The drinks are good. The place is massive. It’s always clean every time I come. There’s lots of room. It can get busy during game nights. The furniture and decor are nice. Staff is always pleasant. If you’re going to Penn Station, this is the place to be. -

Stopped by for a casual dinner, and they exceeded my expectations. I ordered the Guinness Beef Stew, which was hearty and flavorful, perfect for a chilly evening. The staff was so friendly and made me feel like I was a regular even though it was my first time there. I’ll definitely be coming back—next time, I’ll have to try their whiskey selection! -

Irish Exit has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Midtown. The corned beef nachos were absolutely delicious, and I wasn’t expecting such quality pub food. Their draft beer selection is great, especially if you’re into IPAs or Irish brews. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between lively and laid-back, which makes it a great spot whether you’re hanging with friends or just grabbing a drink alone. -

After a long event at Madison Square Garden, my friends and I came across Irish Exit, and it was the perfect way to end the night. I got the BBQ Chicken Flatbread, and it was just the right mix of tangy and sweet. The drink specials were unbeatable too—got a well-made margarita for a great price. We’re already planning to come back for brunch! -

This place is a miracle. A miracle I tell you. Convinced me that Jesus walked on water and turned water into wine. That’s easy. Putting a first class cocktail bar in the middle of Penn Station??? Where I can eat a burger from Burger Joint? Or brisket sandwich from Pastrami Queen? Or a chicken sando from Jacob’s Pickle? Are you kidding me? Centuries from now, no one will believe it possible. -

We had such an incredible time here!! From the moment we sat down, Mario greeted us and made us feel so welcome. He expertly recommended delicious cocktails to start off our girls night. We will absolutely be coming back to enjoy another couple rounds of drinks here!! Thank you Mario for your expertise and service! You are such a sweet man and professional bartender! -

Perfect Guinness, perfect cocktails and atmosphere. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I forgot I was in a busy train terminal for a second. They created something very special here ✨✨💚🧡, which is not surprising at all, considering that the Dead Rabbit team is behind this. The service is quick and bartenders are super hospitable. Mikey and Jacob, thank you! -

Who knew you could have fun at the train station! Mario is the best bartender in all of NYC. If you see him say HI and tell him I sent you! -
Review 9 (2024-09-13 - Rating: 4)
It’s a really really great bar, the drinks are great and made quick and the food options are perfect. I had to knock down 1 star though as ordering as a foreigner is very difficult, you can not order through the app as you need an American phone number so you have to try your luck and find a person that is not too busy to help you get a drink. That being said, everyone was very lovely. -

My every day spot since the renovation ggreat atmosphere and service! Beers cocktails are great -
Review 11 (2024-03-08 - Rating: 5)
Moynihan would be proud of this bar. Some of the best proper Guinness you’ll find in New York - and the full bar menu is (legally) available to-go. Guinness (un)surprisingly tastes great out of a coffee cup. 10/10 highly recommend sitting for a few pints at this bar, regardless of whether you are in transit or just in the neighborhood. -
Review 12 (2024-09-18 - Rating: 5)
Great spot with excellent drinks and big screen to watch sporting events. A lot of food vendors surround the main bar and are all integrated into the menu via QR service at the tables. Quick and easy. They also know how to pour a great Guinness. -

I found a new obsession in Moynihan Hall this week, thanks to my friend Darren who hooks me up with THE BEST ICE CREAM at Jacobs Pickles (Pickle & Popcorn, yall... you just must)! So much good food there!Moynihan Food Hall can get packed and finding a seat for just my own little self was a challenge, but to be fair it was about rush hour!My buddy Darren pointed out some delicious options for me at The Irish Exit! I tried the Devils on Horseback. I hope Im remembering the name right because TBH I lovingly renamed them Devil Doobies when I described them to my hubby! Ill say there are nuts, dates, goat cheese, AND BACON involved in this surprising treat! I know, I know... Devil Doobies and pickles and popcorn ice cream.... We dont need to talk about what a strange combination this is, ok. Its more than fine. Its perfection. I went home happy from Moynihan and thats what counts!@moynihanfoodhall@jacobspickles@theirishexitpub -

After watching the Macys Thanksgiving Day parade and getting soaked, we went to the Irish Exit in Penn Station for a drink. This is a very cool Irish Pub with great cocktails and craft beer on tap. I started off with an Irish Cawfee that hit the spot. For my second drink, I had a Guinness. Our bartender was so friendly and provided excellent service. The Irish Exit is a great place to grab a drink. -
Review 15 (2024-07-02 - Rating: 5)
I popped into The Irish Exit for a quick pint before my train, and ended up staying for dinner! The menu has a great variety, and everything I tried was tasty. The bartenders were knowledgeable and recommended some fantastic cocktails. I’ll definitely be back! -

This is the perfect blend of modern and traditional. The vibe is fantastic, with friendly staff and a great mix of locals and travelers. The happy hour deals are excellent, and the food is surprisingly good.. I’ll be making this a regular stop before heading home from the city. -
Review 17 (2024-12-15 - Rating: 5)
A truly fantastic bar in Moynihan that feels like more of a neighborhood haunt than a bar in the middle of a transportation facility. Staff is friendly and attentive, selection is abundant - with an exceptional cocktail menu - and everything is reasonably priced. Exit is a destination in and of itself, and a place I find myself returning to on the weekends. -
Review 18 (2024-12-26 - Rating: 5)
This is a great spot to catch a sip in between rides….. I prefer the Long Island Ice Tea here , they use top shelf 🫡😜 -
Review 19 (2024-07-24 - Rating: 5)
Staff, food, and drinks are good—Damon especially is a great guy. But they force you to order food through an app that wants your name (must match your credit card), email, and phone number, which then it charges a separate venue fee that isnt the food cost or the tip—and the privacy policy and terms of service are both dead links.Altogether, a bad experience that shouldnt be part of getting a bite and a drink in a train station.(Update: Dropped by again, and theyd switched to a different ordering app thats dramatically better - no required contact info, no strange fees, you can order at the bar just fine, etc. Bumping up to 5 stars.) -
Review 20 (2025-01-04 - Rating: 5)
🫶🏻This is my favorite spot in Moynihan Train Hall Station. Every time a family member or friend visits, we have our first drink together here. Many wholesome memories have been shared over a pint of Guinness. The drinks are amazing, the staff ( specially Pedro) are very friendly and welcoming. I particularly love the travel tag you can fill out and leave at the bar. It’s like sharing a piece of you with New York City. I highly recommend it ✨ -

I stopped by for a drink and a small plate of food—an excellent beer selection on tap. I had the fried pickles. The hot sauce was 🔥 and tasty. The servers were so friendly. -
Review 22 (2024-05-29 - Rating: 5)
Last month, my friends and I were looking for the perfect place in Midtown for a post-work team happy hour. Not only was it an easy walk from Hudson Yards, but the atmosphere was exactly what we hoped for: welcoming and vibrant. Amazing pub food, expertly crafted cocktails, this place has it all. -
Review 23 (2025-01-04 - Rating: 5)
The Margaret in Mexico is a must! Their expresso martinis are also delicious. Jacob is the best. Overall the service is a 10/10. The manager is also wonderful! The drinks are often quick and the staff is very attentive. Top notch and extremely surprising from a train station bar. -

Review 25 (2024-06-25 - Rating: 5)
The Irish Exit has become our favorite spot for after-work drinks. The service is always friendly, and their happy hour cant be beat. Great location near Penn Station. -
Review 26 (2023-12-14 - Rating: 5)
Every time I come here, the service is great and the staff really friendly. The food is excellent. I highly recommend the Devilled Eggs and the Fish and Chips which were a great reminder of how good they are back home in England.A.J. is a talented bar tender. When you dont know what you want to drink, give him an idea of your poison of choice - vodka, whisky, wine etc and hes got you. Ive watched every single customer over the last three months love what he creates for them, including me!Ignore the negative reviews, the reality is that Ive been coming here for a while and never seen or had a bad experience. -
Review 27 (2024-08-26 - Rating: 5)
The pub has a great selection of drinks, and the service was top-notch. It’s now my go-to spot whenever I’m near Penn Station. -
Review 28 (2024-05-08 - Rating: 5)
Fantastic service. Being a bar in the city and within a central traveling point, you would expect rushed service and excessive prices. YOU EOULD BE WRONG.The staff are very warm and friendly and prices are similar to anywhere else. A great place to wait for your train.Thank you again for the staff who gave me a fantastic spicy margarita with a salt, pepper, and mint rim. Sorry I couldn’t remember the name -

Review 30 (2024-03-26 - Rating: 5)
The Irish exit is located inside the MOYNIHAN train station. This bar is in the center with great drink selection with wonderful and quick service. AJ the bartender is the absolute best, his costumer service is unmatched, and his drinks are AWESOME. Definitely recommend stopping and going or hanging for the vibes! -

Review 32 (2024-04-06 - Rating: 5)
Eamon, Kayla, Peter, and the whole team are some of the best bartenders in the city. Great spot ran by great folks. Some of the best Guinness in NYC. -
Review 33 (2024-11-27 - Rating: 5)
We had a large group meet here for a friend’s birthday, and it was the perfect venue. The service was top-notch, and they accommodated us easily, even with short notice. The spinach artichoke dip was a hit with everyone, and the wings were the best I’ve had in NYC. The pub has a lively, fun vibe, perfect for gatherings. I highly recommend it for anyone planning a group event. -
Review 34 (2024-10-28 - Rating: 5)
I’m a whiskey sour fan, and the one I had here was hands down the best I’ve had in ages. Paired it with their Reuben sandwich, which was the perfect combination of savory and satisfying. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is attentive without being overbearing. Definitely a place to unwind after a long day. -
Review 35 (2024-05-20 - Rating: 5)
The sidecar cocktail with Hennessy is top notch. The drinks are well-crafted, the service is quick and the waiter was friendly. Probably my third time here and I’ve yet to be disappointed. It’s easy to order and pay from your table and the seats are very comfortable. Prices are a tad high but it’s well worth it. The preparation and presentation is similar to what you’d expect from a speakeasy. -
Review 36 (2024-06-26 - Rating: 5)
A masterclass in hospitality and quality. Spent some time chatting with the manager who was an absolute class act. In the ongoing search for a great pint of Guinness—search complete. I will be back again and again. -
Review 37 (2024-10-04 - Rating: 5)
They have become my new favorite spot for a night out with friends. We shared a few plates like the sliders and buffalo wings, and everything was fantastic. The vibe is casual, yet classy, and the drink selection is stellar. Their signature cocktails are a must-try—I loved the Irish Mule. It’s also nice to have a pub that’s so close to Midtown and Penn Station, super convenient! -
Review 38 (2024-10-03 - Rating: 5)
Popped into Irish Exit for a quick bite before catching my train, and I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the fish and chips, and it was crispy and delicious. The beer selection was impressive too—grabbed a Guinness that hit the spot. Friendly staff and quick service. Definitely making this my go-to spot at Penn Station. -

Review 40 (2024-10-29 - Rating: 5)
This place is a hidden gem right inside Penn Station! I stopped by on a whim before my train and ended up staying for a couple of hours. The Irish Coffee was amazing, and their menu has plenty of variety. I went for the shepherds pie, and it tasted like pure comfort. You wouldnt expect such good food in a station, but Irish Exit proved me wrong! -

Mario is the BEST BARTENDER!!! PERIOD!!!! My girlfriend and I had so much fun talking cocktail recipes with him. He had so many wonderful and tasty recipes up his sleeves, I always admire a bartender who understands his craft, and it’s clear he knows the industry very well. He is truly such a talented man behind the bar, and super friendly!!! Which is a lot considering this is New York lol. I absolutely loved my time here, and will happily come back to see my new friend!!! Thank you Mario!!! 💕 -

I’ve been coming to this bar weekly for a while, it’s a great commuter bar and extremely close to MSG.The bar has improved in quality with their recently revamp (in 2023). Their bottle selection for gin and bourbon is great. The beer selection is good, I wish it rotated more. There has never been a bad bartender nor pour that I’ve had. The staff is extremely nice and does a great job working with crowded environments like on game days and train delays. Additionally, they have DJs a few nights a week!Hats off to this bar and swing in on your way in or out of town! Cheers! -

We really enjoyed our 2 visits to the Irish Exit 2 weeks ago. The atmosphere was really good the drinks were great. Our outstanding bartender Peter went so far out of his way when he found my phone , he put in a safe and was more than happy to retrieve it and give it to me when we came back 2 days later. He made us not only incredibly happy but reinforced our faith in man. Thank you again Peter, keep being a great bartender and a great man. -
Review 53 (2024-10-29 - Rating: 4)
Being in a train station (and a very busy train station) one would not expect a great bar experience - well atleast I wasn’t but I was wrong. A colleague and I were in NYC for a board meeting, and it wrapped up early. She said let’s stop at Irish Exit for a drink and well we did. Once you walk out the “station”, it’s like walking into a true Irish bar (albeit busier). Amazing selection of beer, wine and the hard stuff. Good service, free Wi-Fi and most things can be done via QR code. Will definitely visit next time I’m at Penn. -

Review 55 (2023-12-15 - Rating: 5)
I was a fan of the Dead Rabbit so I was excited to try this place. As far as I can see, this is as good as a bar at a transit hub can get. Service was quick and friendly, drinks were great and the location is convenient. I can see people saying this isnt a great bar, but in reality this is a great place given the location inside MSG/Moniyhan Train Hall. -
Review 56 (2024-10-29 - Rating: 4)
This an excellent bar in a great location. Beautiful decor. Wonderful way to enter and exit Penn Station. I recommend this establishment.I recently had two experiences at Irish Exit. One that was amazingly hospitable, the other, unfortunately, was not.First, with best: Both New York baseball teams were recently in the postseason. This doesnt happen very often. I wanted to catch the Yankee game from the beginning, so I visited the bar before the start time, but the game wasnt playing. I asked the bartender if the game would be shown and was told that it would. I ordered a beer but unfortunately the game didnt come on the screen. I reminded the bartender and he was genuinely apologetic. I could tell that he intended to follow-through, and was he sorry for the mistake -- he got the TV turned on right away. When I closed my tab, the bartender apologized again -- he didnt have to, but it made an impression. This is a person who cares about providing top notch service.Second, with the unfortunate: similar situation. Its a possible elimination game for the Mets playing the Dodgers, and I visit the bar and inquire about whether the game would be playing. I was told I dont know. Ill have to check. The bartender goes to the other side of the bar and returns, and asks if I know what I would like to have to drink. I say its dependent upon whether the game will be shown. The person says, though seemingly a bit annoyed, that it will be shown. I gave them my card and keep the tab open. Im happy! I order my drink and patiently wait in front of the TV. A game comes on, but its the wrong one - Jets vs. Steelers. This is funny. I confirm with the bartender that I was there to watch the Mets vs. Dodgers. I patiently wait for the game to come on. A few minutes later the bartender asks me to kindly move a few chairs over to the right to see the game in front of the other TV. No problem! Im happy to be able to watch the game. I dont interact with the bartender the rest of the night, no check-in, how are you doing, or anything like that. Thats ok, maybe we were off to a rough start at the beginning. There were at two additional bartenders there to help me order additional drinks. I keep a written tally of what I order, and I changed the brand of beer I order for each round. It was a Sunday night, kind of slow, and the end of the week for the folks on staff, so I could see they were a bit tired and bit disengaged. I can understand how they might feel. The Mets didnt score runs in the late innings with bases loaded, so I decided to go. I asked to close out, was given my bill on the small mobile POS terminal, add my tip and then ask for the receipt to be texted to my phone.I want to note that with these terminals were often presented with only the total amount and requested tip -- not the itemized total. Im sure theres a way to review the details, but I usually trust the bartender that everything is correct. As I was riding up the escalator to exit Penn Station, I received a text on my phone, which was itemized bill for what I just paid for. I noticed that I was charged twice for the first drink that I ordered. I decided to go back to the bar and point out the error. There was no apology given, albeit the bartender who I spoke with wasnt the person who made the error. However, I was told that the manager wasnt around to approve a refund, and that a request would be put in, but not to worry. This would imply to me that manager would approve the credit for the extra charge. Several business days later, I check my credit card statement online. The refund was not given. Everyone makes mistakes, but unlike the first experience, this one makes a poor impression. The ball was dropped twice. I genuinely hope this was unintentional. In the future, this type of situation can be avoided. One possible resolution have token(s) or coupons to give out for a complementary drink. Another is to prepare to have the TVs on for the World Series and other big games before people need to ask. -

The Irish Exit is the best spot for a good cocktail after work. I travel frequently (2-3 days a week) from Philly to NYC and it’s a must to stop by to chat with bartender AJ. He specializes in making an old fashion, great customer service and pays attention to details. I literally sit down and within minutes my drink is in front of me. Not to mention, AJ is very knowledgeable about the food menu and all the services the bar offers. This is spot to got to when traveling by train into or out of NYC. -

We were in the train station from New York to Boston and had an incredible experience when we sat down at The Irish Exit. AJ welcomed us to the bar and served us the most amazing drinks. His energy, wit, laugh, and passion inspired us so much we pushed our train to a later time. I can’t say enough good things about AJ - so welcoming. We are from Boston and would really love to see him there if you ever open up a space there. Kudos AJ for being a true gem. We hope to see you in Boston! Drinks were fire! -
