricing was reasonable and gave us a lot of flexibility, given that we didnt know exactly how many guests would come. Our guests had a great time and it was an amazing start to our wedding weekend.

    Nice people and the best deal in town - $3 bud light cans, Hot Dog with fries for $5.99. Early on the weekends I love their $6.50 margaritas. They taste like vacation. Why go anywhere else?As if the deals arent enough, the customers and staff are friendly, and the service is fast. This is THE place to be to watch sports. They have dozens of tvs. Plus, during football and big events secret screens come down behind the bar for even more projected sports goodness. This is a Jets bar; however, there is often a Bills section in the back where they even have the sound on for the Bills.Inside is huge. They have a small outdoor seating area curbside (holds about 15). They have a larger outside seating area with low tops and high tops in a street shed, just look both ways for bikes.What to know if you have Kids or Wheelchairs:Its not great for kids. Kids are only allowed in the back, or outside. You need to navigate a few stairs to reach the back of the restaurant and lot of stairs for the bathroom. This is not a wheelchair friendly location. The bar area only has high-tops, and the back area is only reachable through stairs. But the outside area is very nice and wheelchair accessible. I assume they have a deal with a nearby bar or restaurant if someone needs an accessible toilet.
