    We visited the New York bar for their pre-theatre menu, and the wagyu sandwiches were very good—I’d rate them 4/5. However, I would have liked the waiter to refill my water more often, as I had an empty glass for 20 minutes and had to ask. On the plus side, they were much quicker with refilling the champagne! The cheesecake, made from the owner’s recipe, was amazing and highly recommended. Overall, I’d give the experience 4.5 stars, as the service (aside from the water issue) was excellent, and the staff were incredibly kind.

    This is the second time myself and my son-in-law have experienced the Gin Tasting accompanied with small plates. Both times we had Frank as our Gin Expert. He was very knowledgable and charming as well. We will definitely be returning.

    Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights for my birthday and had the best cocktail experience ever with Matt who created our cocktails to suit our taste. With this we received the best tasting nibbles to go with it. Absolutely fantastic, thank you Matt.Would also like to give a thanks to the waiter in the bar Frank, great service.

    I booked in for the Cocktail Masterclass. I was surprised that the class went ahead as I was the only one registered for this particular time slot.It was an excellent session. Matt was extremely knowledgeable and personable; and I enjoyed a classic cocktail and a bespoke cocktail as part of the experience.I’ve enjoyed a few lovely cocktails and great conversations on other occasions during my stay at the Rubens.The bar / wait staff have all provided service to the highest standards.

    Gin tasting was booked as a gift from family! Learnt from Jacek about the history of gin and how different types/brands are made. An incredibly knowledgable man who didn’t rush us through our 2 hour experience. We had a super time. Sampled 3 different gins, all both neat and with tonics. Atmosphere, service and staff were fantastic. Highly recommend!

    I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Reubens Hotel in London, where I spent time at the New York Bar within the hotel. What was supposed to be one drink turned into multiple drinks across many nights with my family and I. This is by far the best bar I have been to in London, not only does it have a stunning, old-fashioned look and feel - but the staff working there are truly some of the best people you will ever meet. Particularly Jason and Jacek, who work there and took such great care of my family and I. I had THE best whiskey cocktails I will ever have at this bar, and I thank Jacek for sharing so much knowledge about the various Whiskeys and I thank Jason for showing me the importance of presentation and how making cocktails is an art in itself. It was a truly mesmerizing experience and I encourage you to view the video to observe how well these cocktails are presented and put together by Jason, with such incredible attention to detail. Not only were the drinks fantastic, but the overall atmosphere of the bar gave a very comforting feeling and I credit Jason and Jacek for creating that atmosphere. From long chats at the bar with Jason and Jacek, to the Frank Sinatra music running in the background that gave the New York Bar a true authentic New York feel (this is coming from someone who has grown up in NY), this was truly the most wonderful experience. To anyone that plans to go to London, go to THIS bar!

    Wow!!! What a fantastic find. It was the Thursday before Coronation. I popped over to London for a day of wandering, walking the streets that would soon be crowded as a new king was crowned.I was walking to catch a coach back to Oxford. The sun had set and then I heard music coming out of a building. I walked into this magnificent bar. Which as it turns out is part of the hotel. I loved it. My husband told me to get a room and stay the night.I was happy to sit, have a cocktail, listen to music and eat a sweet delicious dessert. Look at these pictures. Wow!!I caught a later coach and arrived back in Oxford after midnight. This little detour was worth it. I will be back with my husband.The service was warm and friendly. I loved watching the patrons ALL laughing, chatting and having a good time. The dessert gets an A++ for flavor & creative presentation. Thank you 😊.

    Last night we came to the New York bar the whiskey tasting experience. We had such a great time!! Frank was amazing, so knowledgeable and friendly. We tried 3 amazing whiskeys and also got 3 paired cheeses, as well as a sharing food platter which was delicious. We found it really good value for this sort of experience. Then as we were finishing a singer began, she was really good so we ended up staying for more drinks! If youre considering going for a drink experience - do it - and ask for Frank!

    A wonderful interlude after our show was cancelled. Joppe was so attentive and friendly and the rest of the staff were great too. The bathroom was clean and spacious and environmentally friendly with proper hand towels. The drinks menu had everything you could need and everything was easy to find. They use paper straws.Wonderful tapas snacks and beautiful decor. I can really recommend their infused gins. This bar made us want to book the adjacent hotel next time we visit. Really great bar.

    Flew in from the US today to stay at the Rubens. Had our first meal at The New York Bar and had the best time. The live music entertainer was extremely talented and fun while interacting with the patrons, making for an intimate experience. Paolo, one of our servers, was very attentive and made great drink suggestions.

    A wonderful bar which takes you back in time. Pure class, from service to food and cocktails. The singer there in the evenings, Sourya has a lovely voice and well worth spending the evening listening to her and sipping cocktails.Frankie, the veteran waiter is a proper old school gentleman, an absolute treasure, hope he never retires. He makes the place.

    Fantastic gin tasting experience with Jacek who was knowledgeable and gave a wonderful insight into the world of gin it’s origins, history and how to enhance the flavours. The gins were plentiful and the ambience superb. Lovely hotel and very pleasant staff the platter for two was also delicious. We will be back!

    Loved this place, it was the perfect welcome after a long flight from NY. Jason in the bar showed me my new favorite drink, and was exceptional. Jacek was great as well , would highly recommend going visit these two in particular.Cheers!

    Whisky tasting experience for my husband. We had a great afternoon with Jacek. He shared so much information about the different types of whisky. The origins, how to taste whisky, how it is paired with soft and hard cheeses and with chocolate. Something I did not know. What a lovely and humorous person Jacek was (seriously). The food was delicious, the short ribs, the giant prawn, the fries and chicken bao bun was delicious 😋. Would definitely come back.

    Upscale traditional bar setting with live music, classic and speciality cocktails, beer and wine menu. The bartenders were knowledgeable and responsive. The cocktails included fresh ingredients and served in decorative glasses. The only fault was that no draft beers were available because the system was being cleaned for its weekly maintenance.

    I wish I can give 10 stars for the staff and vibes when I was visiting. I had such a great experience and that was for the hospitality, exceptional customer service and the liveliness that Jason, Jacek, and Arghavan provided. I love to enjoy hotel bars when I stay at the hotel and meet great people. I will definitely come visit again just for the staff, especially for those 3. To be honest, that bar was a little stuffy and quiet that I didnt even want to stay long. Thankfully after a certain time, they turned the music up, took song requests, got us dancing and sipping on delicious drinks all provided by the 3 of them. I made sure to visit all nights I was there. It made my trip beyond memorable. That I tell everyone when visiting to stop by and say Hi.HIGHLY RECOMMEND and ask for Jason, Jacek and Arghaven and tell them Vanessa sent ya! Thank you for an amazing experience! See you soon.

    Quick stop for an afternoon drink and nibble. Quintessential English bar located in the Rubens Hotel. Table service, always a bonus, great drinks, loads to choose from on the menu. Great for a special evening, drinks with friends or a cozy drink for two. Highly recommend, conveniently located walking distance from Victoria and across the street from the Royal Mews.

    We stayed at the Ruben’s for a couple nights and had amazing service from Jason at the bar. Super knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend. Also a special shoutout to Mohan who was really welcoming and nice from the curry room next door. This is a great place!

    Attended a gin tasting experience provided as a gift and the two of us were greeted warmly at the door and in the lobby and shown to our table and introduced to Frank our mixologist. On the table were a variety of gins, mixers and garnishes. Frank talked us through the history of gin and its processing before we tasted three gins - each neat, then with ice and mixer, then with a garnish such as orange peel, olives etc. It was amazing to taste the differences between the gins and how the taste of each changed with their additions. At the end of his presentation Frank provided us with us with lovely sharing plates plus another double measure of our favourite gin and coffee. A fascinating afternoon in wonderful surroundings with the knowledgeable and friendly Frank who, of course, makes the experience what it is. Recommended.

    Last night myself and my family came for our daughters joint birthday meal.The food was lovely and we all enjoyed the experience.The staff previously knew about our daughters birthdays in advance and made the most beautiful cake with both of their names on it. This was such a lovely touch and was a lovely surprise.The singer was fantastic and bought a lovely ambiance to the evening. I would personally like to thank Fred for his amazing hospitality and his friendly 5 star service. He made us feel very welcome and its that great service that makes a difference to an evening out.Thanks to all the staff for everything.

    Great ambience. Good selection of drinks. The staff was kind enough to walk me around the bar and give show me around the leopard bar and the tea menu. the Indian restaurant downstairs the bar was also fantastic. the food was amazing and cooked to perfection. the manager Mohan was very courteous and took care of us really well. The chef had come down to us and talked to us. As I have dietary preferences, he made special dishes to compensate for what I could not otherwise eat. This was a great gesture. I would recommend this very highly! Great place, great service, great location and very friendly place.

    My wife and daughtet ordered drinks before I sat down, no one actually acknowleded us and my wife had to get attention, just been to mens room so I was not ready at that time. The waiter came back I ordered a bottle of beer. I waited about 15mins and went to the bar to find out where it was.     Last time I was in Rubens Hotel? Donkeys. We were desperate for somewhere air-conditioned, dark - with seats - and alcoholic refreshment. The 3 of us were eventually allowed to muscle in on Rodney from California, sitting alone with 3 places surrounding him, who was quite happy to be overwhelmed with our company. The waiter, howeverwas not very happy with this arrangement as, yknow, the Hotels reputation needed to be considered.Jeesh, man, when a woman is hot and bothered and is desperate for ice cold water and a Pina Colada, the LAST thing on her mind is seduction. As if. Especially with 3 of us. We all had a great time and Rodney thoroughly enjoyed our very non-professional company. And we, his.I agreed with his wife ( absent at the time) that the Pina was the best ever. We also had a bon bouche on the house and twas excellent. All in all, a saving grace from the heatwave and noise from Victoria. Bliss.

    I would like to compliment the knowledge of Jacek on his gin experience; he introduced us to the history of each gin as well as the complimentary flavours. It was my birthday and he made couldn’t have made it more special, the whole experience has been great and I would recommend it to all gin lovers.     My girlfriend took me here for the whiskey tasting experience for my birthday, it was brilliant. The wonderful Raj welcomed us and made us feel excited to be there and that they were genuinely happy to have us, it was the best service I have ever experienced. We were then introduced to Frank who guided us through our experience. He was knowledgeable and friendly, an absolute pleasure. The whiskeys were delicious, as were the accompanying cheeses, sharing dishes, and the birthday dessert they kindly gave me. We have already arranged to go back, I would highly recommend it to anyone.

    Gin experience at the New York Bar. I have done various Gin tours in London. However, the Gin experience with Jacek was on a different level. Immediately at ease his friendly and humourous demeanor made you feel very comfortable. His exceptional knowledge had us wanting to know more.     Visited the Rubens for a gin tasting experience. We were treated to 3 lovely gin and tonics all with a different fantastic flavours put together by the brilliant Alessio. This guy was so knowledgeable and made the experience so much fun! We learnt and drank a lot!The food was a 4 plate sharer which was delicious!     Jacek gave us an amazing gin tasting experience! Gave us the history of gin followed by a lovely tasting with lots of interesting facts and tips!     Really lovely bar, with great, helpful staff. I would strongly recommend taking part in a whiskey tasting session with Jacek: He is very knowledgable and enthusiastic, and the experience is a real eye-opener. I could not fault any part of our time at this bar!
