The ultimate neighborhood wine bar with a relaxed, unpretentious vibe, an extensive, affordable wine list, and delicious bites—including caviar!A classic, old-school spot with soft lighting and gentle music that truly captures the spirit of the East Village. Perfect for date nights, relaxing with friends, or unwinding solo. ❤️✨ -

Review 3 (2024-09-22 - Rating: 5)
Cute little quiet and intimate bar with friendly staff! Went in while walking around the block. Music was low enough to talk, loud enough to enjoy! Clean bathroom as well! -

Ah ah ahhhh....AH!Ah ah ahhhh....AH!We come from the land of the ice and snowFrom the midnight sun where the hot springs flow...Okay, this isnt actually the spot where Zeppelin would be blasted, but for a $12-15 glass of wine in East Village, you could do worse.Bonus people watching spot, like the drunk girl who left her phone in the bathroom and the frat guy on a first date. -
Review 5 (2024-10-02 - Rating: 4)
Decent wine bar with reasonable prices for the wine. It’s nothing special but I enjoyed my time here with my boyfriend. -
Review 6 (2024-09-02 - Rating: 5)
Amazing wine bar tucked away in the East Village. Perfect date spot! -
Review 7 (2024-02-22 - Rating: 5)
Amazing little bar in east village. One half is a beer speciality bar, the other half is a wine specialty bar, but you can order both from either side. Super friendly staff, and great snacks. -
Review 8 (2023-10-07 - Rating: 5)
Can not beat the atmosphere, the meat and cheese plate was plain but quality and the service was delightful! -

Very chill bar with really nice drinks. Recommend trying their Mezcal cocktail! -
Review 11 (2020-03-03 - Rating: 4)
Went here on a date and loved the cozy bar. The bartender was really nice. I was fickle minded in which wine to order and she let me taste few wines to finally decide which one I wanted. Would definitely recommend this place to all the wine lovers out there. -

Review 13 (2013-05-09 - Rating: 5)
My first visit was met by two employees and two regulars all turning and greeting me as I entered and offering me fresh cookies before I even sat down. This is a little-know hole in the wall serving a great collection of wine and beer in the East Village. By far one of the best places Ive found so far. The people are absolutely delightful and they even have good food- mostly snacks to go with the wine. Every server is thoroughly knowledgeable on every bottle they serve. Please go- just for me. -

Review 16 (2020-12-16 - Rating: 5)
A nice lovely place with a great variety of wines. We went there to have some of their cocktails. All cocktails tasted great. In addition the service was all the time friendly. A great place to chill for afterwork or to have a drink after dinner. -
Review 17 (2021-04-29 - Rating: 5)
Had drinks at The Immigrant last night. The outside area was super clean and welcoming. We even had our own blowup zebra to keep us company. The Sauvignon Blanc by the glass was delicious and they make a mean dirty martini. My boyfriend is a bartender and it actually might be better than his. Don’t tell him. Can’t wait to go back. ❤️🍸🍾 -

Review 19 (2021-03-01 - Rating: 5)
A cute little spot with delicious seasonal cocktails and a modest wine selection. The service was exceptional. All in all I can’t wait to have another excuse to go into Manhattan so I can stop by for a drink. -
Review 20 (2022-02-13 - Rating: 5)
Great place to bring a few friends for a quick drink. The left side is more of a casual tap room and the right side is focused on wine. Check out both and you’ll have a great time. -
Review 21 (2022-09-12 - Rating: 5)
Great first date spot. So much so that my date and I had to pause the date to leave a review on how Greta of a date spot this is. Don’t believe here listen to her.Hi! I’m the date. This spot is GREAT for a first date!Trust me guys that wasn’t just me typing that was my date. She’s a real human bean. 5/5 -
Review 22 (2017-12-12 - Rating: 5)
I love the ambiance inside. They have two bar spaces adjacent to each other and so always check the other if one is full. They have a good wine collection and a service. Try their cheeseplates as well. The menu isnt too diverse but quality is good. -
Review 23 (2015-12-31 - Rating: 5)
Ive been to The Immigrant a couple of times, and every time I go I become more enamored by it.There are two narrow rooms: one primary beer and the other wines. Thats not to say you can have both in either. Its a lowkey unassuming environment (some might say dive). Dim mood lighting, great music, usually jazzy, blues-y. Great place for small gatherings, some cheese and meat platters, and good conversation. -
Review 24 (2016-01-07 - Rating: 5)
Went to the pub side (beer) to catch a Monday Night Football game while vacationing in NYC.Great pub, everyone was super friendly -- great set of bar flys there! Jason the owner & his girlfriend were incredibly welcoming. If Im ever in the East Village again, Ill be sure to return -
Review 25 (2019-10-29 - Rating: 4)
Very nice atmosphere with a great wine list. Only problem was I didnt enjoy getting constantly bumped into when sitting at a window seat due to how cramped it was, and the service took forever to come back around each time. -
Review 26 (2020-09-06 - Rating: 5)

Review 29 (2021-06-11 - Rating: 5)

Great outdoor seating with amazing lights and seating indoor. Very cool bar to hangout. Staff is very covid friendly and go above and beyond to accommodate needs wrt to covid. Drinks are all right, not the best selection in the neighborhood but definitely one of the best ambiance and style-wise. Would love to check it out post covid but definitely recommend for a lazy drink or even a date! 😉 -

Review 71 (2022-05-30 - Rating: 5)
This is literally the only bar I have seen my wife order a Manhattan and then be satisfied with it. I dont know why shes like this, but apparently The Immigrant makes a decent Manhattan. I usually get a gin martini, those are also good. The atmosphere is lovely, theres always some cool people hanging out at the bar and some idiot children on a first tinder date you can eavesdrop on. -
Review 72 (2016-09-11 - Rating: 4)

Review 78 (2020-02-15 - Rating: 5)
My husband and I had wonderful time here last night while grabbing a drink. The bar tender was fantastic (had the greatest mustache too!) And was incredible about making sure everyone in his very busy bar was well-taken care of. The drink selection was great - a lot of solid classics, and good small bite options. We will definitely be back, and recommend to friends! -
Review 79 (2018-03-30 - Rating: 5)
The immigrant is the most beautiful wine bar in east village -
Review 80 (2019-07-02 - Rating: 5)
Great place for having great conversations. I prefer the left side, or “Tap Room”. It’s quieter and (slightly) less warm than the other side.Although I was on vacation, came here at least 3 times. The bartenders were always extremely courteous. -
Review 81 (2019-08-03 - Rating: 4)
Fine and small wine bar in a fun neighborhood. Check it out. -
Review 82 (2021-07-13 - Rating: 5)
Lovely little bar that was packed on a Monday night!Wine was great and they even turned on the AC as the front door was open and it’s that muggy NYC air this time of year.Would definitely recommend and might head back later this week myself🚀🎉 -
Review 83 (2017-12-30 - Rating: 4)
Very simple, friendly staff and good service. Very good prices during the happy hour. The place is pretty small so the number of seat is very limited, you better get in early. They have a good wine selection while not particularly impressive. Definitely recommend the place. -
Review 84 (2019-11-13 - Rating: 5)
Great cozy little cocktail/wine bar in East village. Used to be a tiny wine bar but expanded and got liquor license. The drinks are classic but pretty solid, nice wine selection and of course the ambiance! Makes for a great date spot/bar. -
Review 85 (2016-05-01 - Rating: 5)
Cool ambiance, dim lighting, and laid back atmosphere. Played Stones, Dylan, Police and the like. Nothing like a good glass of wine with Every Breath You Take playing in the background. Good wines, priced around $12. Bartenders very attentive, friendly, even saved two stools for a couple that had been waiting. You dont see that at many places. -
Review 86 (2011-11-04 - Rating: 4)

Review 88 (2017-12-18 - Rating: 5)
I like this place because the music isnt very loud 👌 -
Review 89 (2015-06-06 - Rating: 5)
The Immigrant has such a good concept, and lucky for them, it works. There is a beer bar on the left with an ever-changing, interesting selection of draughts and a very personable bartender (I like the guy with the awesome handlebar mustache). Right next door they have a wine bar with an equally interesting rotating selection (for example, hard to find a place with a good Greek wine and this place definitely has that). The music is always on point, often Oldies. All of the bartenders are very friendly and even the small snacks (almonds, olives, etc.) are tasty. Great place for a date because of the laid back, but intimate ambiance. There are small tables towards the back of each narrow space, but I prefer to sit at either bar. Jason, the owner, is a stand up guy as well. Many of the patrons are friends of his or have become such because hes extremely accommodating and easy to talk to. Long live The Immigrant! -
Review 90 (2016-01-13 - Rating: 5)
Relaxed comfortable wine bar in the middle of east village. Real warm and cozy during winters. Pleasant and quiet enough to carry a good conversation. Delicious wine selection and love their meat and cheese plate pairing. Also, theres happy hour! -
Review 91 (2022-06-29 - Rating: 5)
Very nice little quiet bar with indoor and outdoor seating. -
Review 92 (2019-12-14 - Rating: 5)
Nice chill vibes for a Friday after work! We were even able to snag two seats at the bar with no wait 👌🏽👌🏽.Drinks are reasonably / normally priced for the area — about $7/$8 for a beer and $12 or $13 for a cocktail. However, the appetizers seemed quite expensive, for example $10 for a fairly small portion of pita and hummus. -
Review 93 (2024-02-13 - Rating: 4)

Review 95 (2018-12-06 - Rating: 4)
A quiet place in East village. Such places are becoming harder to find around here. Went there on a Sunday night. They do have an interesting but smallish wine collection. I was impressed by the quality of Merlot I ordered. -

Review 98 (2016-11-28 - Rating: 5)
We had wine and snacks here around 5 PM on a Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed both the ambiance and the provisions. There was music in the background but we could easily hear each other talk. The lighting is cozily dim but not dark; theres a bar counter and a handful of small tables in the back. -

Cute spot, great wine and beer selection. They just expanded and so now you have more space. Go here and you wont be disappointed! -
Review 106 (2018-10-11 - Rating: 5)
My favorite bar in the East Village. The dynamic of splitting the wine bar from the beer bar also means you have two different atmospheres in the two bars with the wine side being quieter. Ideal date spot too. -

Review 113 (2017-09-13 - Rating: 4)
Great use of a small space. The wine list is interesting but, for me, a little too short. The food options, while limited, are appropriate for wine and fairly priced. -

Review 121 (2014-05-24 - Rating: 4)
My friends and I are often in East Village late at night on a weekend perusing the many speakeasies with spectacular cocktails. However, they come with long wait times or no open tables at all. Each and every time, we end up coming over to The Immigrant for a drink. Sometimes its just to kill some time waiting for a table elsewhere, and sometime its to close out the evening; either way, were always happy with the experience. The staff is friendly and accommodating and the wine has always been good. Only one time did we have trouble getting some table space, and they have since opened up another wing of the establishment: now they appear to have two adjacent establishments set up in a very similar configuration. One of my friends once got the champagne, and it was a bit flat, but I think thats to be expected getting champagne by the glass after midnight. The wines, especially the port, has not disappointed, and its a nice safe bet as a go-to spot in an area full of great late-night spots. -
Review 122 (2016-07-24 - Rating: 5)

Came to The Immigrant last Friday after work to meet up for dinner plans. This is an interesting little bar that Ive walked by plenty of times on my way to other places, it was nice to actually have a reason to go inside. We took over the little section all the way to the right-hand side of the bar counter right by the entrance. I love the large windows that provide lots of natural lighting and I like the whole overall dim, rustic, exposed brick feel - its kinda NYC-fancy chic without being too bougie and romantic - but not so much so that its alienating. At the end of the day, The Immigrant is a wine bar with a nice, encompassing selection of wines to choose from that were obviously curated lovingly with eclectic tastes in mind - although I do wish they would have had more roses and sparkling - just to round the menu out as I generally go with whites and their selection here is quite nice. One of my friends ordered a Sancerre which is also one of my favorite white wines from France thats very much light-bodied, yet rich in flavor and floral textures. Having gone to Paris last fall, I learned that it is pretty highly regarded in France and goes well with several different foods and very much so simply on its own.My other friend opted for a Sorachi Ace, a Brooklyn Brewery beer that she found a little hoppy, but still good. I ordered a SingleCut Beersmiths beer which was apparently brewed in nothing other than QUEENS and was actually QUITE delicious so I was very pleased. The cheese platters and other offerings on the menu seemed a bit pricier than what I would want to necessarily order in that neighborhood or place. Prices are something Id rather pay at Winebar, Von or just a bigger more established wine bar. The Immigrant has a cozy, neighborhood charm whos appetizer prices are trying too hard to charge a lot for small portions.I like this place, but Id only come here for a glass of wine, a few glasses of good craft beer, play with their super cool American-themed rotary phone (Captain America anyone!???) and then eat elsewhere. Good for a beginning of a date or meeting up with friends to go elsewhere. -
