    I found this bar while searching Google for oyster happy hours in the East Village and it looked promising, so my friend and I decided to give it a go. So glad we did! Each cocktail was delicious, crafted with love and care, and made with quality ingredients. Our bartender, Dylan, was both personable and knowledgeable and a pleasure to chat with. The bar/restaurant itself is beautiful and you can tell that there was great attention to detail in their interior design. Everyone who worked there was nice and happy. Oysters were 10/10. Will definitelyBe back!

    I saw a sign for happy hour so I walked in to pass the time.It was early, the night was young, and the venue, a calm before the storm. No expectations. Played it safe, grabbed some red wine and sipped.And then I moved to the cocktails, not many available for happy hour but the ones that were, all excellent. The bartender, mixologist, or whatever you want to call them took their craft seriously here. I was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism. The by product of care resulted in an excellent drink. Keep it up.

    I needed a spot to grab some drinks and kill time before dinner reservations and randomly found this place. Super fun little bar-restaurant. I sat at the bar and enjoyed three gorgeous and tasty cocktails. High Tea was super fresh and adorable in the tea cup. The Lipstick was my favorite of the three. The sugar around the glass isnt just sugar its magic. Time Traveler was light and fresh but packs a punch that I felt an hour later lol (I did not need a drink at dinner later!). Very friendly bar staff who care about their craft and put time into making sure each drink is special. They have lots of tables as well. For a cozy corner bar it feels very spacious. I tend to like to try new places all the time but I will totally come back here again. Thank you!!

    We had a few minutes to kill before dinner so we stopped by for a drink & they happened to have a happy hour w/ half off drinks👍Got home fries too which were fire. Large serving size made from real potatoes.The vibe was nice - lively crowd with good music and lighting. It wasn’t so loud that you couldn’t hear your party. Deco kinda reminded me of an escape room - focus on your group instead. Good spot. Will def go back.

    Great place to hangout with great staff. Security guard made us feel safe and he was very attentive toward our needs. Shout to John the bouncer who was very friendly and professional. Great hangout spot to be at.

    This is basically a Happy Hour place with drink specials from 5 - 7 and oysters that were $1.50 each , as well as some small dishes . The fish and chips is ok . The fries are tasty . I liked the octopus more than my friend . Get the Rasmo - a tasty raspberry cocktail with rum I believe. The Happy Hour red wine Malbec was also really nice . Dark and relaxing interior.

    A great bar with reasonable price!I would recommend the Willy Wonka for chocolate lovers.It is a cup of hot cocoa but with strong flavor of alcohol.Some cocktails also comes with fragrance, and the staff would literally use grace bottle to add fragrance on top of it.There is also a wide range of base spirit for the cocktail as well.A recommended bar in the area!

    This is a gem of a cocktail bar! The drink menu is unique and every cocktail we tried was phenomenal. I love that they’re using fresh ingredients. The Willy wonka, high tea, and botanical disco were some of our favorites. We also shared raw oysters - perfection. The staff and service are five star as well.

    Lots to like about the Headless Widow! The Classic New York Pretzel fresh, soft and huge could be shared among 4 of us. The drinks were unique and tasted delicious. The space is unpretentious and has an inviting atmosphere. Bartenders are attentive and excellent at what they do. Shout out to Jaz for making our visit here enjoyable.     This place is great! My wife and I really enjoyed coming here for drinks last month. The bartender Eddie was so friendly and really fun to talk to. We didnt have any food this time, but the cocktails were delicious, and were definitely planning to return next time we are in the area.

    We had the pleasure of chatting with the GM during our visit. Such a great guy, along with his whole crew. The food was wonderful. We stopped mainly for the $1 oysters and they did not disappoint. They were fresh and very meaty. My girlfriend usually hates getting draft beer in the city because so many bars and restaurants just don’t clean their lines. Not the case here. No cocktails ordered, but they have a beautifully crafted selection.If you want good drinks, great service, and very tasty food, I highly recommend. This will be a new go to restaurant for me.

    A great cocktail list, cool vibe, and very friendly and attentive servers. A highlight was the Willy Wonka hot chocolate cocktail (served warm) though I couldnt have more than one! The Manhattans were also top notch! We visited on a Saturday evening around 5pm without a reservation and were able to get a table for 4, though it did get pretty busy quite quickly.

    What an absolute pleasure! Eddie and Joseph were amazing hosts!This place is very classy and fun!The burger was a delight and the small touches and the attention to detail by Joseph is spot on (eg. We wanted to split our burger and he per cut ours before bringing it to our table). The burger, the oysters and the pickles were delicious! The chips with the burger were hot and fresh! If I were to nitpick, Id have liked some seasoning on the burger patty but still good.Everybody is very attentive. Eddie at the bar is an absolute delight to speak with and loads fun. The cocktails are yummy and the beer selection good.Try the lavender shot for sure!We will be back!

    I wish that this could be my neighborhood bar. The cocktails were great, solid beer selection and tasty snacks. The music and ambiance were just my speed.     Wow! I had such a great experience here, the service was great. Santi was very attentive to our table and remembered all of our names. The vibe is very dark and seductive and has a good story behind it. It is a great spot to go with girlfriends or on a date.

    When my long time friend suggested this place to me during my recent visit to New York, I knew it would be something delightful.I was not prepared for how utterly exceptional my experience would be.Eddie and Azra greeted me (and all their guests) like long lost friends/family.The space is spotless and appointed with a variety of interesting objects and art. The music is some of the best mixing Ive heard in ages and perfectly suited to the vibe.The food is scrumptious, fresh and fun.Beverages are meticulously crafted and the beers are ice cold and served in a frosty mug.People watching is easy from inside but there is also outdoor seating if thats your preference.Happiness awaits you!

    The atmosphere is the best of any restaurant Ive been in (as far as I remember). Its comfortable yet classy.     Came across the place by chance walking around the East Village--its great! Dollar oysters and and tap beer at happy hour were spot on. Staff/ambience both very good, solid drink selection.     Headless widow is mine and my girlfriends favorite place to catch happy hour. Their drinks are great and all of their happy hour choices are consistently good. Azra and Joseph are the best, theyre super friendly and provide exceptional service everytime. Me and my girlfriend love coming here, and plan to come back whenever were back in the city. If youre looking for a place to hangout and have really good cocktails, The Headless Widow is the place!

    We are constantly in search of that one place in New York City which gets food and alcohol right. I personally have discovered such a place in The Headless Widow. Never has food tasted so wonderful and delightful. Come in for the Calamari as well as the Mac n Cheese. You want cocktails? They have you covered. Want good wine or beer? Again they have just what you are looking for. Its nice to spend time in a place where one feels at ease and does not get overwhelmed. This is an East village gem you dont want to miss.

    I dropped by The Headless Widow with a friend on a Friday night, and after a ten minute wait snagged two seats at the end of the bar. This was a great experience as we had front row seats to the one-man cocktail machine that was the bartender (Jesse?).One of the drinks I ordered was the Guillotini, which in my opinion is the best cocktail I have had in a very long time. This also just happened to be Jesses favorite drink on the menu, so I knew he and I would get along.After a pretty good mezcal old fashioned to follow (which Jesse claimed could have been better if he had the right bitters available), I challenged him to make an off-menu drink based on scotch and Amaro Montenegro, and he delivered with a delicious take on a penicillin.This is a craft cocktail bar with a fairly fruit-forward drink list, but do not let that frighten you away. You will be taken care of and I bet the line to get in will only grow in the future.

    We stopped in The Headless Widow on our last night in NYC while walking through the neighborhood. The happy hour special and atmosphere drew us in. The music was great, loud enough to fit the vibe and have privacy from nearby tables but not so loud you need to yell.We didn’t love our happy hour cocktails Botanical Disco and Time Traveler as they were heavier on the fresh citrus than we prefer (certain cocktails are HH priced).We debated trying to get into the speakeasy next door but knowing it would be packed and not wanting to judge THW on their happy hour specials, we decided to hold onto our table and gave a few more cocktails a shot. So glad we did! My absolute favorite was the lip gloss. The essence sprayed to finish it and the sugar rim perfectly complimented the sweet, juicy cocktail. The essence made the stem of the coupe glass a little sticky, however it’s served with a wet towel and well worth it! I had 3 of those! My husband liked the Blacker The Berry as his favorite of the night. He described it as an upscale slightly spiced sangria. We also tried Smokey & The Bandit, Passenger Princess + Hubbs ordered a regular old fashioned with Makers. All very good! Service was top notch on a busy night. If you’re heading there for a drink before going next door, stay a while! We stayed for hours and explored the menu for a fraction of the price next door and didn’t feel like we missed out whatsoever.

    The cocktails here are so good!! I tried The Blacker The Berry, The Gingerman, and Smokey & the Bandit.The Blacker The Berry was sweet, very heavy on the berry with an aftertaste of red wine. l loved that they sprayed the drink with a food grade perfume as well. Overall, an A+ drink.If you love ginger, try The Gingerman. The ginger and lemon came across the strongest. The candied ginger on top added a nice sweet touch.Smokey & the Bandit was sweet and smoky with several layers of flavor. If you like peaty liquors, you will enjoy this one.The staff are also very friendly. Definitely check this place out if youre in the area.

    My friend and I came here for post dinner happy hour drinks on a hot June summer day in 2022.The drinks here are strong, so I recommend asking the waiter sirs for their recommendations if you have a sweeter palate.I ordered the Ginger Man because I love ginger but it was super ginger-y. I wouldnt necessarily order this again. It was too alcoholic for my palate, but would try a different, sweeter cocktail next time.My friend ordered the Botanical Disco and we both loved it. It was sweet yet tangy and came with a spear of cucumber we snacked on.The atmo is laid back, casual and the décor is dark hued library vibes with tufted leather booths, reminded me of a Vampire Weekend song.

    Amazing. Cocktails are some of the best I’ve ever had!! I had the Guillotini and the Lipgloss. Absolute perfection. My fiancé had the High Tea and the Time Traveler. We couldn’t get in at death & co, and came here as a back up — it’ll be on our list of top choice for visiting moving toward. Staff is super friendly; attentive and talented at making the drinks.     This is place is amazing. We chanced upon it after the oyster bar next door had a 45 minute waiting time and were ushered in by the waiting staff. The cocktails were excellent but the food is right up there with the best I’ve had at a bar. The oysters were fresh and tasty (I’ve had better though) but the fried calamari, octopus and escargots were an absolute treat. The octopus stood out for me as it was cooked to perfection and although it was crispy on the outside, it wasn’t burnt at all. The place was full of couples on a Thursday afternoon so I reckon it must be a trendy spot. The decor and ambience were nice and I’d definitely go back again to try more of the cocktails and food.

    This place has some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had, especially located in NY. The first time I tried their cocktails, the ingredients they used were well balanced. The second time I went, their drinks were consistent with the quality and taste as the first time. I love their consistency in quality and service. Joseph and Azra served us both times and they always provide great service and conversation. The Headless Widow has easily become my favorite place for cocktails in NY.     We had a great time at the Headless Widow, a fantastic name for an excellent bar. Not in the mood for a sports bar or an ersatz Irish pub, we found the Headless Widow open at 4:00 on a Sunday, after wandering the East Village because the East Village Hat Shop was closed. Josh was our bartender, well hes a mixologist by passion and a bartender by trade. He took amazing care of us all afternoon, and mixed me great concoctions and my wife a tasty Pimms Cup.Food was good too. I loved the shrimp and the pretzel lasted until the next days breakfast. The Headless Widow would be a great bar to meet friends and hang out. Its the quintessential neighborhood bar.

    We LOVED The Headless Widow. The staff are incredible and Justin specifically made our whole night. Kiki and the rest of the bar staff were also amazing but Justin stood out with recommendations of where to go next, conversation for out of towners and more. The drinks are delicious and they do incredible shot-mixers (so, not a liquor shot but a cocktail shooter). Cannot wait to come back.
