This place is outstanding! You have to go on Sundays and Mondays for the Maryland crabs. They only get them those two days and theyre so good. Theyre as fresh as it gets and they only cook them when you order, and run out when they run out so go early! Theyre cooked with just the perfect amount of old Bay. I cant wait to go back!

This is one of the best stumble upon we have ever had. The food is great, the place is very inviting and the staff goes out of their way to take care of the customers. We’ll definitely add this place to the list of places to revisit. You have to give it a try!!

Quiet low key spot in Tribeca that you can grab a pretty good burger and beer. The wings are very good as well.

We were wandering around downtown looking for an open bar on a Thursday night at 10:30. It was like the search for the missing link. Finally, after a 30 minute circular hike, we found a bar open. Plopping down at two corner seats, we just wanted a cocktail to pull us through our first evening in NYC.Hungry, after landing at JFK at 8:30, we gave up finding food. Everything was shuttered. Then, after turning left, heading uptown from the tower, we found a small joint open. Hip Hip Hooray.I even had to ask the name of the bar, but now I will never forget the Hideaway. Eric greeted us with his upbeat sense of humor. The Hideway reminded me of a Wisconsin tavern, my highest compliment. Drinks were strong, cheap, and everyone was welcoming. This was the first bar I was able to sit and lean on in 14 months. I can’t think of a better bar to finally christen as my first. Thank you Eric and thank you Hideway.

If you live in the hood this should be your spot. A great place to just grab a quick beer or 20 and chat with the amazing staff. Very laid back and relaxing environment and foods great- especially when they have crabs in the summer. My go to.

Such a great neighborhood bar, nothing pretentious like a lot of tribeca spots. Just a fantastic little bar to get good drinks, good times, and good food.

  • Review 35 (2016-05-23 - Rating: 4)

Small and cozy watering hole on a nondescript street in TriBeCa. A good selection of beers, wines, and cocktails. Service is friendly. Happy hour specials are decently priced for the area. Not a ton of seating.

  • Review 36 (2015-11-29 - Rating: 5)

Not the cheapest place around but not terrible expensive either. Its fairly small but Ive never seen it completely packed. The bartenders are extremely friendly and quick. Beer selection was great and varied even though they dont have a ton of taps. Ive only tried the truffle fries which I really liked. I saw a burger which was huge and looked amazing. We had a private party for my girlfriends birthday here and while I was a little worried because there was no bar upstairs they took care of us and everything went perfectly. They have a Brazilian band on Fridays which is entertaining and seems to really engage people.

I want to love this place for its divey rock-bar presentation but the staff makes it hard and the young finance crowd makes it next to impossible.

On food alone, this place is maybe 2 stars. The falafel wrap is a solid choice because the wrap is gooey, warm and the falafel tastes light, a bit like spinach. However, the brunch options were mediocre. Merguez sausage was dry, crumbly and lacked flavor. The eggs were crazy over poached, and the potatoes on the side (hard boiled consistency), although covered in spices, had no unique flavor and were served cold. The pre-Sunday brunch options come with an array of appetizing small dishes, but again, most lack flavor despite their added spice. However, I rate this place 3 points based on stellar service and $5 unlimited mimosas. While my group dropped by for a hasty Sunday brunch in the small, compact restaurant, the staff went all hands on deck to make sure we were taken care of. Mimosa glasses were almost always filled, the food came out very promptly, and the waiters and managers did their best to keep us happy. We did have a little situation with the bill - apparently when people in our party showed up (which we had reservations about), the restaurant imposed a $20 fee for each missing person. While I cant blame them for doing this (after all, in such a small restaurant, its lost revenue), that would be the best time to know this rule in advance, rather than when the bill comes. Also, because there were so many people ordering meals, we had a bit of an issue getting charged more, but that could really happen to anyone. Be aware if you arrive with a large group check your bill. The manager, seeing that there was an error with the bill, some people in our party were visibly unhappy that we were charged $20 for a no-show without prior knowledge that this would happen, without her best remedy, and remove part of the charge And her main concern was obviously that we had a positive lunch experience. Although this place doesnt always get it right, they make such an honest effort. That said, in my opinion, its the quality you see in too many restaurants these days, so because of that I will definitely go back again.
